RICHARD HUYNH(other)5 out of 5 Rating
We had gone to about 14 different venues in the OC area to look for a suitable venue for our June 2023 wedding (~late Spring 2022) and this was the first venue where as soon as walked in, my then-fiancee and now-wife said, \"I can see us getting married here.\" It was the first time she had said this and in my mind, I agreed and had already put down in my mental to-do list to cancel our other 8 or so remaining venue visits we had scheduled in the upcoming weeks. The entire process of booking our date was quick and easy with our first point of contact - Cierra - being so pleasant to work with and she was always courteous and a quick responder to emails, even when she was away from the office. In under 2 weeks we had booked and signed for the date we wanted and she gave us plenty of recommendations on other vendors to support us in creating the wedding of our dreams. At any point when we made changes or added new things, the Nixon staff were accepting and willing to work with us. On our walkthroughs and final polishing of details, we worked with Keviann, Amy and Jocelyn, and each showed the same professionalism and care that Cierra had up to this point. They made sure all the pieces we brought in were as we imagined and made our day so much more special. They also shadowed us on the day of making sure that all of our needs, in regards to the venue and our guests, were met neatly and promptly. There is no complaint I can possibly think of because the team at the Nixon took care of my wife and I so well throughout our planning process and of course on the day of. The venue is beautiful, the staff are amazing and I'm positive if any reading this choose the Nixon for any event, there will be no regrets whatsoever. I joked with my family that we would be throwing the wedding of the century and the Nixon team definitely made it happen. Reviewed on 30-07-2023

Pre-wedding:We first stumbled upon the Nixon Library through a friend's recommendation. I had my hesitations at first, thinking to myself, \"Getting married at a library...?\" Oh, how wrong was I? To our surprise, a beautiful venue such as this would have an opening on our date in mind.We were absolutely stunned on the day of the walk-through. My wife and I couldn't believe our eyes as we walked down the hallway through the museum portion of the library. Through the glass doors, a reflecting pool serves as a dazzling backdrop to the ceremonial ground.\"This is it,\" we both whispered to each other, attempting to grasp the breath that was taken away just seconds ago.Just when I thought things could not get more exciting, I was surprised (of course my wife knew) to find the perfect presidential ballroom for our reception. Portraits of important people added to the grandness of the reception hall. I joked about it then, and I will continue to do so, that George Washington was a part of our wedding.Aesthetics aside, the Nixon Library staff were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were responsive, thorough, accommodating, and honest. I know that for most, wedding planning could be very challenging, navigating through so many points of contact; yet the Nixon Library staff guided us through the process seamlessly and took care of the details flawlessly -- it truly saved us much of the headache. Day of the wedding:Our wedding was in late May when the temperature wasn't awfully cold or intolerably hot. Not only was the weather ideal, but the roses bloomed the most during this season as well. Neither my wife nor I have ever seen roses blooming this radiantly. So many of my guests told us they were able to get their Christmas family photos from our wedding with backgrounds like these! Everyone we spoke to also loved the food White House Catering served on our wedding day. Appetizer options: Ahi taco, chicken waffle bite, beef wellington. The main course of prime rib, grilled salmon, fusilli pesto, and lobster ravioli to name a few. Methinks the only regrets the guests shared in common were reportedly having stomachs too small for all this mouthwatering food! The day flew by, as most married couples will tell you. Some would even say their wedding day is a blur. But to me, our wedding day was carved in our memories. It wasn't stressful. We weren't in a rush to get a headstart to our ever-after. We were present in those moments. We were happy. The Nixon Library gave us the wedding of our dreams. At the end of the day, being married to the love of your life is the goal. But if there are vendors like the Nixon Library to come alongside you, you can surely spend more time doing what is important -- in my case, panfry up a piece of ribeye steak for my beautiful bride. They scheduled us to do a walkthrough prior to the wedding, which was very helpful to visualize all parts of the wedding day! We also needed to change the start time of our wedding a few weeks before the date, and they were very flexible and accommodating. We were even able to book the bride/groom's room an hour earlier to allow more time for pictures before the wedding. One thing we didn't realize before booking was that they have \"recommended\" caterers that you are required to select from, so I would recommend looking at the prices of those caterers before you book the venue to ensure it is what you would like/is in your budget. However, we loved our experience with their recommended vendor White House Catering! We got married in January and were worried about the weather, however they helped us create a back-up plan in advance to help ease my mind. It ended up being a sunny day, however the grass was still muddy from rain a few days earlier. They allowed us to put mats down on the grass to make sure no one got muddy! If you are booking around the holidays, they do have Christmas decorations and Christmas tree displays out in the lobby that I was unaware of until my scheduled walkthrough that are unable to be removed for the event. I personally loved the trees and decorations, however I know that might be less desirable for some couples!Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful experience with the Nixon Library. Our experience from the very beginning to the very end was beyond anything we could have imagined. The service we received from the moment we expressed interest up through the aftermath of the event was top notch. Jenny was the coordinator we worked with and she was incredibly helpful, responsive, informative, and kind. We never once felt pressured or overwhelmed they made things so easy for us during the planning process. We noted and appreciated the transparency - a lot of these places have hidden fees and/or costs and in no way we were surprised. We went with Jason's Catering and couldn't have been more pleased. Adriana is an absolute pleasure to work with and was SO incredibly helpful. There are a lot of things to think about, ideas, different combinations and ways of doing things but she has a way of breaking things down to come up with a plan/menu that's right for you. Our guests were blown away by the experience, service, and venue. We received so many compliments on the food, the staff, and overall venue. We fell in love with the grand ballroom tying into our Classic Elegance wedding theme perfectly! \rI would highly recommend going with Richard Nixon Library as wedding venue! You won't regret it! I sure didn't! Reviewed on 20-10-2015
Blanca Gutierrez(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-09-2015 I recently held my wedding at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace. Let me begin by suggesting that the RNL is the BEST venue in Southern California! I highly recommend to everyone.\r\rThe RNL is a historic location\rwith a Glorious Garden full of beautiful roses. The Nixon birthplace house sits on the property amongst some large shady tees. The long pond like water hole fits the garden perfect drawing the sunlight just before a sunset. The whole property really is a photographers dream! \rThe customer service at the RNL is outstanding! I work as a customer service specialist for one of the leading automobile manufacturers in the world. I appreciate and highly value good CS, and that is exactly what i received from Laura (coordinator, RNL) as well as the entire staff. Even the security was very respectable.\rImmediately entering the RNL, you are greeted by a gorgeous entry way\rwith long hall of flags leading to Yorba Linda's own rendition of the White House East Room.\rPictures do not do this room justice! Chandeliers and Fireplaces compliment the high ceilings and white pillars. The room allows good sound travel so music sounds great.\rAmple parking for any size wedding. \rPrice is very fair and a great value!\rOverall, I was very impressed with the RNL and thank them for their services. \r-Evan Valle Reviewed on 15-10-2015
Kristen Louise Miofsky(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-01-2015 I could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding. We were in frequent contact from the beginning with Laura Machin who was always very helpful and responsive. Even to the point of accomodating our request to delay cutting the garden roses so we could have blooms on the day of the wedding. We hosted our ceremony in the Rose Garden and Reception in the East Room. Both beautiful settings. To this day we are still getting comments on how lovely the venue was. Thank you to the Nixon Library and team for setting the scene so beautifully for our wedding! Reviewed on 13-10-2015
Amily Nguyen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-07-2015 Our wedding was held on 4th of July at the Nixon Library; their coordinator, Laura was great to work with. She even contacted us after the wedding to congratulate us! The overall venue is beautiful - inside and out. Ample parking space, so no need to worry that your guests won't have parking. Our wedding ceremony was held outside in the garden, as well as cocktail. Our reception was held in the inside hall which was very spacious with a high ceiling. Any kind of up-lighting in the room would make it a jaw-dropper for your guests. We still get compliments, even to this day! We worked with White House Catering for their services since they were contracted with Nixon. Contracted vendors as well. Overall, great place for our wedding - we are definitely glad we made the choice of choosing Nixon Library for our wedding venue! Reviewed on 02-10-2015
Araceli V(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-07-2015 It was love at first sight with the RNL. After looking at four other venues in OC we decided the RNL was our best option for our 300 guests. It has a huge garden and great AC, which was #1 on my husband's list. There is enough free parking for everyone which is nice. Our guests were also allowed to go into the museum exhibits for free while they waited for the cocktail hour to start. Our go-to girl was Jackie and she was great, in fact anyone you get to work with is polite and happy to answer any questions or concerns. \r\rONLY 4 Catering companies are allowed to work with the RNL. At first we weren't very happy with that but we had already signed the contract. We chose JASON'S CATERING. It was THE BEST DECISION. Adriana was our sales rep. And she was a pleasure to work with. She had a great personality and was always prompt to answer any questions or concerns we had.. even when she was on maternity leave. She loves what she does and it showed.\rBesides the Delicious food Jason's Catering offers, they also take care of setting up all the tables /chairs/ and linens and cleans up after the party. I loved that they cleaned and packed the cake stands and knife and toasting flutes. They also put all the gifts on a cart and were ready to load at the end of the night. It made it easy and fast for my brother, who was very tired. OH YES I can't forget to mention that the bride and groom have their own personal waiter/waitress that follow you around with appetizers(during cocktail hour) and they are at your beck and call the rest of the night. Plus the bride and groom get free drinks all night.\r \rEveryone loved the venue especially because it was a hot day. Jason's set up cocktail tables and chairs in the hallway during the cocktail hour and that turned out great for all my elderly guests.\r\rIt is a little pricey to book the RNL especially on a Saturday (luckily we got married on a Friday). FYI Read the contract thoroughly.\r The catering price is separate and that depends on what kind of food and linens and flatware you want. \r\rBooking the RICHARD NIXON LIBRARY and JASON'S CATERING for our reception was the Best choice for our wedding (We had our ceremony offsite) It was worth every dime!!! I have nothing bad to say except the band lost electricity for about 10minutes but got fixed super quick. \r\rThey made our wedding day PERFECT. Reviewed on 24-09-2015
Anonymous (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-09-2015 The best venue to have a wedding ceremony and reception! Our wedding in September turned out so beautifully because we had it at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. We really love the garden where our ceremony was held. The garden is in between Nixon's birth house and the beautiful long pool. The reception area is indoors in their East Ballroom. The ballroom is huge with beautiful hanging chandeliers, which was so perfect for our timeless and elegant theme. This place is also really great for wedding photographers because there are so many beautiful spots to take pictures. Our guests really enjoyed themselves because they had the opportunity to view the museum an hour before our ceremony, didn't have to deal with a parking situation (plenty of parking at Nixon Library's private parking lot), and had a lot of space to dance! Truly a gorgeous space to have a wedding. \rNot only is the Nixon Library a stunning venue, but we really love working with Laura! She is absolutely so sweet and so helpful. She made us feel really comfortable and stress-free throughout our wedding planning process. She's always so prompt to respond to our questions and never made us feel bad for asking questions. We chose the Nixon Library to have our wedding not only because we fell in love with the venue, but the excellent customer service that Laura provides. We looked at other venues when we were making our decision, but it felt like other places just wanted our money without being helpful. We felt like other venues will make the planning process stressful with lack of responses, hiccups, and other problems. We absolutely have no complaints about Laura, but only offer our highest compliments to her. She is definitely dependable and wants to make the bride/groom happy. \r\rThank you again so much for making our wedding day a truly memorable one! =) Reviewed on 22-09-2015
