This was a fabulous, beautiful place with fantastic views of the Tahoe basin and surrounding mountains. My daughter got married there at the end of October and I couldnât have asked for a more perfect venue, although, due to weather, we opted to move the ceremony indoors. The people that work there go out of their way to meet your every need, and are on top of everything, especially our wedding coordinator, Katie B., who ensured the ceremony and reception went smoothly. The food was wonderful, and the reception staff were super helpful. Just wonderful in every way. With such gorgeous views, large, comfortable rooms and plenty of activities onsite or nearby, I look forward to planning another trip to relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty, and hopefully have more time to hike or bike a few of the nearby trails! Everything was amazing from the moment we booked a tour with Katie to the day of the wedding. Katie was a great communicator, always checking in and making sure we were aware of any covid restrictions. Bottom line, she had our back and I wish we could have her coordinate all life events. The ridge also made planning so easy by providing potential vendors for you to have which really helped take the guessing out of the lot of planning. They are also a one stop shop with food done in house and omg, people cannot stop raving about how good our wedding food was. Highly recommend the ravioli and beef filet tips. First off, the packages they provide are incredible and Katie works with you to customize it to exactly what you want. Secondly, they help you with all vendors, either working with them directly or sending you recommendations and ideas. And lastly, Katie! She is honestly incredible. We sent her so many emails and had so many questions and conversations with her and she was so kind and helpful throughout the planning process. Then came the rehearsal and day of our wedding and she was amazing. She helped make sure everything was going okay, she helped with anything we needed help with (including when we couldnât get my veil on right, but Katie could). Ashley Rosso(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-12-2019 Though it pains me to write this, my experience hosting my wedding at The Ridge Tahoe was substandard. I am a planner and spent a significant amount of time ensuring that the details for myself and my guests was handled properly. During the night of my wedding I was erroneously charged for beverages which amounted to nearly $2000. It took the venue nearly 7 days to refund all the charges. Then 3 months after the conclusion of my wedding my aunt reached out to me and stated that her credit card had been charged by the Ridge with no one from the ridge reaching out to her. This has since happened to two of my other guests that I know of in some cases 4 months after the event. The Ridge was undergoing a change in management at the time as it was purchased by the Holiday Inn Group. I was told at the time that it was just a new system that caused all the erroneous charges but since this has continued to happen to my party members it has become clear that the management team has failed to run a hotel in a professional manner. I completely understand that mistakes happen and that there may have been errors in card processing; that being said it is incumbent on the establishment to ensure that its procedures are completed properly and charging guests 4 months after a stay when that guest was given a final bill is completely unprofessional and some may say criminal. Blaire was the one who we initially met with, she showed us around and answered all our questions. We communicated mainly through e-mail, and she was super responsive! What we loved was that they had various packages to choose from and basically made us our own featured around what we wanted. My husband and I just said âI Doâ on May 04, 2018 at The Ridge Resort in Lake Tahoe, and let me tell you, what an amazing experience this was. We came to the Ridge hoping we could make this dream wedding work into our budget. Blair Butler was extremely helpful in sending over pricing details and getting us set up for a tasting event before we confirmed our booking. At the event, we got to meet Executive Chef Stephen Moise, and all I can say is wow, he is truly inspiring and you can tell he loves what he does! If we had been on the fence at all about booking with The Ridge, he would have changed our mind. I remember him saying âjust because you get a buffet at a wedding, does not mean it should taste like buffet food.â The food as promised tasted the same if not better than when we tried it, and that is what all our guests kept saying throughout the night; âThat was some of the best wedding food weâve had, or the food was delicious.â It takes an army to put together a wedding and we were lucky enough to have this army being led by Shannon Schumacher. She was absolutely amazing from that first email congratulating us on our upcoming wedding to the day of the wedding. There are not enough good things I can say about Shannon that can put into words how much we truly enjoyed working for her. She took the normal wedding stress away from me so that I could focus on the day itself and remembering every detail. I know she could not do this all alone so I want to take a little time to thank her team who helped make this day amazing. We want to thank, Tom Heely, our bequest Captain during the reception, he made sure everything was going per plan and all of guests and ourselves had everything they needed. As well as Yvonne our Banquet Captain for the Rehearsal dinner, she was so sweet and accommodating to our partyâs needs. Next a huge thank you Tina from Lavish floral for our beautiful flowers and to all the ladies from Flour girl wedding Cakes, the cake was just a delicious as when we tried it! Sharon Rusk, thank you for a lovely ceremony, it was designed to suite mine and Larryâs wishes but still captured the traditions we wanted. Rachel Loemli, you are an amazing photographer, you made us feel comfortable and made what could be an awkward hour of photos fly by feeling natural. Finally to our musicians and Dj, Bart Libby; our guests loved the hours you played for them during the cocktail hour and our ceremony music was exactly as we requested. To Derek Tarpey our DJ you kept our reception on track to make sure we got done everything we needed to do without it feeling like we were on a schedule. You are incredibly entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed your playlist for the night. Having our wedding at The Ridge was the best decision we could have made. I loved how they already had vendors come with the package. They all were amazing! The day of the wedding ran so smooth. Wendy was so helpful. She had all the decorations set up exactly how i had asked. The reception could not have gone better. Everyone loved the lay out of the reception rooms. Some people didn't want to dance so they enjoyed being away from the music at their dinner table. While others hung out at the bar. People could go where they wanted and weren't stuck in the same room. I really liked that! The food was amazing! Everyone is still talking about it! The mushroom ravioli is a must try!! Not everyone loves cake. So having the dessert table was so nice! People could come and get what they wanted when they wanted. The only down side of this venue is the hotel locations. They have different building and are scattered throughout the property. Our guests were scattered throughout 5 different buildings. Some were down a steep hill. My bridesmaids had the worst room. Their view was a tennis court. Outside their window was the fence to the court. It looked like bars on their windows :/ \rA plus side was the bbq area at one of the buildings. Anonymous (bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-08-2014 I came two days early to make sure everything was prepared. Blair is a nice person, but I was disappointed to realize at the reception that some of the decorations I'd come early to discuss were not taken care of. Overall, Blair seems good, but you should rely on her for the overall plan of the wedding and not the little details.\r\rYou would think that renting a reception space and paying for a full service meal for a large group of guests would grant you permission for a car parking space for the bride and groom. You would be wrong. Not only did the guard tell my husband and I that we needed to turn around our car and take the shuttle to our reception, but he yelled at us.\r\rOur guests were warned in advance to park elsewhere. However, we were under that understanding the we would be able to rush up there in our car due to the post-ceremony photos. We also thought the photographer was allowed to park there, but he was told to turn around. I later found out that the manager of The Eagle's Nest mistook one of my guests for the photographer and yelled at him for parking, even though that guest has no car.\r\rWe were told that we could bring our own cake and store it in the refrigerator, and it would be set out two hours before the reception. It was stored in the deep-freezer and only brought to the venue at the start of the reception. When we went to cut the cake,it was still frozen solid.\r\rOur contract said that we had the venue until 9 pm, but that we would be allowed to pay for another hour if we needed it. We were also told that the live band would not be an issue. The manager of the venue came in BEFORE 9pm and VERY rudely shut down the sound system and told our guests to leave. I felt more like I was a dog crapping on someone's lawn than a hostess at my large, expensive event.\r\rThe venue told us that we could come back the next day to pick up the bottles of wine which hadn't been opened (we brought our own). When we came back to get the wine,it was gone.\r\rThe one positive thing I can say is that the food from the event-planning chef is excellent. I was happy to see that they had some good vegetarian options (especially the delicious mushroom ravioli), so I could have those choices available for the diverse tastes of my guests. Rachel Felix(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-07-2013 The Ridge has always had a special place in my heart because that is where I met my husband, and we were lucky enough to get married there too! We could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding. Everything seemed to go just as planned and the food was GREAT! We initially worked with Blaire as our wedding coordinator, who was very professional and accommodating. A few months before the wedding, we began to work with Veronica who, I believe, was new at the time; however, she was very pleasant and communicated very well. If we had to do it all over it again, we would not change a thing. We were more than happy with what the Ridge provided in service, atmosphere, and food. Reviewed on 05-09-2013
Anna August(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-09-2012 We had our wedding reception here and our ceremony down at the Tahoe shore. It is a beautiful site for both ceremony and reception, and reasonably affordable. The package deal makes planning from a distance (try 3000 miles!) less terrifying. We used all of their recommended vendors and really loved all of them. The food is really good and the service from the servers and bartenders is awesome. Coordination services were good from a distance, but left much to be desired the weekend of the wedding. Our complaints were met with care and generosity and the great vendors prevented total disaster, so overall we were very pleased. I've only done one wedding so as far as I can tell, it's easier on the budget than some places. Even if you aren't getting married, definitely stay at the resort, it's beautiful and the customer service is great! Reviewed on 19-09-2012
Dylan Mayhew(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2012 When I first saw pictures of this place I thought it was so beautiful. We looked at other places but I had a gut feeling all along I wanted to get married here. The venue is beautiful but we opted for a beach wedding and reception at the ridge because the ridge wedding site is sandwiched between two buildings and a hot tub. It's really pretty, just wasn't our thing. Anyway, the reception was BEAUTIFUL. The food was spectacular and everyone had a wonderful time. Everything came together so beautifully, I could not have imagined a more beautiful day. The theme of the place is rustic and decorated with bears so we played off that and created a rustic theme with bears. This was the perfect spot for our wedding and we had about 70 guests and it was the PERFECT size. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the coordinators could be really hard to get a hold of at times, but I think they are working on that. I say if you are looking for a beautiful rustic place for a relatively small wedding this is the place for you =) Reviewed on 14-07-2012
Sabrina Tolle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2011 I had my reception at the Ridge and they went above and beyond what was expected. Originally I had Kailey as my wedding planner, who promised so many extras for our wedding. She left and I went through two other wedding planners. The last planner I worked with, Teresa, did all the extras that were promised to me originally and much more. They helped with my flower arrangements, setting up the morning of the wedding, the planner stayed at my wedding ceremony, and they helped with music. The food (we had pasta) was AMAZING! I never had to worry about a thing the day of the ceremony and would not have changed a thing! I would highly recommend having a wedding and/or reception at the Ridge.\rThe only complaint I have is the The Ridge Tahoe Resort seems a little unorganized. Reviewed on 27-10-2011
Denise Wittstock(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-09-2011 The property is beautiful but does take some coordination to get around if you have a lot of guests staying there. The staff was very nice and helpful. Teri and Theresa, despite some coordinator juggling, were very helpful and the ceremony went off without a hitch! The Grand View Garden is beautiful and very intimate for a small ceremony. The shuttle service on property and through the local BlueGo company was a plus since the Ridge is about 10-12 minutes away from downtown. Definitely happy with our choice! Reviewed on 12-09-2011

Robyn Edmunds(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-07-2011 Our wedding venue was picked site unseen. We trusted pictures from their web site and assistance from their co-ordinator Teresa Sexton. We were not dissappointed at all. The venue is so romantic and gorgeous and the staff was incredible. Reviewed on 11-08-2011
Elayne Epps(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2011 The food and catering was amazing! The wedding coordinator (Sandra) however was the most unorganized, flaky, and made our wedding so much more stressful than it needed to be. The guests had a horrible time getting into their rooms that they had booked in advance and luckily they had brought their confirmation papers. Reviewed on 24-07-2011
Erin and Watson Kambenja(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-05-2011 Everyone at the Ridge was very friendly and helpful. We had to do our wedding indoors because it was too cold and it was till beautiful. The only thing I didn't like much was the floor plan because not all the tables could see the head table and everyone had to move to another room for the dancing. Otherwise, we like the venue a lot! Sydnee Schultz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-03-2011 We had the most wonderful ceremony and reception at The Ridge! Having Kailey as our coordinator made things so easy and accessible. The package included our photographer, food, florist, cake, officiant and DJ. Planning from 300 miles away seemed daunting, but Kailey made it possible and amazing. We had such a great time. We have had tons of compliments on the food especially. People keep saying \"I can't believe how good 'wedding' food can be\". Reviewed on 30-03-2011
