Located between the beautiful coastal towns of Scituate and Cohasset, The River Club is a private venue for your South Shore Dream Wedding. We offer almost unlimited flexibility when planning your wedding. From the food, bar, timing, layout, and arrangements. We only host one wedding per day and you choose the time. Angela and her team at The River Club, knocked it out of the park with our wedding! The River Club is a well-oiled machine. They know exactly what they’re doing, and they put on an exceptional event!We were so pleased with how organized, detail-oriented, responsive, patient, and knowledgeable everyone in the organization was. All the planning meetings were so organized, and we felt super confident that this wasn’t their first rodeo yet didn’t feel like we were just another wedding.One of my favorite parts of planning is that they request that you also drop off your décor about 10 days before the event and that was super helpful to have that checked off our list so we weren’t scrambling leading up to the wedding. I also loved that on the big day the newlyweds have a private concierge who is specifically there to help ease their day. From organizing the first look across the street, to corralling our big bridal parties, to getting us to eat and drink – we felt so attended to and cared for. Not to mention, having a private bridal party suite on site with a private bathroom was such a nice added bonus. All of these details would have made for a perfect event, but to top it off, the grounds are absolutely stunning. You can tell Angela and her team care so much about every detail of the venue -- the ceremony site, waterfall, seasonal flowers, landscaping, indoor twinkle lights – the venue is truly exquisite. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the venue and the team at The River Club. If you’re thinking of a South Shore wedding, I highly recommend The River Club!

I cannot even begin to explain how happy we were with this venue. The staff did such an amazing job from start to finish. we had no stress day of due to the staff being so helpful and accommodating! All of our guests had only the best to say about every interaction they had with staff. The food was 10/10 amazing. The drinks and bar staff were perfect! I loved how the venue provided decor and we didn’t have to worry too much about every detail because they handled it all so well!I would recommend this venue over and over again. We had a couple last minute changes and they accommodated them perfectly. Everyone was respectful, professional, and so helpful!

I cannot even begin to explain how happy we were with this venue. The staff did such an amazing job from start to finish. we had no stress day of due to the staff being so helpful and accommodating! This was the most perfect place to have my wedding! I cannot express just how amazing the venue and the staff were! It is a beautiful venue, we got married at the pavillion on their gorgeous garden grounds and the whole venue has so many beautiful spaces. The venue alone is stunning, so any decor you add will only enhance how beautiful the venue is. The staff at The River Club will blow you away with how amazing they are! Throughout the entire year for planning they were always there to help me and answer any questions I had. On the actual wedding day their execution of the day was flawless. The food was delicious! Couldn’t have been more perfect!

This was the most perfect place to have my wedding! I cannot express just how amazing the venue and the staff were! The River Club is truly a dream wedding venue. We worked with Angela and Maria as our wedding coordinators, and them and all of their staff were excellent - highly organized, responsive, so friendly. The day of the wedding, everything was absolutely perfect. I could not have imagined that a wedding could possibly go so smoothly with so little stress. The view, food, service and staff are unmatched. I cannot recommend The River Club enough. Every one of our guests commented on how incredible the food and venue was. The package include so much, you don't have to worry about so many little details. The sunset patio was incredible for pictures. Maria, Angela and Niki and the rest of the staff were absolutely incredible. They helped to make our day seamless and so enjoyable for us. They went above and beyond with making sure we had fun, everything looked great, ate the incredible food, and remembered everything at the end of the night. I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else!

I’m not sure where to start for this absolutely incredible experience. My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at The River Club. When beginning to look around for venues, I had done a quick search for places and The River Club was the first venue I chose to peruse. I decided to call, and the minute I spoke with Maria (who was very quick to respond), I knew we had found our location. To begin with, Angela and Maria are kind, lovely, who genuinely want to make your wedding perfect. Honestly, absolutely everything provided exceeded our hopes and expectations. The entire process of planning was so easy – made seamless. They made every effort to accommodate us in every way to make it the most special day for us. They were always quick to respond, making communication simple. The table settings were gorgeous, the drinks were perfect, and the plated meals and their presentation were outstanding. For our ceremony, we were planning to get married outside at their gorgeous pavilion, but unfortunately, it rained that morning and I wasn’t sure we would be able to. Being able to wait as last-minute as possible and actually being able to be married outside when I thought we wouldn’t be able to, was absolutely a dream come true. During the reception, the staff were amazing and kind to everyone, and treated us, literally, like royalty. Our friends and family raved for weeks about how incredible everything was. I cannot recommend this venue, and all of it’s staff, enough. A million thanks to Angela and Maria for giving us an unbelievable day, and memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

The first thing we noticed about The River Club is that Angela Maria and Niki found a way to say yes to all our daughter’s dreams! My daughter wanted a special space full of warmth. And they made everything a terrific success! The food was spectacular and the service impeccable! We had over 200 guests and everyone got special attention. I cannot think of a better place that could have set the ambiance, elegance and superb comfort The River Club is able to naturally create! We will always remember and be thankful the joy The River Club gave to my daughter and her husband!

We cannot speak highly enough about The River Club! They were incredibly easy to work with from the very start. Angela and her team made our wedding planning process seamless. Their venue is absolutely stunning, from the outside area with a pergola for an outdoor ceremony, waterfalls, a fire pit, the cigar area for cocktail hour, the gorgeous white piano in the cocktail area inside, the full (!!) bar, the twinkle lights in the dining room.. the entire venue is just perfect. It comes with everything- tables, chairs, linen, dinnerware, glassware, a bar with bartenders, a kitchen. You don’t have to rent any equipment or hire any bartenders or caterers. It made our lives so much easier while we were planning our big day! Not to mention the food and drinks were INCREDIBLE. On the day of the wedding, we were met at the venue by our own personal attendant who waited on us hand and foot. We didn’t lift a finger all day. Because of their service, we were able to be present in each moment with each other and soak in the best day of our lives. Additionally, we rented the house on the property for the entire wedding party and their +1s. The house is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of space. We were able to get ready at the house in the morning, including four hair and makeup artists with plenty of room to work. We had an after party at the house which was the perfect way to keep the party going. Angela and her team even wrapped up our late night leftovers and brought them over to the house for the after party! We cannot recommend The River Club highly enough! 5+ stars!

As my husband and I started the wedding planning process, fate brought us to The River Club. My (the bride) parents had both passed away prior to our wedding (September 9, 2023). Not knowing at the time that we booked The River Club for our reception venue, my aunt proceeded to tell me that my parents had had their wedding reception at The River Club 30+ years ago. After sharing this with the owner, Angela, she couldn’t have made my husband and I feel more like family if she tried. Angela and her entire team were absolutely wonderful through the entire planning process. Angela is so kind, professional, detail oriented and EXTREMELY good at her job! I sent her so many emails with questions and she NEVER made me feel like I was bothering her or was asking stupid questions. Every email was responded to within 15 minutes with an answer that put me at ease. Her staff was extremely attentive the day of our wedding. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and Angela and her team played a huge role in that! We got married off site at my church and had our cocktail hour and reception at The River Club. The food was spectacular; all of our guests raved about it the night of and are still raving about it 2 months later! We will only recommend The River Club to anyone needing a wedding venue! 10 out of 10 experience! Thank you Angela and the entire staff at The River Club!

As my husband and I started the wedding planning process, fate brought us to The River Club. My (the bride) parents had both passed away prior to our wedding (September 9, 2023). My husband and I got married at the River Club in July 2023 and were beyond impressed with their professionalism and efficiency - as were my parents. Angela and the River Club team have truly made this a seamless process designed to keep things as easy as possible for you while you're planning your wedding. You are truly getting an incredible deal as I learned from comparing notes with friends also planning their own weddings. Chair rentals? Cake cutting fees? Never heard of them! Having so much provided in the venue rental allowed us to dedicate our time to more important aspects of the wedding planning process.Angela and her team were all delights to work with and made sure all of our questions and concerns were answered and addressed with kindness and professionalism. They provided us with an awesome vendor list which I highly suggest utilizing for all my RC brides-to-be. The River Club staff is a well-oiled machine that makes your day flow perfectly and without hiccups. Finally, the food was spectacular. Our guests are still raving about it whenever the day comes up. They accommodated all of our allergen restrictions (and we had quite a few) with ease. We couldn't recommend the River Club more for your wedding! Every rule they have and process they follow is for a reason - trust them and be continuously impressed by your experience for one of the best days of your life.

If you’re even slightly considering The River Club, DO IT! This place has “dream wedding” written all over it. We had THE perfect day and couldn’t have ask for a better group to work with throughout the process. From the day we made our first visit, to the day we made our final exit, we had zero complaints. The Lazaris family is with you every step of the way and will always reassure you that you will have THE perfect day. Not that many venues in the south shore area charge you simply based off food and drinks. You are getting so much bang for your buck. If any changes needed to be made, they were made at ease. If you’re ever worried about rain, they can easily make the switch to inside. If you want to go buffet style vs plated, you can. If you want to have 40 people or 140 people, they can make it work. If you want to take pictures next to the ocean or garden, have at it. What more can you ask for. Our wedding over two months ago, and people are still talking about how gorgeous it was and how much they loved our venue. All that being said, CHOOSE THE RIVER CLUB!

If you’re ever worried about rain, they can easily make the switch to inside. If you want to go buffet style vs plated, you can. If you want to have 40 people or 140 people, they can make it work. If you want to take pictures next to the ocean or garden, have at it. What more can you ask for. Our wedding over two months ago, and people are still talking about how gorgeous it was and how much they loved our venue. All that being said, CHOOSE THE RIVER CLUB!

The River Club was everything we had dreamed of for our special day! Angela and her team went above and beyond throughout the entire process to help make our wedding absolutely perfect! From our very first meeting to tour the venue, we fell in love with the idea of hosting our big day in Scituate on the beautiful grounds of the River Club. The process to make our decision was super easy given how simplified all the offerings the River Club has to offer are. The menu, details, and pricing is super transparent which really helped us understand if the choice made sense – spoiler alert it did =)Once we signed that contract, the planning process began and working with Angela and her team is like a well-oiled machine. All the choices we needed to make and details that needed to be selected were right there for us to make. We thoroughly enjoyed the food tasting (more to come on the food) and all the check-in meetings to ensure we were staying right on track! The entire team was extremely communicative through our entire planning process. Now for the big day, the entire thing went off without a hitch – it was absolutely perfect. The RC staff made sure we felt like royalty and no detail was left untouched. All of our vendors reported back extremely pleasant experiences partnering with the River Club from pre event planning to the very end of the night. Really the only negative part about working with the River Club is at some point the magic has to end! About the food, we were blown away. It is now almost 2 months since our big day and we still have guests texting us about how delicious everything was and how beautiful the venue is. Everything on the food and drink front was amazing, especially the larger staff the helped pull everything together. I would definitely recommend The River Club! One of the main things that drew us to the venue was obviously its gorgeous indoor and outdoor facilities, but also that they supply a lot of typical wedding decorations (such as welcome signs, Mr. & Mrs. signs, mantel décor, etc.). We cannot say enough good things about our experience with The River Club! It’s obviously gorgeous and their professionalism was more than I could have asked for. A thunder storm started to roll in about 20 minutes before our ceremony started. They kept me stressed free, had both the inside and outside set up and they let me decide which way I wanted to go with about 5 minutes to spare so I could have my dream ceremony. Our guests had the best time, the staff was incredible, the food was amazing, and planning was made as easy as possible. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

When I saw the river club for the first time on instagram, I knew I wanted to have my wedding there! Touring the venue in person completely solidified it. It is simply the most gorgeous wedding venue and it was exactly what I was looking for. This is a spectacular location for a wedding. It has beautiful photo opportunities all around, from the patio across the street overlooking the river, the pavilion, to the avenue of flowers outside, and the fire pit most of our guests used the entire time. The town is engulfed by the ocean which was a necessity for me! The fact that it’s also private for just you and your guests and private parking is amazing. You feel like you’re being completely catered to and the sole focus which I personally loved on my wedding day. Having a concierge that day that took care of just me and my husband was much needed and was so wonderful. I didn’t realize how much you need someone to look after you throughout the day because it’s an incredibly overwhelming day. The staff was phenomenal, I’ve been to so many weddings and I can’t believe my wedding was so incredible. Thank you to Angela, Maria and Niki, I felt so comfortable with them guiding me and overseeing the entire process and day without fault! Highly recommend this venue!

The sunset pictures from the patio across the street are my absolute favorite, it’s magical. You won’t regret taking the 10 minutes away for that picture. There wasn’t one detail that wasn’t perfect, when they tell you the day goes by fast it seriously does, enjoy every moment! I’m so incredibly thankful to Angela and all the river club staff!

The whole process was overwhelming for us but we were taken care of by angela and her team the entire time. They responded to all of our questions so quickly and they made us feel incredibly welcome. The grounds are so incredibly beautiful, the twinkle lights inside and outside gives it that special touch and is why we originally booked it. Perfect venue!! The set up is amazing because every table is in a good spot, the food was AMAZING, and the DJ is on a platform which gives the dance floor a good vibe. The fire pit outside and cigar lounge gave people who didn’t want to dance a place to socialize and have fun. The only downside was we had the full open bar and I was under the impression that meant every drink was included, however one guest ordered a whiskey and was told $25.

My husband and I got married here on 10/1/22. I can’t stress enough how amazing this venue is. First off, it’s absolutely stunning inside and out. We were able to scale back our own decor/flowers because of how wonderful this place already looked. Second, the food was amazing! Every appetizer and the main courses were delicious (would absolutely recommend choosing the chicken quesadillas as an app!). Third, the staff are SO attentive to everything. From the second we reached the venue, my husband and I didn’t have to worry about a single thing! We were able to do everything that people say you don’t get a chance to do on your wedding day- we ate our full meals at our sweetheart table (thanks to Seg for bringing us to our table and giving us minute by minute updates), we got a moment alone after the ceremony to take in what just happened, and we got to talk to all of our guests! The communication between the team at The River Club is flawless. They also worked very well with all of our vendors. If something did go wrong, I know Angela and her team handled it before we could possibly notice! They’re also very responsive in the planning process. Overall, this place was a hidden gem for us! We stayed in the house on sight the night before and night of the wedding. It was such a hidden gem to have that available. I ended up forgetting my veil at the River club the night of the wedding in the bridal suite and Angela made sure I grabbed it before we left the house. I want to start by saying, I really had high hopes for this venue because everything went just as I expected until my actual wedding day which was the most important part and I was very disappointed with the outcome. I will start by saying what went well since there were a few things. The food was really good, from the guests point of view they thought everything ran smoothly and the venue was gorgeous. Angela was quick with email responses when I had questions and was accommodating up UNTIL the drop off date for my wedding decorations and the actual wedding day. They switched my drop off time the day of, which I was perfectly okay with because there were circumstances that happened out of their control and I was able to accommodate them. A half hour later after I agreed to a new drop off time of 8 PM. I got a rude email saying “ Ali I can't do 8 pm its very late. I will do 5 pm, please don't be late because I have a rehearsal after.” After explaining why we couldn’t do 5 pm ( we live an hour and a half away and this was a Thursday we both have full time jobs) they agreed to 8. They said Maria will be there at 8. When I got to the venue around 7:50, I went inside and they had a venue tour going on! How would 8 PM be too late for a bride dropping off her wedding decor but not for a venue tour?! The tour left a few minutes before we sis after dropping off all our stuff. I was extremely shocked and upset thinking they were prioritizing the tour over my wedding which now I completely understand since it’s seems like they are typical sales people. What didn’t go well was that while I was eating dinner, the sweetheart table collapsed and fell to the floor. My husband was not sitting down at the time and it was just me, when it finally hit me what had happened, I had to walk out of my own wedding because I was embarrassed and extremely upset. The photographer and videographer were the ones to say “let’s go outside and take pictures” so that I wouldn’t be seen crying in front of my guests. One of my engraved champagne glasses broke but I was reimbursed by Angela for them. Which is the only thing they did to compensate us. We got married at a separate location and were late getting to the reception a little bit but they made sure to tell me over and over again that we were behind which made me super anxious and was rushing around. When my aunt and mum arrived before me with flowers for head table, Angela didn’t even welcome them and was rude asking why my aunt had flowers and where they were going. I emailed her prior to my wedding day ASKING if it was okay first off and then telling her what we were bringing and where they would be going. The DJ didn’t get to the ceremony until 3:45 and it started at 4! Angela would not let him into the building. We previously had agreed that Angela would allow him in at 1:30 so he can set up before going to the ceremony so he would have enough time. It caused me to be very stressed out a half hour before I got married because the DJ wasn’t there and he was supposed to be there at 3. My sister was calling him in the limo on the way to my ceremony! Angela ignored my emailed twice about why the DJ wasn’t let in. Guests did not have good interactions with Angela or the other staff on my wedding day, they said they were rude and seemed to not care about how they spoke to guests. I did thank Angela at end of night to be polite but over the past few days talking to guests I keep getting more disappointed.

I would book this venue again without hesitation and I really hope to attend a wedding here as a guest one day to experience the magic once again!!!!

I’m so incredibly happy we chose this venue, from the decor it included and to have almost everything included really made it easy for me as a nurse who works long hours. Angela, Nikki and their River Club team brought our wedding dreams into a reality. My husband and I got married in June and it was the most magical day from the second we stepped foot onto the property. Seeing everything put together EXACTLY how I would envision it was incredible. They also make sure that both the bride and the groom have everything they need and more. It truly was the best day we could have asked for! Don’t even get me started on the food though…. Everyone including myself and my husband rave that our wedding had the absolute best food at a wedding ever!!! So delicious! If I could, I would choose The River Club over and over again 100 times however no weddings are in our future again, one is enough! I just got married a couple of days ago, but I couldn't wait to rave about the River Club! Angela and her team made our wedding experience so amazing, every step of the way. They were kind, professional, and they guided us through the process with patience, care, and style. The venue is simply beautiful, and it is clear that the team maintains it meticulously. For our wedding, Angela also made sure to add special decorative touches to the venue that really upped the wow factor. We had a multi-cultural wedding, and the team did not hesitate to accommodate our traditions and our many food preferences. In fact, the team whipped up a special Greek dessert bar for us, and let me tell you, our guests couldn't get enough! They all took cups of the dessert home because it was just so delicious, as were the rest of the meals. Prior to our ceremony, we also experienced an unexpected change in the bridesmaid numbers, and Angela and the team did not skip a beat. They adapted and ushered in a perfect ceremony, like the seasoned professionals that they are. All of our guests couldn't stop talking about the beauty of the venue, the wonderful food, and the superb professionalism of the staff. All of this is true, but what impressed me the most was the beautiful kindness and gentleness of the team. It was a chilly day, and we took lots of photos outside and had an outdoor ceremony. I was shaking for some of the time (as I had expected ). But the team was constantly there for me, bringing me my scarf. and at times, even giving me their own coat to keep me warm. I felt supported, safe (security was great), and valued. I was truly amazed by how wonderful my experience was, and I'm sure you will be too. Have your wedding here - I promise you, it will be spectacular!

This review is long overdue, but I had my wedding at the river club in July and I can’t say enough good things about Angela and her team! This was a postponed wedding from last year and Angela was so supportive in my decision to postpone. There were also no issues whatsoever in postponing and everything was made seamless.Angela is amazing and definitely puts her brides first, especially the day of the wedding. It was so nice showing up the day of the wedding and not having to worry about a thing. Angela and her team are pros in this business and have this down to a science! You definitely do not need any sort of day of coordinator or anything. They take care of all the decorations, details, and most importantly the timeline! The food was amazing! Everyone commented on how good the food was. It was very important to me to have good food served at my wedding, which was one reason why I chose the river club. My husband’s sister and brother in law are kosher and after finding a kosher caterer to deliver a few meals, Angela took their contact information and made sure delivery and timing was all sorted out! Angela really was amazing and I can’t thank her enough for making my wedding the best day! It was well worth the wait.

The River Club is an absolute wedding venue dream. Angela, Niki and Maria run a team of professional event staffing that is top notch. We had to post-pone our wedding date due to COVID and we were graciously given dates to choose from and ease of transition. They kept strong communication throughout the entire process, which is key in a vendor/client relationship. The property is an absolutely dream full with a fire pit, wrap around porch for cocktail hour and the perfect dance floor. I felt taken care of from the moment I signed the contract. They truly have your best interest in order to have the best wedding or event. The day-of was seamless with Niki as our concierge guiding guest and the bridal party to their designated places. Our cake was unfortunately imploded upon arrival but the River Club's chefs were able to magically manipulate it to look presentable just hours later. They saved us big time!!! I would highly recommend this venue for the team, the value and absolutely stunning grounds to make a picturesque wedding dream. Thanks River Club!!!

I am so sad to post this mediocre review. I wanted so badly to praise The River Club completely. Our wedding there was beautiful and incredibly fun, no doubt, and the food was amazing (guests commented that it was the best they have had at a wedding). I have two main reasons for removing two stars, areas that I think The River Club can improve on:1) There is not nearly as much flexibility as I expected when I planned my wedding. Angela does things by the book and is very strict about certain things. We butted heads on a few topics during planning. That said, The River Club policies did loosen up a bit because of COVID, which helped. And Angela was incredibly accommodating when we postponed our wedding due to COVID.2) There was some disorganization the day of the wedding. For example, when guests arrived, the staff was supposed to show the guests to their seats outside. We had a Ketubah ceremony for immediate family inside before the wedding ceremony, and I didn't want other guests to see me, the bride. For some reason, guests were piling inside as we were trying to have our special ceremony. They could see me on the other side of the room and were being loud/disruptive. I had to send family members over, multiple times, to try to get them removed. There were some other times where I was disappointed at the disorganization too, like guests told me that it took forever to get drinks at the bar. My mom complained that no one was assigned to make sure she always had a drink and was cared for, which she experienced for my brother's wedding at a different venue in the area. Additionally, some guests came to me and told me the staff were rude to them at times.Overall, I appreciate everything The River Club did and certain aspects were fantastic and what I dreamed of, but I have to be honest about the troubles I faced too.

Angela and Maria were absolutely amazing through the whole process. So it was no surprise the entire staff on the wedding day were spectacular. Angela and her team at The River Club made my wedding look and feel like a fairy tale wedding! I visited The River Club as just my second venue and I knew it was the one. My husband and I drove off and I had him turn around to make the deposit right then and there because I loved the venue and the staff so much! We had our small wedding ceremony at the River Club last Saturday on our original wedding date we had planned, 1/23/2021. Angela was an absolute blessing to deal with during the stress of having a wedding scheduled during this pandemic. She allowed us to change our date for the reception without hesitation, and worked with us to still make sure our ceremony on our original date was absolutely perfect despite COVID. Even with limited people in attendance, Angela pulled out all of the stops for us. She was professional, kind, and completely accommodating. It is so evident that Angela truly cares about the brides and grooms she works with. We are beyond thrilled with our experience with the River Club, and we cannot wait to have our dream wedding with Angela and all of her staff at the end of the year.

We had gotten married in August 2020, and it was absolutely spectacular. We got married during Covid, and although it wasn’t originally what we had planned, I could not ask for a better day. Throughout the process and the many emails and phone calls, Angela was always there helping guide us on what decisions we should make. The tent was beautiful, one side we had the beautiful grounds that had the flowers, and the other side had the river view. Our guests are still raving about it! Thank you so much to Angela and her staff for making it a fun, safe experience!

Looking for a venue we found The River Club in Scituate. The pictures don’t do it justice. We drove up for a tour to see the space and the grounds and location are absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, our wedding was during COVID and we couldn’t have it indoors. Our only option was to have it outdoors in a tent and as we were a little nervous to see how it would come out it ended up being better than what we could have imagined. There were twinkle lights around the tent and our backdrop for our sweetheart table was the beautiful grounds and flowers. I never pictured my wedding to be outside but the way it all came out and Angela helping us through the entire process made it so easy!! Angela made sure we had a great time while being safe and following all the regulations. Our guests won’t stop telling us how beautiful our wedding was and how perfect it all came together while being in the middle of a pandemic.

My husband and I got married at The River Club and what a venue it is!! When we first toured we fell in love with the grounds and how beautiful the outdoors is. We got married in February pre Covid lockdowns which we were very fortunate and it was such a magical night. Angela was amazing, she makes you feel like everything will be perfect and more. As stressful brides that's all you worry about, so she made the planning process so much easier. My husband and I got married at The River Club and what a venue it is!! When we first toured we fell in love with the grounds and how beautiful the outdoors is. I got married at The River Club in December 2019. It recently was our 1 year anniversary and when we look back on our wedding day it was nothing but beyond amazing. The venue was everything you see in pictures and 10 times more and the staff were so professional and accommodating. Angela is the woman who manages all of the weddings and we wouldn't have had such an amazing experience if it wasn't for her. She went through every detail with us and guided us until the day we got married. I recommend The River Club to any and every future bride!!

We fell in love with the venue/grounds, but had no idea what we were dealing with. Angela is beyond unprofessional. We could tolerate the unprofessional email address and poor communication, but her behavior on our wedding day was beyond unacceptable. Angela was nasty, overbearing, and verbally abusive to her staff AND our vendors. She made one of my vendors cry because she was so nasty. My mom (the Mother of the Bride) overheard her and said \"There is no reason one human being should ever speak to another the way she spoke to your vendor.\" This left me (the Bride) feeling like I was responsible for Angela's behavior.I received numerous complaints from my DJ and other vendors who attempted to communicate with Angela about the event only to receive incoherent messages or no response at all. When our wedding day finally came, Angela was disorganized, leading her to yell at people for things she had told them to do/not do. For example, our DJ was told not to arrive before 4:15pm. At 3:45, Angela demanded that we call the DJ and ask where she was. She even had the audacity to yell at ME on my wedding day. She said, \"YOU never told me what you want your processional to look like.\" Having heard about how she was treating everyone else, I snapped back at her, \"Well YOU never asked!\" I have never been a bride before, so I don't know what is needed from me- she does this all the time. Our wedding was COLD. Due to COVID we had to be in a tent outside. Angela assured us that several sides of the tent would be down and that heaters would be available. Well, only one side of the tent was down and she refused to do more than that. People ended up crowding around the heaters because the temp dropped into the 30s (so much for social distancing..) Several guests asked for hot beverages (coffee, tea) and the staff REFUSED to get them, saying they were only available for dessert. A few wedding guests left early because they were too uncomfortable being in the cold.I wanted The River Club to be my dream come true and we were willing to forgo a little professionalism to make it happen. Unfortunately nothing prepared us for how horrific Angela acted on the day of our wedding. It basically felt like she couldn't end the night soon enough (she even tried to get the DJ to stop the music earlier than planned until I caught on). Our DJ also warned her of a piece of metal sticking out on a walkway, which Angela ignored. Our DJ ended up SLICING HER SHOE OPEN on this piece of metal. It could have hurt someone and Angela did not care. It's up to you to figure out what is most important to you on your wedding day. I have no patience for people who are verbally abusive to others, which is why I regret giving my business to Angela. Her staff may have been wonderful, the food may have been good, but someone like Angela does not deserve more business.

The River Club was the first and only vent we looked at. It checked all the boxes for us. It is an absolutely beautiful venue. We booked long before covid and had our hearts set on an indoor reception where we could fully enjoy the fireplace and the gorgeous interior. It was a difficult shift when the restrictions forced us outside. I was apprehensive because an outdoor wedding at the end of October was not something I wanted or something I was sure we could pull off.Angela and the entire staff at The River Club were amazing. Angela was in constant communication with us with every change of the guidelines and was ready to do whatever needed to be done to make sure we had the perfect day. She was amazing and made a very stressful time less of a burden. Although an outdoor wedding was not something we planned on it was absolutely beautiful. The tent was beautiful with twinkle lights and heaters. We provide guests with blankets as the night got cooler. The entire staff went above and beyond and provided the most perfect night for us. Seg made sure that my husband and I had whatever we needed throughout the entire night. The only complaint we have is that it went by so fast...it was a night we did not want to end. The staff even took care of my grandmother when she got cold and made her comfortable inside with a cup of tea and a blanket. Our guests have not stopped telling us how amazing everything from the food to the ambiance was (even now almost 2 weeks later)! We are so grateful for all the help and support The River Club provided to us. Wedding planning is stressful to begin with let alone when you throw a pandemic into the mix and Angela and her staff didn't falter once. They were committed to making sure our wedding was more than we could have imagined and they succeeded!

My now husband and I were struggling hard trying to find a venue that would fit our budget and also check all the other boxes. We viewed quite a few places and we were just about to settle on one when this came as a recommendation to us from a colleague of mine. When we arrived and toured the grounds we instantly knew this was the place we wanted to get married. We fell in love with it inside and out. Throughout the planning process Angela and her staff were so great about helping me bring my wedding vision together for our 4/4/20 wedding... then COVID happened. I believe we were one of the first weddings that had to be cancelled (20 days away from our I Do's when MA shut down). Angela immediately sprung into action and helped us find a new date.. then another new date when things didn't get better in time. We finally had our wedding on 9/19 and while it was nothing like I pictured, it was still incredible. Angela found ways for us to still have glimmer's of our original plan, they were extremely safe and cautious in respect to the pandemic, the grounds were beyond beautiful (basically fairytale), and the food was out of this world. We unfortunately were not able to have our reception inside which bummed us because it is so beautiful but that was 100% out of their control. Angela always had me at ease during this extremely stressful time, I cannot thank her enough for all that she did to give us the most amazing day ever.

The River Club was everything we wanted in a venue. It is even more beautiful in person than it looks online, and we loved that we could do the ceremony and reception in one place. The grounds are lovely, and close to both the river and the Scituate Lighthouse, where we had our first look. Our guests loved the outdoor fireplace, as did we. The food was fantastic. The Cinderella lights make the dance floor truly magical; we had a great time. Our concierge and the assistant staff were all attentive and professional. Our guests said that any needs they had (a high chair, food preferences etc.) were attended to promptly and considerately. When we met Angela in person, she was very welcoming and knowledgeable. However, she was not prompt in returning emails after we signed the contract, and I thought it was odd she used her personal email for work communications. During our wedding, she came up to us several times to ask about making changes to our timeline, which caused me stress as I don’t like making decisions last-minute. Before our wedding, when we dropped things off, I provided a detailed timeline of the wedding day outlining when everything should happen. I wished that she would have discussed any changes she wanted to make with us before the wedding day, rather than interrupting to recommend a change she preferred. Apart from these minor inconveniences, we really loved the River Club as a venue.

The River Club was the 3rd venue we looked at 2 weeks after we got engaged. We actually left and came back 5 minutes later to book our date. My husband and I loved the wedding coordinator’s vibe. Her name is Angela and she is super sweet. I cannot say how helpful she was with all questions and concerns. Every little detail was drawn out for us and even gave us late night pizza on the house! They have a house behind the venue to rent for 2 nights for the wedding party, that can sleep up to 25 people. Honestly that was one of the best parts. The house was literally 100 feet behind the venue so my hair and makeup and florist found it easily. It was so nice not to worry about shuttling the wedding party from a hotel. I would recommend 100% booking the house when you book this venue. The day of the wedding was smooth sailing. I can’t give any bad review on any details about it. The grounds are gorgeous and the food, OMG. The food is amazing and that’s one thing we didn’t want to worry about. All our guests raved about it after. I don’t think there was anyone sitting down during the reception. Everyone was up and dancing and it was a blast. Couldn’t have done it without Angela and her team.If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing!! BOOK👏🏼 THIS👏🏼 PLACE 👏🏼 NOW 👏🏼

It took everything in me to hold out on posting a review about here until post wedding. If you are an organized person (or even somebody that wants your special day to be stress free), my recommendation is to NOT use The River Club as a vendor. I did a lot of research looking for venues to see which ones fulfilled what I thought were my must haves. As to many, the venue is appealing due to the straight forward - or so I thought - approach for no rental or hidden fees. I should have caught on from the start but my husband and I decided to move forward with this venue. We ended up arranging multiple face to face meetings. I took detailed notes answering all the questions I came with and outlined items per our conversation. After these meetings, just weeks before my wedding, more than once Angela took back something she agreed upon. She lied and contradicted herself in multiple scenarios which she then stumbled when I called her out but Angela always won and got the final say.I wish all communication was housed in emails as I had to defend myself and use it for backup on more than one occasion. When I would forward this information her way (which is absolutely asinine that I have to do in the first place) she would respond unprofessional, snarky and hostile. The day of ended up being beautiful for us. I wish I had every persons name that helped things come together. This isn’t Angela, it’s her wonderful staff. Angela helicopters over you all day long. She intrudes on the Bride in an already crowded bridal suite, gets in the way of your photos and comes over to your sweetheart table every 5 minutes. Some advice to the owner - I recommend learning some e-mail etiquette and common courtesy. Own up to your mistakes. You’ll continue to look foolish if your Bride/Groom have to keep YOU on top of your responsibilities, commitments and deposits. If you want to promote your venue to be fee free you shouldn’t get displeased when your Bride doesn’t buy in to every one of your add ons. Also back out of the day of work and trust your staff. You assigned your team to me day of and every 30 seconds I had you trailing behind them asking the same thing. You shouldn’t even be there. Learn the difference between being attentive and being annoying. Go do behind the scenes work and have your daughter be the coordinator. You’re destroying your business with your fake and unprofessional personality. It took everything in me to hold out on posting a review about here until post wedding. If you are an organized person (or even somebody that wants your special day to be stress free), my recommendation is to NOT use The River Club as a vendor. I did a lot of research looking for venues to see which ones fulfilled what I thought were my must haves. As to many, the venue is appealing due to the straight forward - or so I thought - approach for no rental or hidden fees. I should have caught on from the start but my husband and I decided to move forward with this venue. We ended up arranging multiple face to face meetings. I took detailed notes answering all the questions I came with and outlined items per our conversation. After these meetings, just weeks before my wedding, more than once Angela took back something she agreed upon. She lied and contradicted herself in multiple scenarios which she then stumbled when I called her out but Angela always won and got the final say.I wish all communication was housed in emails as I had to defend myself and use it for backup on more than one occasion. When I would forward this information her way (which is absolutely asinine that I have to do in the first place) she would respond unprofessional, snarky and hostile. The day of ended up being beautiful for us. I wish I had every persons name that helped things come together. This isn’t Angela, it’s her wonderful staff. Angela helicopters over you all day long. She intrudes on the Bride in an already crowded bridal suite, gets in the way of your photos and comes over to your sweetheart table every 5 minutes. Some advice to the owner - I recommend learning some e-mail etiquette and common courtesy. Own up to your mistakes. You’ll continue to look foolish if your Bride/Groom have to keep YOU on top of your responsibilities, commitments and deposits. If you want to promote your venue to be fee free you shouldn’t get displeased when your Bride doesn’t buy in to every one of your add ons. Also back out of the day of work and trust your staff. You assigned your team to me day of and every 30 seconds I had you trailing behind them asking the same thing. You shouldn’t even be there. Learn the difference between being attentive and being annoying. Go do behind the scenes work and have your daughter be the coordinator. You’re destroying your business with your fake and unprofessional personality. My wedding was an absolute dream thanks to Angela and her staff. I found this venue randomly on Facebook and knew from the second I saw pictures that I had to go take a look. I fell in love the second we stepped on the grounds. The outside space was amazing both during the day and at night. I wanted a venue that had a gorgeous outside and inside in case of inclement weather and The River Club didn’t disappoint. Everything was gorgeous! Angela made the planning process super easy and provided multiple check ins throughout the way to make sure everyone was on the same page. The day of the staff set up the reception EXACTLY how I wanted it! The food was amazing and we got so many compliments on it. The entire staff was super helpful and attentive to any needs me and my husband had. The continuously reminded us that it was our day and made sure we were taken care of. The price for the venue was extremely reasonable especially considering how much work they put in and how amazing everything came out. I would recommend the River Club over and over again without a hesitation!

I loved the River Club from the moment I first saw it - beautiful grounds that guests could use to enjoy the summer weather and a large open reception area with a beautiful large dancefloor! Our wedding was so amazing and I couldn't picture it anyplace else other than the River Club. Angela and her team made everything in the planning process so easy and they were incredibly accommodating. We felt like we were the only bride and groom she was planning a wedding for every time we met with her. The food was absolutely delicious and we also had a late-night snack which guests raved about! The River Club team is so organized and they make you the priority on your day! Strongly recommend this venue for any bride and groom!

We had the absolute best time at our wedding, and Angela and her staff at The River Club were a big part of making that happen! We rented the house in back of the venue and stayed for the long weekend, making it super convenient for the night of the rehearsal dinner and wedding. We met with Angela only a handful of times, but she was available if we had any questions for the 16 months after we booked. All we had to do was drop all of our decor at The River Club 10 days prior to our wedding, and Angela made our dreams come true with the decorations day of. Everything looked beyond perfect. The River Club was the first and only wedding venue I looked at. The minute we walked in, Angela gave us a big hug and made us feel at home. We booked that day and the whole planning experience with them has been seamless. Every time we went there, Angela greeted us with a big hug and made us feel like family! Every email I sent came with a quick response, questions always answered, and you can tell she really knows what she’s doing. We had such a fun time at their food tasting with our families. Every meeting we had put my mind at ease- I am such a planner and the unknown of wedding planning was stressing me out, but I always left feeling relieved. We also rented the house behind the venue which is an amazing addition- we hosted our entire wedding party there for two days and it was so much fun. Also very convenient because you can get ready on site (which is what I did- the entire upstairs has plenty of light and space for hair and makeup!). It’s also in the perfect location- not only is it on amazing grounds itself, it’s also close some great places for first look photos or any other photos- we did ours at the Scituate Lighthouse which is a short 10 min ride down the street. Pretty much every idea I had, Angela made it happen and was so so accommodating. I wish I could give them 100 stars because that is how happy we were with our experience! Our guests raved about the food and how lovely the venue was all night - and people are still texting us about how much fun they had and it was one of the best weddings they have been to. I’m biased, but it really was the best night ever and I wish I could do it again! Everything about The River Club was perfect- the decor, the different rooms, bridal suite, amazing staff, price, food, the grounds, rental house- it was everything I could have wanted. Thank you Angela & The River Club for making our wedding so special!! Definitely need to go see this venue you will not regret it!

As a Justice of the Peace, I knew that the River Club offered beautiful settings for both outdoor and indoor ceremonies but it was not until my daughter had her wedding there that I truly appreciated all the that River Club has to offer. The grounds are beautiful and offer seating if you want to spend a quiet moment with guests. In addition, the wrap around deck and separate cocktail area with a grand piano offer other areas separate from the main room for photos or conversation. The River Club has a lot of staff and they are very well organized and helpful. It is a wonderful location for a lovely wedding.

BOOK BOOK BOOK! We got married on 10/7/18 and I cannot say enough wonderful things about The River Club and everyone that works there! Angela is absolutely amazing and the venue is gorgeous! Angela made everything super easy and convenient for us. The venue was the easiest part for us to book and plan! The team that runs the club are all absolutely amazing! From Angela all the way to the security, groundskeeper and waiters/bartenders! Our wedding day was beyond perfect! I cried as soon as the bus pulled up and I saw the venue decorated for us! Do yourself a favor and book here you will not find a better place for such a special day!!

Just celebrated my daughters wedding at The River Club, it was perfection! I cannot say enough about Angela and her staff , they are awesome ! The venue is absolutely the most charming spot I could ever want for a wedding, beautiful grounds , indoors is warm and welcoming, a place that you want to revisit again and again! My husband and i knew from the moment that we walked into the river club , that it was going to be the perfect place for our wedding , and we were right . The venue itself is beautiful as well as the outside grounds . The food was delicious and our guests have all raved about how good the food was. Angela was awesome from begining to end she made the day run smooth and she was very helpful throughout the whole process. All of the staff at the river club were great as well , and they were all very friendly . We are glad we chose the river club for our wedding it was beautiful and we highly recommend the river club
