Sitting atop the shore of the Connecticut River sits The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station wedding venue, located in Haddam, CT. The elegant venue is prepared to host opulent wedding events and create everlasting experiences. The beautiful waterfront views of historic buildings and the grand interior of the venue will surely leave guests awestruck. The town of Haddam is rich with American history and features beautiful historic sites. Across the river and a 12-minute stroll from the private venue lies the historic Goodspeed Opera House. The opera house was erected in 1877 and, despite its name, was used for performing plays rather than operas. Connecting the historic house and the wedding venue is the famous Haddam Swingbridge. During the 1960s the bridge was known for its innovative build and design to help modernize means of transportation. Now the structures serve as picturesque locations while continuing to provide their intended functions. The award-winning Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station features stunning grounds with a beautiful interior. Located outside is a dazzling fountain surrounded by manicured shrubs and flowers. The venue also features picturesque riverside views of the Goodspeed Opera House and accessible wooden docks. Inside, a spacious lobby with a grand two-story staircase leads to the ballroom and dressing-room suites. The ballroom can host up to 300 guests and features vaulted ceilings and grand chandeliers. Located at the center of the room is a hardwood dance floor with easy access from all sides. Connected to the venue is an outdoor glass-roof atrium used to host ceremonies or cocktail hours. The elegant venue strives to give world-class experiences and leave guests feeling fulfilled. The venue is equipped with a four-star chef and contemporary kitchen for crafting gourmet dishes. The menu features fine American-style cuisine bursting with fresh and bold flavors. The gourmet menu presents numerous dining packages and can be tailored by either adding or excluding certain elements and dishes. Included in all packages are table linens, china, and flatware. They also include sparkling wine for pouring toasts or to enjoy at the bar and a coffee station for guests’ convenience. Furthermore, a traditional wedding cake will be provided to add that finishing touch to the celebration.

If you are looking for somewhere to get married, the Riverhouse is an absolutely incredible option! Because the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are all self-contained within the venue it takes a LOT of the stress off of the planning process.The staff was amazing! From the management team who helped us plan and organize all the details to the day of catering staff who executed everything flawlessly. We and our guests felt VERY accommodated by everything the folks at the Riverhouse provided for us. The location is gorgeous! We were able to take the short trek down the hill to the river to take photos in plenty of time to get back for the ceremony because of how close everything is. The venue gave us multiple options within where to have the ceremony which is nice. There was a good contingency plan in case of bad weather. Simply put: they are buttoned up from top to bottom and the venue, food and bar were all things we didn’t have to worry about because of the quality of everyone involved at the Riverhouse.Our guests really loved the cocktail hour! The mac and cheese bar was a huge hit and the numerous passed hors d'oeuvres were all delicious and enjoyed by everyone! Getting married is expensive, but the Riverhouse is a good value for everything that they provide for an all-inclusive event!

We had our wedding at The Riverhouse in Haddam, CT on Labor Day weekend. From start to finish, we could not have had a better experience. We got married at The Riverhouse on 10/7/23 and would get married there 100 more times! From our first tour through our wedding day - the entire process was a breeze while working with the RH staff. It was a beautiful, perfect day despite some rain showers. Thank you, Kelley, for always responding so quickly to my many panicked emails and answering my million questions. Thank you, Holly, for being such a calming presence as our wedding day coordinator. You truly put me at ease the entire day - I was not once worried about something going wrong. Thank you, Loretta, for being such a great bridal attendant. From greeting us upon arrival to packing up our leftovers - you were beyond expectations! The food was plentiful and amazing. The entire venue is beautiful. If you’re considering The Riverhouse for your big day - book them!! :)

The BEST venue with the BEST staff we could have ever asked for. Not only was everything beautiful but they made sure our day was as perfect as possible. I always wanted somewhere we could at least have pictures by the water- it ended up being perfect for our first look without the price of waterfront. We loved how much was included in the package instead of feeling like everything was an “add on” like other venues we saw. Lauren & Kelley were so helpful and accommodating in the planning process. Loretta was so sweet and a calming presence as our helpful bridal attendant. Rob deserves so much credit for everything running so seamlessly- multiple people commented on how great he was keeping everything in order running around to meet all our needs. Food was amazing too! Hands down would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. We are eternally grateful for this place and for all the wonderful staff for the perfect day!

There are not enough kind words to describe our experience with the staff at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station. From the moment we walked in and got a tour from Jim Bucko, we were sold. Each and every person we worked with along the way, Kelley, Hattie, Lauren, Rob, Holly, Brianna, was the perfect combination of easy going professionalism. Their attention to detail and obvious expertise of all things wedding made planning our reception with them an absolute dream. There was not one single instance where I was turned off by their reactions or responses. Our guests could not stop gushing about the excellence of the food and the waitstaff. If you are lucky enough to have the Riverhouse available for your wedding reception (or literally any important event) book now! You will be so glad you did.

We were originally going to do a backyard wedding but changed our minds last minute. We are so beyond lucky that the Riverhouse had availability for the day that we were planning for, even though we made our changes so last minute (exactly a year before the day). The Riverhouse was so beyond accommodating and helpful. They provided us with so many sources that were extremely helpful in helping us plan and ensure that everything was being done on time. Lauren, Hattie and Kelley were always quick to respond to my e-mails to answer my countless questions. I love how they allowed us to pick from two different times (we ended up choosing the 11-4 reception slot which I highly recommend!) They were even extra accommodating in the morning by letting us come in as early as possible to ensure that everyone was ready for our 10:30 ceremony. The food is delicious! The best part of the planning process was definitely the menu trial event that they hosted a few months before our wedding that allowed us to try almost everything on their menu so we knew exactly what our guests would be eating. It made the decision-making process so much easier. There are so many things about the Riverhouse that stick out and make it a great wedding venue. The outdoor covered patio is great for the ceremony and still allows you to be outside even if there's a little drizzle; the idea of a kid's room downstairs is perfect if you're planning on having little ones at/in your wedding; the back patio makes for a great hangout spot throughout the reception; day of coordinators that helps your day run smoothly took all of my stress away; and we loved how there were two spots for people to get drinks during cocktail hour AND passed wine to ensure that there was no bar traffic. I will always recommend this venue to anyone who wants to have their special day there--they are truly amazing!

We couldn't recommend The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station highly enough! From booking, to planning, and everything in between the process was incredibly smooth and easy. Lauren, Kelley, and Hattie took care of everything we needed and answered all of our questions as we worked towards our wedding date. They offered advice and their opinions when we became stumped and it was clear they knew exactly what we needed to make our day the best it could be. During our tasting each member of the wait staff took their time to talk to us and was extremely friendly and helpful. That attitude only grew on our wedding night as they all tended to our guests as if they were their own. We had the pleasure of working with Matt and Rob for our day of and they went above and beyond to make our vision come true. Both of them were strategic, knew our details, and shared our excitement about our ideas and different takes to our day. We were lucky enough to work with Loretta as our bridal assistant and she continued to help us throughout the night with a continued smile and excitement for each step of our day. Everything was punctual, professional, and most of all relaxing and fun. The staff at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station made our wedding day a dream come true and we will be forever greatful for them.

From the moment we stepped into the venue for the tour with Jim, working with The Riverhouse was a masterclass in how to host a wedding. We had only heard exceptional feedback about them. Nothing negative. Believe me, I looked hard to find it, too. That’s why we chose them. Now we see why. They made us feel important and comfortable every step of the way. Kelley, Hattie, Matt, and Katie were professional, responsive, and fun, and ensured we made the rounds and still had time to eat. Our attendants, Rob and Maria, made us feel like rock stars. The service and food were amazing, our guests are still raving about the hors d'oeuvres and the portion sizes at dinner. Not your typical wedding where everyone goes home hungry! We loved the food so much that we packed our leftovers up to take home. Overall, we’d say The Riverhouse venue and staff were EXCEPTIONAL!! and would highly recommend them for any occasion, especially a wedding.

I have so many good things to say about this wedding venue that I don't know where to begin. We first booked them in 2019 for a 2021 wedding that we postponed to august 2022. Jim and everyone at the venue was so nice, accommodating and understanding. The wedding day was absolutely perfect and better than I ever imagined it could be. The staff was unreasonably good, the bridal attendants were there for us and the food and drinks were on point. We did both an American and Indian ceremony and served both American and Indian food made by the chef. My indian family RAVED about the indian dinner and also all the amazing apps. If you are on the fence -THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO BOOK THEM. We have been to about 10 wedding in CT alone and THIS is the BEST venue I have ever seen hands down. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all times a million for a flawless experience and we cannot recommend this wedding venue enough.

This venue is gorgeous- classic with some rustic touches (stone wall sidings, large back deck over the forrest and river). The coordinators are beyond helpful and responsive to all wedding questions/needs. The food is great and the way they organize the bar makes it so there are no lines. We are so happy we chose the Riverhouse for our big day!

This venue is gorgeous- classic with some rustic touches (stone wall sidings, large back deck over the forrest and river). The coordinators are beyond helpful and responsive to all wedding questions/needs. The food is great and the way they organize the bar makes it so there are no lines. We are so happy we chose the Riverhouse for our big day!

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station was AMAZING to work with. We originally scheduled our wedding for Oct. 2020. As the pandemic year went on, the entire planning staff was super transparent and accommodating leading up to the unfortunate day of postponement. When that day came, we had already chosen a \"Plan B\" date in 2021, so we were able transition easily into the next year.The week of, Julie was so calm and helpful. She really made sure to check all of the boxes off during our planning meeting.The day of was, hectic, as you can assume. There was a wedding before us, so the staff needed to flip the venue in only a couple of hours. On one hand, there were some issues with the florals for centerpieces and cake - they were just sitting there and no questions were brought up to myself or any of the wedding party asking where they'd go, and the photographer pointed out a box of lanterns that weren't out for the ceremony space. However, once the moms stepped in, the corrections were made ASAP and everything looked beautiful!We asked the venue if we could have a private cocktail hour in the basement area for the wedding party only so my husband and I weren't immediately swarmed by guests. The venue was ALL ABOUT IT and got us our own server for drinks and appetizers during that hour.This venue was literally MADE for weddings! Our photographers kept moving us around taking pictures everywhere because backdrops were gorgeous. The next day, we saw our guests took advantage too! There's not a bad place for a photo op anywhere on this property.All in all, we LOVED having our wedding at The Riverhouse and would recommend it to any and every couple! Our vendors loved it, our guests loved it, food was AMAZING. Just perfection!

The PERFECT wedding venue! We had the most amazing experience at the Riverhouse and couldn't be happier! From the first time we stepped into the venue, we knew it was the place for us. From the decor, to the set up, the view off the back deck, the bridal suite, grooms room and most importantly 1 wedding at a time! It was everything we had wanted and so much more! The communication throughout the entire process was smooth and very responsive. Hattie and Kelley were amazing to work with and got back to me within 1 day. And then COVID hit and we were the very first wedding to be canceled. I mean 5 days away from having our wedding reception. We rescheduled 3 times after that. Kelley and the entire staff at the Riverhouse made this challenging time as easy as they could for us and for that we will be forever grateful. And as our day approach, Julie (our banquet manager) was wonderful to work with! She was calm, reassuring and so positive! Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and so much more! And that is all thanks to the Riverhouse and their wonderful staff. We got so many amazing compliments on the venue, food and staff! Our wedding coordinator who was with us for the entire day on our wedding was incredible- she stayed on top of the weather forecast to give us the best shot of having our ceremony outside as we wanted to. Throughout the pandemic, they kept us updated on covid policies. The food was amazing and there is a ton of food throughout the day. Overall, could not have been happier with our venue- we had an outstanding wedding day with them.

I got married at The Riverhouse June 19th 2021 and I couldn't have picked a better location for my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception! I have been a wedding planner for years, and I had very high standards for venue, catering, and service, and The Riverhouse knocked it out of the park!! Hattie and Kelley were absolutely amazing to work with. We booked during COVID (April 2020) and they kept me well informed with their policies and procedures throughout my planning process. They were quick to respond, had great ideas and made some stressful moments fun! Fast forward to the wedding day- it was incredible! Our guests are still talking about the food-it was truly amazing! The Chef worked with us to create a menu that our guests would remember, but honestly their menu and offerings don't need any changing!! Their staff was professional and moved quickly and quietly throughout the ballroom through 3 dinner courses! The ambiance throughout the Riverhouse is peaceful and elegant and my guests were blown away. It sprinkled on our wedding day and I don't think my guests even noticed (I know I didn't!). I had a bridal attendant assigned to me and my husband the day of the wedding and she lead us through the entire evening so we and my immediate family could relax and enjoy from start to finish. I cannot recommend The Riverhouse enough to anyone-you truly can't go wrong here.

The amazing service is something that we are truly in awe about because it was that good. We were married there on May 1st 2021. We had booked our wedding right before the Pandemic started. Throughout these crazy times, we were always contacted by someone who answered any questions or concerns. They truly care about their couples and it is clear it's not JUST a business. Kelley was absolutely amazing helping us plan our wedding. She was so accessible, kind, and genuinely excited to help us in any way she could. They brought shirley temples to our flower girls without even being asked. . . every little thing they thought of. We always had someone ensuring there was nothing we needed (and we never did because they gave us EVERYTHING!) I would choose the Riverhouse a million times over and I hope this review truly shows how amazing they are so couples can experience the magic of getting married there.

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station is honestly the most INCREDIBLE venue and we HIGHLY recommend them to everyone!! The staff who work there just make it an absolute dream. The venue is beautiful; well kept and laid out perfectly. Our gratitude to them is endless for running the most amazing wedding ever. Their hospitality is out of this world. The service that us as a bride and groom, along with the service provided to our wedding party, our parents, and all of our guests was out-of-this-world. The amazing service is something that we are truly in awe about because it was that good. We were married there on May 1st 2021. We had booked our wedding right before the Pandemic started. Throughout these crazy times, we were always contacted by someone who answered any questions or concerns. They truly care about their couples and it is clear it's not JUST a business. Kelley was absolutely amazing helping us plan our wedding. She was so accessible, kind, and genuinely excited to help us in any way she could. On our wedding day we worked with Julie who is so wonderful. She helped things go seamlessly, kept us both at ease, and truly wanted us to have a perfect wedding with every last detail. My husband and I are still in awe of how incredible our wedding night was- and much of that is owed to the entire Riverhouse staff! I truly can not describe how perfect it was and how great they all are. We had not heard of the RH prior to researching venues after our engagement. We thought were set on a different venue until both my husband and I walked into the doors and both knew at that moment that this is the place! after we met Hattie, we knew our search was done.The staff was absolutely incredible throughout the entire process. Both Hattie and Kelley were responsive to emails, answered any questions that we had, and were so helpful in guiding us through. It was so appreciated and made the entire process to be less stressful and not overwhelming.I can not say enough about how great Linda was on the night of the wedding. She helped make sure the night went smoothly and everything was what we wanted. She was meant for this profession and holds a special place in our hearts! Our personal attendant, Michele, was extraordinary. She was there for our every need and I swear she knew what we wanted before we even did. She was the sweetest. The food was amazing!!!! After getting engaged last year I started the hunt as to where our perfect day would take place. My fiancé and I visited a couple venues and all were lovely but none blew us away. Since we live about an hour away from Haddam we decided to take our parents along to the Riverhouse. As soon as we all walked in we all looked at each other and agreed this was the place. The decorations and layout were spectacular. Kelley showed us around, went over every detail, and professionally answered all of our questions. Before leaving that meeting we reserved what would become our wedding day. Throughout the entire process Kelley and Hattie were so friendly, accommodating to many different requests, and most importantly (to me) got back to my emails throughout the year in such a timely manner. Fast forward to our final meeting where we met our day of coordinator, Linda. She had everything organized for our big day and any last minute changes I made were changed seamlessly. Linda made us feel so at ease about the whole process. We did a first look on our big day so we were able to peek in and see all of our decorations that were set up. Linda and the RH employees truly put my vision together even better then I could have done. The champagne and cheese platters were a nice touch while we waited for the ceremony while the guys enjoyed beer and setback. Throughout the entire night everyone who worked there were so friendly and helpful. My guests are still talking about how amazing the cocktail hour and dinner were. Everything came out hot and delicious. I’m so upset my time working with everyone at the riverhouse is over but I can whole heartily say that they made it the easiest part of wedding planning. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I trusted from photos and reviews that the food would be great, but at the tasting when we actually got to try it; we were blown away with how delicious everything was, I wish a gouda mashed potato cake was a thing! We still have wedding guests talk about how amazing their meals were. I have never met a more impressive team of professionals. Every detail was addressed and every question was answered. Hattie and Kelley almost didn't seem real, their friendliness and organization are unlike anything I've ever seen. On our wedding day, Linda made the entire day run so smoothly, and Nicole made sure I was comfortable and content the whole night, it would not have been the same without them there. This was truly one of the best wedding decisions we made.

I had planned our wedding from California, and right from the start Hattie and her staff made it easy. Hattie contacted me and suggested a FaceTime appointment, where she showed me the venue and talked me through the options that the Riverhouse offered. As the time got closer, Kelley took over, but she was just as resourceful and calming as Hattie. They made me feel as if I was the only bride that they had on the books!Aside from the excellent staff (and I can't forget to mention Linda, the day of coordinator, and Michele, our server for the night!), let's talk about the food. It was UH-MAZING. All of our guests loved everything that they had to offer, especially the hors d'oeuvres. When you book with the Riverhouse, you must have the lobster mac n' cheese!Overall, if I had to do my wedding all over again, I would pick the Riverhouse again and again. We were so happy that we found The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station. Hattie and Kelley were so accommodating and flexible due to the unforeseen circumstances of us having to find a new venue in a short amount of time. We were so thrilled with the service that they provided in the initial consultation and viewing that we could not wait to sign the contract. They were beyond organized, efficient, and just amazing to work with. Our guests are still raving about the food and atmosphere. The guys were so happy that they got a room to themselves and the ladies loved how spacious the bridal suite was! The day of staff was beyond helpful and accommodating to anything that arose. We got married down by the water and it was completely breath taking and the pictures came out amazing. If you are looking for a spacious space, good food, gorgeous atmosphere, flexible and nice staff, look no further!

Married in 2011. We stopped by without an appointment 8/2010 and were seen between appointments. Wherein other vendors didn’t extend us the same opportunity.There was so much to love about the staff and the offerings at The Riverhouse. We most appreciated having a personal attendant the day of the ceremony. It insured we were able to enjoy our selected hors d’oeurves and have some bubbly too. The only thing we didn’t care for was not being able to take the meals for the 7 people who had to cancel writhin the last two days before the wedding. They were “fed to the staff” and not allowed to packed to-go for “food safety reasons”. Although every other place I’ve ever dined provides a take out container to enjoy a meal later. This made no sense to us. We paid handsomely for those meals.As long as this doesn’t bother you, they are otherwise a wonderful vendor.

We fell in love with The Riverhouse the moment that we arrived. My husband and I were planning a unique wedding experience that would combine our distinctly different backgrounds: I'm Catholic and he is Hindu. We knew that combining such different traditions could be difficult; however, Hattie ensured that she would support us through all of the 'crazy' that we had planned for an all-day affair! She and the wonderful staff at the Riverhouse delivered ABOVE AND BEYOND our expectations. We hosted a dual wedding with a morning Hindu ceremony and an evening Western ceremony along the way supplying our guests with two meals and through all of this, the staff at the Riverhouse NEVER skipped a beat. We had a great deal of moving parts throughout our day due to the two distinctly different ceremonies with guests who were in and out of the venue all day; Hattie, Kelly and Linda were incredibly organized and one step ahead of everything all day long. The food and cocktail hour were incredible, and our guests raved about the food for weeks after our wedding!! I cannot thank Hattie enough for all of her hard work and her truly authentic caring for us and our guests on our special day. We would HIGHLY recommend The Riverhouse to any couple considering this gorgeous venue.

We fell in love with The Riverhouse the moment that we arrived. My husband and I were planning a unique wedding experience that would combine our distinctly different backgrounds: I'm Catholic and he is Hindu. I can't say enough about The Riverhouse. What a beautiful venue! We were married in September. We have beautiful pictures from our reception. We had done some pictures down at the water as well as outside at the reception. It was a spectacular setting. The service and food were incredible. From the moment my cousin got married at The Riverhouse years ago I knew I would someday want to get married there and I am so glad we did. Not only is the location amazing, but each and every staff member was amazing too!! I cannot say enough great things about them and how much of a pleasure they are to work with. Hattie and Kelley made the entire planning process so easy. No matter how many crazy or weird questions I had they were there to answer them and always got back to me so quick! The night of our wedding was no different. Our event coordinator was Sara and she was so great to work with. She made sure everything ran smoothly and exactly how it was supposed to which made enjoying the night even that much easier. All of our guests, including us, LOVED the cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert. I think some are still raving about it all! From the first response back from Hattie we knew we had to check out the Riverhouse. Every question we had was responded to promply in our emails. We viewed the Riverhouse and fell in love with the back deck. Hattie, Kelley, Linda, and our bridal attendant were amazing! They were relaxed while being attentive to our needs. Our glasses were always full during our wedding celebration. We had our ceremony on the back with the River beside us. It was perfect! We had 71 people and it was the perfect setting size outside for quaint yet full. We opted for brunch with omlettes, crepes, salmon, & beef tips. The food was delicious!! We wish we could have fit more in our bellies. Words cannot express how thankful we are to all of the Riverhouse. Everyone works hard to ensure you have the most magical and beautiful day!!♥️♥️♥️

My husband and I had the best experience with The Riverhouse from start to finish! It is such a beautiful venue with beautiful views from the patio and the nearby Eagle Landing state park that can be utilized for first look photos. Hattie was the primary contact and she was incredibly friendly and responsive throughout the entire process. Her team even helped us create a very unique offering for cocktail hour - a bacon bar! Our guests are still talking about it, along with how delicious dinner was! They have a very large menu to choose from for both appetizers and meals. When we arrived to the venue for the reception, the staff did a beautiful job setting up our decor and Linda and our bridal attendant, Michelle, made sure we were taken care of all night. I couldn’t be happier with our choice of venue!

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station was wonderful! It’s easy to feel a little overwhelmed during portions of the wedding planning, but Hattie and Kelley were there for us each step of the way! They answered every question with prompt phone calls or emails. We had a large guest count at around 250 and were concerned about space, but Hattie and Kelley assured us that the layout would work and not feel cramped. They were right:) When walking through the tables and talking to our guests we were relieved to see how well the room flowed. We cannot say enough about how professional, responsive, and attentive the staff was throughout the whole reception planning process and their excellence continued throughout the whole wedding night! The food was delicious-everybody complimented the appetizers as well as the entrees. The staff was also so accommodating when we decided at the very last minute to extend the end time of our reception! They did everything with a smile whether it was meeting with us about decor or helping us load up our cars at the end of the night. Thank you again to The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station:)

Before I walked into The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, I had already made up my mind with another venue. It was suggested to me to go and check it out regardless of my initial choice and take a look and I am so glad I did. I could not have picked a better place to host our wedding. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Our ceremony was held outdoors and the reception was absolutely perfect. Working with Hattie and the Riverhouse staff made my experience enjoyable and exciting instead of stressful and time-consuming. Any questions or concerns I had were met with a calm and collected response that alleviated any worries I had and Hattie made my planning experience go smoothly. And the best part is how accommodating they are! My husband and I come from different cultural backgrounds so the food was the biggest dilemma we had. We wanted both Indian and American cuisine so our only option was to hire two outside caterers which would have been twice as costly. Hattie suggested we talk to the chef and his kitchen staff to see if we could work something else out. They went above and beyond anyone else would have in order to cook BOTH cuisines in house. I was beyond impressed and grateful that they took the time and effort to learn to cook my favorite Indian dishes perfectly and, of course, their house menu was absolutely delicious as well. Both sides of the family raved about the food for weeks. From start to finish our wedding was stunningly perfect. Every detail was executed phenomenally and I would highly recommend considering this venue for any special occasion. I thank Hattie and the Riverhouse staff for making our night more memorable than we could have imagined.

I just had my wedding at the Riverhouse last week and I would recommend them to anyone.Great food, staff, service, and facilities

From the start the staff did a great job at making everything organized for the various milestones that you encounter when planning a wedding. They were also fun and professional at the same time! The food was absolutely amazing!! There was also a ton of choices to choose from, which was great. Everyone at our wedding commented on how much they loved the food and how it was the best food that they've had at any wedding! They also recommended great vendors that I'm sure we wouldn't have been able to find on our own. Hands down we are 100% satisfied with our choice of the Riverhouse!! I'm not even sure where to start, everything was amazing! All of the staff was incredibly accommodating, professional, and most importantly (for me) responsive. All throughout the planning process Hattie, Kelley, and Jillian answered all my stupid questions usually within an hour of me emailing them. The food was absolutely fantastic! My husband and I had a difficult time narrowing down our options after our tasting. So many of our guests also complimented the food. The most impressive part about working with the Riverhouse staff was that we didn't need to worry about anything. My husband and I were able to relax and enjoy every moment of our day thanks to them. We actually had a guest show up who had declined, the staff knew about it and set an extra place before my husband and I even found out! We had a personal attendant who was so great about checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed before the ceremony and during the reception... I don't think I once saw the bottom of my beverage that night. At the end of the night, they packed up all of our items that we brought from home to decorate; and they made sure our gifts were handed off to the person we had designated before that day. And of course the venue is absolutely stunning! We had visited a few other venues, but we knew immediately this was the one.

This venue worked out perfect for our wedding. Ceremony arrangements were tricky in our situation and the Riverhouse was able to provide a lovely indoor ceremony space and then covert it in less then an hour (during cocktail hour) to a beautiful reception. The staff was very attentive & overall awesome. Kelly was awesome to work with and so was Mary! The food was amazing, and is one of the first things guest rave about.I'm not giving it 5 stars because I do wish Mary was involved a little sooner in planning the timeline. She has tons of experience and great advise I wish we heard sooner! Also i did find out that after our wedding in November the Riverhouse had made some staffing changes, the staff I had were awesome & I'm sad I can't guarantee that for the next couple. I can guarantee a beautiful venue/view year round!

I could not have asked for a more supportive, available and just sweet group to work with. Everyone truly made our day so incredibly special. Choosing to have our wedding at the Riverhouse was the best decision we could have made. With the help from Hattie and Kelly everything ran so smoothly and was so organized throughout the planning process. They always answered any and all questions that came up. The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station is wonderful! From the moment we got out of car to tour the site for the first time, we fell in love with the venue. The grounds are absolutely stunning, and the inside of the venue was clean and modern. We mainly worked with Hattie throughout the entire planning process. Hattie is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. During various stages of the planning process, we emailed back and forth with Hattie (especially during the last two weeks before the wedding). She was prompt to respond and always answered our questions. Another great aspect of the Riverhouse was attending the food tasting (about 6 months before our wedding date), where they set up the venue like a wedding. We had the ability to taste the food and also got a good sense for what we wanted to do for table placement, table clothes, napkins, chair covers, etc.As the wedding got closer, we were in constant contact with Hattie about selections that needed to be made. The Riverhouse provides the Bride and Groom with paperwork that assists with this entire process. Having this paperwork was *key* and helped us stay organized and on track.A few days before the wedding, we met with Hattie and Linda (who was our event manager on the day of the wedding). Linda was so sweet and helpful and took the time to discuss with us how the entire flow of the wedding day would go. This was so reassuring!On the day of the wedding, the staff at the Riverhouse was wonderful! We got so many complements about the venue. Many people were raving about the food (the food is absolutely fantastic!) and how nice the venue looked.Honestly, there are not enough words that I can write to express how happy we were with the Riverhouse and the staff. They helped make our wedding day magical and we are so appreciative!

The Riverhouse is an AMAZING place to get married! I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff, the actual venue, the food, etc. Hattie was my wedding coordinator throughout the planning process and answered every ridiculous question I had in less than 24 hours every time. The tasting was amazing, I've never eaten so much food in one sitting in my life and it really helped put my mind at ease that the food was not just delicious but fun & unique. They are as flexible as possible and try to accommodate any request you have to make your wedding as personal to your tastes as they can. The week leading up to the wedding was a frenzy of last minute planning and getting things done but The Riverhouse staff, particularly Hattie and my day-of banquet manager Mary, went through everything we brought on the final meeting and really put our minds at ease that they understood our vision and what we hoped the rooms, tables, etc would look like. They executed it the day of the wedding flawlessly.The night of the wedding itself was absolutely perfect. The cocktail hour room and reception room both looked AMAZING, the staff was great and so friendly, and the whole night went off without a hitch. Michele, our bridal party assistant, was so attentive and made sure we tried all the food, actually sat down and ate some dinner, and kept our drinks full the entire night. Every guest we talked to said the food was amazing, and if you get married early enough in the year, you get to enjoy the view of the river from the deck during cocktail hour which is also an amazing feature! Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone at the Riverhouse, we were so happy the entire night of the wedding and couldn't have asked for anything more.

When my dad received his salad, his didn’t have any tomatoes. When I arrived after the ceremony, I went out onto the balcony to see the ballroom. They putting the final details together and the room was every more beautiful than I could have imagined. The balcony is also a great spot so your photographer can get a photo with all the guests at the wedding. I would recommend the Riverhouse to anyone planning a wedding. They exceeded all my expectations and made my wedding dreams come true!

Picking our venue was one of the easiest choices for us...I had done my research and upon our first meeting we were immediately in love! I wanted some water aspect and with being by the CT river it allowed us a chance to take scenic photos and a cooling breeze on what was a very hot day during cocktail hour on the deck. We had Hattie as our main contact but her and Kelley were helpful every step of the way. On the day of Mary took charge and the night flowed perfectly , she went above and BEYOND to ensure we and our guests left happy. We can't say enough about the food at the Riverhouse , this was very important to us and we had endless compliments from our 220 guests including some of the \"best wedding food\" experienced. You can't be disapointed if you choose this beautiful venue!

The venue is beautiful, the staff excellent and the food unbelievable! Our guests raved on an on about the food and how beautiful our wedding was. I am so glad that we chose The Riverhouse. It exceeded our expectations. Hattie is the best! We are very grateful for all that the staff did for us and hope someday a friend gets married there so we can go back!

I recently attended a wedding at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station and I have to say everything went perfectly and according to plan! The venue itself was awesome, the grounds were beautifully maintained and the accommodations for the wedding party and guests was as good as it gets. Our Banquet Manager Linda and her entire staff was awesome!! We had a fairly large wedding party, and trying to keep everyone together and on task was no easy feat. No problem for Linda though, as the true consummate professional Linda \"herded the cats\" and kept everything moving and flowing on schedule and making sure everyone was where they needed to be. All with a positive attitude, and friendly demeanor. You can tell Linda and company really love their jobs! There were times I thought the staff were on roller skates as they moved through the venue at lightning speed efficiently attending to all that needed Linda's or the staffs attention, but yet invisible when they needed to be. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the dinner... Hats off to the chef! our dinner was magnificent!! I would have expected a great meal after hearing from some of the guests from a previous event while we initially visited the Riverhouse on our search for a venue, but I have to say with three letters OMG!! How they pulled this off with approximately 175 guests was truly amazing! I felt I was being served at a 5+ star restaurant! The presentation was also truly impressive all around!Thank you all for helping us make this a most memorable day for us! Hattie, Mary and the team at the Riverhouse were absolutely exceptional! Beginning a year ago when we started planning to the very end of our wedding was so smooth and handled as if they were only planning our wedding. They were incredibly accommodating and made the night the most special evening of our lives. We had special bridal attendants throughout the evening making sure we and our families were taken care of. We were able to have the ceremony and cocktail hour outside and the views were gorgeous. I love the Riverhouse and would recommend everyone get married there!! Dan and I wish we could do the night again!

My husband and I along with all of our friends and family can not rave enough about the Riverhouse! From first impressions to the very end of our wedding, everyone at the Riverhouse was there to make sure my day would be and was flawless. Hattie was always available and flexible, which was so important as my husband and I lived over an hour away and both have hectic schedules. Working in the industry, I knew I had higher expectations, but the Riverhouse did not fail me at all! They worked with me and accommodated all my wants and needs. I knew I would have nothing to worry about working with this venue. I also can't forget to mention the delicious food! My husband and I have been to enough weddings (being at the age were you go to 10/year) so we are use to the generic \"wedding food\". The Riverhouse had a fantastic variety of appetizers and entree selections. The food was beautifully plated and the flavor was right their with it! My guests are still talking about their meals at the wedding!! (Side Note: we choose Cakes by Donna for our wedding cake and I would also highly recommend her!!)My wedding day was the best day of my and my husbands life. I woke up that morning not worry about anything because I knew everything would be taken care of. When I opened the doors to the Ballroom I was completely in shock over how beautiful the space was! One thing I also won't forget is our bridal attendant who was on point the entire day! Every time I would put my drink down and loose it another would appear right as I needed it! The Riverhouse took care of every little detail, especially the little things that crazy brides forget!I would highly recommend the Riverhouse for your wedding if you are searching for a great location, with a beautiful outdoor area, fantastic food, and pleasant, accommodating staff to work with during your planning. Choosing the Rivehouse to be our venue was possibly the easiest decision my husband and I made during our planning. Not only was the staff very helpful throughout the planning but they were also warm and inviting. I truly felt like they were family. The day of my wedding was an absolute dream come true. I remained carefree the entire time and focused on the most important day of my life. I am so glad that they helped make my wedding picture perfect. I would highly recommend them!

I went to a wedding here in the Spring of 2013 and absolutely loved it. When I got engaged in 2014, I knew that was where I wanted my wedding. I could not of asked for more from the staff. They do everything to help keep you organized so you don't go crazy with everything you have to do as a bride. The biggest thing for me, they allowed me to have my dog there for my big day. They understood that anyone who would have been able to take care of him that day would be at the wedding, so they set up one of their large downstairs bathrooms for him with a bed that I brought. And not only did some of the banquet staff visit him (and bring him steak!), but they were even going to allow him to be at the ceremony (he's a barker, so I know it wouldn't be a good idea lol). The venue itself is amazing, from the decor (having a winter wedding so close to Christmas is very beneficial as they keep it decorated with greenery and white lights) to the food. The staff is top notch with everything. I would recommend this venue to everyone.
