Kayla Bellitt(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-04-2023 I had the pleasure of working at The Scottsdale Resort this spring when one of my clients selected it for their wedding venue. The Scottsdale Resort served as a beautiful option that was more affordable than some of the other resorts in town without sacrificing quality. The spaces were beautiful and intimate for the event. After a rainy winter, the vegetation was lush and the flowers blooming giving the property a natural glow up. The banquet staff overall were easy to work with and provided for the needs of the couple and their guests. The family and friends in attendance all had wonderful things to say about the event, which depends heavily on the service of the property. Additionally, the affordability of the rooms made it convenient for most of the wedding party, family, and guests to stay at The Scottsdale Resort. Overall, I had a great experience from a professional standpoint. Reviewed on 25-04-2023
Shelby Sweeney(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-04-2023 I am a wedding planner with Monarch Events and I had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding at The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch. The original venue coordinator (Emily) was unfortunately out and the couple was transitioned to Lauren. The transition and communication was so smooth and Lauren jumped right in and was so helpful. On the day of, Lauren was attentive and frequently checked in with myself and my assistant to make sure we didn't need anything. Her and her staff helped set items (menus, fold napkins provided by the couple, place favors and more!) which was such an extra help when there are a million other things going on during a wedding day. The banquet captain, Yasmine, and his associate Adrian were SO kind, friendly, and willing to help all throughout the dinner and reception portion. They stayed on schedule according to the timeline and I never had to worry that something wasn't going to be done on time or correctly. As a planner, I will definitely be recommending this venue to my future couples and am already looking forward to having the opportunity to work another wedding at this venue with their incredible staff! Austin Nakamura(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2019 We couldn’t have picked a better venue for our wedding than The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch. We toured a lot of other venues and resorts prior to visiting McCormick Ranch and once we saw the grounds of the resort, we knew that this would be a perfect setting for our special weekend. Our wedding was multicultural that mixed both Hindu and Buddhist traditions and took place over 2 days and consisted of 4 separate events. Everything turned out better than we could have ever imagined thanks to the staff of the resort. We can’t say enough great things about Chef Subhi. Each event of our wedding had food service and Chef Subhi created amazing menus for each meal. His knowledge and execution of the traditional Indian dishes blew our mind. He was able to execute everything from Indian street foods, traditional Indian dishes, and also mix in an Asian fusion style that bridged the gap of pallets of taste. People that attended are still raving about the delicious food Chef Subhi was able to make. Our wedding cake made by the inhouse baker Mary was amazing!!! Her ability to not only bake a delicious cake, the ability to artfully design it with our color scheme took it over the top.We had a lot of out of town guests that needed to be situated for the weekend. Debra was able to coordinate with us and our wedding planner in order to make everyone’s lodging situation seamless.None of this would have been possible without the hard work of Emily Kix. The moment we met her to discuss our possible wedding plans we knew that the McCormick Ranch was the venue for our wedding. She made us feel comfortable and was awesome to work with. Without her coordination with our wedding planner our wonderful wedding weekend would not have been as amazing as it turned out!!! We highly recommend The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch!!! Megan Murphy(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-10-2018 There is no doubt in the world that this hotel is a stunning venue for upscale weddings. I am thrilled to have had my ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception here. However, with all the beauty and good that came from the venue, there are also bad qualities. The BAD-We had our Rehearsal Dinner at Kitchen West and while the food was okay, the space worked well for us (there is a little-partitioned room that we stuck kids in and it worked out great) and the manager was nice to deal with, I wouldn't suggest having a rehearsal dinner here because of the noise. The hotel has live music about ten feet away from this spot and that mixed with the rest of the restaurant not being closed off from this EXPENSIVE rented space made it damn near impossible to hear the people across from you. -We were talked into getting a block of rooms for our wedding guests by being told that there was a good chance guests wouldn't be able to book a room without it because the hotel might very well be at capacity. Not only was that untrue, we had many guests book a room while at the reception night of, but the room rates change so drastically that anyone who booked from the block got royally screwed. I understand that the employees have little to no control over room rates but we were DEFINITELY upsold on that and when we're already paying thousands of dollars at this hotel, it felt incredibly cheap of them to mislead us. -The \"honeymoon suite\" was a regular room. It was indistinguishable from any other, very basic and small.-One of the employees/or/managers (not a front desk person,) the person who took care of the room block and reservations was rude and short via email when my mother-in-law was trying to figure out if she could book an actual suite, not a hotel room, as a part of the wedding block. She didn't come across as professional by any means in these emails.-At the ceremony, the main bartender was rude to one of my guests for absolutely zero reason. He was snarky and at every new drink order for this person would mock what he was ordering. That is absolutely unacceptable. I don't know if he worked straight for the hotel or was hired for the event but either way the hotel is responsible for this man. THE GOOD-Emily Kix was our point of contact with the venue for our wedding for over a year and she was a delight to work with. She and I worked alongside each other well, she is a no-nonsense type of person which I love as she was straightforward, eager to help, and efficient. -The venue was incredible, a very classy location that was everything I could dream of. Each spot that hosted guests was uniquely beautiful. It is a much more expensive option than other hotels and other wedding venues but I believe it was worth the cost. Reviewed on 20-11-2018

Chef Subi went out of his way to create a whole host of creative menu items for the lunch and reception dinner. The wedding cake they created for us and designed was just stunning and perfectly matched our decor. Our guests were raving about how fantastic the food was and how beautiful the venue looked. They are willing to negotiate and help your dream come true in your budget. The entire staff is extremely responsive, organized, kind and want you to have the best time ever- and that is what happened! I used to think wedding reviews were dumb because everyone loves their wedding but I do not leave 5 stars for everyone and this resort deserves 10 stars!! I accidentally got red wine spilled on my wedding dress and the staff immediately assisted me getting it out and getting back on the dance floor right away. They left us chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the honeymoon suite and my husbands favorite candy. The wedding cake that was included was absolutely stunning and everyone raved about it. I can't wait for this to be the location we spend future anniversaries reminiscing in our love story. It is also slightly hidden which makes it more of a gem than other hotels also. Reviewed on 12-12-2017

We had so many great staff members help us throughout the process. If you can request Emily Kix as she is personable and isn't fake like a lot of other venue coordinators. We also had room blocks and Debra Smith was hands down awesome to work with and got us a honest rate along with an accurate number we'd need based upon our wedding size. We worked with Kayla for most of the process and she became family to us. Although she was about to give birth, she wanted to make sure that she didn't miss our day. She responded to our emails very promptly and was very clear in her communication. The tasting was a blast and we were able to customize things so that it was exactly what we wanted. We have people that have severe allergies and they were very considerate of this. Specifically, one of our guest has Celiac Disease and will get really sick from gluten. Usually she has to have salad with vinegar and not really enjoy eating. Somehow, they were able to make the chicken meal completely gluten free (even to the cooking style) and she was so excited to be able to eat the same as everyone and it was the first good meal she had eaten in a while. Overall, our guests still claim that the food was the best they have ever had (including food outside of wedding food). The resort is so beautiful and unique and was perfect for our guests that were mainly out of town. We worked with Selma as our catering organizer for the day and she made sure the food was out (and still warm) while making sure that the bride and groom had drinks. Our bartender was a hoot and our guests couldn't stop talking about how great he was and the drinks. The cake was through the venue and they did better than the picture we sent them and the florist is the sweetest woman in the world and our flowers are still beautiful weeks later. They were even able to squeeze us in this beautiful presidential suite which made the getting ready process so much fun and the night even more special. By having everything there, it made coordinating so flawless and reduced a ton of stress. I am so happy that we used this venue and can't recommend it enough. Make sure to add it to your list to check out and you will love it too. Reviewed on 20-03-2017

Debbie made it feel effortless. We made most of the plans over the phone and via email. We had quite a few changes based on continually changing needs on our end and Debbie made them with a smile and never made us feel like it was a problem. The wedding itself went perfectly. Our guests all raved about the hotel, the staff and the food. The southwest theme throughout the hotel gives it a distinctive character that makes people feel comfortable and makes for great pictures.
