Ashley Adams(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2023 We loved everything about the St. Anthony hotel. It’s historic, it’s downtown, it’s absolutely stunning! The food was delicious and the staff was on top of it! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a venue in San Antonio. A few things to note that I noticed:* Showed us a different style suite than what we received, never once told us the room showed during the tour was an upgraded room, didn’t offer it when making room reservation. Never saw the room we received until we checked in so it threw a wrench in some getting ready plans. When I brought this concern up, it felt like they didn’t really care. * When we went for the tasting, they specifically asked us what requests we had for the day of to make sure everything was great. We requested extra water bottles in our suite, a garment rack in our suite and they offered to have dented sachels of the hotel signature smell for us to bring home with us. None of that was done. * No mini fridge in suite, which i thought was weird — had to call down and order to room* No full length mirror in room, I would have thought that if it’s the suite that they are putting the bride and groom in that there would be a full length mirror. * No usb plugs, this is not a high priority but something to note* Got charged extra for water in swearingen room* Total price given when we signed contract was different than actual total price because they didn’t account for tax and didn’t make us aware until we pointed it out Reviewed on 09-04-2023
Steven Diaz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-02-2023 My wife and I just had our wedding at The St. Anthony Hotel. We had the absolute best day ever and we are so happy with the venue and all of the amazing staff! Beginning at the initial inquiry, I worked with Bridget Klish and she was an absolute rock star! We couldn’t have had a better coordinator and she made our special day come to life. I (groom) was very in depth into the details of budgeting and planning and some coordinators could have become irritated by the amount of questions and concerns I had, but Bridget quickly and thoroughly answered every single one. As long as I emailed her before early afternoon, I would almost always get a response within an hour or two… We would even exchange emails late into the evening discussing little details. My wife and I visited the venue a couple times during the planning stage, and Bridget always made sure that the entire staff was ready for our arrival and everyone greeted us by name. I can’t speak highly enough Bridget and how much of an amazing job she did making our special day come life. If you are on the fence at all about a venue, please do yourself a favor and hop on the phone with Bridget at the St. Anthony. She will take amazing care of you! Reviewed on 08-04-2023
Caroline King(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-01-2023 The venue itself was absolutely perfect and the food was excellent! The service from the valets, servers and other team members was impeccable. Giving 4 not 5 stars because communication with the point of contact at the hotel left some room to be desired. We would have to follow up multiple times to get questions answered, and even then not everything was. Would have expected a more prompt response time for the $$. Reviewed on 08-02-2023

We had my daughters wedding at the St. Anthony in August and it was a perfect weekend. They even had two salon chairs delivered to our suite for hair and makeup the morning of the wedding. We have received so many compliments on the food and the beautiful venue from our guests. The neutral color palate and crystal chandliers help set the mood for a very elegant affair. The guest rooms have been beautiful remodeled and the rooftop terrace and pool was a great gathering place for our guests. Alex (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-01-2014 We chose to have the wedding reception at the St. Anthony because of the decadent old world feel of the hotel. In truth, I had fallen in love with the site years before I met my husband. I have always loved historical buildings and antique decor. The St. Anthony has all of these things and so much more. As an out of state bride, it was important to me that the venue included as many things as possible. The food, alcohol, cake cutting service, tables, linens, table settings, and even some of the decor was provided by the hotel. Having one source for all of these things was invaluable. They really took care of everything and are not near as expensive as you'd think with all of these items added in. We had our reception in the Pereaux Room, which was absolutely magical with its chandeliers, large tapestry, and ornate wood carving details. Wendy and the staff there at the St. Anthony are extremely professional and made sure that everything went smoothly the night of. And the food was delicious! This is a wonderful place for a wedding. From the ceremony in the Pereaux Room, cocktail hour in Peacock Alley, reception in Anachacho Ballroom, and breakfast buffet in the Madrid Room our guests enjoyed everything. Sara was very easy to work with and was very knowledgable. Chef Michael was wonderful....but don't serve ice cream for dessert with the wedding cake. It melted because it was difficult to control when people were at their tables. The hotel rooms are \"vintage\" or as we told our guests \"charming\". This is the type of venue my daughter wanted and the decor in the public areas don't disappoint. Reviewed on 27-05-2013

The perks that come with this venue include free honemymoon suite night for bride/groom on the night of the wedding. Also, two complimentary rooms suites for the night of the wedding (we used for our parents). Rental fee for reception room is waived as long as food total is a certain amount (including alcohol). Sara Wilson was my coordinator at the hotel...AWESOME!!! Very accommodating and helpful. Discounted rate for guests staying at hotel, however, lots of my guests's rooms were not ready by time of checkin so lots of waiting around. Also, have to pay for parking ($24/day). Mary Dockery-Jackson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-06-2011 I used the St. Anthony hotel for the rehearsal dinner and reception at my wedding. They have a great location close to the riverwalk, so it was easy for my guests to go out and enjoy the sites of of San Antonio. It was also close to the church we used, St. Mary's.\r\rFor the rehearsal and reception the food was amazing. We had fajitas and enchiladas for the rehearsal, and I just couldn't get enough. We had lemongrass chicken and ginger salmon for entree choices at the reception. My husband said the lemongrass chicken tasted just like his mom's asian chicken soup, and I thought the ginger salmon was delicious.\r\rThe venue was perfect because we were going for a 1940s theme, and the hotel certainly offers that historic vibe. Just be prepared that it is historic, and some of the fixtures and accomodations reflect that. We stayed at the hotel and I thought the bathrooms were rather small compared to other hotels I had stayed at in the area, but then again there were two bathrooms in my room. The rooms were also a pretty generous size with many layouts to choose from.\r\rSara did a great job coordinating our event, making sure everything ran smoothly. There was another wedding going on at the same time in a different room, and it was so well coordinated that I didn't really even notice. \r\rWe had a few problems with some guest reservations, so when they send you the list of people who have reserved rooms for the block, double check with your guests. I think I had some people make reservations under my name instead of just referencing my name for the block of 20 rooms we reserved. Then, when they checked in they couldn't find the reservation. We also had problems with them charging valet parking to people who didn't have cars because they mixed up rooms. However, my husband had no problem fixing this when he went down to address the problem. Every time there was an issue they took his side and were happy to help. \r\rI had a few comments from guests that rooms were not completely cleaned when they checked in. I heard the hotel had been incredibly busy that weekend with large groups checking in, and they were having problems getting all of the rooms ready. My mom also had a complaint that the front desk would not call our priest, Father Michael, by his title. She noted that while the overall service was great, they should be more sensitive to titles like Father or Rabbi as a sign of respect. Reviewed on 15-06-2011

It was perfect for our arrival; the hallway gave us plenty of room to make sure our guests were inside the reception before we got there and it was amazing. They had repainted the balcony railing that week, and the soft color worked very well with the lighting the DJ set up. Also, the set up, with the cake being the centerpoint of the room, was perfect. It stood out, but also balanced the room out.;It got really hot. I don't know if it was because there were so many people or if the A/C had problems, but by the end of the night we were melting.
