The State Room was an absolute dream come true wedding venue! From the moment we visited and met Tom and Lisa, we knew it was the venue we wanted for our big day. Tom told us at our first meeting that he treats the day as if we are his own daughter and son and we truly felt that way. The whole day (not just the reception) Tom was there for me. I mean from the moment we left the hotel for the church ceremony until the end of the night. He was always there with water bottles, to hold my veil, and to make sure we were where we needed to be. We cannot describe in words how much of a blessing it was to have Tom at our side. He bends over backwards to make sure your day is the best day of your life and you can tell he truly loves what he does. Their staff were also nothing short of perfect. Renee catered to Paul and I to make sure we had anything we wanted at all times. All the bartenders and servers were so attentive to our guests and made sure everyone was taken care of. They truly made us feel like the star of the show and always ensured we had something to eat or drink and were floating on cloud 9. Many of our guests commented on how friendly the staff was and how they seemed genuinely happy to be there working our wedding. Lastly, I could talk about the food for days but I will try to keep it simple; the food was phenomenal. Our guests still talk to us about how much they loved the food. Tom goes above and beyond with not only the quality but the quantity of food. I am hoping I’ll get to come back sometime as a guest just so I can experience all the food again. All in all, we could not be happier with our decision and would highly recommend The State Room for anyone wanting an elegant, timeless venue filled with great drinks, great food, and great staff.

We can't even begin to explain the wonderful experience we had with The State Room for our New Year's Eve wedding! The State Room was the first wedding venue we toured and knew right away that was going to be it. Tom stayed true to his word on everything he promised to deliver for our wedding day, which was nothing short of amazing. Tom and Lisa were with us every step of the way while planning our wedding. They were very quick to respond to any questions we had and ensured that everything was well planned out. They really do listen and make sure your wedding is exactly how you want it. Tom was by our side the entire day while we did our first look, took pictures, and had our church ceremony. Our guests have been raving about the venue and food ever since our wedding. When Tom tells you there will be no shortage of food, that is an understatement! Everything is cooked fresh and to perfection right at The State Room and Tom even sent us home with boxes of leftovers the next day.Tom is a man of many hats! He does everything from planning to cooking dinner. We can't thank Tom and his staff enough for everything they've done to help make sure our wedding day was such a success!

DO IT! We would totally recommend The State Room to any couple getting married! We had our wedding there YESTERDAY and needed to write this review immediately. Tom & Lisa made wedding planning so easy and fun. They have done this successfully thousands of times and it shows- we were so prepared every step of the way. The planning was great but the actual execution was INCREDIBLE- we didn’t worry about a single thing. Food? Endless & rave-worthy. Service? Five stars. The State Room was a place I wanted to have my wedding at before we were even engaged. Tom and Lisa did not disappoint! Everything was made very easy for us we barely had to do anything regarding the venue. They had checklists that you would follow so you can stay on track for with what needed to be done. They always checked up on you every now and then to make sure you were doing okay with planning. Having your wedding at the State Room basically gives you a built in wedding planner! Any questions you have they have an answer, and the response time was very quick. The food was delicious, they aren’t lying when they say there will be ALOT of food. Im so glad we weren’t one of those couples who couldn’t eat on their wedding day! In fact, the only reason we couldn't finish dinner is because we got so full from Lisa bringing us a full spread of every cocktail hour appetizer we missed when we were out taking pictures! We got to sit alone in private and eat for a little bit and decompress which was really nice . All of the staff are very experienced and kept everything flowing, so i barely had any stress. We got compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how everyone had a great time partying. We can’t thank Tom and Lisa enough, they really made us feel like we were the only wedding they had this summer .

If I could give the State Room 6 stars I would (have to check the star rating). As Danielle and I began searching for our perfect wedding venue, we made an extensive list of places to check. The State Room was the third place we checked out...and Danielle wanted to stop then and there as this was the perfect place for our wedding. We were not quite sure if we could make things work out, but Tom worked with us to make sure our dream wedding was achievable. During the wedding planning process, Tom and Lisa explained what the State Room offered and frequently checked in with us to make sure we were getting our tasks for the wedding done. The wedding day itself was perfect! We wanted a simple but elegant ceremony and Tom made sure that was possible. We had both our ceremony and reception at the State Room and they were able to make this a quick and seamless transition. During the reception, our guests were provided with champagne, hors d'oeuvres, and service that was A+. Renee, who was covering for Lisa that day, was sensational! She made sure that my mom did not have to wait in line for drinks. Additionally, I asked her to make sure my Pop was able to sample any and every hors d'oeuvre. She went above and beyond...SHE BROUGHT HIM HIS OWN SAMPLER PLATE. He is still talking about it! The only complaint that we have heard so far was that hors d'oeuvres were so good that few people had room for dinner. But don't worry, the portions for dinner were the best I have experienced thus far!One of the things many people told me prior to the wedding was to make sure Danielle and I got alone time to embrace the moment. The State Room did that and it was the highlight of our night. We were provided with food, champagne and our signature drinks. But most importantly, we were provided with time to be husband and wife. We truly couldn't have asked for a better venue than the State Room. From the moment we saw it we knew it was the perfect place to have our wedding. Tom and Lisa were both so helpful during the entire planning process and were always willing to answer any questions we had. On the actual wedding day, Renee stepped in for Lisa who unfortunately couldn't be there that day for personal reasons. But Renee was so incredibly professional, kind and helpful, it was like we had been working with her from the beginning. She helped make everything run so smoothly and we can't thank both her and Tom enough for all they did to make our wedding perfect. They allowed us to just sit back and enjoy our own wedding while they took care of every little detail.There are a lot of reviews that talk about the food, but that's because it truly is unlike any other wedding venue I've been to. Everything is delicious, it's all freshly cooked on site, and just the amount of food alone makes the State Room completely worth it. They also provide takeaway boxes for anyone who wants to take their food home with them, which is something you so rarely see at other venues. It was such a nice perk that everyone at our wedding was super appreciative of.Overall I can't say enough good things about the State Room and I'd strongly recommend choosing them as your venue, because they will bend over backwards to ensure your wedding is the best day of your life!

Tom and Lisa were both so helpful during the entire planning process and were always willing to answer any questions we had. On the actual wedding day, Renee stepped in for Lisa who unfortunately couldn't be there that day for personal reasons. But Renee was so incredibly professional, kind and helpful, it was like we had been working with her from the beginning. She helped make everything run so smoothly and we can't thank both her and Tom enough for all they did to make our wedding perfect. They allowed us to just sit back and enjoy our own wedding while they took care of every little detail.There are a lot of reviews that talk about the food, but that's because it truly is unlike any other wedding venue I've been to. The State Room was the first venue that my husband and I visited and we weren’t expecting to be so completely enamored! We would compare every other wedding venue we visited afterwards to The State Room. From the beginning, Lisa and Tom made us feel so at ease with wedding preparations and planning. They were always a phone call or email away and responded almost immediately. They were as invested in planning our wedding as we were and made sure that we followed a timeline and got things done–Tom and Lisa acted as our wedding planners! On top of that, you can’t beat the beauty and grandeur of the venue–just stunning!Tom showed up to the church about an hour before the ceremony to help out–he helped carry my dress and bouquet and made sure I had whatever I needed. You really are his priority and he makes it known. After the ceremony, Tom is right there to give you a bottle of water and whisk you back downtown in his car.I could write an entire review for the food itself. Everyone at the wedding was so full from the amount of food they ate–the largest prime ribs we have ever eaten, endless appetizers, and mountains of cake. And then a fun food finale to top it all off! Our guests are still talking about the food!We had the most wonderful wedding thanks to Tom and Lisa and the rest of the staff at The State Room!

DaWayne and I cannot say enough great things about The State Room. From the phone call / first inquiry all the way to the big day Tom and Lisa were there for us every step of the way! The wedding packages offered are very comprehensive & fair; they weren’t trying to nickel & dime us. Third times a charm; the State Room was our third venue we looked at & we both (even my mom) got the “feeling”! They made the planning as easy and stress free as planning a wedding could be. I am a very organized person & like to have visuals; Tom and Lisa provided word documents, spreadsheets, and had everything detailed so we wouldn’t miss a beat while planning. They were always a phone call or email away with any questions, concerns etc., which is something we really appreciated. We also highly recommend having your rehearsal dinner there upstairs… convenient, delicious, & of course great service. Now to the big day! From our very first conversation Tom said, “you’ll be my daughter for the day” & he sure did. From undivided attention, to making sure things run smoothly, to cooking in the kitchen! He drove us around in an antique car for our pictures before the ceremony, held the train of my dress & fluffed when needed & brought us to our hotel room when our night came to an end. The food was phenomenal, pretty much all of our guests left with to-go boxes. We weren’t even finished with cocktail hour & guests were coming up to us to say “this is the best wedding they’ve ever been to” and “the food is delicious”! It felt so good to know not only we were happy but our guests were too! The next day Tom & Lisa had everything packed up for us, he even helped us load our car! We cannot say enough great things about Tom and Lisa. From keeping us on schedule, to dealing with our stress and anxiety & being genuinely amazing people! They will always have a special place in our hearts for helping us with one of our biggest life events thus far. Anyone looking for a venue, this is it!

Well, I finally got around to writing this review, and may I just say... WOW WOW WOW! When I first saw The State Room, I knew that no other venue could compete. I fell in love with the location and decor, and I just felt in my heart that I wanted to spend my wedding here with my wonderful (now!) husband, friends, and family. Oh, Tom? You mean that guy who was with us every step of the way and not only made sure everything ran smoothly, but our wedding dreams came true? Yeah, that Tom. He was so kind, helpful, funny, and on top of it, he most definitely knows what he's doing and if you decide to book with The State Room, you would be in very good hands. The location itself is wonderful as well, as you are closely located near fantastic wedding photo opportunities. The prices were reasonable and there were different packages and add-ons to choose from. I highly recommend booking with The State Room! <3 :)

I fell in love with the location and decor, and I just felt in my heart that I wanted to spend my wedding here with my wonderful (now!) husband, friends, and family. Oh, Tom? You mean that guy who was with us every step of the way and not only made sure everything ran smoothly, but our wedding dreams came true? Yeah, that Tom. He was so kind, helpful, funny, and on top of it, he most definitely knows what he's doing and if you decide to book with The State Room, you would be in very good hands. The location itself is wonderful as well, as you are closely located near fantastic wedding photo opportunities. The prices were reasonable and there were different packages and add-ons to choose from. I highly recommend booking with The State Room! <3 :)

We are still getting messages from family & friends about how incredible it was (coconut shrimp and 1 lb filet mignons were some of the highlights). Tom went above and beyond, surprising guests with late night snacks and ice cream sundaes. His staff was extremely attentive to our guests dietary restrictions and providing personalized alternatives to suit their needs. The room itself was STUNNING that night, as they worked with my specific and particular vision. The marble walls and extraordinary chandelier are unlike any other venue we've been to. Our friends and family are still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding. The food was incredible, and never ending, and the venue itself is breathtaking. The bartenders and waitstaff were incredible! Tom and Lisa made it a point to make sure both my wife and I ate throughout the night. They set us up in a private area where we got to eat the passed hors d’oeuvres and enjoy a moment to ourselves after the ceremony. They also wrapped our entrées and provided to go boxes and boxed the top tier of our wedding cake. If you are debating getting the 'Final Food Finale', don't think twice! It was spectacular!Tom and Lisa made the planning process of a wedding super easy and straightforward. Who knew that was possible?! But from the monthly check in emails to our countless in person meetings; Tom and Lisa were with us every step of the way.On our wedding day itself, Tom picked up my wife and brought her to the venue. He also drove my wife, me, and our photographers around after the ceremony in an old-fashioned car, to take photographs. We got married in February, so this was so helpful to get around Albany without freezing. Tom also knew all the best places to take wedding photos! My wife also mentioned that Tom was with her every step of the way before walking down the aisle. He eased her nerves and made sure she felt like a princess. While Tom attends to the bride the day of, Lisa is also preparing the bridal party as well as running food throughout the entire night! When Tom is done with the ceremony, he hops in the kitchen and cooks ALL the food for the wedding! Finally, at the end of the night, Tom and Lisa put you up at the Renaissance Hotel. Tom and Lisa helped with everything to complimentary tasting to monthly email reminders and fast replies to anything we needed on our wedding day. Tom was with me, the bride, the beginning of the day as we did first look and he held the train of my dress, vail, and anything I needed to make it so easy for me which made me feel so special. They made the planning so less stressful with their help but also with including most important items on the contract. (center pieces, cake, warehouse full of items) Moreover, they provided a list of other vendors such as photographer and videographer recommendations which we used. Tom and Lisa made the drop off and pick up of all our things so easy along with giving us a box of to go food and our wrapped top tier cake. This was the one and only venue I checked out and knew immediately Tom and Lisa would never sway me in the wrong direction. They are on top of every single phone call and email you reach out to them for. No detail goes unnoticed, down to the final meeting checklist which includes the pair of comfortable dancing shoes under your sweetheart table. My guests all raved about the food, proving every compliment Tom ever gave himself as the chef. He was there from the first look and 10 hours later when he walked us back to our room. Highly recommend this venue, I don’t have a single complaint. If I could use them over and over for party planning I would!

I never thought planning a wedding could be so smooth. From the moment we booked The State Room, Tom and Lisa made sure we felt and knew that everything would be taken care of. We were supposed to get married in June 2021 but ended up postponing until June 2022. Tom made the transition as easy as possible which kept us stress free. There was always an open line of communication between us and Tom or Lisa. Everything with The State Room was upfront and if we wanted to add or change anything it was an easy adjustment. When Tom says that it’s your day he means it. The day was 100% ours and we were able to bring our vision to life. We did not have to worry about anything because as soon as we dropped our wedding materials off they took care of everything from set up to clean up. The staff on the day of the wedding took care of all our guests with the utmost class. The food was absolutely amazing from the cocktail hour to the fun food table. Our guests had such an amazing time. They still talk about our wedding when we see them and want us to have a yearly anniversary party so we could all come back and enjoy The State Room. I would recommend The State Room to any couple looking for a venue that can give you everything you would possibly want. I couldn’t have imagined a better time.

My husband Alec and I got married at The State Room on September 23rd, 2022 and the day was an absolute dream! From the very beginning you felt like you were the only couple who ever mattered to Tom and Lisa. With that and everything that was included in the venue - it was no brainer for us to choose the State Room. Tom is a unique guy - so compassionate and you can really tell he loves what he does! Lisa answered all my questions quickly and even set up appointments with me to come in person to discuss things with samples as I am a very visual person. All our guests are still talking about the amazing food that is prepared - IN HOUSE by Tom and his wonderful kitchen staff. Believe me when I say it's not your traditional wedding meal. We even got sent home with leftovers (that we continue to eat and share the next few days after). The day of - Tom is with you every step of the way from driving you to your picture location, fluffing your dress, letting me use his keys on my train so it stayed put when the wind wouldn't cooperate, to making sure we were checked into our hotel that night and everything in-between. Lisa brought us upstairs after the ceremony to make sure Alec and I got some alone time before the party started and to make sure we ate! They were just wonderful every step of the way. If you are looking for a magical wedding day with staff who truly cares - please look no further than the State Room!

The State Room truly crushes the wedding venue game! I cannot speak more highly of the venue itself and having Tom & Lisa on your side! They are there for you every step of the way. They were super flexible and went above and beyond to accommodate any request we had. They even helped execute all of our crazy ideas including a very unique seating chart! Lisa’s extra effort and suggestions helped to make our seating chart an absolute success! Tom is a special man. He’s compassionate and you can tell he truly loves what he does! He makes you feel like family for the day! He escorts you around for pictures, holds your train, has bottled water ready, calms any nerves, and never leaves your side! He’s your biggest cheerleader for the day! My bridal party could not believe how attentive and on the ball he was. The venue itself was absolutely stunning! They make sure to go over every single detail, down to the color of the backlighting. Now for the food, everyone RAVED about the food! It was truly out of this world. Every single thing we ate was delicious and the food just kept coming! My wedding day was exactly as I envisioned it being thanks to The State Room. The State Room was a blessing that graced us in a way we didn’t even realize. I was at my final straw with visiting wedding venues. It just wasn’t clicking for us. I saw reviews for The State Room and said… let’s try one more time. We walked in and between the venue alone and the incredible humans we were acquainted with… We were sold. Our wedding day was on September 24th and it truly was something indescribable. It was a fairytale. From the second we booked, Tom and Lisa were there for us every step of the way. I was a SLACKER of a bride. It was overwhelming and too much at times. All of that would go away as soon as I’d talk to Lisa on the phone or my other half would go and talk to Tom. The food - words can’t even begin to explain. We had our beautiful tasting event at the venue and from that point on we told all of our guests “please come hungry… this isn’t your typical wedding meal.” People are still raving about the selection, presentation, and overall deliciousness of every single thing. (The mini Beef Wellingtons … let me tell you… we are still hearing about those!) The day wouldn’t have gone the way that it did without the support from Tom and Lisa. They did everything they could to make this the best day of our lives. You’re not talking to a car salesman when you enter this establishment. You’re talking to genuine, caring and incredible people that truly love what they do. The venue alone looks like a dream with the uplighting and ambiance. The service is top notch. I am so happy something in the universe led my husband and I here. Lastly— I laugh because I can’t tell you how many times people asked me… “who’s your caterer?” The VENUE is! Tom and Lisa are! Lisa is behind the scenes putting your dream wedding together for you while you’re getting ready. Tom HIMSELF (owner of the venue) comes and picks you up to bring you to where you are getting married. He then stands with you and fluffs your dress, gives you tissues, makes sure everything is as you can imagine. While he’s being this incredible, his side kick Lisa is putting the fairytale together at the venue. When the reception starts, Tom is now getting his team together in the kitchen to COOK for all of your guests. You heard me right. He went from tux, to chef outfit, back to tux after everyone ate, etc. Tom and Lisa both kept us in check the entire time and made sure we didn’t get sucked into missing opportunities. Lisa grabbed my hand and led me to the cake cutting because it seemed impossible to be able to take a second to do so. They both made sure we got night time photos. They both made sure Daniel and I got one on one time during cocktail hour. They made sure we ate. They packed up every single entree for us for leftovers (which we ate all week.) I could go on and on forever. These two made the best day of our lives an absolute dream. My gratitude will never be enough. The State Room will hold a place in our hearts forever. Everyone thought Tom and Lisa were family members because of how involved they were! Well, we were okay with that. Because they truly made us feel as so. But, no, they are not. They are just incredible at what they do and go above and beyond to make your special day the greatest day of your life! Thank you. We are still on cloud 9!

The State Room was a blessing that graced us in a way we didn’t even realize. I was at my final straw with visiting wedding venues. It just wasn’t clicking for us. I saw reviews for The State Room and said… let’s try one more time. We walked in and between the venue alone and the incredible humans we were acquainted with… We were sold. Our wedding day was on September 24th and it truly was something indescribable. It was a fairytale. From the second we booked, Tom and Lisa were there for us every step of the way. I was a SLACKER of a bride. It was overwhelming and too much at times. All of that would go away as soon as I’d talk to Lisa on the phone or my other half would go and talk to Tom. The food - words can’t even begin to explain. We had our beautiful tasting event at the venue and from that point on we told all of our guests “please come hungry… this isn’t your typical wedding meal.” People are still raving about the selection, presentation, and overall deliciousness of every single thing. (The mini Beef Wellingtons … let me tell you… we are still hearing about those!) The day wouldn’t have gone the way that it did without the support from Tom and Lisa. They did everything they could to make this the best day of our lives. You’re not talking to a car salesman when you enter this establishment. You’re talking to genuine, caring and incredible people that truly love what they do. The venue alone looks like a dream with the uplighting and ambiance. The service is top notch. I am so happy something in the universe led my husband and I here. Lastly— I laugh because I can’t tell you how many times people asked me… “who’s your caterer?” The VENUE is! Tom and Lisa are! We had consistent communication throughout, and we booked them 20 months ago. Whenever I had a question, they always answered promptly and did everything they could to make sure what we requested happened. The food was absolutely incredible, my guests were in awe about all the different appetizers, the meal itself and the fun food at the end of the night. The waitstaff and bartenders could not have been more polite and were fantastic hosts. My husband and I got to have moments by ourselves which can be hard on a busy wedding day. But Tom and Lisa made sure we had our own space to enjoy some food and time to spend alone to soak in the day. We could not be more grateful No wedding is perfect but our day at The State Room was pretty damn close!

Well, we hate to be THAT couple, but, we felt the need to share our experience with the stateroom, to make future couples aware. Please read the whole thing!!I wish we could rate things differently.To rate the food ,5/5. Totally amazing food and so much of it.To rate the servers and bartenders, 5/5 , also totally amazing. Cleanliness, also 5/5 the stateroom was so clean and well kept!Now the parts that fell well, well below our expectations.Firstly, an issue with the vegetarian option. Our notes and menu printout have the vegetarian option as vegetable polenta. I was surprised to learn after our wedding, that it was not vegetable polenta, rather it was eggplant rollatini. Not a huge issue, but our guests who chose that, had expected it.Secondly, our wedding cake. We opted to have donuts as our main desert, but also asked for a nice and small two-tier cutting cake. Our photos, emails, and phone conversations were a two-tier. On the big day, we had only a large single-tier cake, not a two.Thirdly, when we met Tom to book, we had a great conversation about his vehicle collection and were excited we had our pick of several antique cars for Ashlee and her father to arrive in, and then to take photos with. This also did not happen, as we didn’t have a choice on the vehicle.Lastly, and arguably the most upsetting (to me at least) was the issue of the air conditioner. I, more so than the average person, fully understand that things happen.However, when we arrived Thursday ( our wedding was the next day) to drop items off, I was in disbelief at the gigantic air conditioner in the main door, the vent pipe, and the water drain leading right out the other door to the state room. The vent pipe was blowing on you right as you entered, and the water went right in front of the door, getting on many of dresses for those who didn't see it. My disappointment continued when we went inside and found the gorgeous venue we chose .... was now littered with white box fans. Furthermore, my sheer disappointment in the stateroom climaxed when I was told that this happened about a month prior to our wedding. I was saddened to learn that the stateroom, which is reviewed and revered for its professionalism, failed to notify us of this major issue.Nearly every picture I have gotten from friends and family includes a white box fan. We had two couples leave our wedding early, because they were frozen out from sitting by the A/C unit. We had several people tell us that they could also not hear us during speeches because the unit was so loud.I understand that things happen, but am truly disappointed that we were not notified. Had we known, we would've moved tables around to get folks away from the unit. Also, we would have had some more notice for our DJ and photographer, neither of which knew about the issue. Our hopes of photos in front of the stateroom were now not able to happen, had we known I would've arranged to have a bus for transportation for photos, so that we were not taking them with a street corner as a background. Also, due to how hot it was back by the vault we were not able to get back there for pictures, which is something we were truly looking forward to.Again, the stateroom was a great party, but we were disappointed from the above issues. Furthermore, it took the stateroom three emails, over nearly a month for them to get back to us. Their response did not address our concerns and quite frankly was very lackluster.

The first time we walked into The State Room, we were blown away by its grandeur and atmosphere and by the welcoming and energetic spirit that Tom and Lisa exude. We knew we picked the right venue because of how personally they take each wedding at The State Room. They recommended most of our vendors to us and all of the vendors were amazing! During the event, they were super attentive and helpful. Many of our guests mentioned Lisa by name and how wonderful she was all night. We were never left to deal with anything alone, to the point of Lisa makeshifting a new bustle for the bride 15 minutes before the first dance. All of our guests were incredibly impressed with the venue, service, food and party that Tom, Lisa and the staff put on. We are so thankful to have had our wedding at The State Room and would recommend anyone even thinking about it to definitely pick it for their special day. 1000% best wedding ever! Thank you so much to everyone at The State Room for making it that way!

I thought planning a wedding from 700 miles away was going to be impossible, until we found The State Room. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception here and everything from the start of the weekend to the end was absolutely amazing. Tom, Lisa and all the staff are there to help you and make sure you and all your guests are cared for and having a great time. What you see is what you get, there's no hidden/added fees, a gorgeous venue, amazing food, all inclusive, and help with planning from start to finish. Communication was great. They instantly answered my calls and emails and checked in on me to make I knew what needed to be done and see if I needed help or had questions. I got so many compliments during and after the wedding about how the food never stopped coming and how good it was. One thing (of the many) I loved is that they make sure you and your wife/husband have a moment alone after the ceremony to eat and relax for a few minutes. They were always one step ahead and the day of you really don't have to worry about anything except being present. Lisa really is super woman, making sure everything goes off without a hitch and Tom really does treat you like his son/daughter. The day was beyond what I imagined and I would highly recommend The State Room to any couple!

Tom and his staff did an amazing job for our wedding. We did our reception there as well which was beautiful. The food was delicious and the italian pastries from bella napoli we added were a great touch. Their central air conditioning was being fixed by their landlord when we had our wedding , however it was cool enough as there were temporary ac units installed along with multiple fans to keep the place cool. During dinner we had the ac units turned off since they were on the louder side, but the venue stayed cool enough for us. Serivce was above and beyond, with Tom picking us up in his brand new cadillac escalade as well. Thank you Tom and staff for an outstanding wedding!

If we could give more than 5 stars for The State Room, we would absolutely do it. Tom, Lisa and his team are beyond incredible and supported us throughout the wedding planning process from start to finish. They have an excellent list of recommended vendors and include several within their various packages (cake, flower centerpieces, etc.) which made planning so much easier!The food lives up to the hype- our family and friends still rave about how incredible the appetizers, entrees and late night snacks were. Even the pickiest of eaters complimented how tasty everything was. The decor and ambiance of the interior is beautiful and truly timeless. They helped us put together our vision of offering a Hershey Kiss Bar and put that together seamlessly. When Tom tells you that you are his son and daughter for the day- he means it. Tom, Lisa and his team are beyond incredible and supported us throughout the wedding planning process from start to finish. They have an excellent list of recommended vendors and include several within their various packages (cake, flower centerpieces, etc.) which made planning so much easier!The food lives up to the hype- our family and friends still rave about how incredible the appetizers, entrees and late night snacks were. Even the pickiest of eaters complimented how tasty everything was. The decor and ambiance of the interior is beautiful and truly timeless. They helped us put together our vision of offering a Hershey Kiss Bar and put that together seamlessly. When Tom tells you that you are his son and daughter for the day- he means it. We had a absolutely beautiful wedding at The State Room, I would even say we had a perfect wedding! So many of our guests have said that our wedding was the best they have ever attended and could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue is and how good but also how much food there was. Guests who we know typically leave these events early, stayed the whole night! Tom and his staff were so wonderful and easy to work with, whenever I called Tom would pick up immediately and was happy to answer every question no matter how minor of a detail. Tom and his staff clearly had so much experience and expertise I felt that I could 100% trust their advice. The wedding package available was so inclusive that it made planning so easy as Tom handle most big details (cake, food, bar, vintage car, late night food, florals), his suggested vendor list was amazing and all vendors from his list were fantastic choices and were also so easy to work with. Tom really goes out of his way to making his couples feel special. Starting with his vintage car, driving my parents and I to the church, and then my husband and I to photos, then the State room, and then even drove us across the street to the hotel and personally escorted us to our hotel room. The entire time helping to carry my very long train and veil! Tom also has a private room that overlooks the reception hall for us to go to before the reception start allowing us to have a special moment for just us where he makes sure the couple is each given one of each hors d'oeuvres. It was so nice being able to see the room empty and then watch as everyone arrives. The food was absolutely amazing, even as the bride I was so full, and anything not eaten was packed into to-go containers for all guests. People are still talking to us about the food. The State Room is so beautiful, it made decorating a breeze, I hardly had to bring anything in as the venue itself is enough. The staff was also so kind, Lisa was so nice and was so flexible with last minute details and changes. One of the servers was a lifesaver as I kept loosing my on of my earrings, she found pencil erasers that I was able to use as emergency backings. I'm truly blown away by how amazing our wedding was, I would not have changed one thing about our night! Thank you Tom!

We had our wedding at The State Room this past October 2021 and perfection doesn't even cut it. It was everything and more. No one is ever prepared for how stressful wedding planning is (esp. during COVID) but the state room staff and owner Tom really know how to do a wedding and do it right. Tom takes you in as his own children and makes sure everything is exactly how you envisioned it while taking care of you every step of the way on you're actual wedding day. Multiple of our guests have told us that it was the best weddings they've ever attended and the food didn't stop. Nothing short of amazing and delicious. Choice of multiple appetizers, 4 course dinner, cake all included. Fun food finale (late night snacks/ice cream) is extra but a MUST.The venue itself is elegant and classy.As soon as you walk in there for a tour of the venue you will be picking this venue for you're big day i promise you that. Especially when that tour is given by the owner himself. We can't thank Tom, Renee and his team enough for our more then perfect wedding day.

Absolutely amazing!!! We had our wedding at The State Room on Saturday 10/23/21. From the very first meeting, Tom let us know he would be with us every step of the way. Once we got to our actual wedding day, Tom was right there for us and by our side to help with anything that came up. He made sure nothing was going to stop us from having our perfect day. The reception itself blew us and all our guests away. Our wedding was a couple weeks ago and we are still having family and friends reach out to us saying they cannot get over how amazing the wedding was and that it was one of, if not the best, wedding they have ever been to. There is a wide variety of food options to choose from for both appetizers and entrees. The five-course meal is beyond impressive. The portions, and most importantly taste, absolutely swept everyone off their feet. Tom over-delivered on the array of food he provided and we truly appreciate him going above and beyond what we asked for. Lastly, the staff at The State Room were all super friendly, but we want to give a special shoutout to Renee, who is a sweetheart and was a huge help throughout the reception. We picked The State Room back in Spring of 2019; as soon as I walked into the venue I know that it was perfect for my wedding it was just so breath taking. There was a lot of planning over the 2.5 years and I knew there were bound to be changes but no one could have predicted a pandemic. Throughout the whole process Tom reassured us that he would do everything in his power to make our wedding a magical experience even with the pandemic. He updated us regarding all the regulations his business and NY were implementing. Jake (my groom) and I felt very confident that we would get married on our original date and sure enough things opened up enough for us to still have the wedding of our dreams. The actual wedding day was so magical - Tom made sure everything was perfect down to the last detail; from fluffing my dress as I walk down the aisle to jumping in and scooping ice cream for the fun food finale. He even helped me when I started to become anxious about the timeline and he said \"The wedding can't start without the bride :)\". The FOOD!!!! I can't even! The food was absolutely delicious and no one went home hungry as my guests were able to take home the food they didn't have room to finish. LOL. Just the whole experience was outstanding! The staff were so full of energy and smiles. They really enjoyed watching people on the dance floor. LOL. Renee was so fabulous - she made sure that we didn't go hungry, that our glasses were always full and that everything I wished for was absolutely perfect. She was very quick to make any changes that were needed or find family members after they disappeared into the vault. Everyone cared for us and made sure that we experienced such a wonderful time. I highly recommend booking your wedding venue with The State Room if you are looking for perfection!

I just can’t say enough good things about Tom, his staff, the food, the location, everything. He even brought them to the Cathedral in his fancy car and told me when to walk out because I missed my cue. I had no idea he was going to be at the church. I turned around and there he was! My brother used to be in one of our POTUS’s detail and he said that this reception—bar none—was the best gala he had ever attended. Now THAT’S saying something! The food was unbelievably incredible. So much food and so tasty. We went in the day before to check on something and Tom was there cutting up the fish. He’s really hands-on, no detail left to chance. He has the energy of 10 people. I was worried about Covid and he set my mind at ease. He wasn’t worried at all as he’s been around so long. He has the patience of Job and a “can do” attitude. I wish he could bottle that. I would buy a lifetime supply. I’m telling you, don’t go anywhere else. It’s a day I will always cherish.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Tom and The State Room team went above and beyond to make our wedding a big hit. After rescheduling 3 times due to COVID, we and our wedding guests were ready to have a party and The State Room did not disappoint! All the best pieces of the State Room were in full action: the beauty of the room itself where many guests commented that I “finally had my princess wedding,” driving around in the car for pictures, the couple’s suite on the 2nd floor where we were able to have a quiet moment to just take in the day, and the most complete bar anyone had ever seen at a wedding. The compliments didn’t end there – our guests ate like no tomorrow because the food lived up to everything that Tom promised and more. The hors d’oeuvres could be a meal on their own but then we were all treated to one of the best 4 course meals we’ve had in a long time, cake, Italian pastries, and coffee and espresso. Despite being a Sunday night nearly all guests stayed until 10:00 which is a true testament of the success of the night. A very special shoutout to all the State Room staff for being very accommodating and professional – ours was the 3rd wedding of the weekend and the standards were just as high as if we were their first. I may be a bit late in writing this review, but the past year has only made me realize even more what a wonderful, unparalleled experience we had at The State Room for our wedding on 8/8/2020. I will admit that I am a bit biased, as I now get to say Tom is my father-in-law! Truly, though, the \"special treatment\" I experienced is what he gives to all brides and all couples. When Tom says he is going to be your father for the day, he really means it. He cares about his couples. He is a true professional with high standards and a meticulous routine for putting on a quality wedding, yet he is open to any and all ideas for making your wedding unique. We started our wedding planning with a guest list of 230+ and no real idea of what we wanted the day to look like. Tom quickly came in with ideas and helped us set everything in motion. A few months later, COVID hit and turned everything upside down. Although I was a nervous wreck, Tom never stopped assuring us that everything would work out and that we would have a great day no matter what. By our wedding date, we ended up with a reception of 48 people. Tom set the room up in such a way that it felt intimate and comfortable. All of the vendors he recommended did a fantastic job of not only putting out quality services, but making everyone feel safe and at-ease during a very uneasy season. The food should get it own separate review because it was just that good! The #1 comment I hear from guests is how amazing the food was and how they couldn't believe how well Tom put everything together. Everything was timed perfectly, the staff did a great job transitioning from course to course, and no one left hungry!!Thank you for an amazing day (we're glad you took a few breaks from the kitchen to enjoy it, too!). We had our wedding reception at the State Room on July 2nd and it was ABSOLUTELY everything we dreamed of! Where to even begin about how amazing Tom and his staff are..... We were supposed to get married there last November, but due to the pandemic needed to push our date back. Tom was so happy to help accommodate a new date for us which helped so much with the stress of it all. Fast forward to a few months before the party and a large portion of our guests were still not comfortable coming which changed our guest list quite drastically from our original numbers. Again, Tom was SO understanding and worked with us to make sure everything could still go as planned as much as possible. We had guest list changes up to the day before the event and Tom made us feel so comfortable and taken care of up to the moment the event began. On the date of the party we were greeted by Renee (who is unbelievably helpful, kind, and professional). She made sure we had everything we needed while we waited for our guests to arrive. Renee took care of every last detail from coordinating back and forth with the band during the party, making sure our food was perfect, and that we never had an empty glass. The food that Tom and his team pumps out from that kitchen blew everyone's mind and it was the main talk of all of our family members that night and the next day! Everything tasted incredible, the portions are huge, and you can tell how much love and effort goes into making sure that the food is perfect. The staff at The State Room were so on top of everything! Dinner service was impeccable and exactly on time, the staff was so kind and obliging to everything from dietary needs to grabbing drinks, clearing plates, I can't say enough! The bartenders were wonderful and professional and I know we kept them busy! Overall, our experience with Tom, Renee, and their staff at The State Room could not have been better. I cannot recommend this venue ENOUGH! Every last detail was perfection and the professionalism of Tom and his team made our day run more smoothly than I ever could have imagined. At our request he moved our date from October to June to make sure we were comfortable and happy on the day of our wedding. To say we had a perfect wedding day at the State Room is an understatement. On the day of the wedding we were able to focus on our friends and family instead of the small details. Tom took us to all of our photos in his amazing classic car and was so accommodating. Our guests raved about the food!! There was barely a moment when they weren’t eating. We loved every second of our wedding! Everything was absolutely perfect and we were so sad that the night had to end! From the first meeting with Tom, we knew we'd be well taken care of. The State Room offers so much more than any other venue we looked at and was very transparent with the pricing! We booked the venue before COVID hit, and Tom kept us up-to-date on the latest regulations. He helped us make both big and small decisions. He even helped us by reading over our vender contracts! We opted for the extra hour, with the late night munchies, which we highly recommend! Tom was at our church ceremony, and helped to keep everyone organized and calm. He offers to drive the couple in one of his vehicles. We had him drive our parents from the church to the reception, and he then came back and picked us up from photos! During the night, Tom is in the kitchen making sure every plate is equally amazing! At the end of the night, he made sure we got all the cards and presents, and then drove us to our hotel! He did such an incredible job in every aspect of our day! We have received so many compliments on the venue and food!! All of the wait staff was very helpful and accommodating! We loved Renee!! She made sure we were very well cared for as soon as we arrived. The open bar and bartenders also did an amazing job keeping the drinks flowing. We would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to get married in the Albany area!

He offers to drive the couple in one of his vehicles. We had him drive our parents from the church to the reception, and he then came back and picked us up from photos! During the night, Tom is in the kitchen making sure every plate is equally amazing! At the end of the night, he made sure we got all the cards and presents, and then drove us to our hotel! He did such an incredible job in every aspect of our day! We have received so many compliments on the venue and food!! All of the wait staff was very helpful and accommodating! We loved Renee!! She made sure we were very well cared for as soon as we arrived. The open bar and bartenders also did an amazing job keeping the drinks flowing. We would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to get married in the Albany area!

He took so much of the stress off of our shoulders during the planning process and on the wedding day itself. Firstly, any venue that was able to manage weddings during 2020 were under so much pressure and The State Room was no different. Regardless, Tom kept us sane throughout the year and was kind enough to not only offer us a backup date dependent upon how the year was going, but also to lower the standard of occupants, considering we knew many may not take the risk in coming. The venue was gorgeous and the layout of our decorations were perfect - it was so nice to have people on the day of check in on us as well and make sure we were taking time for ourselves. Especially right before walking down, Tom was super supportive and stayed there with me until my father came in to walk me. Both my now husband and I felt this entire venue was absolutely perfect in every way. I could say so much more but I'm afraid of running out of space and rambling on for too long. In short, highly recommended for any wedding, even our Halloween one!

Since the first day we stepped foot in the venue we fell in love! When we picked The State Room for our wedding venue, there was a sense of relief that we just knew our day would be perfect because we had the best team working with us to make it happen! Tom, Eric, and Tara worked closely with my husband and I to ensure that every detail of our special day was perfect. When my parents met Tom for the first time, he ensured them that he would make the day perfect as if it were his own daughter’s wedding day - and I can wholeheartedly say he did just that. Eric and Tara met with me on multiple occasions to discuss every little detail my husband and I envisioned for our wedding day and made sure that we were not at all stressed. The day of the wedding, Tara and Eric were by our side at all times to make sure everything was perfect. Every step of the way, Eric and Tara made sure that I was picture perfect – Tara fluffed my train before going down the aisle and Eric perfectly bustled my train. This team is just unbelievable!! My wife and I were married at The State Room on September, 21 2019, and we have to say, this review is incredibly difficult to write. Not for negative reasons, but because our wedding was so perfect, it is impossible to capture it in one short paragraph. We will start by saying that Eric, Tara, and Tom are not only the top level professionals you deserve for your big day, but the exact people you want! That is, if you want the best wedding you and your guests have ever attended; if not that's cool too, I guess. The State Room was one of the first venues we looked at, and after having a consultation with Tara, and viewing the room itself, we instantly knew this was the place. For the past year, Eric and Tara worked tirelessly for us, answering every little (and obnoxious) question we threw their way. However, the day of the wedding is really where Eric and staff shine. They will literally do ANYTHING for you to ensure your day goes off without a hitch! My wife had a mishap where she accidentally spilled some champagne on her dress before the ceremony; Eric literally was on his hands and knees blotting, and blow-drying her dress. If this doesn't demonstrate the level of dedication then we do not know what will. For Eric and his team, my wife and I are forever grateful. You need to book The State Room for Eric, Tara, and Tom's services alone, but if that did not convince you, maybe this will. The venue itself was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and in a great area of Albany (the architecture is top notch for pictures). Consumers beware, you will be fed; so come hungry. Though only a few days since the wedding, we have had numerous friends, and family tell us that this was not only the best wedding they have ever been to, but they could not believe the amount, and quality of the food. Not only does everything taste amazing, the staff worked incredibly hard to ensure all of our guests were well fed. So well fed in-fact that they were unsure they would be able to eat their entrees, but were completely taken back when their entrees were packaged to go for them; amazing touch. We cannot say enough about The State Room, and its wonderful staff. Thank you all for making it such a great day, and a special thank you to Eric, Tara, and Tom for making this wedding the best, and most memorable night of our lives! We cannot recommend the state room enough. Choosing this venue and this team was the best decision we made for our wedding. 10 out of 10 would recommend if you want the best wedding around. Cheers!

My wife and I were married at The State Room on September, 21 2019, and we have to say, this review is incredibly difficult to write. Not for negative reasons, but because our wedding was so perfect, it is impossible to capture it in one short paragraph. We will start by saying that Eric, Tara, and Tom are not only the top level professionals you deserve for your big day, but the exact people you want! That is, if you want the best wedding you and your guests have ever attended; if not that's cool too, I guess. The State Room was one of the first venues we looked at, and after having a consultation with Tara, and viewing the room itself, we instantly knew this was the place. For the past year, Eric and Tara worked tirelessly for us, answering every little (and obnoxious) question we threw their way. However, the day of the wedding is really where Eric and staff shine. They will literally do ANYTHING for you to ensure your day goes off without a hitch! My wife had a mishap where she accidentally spilled some champagne on her dress before the ceremony; Eric literally was on his hands and knees blotting, and blow-drying her dress. If this doesn't demonstrate the level of dedication then we do not know what will. For Eric and his team, my wife and I are forever grateful. You need to book The State Room for Eric, Tara, and Tom's services alone, but if that did not convince you, maybe this will. The venue itself was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and in a great area of Albany (the architecture is top notch for pictures). Consumers beware, you will be fed; so come hungry. Though only a few days since the wedding, we have had numerous friends, and family tell us that this was not only the best wedding they have ever been to, but they could not believe the amount, and quality of the food. Not only does everything taste amazing, the staff worked incredibly hard to ensure all of our guests were well fed. So well fed in-fact that they were unsure they would be able to eat their entrees, but were completely taken back when their entrees were packaged to go for them; amazing touch. We cannot say enough about The State Room, and its wonderful staff. Thank you all for making it such a great day, and a special thank you to Eric, Tara, and Tom for making this wedding the best, and most memorable night of our lives! We cannot recommend the state room enough. Choosing this venue and this team was the best decision we made for our wedding. 10 out of 10 would recommend if you want the best wedding around. Cheers!

On the day of my wedding all of my bridesmaids were shocked at how calm I was, because I knew we were in good hands and I knew they had everything under control. When I arrived to the venue I was completely blown away at just how amazing they had made everything come together and brought my vision to life. Two days later we are still getting messages about how amazing entire day was. Our guests were blown away by the beautiful historic building and it’s classy atmosphere, the beautiful decor, the delicious food and the amazing staff. Our wedding day was a dream come true and we could not be happier with our decision.

As mother of the bride on September 1, 2019, I am still crying tears of joy! Tom was wonderful, making us feel like family, and I just can't thank Eric enough for all his kindness, grace, compassion, wisdom and guidance through what was a dream come true on our special day. As one with a few special needs, Eric looked out for me, as well as for the bride and groom. After the ceremony, when the photographer led the wedding party up the hill to the park for some great pictures, I realized I could only go part way due to walking difficulties (along with another family member), and my cane was back inside, upstairs, in the room my daughter and I spent a few precious moments before the ceremony. Anyway, our hotel shuttle came for us, we got to the site of the pictures, and then I turned and saw Eric running up the hill with my cane!! I was moved to tears (again!). When I thanked him profusely, he said, \"Oh, I just needed some fresh air!\" Then Tom took me and my other family member back down the hill to The State Room in his 1940-something cadillac, a special moment! All the staff was wonderful, the food was beyond excellent (and plenty of it!), and Eric went out of his way to care for us, and I see him as an angel sent to us on this day! Thank you, Eric, for going beyond, and sharing your loving kindness with us!

It was our first stop after we did get engaged and when we left the tour we said why would we go anywhere else? The staff is incredible, the food is out of this world, and they take care of everything for you! I was not stressed a single bit for this wedding. My husband and I were married at the State Room April 27, 2019. It has taken so long to write this review because I honestly did not know the words to express how much we love The State Room and how grateful we are for everything they did for us and our wedding. From the first moment I met Eric and toured the venue I knew the State Room was where we were going to be married. We live in California so we were having to plan the wedding from across the country and it was so important to us to have vendors that we trusted and we knew would be there for us on this side. Eric and Tara made the whole planning process so, so easy. They were available to answer any questions that we had and were so gracious and knowledgeable . When we finally arrived the week of our wedding and met with them to go over final details, we left the meeting even more excited and with absolutely no worries about our day at all. We knew we could hand over everything to them and the day would be perfect. It's obvious that they have done this for a long time, and also that they truly love what they do. They will do whatever they can to ensure your day is everything you wanted and make sure it goes off without a hitch. Tara was even sewing the straps on my wedding dress just before I walked down the aisle! The whole day was everything we could have ever asked for. The venue is stunning and the food is amazing. No one will leave hungry (including the bride and groom), our guests were shocked when the food just kept coming. Everyone who works there worked so hard to make the day perfect and because of all of the wonderful staff we did not have to worry about anything and we could just enjoy the party! It's been months since our wedding and we still have friends and family raving about how perfect our wedding was, how beautiful the venue is, and how INCREDIBLE the food was. I truly cannot say enough great things about The State Room and I cannot recommend them enough. Choosing the State Room as our venue was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. My husband and I were just married there on June 22, 2019. Words can not completely describe how fantastic they were. Tom, Eric, and Tara are the best team I have had the pleasure of working with. My entire family fell in love with the team, the venue, the atmosphere, and especially the food! We had around 170 people there and there wasn't a single complaint (Which is shocking from our opinionated families). They say you usually don't get to eat on your wedding day but after the cocktail hour, the main courses, and the fun food at the end I'm pretty sure I gained 5 pounds. People were astounded when food kept pouring out of the kitchen. Also, this venue knows how to keep the party going. The drinks were flowing and the dance floor was packed. Everyone was ready to PARTY! I was able to hand them everything and it was all set up when I got there. It was like a dream. There are so many little things that I didn't even consider and this team was so accommodating they walk you through everything and you never feel overwhelmed. They are a mixture of confidence, tranquility, and dedication that you feel you can breathe when you are planning with them. Their professionalism is outstanding and they know that their job is to make what you need happen. I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Simply amazing! Booking The State Room was by far the best decision I made for my wedding. The room is beautiful and unique, unlike no other venue I've ever seen. All the little details make for the most gorgeous back drop to your special day. The wedding coordinators Eric and Tara could not make the planning process any easier and enjoyable. There is not a worry in the world when working with these two, they help you plan and work directly with the vendors to coordinate your special day. They also manage of all the details that people would typically forget about. You want it, they make it happen! They honestly took the stress away. No bridezilla here. The State Room provides a unique experience like no other. The vendor list is the most helpful and is full of professional and talented people/companies. The classic car added such a special touch, my groom loved it. The pianist set the mood for the ceremony and cocktail hour, he played absolutely beautifully. The food, oh my gosh the food! From the stationary and passed hor d'oeuvres, to the sit down dinner, and the late night snack session it was all AMAZING! My guests are still talking about the food months later. The quality, variety, and amount of food is out of this world! I've never been to a wedding with so much food, no one went home hungry. Rumor has it that brides don't eat on their wedding day, not at The State Room!What is good food without good drinks?! Biggest selection of alcohol by far! There was an option for every palate- numerous wine selections, beer, and liquor. My guests could not believe that they had a choice between all of these options! The bartenders kept it flowing. I'm so sad my wedding day is over, I think about it on a daily basis. I would relive it in a heartbeat and I would not change a thing!
