I cannot recommend this venue enough! Julie and her team were fantastic throughout the entire process and the wedding day itself. She was professional, helpful, and just an absolute joy to have around us. Our guests agreed too! We received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and just how wonderful the staff was from the check-in desk to the valets, to the bartenders, everyone. Our guests also loved the terrace! They loved being able to sit by the fire or look out over the river and still be a part of the party. If you want a stress-free and fun wedding, please please please book them!

When my husband and I were looking for a wedding venue we had such a hard time! We were right in the middle of trying to book with all the Covid brides rescheduling their weddings. Everywhere was pretty much booked. We wanted outside, fall, but still covered in case of bad weather. I signed up for the knot and looked up outdoor venues near me and the Hyatt house came up. Neither of us heard of them before so once we looked through the pictures I really wanted to go get a tour! Carolyn Messaged us back pretty fast and scheduled us for a tour. Since then it was a breeze! Carolyn and Julie showed us around explained everything perfectly and answered all of our questions. They were both SOOOO nice and I couldnāt have been happier to book with them! The process was so easy we worked with Julie the whole time after that and she was great! Any questions I had she would respond that day and if not literally the next day. When she says she wears her heart on her sleeve she truly means it! Rehearsal she made sure everything and everyone knew what they were doing and where they had to be. The wedding dayā¦ I donāt think I could imagine anyone else helping besides Julie. She checked on me, made sure I had everything I needed, made sure all the bridesmaids were good, and even my children! The staff is also EXTREMELY nice! The whole stay they were amazing, sweet, caring, just all around once again perfect!! Our guests gave us so many compliments throughout the night all the way up till right now we are still getting compliments on how beautiful the wedding was and how nice the staff was. And Iām so happy that not just ourselves but our guests had a great experience with them too. Julie set everything up and itās like she took the vision right out of my head and put it onto the tables and everywhere else. And not to mention if it werenāt for Julie my dress would have never gotten bustled up right š. It was truly the most perfect day in every way possible! I can not thank Julie enough for everything she has done for us and the time she took to make our day so special and perfect! Iām sad itās all over because Iām going to miss her so much but I will be stopping down to see her when Iām in the area! The MOST committed and dedicated team! They were so responsive and great with communication. On the day of, Julie was so willing to go above and beyond to make whatever happen. She has a great eye for detail and was willing to change things last minute if needed. The venue itself was clean, beautiful and very well taken care of. All of the tables and chairs look clean and brand new. Julie and her team were the best to work with and did so much of the work that I didnāt have to think about any of it!

As the mother of the bride, I recently had the opportunity to meet Julie from The Terrace at Hyatt House Pittsburgh- South Side. When my daughter and son in law meet Julie last year, in the planning of there wedding, they connected with Julie from the beginning. Julie was there for the wedding rehearsal and the day of the wedding. She was a true professional from start to finish.I can't thank Julie enough for everything she did and we so appreciate all the details. She exceeded my expectations, being organized, accessible, attentive to detail and caring for everyone involved. Everything went smoothly and the service was impeccable. Simply said, the night was magical for my daughter and son in law. They both will have amazing wedding memories that will last a lifetime. Secondly, Julie makes sure that the couple and their family/friends are 100% comforatable and happy from planning to execution. I am SO confident in saying that Julie completely made our wedding experience. She is truly one of kind and is so amazing at what she does. She is very detailed oriented and so quick to respond to any questions you may have (as small as that may seem, itās huge to a stressful bride!) .. whatever the Hyatt pays her, they should double it - seriously! She helped set up our entire ceremony and reception (and with the help of tropical storm Ophelia - completely change it last minute to even been an a more perfect setting). We love Julie and look forward to stopping in just to say hello or stay at the Hyatt for a night out in Pittsburgh.

The Terrace was the best of both world for us - an outdoor tent wedding in the city! It was perfect for our summer wedding reception. All of our guests enjoyed their stay in the hotel, the location (so much to do now in the South Side!), and the reception. You have the freedom to make your vision come to life in this space. If anything - this place is the best because of Julie, the coordinator! She truly goes above and beyond to make sure everything goes exactly the way you want and she makes sure you donāt lift a finger the weekend of your wedding š she is hands down the BEST Iāve ever met.

We loved this venue right away when we toured and met Julie. As soon as we left we were in agreement that we wanted to book our wedding here. We are very happy with the experience we had with our venue. From the start, Julie was very easy to work with and available to us for any questions we had throughout the process. We communicated over email with her many times and always got prompt responses and answers to our questions. One of the best things about this venue is that they took care of all of the set up/ clean up for us on the day of the event. We were really happy to be able to enjoy the night with our guests following the reception and go across the street to one of the bars instead of staying behind to clean up. Julie and her team had the ceremony and reception area set up perfectly for us and everything looked beautiful! The next day everything was ready for us to take home in a conference room as well. Overall we would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a fun place to hold your wedding in the SouthSide Works area. If I were to go back I would book with them over again without a doubt!

Julie and her staff are so great! We had an amazing experience with having our wedding here. Everything was planned to a T and the day of coordination was spectacular. Highly recommend having your wedding here! I had my wedding 7-8-23 and they made it a breeze. Julie worked her butt off making the day perfect, she is amazing and even flew back and forth to a funeral out of town twice to make sure she was there for it. The rooms at the hotel are beautiful as was the venue. Having the hoffbrahaus next door for rehearsal and pins mechanical next door for the after party made this so convenient and fun for guests. Obviously it was a little hot as a July wedding but after dinner it cooled off and didnāt bother me personally. Julie and Carolyn were super responsive and answered all 100 of my emails throughout the year. If your wedding is 150 or under this is a no brainer.

They were very prompt with their responses to any questions we had and incredibly accommodating to our requests. We did not have to stress about the venue set up or tear down because they did it all for us, and did not rush us to get all of our decorations out of the room they were stored in the next day. The hotel rooms were beautiful, clean, and good sizes, and it's in an amazing location with Pins and several other restaurants being right nearby. I can not say enough good things about Julie and the venue.

My daughter and son-in-law's wedding was June 17, 2023 at the beautiful Terrace at Hyatt House Pittsburgh-South Side. It could not have been a more perfect venue with the perfect Director of Banquets, Julie Hutto. From day one, I felt confident that it was going to be a perfect day with Julie as our wedding coordinator. She was informative, experienced, pleasant and always available anytime I had a question (or twenty). I NEVER felt anxious about any aspect of the wedding. The venue was beautiful, clean and the perfect location. The staff was pleasant and always available if we needed anything. I highly recommend this venue and Julie Hutto.

From helping us arrange the wedding decor to advising on vendors and directing the catering and everything else, Julie and the staff will make sure that the day runs perfectly!! From helping us arrange the wedding decor to advising on vendors and directing the catering and everything else, Julie and the staff will make sure that the day runs perfectly!! If I had to do it all over again, I would pick The Terrace 100 times over. The venue is absolute perfection - the location is gorgeous (plenty of spots to take great wedding photos), it's convenient, and provides the perfect mix of indoor/outdoor setup. I would be remiss not to mention Julie and her amazing staff who took wonderful care of us and our guests the entire weekend. Julie is truly passionate about her couples and made planning our wedding so easy. She was so responsive and kind during our year of planning. Our guests were also in awe of her! She answered my MANY emails leading up to the wedding and put all my worries at ease. Even the week of the wedding, I was extremely nervous about the high temps predicted for our wedding day and Julie suggested purchasing mini fans for our guests to include on the ceremony chairs. We did just that and they were an absolute hit! Her and her team kept the day running very smoothly, set up all of our decorations perfectly, and even provided mimosas for my bridal party while we were getting ready! She truly though of everything and had every detail under control so that we could enjoy our day. We would book the Terrace again in a heartbeat- the venue & Julie (plus her team) are the absolute best and we canāt recommend enough!!

Julie and her crew made my day memorable!! Julie was amazing and had everything looking so beautiful and running smoothly. Her and her crew were polite and very attentive to me and my husbands wishes/needs! I would recommend this venue for any ceremony because Julie really goes above and beyond for you!!

When we canceled our wedding in California due to Covid we were scrambling to find a venue in Pittsburgh that was still available. I loved the Terrace at Hyatt House because it was outside, in the city with a nature vibe, everything was in one spot and we met and lived in the Southside so it had that nostalgia. I am SO glad we chose this spot. It was convenient for all of our guests to stay there, the Terrace itself is beautiful and spacious and the team there is incredible. Julie and Emily went above and beyond to work with us, our wedding planners and our vendors to make sure our day was perfect. They are so easy to communicate with and timely in their responses. Itās also nice because you can utilize a lot that they already have there (bar, bartenders, linens, chairs, tables, flatware/plates etc) but also weāre very accommodating when we brought some vintage chairs and additional things in. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

While the views are incredible, the space is beautiful, and it's dog friendly which is always a perk, Julie is the absolute best. We were able to seamlessly change our date from July 2020 to the following year due to Covid, with a simple email. On the day of our reception, Julie and her staff handled EVERYTHING. They worked with the DJ and caterer and were able to keep everything moving smoothly. There was not a single moment where things were out of control or stressful (that I noticed at least!). We had many compliments from guests who had never been to the venue about our bartenders (provided by the Hyatt) and about Julie herself! I cannot say enough about this place. The firepit and couches were available for guests who wanted to sit and relax. They provided corn hole boards if you opted into that, which were enjoyed by many. There was a comfortable seating area along the river for people to enjoy the lovely views. And the tent. The word \"tent\" just doesn't do it justice. Beautiful chandeliers, the DJ's uplighting, and the centerpieces that Julie's staff put up for us that morning, were perfect. We would recommend the Terrace to anyone for any occasion. Our night couldn't have been more perfect.

Gorgeous views of downtown with breezes off the river while you watch the sunset over the PGH skyline - our guests were really impressed. Wonderful experience for my daughter's bridal shower. The event coordinator and staff were very responsive, ready and eager to help with set up before, during, and clean up after the event. We took advantage of the Sunday Shower Special which proved to be economical and elegant. This tented outdoor venue has a nice view of the river.

Our wedding reception at the Terrace at Hyatt House (Southside-Pittsburgh) was perfect. Everything we could have asked for. Our wedding coordinator, Julie, was THE BEST. She always was available to respond to our questions quickly. She made sure she was in touch with all of our other vendors as well to make sure everyone was on the same page. She also did a great job of putting my wedding vision together with all of our decor the day of... She snuck me outside before our wedding to see everything coming together and I couldnāt have been happier. Our wedding was SO FUN and we heard from so many people how cool the venue was. The bartenders provided by the Hyatt House made sure all of our guests were happy as well. You really canāt go wrong with this venue. Itās outdoor with a beautiful view of the river, but thereās great coverage under the tent thatās provided. I just want to thank the Hyatt House and Julie again for truly giving us our ābest day ever.ā

We got married on 9/21/19 at the Hyatt. When looking at venues, we knew that The Terrace would be \"the one\" because we felt so comfortable in the environment and with the staff! Julie and her staff were amazing to work with, too! They set up all the decorations and took everything down at the end. My family and I did not have to worry about a single thing! They stored it in a holding room, and we took it home the next day. Julie knew exactly what she was doing, and we completely trusted our wedding in her hands. She put us at ease. Did I mention you get a free night at the hotel and bottle of champagne for your table?!? Thank you for an amazing day!

We held our ceremony and reception at the Hyatt House on September 1st and we just had the most amazing experience! Julie, the coordinator, is beyond outstanding. She was so quick with getting back to my endless emails and always put my mind at ease. I knew we were in great hands. She and her staff were meticulous with set up and making sure everything went smoothly. I can't say enough good things about her!Hotel staff were extremely friendly. Rooms were nice and spacious. Location, you just can't beat! There was so much to do for our out of town guests. This served as the perfect location all around. Highly recommended!

The Terrace at Hyatt House was the perfect venue for my wedding! I wanted an outdoor venue, but wasn't looking for a barn or anything too country. It still has the city feel, without being right in the city. And the setting right along the river made it feel like the waterfront wedding I always wanted. The best thing about the Terrace is that everything was right there, which made it so convenient both for us and for our guests who came from out of town and those who chose to stay the night of our wedding. We didn't even have to worry about renting any transportation. The hotel is relatively new, is modern and extremely clean, and even offers complimentary breakfast in the morning, which was great for our guests. Plus, they have their own tent! Another venue quoted me upwards of $10,000 just to rent a tent that could hold the number of guests we were estimating! The Terrace provided plenty of options for caterers, which makes it a better choice than having a country club wedding - which we also considered - and being stuck with their often sub-par food. We went with Sausalido which was phenomenal! Finally, I have nothing but good things to say about Julie. Julie was absolutely great to work with. She was super accommodating, and always answered all of my questions in a timely manner. I would recommend the Terrace at Hyatt House to anyone looking for an outdoor venue!

My husband and I just got married here in May 2019! It was the most amazing wedding and everything ran so smooth and perfect. Our event manager,Julie, was so helpful and hands on. Julie Hutto, the wedding coordinator, is a true gem & wedding genius! She went above & beyond any of our expectations & took care of more than we thought we even needed. She had an answer to every single question, email & phone call my mom & I asked for 6 months straight. She made the day of run so smoothly & made sure everything looked perfect decor wise like I envisioned. I promise you will not regret booking this as your wedding venue! The event coordinator Julie is literally one of the most amazing people I have ever worked with & made the entire experience as stress free as possible. The journey of planning my wedding was a little difficult at first because I relocated to another country 6 months before the wedding. The wedding planner at the Hyatt House also changed mid way through. And I have to say it was a blessing. The whole experience with the Hyatt House-Southside was amazing from the start. Working with Julie was also a blessing. She is like your best friend or even sister when it comes to planning. The whole staff was extremely helpful. They were excited for our wedding too, so they made us feel extra special. The day of the wedding is such a whirlwind of emotions. Julie made it totally stress free. She checked in with me throughout the day and made me feel like a princess. She was definitely a rock through the whole process. And if I could live that day over and over again, I would have not changed a single thing at the Hyatt. I would highly recommend using this venue. The location is perfect, and it's a beautiful site overlooking the river. There are a lot of options for some great pictures. The tent is already lit up for you with string lights. But the wedding planner will help you decorate to your liking. Also, they have heaters in the tent, if and when needed. We definitely needed them that day. We used an outside food vendor, but that process was super easy as well. The wedding planner took care of everything on the day of. She handled the communication between the vendors. And she never showed any stress or frustration (if there was any behind the scenes, you would never know). Because I relocated, my main communication was via email. Julie also replied to me very quickly. Or she let me know if she was super busy, or finding an answer for me. We truly had the best day ever, and a big part of it was the Hyatt House-Southside.

I cannot say enough about this venue. We got married on the terrace sept 8, 2018. Julie, our coordinator provided by the venue, was beyond spectacular. Having changed coordinators only a month or so before our wedding was a bit nerve racking but Julie put our fears to rest immediately. She was so detail oriented and communicated very quickly and completely surpassed our expectations. Unfortunately it rained most of our day so last minute the ceremony had to be changed to being set up under the tent but it turned out beautifully. Julie was on top of everything and included me in on every decision. Our day was perfect! The views from the terrace are unbelievable and you can see the city from it. Photo ops are endless, from the river walk to the hot metal bridge. It was perfect to have our ceremony, reception and hotel all in one place. Thank you to Julie and the entire hotel staff!!!

We got married at the Hyatt House on August 25th and I can't say enough good things. From the front desk staff, to the hotel manager, to the maintenance man, the bartenders, and ESPECIALLY our coordinator Julie; everyone was just fantastic to work with. Julie took over our wedding with only a few weeks between her state date and the wedding date and you would have never known. She made everything absolutely perfect and our parents and guests even couldn't say enough good things about how on top of it she was. Sure, there were a few issues going into it like a fuse blowing but we didn't have to lift a finger and everything was fixed and the day was absolutely perfect. I am the most type- A perfectionist person and I would recommend this venue and the people who work for it to anyone I talk to. They made sure our wedding day was a dream come true!

If I could give this ten stars, I would! My daughter got married here on April 28, 2018. So many great things to say, I don't know where to start. First, Andrea (the events coordinator) was the BEST!! She went over and beyond any expectations I had and made hosting the reception here the best experience possible. They set up the whole reception, placed the flowers on the table, placed all the dinner place settings perfectly, made last minute adjustments when it was too windy to host the cocktail hour outside, and Andrea and staff even stepped in and helped out when the caterer did not send enough staff to serve our guests. My daughter had a particular type of ambient lighting she wanted, but when they went to install it, it wasn't working properly (due to the type of lights she picked out.) The staff member in charge of installing these (I wish I could remember his name) knew how important it was to my daughter, so he thought about it for a while and then figured out a way to rig it to make it work. Just another way they went above and beyond!I am a florist, and was doing the flowers for the wedding. They graciously gave me a room to work in for TWO days before the wedding so I could arrange all the flowers on site, and then kept the AC as low as possible to help preserve the flowers. What other reception venue would have done that?!Despite being the last weekend in April, it was a very chilly night. They made sure the tent heater was working properly, and then had two staff members literally open and close the tent flap entrance every single time someone came in and out of the tent in order to keep the heat in and the cold out. Andrea was also in contact with the caterer, DJ and photographer to make sure everyone was on the same page as far as timing and scheduling for the evening went. She really was like a wedding planner for the whole reception. If you book this venue for your reception, you will NOT be disappointed! They will literally do anything they can to make sure your wedding is perfect. Thank you Andrea and staff for making our daughter's wedding reception perfect!

We really loved the layout and location of this venue, but the staff is why I rate this venue 5 stars. The helpfulness, professionalism, courtesy and thoughtfulness of the staff exceeded my expectations. Andrea, the wedding and events coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure everything was just how we wanted it and included a few extra special touches and gestures that really made our day extra special. We really loved the layout and location of this venue, but the staff is why I rate this venue 5 stars. The helpfulness, professionalism, courtesy and thoughtfulness of the staff exceeded my expectations. This was such a unique place to have our wedding. We had a lot of out of town guests so it was wonderful to have our guests stay on location. We had both our ceremony and reception there. We had so little to worry about as the team coordinated everything and it worked out perfectly. The location is ideal as it provides your guests and opportunity to venture out before and after the wedding to the multiple bars restaurants. Great staff, beautiful event!

I cannot rave about The Terrace at Hyatt House enough! Ashley made sure our plans were executed perfectly. She and the staff at this South Side location are absolutely amazing. The venue is beautiful for an outdoor ceremony and reception under the white tent. We had no worries on our \"Big Day\" thanks to all of the great people at this venue.

We had our wedding at the outdoor Terrace at the Hyatt House on October 1st, and while the weather was unpredictable, the Events Coordinator, Ashley, was so wonderful to work with that all the stress and worry related to having an outdoor wedding were minimal. She is a rockstar. I dropped all of our decorations off and went through the setup with her and she made me feel at ease and had everything set up exactly how I would have pictured it for our big day. I knew that if anything went wrong she would handle it, and that peace of mind was so appreciated during a stressful time. Our only complaint was that the front desk was not the easiest to deal with and a lot of our hotel bags did not get handed out, which was a bit frustrating. But Ashley was so easy going and pleasant to work with that despite a few road blocks, we were very happy with our choice.

This was a wonderful venue. We had a Friday wedding and for about 3,500 we were able to have both our ceremony and reception. The venue included set up and tear down. They literally decorated for me and packed everything up. It made everything stress free. They were great at communicating with our vendors so we did not have to. All staff was friendly and courteous. There were even options to choose from included linen colors. A room came with our booking, and it was lovely too. I couldn't have asked for a nicer venue. We were able to take pictures right off site on the river walk and hot metal bridge that turned out amazing. They also were accommodating to allow us in for a rehearsal the night before and allowed us to store our items in a room overnight the day before as well. We got tons of compliments about how beautiful the location was, and the pictures turn out stunning. They do have a list of preferred caterers that are more expensive, but we found one that was really willing to work with our budget! Again, couldn't be happier!

Absolutely beautiful venue! As soon as my husband and I saw it, we didn't need to see any other place! Our wedding was perfect and a lot of the credit goes to the gorgeous venue! The staff is amazing to deal with and they are very helpful with the planning. The day of the wedding, they set up all of the decorations for me, which was a huge help! I loved having my wedding at The Terrace!

Julie Hutto (Manager) Julie has been in the event planning industry for over 15 years now. Her diverse experience is extensive including weddings, corporate events, black tie galas, theater shows, showers, bar mitzvahs, and concerts. For 11 years Julie worked as an Event Manager for Carnival Cruise Lines and helped organize and execute several concerts and their Las Vegas style production shows. Her outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation talents, including the ability to handle a variety of events simultaneously, make her an important part of the family here at Hyatt House.
