Stephanie Whetsell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-08-2021 All of the staff at The Tides were wonderful to work with from start to finish. The venue has been renovated recently, and the outdoor deck overlooking the beach is breathtaking with travertine tile floors and white benches for guests, and gorgeous Atlantic ocean views: our wedding was absolutely stunning. Direct beach access is not available behind the venue, but at the other end of the parking lot there is a boardwalk down to the beach. Packages were available for DIY weddings, all-inclusive with bar, food, and florist along with some other options for couples who are in between. We chose the AI and were not disappointed. Everyone raved about the appetizers and dinner, and our bartender Teresa took special care of us throughout the night (and again in the morning at a smaller brunch with family). Fred was on top of having everything positioned as it needed to be, and the Chef took care of my niece with severe food allergies, so she was able to have a fantastic time as well. Amanda runs the catering department and is who we spent a lot of time with either in person, email or on the phone leading up to our event and she made sure we had everything we needed. She even snapped a few pictures while I was waiting with my dad to walk down the aisle. The bridal suite is beautiful and gave me plenty of space to get ready with close friends and family, and the groom had a special separate room as well. There are a few different locations within the venue for ceremony and/or reception -- we were in the large ballroom that can easily accommodate 200 people. Prices were super competitive with other venues we looked at (if not cheaper!) but you either need a sponsor (who is a member, veteran, or active-duty military) or to be active duty/veteran status yourself. We have joked that we would love to have the celebration again and again every Saturday (if there were no financial implications!) -- our wedding will be remembered and cherished forever, and The Tides was perfect in every way for our special night. We want to say what a lovely wedding your people worked so hard to prepare and deliver. Our granddaughter, Danielle Callahan Kiernan, was married there on the 12th of Nov. Amanda was a great help to her and to us when we had questions. She recommended vendors to help with every aspect of the wedding including the florist. Everything she suggested was a great idea and so helpful. The florist that she recommended took time with our granddaughter helping her decide on colors, flowers, table settings. She was amazing, and everything was just beautiful. We especially want to thank the chef: the prime rib was delicious, but we ran out, and the Mahi was cooked perfectly - not overdone as so many places make the mistake of doing. Same for the asparagus, not mushy but nicely done with a little snap. The salted caramel cupcakes were very good. We were relived to see the deck still in good shape and the sunset was spectacular! Of course the libations were thoroughly enjoyed and the bartender was so gracious under pressure. Victoria is just wonderful and made everyone feel at home, remembering their names and what they drank! Amazing. We would recommend The Tides hands down to anyone that asks. The BBQ buffet and appetizers were delicious. All of the guest loved the laid back atmosphere and the friendly staff. They had a few major renovations before our wedding which looked wonderful. We did have a small bump in the road during our wedding planning. The Tides deck was under construction during the time of our wedding. However, Nicky was able to provide a couple other options and our wedding ended up being the best day every! I highly recommend having any event at the the Tides! Reviewed on 12-07-2019

The decorations were beautiful, the food was tasty and the staff was awesome! We had to move our ceremony indoors due to rain and Juliann and the staff made the indoor space so beautiful that it didn't even matter we couldn't be outside. Amy Hillis(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-10-2015 My husband and I selected the tides for location; we planned the wedding from Virginia and Montana. Things went well in early planning though I had to make multiple calls to get responses in the spring, which was nerve wracking. Nearing the wedding month, I was worried due to turnover in the staff and my info being passed off from one person to another. I also saw some lackluster reviews of summer weddings there online. \rBut, I have to say the new manager, Jeffrey, stepped in and got things on the right path. He helped us do the last minute details and was there all evening to see the wedding through. Hope was super helpful with the linens. \rThe perk of the Tides is the setting. Beautiful beach. And it did not disappoint. \rThe food was good, especially for an O/NCO club. And the wine Jeffrey recommended was stellar. I'm told the cocktails were good, though I didn't get any!\rI'd give five stars except three things. First: a professional bartender would be a good touch. We were holding the dinner toast because the bar was backed up, and we had expressed concern for a backed up bar in planning and been reassured. The groom had to wait for beer. We bought Mai tais, Mojitos Pinot Noir, beer and champagne. So we should have had a bartender who staged a few drinks so folks wouldn't be waiting.\rThe second issue is related. We paid gratuity as part of our contract. But someone put a tip jar out at the bar. Foul. We should have been asked. And frankly, no jar should be there for a bartender making people wait. That rubbed us wrong as we paid for the service already. \rFinally, when the previous wedding broke from the deck and my bridesmaids and groomsmen were cleared to set up ours, a bunch of previous wedding goers hung out at the base of the deck smoking. My groom had to continually shoo them. I think the Tides staff can be more mindful of this. Last thing you want wafting around as guests arrive is Billy Bob's cigarette butt embers. \rThat said, Jeffrey was accommodating in ensuring set up of the deck and decorative arch, flower storage, etc. \rAll things considered, we were pleased. 1001 N. Highway A1A bldg 967, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, 32925, Brevard\r\rPlease if you are thinking of a wedding go somewhere else. The ceremony was fine on the deck but the trouble started at the dinner. The wedding party was only 14. We waited 30 mins before anyone approached the table, drinks took another 30. The service was so bad my mother almost cried. The food took over two hour for rare steaks and fish all were burnt and dry. But by the time the food came out 8 of our guest and family had to leave. My bride and I had to deliver the food to the families this crap food because they had not eaten yet. Sad at $20 plus for each dish plus a cook yelling and cruising in the kitchen for us all to hear. The wedding cake was brought out and just put on a open table behind our with no table cloth. I had to go to a find one so we could take cake pictures. At the end of all of this the manager eat the bill but please don't put your special day in the hands of this joke of a restaurant. It is truly sad they might represent the Air Force that might have a wedding there. \rIn the end we ended up at my mother's for cake pictures and subs. \rGood luck\r Reviewed on 05-05-2014

Danielle Hendryx(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-10-2013 I had a lot of problems with them double booking the venue, hidden charges, the bar tap was crazy(over $30 per minute), and I spend $2k in drapping trying to hide the ugly ballroom. Seemed like a good idea because of the price of food, but was a lot of work and ended up cost a lot more than having my wedding at one of the hotels on the beach. Save yourself the head ache, and go with a place that is up front and has been better taken care of... for example the deck had lights falling/hanging all over that didn't appear to even work anymore. Just seems run down and out of date. Reviewed on 06-11-2013

The food also tasted very good. We had enough space for our about 150 guests. The only issue I had was the planner that we dealt with was not the greatest. Her customer service personality was not friendly and inviting, and I would not recommend having to deal with her. They need to have a better knowledge of their equipment. We chose to get married at 7:00 pm, so the sun was just going down, & there was a lovely breeze. I also loved the fact that it was on the beach, but also on the deck, so we did not have to walk on the sand. Jamie Locke(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-10-2010 We were on a budget and we both happened to be prior military (currently on IRR). This place was an awesome beach location. The price was phenomenal. The service-minus the bartender-was worth it. There wasn't a place for the groom to get ready, but me, my bridesmaids, and the mothers (along with the photographer) had plenty of elbow room in the room designated for the bride. The bartender really ruined it for us. He was rude-not only to my guests, but to the groom and my Mom. That did not sit well with me. We chose a dollar limit bar, and when it reached that limit, requested to add an additional amount. After that additional amount we would have liked the opportunity to add more or change it into a cash bar, instead the bartender had other plans. He said (to my Mom) that we (the whole party) drank too much and he was closing down. We requested a keg of Coors Light and they gave us Bud Light. Their policy was to not have tip jars out-but we requested them...and now regret it. Initially our guests were so happy that it was an open bar they were stuffing 20's, 10's and 5's in his jar. Towards the end of the night they wouldn't have given him the lint in their pockets. If you use them, ask who the bartender will be that night and make sure he hasn't had any complaints against him. \rBe sure to try the coconut shrimp and Swedish meatballs as appetizers-tasty!\rBe sure to try the coconut shrimp and sweddish meatballs as appetizers-tasty!
