Rich in tradition and heritage, The Toledo Club stands as one of the most outstanding city clubs in the nation. Since 1889, this private, downtown club has welcomed all couples (member and non-member) and offers the community a setting for many festive parties in one of the most notable works of architecture in the city. Since there are no reviews here since 2019, I thought I'd share our experience. Let me be clear, the venue is gorgeous and the food was great. I got so many compliments on that! BUT there were SO many issues with the people who run this place. The first thing happened within just a couple of weeks of booking this venue. They told me my date was available and we paid the deposit. I then booked my photographer and DJ, and then the club tells me the date I chose isn't actually available. We met with multiple different employees during this time. They all blamed one another for every mistake that was made. It was one big blame game. No one took accountability! As time passes, I go in to have my tasting. 2 women were there to take notes. I then go in a few weeks later to meet with another new employee to finalize details. She was confused by the notes left during our tasting by the other 2 women and I had to tell her everything we tried and wanted all over again. She said she had to make sure the dishes we had tasted were even on the correct menu they use for weddings. So then we go over details of when we can decorate the club. We were told from day 1, we could decorate the night before the wedding. But, of course, she tells me 2 months before the wedding, we can't decorate until the morning of. That was a huge concern to me but she then says we can get in as early as 6am to decorate so its no big deal. A couple weeks go by and my mom calls just to confirm that someone will be there to let us in Saturday morning to decorate. And guess what? She tells us we can't decorate until NOON on Saturday. And I misunderstood her at our meeting. Lol. I can't stress enough how many times we got completely different answers from people at the club. And another thing.. we also said from day 1 we wanted gold chairs with ivory cushions. I only found out from an email they had put in the chair order for black chairs with black cushions. At that point, I couldn't comprehend how many times they messed something up. I emailed back saying that is not what we asked for. She tells me that was a \"mistype\" but also blamed it on another women who works there claiming she just assumed I wanted all black.. so was it a mistype or did she just assume I wanted black? Anyways, they got me the gold chairs in the end. I'm so glad I had 2 wedding planners to help us the day of the wedding. I'm not sure what we would've done without them. If you book this venue, make sure you have a wedding planner! We wouldn't have had time to decorate and get ready on the same day without them. One last thing, we got drink toppers and stir sticks to be placed in the drinks at the reception. I never received any in my drinks and none of the bridal party I've asked so far remember seeing anything like that. The club did say the drink toppers were too wide for some of the glasses. But I saw martini glasses that were plenty wide enough for them. They just didn't seem to try very hard. I'm sure there's more things I'm missing. I left that venue multiple times in tears. It's been almost a year since the wedding of our lifetime! I just wanted to let everyone know how beautiful my son's wedding was at The Toledo Club. Devon, our wedding coordinator was very professional and helpful in going thru the process of planning the wedding. Everything about The Toledo Club was 1st class. From the ceremony on the first floor to the dinner on the next floor and dancing on the third floor was so elegant, everyone loved the whole venue. The food was exceptional. Just wish it didn't go as fast!!!

It's been almost a year since the wedding of our lifetime! I just wanted to let everyone know how beautiful my son's wedding was at The Toledo Club. Devon, our wedding coordinator was very professional and helpful in going thru the process of planning the wedding. Everything about The Toledo Club was 1st class. From the ceremony on the first floor to the dinner on the next floor and dancing on the third floor was so elegant, everyone loved the whole venue. The food was exceptional. Just wish it didn't go as fast!!!

We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding!! The Toledo Club is an absolutely beautiful building and the classic style made it a breathtaking setting for our wedding ceremony and reception. Everything was taken care of down to each detail which allowed us to be in the moment and enjoy our day. The food was fantastic and the staff were warm and friendly. Many of our guests have told us that this was one of the best weddings they have been to! I could not recommend more highly!

We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding!! The Toledo Club is an absolutely beautiful building and the classic style made it a breathtaking setting for our wedding ceremony and reception. Everything was taken care of down to each detail which allowed us to be in the moment and enjoy our day. The food was fantastic and the staff were warm and friendly. Many of our guests have told us that this was one of the best weddings they have been to! I could not recommend more highly!

Great place! Elegant, Professional, kind and welcoming. We had our Welcome Respite get together in the Red Room which I highly recommend. There is plenty of seating and small tables for guests to relax and eat and mill around. There is a beautiful Steinway piano which you can play. The food was plentiful and delicious and there are plenty of options to choose in the packages they offer. Everyone raved about the carved turkey station. Can't say enough good things about the Toledo Club. Devon was great to work with.

Absolutely amazing wedding for my daughter and son in law, September 15th. The Toledo Club is beautiful inside! Had a coordinator change with 3 weeks till wedding day, but all in all, everything went well. Great staff, great food, perfect venue. I have no regrets on our choice for my daughter’s wedding venue. Definitely worth every cent. Would highly recommend!!

Our guests raved about what an awesome time they had, all because Theresa and staff worked very hard to make our dream wedding a reality! From the very beginning of the planning process to the end of the night, every detail was considered. At our request, Theresa even set up a wonderful wedding day lunch for myself and my bridesmaids in The Green Room. Everything was perfect, right down to the gorgeous Spring weather outside. If I could give this venue 10 stars I would!

Absolutely perfect from beginning to end. Theresa was an enormous help in planning and implementing the Irish wedding of our dreams into a reality. We have heard from many, many of our guests that this was THE BEST wedding they have ever attended, which I'm sure is in no small part due to the setting and the amazing staff. Everything went smoothly and every detail was attended to. The food was unique and superb, and the staff was absolutely top notch in every way! We would not change a single thing! I also stayed in the Bridal Suite the night before, and I loved it for the ambiance and convenience.

My daughter and son-in-law’s wedding reception took place on August 5, 2017 at The Toledo Club. They were interested in an historic venue with “old-world charm,” and The Toledo Club fulfilled this vision. The tasting experience provided by Chef Mike Goodson was outstanding, and we were able to customize the buffet that we selected with favorite items of the couple. The food, ambience, and service for our event were outstanding. Our guests offered many positive compliments about the food, service, and the beauty of the club, and several commented that The Toledo Club is “a hidden jewel.”We cannot provide enough positive feedback about the catering director, Theresa Carroll. She was extremely professional, and worked closely with us throughout the entire planning process to achieve the vision that my daughter and son-in-law had for their special day. She also personally handled all of the details on the day of the reception so that we could enjoy the celebration. I definitely recommend The Toledo Club for a wedding reception or any other special celebration.

We just had a July wedding 2017 at The Toledo Club. The coordinator was above and beyond accommodating and the food was spectacular. They incorporated special requests from both families to make the day perfect. The Toledo Club is a treasure and Toledo and I almost don't want to share so that I may keep it to myself or my other children's weddings ! Nancy, the banquet director was in charge and in tune with all of our needs and went above and beyond to make the event perfect. \rGreat service, had tons of compliments about the beauty of the venue itself.

I chose The Toledo Club in downtown Toledo for my wedding reception because of the history and beauty of the building and their reputation for good food and service. The Toledo Club is also unique because there are so many different options available. We had our cocktail hour and dancing on one floor and our dinner on another. Our guests loved the setup! Nancy and her team were so helpful in accommodating our large guest list, working well with our vendors (who they are very familiar with), keeping everything on track, and providing amazing service! They don't miss a beat!

The Toledo Club is also unique because there are so many different options available. We had our cocktail hour and dancing on one floor and our dinner on another. Our guests loved the setup! Nancy and her team were so helpful in accommodating our large guest list, working well with our vendors (who they are very familiar with), keeping everything on track, and providing amazing service! They don't miss a beat!

If you're going to have your wedding in Toledo this is the most beautiful place to hold your reception. The building is simply gorgeous- very little decoration is needed on your end. The only disappointment we had was that the seating/table layouts were not we had planned months in advance. I had to spend about 2 hours fixing the problem before the start of the reception; however, with that said everything was simply perfect after that point. The rest of the night ran smooth, the food was great, servers polite, bar staff great, and plenty of room for our guests. Everything was clean, professional, and classy. AND they have rooms there that the party and out of town guests can stay in. Bride and Groom's room is free. This was great in getting ready.

The Toledo Club was absolutely a dream. The wedding planner was very helpful and took care of setting up the flowers on wedding morning, the candy and pastry table and everything! The club even tore everything down and stored it for us so we didn't have to do anything after the event was over. The staff kept asking me if I needed anything all night and were wonderful the next morning. I can't recommend this place any higher. The cost was reasonable!

I had to change my ceremony venue at the last minute and was scrambling to find something that would be affordable but still aesthetically pleasing. I also didn't want to use a church. Because our wedding was in late October, ruling out outdoor venues in northwest Ohio, that was not easy to find. We ended up having the ceremony in the Centennial room which was so beautiful in and of it itself that we saved money on decorations! We hardly needed to add anything. Things were well organized and set-up day of, a few friends that came from out of town were able to use the business center and the parlor was perfect for getting dressed. The only thing that I could say negative was that the coordinator could not be found day of for last minute questions. The rest of the staff did well in her place though. However, throughout planning she was always quick to respond.

Brian and I knew the Toledo Club was the place we wanted to get married at from the moment we walked in! Every room is absolutely breathtaking and so unique from all the others. Jenn, is an absolute love to work with. Ioved the fact that when we started asking about certain criteria, she told us that this was our day, and we could do what ever we wanted! The day was ours to have our dreams come true! That is exactly what happened! Jenn, and all the staff at the Toledo Club were so professional, yet friendly and accommodating! Brian and I knew the Toledo Club was the place we wanted to get married at from the moment we walked in! Every room is absolutely breathtaking and so unique from all the others. Jenn, is an absolute love to work with. Ioved the fact that when we started asking about certain criteria, she told us that this was our day, and we could do what ever we wanted! The day was ours to have our dreams come true! That is exactly what happened! Jenn, and all the staff at the Toledo Club were so professional, yet friendly and accommodating! We had an amazing time, all of our family and friends can not stop talking about our wonderful, wonderful wedding! The Toledo Club did an excellent job with our wedding. The wedding coordinator, Jenn, was awesome at explaining everything and did a great job setting everything up and tearing everything down. I didn't have to worry that it would be done right and she really put me at ease.\r\rAlso, the Club was a great value. The food was all top quality and reasonably priced. Our guests were all very impressed and satisfied! Additionally, the setting is gorgeous and filled with historical charms, so you can save tons of money on decorating. The only bad thing is that the Toledo Club is, well, in downtown Toledo. However, just consider that if this Club were in a different location, you'd pay 2 to 3 times the price for the exact same services!

We could not have chosen a better venue for our ceremony and reception. The Toledo Club is gorgeous, and the staff worked very hard to make the day perfect. We did not have to worry about a thing because Jenn did a great job coordinating every last detail. We had the whole club to ourselves for the day, with the cermony in the Centennial Room, cocktail hour in the Red Room, dinner in the main dining room, and dancing in the Centennial Room. We even had the bridal suite as part of our reservation, so all the bridesmaids were able to get hair done there and get ready. It was convenient, elegant, and perfect!

The Toledo Club was amazing. My wedding guest are still talking about the wedding and some said it was one of the best weddings they had been to. They were very accommodating, especially when we had to add some last minute guest. The venue as a whole was very elegant, and the service made me feel as though I was \"A\" list celebrity. The only downfall was one of our guest had left their car overnight in the parking lot and it was broken into.

It was beautiful! Every unique area was a great backdrop for photography. Every guest loved the beauty of the location. It is a member's only club so many had not been and felt special for being invited.;The staff has a high turnover rate. In the end we worked with 4 different people. They were all good but it complicated things.
