Situated next to Towpath Trail and Cascade Locks Park, this property combines natural charm and rustic elegance that will be personally crafted to your tastes. The Trailhead at Cascade Lofts was originally built in 1904 as Swinehart Tire & Rubber, and exudes a romantically retro ambiance. The building was lovingly renovated in 2015 and features a number of modern amenities that will ensure your experience is comfortable and convenient. The renovation team used re-purposed wood in their design and maximized the space for energy efficiency. This allows couples to feel good knowing they are throwing green, sustainable events. The spacious area where you can host your celebration glows with natural light that illuminates the industrial architecture and showcases the building's storied past. An outdoor garden courtyard can be used for beautiful open-air ceremonies and al fresco dining. For your cocktail hour, a modern and artistically designed bar will be at your disposal. The Trailhead at Cascade Lofts was the perfect venue for our July 2022 wedding! Our guests loved the central location and proximity to parks, restaurants, the Towpath, and our hotel (the Courtyard by Marriott Akron Downtown). It was great that they could walk everywhere and explore the area without needing to drive. The ceremony area next to the Mustill Store was beautiful and green and looked amazing in our photos, and the reception room was a great size for our ~95 person event.When we first booked the venue in 2020, our point of contact was Kaley, who was very communicative and invested in making our event a success. A few months before our wedding, there was a staff change and Meranda became the event manager. This could have made things difficult, but Kaley and Meranda worked together to make the transition very smooth. Meranda was also a pleasure to work with and was actually on site for the duration of the event, which was unexpected but appreciated!One thing we loved about the Trailhead was the on-site bridal suite. The apartment was beautiful, and Meranda allowed us to check in a little early in order to get ready in that space, which was super convenient!The only thing that caused a little confusion was that there were some policy changes during the two years between our initial booking and the wedding day that weren't communicated to us. For example, when we booked, we were told that ceremony chairs were not included in the package and that we would be responsible for renting them and arranging for set-up. This turned out not to be the case as we got closer to the event (which was a relief!). The rental fee also ended up being less than we expected - again, a pleasant surprise, but we would have liked to have been informed about these changes in advance.Overall, we loved the Trailhead and could not imagine a better spot for our wedding! We highly recommend this venue!

We celebrated our September wedding at the Trailhead and I cannot say enough great things about our experience. From booking to wedding day, Kaley was helpful, accommodating, and extremely responsive. The space is AMAZING- the decor that exists speaks for itself, so we were thrilled we didn’t have to add much more at all! The indoor/outdoor feel (in the nicer months, the garage door will be open for your party!) was exactly what we needed- guests were able to congregate both inside and outside without feeling like they were left out/missing anything! Kaley and the staff at Trailhead made sure we could still have our special day safely. The space was clean, everyone was spread out well, and they provided lots of ventilation. Beyond the COVID stuff, the event space is amazing, it was perfect for us and our special day. The suite we stayed in upstairs was amazing! Absolutely will consider them for big events in the future.

The venue is gorgeous and Kaley went above and beyond to make sure that the day went well. Her staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The bride used the bridal suite onsite which was very convenient and had plenty of space for the wedding party to get ready. I highly recommend this venue!

It breaks both my wife’s and I hearts that we had such a disappointing experience here since we both wanted to support trailhead and the vision of using and supporting local venders. It also breaks our hearts because this venue has such wonderful reviews and it seems our experience was an isolated experience. We tried to reach out to trailhead first with our complaints, it’s been two weeks and they didn’t even have the courtesy to write us back or even acknowledge that they received our message. I’ll start with the positive, the venue is beautiful, I’ll give it that. Unfortunately that’s about it for the positive. Here are our concerns/complaints:First, they violated many aspects of our contract. It was stated in the contract that they’d set up tables, chairs, and linens. They did set up the tables and chairs however they missed a few which caused us to have to find more tables since they (the staff) didn’t help. They also didn’t set up the linens. While I was getting ready, I had to go down to the venue to help set up and gather family to assist. This all happened when the staff was just on their phones. We were told they’d help tear down and would put all of our things at the front of the facility to gather either that night or in the morning. That also didn’t happen. We had to tear down and they told us we had to remove everything that night because no one would be there in the morning......so when my wife and I should have been enjoying our wedding night we were there tearing down. Our family eventually sent us to the bridal suite but when they were loading everything up, this lady looked at them, locked the doors at 11 and walked away without even asking if they were done. What makes this worse is per our contract, we had the venue until 12. Speaking of staff, our experience with them during the event was horrible. Throughout the planning process, our main contact was Kaley. She was wonderful to deal with. We were under the impression that she would be there the day of the wedding, but she was not and we were not told this ahead of time. Instead we had Meranda who was nice enough, I’ll give her that, but the rest of the staff...RUDE. They we rude and short with everyone. There were many times when the staff would disappear from the bar. We had 150+ guest (some underage) and they’d just leave the bar. My wife had to wait for a drink multiple times....on her wedding night. Last but not least, we rented both the bride and groom suites above the venue. The bridal suite was fine and exactly the one they showed us. The grooms suite however was not. We were shown a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite and were told that would be the one we’d get. Much to my surprise when we checked in, we were shown to a one bath studio. This proved rather difficult since most of my party was staying with me. In the end, all of this probably doesn’t matter, but it does to me. My wife and I have gone through hell the past few years, my wife saved my life by donating a kidney to me, and what helped us get through all of this? Looking forward to that reception and knowing that we could celebrate life and our wedding with our family and friends. My wife deserved to have everything she wanted and to be treated with respect. I could not care less if the staff treated me like shit, but not my wife. She did NOTHING to deserve that.In the end, we are married and that’s all that matters.

I had my wedding here this past weekend and all I can say is WOW. Kaley, the on site coordinator, made my absolute dreams come true. The venue was absolutely perfect, the bartenders were amazing, everyone was beyond thrilled. A HUGE perk about this venue is there is a bridal AND groom suit. They are decorated top to bottom to make for the cutest pictures. I cannot thank everyone at trailhead enough. My wedding was everything I could’ve ever dreamed of.

I was planning a beach wedding in NC but unfortunately, the Hurricane canceled our plans. We got lucky with Trailhead and were able to plan a perfect wedding here in just THREE days. Kaley was amazing and so helpful. The venue was beautiful and the staff was great. The grooms suite was perfect for both the boys and girls to get ready in, plenty of space. Kaley was present all day to make sure that everything went smoothly which was so helpful especially since we had two ceremonies and two cocktail hours. Our wedding was perfect here.

I highly recommended looking into the Trailhead to see if the space meet your needs for your event. We held our wedding reception at The Trailhead. We can't emphasize enough how much we enjoyed working with Kaley. After our initial tour of the venue and communication with Kaley we knew this was the place we wanted to share with our family and friends for our wedding reception. The staff managing and running the event space were kind and helpful. I also recommend checking out the additional rental of the bridal suite apartment. I loved having family and friends together as I got ready. It is conveniently located right above the venue. As far as locations for pictures, you will not need to travel far! The grounds around venue are endless, as well as the options inside are prefect for the unpredictable Ohio weather!

The venue is beautiful but that’s where it ends for me. They put up a sign that said lot full for parking and then charged $5 for the valet to take the car to that very same lot. I don’t think wedding guests should be charged to park. The greeter at the door was just staring at the parking lot. I had my hands full coming in and I had to knock to get him to open the door. The food was cold and they ran out of butter before everyone was served. The food table was not very attractive. It definitely need some dressing up. The appetizers of cheese, meat, fruit and crackers were all heaped together on a platter. You couldn’t even really see what was there. Our table was right by the kitchen door and we could not hear the toasts over the kitchen help talking loudly even after we told them and asked them to quiet down. The sound system was not very good. I would not recommend this venue.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! We had the BEST experience at the Trailhead for our wedding reception earlier this month. Kaley was so amazing - she was prompt at replying to emails and she was very accommodating. The space at The Trailhead is so beautiful and elegant. The moment we walked in to tour it, we fell in love instantly, and were blown away by how perfectly everything turned out. I would recommend this venue, and Kaley to anyone and everyone! We had nothing but positive experiences!! Thank you Kaley and The Trailhead team for making our experience so good! You went above and beyond and we are forever grateful!! It turned out better than we expected!!!!!

Kaley was so amazing - she was prompt at replying to emails and she was very accommodating. The space at The Trailhead is so beautiful and elegant. The moment we walked in to tour it, we fell in love instantly, and were blown away by how perfectly everything turned out. I would recommend this venue, and Kaley to anyone and everyone! We had nothing but positive experiences!! Thank you Kaley and The Trailhead team for making our experience so good! You went above and beyond and we are forever grateful!!
