The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge Reviews

I am so glad we chose this venue! Truly the best day of my life. We haven’t gotten many pictures back, as we just got married, but I had to come on here and rave about how wonderful everything is at Chapel Lodge. I love that you have an option to rent out and stay at the venue, my dad and mom’s family stayed at the lodge and cabin, it was so convenient and accommodating to all of their needs! Jaycie is a sales rep at the venue, we loved her from the very beginning, she’s one of the reasons we chose this venue! We actually hired her as our planner too, again another wonderful decision! The whole day was seriously perfect! She went above and beyond and we cannot thank her enough for all she did for us! The venue is so beautiful it really doesn’t need a whole lot of flowers etc in my opinion; we had about 400 candles and it was so romantic! There are so many different spaces to utilize, if you haven’t been out here I highly recommend you get out there and check it out! If you’re looking to have the perfect wedding/party/stay etc.. look no further!Ps if you are looking at any of the previous reviews about food or bar, chapel lodge is only a venue, whoever hosted the party hired those people so this venue should not be to blame if you were not satisfied. The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge is absolutely stunning. When we first drove up I was taken aback by the beauty and knew we had to get married there. It was exactly what I wanted: open space, romantic, greenery backgrounds, European vibe, amongst many other things. While I am happy with our wedding day, I will say that there were a few bumps in the road that I was not pleased with. A few days before the wedding, my husband and I had been contacted regarding COI information from vendors (that was supposed to be collected 30 days prior by the venue). In addition, there were multiple things that VCL had told us was acceptable (even in front of my coordinator) but then were denied later. Thankfully, my DOC was able to mitigate everything and ensure that things went smoothly. My only recommendation to couples looking to get married at VCL is to make sure you get everything in writing or else you’ll be left scrambling a few days prior. All in all, The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge is a beautiful venue but their staff needs some work. Reviewed on 17-12-2023

We chose to have our wedding at this venue not just because of the beautiful property but also due to the warm welcome we received from the very start when we were touring the venue. Jaycie was such a pleasure to work with and who always went the extra mile. From the beginning, Jaycie genuinely makes you feel like your wedding will be special and stand out from other weddings she has helped plan. Jaycie knew many of the vendors we used and communicated with them, she gave us great ideas on additional considerations for the wedding and always had an ability to quell any stress we had from general wedding planning. There is nothing that she can not do! Jaycie was simply the best and we highly recommend her as both a venue and wedding coordinator!Just 20 minutes south of downtown Austin, the outdoor space of the venue features massive oak trees that sets up a beautiful natural backdrop for the ceremony space. With the 50 acre property having a vineyard, expansive fields and a pond, it offers many opportunities for capturing memorable photos, especially during golden hour. The wedding flowed seamlessly from the ceremony under the oak trees to the cocktail hour in the courtyard to the dinner and reception in the indoor/outdoor tent. For any last-minute wedding needs, there are grocery and liquor stores, restaurants as well as after hour bar locations nearby. We highly recommend this venue for your wedding. Reviewed on 26-10-2023

We had our wedding at The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge, and it was a smooth, beautiful, well-run and incredibly memorable event. Venue: Gorgeous outdoor venue with a peaceful setting for the ceremony and so many wonderful places to take stunning photos. There are the vineyards themselves, a pond with a fountain, the ceremony setting and the main house which has a Mediterranean feeling. Contract discussions: There were some points of negotiation in the contract. Chappel Lodge was flexible to meet some of our requests and, if they did not, they were transparent about their rationale for a particular requirement or clause.Vendor flexibility: Chappel Lodge allows couples to find their own vendors, with approval from the property, which opens up a very broad set of vendors.Planning: Catherine was our day-of event coordinator that is part of the package of working with Chappel Lodge (you have to have your own as well), and she provided valuable and practical guidance throughout the process. She is clearly very experienced and could give us guidance for every step of our day. Overall we highly recommend hosting your wedding here! Reviewed on 13-06-2023

Katelyn Maloy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-11-2021 Everyone says your wedding day is the most magical day- and they are not wrong! At the Vineyards at Chappell Lodge, amongst family, friends, large oak trees and a few deer, my husband and I became THE FISHERS.My number one priority was to have a place that allowed for beauty, ambiance, fluidity, and good vibes. We had so many out of town guests that we needed somewhere that was close to DT Austin (25 minutes) and allowed us to have the ceremony and reception in one place. Trust me, the ease of having your guests walk straight to the cocktail hour without having extra transport is both smart and practical. Each space (vineyards, oaks trees, courtyard, pond, villa, and tent) offered picturesque scenery, which resulted in the most amazing photos for us and our guests! Additionally, very little decor was needed since the space was designed with elegance and Mediterranean aesthetics.I also need to mention the bridal suite and groom's den- Each was spacious with all the sinks, mirrors, hanging and floor space you could ever need. Throughout the night our wedding party could pop in to change their shoes, use the restroom, etc., and be back to the party within minutes. Our dance floor was bumping for the entire wedding and with the flow of the venue, guests were able to feel that they were in the action even when taking a break or getting a drink.Lastly, Krista and all at the VCL were fantastic to work with! I met with Krista in May of 2020 when all things Covid related were up in the air. She made me feel at ease and confident that the day would be everything I wanted. I did several visits to the venue and felt that every step of the way I had guidance and support. The whole venue just smells like flowers and gives you such a special feeling. My girl crew and I even rented the on site cabin the night before to stay in after our rehearsal dinner and got ready there the next morning until we went over to the venue!! SO fun! McKensey Catterton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-05-2020 As with many Spring 2020 weddings, our wedding unfortunately had to be postponed. Our original venue didn't have any openings until July 2021 and we were lost at what to do. We began our search for a new venue and found The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge. How we missed them in our original search we don't know but we couldn't be happier we finally found them. We decided to move our wedding to the Vineyards at Chappel Lodge in May 2021. When we told Krista we were still planning on getting legally married somewhere in Austin on our original date she offered the option to get legally married at the venue. After facing so many roadblocks we finally felt like we'd be handed some positive information. Krista set up a lounging area for our immediate family and put out chairs for our little ceremony. The day couldn't have been more perfect and the venue is so fitting for us. Krista's kindness and willingness to help us during these odd times was so refreshing. Greg and I are already thinking about how we can make our 2021 ceremony there even more special and even though we were bummed we couldn't have our big wedding this May we are so fortunate to have found this amazing venue. If you're looking for a venue that provides beautiful scenery, and amazing people to work with, the The Vineyards at Chapel Lodge is your place :) Reviewed on 17-05-2020

We got married in February, so we didn't benefit from the vineyards themselves or the flower fields, but everything was still beautiful and green and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. All our favorite vendors had worked the venue before, so logistics and coordination was a piece of cake, and the staff at VCL were totally on the ball, and super accommodating. There was plenty of space for out 120 ish guest wedding, and the rooms for the bride and groom were great. Jill Anderson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-03-2020 Loved our Vineyards at Chappel Lodge Wedding! We are SO happy we booked VACL and additionally happy we invested in Catherine to be our day of coordinator!VACL was definitely the best bang for our buck! So many venues in Austin 'price gouge' their couples by charging ridiculous fees for specific items and are not up front. We chose VACL for a few reasons:1. It's GORGEOUS! They have beautiful overgrown trees and the ceremony site with the gorgeous stone aisle is breathtaking. We loved the outside grounds and the fun cocktail hour that then flows into the reception tent. We had the most gorgeous day for weather so it felt worth the investment and risk for this outside venue.2. VACL allows you to bring your own alcohol on site. We were able to have Specs deliver all the booze we needed (and were able to return it at just a 10% restock fee). Other venues do not allow this - which for a wedding of our size (200 people) and charging per person per hour gets REALLY expensive! Additionally we were able to have the bridal party get ready onsite and enjoy champagne and whiskey while we were getting ready - no issues. A few other venues had strict rules about \"no offsite alcohol!\" with signs all over the bridal suite which I thought was silly.3. People were worried about the train but this wasn't an issue for us and even if a train comes through WHO CARES - it will be another memorable moment and if you know it's a possibility you can have the sound ready to play some fun tunes.4. CATHERINE! She was absolutely amazing and may our day flow perfectly. I've been in a LOT of weddings (over 10 as a bridesmaid) and worked with many coordinators and she is the best. She is direct, but pleasant, informative but willing to listen. Too often I've seen details go missed and that just won't happen with Catherine!5. The capacity - this venue was perfect for our 200 guests - we were able to sit everyone at the chairs at the ceremony (chairs and tables included in the venue! another huge plus!) and we fit perfectly under the tent!6. The location! A lot of locations like this are far from Austin making the logistics a nightmare for out of town guests. We had all our guests stay at the Omni Hotel Southpark and then provided shuttles to and from the venue - just a quick 15 minute ride. Then they had access to downtown Austin and were able to enjoy our wedding and still have access to Austin. Other venues are so remote it leaves guests stuck in places that aren't ideal.VACL was a great choice for us!!! Reviewed on 21-03-2020

Absolutely everything was incredible!Firstly we had the awful task of locating a venue for the month December. After looking at dozens of venues online we came across this beautiful venue. We called first to make sure they had availability with our December 7th wedding date. The pictures looked incredible, and it looked like such a beautiful location. We both fell in love with the look and the feel of the venue driving up for our onsite meeting. It was so surreal. The beautiful oak trees, pond, deer and facilities were absolutely beautiful. When we called to make a onsite interview Jaycee and Catherine were so lovely. They made arrangements for us to view the venue and explained the different areas. Jaycee took us through a general run through of what most couples do on their day but let us know they were very open to any creative ideas we had to make things a little different for our day. She really put our minds at rest and we knew that this was the venue for us. Catherine was our wedding coordinator and helped us finalize all the details for the day of. She made the wedding day run so smooth. Just a quick note to say thank you so much for all your hard work in making our wedding the best day of our lives. The day of went off without a hitch- sweet Catherine felt like my cheerleader the whole weekend and we had the pleasure of also working with Jaycie in the beginning- they were both so helpful, kind, and listened to all my requests/questions. The venue is jaw dropping. The tent they've added with the dimming lights MADE the wedding. It was so fun to work with a tent that was already included and really make it my own. We had a reception of just over 200 and it was the perfect amount of space- no issues with crowding. We had 2 bars and did food family style, which I think helped a lot with crowd control. Catherine was our coordinator - an absolute delight in handling vendors, being there for you on the day of and the evening of the wedding. We will recommend her, vouch for her, and sing praises to her to anyone who would listen. These two ladies made sure our weekend went as smooth as possible, and without their positivity and \"can do\" attitude we wouldn't have made it. Now onto the venue itself. We got married at the end of Sept. The weather did end up cooperating with us, but even if it didn't, there was a super plan B that we worked on with Catherine. The sprawling grounds of Vineyards at Chappell Lodge are stunning. Most of the guests who flew in from NY and SF were smitten with the lavish trees, the pond, and nature all around. It's quite an oasis in the city (and surrounding neighborhood), and driving up to it, you'd never fathom just how beautiful (and large) the space is. We ended up renting the cabin and the venue rooms for our family and long distance vendors. They loved the proximity to us, and the care we took, to make them feel comfortable. The venue also allows you to extend the wedding until midnight (when most of the inside Austin venues cap you at 10 PM). This was cherry on top of the cake. The stunning venue, outstanding staff - definitely recommend to future brides/grooms. Thank you for making our weekend so special. You are an A+ team!Olga & Keith. Reviewed on 10-10-2018

I received so many compliments about the venue and I was able to save money on my decor because it just isn't needed. Both Jaycie and Catherine were lifesavers, always available for the MILLIONS of questions we had. They never made us feel like an inconvenience, which is oddly what I experienced with a lot of my other wedding vendors. CC Coyle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-04-2018 You would never guess this venue is hiding in the middle of Austin. When you go through the front gates of the property there are rolling green hills and oak trees. In the spring these are covered with beautiful fields of wildflowers. The ceremony site is under beautiful trees with a wildflower field behind is a dream... we are so happy we chose it for our April wedding. As an outdoor venue there can be concerns about weather, but the venue has since put up a very nice tent structure on the reception patio. It looked great as a backup in case of rain, but luckily we did not need to use it. Not only that, but the venue is also in a convenient location close to lots of lodging options and other things to do for wedding guests! From the day we booked the venue we worked with Catherine, and also hired her to be onsite coordinator for the day of... best decision ever. She answered our millions of questions patiently and also honestly giving straight forward advice which ultimately helped our wedding day have a great flow to it! I would definitely recommend her. On the day of the wedding she problem-solved flawlessly and I didn't learn of any issues until after the fact which is a blessing as a bride. She also went above and beyond. For example, a surprise cold front came through and Catherine went out and bought a TON of blankets that matched our color theme for our guests without even being prompted! She also set up a small dining space in the bridal lounge so my husband and I could eat before the reception. When she noticed people were coming in during our private meal she helped usher them away in a very graceful polite way so we could have a moment of peace before the reception. That was a special moment for us and a blessing in retrospect! :) Great venue, great staff. I highly recommend it :) Reviewed on 14-05-2018

Jenna Ross(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-03-2018 After touring multiple venues, this one was the only one that I knew right away it was exactly what I was looking for. Jaycie the event coordinator, was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She and I hit it off immediately. Jaycie has such an inviting and warm personality. She was happy to answer any questions I had throughout our wedding planning process. As my wedding approached on March 3rd, Jaycie worked even harder to get a beautiful tent ordered to cover the stone patio, as that would have been our only bad weather backup. I had planned for our entire wedding to be outside as the venue is absolutely breathtaking and we love nautre. I grew up in the hill country, and wanted something that represented that special place in my heart. Who would've known that if you were to drive a mile or so south down manchaca past slaughter, and find this incredibly beautiful piece of land! A true hidden gem. Jaycie came through with this beautiful tent as well as many other details, and I am so incredibly grateful that she did as it was raining during our wedding day. My mom and a few of our closest friends stayed at the venue the night before our wedding, and my husband and I stayed in the bridal suite the night of our wedding. These also wouldn't have been possible without Jaycie. The stay at the venue truly added to our incredible weekend, and you would truly miss out on your magical experience if you didn't do the same. Thank you so much Jaycie for everything that you did!I hired Catherine, the venue's coordinator, as my day of coordinator. She took over everything a month out from my wedding, and was available for any questions that I had prior. I did lot's of research before going with Catherine, and not only did I find that I was receiving the best deal out of any one else that I contacted, but WOW, Catherine is THE BEST. I can't even put into words how incredible Catherine was. She was so thorough with every small detail of the wedding day and rehearsal. We met a few weeks prior to wedding and worked out every minute and minor detail of the day. She made me feel so confident that our wedding day was going to be executed exactly the way the we had dreamed it would be, and also addressed details that we hadn't quite thought about. During our rehearsal, she was on top of every single detail. The day of the wedding, I don't even know where to begin. She handled all of our vendors, the setup, and everything that I had dreamed would happened, happened. I was able to relax that day, and not worry about anything outside of getting myself ready, and enjoying my friends and family. It rained and I had a moment of sadness as I had always imagined a beautiful wedding outside. Catherine flipped the covered patio that had already been set up for dinner, and made it into a beautiful ceremony site. It had every small detail like rose pedals down the isle, to additions, such as beautiful candles at the bottle of the arch that she had moved under the tent because she knew it would add warmth to the ceremony site. She knew the floral wedding arch would be the finishing touch and was very important to me, and made moving it happen. The wedding night was amazing, and any minor hiccup that occurred, I was not aware of as she handled it beautifully. As I said before, I cannot thank Catherine enough for making our dream wedding come true, even with circumstances that were not ideal. She made a rainy wedding day into one that was intimate and beautiful. Reviewed on 18-03-2018

Just south of Moontower Saloon, the venue looks like hill country, dripping springs, or driftwood but in reality, is only 15-25 minutes south of downtown. Our wedding was three days ago, and we are still in awe of how beautiful everything looked on our special day. We DIY'd our entire Wedding and this venue made our projects look absolutely stunning. The gorgeous oak trees were exactly what my Austin born and raised Fiance (now Husband) wanted for the ceremony. The vines, the glowing hayfield behind the ceremony at sunset, and the beautiful oak trees created an romantic, yet casual, and elegant backdrop! Our guests loved all the spaces in the venue, they were able to explore little areas and really utilize the full space. Aside from the breathtaking surrounding grounds, the hacienda style house and outdoor patios are just beautiful! From the speakers in the trees, to the bridal suite, to being able to rent the venue overnight to load-out in morning, and have our guests stay overnight, it was all so perfect. As a couple who loves the outdoors and the rural charm of Texas in the spring, it was important to both my husband and I that our wedding be outside, under some oak trees and Texas starry skies. We toured a lot of local venues and nothing fit the bill quite as perfectly as VCL. It's a gorgeous, tucked away piece of property that is very well-maintained and manicured. It served as the perfect backdrop to our May 2015 wedding. Reviewed on 26-10-2015

This venue is absolutely STUNNING and so UNIQUE. From the gorgeous mosaic tile work to the fire pits and bridal suite, every bit of this venue is breathtaking. Go take a tour! You won't regret it!\r\rCatherine, the Events Coordinator, was SO helpful and prompt in returning our many phone calls. All of her recommendations were spot-on and very valuable. The other fantastic thing about this venue is that you have the option of using your own catering, bartenders, and alcohol. And lastly, the Month of Coordination fee is the cheapest I have seen for such a wonderful service. Can't say enough great things about this venue! Reviewed on 14-01-2015
Samantha Piper(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-11-2014 When we first found this venue, I read several not so positive reviews online but we fell in love with it at first site as we drove in and passed deer. I think that many of the reviews were written when the venue was new and still figuring itself out and before the amazing Catherine Haffner joined the team. I was planning my Austin wedding from Houston, which was tricky but Catherine was so wonderful. I was always able to get in touch with her, she made fantastic recommendations, guided us through the process and was always calm, organized and on top of everything. We loved her! Unfortunately a cold front came through bringing rain and 50 degree temps, which to my disappointment made us go with plan B, but the day went beautifully and Catherine was so helpful and helped us stick to a timeline and organized all of my vendors flawlessly. The venue worked wonderfully and the wedding parties and our families loved being able to stay on site. The decor, grounds and layout worked so well. I would not change a thing (other than the weather) about my wedding day and I am so happy I found this venue and Catherine. Reviewed on 12-12-2014
Sandra Rasberry(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2014 Ever since I was little, I always wanted to get married outside. There's something so romantic about light and trees and nature... And since I'm a hopeless romantic, the outdoors was the perfect fit for me. I also wanted a place where I could hold both the ceremony and the reception, so that people could travel to just one location and the flow of the wedding would not be interrupted. The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge gave me all of these things, plus more. The grounds are gorgeous, the reception patio is rustic yet classy, and the best part: you feel like you're in Hill Country without driving out to Hill Country. (You're in South Austin close to a major street, but there is light and trees EVERYWHERE and it feels like you are in Dripping Springs!) I will admit, I was nervous at first about the entire wedding taking place outside since you never know what Texas weather will do, but our overcast wedding felt amazing and looked gorgeous in pictures! On top of that, the staff is wonderful. Kristy and Catherine got to witness a bridal meltdown (courtesy of me and my stress) when I signed my contract, and were beyond supportive, counseling me and handing me tissues the whole time. And Catherine.. HIRE HER. Her day-of-coordinating is worth every penny (and it's at a great price anyways) and she knows exactly what she's doing. In our planning meetings (first one held a month before the wedding, second one a week or so before) she asked me questions and made me think of details I would have completely forgotten otherwise. I had almost no worries the day of, thanks to her, as she kept everyone in check and everything running smoothly. So my advice: go take a tour of the venue. The pictures online don't even do it justice; I promise you will fall in love. I am so glad to have such a beautiful background for the memories of the day I got to marry my best friend, and will always hold The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge very near and dear to my heart! The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge is an absolutely beautiful venue! I got married there last weekend (10/18) and my guests continue to rave about how beautiful the space was. I fell in love with the venue immediately the first time I saw it and knew I had to get married there. What also sold me was the beautiful lodging that is available! My bridesmaids and I stayed there on Friday and Saturday night, and the groomsmen rented the cabin! It was so nice to have all of our wedding party so close and not have to worry about traveling before or after the wedding. And that bridal suite is amazing!\r\rI booked the venue almost a year before the wedding and spoke with Kristy numerous times throughout the year, always with a prompt response. But what really stood out to me was the help Chappel Lodge gave me in the last days before the wedding : I rented a tent from WHIM that was installed the Thursday before my Saturday wedding, however Kristy from the venue knew it would not meet my expectations - the barrels holding the tent were awful, the lighting was poor, and it overall looked cheap. Kristy stepped up and called my day of coordinator to make her aware, but more importantly she called WHIM and said they needed to come out and fix it. She had the highest expectations and even called other rental companies to come out to beautiful the space! I felt so grateful for her and knew that was truly above and beyond her duties! So thank you, Kristy!\r\rFinally, Catherine was the person on duty the night of my wedding and she was so helpful! I saw her running around making sure everything was perfect and even checking on me to ask if I needed anything. She even helped serve the cake! I did not have a single worry the night of my wedding and I have the Chappel Lodge staff to thank for that. (I should also note the cleaning and set up crew were so sweet to me and even congratulated me throughout the day while getting ready!)\r\rI highly recommend Chappel Lodge for a wedding - I can testify that my guests have said my wedding was one of the most beautiful they had ever been to and I know that's mostly because of the great October weather and the gorgeous venue :)\r Reviewed on 22-10-2014

Everything about the beauty of this venue is true. It is absolutely gorgeous and the moment I toured the facility, I wanted to get married there. I put down the deposit to the save the date. A few days later, I went back to the facility to show my parents. At that time, for the first time, they told me that I was not going to be able to bring my own alcohol and I would have to go through them. The cheapest price for alcohol was $26/person (for beer and wine). I am expecting about 175 guests, so this added at least $4,500 to our budget. When I told them that they explicitly told me that we could bring our own alcohol on our first viewing, they told me that they did tell me of this new policy and would not admit to misinforming me. They would not negotiate on the policy or the price of the alcohol packages. This new alcohol policy, stating on January 1, 2015, will be on top of the 15% required gratuity, the required police officer fees, required day of insurance, and required day of coordinator. \r\rWhile the venue is absolutely stunning, this new alcohol policy will make this venue out of the price point of many brides. \r\r$6,000 for venue\r$900 mandatory gratuity \r$750 for day of coordinator (Catherine of VLC), you may get your own.\r------------------------------\r$7,650 for venue fees only\r\rI was very much okay with spending this money, even though it was more than comparable venues. However, the alcohol policy now adds thousands of dollars. In my case, $4,500 of extra costs that I was not told about. \r\rMy main complaint is that they misinformed me about the policy, would not admit that they did so, and then would not work with me to correct this mistake. However, I did get my deposit back. \r\rI post this only to warn people of the new policy change so they are not heartbroken when their dream venue falls through due to policies (and additional budget considerations) they were not informed of beforehand. \r\r\r\r\r\r Reviewed on 07-10-2014
Anne Weaver(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-06-2014 My husband and I searched all of the hill country to find this beautiful location. We are both from NC and wanted to find a place with big beautiful oaks and/or a manicured English garden that reminded us of home. We stepped out of the car to see the ceremony spot shaded in a canopy of oaks with Carolina on My Mind playing in the background. There were roses and flowers and a pretty vineyard surrounding the stone lodge. Not quite an English garden but it was perfect. \r\rPros: \r1. Everyone loved our June wedding. It was beautiful with plenty of room for getting ready ahead of time with a full bridal and grooms suites. \r2. Vendors could arrive ahead of us to set up. \r3. Best thing we did at our wedding: We stayed with the whole bridal party in the nearby cabin onsite the night before the wedding and the price is a steal. We had friends in from all over the country and even from England so we wanted to spend as much time with them and not traveling from place to place. We were able to spend all evening after the rehearsal dinner and all morning before we could get on site to set up relaxing with our friends. Absolutely priceless.\r3. There is a lot of indoor space so in case of inclement weather (rain or heat) you have a plan B or at least some A/C seating for older family members, pregnant friends, etc.\r4. Kristy the on site coordinator gave me her cell the day before and day of the wedding so I could contact her with anything I needed. This was immensely helpful!\r5. The field behind the ceremony spot is often filled with flowers in the spring but is certainly gone by May. It rained hard the two weeks prior to the wedding day and was full of flowers! We took so many pictures there\r\r\rCons:\r1. The contract is far too long and detailed. It is quite a hassle, which was made more difficult by the \r2. Difficulty in reaching the staff at V@CL. They were all very kind and understanding if things weren't in perfectly on time but often that was due to trouble in getting ahold of staff by phone or e-mail. If you live in town and can go in person to talk that is your best bet in getting ahold of them.\r3. Much of the furniture on site is there by rental only. Ask about which pieces are included. We didn't realize until the week of the wedding that a lot of our indoor seating for guests (a few chairs, a sofa here and there) who may want to come in for some A/C was not included in the price. As far as I can tell, everyone was comfortable without those things so all was well.\r4. Prices change throughout the year for certain items/services so get your agreements down in writing. The staff always honored our original agreements but it was just always stressful for me when those conversations came up.\r Reviewed on 11-07-2014
Shannon Russell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-03-2014 This place was absolutely gorgeous. Everyone at my wedding said it was the most unusual and pretty venue they had seen. It is still close to downtown, but has the feel of being out in the country. Everything is up-to-date with a beautiful bridal suite. There are many options for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. You get to make of it what you want. They have recently added another administration lady which should help with the slower response time on emails and phone calls. But they are very sweet people and are extremely flexible for what you want to do. Would 100% do it again here! :) Reviewed on 19-03-2014

Michael Bryant(groom)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-04-2013 This venue is absolutely gorgeous and, in my opinion, worth the hassle of dealing with the management. Just be prepared for a very understaffed venue, and very bloated, 42-page contract. The grounds are beautiful, wildflowers and trees everywhere, and the building is something right out of a resort brochure! Our best advice is to have a separate coordinator to deal with the venue alone. They are greatly understaffed, Kristy is the only one running things over there and I think her performance over the course of the entire experience could've been much better had she had at least one person helping her. Don't even try calling this place, it's hopeless. The only way to get in contact is via email. And understand that the staff is mostly absent the day of the wedding, meaning don't expect much help, if any, from them. That goes the same for your vendors, many of ours complained of not being able to get answers from Kristy. Also, many of our guests complained of feeling persona non grata the day of the wedding. That the staff was actually a little rude to them when asking where to park and such things. All in all, the wedding was great and mostly compliments from guests, almost all remarked on how beautiful the venue was. Just wish the staff was a little more hospitable throughout the entire planning stage and the wedding itself. Reviewed on 22-05-2013
