The Premiere Waterfront Venue on Lake Winnebago
The Waters is a stately waterfront mansion and wedding venue located in Oshkosh, WI. Lake Winnebago fringes the freshly manicured lawns of this fine destination. It was originally built in 1903 and operated as a yacht club. Over the decades, it was used in other capacities until in 2008 it was lovingly renovated and restored to its original state. The staff of seasoned professionals here provides couples with all the assistance they need throughout their wedding planning journey. It is their goal to ensure the highest quality experience that results in unforgettable nuptial memories being made. To-be-weds are guaranteed complete privacy at The Waters as the site adheres to a strict one-event-per-day policy. The Nantucket-inspired screened porch and the second-floor balcony provide a perfect opportunity for pre-event photographs. Views over the lake are guaranteed to look perfect in any photo album. Outdoor ceremonies are held out on the lawn. Receptions take place in the Grand Ballroom, an event space large enough to accommodate 200 people during a seated dinner. Overall, the venue is big enough to welcome 300 guests, ideal for both intimate and extravagant gatherings. The Waters’ staff understands that the occasion is all about the experience, and offers various services to enhance every aspect of the event. Couples are provided with a selection of high-quality recommended vendors as well as five top-class catering outfits. When the big day finally arrives, the nearly-weds can look forward to the convenient help of the dedicated event staff. These experts lend their hand in providing setup and cleanup services. At the end of the night, the newlywed couple can take off into their new chapter knowing everything is being taken care of.

The staff worked so hard and helped us out when we had last minute questions or concerns and all of them were accommodating. I could not imagine our wedding being anywhere else! We had our ceremony and reception at The Waters. The day went perfectly, and Elaina, their events manager, made planning so, so easy. She worked closely with our vendors to make sure our day went on without any issues! The venue is absolutely beautiful, and there was something for everyone with space and seating outside, seating in the bar and reception areas, and plenty of space to dance! And Lake Winnebago made the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and all of our pictures. Elaina made all of our signage, which was 1000% worth it. They all turned out amazing, and it was one less thing we had to do. 100/10 recommend The Waters. I couldn’t imagine our wedding being anywhere else!

We had our wedding at The Waters on 1/14/23, and could not have been happier. Kate, Josh, and the bartenders (I am sorry for missing names), were so easy to work with. Because of their hard work, we had no issues on wedding day, everything looked and flowed beautifully. Outstanding communication, beautiful venue, and even better people working there. I would strongly recommend anyone use this location for any get together, wedding, etc.!

The Waters was the only wedding venue that my husband and I toured because we simply felt at home the moment we walked the grounds. Being right on the lake was our ideal venue, plus the option to have the ceremony either indoors or outdoors based on the weather came in handy on our big day! The team at The Waters was so kind to work with, was very responsive to our many questions and changes in decisions, and provided excellent service to us on our big day. We cannot recommend The Waters enough for a wedding venue, you won't be disappointed!

The Waters was amazing for our wedding! My husband and I got married there in July this year. The Waters is your one stop shop. Our guests were able to come to just one beautiful place for our celebration! We had our ceremony outside and had a wonderful reception inside. And having Lake Winnebago as a backdrop for your wedding is to die for! Lindsey was so helpful with all the questions that I had throughout the planning process. She has lots of great advice if you have any questions! Ryan was there for the day of the wedding and he was really great with day of communication, and he helped make things run smoothly.

As soon as we saw The Waters we knew this was where we wanted to have our Wedding Reception; it aligned perfectly with our \"wish list\"...on the water; a large enough capacity; historic, classy, and well-maintained building, etc. Lindsey and Kate were a pleasure, always very responsive to our questions and providing explanations in detail. Our wedding was originally scheduled for June 2020, due to the pandemic, we decided to postpone until August 2021; Lindsey and Kate were extremely accommodating in allowing us to \"first pick\" a rescheduled date and transferring the contract terms, etc. The Waters has a list of preferred vendors which made selecting a caterer and florist easier. When one of the other vendors I reached out to was unresponsive, Lindsey recommended a much better alternative - it took our reception to another level! The Waters is so fortunate to have Lindsey at the helm, she is all you could hope for in an Event Manager.The day itself was lovely and our guests enjoy every aspect of the grounds and building - lawn games, strolls along the lake, fun times at the bar (great drinks, too!), gorgeous views from the balconies and patios, an elegant plated dinner, a beautiful sunset, and dancing until the last. I highly recommend The Waters in every way!

I am so happy we decided to have our ceremony and reception at The Waters. Not only is it a beautiful venue, the staff is so easy to work with. They were very prompt with their responses whenever I had any questions and they were such a big help on the actual wedding day, too. The venue is so beautiful itself that there wasn't much decorating needed as well. I also heard so many compliments from the guests about how beautiful the venue was. If you are looking to get married in the area, I 10/10 recommend The Waters!

I am so happy we decided to have our ceremony and reception at The Waters. Not only is it a beautiful venue, the staff is so easy to work with. They were very prompt with their responses whenever I had any questions and they were such a big help on the actual wedding day, too. The venue is so beautiful itself that there wasn't much decorating needed as well. I also heard so many compliments from the guests about how beautiful the venue was. If you are looking to get married in the area, I 10/10 recommend The Waters!

The Waters is the only venue my husband and I toured for our September 2018 wedding because the second we walked in we fell completely in love! We knew it would be the perfect place for our ceremony and reception. The building and surrounding area have so many unique charms, which partially made up for some of the inconveniences we ran into while planning our wedding with them. We felt like every time we contacted them about our wedding, whether via email or phone, they were slow to respond and we weren't sure who we would be talking to. They often didn't know who we were or had to try to touch base with someone else to get us an answer. This was frustrating at times when trying to plan our wedding and needing to figure out answers for the other vendors. It was frustrating to us when we arrived for our scheduled walk through prior to our wedding day to find the front door locked. When we finally got a hold of someone, they had to call someone else in to meet us. When she arrived she was confused why we were at the venue that day even though we had an appointment. For how much we paid for one (partial) day of use, we were surprised how much was not included and how much we felt like we were just money to them. Everything is extra when using this venue - having a ceremony on site, only 5 hours are included in the building rental so you have to pay for additional time, buying alcohol by the barrel in advance, there is an additional cost to use a tv or microphone from the venue, you pay more for caterers if they aren't on the preferred caterer list...We were disappointed by the service we received, especially considering how much we paid for our event. However, the venue was absolutely beautiful (even on a cloudy day!) and everything went smoothly on the wedding day - except for the printed sign they made welcoming guests to our wedding where they spelled our last name wrong. We were not disappointed with our choice in venue, but we were disappointed by how difficult it was to work with the team to plan and finalize all the details for our wedding day.

The staff at was engaging, happy and very charismatic. It really lightened up the night and made things run smoothly. The venue itself is beautiful, upkept VERY well and offset in a quieter area to it seems more private to your wedding. They are so accomodating and really did such a good job at confirming things and sending reminders. The only thing I would speak somewhat negatively on is that sometimes it is hard to get through to them if you call/email them due to the fact that they’re always busy. But once you get ahold of them, things are taken care of on the spot!

My husband and I had our wedding here on 3.24.18 . Being in Wisconsin we needed an indoor venue for both ceremony and reception. This was OUR PLACE! The charm and beauty of this building is breathtaking! The second we entered the venue we knew this was the place! Kim and Lindsey do a phenomenal job crossing t's and dotting i's during the planning process. I planned our whole wedding in 4 months and can say hands down they helped make this process way less stressful. They were clear with the details and easy to contact. The day of went so well and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Kim did a wonderful job the day of making sure the timeline kept rolling without a hitch! All of our guests raved about the venues character, class and location.If you are on the fence about this venue, say YES! You won't regret it. Picture perfect, fairytale wedding! The Waters will always be one of our favorite places!

Great for a winter wedding. I know this venue is famous for the lake and great outdoor ceremonies but it has so much more to offer. We recently got married there on 1/13/2018 and it was absolutely beautiful. Our theme was #comegetcozy and it started at 5PM. We rented in gold chairs had candles everywhere and got married in front of the fireplace. Insanely classy, elegant and beautiful. Also great patio to take pictures out in front of the lake and the stairs. Absolutely great pricing if your looking for something a little different and want a wedding January-March. The managers were great and answered all my emails within a day. They have a couple different catering options you can choose from we wanted family style and went with lasures. They were great, cheap and all the comfort food you could eat. Also got our cake there too and it cost $40. Great family owned place! Highly recommend giving this place a look, when i walked down the stairs to the ceremony i couldn't stop crying, beautiful!

beautiful place. very nice people. the manager and coordinator i worked with were very nice, understanding and explained everything to me. i had a lot of questions and they never hesitated to help me out. the ONLY con to this is that we were not able to come in the day of or the night before and set up or leave decorations. we only had 2 hours for everyone to set everything up which really put us in a frenzy

My husband and I recently held our wedding ceremony and reception at The Waters. We couldn't have been happier with everything! Kim and her staff went above and beyond with the planning and day of the wedding. One item was forgotten, the reserved signs for family tables. Without hesitation Kim ran downstairs and came back with some. While it is a small detail it shows Kim's willingness to help with anything. We heard all night from our guests how amazing and beautiful the venue was. We can't say thank you enough to The Waters for making our wedding amazing!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Waters, and it was absolutely perfect - everything I ever dreamed of! \rThe location is absolutely stunning on the shores of Lake Winnebago, and the building is so elegant. We were married in front of the staircase and everyone told us what a gorgeous wedding it was.\rKim, the manager, is super helpful, and very prompt to respond. I planned my wedding from out of state, and she made everything so easy! I never had any problems getting in touch with her to ask questions. \rI was also told after the event that one of my guests lost a rather precious ring, and Kim helped search the entire venue (even through the garbage!) until she found it and sent it back a few days later.\rThis place is a bit pricier, but it is well worth the cost! I wouldn't have had my wedding anywhere else!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Waters, and it was absolutely perfect - everything I ever dreamed of! \rThe location is absolutely stunning on the shores of Lake Winnebago, and the building is so elegant. We were married in front of the staircase and everyone told us what a gorgeous wedding it was.\rKim, the manager, is super helpful, and very prompt to respond. The Waters is a great place to have your wedding and reception. We did both there, and we are so glad we did. The weather was beautiful, so we could have an outdoor ceremony next to Lake Winnebago. Kim Price, the general manager, was easy to work with and very accommodating. All of our guests commented on the beauty of the nautical-themed location and crystal chandeliers from Europe. Definitely worth the price! It made decorating simple, as the beauty of the building needs little added.

My husband and I held our ceremony and reception at The Waters in Oshkosh, WI. The Waters is a beautiful place to get married if you are looking for an outdoor ceremony and an on-site reception. The venue, currently the Oshkosh yacht club, is beautiful and the wedding coordinator is very good. We didn't have to worry about a thing the whole day. Everyone said it was the most unique and beautiful wedding they had ever been to!

The Waters was absolutely beautiful, all the guests who attended could not stop talking about how beautiful our venue was and kept asking us how we ever found the place. However, the price was a lot for the area and we didn't like that we had to decorate the hall ourselves and we weren't allowed to decorate the building the night before because another wedding was taking place, therefore our parents had to decorate the venue after the ceremony before people arrived at the reception.

This place is beautiful. It speaks for itself. It made my day absolutely perfect! The service the day of the wedding was amazing. The coordinator made everything go with ease and kept things moving along. I will say up to the day of event though, the service was horrible! They never returned phone calls and were very hard to work with, but the day was amazing and made it all worth it.

The venue is beautiful, right on the water. Perfect for indoor and outdoor weddings. We held ours indoors (due to inclement weather) on the grand staircase. We are still getting compliments about The Waters months after the wedding!

The space was perfect. Second floor was used as dining room overlooking the lake and there was a large balcony to walk out onto. Downstairs there was a large bar plenty of seating and plenty of room for dancing. There was a porch and plenty of room on the lawn to enjoy as well.;You do have to rent all your own linens and dishes of your caterer does not have enough.

Elaina Brown (Manager) Hi there! I'm Elaina, the Marketing and Events Manager of The Waters. I oversee events, operations\\all things that make this venue so special. I will be the first person you hear from when inquiring about an event and will be with you throughout your planning journey. I have a deep passion for this building and my favorite part of the job is connecting with many different people and witnessing memories being made by all those who celebrate milestones at my favorite place. Fun fact, I am getting married at The Waters in 2024! I can't wait for my wedding day to come at such a beautiful venue.
