The Terrace at Tibbs Run, Hidden Gem in Morgantown
Celebrate your love with the scenic beauty and elegant simplicity that the West Virginia Botanic Garden (WVBG) has to offer. The outdoor Celebration Garden showcases the allure and privacy of the forest for you and your guests to enjoy during your ceremony under the covered pavilion. The Terrace at Tibbs Run features magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto 85 acres of stunning forests. In harmony with nature and gardens The Terrace was skillfully designed for weddings, meetings, conferences, and events that showcase the rustic beauty of West Virginia. Nestled between Morgantown and Cheat Lake, the West Virginia Botanic Garden is accessible but secluded. Everything you need is within reach. There are over a dozen hotels within a ten-mile radius, a variety of restaurants nearby, and numerous catering options. This modern and spacious venue is the perfect setting for any gathering. The Terrace is available to book April through December and features: ● Temperature controlled gorgeous brand-new building (completed August 2022!) ● Cozy fireplace which can be enjoyed inside and outside ● Flex space which can be used as a weather backup for ceremonies, dancing, and/or cocktail hour ● Two changing suites ● Separate restrooms with 4 stalls each ● Caterers’ kitchen ● Private Terrace parking lot for up to 42 vehicles (additional parking options available) ● House sound system with two 86” televisions ● Wireless microphone ● Electric shades to dim the stunning floor to ceiling view if necessary ● High speed internet The West Virginia Botanic Garden is a non-profit agency and a public garden, committed to education and the preservation of our natural resources.

We cannot say enough positive things about our experience at West Virginia Botanic Garden's Terrace at Tibbs Run. From the moment we stepped foot on the beautiful premises, we were greeted by an enchanting atmosphere and warm hospitality from the incredible person at the helm, Dana. The garden grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and the facility is somehow both rustic and modern at the same time. We knew immediately upon arrival that it was where we wanted to get married, and we couldn't wait to celebrate there with our closest family and friends.Dana was an absolute gem throughout the entire planning process, and her attention to detail, professionalism, and investment in our special day made all the difference. We felt as if she genuinely cared about our story and making the day special for us. The venue itself had everything we could have wished for and more! The Celebration Garden, with it's trees and gazebo, was magical and perfect for our ceremony, and guests raved about cocktail hour on the veranda. We were able to take beautiful pictures on the garden grounds, and our photographer was thrilled with the options available. The indoor reception area, with its wall of windows and state-of-the-art resources, was the perfect space for dinner and dancing. The kitchen area was perfect for our caterer, the changing rooms were lovely, and there was plenty of room for everything we needed and wanted!Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more, and we owe a huge \"thank you\" to Dana at the Terrace at Tibbs Run for making it a reality. We couldn't be happier with our choice, and we feel fortunate for finding it each time we look at our pictures and reminisce about our wedding day. The only thing we regret is how quickly the evening went, so book more time than you think you'll need so that you can make more memories!

This venue is absolutely beautiful, the surrounding grounds are stunning. The professionalism, communication and response time by the staff (Dana Larcenaire) was prompt and extremely helpful. Our event from start to finish was awesome! Highly recommend.

The Botanic Garden was a fantastic venue for our wedding, and the communication we had with them was seamless from start to finish. Their pricing and packages were clearly stated out and very fair. The Event Sales Manager made it very easy for us to get everything together, and she was always available for any sort of question we had. We had the option of moving our ceremony indoors if the weather were to take a turn for the worse, which my wife and I very much appreciated. Finally, I’d be a fool to not mention the breathtaking scenery of the venue. Our summer wedding seemed like it was straight out of a fairytale. We loved being so close to nature, and the setting sun on the terrace is something I will never forget. We highly recommend this venue to any couple who is looking for a beautiful venue that will make their wedding day truly unforgettable!

Best wedding venue in Morgantown. I had my wedding recently at this venue on April 30th. Perfect for a destination wedding venue. Best wedding venue in Morgantown. I had my wedding recently at this venue on April 30th. Perfect for a destination wedding venue. BEST WEDDING VENUE IN MORGANTOWN. It’s a new place and hidden diamond. Perfect set for wedding in the woods. I recently had my Indian wedding on 04/30/2023. Special thanks to Dana, she is very cooperative and worked beyond her limits. This Venue allows to get external catering services and allowed us to serve Indian food to guests.

WVBG, the Terrace is truly the dream-come-true location for anyone considering a wedding or a concert! We (Summit Chamber Music Series) present classical chamber music concerts throughout the year, and I can honestly say that the Terrace is a wonderful location for concerts in terms of acoustics, surroundings, facility. The staff there is also incredibly kind, helpful and communicative! I highly highly recommend WVGB!

WVBG, the Terrace is truly the dream-come-true location for anyone considering a wedding or a concert! We (Summit Chamber Music Series) present classical chamber music concerts throughout the year, and I can honestly say that the Terrace is a wonderful location for concerts in terms of acoustics, surroundings, facility. My wife and I held our wedding reception at the West Virginia Botanic Garden on October 10th, 2021. Being from Morgantown and having spent a lot of time at the WVBG in the past, we knew it would be a great place to hold our reception. The manager Philip, was incredibly accommodating to help us out. He opened the facility an hour earlier than originally agreed upon so that we would have enough time to do our set up (this meant he woke up at 4:00 am just to give us a little extra time). Signage was put in place to direct the flow of foot traffic prior to our event starting which gave us an extra secluded feel. We were given full use of the Education & Event Center with free reign to use it to its maximum potential. Our caterer was able to set up effortlessly and easily serve all of the guests. Luckily the weather was incredible so that we were able to open the sliding glass doors and dance on the patio outside. Perhaps we were intoxicated on the drug of matrimony, but our recollection of the event made us believe that our reception would not have been any better anywhere else. Moreover, the price made it by FAR one of the cheapest options in town. Add in all of the amenities, and it is, without question, the best value for the money spent.

Not a great venue for weddings! Phillip, the manager, was not very pleasant because we was 30 minutes late leaving. He informed me he’d be keeping our security deposit. I said not a problem and I understood. He then looked out and saw the “mess” and said I can’t “f’ing” believe this. I stayed calm and offered to clean up whatever he wanted even though we paid a cleaning fee. He then came outside and went off over a broken bottle. At this point I started giving it back. My recommendation is they change their contract not allowing alcohol at all or at least no glass bottles. Scarecrows was placed in direct view of ceremony - we asked only 2 be moved. This was thrown up in my face - sorry we didn’t pay $3,000+ for photographer and videographer to have scarecrows in them. On another note, there is absolutely no lighting to the parking areas. My recommendation would be to have events end and guest leave before dark. The father of the bride actually ran into a tree limb and hurt his ear badly because his cell phone died and he had no flashlight. We had to sweep both deck areas prior to setting up and the lawn was very high. We asked and they did mow, but this was after tent was up and tables laying under tent. While we made the venue look absolutely stunning, I feel the WVBG is not a good place for weddings, especially those serving alcohol or those with handicap/elderly guests. Phillip, I cuss, but know when not to! You dropping the F bomb was very unprofessional.
