Rich History Westbrook is one of the most historic sites in America and has been a gathering place since it was settled as Nutfield in 1719. The first white potato in North America was planted in Westbrook’s rich soils and the land was originally known as the Common Field where the Nutfield settlers gathered and harvested community crops. In the 1720s, the Gregg family built a center chimney colonial that stands today as the oldest home in Derry, New Hampshire.
