I am so happy to write a review for Laure (event coordinator) and The Westin Hotel. I had my wedding reception at The Westin last month and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! Since the first email exchange with Laure, I could tell that she was going to be very helpful. Laure was very responsive and always worked hard to answered all my questions. She continually went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered. She was an absolute delight to work with; always positive and polite. Working with Laure allowed me as the bride to relax and not worry about all the small details because I knew she had it all under control. I was so impressed with her attention to detail and ability to execute everything so wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Laure and having our wedding reception at The Westin. Most of our out-of-town guests stayed there and they all raved about the quality and pricing of the hotel. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay there, including the wedding reception. The food quality was incredible- they have an excellent chef! I highly recommend The Westin for an event space, especially since you will have the privilege to work with Laure.

Would absolutely recommend working with Laure and having a wedding at the Westin Old Town to any couple. Laure and the whole staff were welcoming and professional. During the planning process, she was extremely responsive and I appreciated her handling questions not only from me but our vendors (and my mother haha). Having the hotel handle set up and clean up, the bar, menu (you do a tasting in advance to select your appetizers and dinner), etc., was a huge benefit to getting married at the Westin. We also used several vendors that the hotel recommended and they were all great. The hotel itself is really nice – all the rooms were great and the event space is really well kept. Laure, and the whole staff, made our event weekend wonderful from when guests checked in through our brunch in the restaurant the next morning.

Though I did not end up using this venue for my wedding, I absolutely had to write a review because the service we received was amazing. Laure, the events coordinator, turned over proposals very quickly, met us at the hotel to walk through the property and was willing to accommodate the many needs of our wedding weekend. She is amiable and extremely easy to work with! The only reason we did not go with this location was proximity to our home .

Laure, the events coordinator, turned over proposals very quickly, met us at the hotel to walk through the property and was willing to accommodate the many needs of our wedding weekend. I am honestly between 3 and 4 stars because they did a good job during the ceremony part but during the reception it was a bit lack luster. Reservations were also hard. When booking the rooms we booked 10 rooms thinking that would be the friday to sunday but what was not told to us or made more of a point was the 10 rooms were split up into 5 rooms on friday and 5 rooms on saturday which became a bit of a nightmare bc we kept having to add more rooms. They also had 2 other weddings there 1 on the day after mine and 1 at another location so the rooms were becoming less and less. Another complaint was when we were doing the walk through to see if we wanted to book this location (11 months before the wedding) we were told my groom and his men would have the changing area which was going to be the holding room later on. But the sales coordinator held it starting after the wedding and never held it before. We found this out about 1 to 2 weeks before the wedding. Bc of all the weddings and a conference that was in-house the guys had to go to a normal room to change. We were told they would have it all day as long as they don't sleep in there. I told the sales coordinator that they would be there about 12. She had reserved the room until 12! They were never told they had to move their stuff and never told where to move their stuff too and they made us pay for the room due to the miscommunication on their part. We had the ceremony outside which was very nice they draped the trash cans and the dog bag stations. Inside the venue all my decorations were in the cocktail hour and pretty much none of them were placed inside the reception (maybe thats the day of coord fault). The apps were coming out of 1 door and weren't able to get around to everyone bc they would stop for the people who were right at the door. I would still recommend this place but make sure everything is in writing about reservations, rooms, times people need to be out of rooms, were the guys are getting ready and what time they need to be out and then where to put their stuff.

I've had several friends select this venue for their weddings. It has always resulted in added stress for the bride and groom leading up to the wedding. All of my friends have experienced frequent change in wedding coordinators and difficulty in delivering on what was originally agreed in the contract. Additionally, the serving staff at the venue is incredibly unprofessional. Recently several of the staff members reprimanded guests for their dietary restrictions, indicating that the guests had no choice but to eat what would worsen their allergies. When they finally agreed to provide an allergy friendly meal, they frequently walked by and told one guest she would \"just have to wait\" every time they passed the table. Overall from what I've witnessed, other venues would be less stressful.

Good location for guest accommodations for a Carlyle Club wedding, great breakfast at Trademark, staff is attentive, rooms are nice. Note that Parking is valet only at $35/day and there is no longer a pool.

Working with David Magsumbol at the Westin Alexandria was amazing! David is a perfectionist, cares about his brides and their families, and will go to great lengths to make sure that your wedding day goes perfectly. I had a lot of very specific requests, and David made sure each one was met perfectly. He even offered a sweater to my husband's grandmother because she was cold during pictures. Everything ran completely according to plan, the room was beautiful, the staff attentive, and the food was good. Throughout the evening I saw David numerous times and each time he assured me that everything was going according to plan. I can't thank him enough for making sure our wedding day was as perfect as it was. The hotel is one of the biggest, and newly renovated hotels in the area, and it is in a great location. We had guests fly in from all over the country, so selecting a hotel 7 minutes from the airport, in a great town for tourists could not have been a better move. I highly recommend David, and the Westin Alexandria.

If you are looking for a great venue for your wedding, or really any party, look to the Westin Alexandria. It all started when we met David Magsumbol. There is absolutely NO better person to help you with your wedding than David. He is smart, organized, creative, and really wants your wedding to be perfect for you both. I would have events ANYWHERE he works. He is the keeper of your timeline and patiently walks you through every part and every phase. He is truly amazing. \r\rThe food is fantastic and the hotel is gorgeous. We were in Salon EFG and it was a perfect space for around 100 people. The Westin gave us a great room rate and was also able to accommodate our rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch. Great space, great people, and great value.\r\rDo yourself a favor and make your wedding stress go away - hire David and the Westin.

We had a great experience with the Westin Alexandria. David Magsumbol, the catering manager, was wonderful to work with and the rest of the staff was great. David helped us come up awesome ideas for our reception, such as the order of events, linens and ceremony decoration. They were very accommodating and flexible, especially with our many food requests and allergies, and the food was amazing!! It was a wonderful location very close to Old Town and easy access to the airport and Metro. \r

We couldn't have been more please with this venue and location. Located just a few blocks from old town and built only four years ago, this was the perfect site for our wedding reception and a place for our guests to stay. From the planning process with David Magsumbol and his staff to the intricate pinning of the head table, we couldn't have been happier. Everything was beautiful from the table settings and decor to the very last event, the Sunday brunch. David and his staff did everything to ensure that the cocktail hour, reception and brunch ran smoothly. Ohh and the kitchen staff did an amazing job preparing and presentating all of the food! It was delicious.\rThe only thing that we were not pleased with was the front desk staff.
