Julianne Adams(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-06-2017 If we could give 6 stars in this situation, we would. Choosing The Westin Copley Place was one of the best decisions that we made with respect to planning our wedding. Giving accolades to this gorgeous venue in the center of Boston goes hand in hand with two people: 1) Gabriel Campos was our catering manager and event coordinator and was by our side every step of the way for the whole year leading up to our big day. He took care of everything, and I mean everything for us. There were many different vendors and personality types involved in the process, and Gabe handled everything with finesse, professionalism and kindness, all while keeping our vision in mind. Our day was simply perfect, and we have Gabe to thank for that. He made us feel like we had a lifelong friend planning our wedding and reception, and we felt like we were the only clients he cared about. 2) Chef Daniel Pogue and his entire staff were more than we ever could have hoped for. The food at our wedding (we had several unique stations) was some of the best we had ever tasted. We were not at all surprised to find out later that he is one of the top ranked chefs for Marriott in the world. We still hear compliments from our guests about the incredible food and service that they experienced on our wedding day. We can’t thank Gabe, Chef Pogue, and the Westin Copley Place for making our day so incredibly special from the big details to the small gifts and gestures that only we would know about. Thank you for making our day amazing! Reviewed on 02-10-2017

We recently had our wedding at The Westin Copley Place and we could not have been happier with our decision! From the initial planning process to the wedding night communication between us and the hotel staff was seamless. Bridget was our wedding coordinator and she went above and beyond with every detail. She was extremely attentive and made all of the details we hoped for our wedding come to life! Not only was she extremely personable and able to handle a lot of questions with ease but she also had amazing ideas to help make our dream a reality! Kim also helped us with coordinating our wedding and assisted Bridget with all of our details. The reception room and ballrooms we had our events in were absolutely gorgeous and the bridal suite was beyond all of our expectations with plenty of space. All of our vendors complimented how much room we had for getting ready and the amazing lighting we had for getting ready pictures :) The food was impeccable. Despite our larger wedding size everyone complimented the food and everything was delicious. We also held our welcome party at Bar 10 and Alexandra helped us with every detail and was incredible with all of the moving parts and our larger party for our night before. I feel so lucky to have had such an amazing experience for our wedding and would highly HIGHLY recommend any future couple to get married here. It’s also located in a prime location for amazing outdoor pictures and picturesque Boston backdrop! Reviewed on 05-01-2024
Danielle B(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-06-2022 Buyer beware!!! If you don't want to babysit and hound ppl for 11 months to do their jobs... look elsewhereI'll start with the positives: large ballroom with a cocktail room nearby so it feels like the whole floor is yours. Great penthouse/bridal suite for the bride. All inclusive package makes it easier overall as I was away at schoolCons: Getting the wrong salad served at your wedding.. Paying for a full 5 hour open bar only to have guests coming up to you asking why there isn't any vodka or tequila at the bars. For some reason half of bars were only serving beer and wine for the first 2 hours when that was not agreed upon in our contract. None of the vendors could get up to my room unless we went to get them. Not a huge deal but something to plan around as its 36 floors up. Very poor communication overall. Emails unanswered. Waiting days and sometimes weeks for responses/confirmation.But the worst thing was that at about noon the day before the wedding we were notified that we needed to pay the full venue price by credit card by 5pm. They would not accept any other form of payment like a check etc because they needed it to clear by 5pm. okay... this is the first we are hearing of this.. deep breaths. I don't know about you but no one in my family has a credit limit to pay for 260 guests on a moments notice (you can do the math $$). When we secured the venue about 11 months before the wedding, my husband put his credit card down for deposits (can't secure the venue without paying a deposit right?). Contract was signed. All was good to go. Over the course of the next 11 months, not a cent was taken from the account. No one ever withdrew the deposit, nothing. For months everyone was MIA. Nothing about payment was even spoken of until the day before the wedding when they demanded the total in full (*panicking*). Luckily both of our parents could extend their credit card limits and get most of it paid for (just what they want to be doing the day before their children get married right?), however there was still 17k remaining balance after their credit limits. The next morning, the DAY OF THE WEDDING we were scrambling to pay the remainder (because again.. they wouldn't take a check, only credit card). My inlaws/fiance were able to put the rest on another card but long story short only 15k would go through bc of credit limits. After that (all of us unaware about that 15k limit that had occurred), they charged my father (on his hotel room balance) an UNAUTHORIZED $2000 which he subsequently discussed with financial department and they somehow blamed it on my husband for not paying deposits when his card was ON FILE for that sole purpose for 11 MONTHS. I'm sorry but YOU forgot to take any money out along the way. Terrible experience. Sorry for the rant. Soooo disorganized. Maybe I should have know this was coming in terms of the money situation but so many people dropped the ball along the way and it was so much unnecessary stress for the 48hours surrounding the wedding. Not to mention the fee they charged my inlaws for parking in front of the hotel for an 15 extra minutes because we had to pack the car with all of our wedding supplies. Just money hungry. We were also told it was no problem if you need extra rooms on your room block and that they could just add them when we needed them.. only to find out they couldn't extend it when more people needed rooms. The list goes on and on. Ill spare you the other small details. Reviewed on 08-07-2022

The Westing Copley was an amazing wedding venue. My husband and I just had our wedding there this past weekend and I can’t say enough good things about the whole day! Our coordinator changed about a month ago from Gabriel to Troy. Troy was so responsive and caught up on everything so fast. Everything exceeded our expectations. This normally would have been very stressful since we had not planned on this, but Gabe and his team quickly accommodated the request. He was at the Westin 5:30 AM the morning of the wedding to make sure everything was ready to go and handled last minute requests. The guests raved about the food and the location. We had 180 people and the room was the perfect size.\rThe food was excellent as well. I was nervous after the tasting because I loved everything I tried and you always hear that at the actual reception food it isn't as good as at the tasting. Well this was not the case at the Westin. I'm still getting raving reviews about the food weeks after the wedding (music to my ears)! We did have a small hiccup with our vegetarian meal because the wrong meal was served at the reception, but the waitstaff was very sympathetic and helped get out other meals as soon as possible. \rShauna Richmond was our wedding coordinator and I have nothing but great things to say about her. After our first meeting I was completely comfortable with her and trusted her judgement 100%. She set up lots of candles all throughout the room the night of and it helped create such an elegant ambiance. She instantly won us over with her passion for what she does and friendly personality. The view of the room looks onto Copley Square and is beautiful! Leading up to the wedding, Shauna was very responsive to our questions, literally for a year and half I emailed her back and fourth :) On the day of the wedding Shauna was not available to be there (we knew this ahead of time). The Westin staff treated us wonderfully from check in the day before. They obtained anything that we needed for the wedding. On the day of the wedding, their was a parade that shut down streets in Boston. Our shuttles to the church were late picking up guest, therefore I could not go out the main entrance. I got in contact with hotel security who took me out the loading docks so that I would not be seen by guests. I am so thankful for their help! The food was hot and delicious. I have been to so many weddings where the food was cold, this was not the case at the Westin. Best wedding food i've had yet and many of our guests confirmed it! The prime rib we got was massive, tender, and cooked to perfection. My only complaint would be on the day of the wedding without Shauna being present; it left for some confusion regarding the bar and setup of the room. My husband went to order a drink at 10P for the first time, and he discovered that our alcohol upgrades has not been met, like previously agreed upon, including his favorite scotch. The only other issue was staff cleaning up early, as several guest went back for their champagne toast and it was cleaned off the table. My husband and I each had a sip of our toast, and then never saw it again once we got up to talk to people. Overall, I would recommend a wedding here, the value and personal attention you get is well worth it. It was a pleasure working with the Westin Copley and Shauna in planning our wedding. Up until our wedding I have never heard of a venue serving 150 petit filets PERFECTLY! I got more compliments on the food than my dress (which I am very ok with). So many of our guests (some can be very harsh critics) said it was the best wedding they have ever been to!\r\rMore than anything, our choice to have it at the Westin was mainly because of the Wedding Coordinator Shauna Richmond. From the very first meeting, you could tell her passion was my wedding and still was even days after our event. She even went to pick up his tux for him the day of the wedding when it wasn't ready the day before.
