The William Vale Reviews

We have nothing but incredible things to say about our experience with the William Vale. We felt from the day we toured the venue all the way through our wedding weekend that we were taken care of in all the best ways. We originally worked with Arielle who left a few months before our wedding, but Madeline stepped in without missing a beat. She was communicative, helpful, thoughtful and wonderful to work with top to bottom. The William Vale took care of our guests and families throughout the entire weekend. Our room was beautiful, the food at our wedding fantastic, and the view at Westlight cannot be beat by any other venue in the city. We are so grateful to have celebrated the best weekend of our lives with the William Vale. Reviewed on 10-12-2023

Definitely on the pricier side (we did the roof), but everything came together perfectly. The staff were friendly and accommodating and willing to put up with some of my annoying last minute changes. I felt like they truly enjoyed helping us with all of our details and I would definitely do it again HA Reviewed on 15-10-2023
Jolene Spivack(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-09-2021 My husband and I had been planning our wedding since December 2019 for May 2021, and then postponed to September 2021 (due to Covid). At first, we were working with Isabel, and then transitioned to working with Arielle and Camille. Everyone at The William Vale - from the event staff, to hotel staff, to restaurant staff - was such a pleasure. They were so responsive via email, so easy to work with when we had to change our date, and dealt with all of our neurosis leading up to the day of the wedding. The wedding itself was such a success. We got married at the peak of golden hour / sunset and it was a dream. The ceremony exceeded all of our expectations. We also had an after party which was just the icing on the cake. Everyone the next day let us know it was the most beautiful party they had ever attended (and that the food was the best wedding food they ever had!). If you want your dream wedding, I can't recommend The William Vale enough!!! Reviewed on 23-09-2021
Sarah K.(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-06-2021 Honestly, had the worst possible experience ever trying to plan our wedding at the William Vale. Granted it was during Covid, so there was a lot of ambiguity, but the entire experience was pretty horrendous. The planner from the WV team never answered e-mails on time, we often waited days (sometimes a week would go by) for a response. We'd essentially be running in circles receiving misconstrued information and updates. We had been working with the WV team since October (wedding was in June 2021) and we had to last minute make the decision to pull out and book a brand new venue two months before our wedding due to the unprofessionalism, the lack of support and the inconsistency from the William Vale team across the board. Not sure if they'd be more buttoned up in a post-Covid world, but also not sure I'd recommend based on what we had to endure with them. Really bad experience and for the price we were anticipating to pay to host our wedding there... I'd expect much better. Reviewed on 07-07-2021
Samantha Viola(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2020 If you’re thinking of having the most beautiful NYC wedding with the entire skyline of NY as your backdrop, RUN DON’T WALK to the William Vale and start screaming for Isabel. Lol don’t do that BUT seriously this venue was my husband and my dream venue from the moment we walked on the premises. I never saw myself getting married in NYC because I wanted an outdoor wedding and most of the gorgeous city venues are indoors. When we walked up onto the rooftop in September we asked Isabel to put a hold on a date the next August without hesitation. The view alone will sell you. We had our wedding during COVID-19 And the William Vale did everything in their power to make it not only safe for our guests but also as beautiful and perfect as we could have imagined. It didn’t feel like a “COVID wedding” - it felt like the wedding we had dreamed of all of our lives. The food is delicious, drinks are amazing, the views speak for themselves and the hotel itself is just gorgeous. Now to Isabel, our planner. She is just exceptional. I don’t really have many words except perfect, professional, caring and THE BEST. Isabel went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I got to have our special day despite the circumstances. One of the best parts of getting married at the William Vale was having her on our team to get through this crazy year. I highly suggest the rooftop and terrace for your ceremony and reception. We wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding if given the option except maybe to not be in the middle of a pandemic :) thank you William Vale and specifically Isabel for providing us with the best day of our life!! Georgios Sdonas(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-08-2018 My Fiance and I threw our engagement party at the William vale and our experience was outstanding. We submitted an inquire to many places before but the Vale turned out to be the best option by far. Tessa the Event Manager went above and beyond in order for us and our guests to have a memorable night. During our preliminary conversations she suggested that the garden residence suite would be the best spot to do a 50-60 guest party. Turns out she was absolutely right. Tessa and the chef even added Mediterranean influenced appetizers knowing that my fiance is Greek. The day of our event it was raining pretty bad and Tessa made sure to give us a call and assure us that she had inspected the room and that the rain did not affect the patio at all. She even send us a video to prove it! When we arrived at the hotel the concierge knew our name before we even say anything. They promptly escorted us to the suite where a bottle of champagne and chocolates were waiting for us! Half an hour later Tessa showed up with a bunch of flower arrangements we had delivered at the front desk. She placed them around the room and patio, showed us how everything works etc. When our guests arrived the service mas very professional and efficient. The bartender was super fun and polite and the whole staff was exceptional. We recommend the Vale garden residence to anyone that wants to throw a good cocktail party and hopefully Tessa will be your event manager. We were so blown away by the service that we are now considering doing our wedding at their rooftop next summer! Reviewed on 12-09-2018
Rachel Diskin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-08-2018 My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at The William Vale and it was for 120 guests, more like a wedding! Planning our rehearsal dinner was the most seamless experience, due to working with Tessa. Tessa went above and beyond and made our planning so easy. It is hard to find people in this industry who respond right away and take on events like it is their own, she did this. She is super talented and professional. We had the most delicious food that the chef created to work with a Mediterranean vibe. The food and service were some of the best. I would recommend asking to work with Tessa so you can have the same experience we had. The best! Reviewed on 06-09-2018

Tessa Voeel was an exceptional event planner. She was attentive, intuitive and meticulous. She walked me and my husband through every step of the process to secure space at the William Vale. She expedited every request and made sure that she did the very best she could to make our experience memorable. My husband and I decided to get married at the William Vale because of it's amazing panoramic views of the city and Brooklyn. M | I(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2018 The William Vale became our home away from home for the past year as we planned our wedding! We ate at all the restaurants, checked out the public park, & met with Tessa multiple times to go over details. Every time we went to TWV we were treated with respect and courtesy. What we loved: - Tessa!!! She was always professional, personable, & would go out of her way to accommodate us. - The gorgeous venue including the picture perfect views from the rooftop, the marble foyer, & the modern ballroom. - The food was delicious. All of our guests were raving about the food! - Guest rooms were gorgeous & every room had an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline & a balcony! - Amy made sure that our bridal suite was set up for the girls to get ready. What could improve: - Cost to host a wedding. It was quite expensive for a few hours! - Some of the guests had difficulty booking rooms in our block on the website. - Wait time for our guests to check-in & room keys expiring exactly at 11am. Overall, The William Vale will always hold a special place in our hearts since we celebrated the best day of the rest of our lives there! Reviewed on 19-11-2017
Caroline Culich(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2017 Our wedding at The William Vale was magical. We got married on the 4th floor terrace and the ceremony overlooked the Manhattan skyline. We had the cocktail hour downstairs and a beautiful reception in the ball room. Tessa was incredible and helped us with the process start to finish- she made sure the run of show was flawless and knew every detail regarding our wedding. She was an absolute pleasure to work with! The food was amazing- our guests couldn't get over how wonderful the food was. Some of our favorites were the Vermont burrata and braised short rib. The pastry chef created a beautiful wedding cake that was picture perfect! The entire staff did a wonderful job on the night of our wedding. We could not have picked a better venue! Ashley Khan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2016 I married my best friend yesterday at Brooklyn Winery (see review - most amazing venue) - and stayed for the weekend at the William Vale hotel. I was able to set up a room block for my guests and worked closely with Amy who took me for a tour of the hotel, coordinated a booking link for my guests and checked in regarding reservations during the weeks leading up to the wedding weekend. She coordinated to have the necessary hair/makeup chairs in the room as well as a steamer and even checked in the day of with me and my photographer if we needed access to the picture perfect roof for photos. The entire staff at the William vale were extremely accommodating and sweet to me and all of my guests. The views are spectacular and cannot be beat! After our wedding at the winery we came back to the rooftop bar which was the perfect space to keep the party going! Stay at the William Vale ASAP Reviewed on 30-10-2016
