Words cannot describe how great my experience with the Windmill was. The exceptional team that feels more like family than event coordinators from the very start enveloped us in a warm and professional embrace, making every step of our wedding journey not just seamless, but genuinely enjoyable. Tala was our event planner, she was incredibly knowledgeable and communicative throughout the process. In the moments I was stressing out Tala did a phenomenal job of being quick to finding solutions and accommodating both me and my wife. On the day itself the staff's genuine enthusiasm and smiles made the venue into a place filled with positive energy. They seamlessly planned every moment, allowing us to focus ourselves fully in the joy of the celebration. If you are looking for a place that treats you like family and handles their operations flawlessly you got the right place! Reviewed on 15-12-2023

Hollie Letourneau(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-01-2022 What a dream. My wedding turned out beautifully and I couldn’t have imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Karen was our coordinator and her communication was excellent from start to finish. Tana was extremely knowledgeable and really made us feel like more than just a number. The only reason The Windmill did not get a 5th star, is because we did have a negative experience with a different coordinator before getting paired with Karen. This coordinator did not prioritize communication and after following up with her over the course of two months, I finally had to loop a supervisor in to get an answer on a question I had been asking. Unfortunately, we did get an attitude from this coordinator afterwards. A few months later, I reached out again with another question, and I went another month without a response entirely. An all star vendor team is crucial when making a wedding come together. Once we were switched and got Karen as our coordinator, the rest of the planning went by without any hiccups. Can’t recommend the Windmill enough! Reviewed on 26-04-2022
Katherine Sweeney(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-03-2021 This is an elegant and sophisticated venue with rustic and intimate charm. We chose the Barn as our reception site - absolutely beautiful! We could not be happier with the quality of their service and grounds every step of the way. As we had to reschedule our reception a year later due to it being cancelled through COVID, we were grateful they worked with us and did everything they could to make it a smooth transition. We were so blessed by our coordinator, Karen, and her support and compassion through all of the planning and replanning. We loved the outdoor games, s'mores bonfire, gorgeous yet cozy landscape and decor, and the wonderful staff. Book the Winery, it's worth it! Reviewed on 04-05-2021

Randi-Lea Mussro(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-02-2020 We loved working with Stephanie as our event coordinator. She did an amazing job of keeping everything straight leading up to the wedding as well as the day of. We chose the winery because so many vendors were included (and we had options!). Sometimes too many options is too much for me, so this worked out perfectly. They were super helpful with all of our questions and being as accommodating as possible. Really my only 'complaint' and reason for a 4-start on flexibility was an issue with providing champagne for one bridesmaid who did not drink beer or wine. They wanted to charge $80 for a bottle (after we spent thousands on the wedding itself and a few more thousand on beverages). They did end up allowing it to be available for purchase, but I think there was miscommunication with the bartender as this didn't happen. I also wish bottled water would have been included for our guests. We spent $20 on water from Costco, but they easily could have charged me $50 in the overall cost and I would have happily paid for convenience. These were seriously minor details in an otherwise absolutely perfect venue and day. Bonus: we were able to bring puppies instead of bouquets for the bridesmaids! Reviewed on 01-04-2020
Ashley west(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-02-2020 Very organized, beautiful setting, loved our wedding coordinator, great about communicating. My only complaint why I didn’t give 5 stars is I wish I could have got ready in the bridal cottage. I live in Chandler so it was stressful getting ready at my house then driving over the morning of my wedding. Several photos were missed because we got there 15 minutes late and ran behind on everything. I wish they would offer packages that allow brides to get ready in the cottage. I would have purchased a package that included that even if I had to pay more. Reviewed on 25-03-2020
Mallory Clarke(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-02-2020 We just got married at The Lakehouse at Windmill Winery on 2/16/2020 and had the best experience! The three things that come to mind when I think of Windmill are: excellent customer service, clear communication, and flexibility. From our initial tour through the end of our wedding, we were blown away with Tana (our event coordinator), her team, and all that Windmill offers in their packages. I feel like we got the wedding of our dreams on a reasonable budget and the planning process was incredibly smooth. Unlike many wedding venues, Windmill provides so much in their packages and takes care of so much of the set up and clean up, making our day feel seamless and easy. My husband has 2 kids and Tana did everything to make sure they felt included by and ensuring our reception was family-friendly through her ideas and support and by bringing them special drinks during our reception. Our guests had a blast during our reception adventuring around the property, playing games (cornhole), and roasting marshmallows at the fire. During set up, we realized that we forgot our table numbers for the reception and after one quick phone call to Tana she sprang into action, printing perfect replacements for each table (and didn't charge us for the supplies or her time!). I felt like our money was spent well choosing Windmill as our venue and I'm incredibly grateful for our experience! Thank you, Windmill Team! Reviewed on 24-02-2020

From start to finish everything went along with ease, and I always felt my questions and needs were not only heard but action was taken in making our once in a life time day become a reality. We started our Windmill Winery journey with Tana Sheets, she was amazing! She helped draft our contract and help guide us in making sure all the little details important to us were considered and communicated through to our venue support team. Karen Durham was our assigned coordinator; she too went above and beyond ensuring all would be perfect. Karen was calm and collected the day of and helped keep everything on track. I spoke to both Tana and Karen multiple times over the course of the year planning and they were always so responsive and helpful in their guidance. Angela Campo was also amazing! She helped organize our rehearsal at the wine tasting room and always had a smile on her face; she had a way of helping put your worries as ease. Angela, Karen, and Tana walked me to the barn before the ceremony to let me see how all the little details came together. It was a very special moment for me and I was so appreciative of all three of these women throughout the planning process and day of! Another thank you to the venue preferred DJ, Joel Gibbs, he was AMAZING! Joel helped make the reception be one of a kind and kept the energy alive the entire night. But even more than that, the staff and vendors were so friendly and helpful, especially our wedding coordinator! We had a wedding party of 17 people (not including me or my husband). It no doubt could have been chaotic but she handled it so well and kept everything flowing on time. There is no way we could have pulled it off without her! Ciara Dodge(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-01-2019 Planning process with this venue is a nightmare!!! You can never get ahold of anyone, they assign you a “coordinator” 6 months out who doesn’t even do anything except ask you what your ideas are. My mom planned the whole thing and by time the 6 month mark hit we didn’t even need their “coordinator”. Owner KATIE is a disaster to deal with, she was nothing but rude to me and anyone we brought to see the venue. If you question her beware she WILL THREATEN TO CANCEL YOUR WEDDING. My mom expressed concerns about something we were lied to about, and instead of taking the accountability Katie responded by telling her she was the most difficult brides mother she’s ever dealt with and nothing could ever make us happy so they decided they would be cancelling our event instead. That was 3 months before my date. On top of all the lies they will tell you they’ll get a liquor license very soon, but we booked a year and a half in advance(because we were pushed and told our date was already wanted) and they still had no license by the time of my wedding. They also don’t give you a full beer/wine bar they only give you THREE choices and don’t you worry you won’t know about that until about 3 months before when they ask for your beverage choices. The entire planning time of my wedding Katie knew my husband and I were upset with all of the lies and broken promises and not once reached out to me or anyone else, unless she was threatening us and holding the contract over our head, again no accountability on her or her sales girls part. It was always OUR fault. I wrote a yelp review and it wasn’t until then that I was asked to reach out to their office manager, again why am I reaching out to you? You’re the business owner? Anyways, you try to call and never get ahold of anyone just like during the planning process. Halfway through the planning our caterer changed and NO ONE TOLD US, we found out on our own when we couldn’t get ahold of anyone and called multiple times. Seems like something you’d want to tell people doesn’t it??? I just warn everyone please read your contracts in full depth before signing because a lot of stuff was out of the norm or lies during the tour process . We also had a lot of issues with one person telling us one thing and another person saying something completely different so be careful with that and try to get everything in writing, they’ll trick you into phone calls a lot of the time so you can’t prove what’s being said. One last thing I have to warn people about is that everything is extra, and I’m talking everything. During your tour they’ll make you think stuff is included but it’s not so ask questions and be very careful!! That pretty fire pit they show you? Yeah it’s $30 an hour to add on. That wood better have diamond flakes in it for that price. Also, beware if you want different linens they make you go pick them yourself at a warehouse in Mesa and no one there will answer either so it’ll take months just to find out the color name or style. Finally to end my review beware of all these good reviews on here, they offer prizes and giveaways to people for good reviews which I think is such a fake way to get good reviews, but hey nothing about this business is real or authentic so I shouldn’t be surprised. Anna Houfburg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-01-2019 I loved this venue from the moment I arrived. It you want to feel like you’re in a fairytale land, book this venue! I got married at the Lake House because I wanted a body of water near by and it was beautiful! You get married on a beautiful dock and have the reception inside the lake house. There is lots to do for the quests and the grounds are beautiful. The wine is really good and the lake house venue is not too large so it feels very intimate. The day of ran smoothly for the most part but we were assigned a last minute coordinator because our first one had an emergency. This is fine but I didn’t feel like the new coordinator knew all of the details of what was previously discussed. My florist gave her a basket of rose petals that was supposed to be scattered down the aisle but this was not done. :( thankfully the florist refunded me for those but it was not their fault. Overall though the day was magical and I would definitely choose this venue over again. Reviewed on 20-03-2019

We went to tour the Windmill Winery just to do our due diligence, but we ended up completely falling in love with the place. Everything about it was elegant and what we pictured a real wedding should look like. We have been to one open house so far, and every single person we have met from the venue and the caterers have been beyond polite and kind. Their first impression single-handedly made us change our minds and have our wedding at the Winery. They clearly have done this before and the entire process is so easy and stress-free. After visiting just a single open house we had picked out food caterer, cake caterer, and DJ. Additionally, one thing that very much stuck out to me was how ethical the process and people were. There was no ridiculous up charging for things. What you paid for in the venue price covers enough food and cake for all your guests. You don't have to pay additional fees to actually get enough cake to feed all your guests. I am genuinely pleased with our decision to have our wedding at this beautiful property. Staci Emilianowicz(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-01-2018 We got married at The Windmill Winery in January of 2018. This venue was incredibly unique and gorgeous. The biggest advantage was just how peaceful it was compared to anything we could find in Phoenix. That being said, the venue did come with its own set of benefits and challenges. We loved that this venue was all inclusive. It took the stress out of choosing vendors. The downside was that in order to work with the vendors (taste test the food, meet with our coordinator, etc.,) it had to be done down in Florence. We found this to be a little frustrating. The venue owners are fantastic. The week before the wedding I was stressed out and Katie took the time to talk me off the ledge. Shes an incredible soul. The venue does provide a coordinator but I would recommend hiring your own. Throughout the day I found myself wishing I had someone who was with me throughout the day to handle the family and any other requests that came up. That being said, it did rain for a solid 2 hours before our ceremony and the staff had to scramble to move things (decorative tables, programs, guest sign-in, etc.,) inside. The staff did a fantastic job completing things on the fly. Our biggest issue we had with the venue (aside from the distance, which we were aware of), was some of the policies. The Winery asks that you make decisions such as having a firepit, heater, etc., 10 days before the wedding. If you needed to add on a heater last minute you would be charged \"peak pricing\". Now, I understand that staffing and supplies may be involved but when you're getting married outside, in Arizona, in late winter (which is normally beautiful), the weather is not always consistent. At the 10 day mark, we were projected to have high 70s. By the time the actual wedding came around it was a high of 54. The venue did provide the option to add on the heater and firepit last minute without the peak pricing, but that was only after I reached out to Katie to express my concern.Another frustration was their guest number policy. They request a guest count ridiculously early on. We had to commit and pay for 100 people a year out from our wedding. Anything over was $80 a head and anything below that was lost money. We made it work but in the end we still technically lost money as we were below guest count. We felt that this was out of the norm compared to other venues who take final guest count 10 days before and thats what you pay for. Also, you are only allowed to have access to the bridal bungalow and grooms room for 4 hours unless you pay extra. This adds to the stress of the day as you have to worry about things getting moved during cocktail hour and removes a place for the bride and groom to take a break during the reception. I would have appreciated the break. Although I mentioned this to the owners already, I think they should evaluate some of their policies and make sure they're consistently doing whats right for the bride and groom.Their venue is gorgeous and I'm so happy we got married there. I just wish we didn't experience the bumps in the road that we did. Reviewed on 02-03-2018

Although its an hour drive out in the middle of nowhere, the landscape and picture opportunities throughout the breathtaking barn, ceremony sites, yard games, beer burro and wines will never be topped in my mind! It was the most beautiful fairy tale place for our wedding! From Jordan introducing us to the Windmill Winery as we were touring venues, to Karen becoming our wedding coordinator, everything went fantastic! Jordan was the sweetest and nicest person to first put a face to our venue. She seemed just as excited about my wedding as I did - she also was always available to call/text on little details that popped into my head throughout the days (and nights).Karen walked us through our wedding process starting 6 months before the wedding. She was on top of EVERYTHING! I didn't need to worry about one thing except picking what I wanted. She made the wedding of our dreams happen and she was so extremely nice to work with. The day of the wedding, I barely saw her, but throughout the day, Karen and her minions made our day the smoothest and most perfect day. I can't thank everyone enough! Reviewed on 20-01-2018
Taylor Tometich(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2017 The venue is absolutely beautiful but the planning process is a nightmare. The winery seems to be inexperienced and they are NOT willing to accommodate any requests you may have. We were rushed into booking the venue and it seemed as if the girl dealing with our account was working on commission because she was very abrasive and threatened to give our date away. We booked well over a year in advance and were not assigned a coordinator until 6 months before which turned out to be a waste of time since I did EVERYTHING myself anyway. I originally booked the winery because they had an inclusive package with suggested vendors that knew the property. That ended up not working since none of their vendors were available so I had to find all my own vendors. The winery refunded us a ridiculously small amount of money for the vendors we had to find on our own which didn't even cover 1/4 of the new vendor costs. The booking coordinator also promised my father that they would have their hard alcohol license by the time our wedding rolled around and that didn't seem to happen. During the rehearsal, we were rushed and had no time for pictures and laughs with family and friends. The coordinator was aggressive and physically forceful with us and pulled and pushed the wedding party members in the directions she wanted them to walk or stand. On the day of the wedding, you are only allowed to arrive 1.5 hrs early to take photos and set up which was stressful because I was only told a few days prior that the coordinators do not help with set up; you must assign a wedding party member or a family member to do those things. At the end of the night we were rushed out before our payed for time was over and the wedding party was barked at to clean up and grab anything that was not part of the winery's property. On a positive note, I was able to talk to Katie, the owner, a few days prior to the wedding and she was extremely sweet and eager to help fix my negative experience. Reviewed on 07-01-2018

All of our guests were blown away by this piece of paradise in the desert. The beautiful views are self-explanatory, as well as the kind staff and event coordinators. Shauna, our event coordinator in particular, was an amazing help, and made our night perfect. All of the vendors we chose from were excellent, and work so seamlessly together. Janelle Wilke(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-12-2016 My husband and I chose this venue because we wanted something a little less reminiscent of the desert for our wedding. Amusingly, when we went to Florence to check the place out, we drove through extremely barren desert. Fast-forward to the day of our wedding (12/15/2016), where we're on a shuttle headed to the Windmill Winery and I can hear some of the skepticism Joe and I had when we first drove out. (\"So... uh, what made you pick this place?\") But once we arrived, everyone immediately understood why. All throughout the night we received compliments. There were many places to explore (my guests enjoyed the wine tasting room and the farm animals... particularly a charismatic turkey). Daleen worked seamlessly with the vendors to make this day great. She was very put-together and I can't thank her enough for what she did: She allowed me to truly enjoy the day. I had internalized so much stress, planning this day, but miraculously, I didn't have a single worry the day of. It was a great place for my family and friends to celebrate with us, and we had so much FUN.I highly recommend this venue to a couple who wants something a little different in Arizona... and especially for those who value a team that will run the show for you. Their selected vendors were great (we had Kiss the Chef cater dinner, Joel from Ellagant Entertainment as the DJ, and Lesley's Creative Cakes). Again, I appreciate Daleen going through everything so thoroughly. I especially appreciated when she provided some insight and precautions about an open-bar, so there wouldn't be any unexpected surprises! Windmill Winery's expertise definitely showed with our wedding. Thank you! Reviewed on 02-02-2017
Anonymous (bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-03-2018 DISAPPOINTING!!! I have very mixed feelings for the Windmill Winery. The first few words that comes to mind is Disappointing, Discouraging and just plan sad. My husband I stumbled along the Windmill Winery at the Phoenix Bridal show, and instantly fell in love with the property and pictures and knew we had to go see it! We of course went to multiple open houses that they have often, which is a great touch. Both of us being in the hospitality industry were picky, to say the least. While at the Bridal Show and the Open House we saw one person that made us feel like this was a great place... The owner was working both, hustling and actually seemed to care about the business. We knew we found the place. The grounds are beautiful, they do a great job at maintaining and creating a unified ambiance that every bride wants right now, rustic elegance. It all turned after booking and signing the contract... the company seems to have the sales and contracting part down but when it comes to execution or questions they have no idea what they are doing. And, I'm surprised that they have lasted as long as they have. Please be aware that after signing your contract you are not assigned to your Event Manager until 6 months out from your wedding. No name or email to contact if you have questions until then... I went almost a year without have anyone to talk to ask simple questions; how big are your tables? What is your wine list? Do you offer water? (nope they charge you for water). And when I did have questions, I got sent from person to person until someone could answer my question and then was told; 'I'm not your Event Manager but here are your answers.\" --- Does that seem ok? Honestly what it came down to for us was just plain communication. Everything was jumbled; we got bounced from Event Manager to Event Manger, not having one, then the next one left, then we didn't have one, then we got the Owner, then we finally got assigned one. With each one not giving our notes to the next, and had to start over each time (including with the owner). I'm not saying we weren't picky or had special requests everyone does were not out of the ordinary but, when your Event Manager goes 3 weeks without getting back to you... you start to worry about the professionalism of the company. I work at a hotel as an Event Manager, when you leave for your days off or to handle a family matter for 3 weeks or even a day you put an out of office on.... Just plain professionalism. Things like this happened time and time again. I even got threatened emails from the accountant that they were going to drop our wedding due to an out of date credit card. But, little did she know she had a new credit card in her inbox 5 days prior... again communication and professionalism. I know tell people when they ask me how my wedding was and do I recommend the Windmill Winery as a location, my answer is, 'NO! Pretty place but the people are terrible to work with.' Still to this day I want my money back! Reviewed on 24-01-2017
Emmy Driscoll(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-11-2016 We got married at the Windmill Winery Lake House on Nov. 26th, 2016. Everything about wedding planning was so easy thank you to the Windmill. We went to the initial open house which was amazing, you have the opportunity to see what the venues looked like set up for a wedding, get to taste the foods & the desserts and also meet with all the different preferred vendors. Once I got home, I told my fiance about it and he immediately said no, he was turned off by the distance from Chandler, the fact that they had beer and wine only, and that the town was too little for an after party. Finally. I convinced him to go for a tour. The Windmill was awesome at accommodating a private tour of the venue. His whole entire family who was extremely skeptical immediately fell in love. A few days later, without looking at any other venues, we had booked our wedding. We went to our second open house and were able to plan our whole entire wedding in one day (catering, flowers, photographers, cake, etc). It was STRESS FREE! Six months out from the day of the wedding, our wedding coordinated Shauna contacted us. She is AMAZING. I could email her at any hour of the day and she would immediately respond with the answers to my questions. They truly made being a bride enjoyable because I did not have the stress of the planning that most brides do. The day of our wedding was absolutely magical. I never felt one ounce of stress because I knew everything would be taken care of and it was. Our day of coordinator, Katie was AMAZING. She made sure that every little detail was there. Not only did my guests rave about how seamless our wedding was, but they raved about the venue, the food, the dessert and most of all the fun that we had. Not one person complained about the drive from Phoenix. My advice to any bride would be to get married at the Windmill, you will not find anywhere better, it is absolutely gorgeous. It seems like you are getting quite a lot for your money but you wont. There are many hidden charges and not everything you see in the walkthrough is included. There is often a \"small fee\" for decorations. Along with that, you will have to pay if you want appetizers or a nice cake even though catering an cake is included in the package. Also, there is a long list of things that are not allowed and everything needs to be out of the venue on time or there is another charge. We went to take a tour to look at the barn and yes it was beautiful. But when they showed us the Lake House in back we instantly fell in love. We just knew this would be perfect. Come wedding day all of our guest kept complimenting us on how beautiful the venue was. We did have Kathy from Something old Something Older decorate the venue. It turned out beautifully. Our wedding coordinator Daleen was amazing and kept us on schedule, she was on top of everything! We are so grateful for her. Most of the vendors included in the package were great such as; Gold Star Catering and Ellagant Entertainment. We also had outside vendors who were preferred by the Windmill such as; Something Old Something Older and Vintage photo booth rentals who we loved both very much. Only issues we had were they do not allow rehearsals on Fridays, which would have been better since the majority of our wedding party was from out of town. We also were disappointed for all the little things they charged. We weren't too happy on how our cake(which we had to pay extra for) and cupcakes turned out by GiGi Cupcakes. Maria Quatse(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2015 Our Windmill Winery Lakehouse wedding was wonderful. I don’t want any of the Cons below to overshadow that fact. Recommended vendors and employees work together seamlessly. Our wedding day was so beautiful, both my husband and I are happy we chose the Windmill Winery. If anything went wrong, neither of us knew!\rPro’s:\r-If you’re looking for a unique venue that serves a small intimate guest count (we had 45) the Lakehouse is a perfect place. We had a ton of trouble finding a venue to fit our small size wedding, and the Windmill is a beautiful place that incorporates rustic, shabby chic elements complete with tractors, old cars, etc.\r-Since this venue comes with the DJ, cake, catering, and wedding coordinator, I do believe it is very cost effective for the Arizona area. We looked at many venues and I do think for what I paid (note—base price only) it is reasonable. \r-Daleen my wedding coordinator that came with the venue, was very attentive. I am extremely detail oriented and I probably send over 150 emails to her over the course during my 7-month planning process. She answered all of them in a very timely manner. \r-Everyone, and I mean every single person I interacted with from beginning to end (even the accountant) were very very friendly, and accommodating (except for note below…). \r-The Windmill Winery does have a very nice set-up with the local Holiday Inn, and the shuttle service provided was convenient for my guests.\rCon’s:\r-My biggest complaint was how the food poisoning incident that occurred at the Windmill Winery was handled by the owner, Harold. My finance and I attended the bridal fair when the incident occurred and we both got food poisoning. Not knowing the cause of our symptoms, I went to the doctor and subsequently missed two days of work. The Windmill Winery never made any attempt to notify us that an incident of food poisoning had occurred at the bridal fair we attended. We instead heard it on the news. Ouch. Anyways, I placed a call into Harold, the owner. He tried to put most, if not all, the blame on the caterer. The way I see it was that it was his kitchen that was built on his property, and that he should take responsibility for it. When I asked for some sort of compensation for inconvenience and missed workdays, he refused and instead said something along the lines of “we have something special planned for those who were affected by the food poisoning incident”. After that conversation, I never heard anything from Harold or the Windmill Winery regarding the incident. I am not looking for handouts, but was disappointed at his lack of response in contacting the guests that were there at the bridal fair, and then declining to make amends in any way. Even something small like offering to throw in the $150 beer donkey to our wedding package would have gone a long way toward making it right.\r-Be careful of the add-on list. It can add up quickly. I did rent an antique car for the night so I could have more photo opportunities, and then water service prior to the ceremony, etc. Even to re-arrange the chairs in a semi-circle costs extra money (per chair, too).\r-My one-time face to face with Daleen, the venue-provided wedding coordinator felt very rushed. I was allowed one hour with her. Reviewed on 03-11-2015

It fit exactly what my husband and I were looking for as a place to celebrate our union with family and friends. It was low-key, relaxed and a little rustic. And since we were having the wedding and reception at the Lake House, we were able to meld a little New England-ish vibe (my husband was living in Connecticut at the time) with the southwest desert, making the venue even more appealing to us.\r\rAnd the staff: they were fantastic! Everyone I met at the winery was very down-to-earth and extremely easy to work with. Our coordinator Shauna was wonderful. I feel if I'm paying around $17,000 for 100 people, this is more than enough to hire a cleaning crew to rearrange furniture back to appropriate spots. I was at another wedding at the windmill winery and they were sticklers about this too so I know they are all trained to say this. Something silly I know. Otherwise the day was perfect. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. Mitzi, our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to make our day special. Also made sure we always had full beers! Even though it's considered far away for some people (Florence), I recommend making the trip out to see it in person! The lake house (where I got married) is beautiful and pictures just do not do it justice! Shauna was our coordinator and was there for me through the entire process, I was able to call and talk to her about whatever I needed and she was always available to lend advice. Day of the wedding she was everywhere at once and made sure the ceremony went perfect and my guests and I never needed for anything. The vendors that come with the package (which I would say is a deal) were all amazing! Our caterer, chef Ed, had an amazing display which only added to the beauty of the venue (I had to do very little decorating!) and his food was delicious! Our dj was Will who comes with the package and he was so much fun! By the end of the night he was like a long lost friend! Our entire experience was amazing! Our guests are still telling us how awesome everything was from the location to the food! Thank you to the windmill winery and their staff! Reviewed on 11-10-2014
Emily Meduvsky(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-10-2014 Our wedding on 9/27/14 was an amazing experience despite the possibility of bad weather. We were scheduled to have our wedding out by the brick arches and the reception in the barn, but dust and lightening rolled in moving the ceremony to the barn. Mitzy was great about keeping us in the loop and worked hard to give us a great wedding day regardless of the weather. She was always on top of things and Sheryl from Simply Beautiful helped to make the barn look amazing. Our guests loved the decor, the food, the lighting, and the DJ. I am so happy with the Windmill Winery, and their vendors were all great. My husband and I would definitely recommend them to others who want a rustic and beautiful setting for their wedding. Aly Wood(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-08-2014 We initially really loved the venue at the Windmill Winery because of the Shabby Chic and Barn decor, but the more we worked with the staff at the venue we loved it even more! The prices were right in our budget and the vendors they partner with were incredible as well! The staff were so friendly and helped answer any questions leading up to the wedding day. On the day of the wedding they worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly and how we wanted it to. They were so flexible and we had the best experience. All of our guests raved about the decor, dj, food, etc. and how organized it all played out. Would recommend this venue to all!! Reviewed on 05-10-2014
Tiffany Fales(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-08-2014 When deciding where to have your wedding and reception you cannot go wrong with the Windmill Winery. I planned my wedding from out of state and the whole process could not have been easier. We booked the Lake House at the Windmill Winery before it was even finished being built so I never saw the final product till about 2 months before our wedding when we finally made it to an open house. The open houses are great as you get to meet all the vendors in person. I will say that because I had already booked with them by the time I got to actually go to an open house I felt like I didn't receive the same attention as all the potential bookers at the open house. The package vendors that come with booking here are for cake, dj and caterer. There is only one vendor for dj and he was already booked at the other Windmill venue but they were able to recommend another dj to me that worked out great. My onsite coordinator was Shauna and she was awesome. We communicated mostly through email. She always got back to me right away. The Lake House is stunning. I couldn't of imagined a better venue. Our guests all had a great time and heard nothing but complements. Shauna kept everything on track and I didn't feel like I needed to remember this or that on our wedding day because she was my brain that day. Reviewed on 19-09-2014
Rosa Lizcano(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-04-2014 Our wedding on 4/12/14 was amazing! Our guest were in aw! At first everyone was curious why we decided to have our wedding in the middle of nowhere Florence,az. But come wedding day, \"this is a gem\" Our wedding coordinator was amazing and kept us on schedule, she was on top of everything! We were served by hand and foot! I would highly recommend this venue to future brides looking for a rustic wedding. We had our wedding ceremony outdoors by the brick arches (beautiful) and our reception was held inside the barn! i know your thinking barn!? trust me its not your ordinary barn! Jessica (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-02-2014 Love, love, loved The Windmill Winery! The setting was perfect for our outdoor rustic wedding. They provide a day of coordinator, who was a huge help. I did not have to worry about a thing. Although, I wish I would have had my rehearsal on-site. They do not allow rehearsals on Fridays, which was the only day that would have worked for me. Our wedding party was mostly people from out of town. I was disappointed for all the little things they charged for. I wanted to have my ceremony chairs angled but they wanted to charge .50 cents per chair. I did not understand that. However, they were very accommodating. The most vendors included in the package were great. I was disappointed that the caterer forgot to leave us desert plates and forks. Thank goodness for the on-site coordinator she found us plates and forks to enjoy our cake. I would recommend this venue. Reviewed on 06-03-2014
Kayla Odle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-11-2013 I loved having my wedding at the windmill winery. The scenery is so perfect that it will take your breath away! Every time I visited for an open house I got more excited about having my wedding there. The only thing was the people are kind of hard to work with. We tried to do our wedding at a lower cost and it seemed like they didn't want to help us because we weren't one of their more expensive clients or spending money on the upgrades. But if you're up for planning and coordinating everything on your own it is worth it for the beautiful venue! Reviewed on 22-11-2013
Kelly Berntson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-11-2013 I just want to give a huge thanks to Karen our coordinator!!! She was amazing!! Without her I think this wedding process would of been a very stressful time instead it was one of the easiest processes I have went through :) The Winery is just beautiful!! The first time I saw pictures I knew it was where I wanted to get married. I do not regret my decision one bit!! The process of attending the open house to be able to try the food and cake, meet the DJs all at once definitely makes the process of getting married very easy :) even found our florist at the open house Sarah's Garden who was wonderful to work with and our flowers were absolutely beautiful! Our DJ Joel Gibbs was also great!!! He really kept everyone entertained even had guests ask for his information after the wedding for future weddings :) the catering company Gold Star Catering and Lesley's creative cakes were also amazing to work with everyone loved the food and cake! All of our guests told us it was one of the best weddings they have ever attended!!! Thank you again to everyone at the Windmill Winery and Karen for making our wedding night perfect! It was a night we will never forget :) Reviewed on 20-11-2013
Kelly Teahan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-09-2013 I fell in love with the Windmill Winery the day I saw it. The property is gorgeous and its different than any other venue in Arizona. The team was AMAZING and on top of it. Karen was phenomenal and even took extra time to meet up with us a couple of days prior to the wedding and follows up with you immediately. It was nice not to have to worry about how our day was going to turn out when you have so many other items on your plate. \rI was worried that the drive would be too much for our guests, but they were thrilled once they got there. Many of our guests stayed at the hotel up the road which helped make it convenient and we got to enjoy breakfast with them the next morning. \rNow that we have our pictures back I cannot help but rave about this venue. Our backdrop is amazing and all of our guests are having a blast. The DJ choice they have is also top notch....my guests raved about him!\rI work in the service industry and set high standards for how customers should be treated and I am happy to say that the Windmill Winery exceeded all of my expectations.\r Reviewed on 16-11-2013
Caitlin Miller(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-10-2013 First, I fell in love with this place the moment I saw it. It was exactly what I had imagined when I pictured my wedding day. Our ceremony site was the twisted tree and then had the reception at the Big Barn. Both were gorgeous and well maintained. But most of all their staff was AMAZING! Everyone was very helpful and I could always email and call them if something came up. They kept the night flowing without a hitch. Shauna was my coordinator there and was so nice and helpful! I had such an amazing night here and would recommend them to everyone! Reviewed on 04-11-2013
Sabrina Siller(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2013 I booked the winery because it is beautiful once you step on the property. We got married at the brick arches and had our reception in the red barn. They did work with us to help it fit our budget, but it did get a little pricey if you want the upgrades that make it look great like at their open house. It did help to remove some of the items in the original package though in order to have the upgrades I wanted. \r\rThey recommend vendors in your package. I used the recommended dj, cake and caterer. I loved two of the three vendors. My DJ was Joel Gibbs and my caterer was Gold Star catering. Both were phenomenal!! I cannot say the same for Lesley's Creative Cakes. I don't understand why they recommend her because she is very unprofessional and really doesn't do a good job. I would use your own cake person. More information on vendors can be found in their own reviews. \r\rThey switched onsite coordinators in the middle of my planning which was pretty stressful to me because I wasn't sure what the new coordinator knew and if they'd honor the same things that the other coordinator said. Although i know they tried, there were a few things wrong/missed the day of my wedding that was told would be done by my coordinator day of, but not a lot i could do when I'm running around myself. I don't sweat the small stuff, but if you are a person that likes everything perfect down to the detail it wasn't great. Karen did come through in the end for me and at least got us married. \r\rAt the end of the day if you want a pretty venue with an affordable price I would recommend them. I still loved my wedding and was happy with where i got married. Hope this helps!! Reviewed on 31-08-2013

Although Florence is not the most beautiful or reputable town, the windmill winery itself is a gorgeous oasis. The windmill owners are extremely pleasant and welcoming. Czarina (our on-site coordinator) was on-point with every detail. We currently live in Sydney, Australia, and she was kind enough to Skype with us across continents to ensure that every aspect of our wedding would be covered. Debra Elliott(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2012 We had a small wedding (50 ppl) in June in AZ. We had both the ceremony and the reception in the barn. When one thinks of wedding they do not neccessarily think of a barn, but this was beautiful, simple and elegant. A bit out of the city but worth the drive. We did have a couple of issues with the bar tab. Just confirm when the open bar starts, they waited until we were done with pictures and I wanted it to start right away. Nothing to huge, just some miscommunication. This is no cookie cutter place, I really felt like this was specific to our wants. Everyone was very helpful and nice. I would absolutely recommend this venue if your looking for something outside of a church or a hotel. Plus the outside ceremony site was beautiful (even though we did not use it) we did get some great photos. Reviewed on 10-07-2012
