The Woods Event Center is a premier wedding venue in Robinson, IL. Located next to the picturesque Crawford County Forest Preserve and just south of the Oak Glen Golf Course, this delightfully rustic venue is a warm, welcoming place where you can slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy every magical moment to the fullest. This venue is the perfect setting for a relaxing and unforgettable wedding ceremony and/or reception. The Woods features eight verdant acres and a remarkable, climate-controlled event space that can accommodate 150 people on the main floor and an additional 150 guests in the three-sided loft. A wall of windows admits an abundance of soft, natural light and also affords breathtaking views of the lush Forest Preserve. The building also includes 2 cozy en-suites for both sides of your wedding party, a large stage for your ceremony, a catering prep area with a separate service entry, parking attendant with a golf cart shuttle, and ADA-compliant restrooms on the main floor. So thankful to have been able to have our wedding at this beautiful venue! They were very easy to work with. Aside from the beautiful venue and scenery itself the workers were my favorite part. They all treat you like family on your big day and anytime you see them after. During the big day Sarah was excellent at working with us on the rehearsal and on the wedding day for telling us all when to walk out and having good communication. My most thankful thing though was that I was standing outside the door ready to walk in and I realized I forgot my bouquet, so Koert very quickly ran back in to get my bouquet because I would not of been able to go grab it with the dress in a quick manor. If I had to do it over again I’d pick this venue over and over and will continue to use the venue for future celebrations.

The Woods could not have been more perfect for our special day. The owners worked with us directly to find how they could best support us. The set up tables, chairs, and even allowed us to use furniture they had on site! Not to mention the fact that they were on-site day of to assist with anything they could. Their staff was incredibly kind and helpful. One man on staff (I’m sorry I didn’t get his name!) even drove us around on a golf cart while we took pictures outside and helped our catering crew clear trash. Their catering kitchen is HUGE (much bigger, more accessible, and way better laid out than most venue kitchen spaces), so your vendors will love it. Lots of great places to take photos inside as well, both on the event side and the bar side if you choose to rent that out as well (I highly recommend it - it’s a great space to hold a cocktail hour). Koert and Sarah really thought of every detail and have the drive and motivation to make sure that everything is executed to perfection. The space is gorgeous on its own, but is also extremely adaptable for whatever season/decor style you choose. We were married a week before Christmas, and the space felt extremely cozy. Thank you, The Woods Event Center, for hosting us with such a great space. I recommend you to everyone I know!

Koert & Sarah Mehler (Owner) Koert & Sarah Mehler are the proud owners of The Woods Event Center. We recently married in October 2020. Our wedding day was not as perfect as it could have been due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we then began the journey of creating The Woods Event Center. With that in mind, we are motivated to provide you with the most perfect and magical day possible! We will go above and beyond to accommodate you to ensure your special day is flawless!
