Third Degree Glass Factory was a beautiful venue and a space that my husband and I would 100% recommend for a wedding reception! When we first began looking at venues in the St. Louis area, our goal was to find a beautiful space that offered a memorable experience for our guests within our budget and TDGF fit our needs perfectly. TDGF was responsive and upfront in the quoting process and gave us a clear idea on what our reception would look like. We began working with Jessica when we first signed our contract and Brooke joined the team about five months before our event. Both Jessica and Brooke worked well within their communications portal and were able to provide thoughtful insights to the needs of our wedding reception. One thing to consider, TDGF was still going through a few updates between when we first set our reception date and when our reception was held. This included some wonderful surprises including beautiful high-top tables that matched the bar and new overhead spotlights that allowed for our band to be ‘featured’ a bit more. They also had a couple of items in our contract that were subject to availability such as colored glass centerpieces (which are no longer available), and specific artist's capabilities for glass pieces. These changes did not materially impact our evening, but if you want to adhere to a strict vision, be sure to make TDGF aware of your requests. They are continuing to build out their event experience and we expect that the space will get even better! The space itself is open, with beautiful exposed brick, glass pieces arranged on walls and hung from the ceiling, and a full on ‘hot shop’ which married an industrial environment with a beautiful canvas upon which we could compose our reception. Our evening included a cocktail hour, unity ceremony, seated dinner, and a live band for 140 guests and the space worked exceptionally well. The large banquet hall had plenty of space, but never felt cavernous for a plated dinner and large dance floor. The glass gallery made for a wonderful setting to have our unity ceremony and cocktail hour—getting to see seasonal art pieces was super unique. The outdoor space was lovely and provided guests with a great place to grab a bit of fresh air and a quiet space over the course of the evening. We had guests coming up to us asking ‘how did you find this place?!’ and ‘I didn’t know something this cool existed!’ The space is open enough to add your own design touch, but is complete enough that you don’t need to do much to make the space feel special. A highlight of the space is the optional live glass demonstration. We had guests coming up to us throughout the evening telling us how special it was to witness a piece of art being created. It complemented our cocktail hour after our unity ceremony. The way Allison runs the bar program at TDGF is also exceptional. We had two signature cocktails as well as a full bar—the cocktails were well mixed and folks hardly had to wait to get a drink. Their quality and variety of spirits rival standalone bars. TDGF feels like they have invested in an excellent bar program and it shows! We had a seamless experience working with our vendors and the run of show was well put together and easy to follow. The evening of our reception went off without a hitch and Brooke was incredibly responsive through the process. TDGF is evolving for the better and making strides to be the premier event space of St. Louis. Book them now while you still can! Reviewed on 18-11-2023

When we sought out a wedding venue we knew we wanted someplace that came with its own beauty so an art studio was a natural choice. The gorgeous glass gallery makes an amazing space for the cocktail hour and every space is decorated with beautiful art. The glassblowing demonstration was super memorable for our guests, too. Working with the team was overall a good experience. There were times we had some confusion in communication with people changing roles but the team at Third Degree never dropped the ball and they made sure we were taken care of. They worked smoothly with our wedding coordinators and really helped get all the little details in place. They have done many weddings and know what they're doing but don't force a certain flow or format on you - you can do whatever you want but they also were happy to use their experience when we said \"uhhh, whatever usually works!\" The pricing is reasonable for what's included. I liked that we could do linens, centerpieces, table numbers, and beverages all through the venue and trust their staff to take care of those for us.Our guests still talk about how cool the venue was and I totally agree! We also have a beautiful piece of glass art to commemorate the occasion. Reviewed on 22-08-2023

If you’re looking for an affordable, but gorgeous venue in the St. Louis area, look no further! The space itself is beautiful with exposed brick, polished concrete floors and custom artwork and is extremely versatile. You can keep it simple or glam it up as much as you want. (We kept it simple and it was still a fairytale). We had a wonderful experience with Jessica and her staff! They helped walk us through the experience from start to finish, providing insight and expertise on design, floor plans, vendors, bar packages, etc. With their help, we were able to have the wedding day of our dreams without breaking the bank. Skye Peters(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-06-2019 My experience with Third Degree Glass Factory had both pros and cons. First off though, TDGF is an absolutely gorgeous and unique venue. It was exactly what I was looking for, as I didn't want the typical wedding, and my guests were raving about it for weeks after our big day. We had games and a s'mores bar going on outside, a live demonstration happening inside, and then we had glass frit to use for a union during our ceremony. That frit was turned into a beautiful glass vase to remember the day forever! They were also willing to work with us in case of bad weather for our outdoor ceremony located elsewhere (luckily the rain went around us), and they even snuck a cute ornament onto our gift table that was so thoughtful and made us smile when we were going through gifts the next day! Everyone was super nice and friendly to work with, as well. Unfortunately, we had a few things happen that diminished my overall experience. First, when we signed our contract, we were told the construction they were getting ready to start would be completed at least a month before our wedding. It wasn't over by our wedding, and that wasn't communicated to us until relatively close to our wedding date. I didn't care so much about the appearance, but it did change our floor plan and made it difficult for my older guests to get in. During the planning process, there were a few times where my wedding was confused with another bride's wedding. Not a huge deal, but made for some added stress in my life with the confusion of wrong details/pricing. There were also a few rental items and glass items where the price was shown differently in different locations, which was a bit confusing, but they did honor the original rental prices in my contract. Prior to our wedding, I checked out their audio system for playing our own playlist as I was told other weddings have used it with no problems. It seemed loud and clear, but on the day of the wedding, the music was incredibly low and hard to hear. I would suggest bringing your own equipment because that was definitely something I regret. I will say though, the sound system was great for the speeches. My biggest complaint was the fact that our reception was supposed to go until 10 PM, at which point they would start tearing down. Well they started tearing down at 9 PM instead, so a lot of people thought it was over and left. By the time I noticed what was going on, my super friendly midwestern aunts and uncles were helping the staff pack things up. A wedding already flies by quickly, and to have one of the hours I paid for seem to disappear, well that was pretty disappointing. So overall, if you're looking for a beautiful venue where your guests will experience something unique and have a blast, Third Degree Glass Factory is a great option for that. Just be aware that you may run into some snags along the way. I also don't plan on letting these few negative things that happened keep me from visiting in the future because TDGF has a lot of other things to offer the community, too. Reviewed on 15-02-2020

It's a really affordable venue and getting married on a Sunday helped us save around $1,500! The bar packages can be easily altered to add whatever beer/wine/liquors you want so everyone got the drink they were looking for. The space itself is so unique and cool, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The glass artwork is beautiful to look at and we added the glass blowing demonstration that our party really enjoyed. Amanda Klingler(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-04-2018 Choosing Third Degree as our wedding and reception venue was the best decision we made when wedding planning. There are so many things that we just loved about Third Degree that it is hard to fit all of them in a review. First, Rachel was incredibly helpful along the way and helped us with the whole wedding process. She was quick to answer any questions we had and offer suggestions and tips to make the planning less overwhelming. On the day of, Tracey and the rest of the staff made sure things ran smoothly. Second, the venue is beautiful and unique. We loved that we had the option to do something totally different from other weddings we attended. We opted to do the glass pouring ceremony and then the glass blowing demo during our cocktail hour. Our guests were blown away by the demo. Not only was it such a cool way to pass the time (while the wonderful staff flipped the room for the reception), but we have a beautiful vase that we get to keep as a reminder of our special day. SO cool! Third, it is a truly memorable venue. Guests will be in awe of how beautiful it all is (right down to the bathrooms). We have had so many people who attended our wedding tell us that they have gone back to Third Degree to purchase things from the gallery or take classes. Jennifer Lewis(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-09-2017 I recently had my wedding here and it was poorly executed. I had chosen the place because it was a unique venue but that’s about where it stops. I worked with a coordinator. I thought she may be there that evening, as I was working with someone else originally. I was wrong, Cassidy, would be the person in charge. I was assured that she was great. However, this is how my evening went and if you don’t want to read anything else make sure to read number 5:1.\tI was informed that the black curtains leading to the glass area would be drawn so people would not be able to get back there. I also assumed (my fault I know) that that was where the bridal party was supposed to go. Well, when we get there the curtains were not drawn and there were a couple of people back there. So I was standing with my guests for a couple of moments while people tried to usher the guests out. Cassidy came up and asked why I wasn’t in the bridal suite. What there’s a bridal suite…2.\tThis didn’t bother me, but it did my husband. They do not lock the back door so people were coming in while we’re trying to process down the aisle. They waited, but otherwise they would’ve be processing down with us.3.\tThey scheduled our cake delivery to be at 7. Cake cutting was also at 7. Vendors should arrive before event starts.4.\tOur event ended at 10:30. For the last half hour we had alcohol per consumption. The most expensive drink was $7. We had a total of 120 guests in attendance. By most had left. For that half hour our tab was $1,100.00. Impressive that people can drink that much in 30 minutes. 5.\tI know that these are the things that we should laugh about after the event and we may, but not the following. In our planning meetings we went over diagrams. I told the coordinator that I had different numbering for the parents and then the rest of the tables would be 2- whatever. I sent them a few diagrams and even included a diagram in the setup packet (they were setting up the room). Our guest table linens were white and our head table (same style as guest) had a green linen to distinguish it from the rest. So, cocktail hour is over and the guest are seated. We’re about to be introduced when someone announces there are people sitting at the head table. I look over and there is my family sitting at the head table. I’m mad. I told them not to move my family, but to let the wedding party know where to go. But no, they move my family. They move the man (my dad) who paid for this whole event to the back of the room. We get to our table and I ask my husband where his family is and he tells me right next to my family. Because Cassidy did not follow the diagram, our families and other important guests were the people furthest from us. And she even had the audacity, halfway through the night to come up to me and say, “If I had just flipped to the last page, I would’ve seen it.” Not the appropriate apology to someone who is irate. Later I find out that table 6, who was supposed to have ten chairs (told verbally and also on a diagram), only had 8 which added fuel to the flame that was almost out. Use them if you want. It’s a beautiful venue. But make sure whoever is in your meetings is planning on being there that night. Because that’s the part I remember the most from my wedding. They did call and apologize after and also refunded the $150 set up fee. So I’ll give them that. Reviewed on 05-10-2017

The people are incredible to work with and were so flexible and willing to go to great lengths to help us!! The staff working the reception were all so nice and helpful. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful! It is filled with gorgeous glass blown by the local artists. It has a fun feel to the venue and even has a cute little patio available with table and chairs and cute bistro lighting. One of the things I was most thankful for was the bride's room. They had just a small room with a toilet and sink available for me to keep my belongings and also use the restroom with plenty of room to move around in my wedding dress! Tracey was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. We could not find the flowers for the bouquet tosses so was about to get on a ladder in the middle of the reception to make it work for us! Every inch of TDGF is gorgeous and made our day that much more special. Our guest could not stop complimenting how amazing the venue. We did have the glass blowing demonstration in our cocktail hour, just wonderful! We did our ceremony and reception both at TDGF and it wasn't even a question that we wanted it there. Taylor Jackson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-06-2017 For my partner and I, finding a beautiful reception venue was one of our top priorities. We had a unique, non traditional vision for our wedding, and our ceremony was private, making the reception that much more important for us and our guests! The minute we toured Third Degree, we fell in love. The venue and its staff were helpful and flexible, and the venue itself was a beautiful backdrop for our reception. However, perhaps the best thing about Third Degree is the Event Coordination staff. When, the week before the wedding, we found out we wouldn't be able to set up when we thought we could, the Staff offered to set everything up for us and have it waiting when the reception started. It turned out beautiful, and everything was exactly the way we had wanted it. Britta Anderson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-10-2016 I used to live near Third Degree and was familiar with the venue from their Third Fridays open houses, which meant that they were immediately on my wedding venue list when we got engaged. We still live in the CWE and knew our guests would love the neighborhood, so it was really obvious to us that we should book them! We're so glad that we did - the staff at TDGF does a fantastic job coordinating all of your vendors and making your life easier. I was able to mostly relax and hang out with my family, which was really important to me.We had both our ceremony and reception there and ended up with about 80 guests. Despite the advertised capacity being larger than that, the venue didn't feel too sparse at all - we had our ceremony in the smaller gallery and dinner/dancing in the larger one. We rented glass centerpieces and had the staff at TDGF set up for the reception (table cards, etc.), which was a really inexpensive addition and super convenient for us. I would definitely recommend this! The whole venue looked amazing, and it was almost effortless for me. :)We had a glass blowing demonstration during cocktail hour and used the fire pit outside after dinner, and both of these were really well-liked by our guests. The guys who do the demo make it really fun to watch! I'm really happy that we bought the piece that they made. It's beautiful and will be a great reminder of a fun day! Many of our guests also bought pieces while they were there and had them shipped home, which was a really nice touch. The bar service there was also fantastic. We chose the middle-range open bar package and had a couple of special additions (nice whiskey) to the bar, and that was completely seamless to do. The bar staff were awesome during the reception - they were so pleasant and helpful, and they made sure I always had a drink in my hand (thanks, guys!). Our guests had only positive things to say about them and had a great time at the reception.I would hands-down choose Third Degree if I had to do this all over again. Lots of my friends and family said I was 'too calm' in the days leading up to the wedding, but I think it really had a lot to do with how capable and organized Rachel and Tracey at TDGF are. Danielle DuRousseau(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-06-2016 We went with Third Degree Glass Factory because they were one of the only places that allowed outside caterers. We knew we wanted Pappy's to cater, and since Third Degree has a great relationship with them, it was a no-brainer. In addition, the venue itself was very unique and beautiful. Exposed brick, concrete floors, and colorful glass displays which all photograph nicely. We had a band, so it was nice that the room was broken up into three different spaces--the band/dinner/dancing room, the cocktail room, and the patio. I heard numerous guests saying how much they liked that they could move around if they wanted a break from dancing or if they just wanted to socialize outdoors. We also hired the Photo Bus, and they also have an existing relationship with Third Degree, so they already knew Rachel and how to set up/where to set up. It made things go smoothly. Rachel was also outstanding to work with. She is top notch and great at her job. I was concerned about space for our guests (we had 160 which was perfect) and whether a large band like The Charles Glenn Group would be able to have room to set up and have a dance floor. She assured me it would all work out, AND IT DID! It was awesome. My husband and I decided to break down 4 tables after dinner to make even more room for dancing because our crowd loves to dance. It worked out flawlessly, and I am SO glad we did it. Lastly, we didn't opt to do a glass ceremony, but we did commission two wine glasses and a bowl (we picked the colors) and had them made and delivered for the reception. We loved drinking and toasting out of the glasses during dinner, and it's nice to have pieces to keep in our home to remind us of the fun we had that day. Reviewed on 28-06-2016

We knew that having our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one spot would make our day easier and more laid back. Working with Rachel through the planning was a breeze, even when we had special requests for our timeline, layout, and bar options. She was very responsive and timely in communicating with us when we had questions or concerns, and she was willing to meet with us multiple times to work out all the details. We opted for the glass ceremony and had a glass-blowing demonstration during our cocktail hour. It was amazing; our friends and family cannot stop talking about it. The commissioned glass piece that we received is something we will cherish forever as a reminder of our union and that amazing day. The TDGF staff worked with our coordinator to flip the East Gallery from ceremony floor plan to the reception floor plan in record time, allowing my husband and I to see the reception space before the guests did and our photographer time to get all the detail shots. Jenny was our day-of on-site contact and she worked tirelessly with our coordinator and other vendors. The timing of the ceremony and reception was smooth; everything happened seamlessly. Third Degree even offers to clean up post-reception for a very small fee, and the convenience of being able to leave at the end of the night was the priceless. It is such a unique space, which is hard to come by for wedding venues. Everyone commented on how neat, fun, and beautiful it was -- all without us having to do much decorating because the glass pieces and exposed brick walls are already great touches. We did the glass ceremony and demonstration, which felt rather expensive when looking at the amount in the contract but ended up being a great filler during the cocktail hour and something memorable for our guests. We enjoyed working with Rachel -- she was responsive over email and phone (which was very important since we were planning from out of state), and explained everything to us multiple times when needed. She also seemed to work well when coordinating with our day-of planner and other vendors. Marian Klemm(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-06-2013 This is not the typical reception site. It is industrial looking with concrete floors because it is a hotshop and gallery and they blow glass there. I had my reception there and it was wonderful. I had a glass blowing demonstration which the guests enjoyed and had my wedding party make paperweights which they loved. The glass art everywhere was beautiful and they let me use their glass art for my centerpieces. They let me put votive candles around the art and it made for cheap, easy, and beautiful centerpieces. The event coordinator Rachael was very nice and responded quickly to emails (which I used as the primary form of communication). I let her design the floor plan and it worked wonderfully. The rental included black padded chairs and tables so not having to rent those saved me a good deal of money. I could have rented linens from them as well for an extra fee but I chose to get them from the caterer instead (their prices were comparable). We also hired fire spinners through the glass factory to perform but they did not show. Rachael tried very hard to get ahold of them and was very apologetic. The error was the fire spinning group's error and not hers. They forgot to hit save when they added my wedding to their calendar so they double booked the date and showed up to the other event instead of mine. Rachael made up for their mistake with free glass ornaments, a refund for their performance cost, and a free glass experience class for my husband and I. We haven't gone to the class yet but I'm sure it will be just as fun as making paperweights was (and that was a lot of fun). Rachael also coordinated well with my caterer. I chose a cash bar (my caterer provided coffee, tea, lemonade, and water) but I heard the drinks were kind of expensive so if your guests are drinkers I would recommend chosing an open bar. We didn't chose the open bar because we were on a limited budget. I highly recommend the glass factory. They were unique, entertaining, helpful, and of course the site was beautiful. If you are considering them I recommend going to one of their Third Friday events. The info is on their website. We went to one to check them out and it was a ton of fun. Reviewed on 07-07-2013

Sarah Gill(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2012 We got married at the Third Degree Glass Factory in August 2012 and it was unique and memorable venue space. We were looking for something other than a hotel ballroom that guests would remember. The Third Degree Glass Factory definitely set the mood for a fun and festive event. We had our ceremony and reception in the space. Guests watch a glass blowing demonstration during the cocktail hour and we had a fire spinning performance during the reception. Rachael, the coordinator for the venue, was always responsive and helpful and provided us with good information and suggestions. It was a pleasure working with her throughout the process. \r\rWe did have an initial wedding date that we picked and were ready to secure but the coordinator went out of town. While she was out, someone else from Third Degree booked our date. That was a bit of a disappointment but they worked with us and provided a make-good and everything worked out.\r\rAreas for improvement - for those hosting a ceremony, the waiting space for the bride and bridal party isn't ideal and there isn't a set space for a cocktail hour if you are having the room flipped from ceremony to space for food service. Depending on how many people you have and how you set it up there isn't an opportunity for a \"big reveal\" of the reception space because everyone walks past it to get to the ceremony. That wasn't important for us but just some things to think about. \r\rOur event was fabulous and we're so happy we hosted it at Third Degree. Reviewed on 11-09-2012
Haley Barteau(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-06-2011 Very neat venue. We didn't decorate at all and it still looked fantastic. They allow any catering you'd like, so we went with a local Mexican place that's one of our favorites. We did have to rent some items not provided. the bar is a little expensive, but we made up for it with the price of food. The glass blowing at the wedding was awesome and they even allowed my husband and I to make a different item for ourselves. Very accomodating staff. Can't say how great Rachel was through the whole process. Reviewed on 02-08-2011
Megan Dwyer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-11-2010 We had our wedding reception at Third Degree in Nov. 2010 and we were so impressed with the location and with the staff. We had 260 people at our reception and the staff made sure that everything was just as we wanted it. Our guests were very impressed with the location and the unique environment...it is still a hidden treasure in the city. We did the glass blowing demo during our cocktail hour and the guests loved it. They also have security on staff which gave a bit more peace of mind, considering the locale. \rHands down, a wonderful location for something a little bit different than your standard banquet hall without giving up any of the ammenities! Kristin Sidlo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-10-2010 This is one of the greatest places for a reception. It's not very well known yet but becoming more popular each year. Nothing bad to say about Third Degree! It is simply perfect. Reviewed on 09-11-2010
Diane Hartke(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2006 it was extremely unique. we had a glass blowing demonstration during the party. i dont know of anyone else who had that at their reception.;i didnt like the tip jar on the bar. felt it was tacky. we tipped the bartender very well. there was no need to solicit tips from our guests. also, they had promised their parking lot would be constructed by the time of our reception and it wasnt. it didnt cause any problems but it was a disappointment.
