Haley Ferguson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2020 Thumper pond was great! We mostly worked with Lori and she was so kind and made our wishes/needs a priority - especially amid changing COVID restrictions. There were some things that felt a tad unclear (where to store decorations, clean up the following day, etc.) otherwise the venue is absolutely stunning and easy to work with. Reception and ceremony all in one area and same with lodging. Loved it. Best day of our lives. Reviewed on 11-09-2020

Anonymous D(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-09-2016 Beautiful place, fairly low cost though alcohol is spendy. They are very short staffed so the 2 women they have in charge of all events and weddings never have the time for you in the end and a lot o loose ends are left undone. The polished work came from my own great organization. Our wedding was fairly laid back so the fact that they only partly helpful didn't cause any major problems on the big day. Rachel Brock(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-08-2016 Thumper Pond was great the day of the wedding. They made sure guests were comfortable and the food was great. Leading up to the day, we were frustrated with some of the regulations and policies that limited what we could do. Overall, we were very happy with how our wedding turned out there. It's ideal for out of town guests. Reviewed on 25-08-2016
Lauren Ramos(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-06-2015 We selected this location as our wedding venue and accommodations. It was more like a full service hotel with a golf course than a \"resort.\" One of the leading factors in our decision to select this location was the water park. We have 2 young boys and we knew there would be lots of other children coming to the wedding. We thought this would be great for them as there is nothing otherwise for children within any reasonable distance to the hotel. After months of planning and making our deposit, the entire water park structure collapsed, taking the spa, salon, and everything else that would make this a \"resort\" with it. Our correspondence with the wedding coordinator was flaky at best, but when the structure collapsed, we felt like we were left in the dark almost completely. Unfortunately, we were already almost finished with the entire wedding planning process and were unable to delay the wedding in order to change the venue. We thought that a cataclysmic collapse of this nature would be worthy of a hefty discount but all we got was $20 off each hotel room(about 15 rooms) and more spotty communication. We kind of felt stuck and the property did little to cure our discontent.\rThe hotel itself was average. If you can ignore the massive gaping space where the water park once stood, the hotel entrance was well maintained and welcoming. The front desk staff was warm and efficient during check-in. The bar/restaurant was unremarkable and the menu offerings were quite average. The service here was not akin to what we saw at the front desk. The staff seemed nonchalant and uninterested. The service was not bad, but it was unremarkable. The patio area overlooking the golf course was well taken care of and we very much enjoyed our time eating there as well.\rThe room we stayed in one of the whirlpool suites which was decently appointed save a few minor items. We did not use the whirlpool tub which is located in the living area but it appeared nice enough with the exception of the wooden maintenance hatch on the side that was falling off. The bed was slightly above average and provided decent sleep. The WiFi was decent and thus I have no complaints. The view of the well manicured golf course was excellent when seen from either window in the room. The windows were appointed with drapes but there was no blackout shade which was a slight inconvenience. There was also a gas fireplace we did not use but it seemed to be well maintained. The carpet and furniture in general were dated but not at all unserviceable. The iron provided in the room had a good amount of white hard water residue that required removal prior to letting it touch your clothes. The Venue-\rThe wedding venue was where this hotel shined. The grounds were perfectly manicured and the views were awe inspiring. The golf course green was trimmed and well appointed. The walks were well kept with no visible weeds or trash of any kind. The trees in the area were picture perfect. Clearly they staff a very good landscaping team. Very impressive.\rOverall I would say the wedding venue was the one bright spot that made this hotel a 3/5. We are generally very understanding people but the lack of communication during the entire process from planning our event, to the day of, was quite poor. The poor service recovery effort left quite a bad taste and we will not likely recommend this location to other couples. Reviewed on 07-07-2015
Tasha Olson(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-03-2013 I got Married at Thumper Pond in March. The facilities were absolutely beautiful, but I was not at all impressed with the service. During dinner, the servers would just take plates that were almost full away without asking, so my guest were unable to finish their food. They did the same thing with the drinks throughout the whole night. If you set down your drink, it would disappear, even if it was full. May of my guest complained of loosing their drinks to the servers if the left them to go out on the dance floor. I even had one person who told me that a server came over and took all the drinks off the table and the guest told them that they were not finished. The server simply told them to go get more from the bar, which I did not appreciate because I paid for the drinks. I did not pay for them to be thrown out, but for my guests to enjoy them. I was told that last call would be at 11:45 and guests needed to be out by midnight, which I thought was fine, except that the servers decided to turn on all the lights at 11:15 without asking me and started to clean up. I found this to be very rude, considering the amount of money I paid for the room to be open until midnight. So although I loved the facility and the wedding turned out beautiful, I was not at all impressed with the service that we got. Reviewed on 02-04-2013
Karlie Jo Braun(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2012 Our experience was wonderful at Thumper Pond Resort. The price was well worth the experience. The only thing they need to improve on is their service which wasn't bad at all. At the grooms supper they forgot about the kids meals but they acted quickly to get the meals out to the children once we told them. Also, the lawn service was a little poor for being a golf course. My dad ended up pulling weeds around the gazebo where we got married. Overall, our experience was great! I would recommend Thumper Pond Resort to all interested! Reviewed on 09-10-2012

Met once with an assistant coordinator.\rThey lost the dessert order. so there was no dessert planned.\rNo one contacted us the day before or day of the wedding. No banquet captain was there.\rThe food at the tasting was not the same as what was served in the reception.\rservers couldn't figure out who got what meal choice, even though it was clearly marked on their place cards.\rOver all I was very unhappy with this venue. I expected a lot more from such a beautiful establishment. It seemed like more of a high class place. It was a joke. Reviewed on 12-09-2012
Alyssa Morlock(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2012 Thumper Pond was willing to work with me on the ideas I had for our day. They even allowed my parents to have a surprise fireworks show on the greens that night. Our guests were very pleased with the accommodations and many spent the next day enjoying the water park with their families. The chef/servers did a great job of ensuring my relatives who needed gluten free meals did not have any cross-contamination. Some of the guests said their meals were a little dry, but overall we had a lot of compliments about the day! Reviewed on 25-07-2012

Kristin Christenson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-11-2011 I cannot think of one thing that Thumper Pond could have done better. The staff was excellent, and everything was so well thought out and prepared well. Their attitude was one of 'whatever we can do.' Oftentimes, I wouldn't even get a chance to finish making my request, and the answer was 'yes'.\rVery little work was required ahead of time because the space is so nice that all you need to do for decorations is table centerpieces. The huge glass windows overlooking the golf course and fountain provide the best views and make it an elegant venue - and you don't have to do anything to make it look that way.
