All the amenities right onsite made it an easy, convenient vacation for all. Our vision for a barefoot, boho, beachy wedding came to life perfectly. The Tradewinds team was easy to work with and did an exceptional job making sure the day went smooth with no stress. The atmosphere and sunsets are perfect. Working with the Tradewinds for our special day was the smartest and most wonderful decision ever. Once we chose this vendor they were in contact with us the same day. We were able to set up everything you could possibly imagine right there at the resort. No question went unanswered and the team was beyond professional, thorough, and managed to include details I never would've thought of. My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams thanks to the amazing staff. Cherish ( wedding planner) and Hannah Poff (catering sales manager) truly made me feel like the most relaxed bride. I slept like a baby the night before because they had everything handled far in advance. They were prepared for rain or shine and every detail planned exceeded my expectations. Hannah and other members of the amazing wedding planning team set up and took down every detail I wanted to include. She ensured everything was on time, prepared, and guests knew where to go & when. Our guests said it was the best and most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. From the planning, to the details, to the rehearsal dinner, booking rooms, ceremony, and reception, Tradewinds had it covered. I don't know why anyone would want to get married anywhere else where the events take place in numerous places. At this resort guests have all they need and more. The staff is truly amazing and will make sure your wedding day is treated like the most important event. Highly recommend it for out of towners or in state residents! My husband and I still continue to return to the Tradewinds for our anniversary to visit Hannah and other staff members that made our day/weekend the best of our lives. We are forever grateful! Brittany S(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-12-2022 Don't have your wedding here! Everything about this venue was an issue. From the day of coordinator that they contract, incorrect room charges, to telling me and my vendors (wedding planners and photographers) that there is an actual brial suite and not just a suite, but it was never available for us to see it. Please know that everything turned out okay, and was lovely, but the stress working with this venue caused was beyond unnecessary. I've mentioned a few things below and do my best not to rant so I don't seem like a crank. The bridal suite - is just a regular room with a kitchenette - some of my guests had the same room. If you are okay with not having a bridal suite (e.g. no designated place to get ready; if you don't need more than 3 chairs and a couch; a place to hang your dress) there shouldn't be an issueReception - The room I chose to have my reception in was not guaranteed until 30 days before hand which made planning difficult. Which was not explained to me before booking the resort in January. I actually found out in June when we had the tasting. There was one line in the contract that said something along the lines of - we reserve the right to change your room to best utilize all of the spaces. If I had realized the room I wanted and thought I was booking wouldn't be guaranteed, then I wouldn't have gone there. Absolutely nothing is included which I didn't find out until the 3 weeks leading up to it - such as the arch. For the reception, they do provide chairs that match the carpet, they provide linens (but they aren't floor length), and I think there was an option for basic table decor. Coordinator - Tradewinds has a contract with Driftwood and provides a day of coordinator who you can contract for full wedding planning services. The original coordinator I worked with from there was so dense it felt like it couldn't be real. She didn't listen to anything I said and when I asked about possible vendors, she strongly pushed sister companies which made me second guess their credibility. I ended up hiring my own wedding planner. The woman who replaced her did do well. But at that point I already had a bad taste in my mouth. It is a month later and I am still dealing with room charge issues. Reviewed on 05-01-2023
Jennifer Gifford(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-02-2022 We knew that a destination wedding was perfect for us, but had no idea where to start, but knew we wanted Florida. We found the Tradewinds after a few google searches and set up an initial meeting. After that meeting, we knew that Tradewinds would be perfect for us. Hannah, our coordinator, is simply amazing. She ensured the entire process was as stress free as it could be for us. Planning a wedding in Florida, while living in Nebraska is a lot of work, but she made my planning go smoothly. The day of the wedding, we had a wedding coordinator (Samantha who we also adored) plus Hannah making sure that everything went according to plan. Our day was perfect, the food was top notch and I wish that there was a Tradewinds restaurant in our area because I would eat there all of the time. The backdrop was breathtaking. Becca O(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-02-2022 I can’t say enough about the Tradewinds and its staff. We stayed here for almost a week and our stay was impeccable. Our wedding was held here this past February. Our point of contact Rob was very responsive and helpful while planning our wedding. He was always quick to answer any questions and provided great feedback. The hotel provided a wedding, planner, Cherrish who was fantastic. She made our beach setting look beautiful as well as our reception venue. She facilitated a picture-perfect day. This was the best beachfront resort for our wedding and guests. We had over 33 room booked for our big day. The resort provided a little but of everything for all ages including the kids. Between the Gulf of Mexico, multiple pools, cabanas, huge slide and entertainment provided by the resort everyone had something to do. Our ceremony and reception were both held outside. The Gulf of Mexico was our backdrop for our ceremony, and it was gorgeous. Our reception was held outside and stunning. It was literally a step away from the beach. We had beautiful up lighting on the palm trees, the setting was the idyllic Florida wedding. Next to our reception on the beach we had a big bonfire, smores station and beach games. The weight staff and bartenders were great throughout our stay and at our reception. The food and drinks were terrific, and the bartenders and weight staff really hustled. We received many compliments about the wedding food and bar. The staff, hotel and reception venue really came through for us and made our wedding week and big day just wonderful. Ashley Farrelli(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-02-2021 I was extremely interested in booking this hotel for a ceremony and room block. In my initial contact via the Knot, I was transparent in that it would most likely only be for a room block and ceremony. The hotel sent information my way on ceremony fees and included rates for a reception as well.Due to Covid-19 all had been placed on hold until further notice. I reached out today to see if the dates we were interested in were still available. Great news, they were! At first, George - their director- was extremely excited to speak to me. Once he discovered I was only interested in a ceremony and room block, he said “that I’m sure you understand I can’t reserve a ceremony for you and take away areas for other guests”. He did offer up the sister hotel, Rum Fish but then said I probably wouldn’t want it as there was no back up space. While I appreciate George’s transparency (as he mentioned multiple times), I found him to be slightly condescending and clearly not in want of my money. He also mentioned that there is no courtesy room block and that if I did block rooms, I’d be responsible for paying for all of the rooms - even if they didn’t sell. Fair, it’s a nice hotel and that’s their policy.George isn’t normally the person taking these types of calls, so maybe he wasn’t prepared for my questions. But after 9 years at the hotel (he also mentioned this multiple times), you’d think he’d have better bedside manners. All in all, this is a beautiful hotel where I truly wanted to have a ceremony. George turned me away and made it sound like it was my idea. (It wasn’t) Reviewed on 28-04-2020

Maria Slater was our contact and she was so professional and prompt with the millions of questions we bombarded her with. She (and our planner from Driftwood) made the planning as stress free as it could be from over a thousand miles away! They worked together seamlessly. We came down early for our tasting and met the Chef, we felt so taken care of and special. Not to mention the food was incredible! Cut to our special weekend - the resort is amazing! We had so many family members and friends around utilizing all the bars, restaurants, pools and cabanas - there was something for everyone! The day went off without a hitch and Maria and her staff were only a text away for anything we needed. We got married on the South Beach, with the reception immediately following on the South Lawn. Let me say how lucky were we to have found the Tradewinds! My husband and I love the beach so FL was our plan from the beginning, and with St Pete being close to the Tampa airport it was very easy for guests to book flights and arrive with ease. Throughout the planning process we dealt with Maria, who is an absolute gem! She was beyond accommodating, was very prompt answering emails and calls, and was always there with back up plans and suggestions when we hit some bumps in the road. The resort itself is beautiful, with a fantastic and spacious beach, multiple (delicious) restaurants and bars on property, pools, and endless other activities. If you happen to decide to venture outside of the resort it is located on a great strip that includes countless other activities, restaurants, and bars. We decided to have our ceremony on the South Beach, with a cocktail hour in the courtyard ( which was moved earlier in the day to a covered portico because of potential rain) and our reception in their large “Pavilion” which is an enclosed air conditioned tent. We LOVED all of the different sites, and our guests did as well! They were spotless, comfortable, and looked great in pictures! We also loved that our guests (120 of them!) could chose to book through the resort, or someplace nearby! My daughter selected TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach for her wedding in January and we couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the initial meeting to select the venue, to lunch with the executive chef to select menu items, and all the interactions in between, we were very impressed with the professional staff at TradeWinds. Their recommendations for vendors were excellent and it became abundantly clear that the Julie Manes (Wedding Sales Manager), Carrie, Lilly and the other members of the TradeWinds staff were experts at executing a flawless event. One example of the going above and beyond related to getting the bride’s wheelchair-bound grandmother (my mother) into the event. Julie coordinated to have a space reserved next to the reception for her handicap van, ensured that someone was there to welcome her when she arrived, then had Jennifer S. assist throughout the reception to ensure that she was taken care of. This type of personalized service is unheard of in this day and age and allowed me to relax and enjoy my daughter’s wedding day. EVERYONE at Tradewinds was amazingly kind and welcoming on our first visit. We made a second visit a couple months before our wedding and we were even more impressed (I didn't think that was possible) with the kindness and hospitality that was shown. Tradewinds has SO much to offer. Fast forward to wedding week...we not only had a lot family and friends there for the week, but also lots of kids and even more importantly a child with autism who had the time of his life and was in a safe and inclusive environment. Every single guest was blown away not only by how kind and helpful everyone was, but also by how much there was to do right at Tradewinds! We had AMAZING weather the entire trip...except for wedding day (yikes)! Julie not only kept me updated throughout the day (without freaking me out) but also had the entire wedding moved from the beach (my idea because of awful weather) into the most beautiful space (the Pavilion) without error in 30 minutes notice. Our cocktail hour was in the Garden courtyard and the reception was held in the Island Ballroom. You will deal with Julie or Maria, and they are both top notch. Throughout the entire wedding planning process they were on point with communication, options, ideas, suggestions and recommendations. They were sweet, patient and attentive at every one of our many, many meetings. The catering staff were second to none. All of our guests raved about the food (served rib eye and chicken). I did not receive one complaint the entire evening... their professionalism and experience in planning and catering weddings shines through and will give you so much peace of mind on your wedding day. Also, their in-house wedding planners (Driftwood Events) are absolutely phenomenal. I called them my Dream Team. Those four ladies ensured that every detail of our day went smoothly. The only reason why I am not putting 5 stars is because the venue has a lot of additional charges they add and sort of nickle and dime you on that front. And when it came to the room rates, they wouldn't give us a good deal which we were told was partly because the time of year. Most guests stayed elsewhere because the rates were so high. But, Julie was great to work with and very helpful. We really loved the venue and everyone else loved the venue too. I'm a very detailed person so I had a lot of the wedding figured out way ahead of time, and I'm sure that helped the process go so smoothly. The catering staff was great through the rehearsal and the wedding, they always checked with us to be sure we were comfortable and happy with how everything was going. Our rehearsal was on the south lawn, our ceremony was on the breck deck, and our reception was in the pavilion. The food was amazing; we have literally heard from more than a handful of guests that they had the best filet mignon of their lives at our wedding, same of the salmon. The catering manager let my groom and I choose anything we wanted to eat at all, and our lobster was absolutely phenomenal. One thing I hear a lot about wedding regrets is missing out on all of the details or not being able to eat. Thankfully, that didn't happen at our wedding. We were taken to the reception pavilion before the ceremony began so that we could look around and appreciate the final product - it was amazing. Then after our introduction and first dance, we sat to eat and were able to finish eating before a lot of guests were served their entrees - it was perfect because we could pause for photos, do the father/daughter and mother/son dances, and still have some time to sit and take it all in before the dancing and craziness began. It was so great, so much fun.The resort itself is beautiful. We chose this venue because although we are from the area, much of our family is not. So many people were able to make the wedding weekend a vacation and all of that extra time together helped make the whole weekend that much better.I couldn't have asked for a better wedding manager than Julie. The entire time we were there the whole staff was so welcoming, happy, and caring. They truly were on the ball in all aspects. The restaurants are delicious, and the servers are so friendly and upbeat. I also loved our hotel room, it was very large and perfect for my bridesmaids and I to get ready in.\r\rOn to the day of. Even though the TradeWinds is a very busy place - they manage to make it seem like 100% of their focus is on you! \r\rThe food: the food is absolutely to die for! We had a buffet and it did not disappoint. Our guests are still raving!!\rThe ceremony: the beach is beautiful, the chairs are perfect, the fence is adorable, the whole thing was just perfect!!\rThe reception: we chose an outdoor reception, on north break deck. I was a little nervous about being next to a pool, but it actually did not make a difference. The pool is adult only so it was very quiet, and the way they had everything set up I never even noticed it! The guests are also adorable, at one point an older couple was dancing to a slow song in the water - it was precious. They also fenced off our reception area so there were no distractions or passer byers.\r\rOverall: Overall the TradeWinds was excellent. Kristin Turner(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-05-2006 Our signed contract & deposits were made, and then finding out we had to move the last portion of our wedding indoors because of time/noise issues. Although the times were listed in our fully executed contract. Checking in was a nightmare, I was late to my rehearsal because they put us in the wrong rooms. Wedding day, floor plan completely different than our floor plan that was sent to Tradewinds. My groom spent his entire afternoon making sure they moved everything around.Ceremony aisle was small even though they were informed I would be walking with my mother and father.Table needed for our ceremony box was a huge table. It was placed only feet away from the front row of seats so we couldn't stand in front of it. NOW it's in every single picture & no one could hear our vows.Place cards couldn't be put down because of the wind, instead someone walked around telling people where they were going to sit verbally. I don't understand why she couldn't just hand them to the guests. No candles were lit on the tables at all, they were putting them out on tables during our first dance. Our schedule was gone over with everyone, a timeline was also discussed. So after our first dances we sat down & a toast was announced, however we they didn't have anything ready for us to drink at all so we had to skip the toast & go back later. No water on any tables, & my Mom was told by a waitress that it was in an effort to be environmentally friendly, she could find a water station to use instead. The Bartender told one of my guests that she worked a double & was closing at 1030 because she had to work in the morning and was tired! Who tells a guest that! We were supposed to move indoors for noise right there however the indoor setup was all the way across the property which was moved without our persmission, this was never asked, told, nor was it approved by us. No one knew where they were going. Then I was asked to fill out a survey about the food while I'm crying because my guests had left & no one knew what was going on. I literally waited for 20 min to go to the other room.We were supposed to have a sparkler send off after everything, that is written down & that was never done. I still don't even know where my sparklers are, I did find my sparkler sendoff picture frame and the image in the frame was crumbled in the bottom of my box. I ended up on a golf cart crying to your catering manager because I didn't know why any of this was happening. In the end everyone was so defensive, everyone seemed to be acting as if I was crazy for being upset,& that it was all going as planned. I don't understand how someone spends well over $10k at your venue not including the wedding guests and bridal party that paid to stay, eat, & enjoy the resort as well are treated so badly. Even our room change was done terribly and I had to keep going back up the front desk the day after our wedding just to move to our next room. In the end I'm upset because you only get one wedding day and it was slightly tainted by all of these issues. Even the Exquisite Events vendor wrote me back very defensively, and wouldn't return my reply email. I've also waited over a week to hear back from Julie. I'm hurt, offended, and broken down by all of this. I hope that this is a learning experience and never happens to another bride again. That was the whole point of me asking questions, so that I could get a sincere apology, maybe a few answers, and so it would never happen to another bride again. Reviewed on 03-06-2015
Juley-Ann Perez(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-11-2014 The first red flag was when we had an appointment with the catering manager, Julie Manes around noon on a Saturday and she never showed up. After multiple people tried calling her with no response and a lengthy complaint to a man in guest services we had to move on to our next appointment. Being from Chicago, we only had a few days to visit all the places we wanted to. We came back a little later to see if anyone could see us, and as soon as I tried to explain our issue, a lady at the desk started giving me attitude about the situation. I was already upset from earlier and didn't want to argue. She continued to upset me by asking for proof that we ever had an appointment to begin with. I showed her the e-mail convo I had with Julie and the girl said \"Oh you're right, I'm wrong\" without extending an actual apology. We left, and later my now husband sent out an email to multiple people from the TradeWinds resort including Julie, explaining what happened. We got a response and we were able to make another appointment the day we planned to leave FL, which was far from convenient. The resort was too beautiful to pass up, so despite all of the negativity of the day, we booked our wedding at the TradeWinds resort. \r\rOur frustration only got worse. Julie and the rest of the TradeWinds resort were terrible at communicating with us throughout our planning process. We even made phone appointments with Juile (we let her pick the time and day) and she couldn't call or pick up when we would call. Then we would hear that she was out of town. From not allowing my bridal party to park in the parking lot the night of our wedding rehearsal, to telling me that the open bar I paid for to run until 10:00 would have to close at 8:30 because they decided to open it early, without our permission, since my wedding was moved up, It seemed like everything went wrong. \r\rOur wedding was beautiful, but it had nothing to do with the people of the TradeWinds Resort. I planned my wedding all the way from Spain and I researched and compared all resorts along the gulf coast for the perfect place. My wedding was an informal intimate one on the beach with 35 guests. My wife and I wanted that picturesque beach wedding with white chairs, roses, a pergola and the sunset in the background and the Tradewinds more than delivered. Their wedding package was exactly what we needed. \r\rI was a little nervous about planning a wedding from the other side of the Atlantic but when I called and spoke with the amazing Julie Manes I knew I was in good hands. I was able to tell immediately that I was speaking with a professional by the way she answered my questions without hesitation and even explained some things that I hadn't even thought of. After our first phone conversation which lasted about 15 minutes I was at ease. I spoke to my wife immediately after and said \"Julie gives me a good feeling I think we found our spot.\" \r\rFor seven months along with their collaborators Exquisite Events, Julie managed our invoicing, dinner plans, payments, and pretty much anything we needed she never took longer than 24 hours to get us a response. I essentially planned the entire wedding from my computer thanks to Julie's knowledge and hard work.\r\rThe room we got as part of our wedding package was fantastic! It was huge with a fantastic view of the beach. My family, who was staying in different rooms kept coming to my room to hang out because it was so spacious and the views were amazing.\r\rThe day of the wedding we were lucky enough to have great weather. From our room we were able to see the wedding preparations which started early in the morning. When the time finally arrived Julie came and personally drove my wife and her parents in a little golf cart to our wedding spot on the beach where I was waiting for them. After the wedding we had a cocktail hour in which Art was our bartender and he was delightful. My family loved him, he made sure the kids had water and the adults were chit chatting with him while he whipped up some great drinks. When we went inside for the reception it was Lilly who coordinated everything. Lilly was so sweet and charming along with Aziz they made sure we had everything we needed. She helped us coordinate the first dance with the DJ and showed us how to cut the cake. I was incredibly happy with the service they provided. \r\rAt the end of the night my family was so impressed with every aspect of the wedding. I wish I could take credit for it but in all honesty it was the great team at Exquisite Events, Julie's expertise, Art's charm, and Lilly and Aziz's attentiveness which made everything run so smoothly.\r\rThank you from Sara and David in Spain! Jen Lenhart(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-04-2012 I wasn't going to write a review of my terrible experience with Tradewinds while planning my April 2012 wedding — I was hoping to just forget it — but an acquaintance recently asked me about this place, so I decided to share it. I wish I could give them zero stars. I know it's late and hopefully the people responsible are no longer there, but for what it's worth:\r\rMy now-husband and I were getting married under a tent on St. Pete Beach and we were hoping to have all of our guests stay at the Tradewinds, so we called to block a group of rooms (about 20). We were quoted a price in early December 2011, and were told we just needed to sign a contract by the end of the year to lock in that price (including the requisite guarantee for unbooked rooms). A few days later, we called to do just that and didn't hear back. Multiple phone calls and emails followed, and we finally got a return call in January — when we were told that the price had gone up at the beginning of the year. Our original quote would not be honored, despite the fact that we tried repeatedly to block the rooms at the quoted price as we were told we could do, never once having been informed that everyone would be out of their offices for the entirety of December. When my husband followed up with a customer service complaint, the director of sales said that not only did he now want us to block the rooms at a higher rate, but to pay for ALL THE ROOMS IN FULL ourselves in order to block them (which would require our guests to pay us for their rooms) — seemingly out of spite. He then literally — shockingly — told him, \"We don't need your business.\" \r\rObviously, we were disgusted, but also disappointed because we quickly had to find and block rooms elsewhere for a busy time of year (luckily, the Postcard Inn was lovely and helpful). \r\rWe actually spent our wedding night at the Don Cesar, where the service was impeccable. They could not have been more warm and welcoming. \r\rMost importantly, we toured both the Don and the Tradewinds as possible wedding venues (ultimately deciding against them because with 80 guests, we didn't have enough people to warrant the ballrooms that we preferred). Prospective brides should know that they are basically comparably priced, which is INSANE, because the Don is so much more elegant and memorable. The Don is BY FAR a much better value. \r\rThe Tradewinds looks like a mid-level Vegas hotel and I wouldn't recommend anyone have their wedding or their wedding guests there. \r\r Reviewed on 04-11-2013

Everyone had an amazing time and so did we! I would def recommend this place for brides who are looking for a beach themed wedding! It's just beautiful! Reviewed on 21-03-2012
Ania Collado(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-11-2011 I can not say enough about the quality and amount of food that my vendor provided for our reception. I must say it was the BEST wedding food anyone could ask for. From appetizer to meat carving station, and it was NOT expensive compared to other placed that wanted to charge the same for a piece of chicken and a vegatable.\rThe tradwinds Island Grand was the BEST reception site. Allison Baxter(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2011 I felt that leading up to the event questions were not easily answered. It was easiest to write emails as long as you followed up to get a response, and didn't ask multiple questions in one email. Renee was very nice each time I spoke with her, but ultimately didn't know how everything ends up working out, like how it works when you block rooms. I lost sleep over how many rooms I blocked off, and in the end I got a different story from the reservation person in charge of my account. Also, booking the rehearsal if you aren't buying dinner there is not possible, only if space allows I was told. We weren't able to get an estimate of the cost like with other venues. We were given a book with meal prices and told to calculate this ourselves, in the end our estimate was close to what we thought it would be but the menu details weren't accurate. We paid a lot of money for bone in dark meat chicken marsala. We were told that after the reception everything had to come out of the room right away, so I paid a fee before hand to have a bellman take our belongings to our room. We waited for the bellman for over an hour which made us late to our after party, after we were asked to tell them earlier in the day what time we would need him to arrive. He then dropped our sand ceremony and a vase with our flowers in it. The room we booked for after the wedding, ended up changing because they changed the description of this type of room. Originally we booked a king size bed, and got two queens. We were never able to see the room we booked for the reception because the doors were always locked, and it ended up being a little too small for our guest count and the ceilings were a little low. I had a really hard time getting a room layout a couple of days before the wedding so I would know what to expect for the tables I was going to set up for place cards, gift table etc, which ended up meaning that they didn't deliver the right tables and the linen we ordered didn't fit the tables they had to make up for the missing tables. Before I signed a contract I was told there would be no construction going on in the hotel during my wedding, although my ceremony site was under serious construction, with a fake wall blocking the entire bottom of the building complete with sand bags and a scaffolding that reached to the roof. All of the windows had large blue stickers on them with obvious hollow rooms. It made for not very nice pictures.Like everyone who has an outdoor ceremony we had an alternate site if it rained and the day of realized that the room they booked as our alternate did not have a covered walkway so our guests would get soaked walking from the indoor ceremony site to the reception. You would think they would have encountered this issue before. Therefore, they recommended we hold the ceremony in the reception room and have the guest sit at the tables like they would at the reception. They threw out a large portion of my cake that was left over. I ordered extra cake on purpose and was then told there was none left, which we even had the name of the server that took our cake to the kitchen to be boxed up. I feel like we spent a lot of money at this facility and they acted like their main purpose isn't weddings and if we chose to hold a wedding at their site they weren't going to make sure it went smoothly. Ryan Simmons(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2011 We are from Chicago and decided to have a destination wedding in Florida. From all the resorts in the St Pete Beach area we chose The Tradewinds Island Grand. The resort is beautiful and it is in a perfect location for a beach front Ceremony. They have many different ballrooms for you to choose from, but make sure you make a reservation in advance because it books up very quickly. \rThe day of our wedding arrived and we were so excited for the big day and for our dream ceremony facing the beach at the gazebo. Unfortunately, the weather did not help at all with 45 miles per hour winds, so we decided to use the back up room inside at one of the reception halls, which it worked out perfect.\rOur wedding coordinator was Renee Prine, we worked by emails back and forth for 6 months in advance. She is very friendly, professional and answered all of our questions in a timely matter. Unfortunately, the day of our wedding I was very disappointed because they promised us they will be by our side for our special day to take care all the details, but that couldn’t be more farther from the truth. The Tradewinds is such a big resort and they are not afraid to book weddings back to back. We decided not to have a real big wedding, so we had about 50 guests and 6 in the bridal party. Maybe because we did not have a BIG wedding the Tradewinds didn’t think it was as important as a 200 person wedding which it was in the next hall. One of the benefits to hosting your wedding at the Treadewinds Island Resort is they will give you a free one night stay in one of their Honeymoon suites. The suites are very nice and the view is beyond spectacular. However, you would think the honeymoon suite would have a king size bed for your special honeymoon night, but if you thought that, you would be wrong. The room was equipped with two queen size beds.\rThe reception hall Jacaranda was awesome and it was setup exactly how I wanted it. They did a great job on the setup, however they forgot another IMPORTANT aspect to our wedding. As many weddings do, we had wedding favors for each guest that came to our wedding. After the ceremony was over I went into the reception hall to see how everything turned out and noticed the big box with all the wedding favors right next to the seating chart table. I could not believe that the favors where not put out for our guest, or at least be asked what to do with them, instead I had to have two or our attending guest put the favors out on the tables as one of banquet employees just stood and watched us. I felt embarrassed that I had to have two of my guest hand out the wedding favors.\rWe decided to have a sand ceremony in lure of the traditional candle ceremony which is popular for a beach wedding. You would figure with the amount of money we gave to the Tradewinds that something as simple and important as the sand unity would be taken care of by the staff. The day of wedding my future to be husband had to set up the whole sand ceremony with the Reverend a half hour prior to the Ceremony. \rAnother issue that we experienced was with the Bartender who couldn’t have had a worse attitude about being working our reception, even though he was making good money with all our very giving guests, we never had a chance to see any smile coming out from the his face.\rOverall the resort is beautiful and have very friendly Bell staff and front desk agents. The rooms are renovated and clean. Reviewed on 20-10-2011
Lori Hart(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-09-2011 My husband and I stayed at the Tradewinds on our wedding night. Many of our guests stayed there as well. While we were impressed by the quality of the food in the restaurants and by the service of the staff (front desk and bell hops), we were disappointed in regards to a couple of issues. First, we asked to see the rooms prior to making our reservation and weren't able to do that. Second, we asked for a discount, a room upgrade or a late checkout since we reserved around 10 rooms for ourselves and our guests. We were denied even a late checkout and were disappointed that management was inflexible in this area. Otherwise, the experience was lovely once we were checked in. The grounds were well kept and the staff was friendly and accomodating. Reviewed on 16-10-2011

Ister Morales(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-02-2011 The TradeWinds was a perfect location for our wedding. They provided great service for all of our guests that chose to stay at the resort. We had our ceremony by the beach, our cocktail hour at a different location in front of the beach, and our reception at the Courtyard Garden. Every location was beautiful! The staff worked closely with me to get everything needed, and make sure I was satisfied. Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. There was a problem with the music during our wedding, and some guests complained the band was too loud; we were told if we didn't lower the volume, the music could be shut off by one person. Everything worked out at the end, and we were able to enjoy our party to its fullest.\r\rRecommended! Reviewed on 02-05-2011
David Mann(groom)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-09-2010 We chose a destination wedding in FL where neither myself or wife had been. We spent extensive time on websites and on the phone with wedding consultants and chose Tradewinds. The online impression was good, HOWEVER, the actual services provided were poor to average, and the service was poor upon arrival. Mischeduled rooms, mixed up room assignments, disregard of emails sent, extensive communication forgotten upon arrival, standing in check in line for over an hour, rude service at a restaurant in the hotel, many guests had to change rooms due to construction noises, BRIDAL PARTY had to change rooms due to barking dogs in nearby rooms, drunken guests screaming in the hallways at night, ceremony accommodations were not as promised, reception venue not as promised and not up to standards, and the wedding consultant we had been assigned was not even there the 2 days before the wedding when we arrived! We did not see her until the ceremony began and she was more concerned about the FOOD (where the income comes from) than anything else. \rOverall, the experience at Tradewinds was poor. The wedding was beautiful because of friends, family, and upbeat attitudes of our wedding party. The price was not worth the bad service, we would rather have paid more and gone somewhere else and would not recommend Tradewinds Resort. You are just a number, just a dollar sign, as they pound weddings through their facility. Reviewed on 22-11-2010
