Twelve Acres is a banquet hall and wedding venue located in Smithfield, RI. For over two decades, this expansive property has provided a number of event spaces for couples and their guests to celebrate one-of-a-kind celebrations. Whether you’re looking to wed in the great outdoors or inside a modern ballroom, Twelve Acres has you covered. Couples can make the most of the glorious sunshine with a ceremony on the venue’s luscious green lawns. Surrounded by tall trees, you and your loved one can exchange vows in complete tranquility. Alternatively, you can wed under the quaint and covered Pavilion. This area can also be configured to host cocktail hours and receptions of up to 450 people. Here, you can mingle with guests, sip on beverages, and watch as the sun sets over the nearby woodland. Surrounding the Pavilion, there is ample space for lawn games, barbeques, New England-style clambakes, and much more. Receptions and other celebrations can also take place indoors in either the Grand Ballroom, The Willow Room, and The Patio Room. The Grand Ballroom is the largest indoor event space with a capacity of up to 250 guests. This area has plenty of room for seated guests, a dance floor, and live entertainment. Upon booking your wedding at Twelve Acres, their events staff will be on-hand to ensure that your celebrations run smoothly. They can assist you in the complete setup and breakdown of all decor, leaving you to focus on more meaningful matters. I reached out to Twelve Acres/Alicia through the app to schedule a tour. Come the date of the tour she didn’t show up nor did she reach out to apologize or reschedule.. If they can’t remember a simple scheduled tour, how am I supposed to trust them with scheduling my wedding? Ultimate red flag, no thanks! I do have to say, another worker gave us a quick tour of the venue so it wasn’t a total bust. It’s not what we’re looking for aesthetically or menu wise, but I have to say the venue does look better in person than in photos!

Beautiful space! We loved the 'classic' feel of the venue and there was so much room for dancing and tables. We had the ballroom and we were able to come and decorate the venue the day prior - Alicia was super flexible, which we appreciated.The ceremony area was a bit tricky, there's a pretty big hill that you need to walk down and it may be concerning for some older guests (we ended up indoors due to rain, so it worked out!) The food was superb and everything we could've asked for - highly recommend doing the buffet.With all the good, there was some bad. The wedding coordinator was not very helpful when it came to setting up the tables; we didn't see a seating chart until the day *of* our wedding only after seating arrangements were incorrect at a few tables and guests had nowhere to sit. I had to have one of my bridesmaids pull her from another room in the venue to start our ceremony because at 10 of, she was nowhere to be found. After the ceremony, we didn't see her again until almost 8:30. With that being said, she did appoint someone else to our room, Boomi - who was incredible! I just wish it was made clear to me before the day of that Boomi was going to be the one in charge of our wedding night. Everything was handled, taken care of, etc., just felt frustrating to have little communication about the management of our event until the day/minute of.

Great affordable venue with excellent food. The bartender was new and we had issues with guests from another wedding visiting our open bar, and then there was an issue with our bill not being the most current version of the quote....these are the only reasons for the loss of 1 star. Alicia was with me from day one and she was awesome. Bunmi took care of us on the day and did an excellent job utilizing all of my DIY decor...the place looked amazing! A few small hiccups here and there but nothing that ultimately made a difference to us on our big day. This is a solid choice for venue and I would choose them again!

Alicia was very professional and easy to talk to, every time I had a question she had an answer and it was absolutely delightful. It ended up pouring on my wedding day and we had the outdoor venue but they ran a beautifully and it perfectly matched our casual vibe. However we never received the champagne toast that we paid for even though we talked about it extensively since I had so many pregnant women coming to my wedding and wanted to make sure they could have a non-alcoholic version as well as the groom. Talked about it the day before at the rehearsal as well, never got it. I didn’t know my maid of honor would not have toast for me, I still assumed we’d get the champagne we paid for and that the groom and I could just make a toast thanking everybody for coming. The venue itself was beautiful and they set out all the decorations I had but they also asked me to make place cards with all the meal options on it and then didn’t use them so that was a cost and use of my time that I didn’t need to do, they just asked people what they had at the line. Everybody loved the food and the venue even made a special appetizer for me that was a giant hit!

My husband and I had our dream wedding here. The food was good, the evening went SO smoothly, the staff were so helpful and friendly and all of our guests had a great time. One server in particular--I wish I remembered his name--was extremely thorough and considerate with my and several of my guests' dietary restrictions. Overall a fantastic night and fantastic venue to work with throughout the planning experience.

From the first moment of looking at the venue until the day after the wedding when we picked up our things, everyone was absolutely amazing. They were on top of things, extremely pleasant to deal with and always got right back to us. We had our wedding down at the outside pavilion and our ceremony down in the valley below. We were so amazed at how smooth everything went, Linda and Michele were so attentive to our questions and details. Everything from our decorations, the food, the service and the direction was absolutely perfect. We appreciated the extra direction and additional time for the rehearsal and that they took care of everything we wanted. We absolutely recommend Twelve Acres to anyone looking for a beautiful venue in northern Rhode Island.

Michelle and Linda made the planning process a breeze and helped pull off our perfect wedding day. The food was delicious, the staff was super accommodating and they set up our ceremony/reception spaces beautifully - I couldn’t have done it better myself! So many of our guests had never been to Twelve Acres before and couldn’t stop complimenting the space. If you’re looking for a spot for your wedding (or any special occasion), stop by and check them out!

The whole twelve acres staff was wonderful to work with. They were very easily accessible by phone or email, and answered questions very quickly. When an unforeseen family emergency happened the day before our wedding where we could not drop off our decorations ourselves, Linda and staff were very accommodating to the circumstances and went above and beyond any expectations. When I walked in to our reception the next day, the room exceeded any and all expectations! I could not be more thankful that we chose this place for our reception. I highly recommend this venue to all of my family and friends.

Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful and we have the staff at Twelve Acres to thank for that. It was 95 degrees on the day of our wedding and everything was outside so it was very hot. If the tented area that our reception was held in had some kind of cooling system, even a fan, it would have been a bit better especially because we had quite a few older guests....but no one seemed to be too bothered by the heat in general. It is not their fault it was a hot day so I cannot really complain. Food was excellent and all the staff are super friendly and helpful.

I first met with Joe at Twelve Acres where we went over all the wedding details and signed a contract. I had called a couple time over the next 2 months with some questions (asking to speak with Joe or Joyce). I was told they were busy until one day I stopped in and learned the owners were retired. Once I learned who was now in charge I started talking to them about things I wanted to do for the wedding. We nonstop had conflicting issues between what we agreed upon with the original owner’s vs the new people in charge. Examples include but are not limited to: We were supposed to get any colored napkins we wanted at no cost; we were then told \"We don't do that here, they do have a cost, who told you that\". We were told we had to decorate the sweetheart table our self. So we went out and bought tulle and lights for the head tables. When we stopped at the venue to check out how it would look, one of the new people told us that they do provide lace skirts for the tables with lights. We can have an aisle runner, oh no we can't. We were trying to figure out our seating chart and were told the tables needed even number seating so I tried to work with that. Come to find out we did not need even numbers. Yet another MISUNDERSTANDING. The day of the wedding. We had to set up outside ourselves which was fine, BUT my groomsmen did not belong cleaning up cigarette butts and other garbage that was circulating outside! They had to have changes made in the reception room to our centerpieces. They didn't put them all up correctly to what we provided in the giant pictures that we gave them. I was assured that our name finders (on frames) would be put on easels so that they did not bend (guess what, NO easels, they were just put on a table where only half of each frame was actually on the table and the other half was off causing the frame to bend). Also, after the ceremony we were supposed to have a waiter that was serving the hor d'oeuvres. He stood in one spot having everyone come to him in the wedding party rather than walking around serving the food. He never once approached me or my husband to offer us any food. I didn't even no he was out there for some time. Someone in our wedding party had to bring food over to us! We were originally concerned about it being warm in the building when we would stop in there but we were assured that the AC's only go on when the room is in use. WELL nobody informed us that the AC's were broken the day of our wedding. Our room was about a million degrees or to be a little more accurate 87degrees. Guests were complaining about how hot it was in the room as well as our vendors, our photo booth attendants, the bartender and so on. Nobody working there ever even apologized or tried to accommodate us in any other way (some fans would have been terrific). Then our food came out, while we were walking around making sure that everyone was enjoying their food we came to a general consensus that most people's steaks were either bloody red or completely dried out, the vegetables exceeded al dente, the rolls were hard, the chicken fingers for the kids looked processed ($17 well spent on the food for the kids right?), the shrimps were not cleaned. But I do have to say the chicken kiev was marvelous! The next day we stopped in to pick something up my mom was asked how everything went. She said we made the best of the situation since we were stuck in a room where the AC's were not working! They had nothing to say from there.

We held our wedding at Twelve Acres recently and could not have been more happy. The staff did an amazing job before and during the wedding. Everyone loved the food and drinks. We held the wedding in the ballroom and the room is beautifully decorated, with plenty of space for guests. The prices are reasonable, which allowed us to add on extras, which our guests loved! I would highly recommend the venue!

We held our wedding at Twelve Acres recently and could not have been more happy. The staff did an amazing job before and during the wedding. Everyone loved the food and drinks. We held the wedding in the ballroom and the room is beautifully decorated, with plenty of space for guests. The prices are reasonable, which allowed us to add on extras, which our guests loved! I would highly recommend the venue!

I enjoyed working with Joyce and the other staff at Twelve Acres. When my fiancee and I were stressed out from all the planning she was able to put us at ease that they would be taking care of our wedding. I would definitely recommend Twelve Acres to anyone looking for an affordable venue for their wedding. My reception was amazing!!! The food was fantastic!! Friends and family gave me raved reviews when I returned from my honeymoon. The staff worked so well to make all my wishes and dreams come true. The prices were also very affordable! It was a fabulous day!

Nice outdoor location. Not very organized. forgot many specialized items i requested. Host was a little too talkative and not tending to the brides nervousness.\rother than those few things my wedding was great.

The Pavillion was great for our outdoor wedding and ept everyone dry when it rained during dinner. It was open and fun.;The staff had no communication. The people who worked there were not given any informmation from the person I was told would be handling our wedding .. the then went out of town before the wedding. From not cleaning up a childs vomit for hours to selling alcohol instead of letting people now we had prepaid for several drinks, to not having the paltes we ordered to mischarging me and not returning my complaint emails.
