Twin Oaks House & Gardens Reviews

We had a December wedding here with 180 people and had so many people tell us that it was the best wedding theyâve ever been to. The flow of the venue is absolutely perfect for a crowd and had plenty of little spaces to hangout but still felt intimate. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The bridal salon was perfect to get ready with all the bridesmaids and the boys loved the speakeasy. The venue is all outside with a heated tent. We rented space heaters for cocktail hour but the tent was nice and cozy for a chilly December night. We opted for the satellite bar during happy hour and everyone said they got their drinks FAST! We were extremely impressed with the bartending staff and they even let us do a signature cocktail. You also provide all of your own liquor and mixers which was a huge plus if you want open bar with a big crowd. The food was amazing, we did family style, and everyone raved about it. The family style is perfect so tables donât feel bad getting table called last to the buffet. We did beef, chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans; peopleâs only complaint was that there was too much food. The staff was outstanding and attentive. Our wedding coordinator, Gina, was so helpful and informative throughout the entire planning process. She is so organized and made me go into our wedding with no stress knowing I would be in good hands. Katie was our bridal assistant, she is such a gem. She was so sweet bringing us champagne and checking in on us all day while getting ready. The star of the show was the manager, Billy. Billy absolutely crushed it and made sure everything went smoothly. He checked on me all day and even carried by bags and escorted me to our party bus on the way out. Overall we had the most magical wedding and canât thank Twin Oaks and all their staff for making our day so special. Reviewed on 17-12-2023

No words can describe our special day!Our Guests description of the Venue: Nostalgic! Perfect! Breathtaking! Stunning! Strikingly Gorgeous! Something out of a Dream!Me & my partner viewed over 25 venues and the minute we stepped into this place, we had goosebumps and and overwhelming feeling of happiness, joy and peace. We both said, \"This is the One\". Mind you, we viewed this venue during the day but my gosh, once the sun started setting and fairy lights hanging from the trees, the twinkling lights from the Arbor tunnel and the tented reception lights came on... it was over for me! I couldn't hold back the tears and watching from a distance all of our family and friends enjoy the special moment.Staff: We could of not made this day more complete without Amy Hayashi (our coordinator), her assistants Katie & Rachel & the entire Trademark Staff. We are so blessed to be paired up with her. Amy is extremely organized, collected and her calm demeanor rubbed off on us and both us brides during our big day. She made sure everything was in place and perfect for us. She went over and beyond our expectations even months before the wedding. We assigned our Bridal Party (15 people) to specific tasks but once we arrived to the venue, she and her team was already in taking care of it all. She constantly would approach us and asked if we needed anything and if we did, she ran around to fill our requests. This is one of those moments in time where we will both remember for the rest of our lives and constantly look back at pictures on how perfect this day was primarily because of the Venue and Amy. This venue did not even need any flowers or decor to make it beautiful. Its blank Slate was perfect enough but Adina's flowers came in and added a touch to compliment our motif and the surrounding lush and made our dream become a realty. My heart is full. All my guests were gushing over how much they loved the venue and kept asking me \"How did you find this place!?\"Our wedding coordinator was Amy, who was a JOY to work with!! She was with us every step of the way, answering every question and making every small adjustment we had. It was amazing to have her only an email away :) Her and the bridal assistant Katie were incredible on the day of. I walked in and everything was set up PERFECTLY, just how we had envisioned it! Literally the best wedding food i think I will ever have. The planning over the year before our wedding was very organized and detailed. The venue is INCREDIBLY pretty, I think it got more compliments than my dress lol. We loved the ethereal vibe but also how cozy it can be. You get to enjoy all of the venues beauty all night. Natalie, our coordinator, made everything easy leading up to the day and made the day run smoothly. She gave recommendations to save money and on good local vendors to work with. If you are looking to have a romantic fairy tale wedding, look no further! The beautiful greenery and flowing fountains throughout the property is what sold it for us.In addition to the natural beauty, the Trademark staff was ON TOP of their stuff. Every meeting that I had with the coordinators always left me feeling a sense of relief in all the wedding planning stress. The day of was nothing different, Karamia and Katie on the Trademark team were SOOOO attentive, kind, and made me feel so comfortable during the whole process. Jenna is absolutely wonderful and is the best wedding coordinator EVER. She made everything so exciting and fun and was such a joy to plan with. Day of, she checked in on us just enough and had everything arranged exactly as we discussed, and it was just so absolutely beautiful. She made our vision come to life and it was pure magic.Speaking of day of, Katie is a total delight. She always made sure we had water and champagne and anything else we needed. The girls are the perfect amount of professional and fun, where it was so comforting to know you are in the best hands and everything is handled, but it also felt like family was with us the whole time. I had a beautiful conversation with Katie before I walked down the aisle, and I will always treasure that moment with her. <3The venue brought tears to our eyes the first time we saw it, and the night of our wedding was spectacular. Jenna was fantastic with communicating with us as needed and moving the cake cutting up since toasts ran long to make sure our videographer captured the moment. She kept everything on schedule, and did it with grace and finesse.Regardless of what actual venue you choose, Trademark knows what theyâre doing. Helen Park(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-01-2020 Fulfilled all my wedding dreams! Before even starting the daunting task of planning a wedding, Twin Oaks was the first venue we went to see and I was done! It was everything I wanted and my FH, who frankly didnât care as long as I was happy, really liked it too. After finding out that the pricing was within our budgeted range, we signed a contract that day! We did go look at their other venue Green Gables, too. Itâs just as lovely, but Twin Oaks had more of the intimate feel that I loved. The best thing about this venue is simply itâs beauty. Because itâs only used for weddings year round, they have made every nook and cranny inside and outside so pretty for photographs and for creating an elegantly natural vibe for the guests. They are constantly improving and adding new details and itâs incredible how they are able to keep the grounds lush and green year round. The bridal getting ready suite inside the historical school house is full of design details that make it unlike anything Iâve ever seen. As an interior designer myself, Iâm not easily impressed so my adoration of this venue is hopefully helpful. Many of my guests were designers as well, and they all told me how theyâve never been to a more beautiful wedding. The next best thing about this venue is that it is all inclusive. If youâre like me, you have a job that keeps you very busy and you have a FH who is hands off with most things wedding related. Twin Oaks comes with a wedding coordinator and many built-in services so the planning process was so easy. I had Chloe as my coordinator and she was fantastic at keeping everything organized and on track from beginning to end. Not having to bring on outside vendors for catering, tables/chairs, linens, bartending, decor rentals, and a day-of coordinator was such a load off of my shoulders. They presented me with my options, and I simply had to pick what I liked. The only vendors I had to bring on myself were the florist, DJ, photographer, and desserts. You can go through Twin Oaks for wedding cake and desserts, but we had someone else that we wanted to use. I also loved that there is a permanent reception tent that is included in the cost. Our wedding was in January so there was a risk of having a wet outdoor wedding. If it did rain, there was a built-in backup to have the ceremony in the tent. Thankfully, it was a beautiful day and the sun came out for our wedding! Our wedding day was so special and so much more than both my husband and I ever imagined. Chloe and the Twin Oaks staff were hugely responsible for making our day feel stress free so we could just enjoy our time with each other, family and friends. I read other reviews too, but they still went above and beyond my expectations. The only tiny hiccup that day was my fault and Chloe addressed it perfectly. I forgot to give them the custom table numbers that I had printed for the reception. Chloe came to me and told me they didnât seem to have the table numbers but that they can simply use the ones that they provide for free. She had the example in her hand and it was an easy âyesâ from me. It looks great in my photos and no one else is the wiser. A few weeks later, my husband told me that he never really felt the need for a formal wedding, but he is so happy now that we did it. We have special memories that will forever be tied to Twin Oaks! Karolyn Moses(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2019 I could not recommend Twin Oaks enough! From the moment my mom sent me the link to the website, I fell in love. I wanted to know pricing so I contacted the office. They wouldn't really tell me what the pricing was without booking a tour first, which is fine because I loved the place and wanted to see more of it. I didn't live in the area at the time, so they were able to accommodate me by doing a virtual tour. My mom and I skyped in and one of the coordinators showed us around the venue on her phone and answered any questions we had. After the tour, we had a follow-up consultation with her right after. This is where we learned more about their pricing and packages. We ended up booking our wedding on a Thursday because it was about half the price it would have been on the weekend. After that, we were assigned Chloe Grogan as our coordinator. Chloe has been so great throughout the whole process. During our initial phone call, she asked us questions about any vendors we had booked, our wedding party, parents, etc. I have asked Chloe SO many questions over email and she has always been a delight to speak to and answered all my questions in a timely manner. When our 2nd meeting (The design meeting) rolled around, we were able to go in person! Myself, my fiance, my sister, my best friend, and my mom all came and they LOVED the place. We all sat down with Chloe, who was very nice, and she went through all of our options with us for napkins, colors, furniture, rentals, etc. It felt very easy and stress-free which is all I could really ask for with wedding planning. The catering meeting was done at another venue and there, we were able to enjoy an open bar and try all the options for food. Most of it was fine, but we ended up choosing a couple of awesome tasting items! (The Santa Maria Tri-tip and butternut squash ravioli were SO good!) Chloe ended up being our coordinator the whole way through and she was the BEST. She kept the rehearsal running smoothly. It was probably the smoothest rehearsal I had ever been a part of (even though the officiant was late). And the day of, she and the rest of her team were on top of it. I was running late to the venue and the assistants offered me champagne right away which was greatly appreciated because I was an anxious mess. I would start scrambling to take something somewhere in a panic and they would stop me and take care of it for me and offer me more champagne-they were absolutely amazing and I truly felt like a queen that day. Some of my favorite aspects were the twinkle lights all over the venue and the schoolhouse bell that rang when I arrived when our ceremony ended, and for our grand exit-just like a fairytale! Chloe would keep checking in with us on what would happen next and make sure we were ready. The day was over before we knew it and Chloe sent us home with a bag of food which we appreciated SO much because in the craziness, we missed out on trying some desserts-thanks Chloe!! Everyone loved the venue and the staff was so kind to us the whole process. I highly recommend Twin Oaks to anyone who may be considering it. It was truly a magical day for us thanks to them. We had our dog in our ceremony and a lot of small details, and her and her team took care of everything. I'll admit I was a little crazy about keeping things on schedule and she was always there moving things along for me. The food was delicious, some of the best wedding food I've ever had! However, the second we walked into the venue, it exceeded our wildest imaginations. It is absolutely gorgeous any time of the year. We were worried it might be too hot for the outdoor ceremony but it is very well-shaded. The planning process was so wonderful as well. They seriously make it as stress free as possible. My wedding planner, Serena, was outstanding. She immediately responded to all of my emails very thoughtfully and knowledgeably, even at the planning period where I was sending multiple emails full of questions in a day! She always answered very concisely and was always offering solutions to any problem I came up with. During the planning meetings, she was the perfect balance of suggestions and making us come to our own decisions. Planning the venue and decorations was the easiest part of the whole process because they have such a great system. Some places really nickel and dime you for everything but here there was options for upgrades but they were reasonable and everything included was very high quality and beautiful. On the actual day, Serena and her team really did an amazing job. They assigned people to me to make sure I had everything I needed and Serena handled ALL of the little details of the wedding and timeline. I never once had to worry if we were on schedule or about things not being how I planned. Everything ran so smooth. Everyone loved all of the appetizers and the cocktails! Our wedding day was actually pretty cold so I was worried the tent would be too cold because it is open but their heaters worked wonders! It was so warm and cozy everywhere in the tent but never overly heated.Everyone loved the food and the stations. No one ever had to wait to get food and was able to eat at their own pace and try everything out. People could dance in the tent or find a little corner to hang out and drink. People were tucked into every little corner having an amazing time. Lastly, they were wonderful at cleaning up as the night went on and were wonderful at packing up everything for us at the end of the night. This venue was beyond perfect. It is visually stunning and completely set the entire aesthetic for the wedding. The whole team was so helpful and professional. Serena handled everything so perfectly to make sure everything ran smoothly and was executed exactly as I had envisioned. I can't imagine a less stressful experience in planning a wedding than I had at Twin Oaks. My wedding coordinator changed a couple times for different reasons, but Elizabeth Guevara ended up being the one to see us through to our big day. She made it easy to stay on track with planning meetings by letting me know when it was time to set up a date. In the 2 months leading up to our wedding, I had a million questions and felt anxious about little things that I think I was emailing Elizabeth every day if not twice a day and she always responded within an appropriate timeframe and with so much patience. The ENTIRE planning team at Twin Oaks made the wedding planning process easy and straightforward which is exactly what I wanted. When it came to our wedding week, things went even smoother than I could have imagined. I tried to make inventory easy on the setup crew by placing all items in clear storage bins with a list of items in each bin which I think saved a lot of time checking each thing in. Alcohol drop off went great according to my cousin who dropped everything off for us. I was blown away by how every single item I had brought was exactly in its place where I had asked Elizabeth and the team to put it. Not only that, but the venue had been transformed into our own personal heaven on earth with little touches of us everywhere - from the pictures, to the bar menus, to the framed music quotes - everything was where it needed to be. Our guests were in awe of how BEAUTIFUL the venue was. Everyone had a blast exploring the little hidden photo op areas of Twin Oaks. Each area made for a perfect photo moment and our guests loved all of it. The food - to this day we are getting comments about how GOOD the food was at our wedding. We opted for the \"stations\" with the fried ravioli as a passed appetizer, the sausage kebobs and tomato bisque shooter at their own stations, Santa Maria tri tip, yukon whipped potatoes, veggies, and a chicken dish. The serving staff couldn't get the plated food out fast enough because as soon as they set a tray of plates down, the food was gone. However, I never heard a complaint from any of our guests that they didn't get enough to eat - everyone had enough to eat and was able to go back for seconds or thirds of their favorite dishes. I wish my husband and I could have eaten more, but it's true, when you're the bride & groom you have to expect that you'll be interrupted every 20 seconds during dinner. THANKFULLY, Elizabeth put EVERY single food item on our menu PLUS a slice of our cake and desserts from our dessert table in to go boxes for my husband and I to eat later!!! I nearly cried when I saw the bag of food from our wedding, it was such a nice touch and thoughtful thing to do. The leftovers were just as good the next day if not better.Honestly, I can't think of a single thing that went wrong on our wedding day. And if something did go wrong, my husband and I weren't aware of it at all and it must've been handled by Elizabeth and Leo and the entire team. Twin Oaks will ALWAYS hold a special place in our hearts. The venue was everything I envisioned it to be on our wedding day- romantic, beautiful, charming, and most of all - all about us and the people we love. Reviewed on 28-02-2018

The small vintage details and garden nooks made me fall in love with this place, and the fact that they have loads of vintage furniture for you to rent in invaluable!! Their pieces match the venue perfectly and their flexibility to allow you to customize everything for your entire day is worth every penny!!! This venue is the most beautiful place there is an all of San Diego County! Iâm the pickiest mother of the Bride there ever was and they did not disappoint!!! During our walk through it was evident that the location, the decor of the venue, and staff were top notch! We were not disappointed with the planning at the wedding, rehearsal, and the attention to detail that the staff gave us during our time there. The food was absolutely magnificent, and the venue breathtaking!!! Our daughter told us that this with her dream wedding and more!!! What more could any parent of the bride want! On the day of the wedding our executive director Ramon was amazing!!! He checked in with us frequently to make sure we were happy with our plans!!! Our wedding coordinator Liz was equally outstanding and made sure our vision was realized!! Thank you to all of the staff there on January 14 th for wedding!! A last minute glitch with the florist not remembering to provide the roses for the Grand Exit was a bit stressful but Ramon and Liz provided a quick alternative that was fabulous !!! We visited in august, March, May, June, and November for our initial visits and wedding meeting appointments and it was gorgeous and in bloom every time. The staff is very responsive and accommodating. Every detail was addressed and taken care of for a very low stress event for me. The food was SOOOOOOO GOOD! Everyone told me it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Private parking and security was an absolute essential for me and it is included in the cost of the venue. The only thing I would suggest looking out for is that gratuities are not factored into the final price so plan accordingly. Reviewed on 21-11-2017
Megan Lee(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-07-2017 First off, it was a colleague of mine who had recommended this place because it was where she got married last year and because it used to be a schoolhouse. She couldn't stop raving about it and how much she loved it. My then fiance and I were intrigued so we drove 1.5 hours just go to there and see what it was all about. Throughout the tour, we were breathless and loved every inch of the venue. We couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was. When we sat down, we also found out that it's an all inclusive venue that already had food catering and a wedding coordinator included. We basically booked when we sat down after the tour, without any hesitations, even though we had planned to go to other venues after that. (The schoolhouse was a big check off for me, being a teacher and all. :) )Wedding planning: We met Serena, our wedding coordinator, three times throughout the year and I had inquired many times throughout the year we were planning for all kinds of questions that were always answered with a smile. She even spent about an hour going over the colors of napkins with our parents, smiling and laughing at our color coordination and disagreements. She was totally respectful to our parents and even they loved Serena! Even though there was a hiccup in the beginning, the Twin Oaks staff did their best to clear things up and make sure that I left a happy bride. Pre-wedding: day before, my husband and I loved Serena and her expertise with everything. She was obviously experienced with weddings and gave us a lot of advice on the simplest things like how to hold hands, or face, etc. Serena was just on top of it. Serena was just organized and I loved that she was there to help with anything. We also dropped off everything decor wise that day and Serena made sure to write where I wanted everything to be.Wedding day: We got ready at the hotel and when I arrived to the venue with my bridal party, the venue was absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't have asked for a better day. It was beautiful how everything was coming together. Even though there was a mixup with favors and somehow I didn't have as many favors as I thought I brought, Serena and I had worked it out so that it wouldn't become an issue and she made sure to not freak me out. She had everything handled for it quickly with a smile and I just loved her friendly, bubbly attitude. It really helped to calm me down. When the ceremony was about to start, I found out that I also had a bridal assistant who helped with any of my personal needs (water, food, etc.) She was amazing too! I had asked for a small piece of bread before the ceremony began and later in the evening, she came out with a whole loaf of bread!! Her thoughtfulness was spot on and I was just touched by that. In addition, having Serena there really just helped me be a relaxed and calm bride throughout our wedding. I had a lot of comments of \"you don't look tired! You're not tired?\" or \"You look so calm! You're not bridezilla at all!\" and I can honestly attribute my calm and happy attitude to Serena. She is just such an amazing coordinator and I can't say enough good things about her. If you get a chance to have Serena as your wedding coordinator at Twin Oaks, she will make you the happiest bride! Thank you so much Serena for all your help with EVERYTHING. July 1st was magical for Eddie and I, and we can't thank you enough for just making it perfect. Thank you! Reviewed on 11-10-2017

Romance filled every nook and cranny and I just knew that was where we were going to get married. They were so extremely attentive and answered every single one of my questions because lord knows we all have them. I will say to write everything down!!! They have a lot of weddings that are so different so it is hard to remember everything. I went to a wedding at this venue about five years ago and from the moment I first saw the gorgeous property, I knew that day, if I ever got married that would be where I wanted to my wedding. It's an absolute dream!! Aside from the obviously stunning, magical property; they make everything so easy!! My big thing when planning a wedding was that I didn't want to deal with a bunch of different vendors - one for linens, one for tables, one for food etc. At Twin Oaks, it's all inclusive! The only vendors I needed to worry about was the photographer, DJ and florist. And they even have recommendations for those vendors if you don't already have someone in mind. I went with one of their DJ recommendations and he was amazing!!As part of the package, you get three coordinating meetings and a food tasting. I worked with Natalie and she was so great! She clearly knew what she was doing, and her calm, easy going but extremely organized manner was exactly what any bride would want to help keep any unnecessary stress down! I didn't have to worry about anything leading up to the wedding or on the actual wedding day. I even had my own bridal assistant the day of! Talk about service! My wedding day went so smooth - we stayed on schedule (I was worried about this as I didn't want anything cutting into our open dance time!), all the day-off staff, Natalie included were fantastic and all of our guests had an amazing time! I still get raves from friends and family about how perfect the day was, how beautiful the venue was, how yummy the food was and how attentive and friendly everyone working was! I want to go back and do it all over! Seriously best day ever and I would highly, HIGHLY, recommend this venue for your wedding! They customize everything to meet your needs!! They are the BEST! We had the honor of working with Selena and Kelsey through our coordination process and they made it entirely stress free and painless. Kelsey was our day-of coordinator and if something did go wrong on our big day, I still have no clue because she is a complete and total rockstar and handled everything. Adam Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2017 My husband and I were married here last weekend and... Truthfully, it's hard to write a review because the whole day left me breathless. The venue provides wedding coordination, and you have the opportunity to meet with the staff three times before the wedding. There is also a culinary meeting in which you get to taste all the foods (included in their wedding packages) and meet with the kitchen staff and chef to review menu choices. The week before the wedding, the venue and culinary staff followed up with me to make sure everything was on track. The day before the wedding, we had a rehearsal and met with our day-of coordinator; I left feeling assured and prepared for our wedding day.On June 4th, I arrived at the venue with my maids and we were met by the bridal assistant who told me to \"Boss her around!\" She was lovely. So helpful, but not pushy, and helped me with all sorts of things on the big day (including holding my wine while the photographer took pictures and helping me carry my big, poofy dress!). The wedding coordinator and quality assurance manager checked in with me and my husband throughout the day to make sure things were going according to plan, letting us know if measures were taken when plans changed, and were overall attentive without being bothersome. All in all, we felt that we were in good hands. I think many negative reviews come from a lack of communication. If you are looking for someone to plan your wedding for you, then you may be disappointed. I am an involved bride and checked in periodically with my florist, DJ, photographer, and the venue to make sure everyone was on the same page leading up to the big day. I found that keeping the venue appraised and up-to-date throughout the wedding process really better equipped me and the staff in having a smooth and beyond-satisfactory wedding day. Truly, I can't thank Twin Oaks House and its marvelous staff enough. We couldn't be happier; the day went off without a hitch and we are so grateful! Reviewed on 14-06-2017

My husband & I had looked at 8 venues before this one. Luckily a family friend had been to a wedding here & recommended it. The second we pulled up the driveway, I knew that this was it. I was so nervous the entire walk through, because I thought there was no way it was within our budget. I was so happy I was wrong!! We booked an off season month ( March) and a weekday (Thursday) and the pricing was perfect. Plus it's pretty much all inclusive! There were no extra add ons that were unexpected like we had found at other venues. Also includes 3 coordinators for the wedding day, something was was definitely not included at other spaces we had looked at. We booked that day!(As a side note to couples nervous about booking on a weekday, since we were too - only 10 of our guests weren't able to come. Most everyone made it work & just made a long fun weekend out of it :) ) My husband & I both work at a resort & see weddings everyday. We wanted something different than the beach, a golf course, winery, and something super GREEN! This venue is ALL green, twinkle lights, has chandeliers through the trees, no buildings to be seen whatsoever. Truly the most romantic, fairytale like venue we were looking for. It's beyond anything we could have hoped for.The staff is superb. From our first encounter to the day of our wedding, everything was so easy & stress free. You don't just get one contact, any time you call/email, anyone is able to respond & is familiar with your file. Our main day coordinator Vanessa was AMAZING! So sweet & helpful with all my last minute annoying bride emails, and the day of made me feel so at ease, and kept everything flowing & on track. I also had one other coordinator in our bridal suite ( I forget her name :( ) that was so amazing about always keeping our champagne coming, even through pictures, and even helped fluff out my long train & veil right before my main walk down the aisle. I was so grateful for that!!! :)The food was phenomenal! We wanted to do something different than the basic steak, chicken or fish. The chef was extremely flexible and was excited to give us a different menu of gourmet sliders, fries and mac n cheese with appetizers like chicken empanadas and fried ravioli. Our guests LOVED it!!They are also known for being totally flexible with alcohol & allow you to bring your own, and just charge a bartender fee. So we bought wholesale wine and beer and their bartenders were awesome. We were allowed to use the second, back-up bar as a photo booth with our own props and Polaroid camera to save us money and still have a photo booth at no extra cost. That was VERY cool :)Of course we didn't get to enjoy our amazing food as much as we would have liked to since guests were pulling us every which way, but Vanessa boxed up a VERY large amount of a little bit of everything, which we were so happy for, and ate the amazing leftovers everyday before we left for our honeymoon (so awesome not having to cook! :p )All of our guests have been telling us it was one of the most beautiful & amazing weddings they have ever been to. The planning committee made making all the little decisions easy and executed all of the day of set up/break down so we didn't have to think about anything. The only hiccup we encountered was that they hadn't laid out enough chairs in the ceremony site and had to postpone the start time so they could pull out more. There are so many cute little touches through out, it feels like you're in a fairy garden. We told them what our budget was and we were open to off season and weekdays. To our surprise we were able to book Twin Oaks! 3/9/17 was our wedding day and it was more than perfect! They give you 3 meetings leading up to your day to make sure you are on track with planning. But they are available through phone or email whenever you have a question. The caterer they use has some of the best food we ever had. They also give you a cutting cake as part of your package. The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous, romantic, and intimate/private. I didn't want a wedding where others could join / look in so this was perfect. The bridal suite is UNREAL it's so vintage, historic and gorgeous. If you want photos that look like they're from a wedding magazine then this is the place for you. \r\rThe staff is on top of it! They only do one wedding a day and know the business of weddings in and out. I think I worked with every single planner they have, and every time I called, emailed, or met with them they had all communicated so I didn't have to repeat myself. They were extremely helpful through the whole process whether it was recommending outside preferred vendors (who were great), helping with logistics or reminding me what we had discussed. I was very impressed with their customer service through the 10 months I worked with them, as well as over the moon happy with my day of experience. \r\rAlmost every attendee at my wedding commented on how amazing the venue was. It's gorgeous and at night the twinkle lights make it look like a fairytale. My day of coordinators were Kelsey and Hannah and they treated me like a queen, and they were so on top of the entire schedule. You can't go wrong with any of them. I didn't have to think of any planning that day, which was a big relief. \r\rThe only downside (and it isn't that big of a deal) was that it was NOT long enough. I do wish they were flexible on shutting the bar down at 9:30pm, and ending strictly at 10pm. The day is short as it is so I would have liked to keep the dancing going a bit longer, but other than that...it is a perfect place for a wedding. I highly recommend it. Reviewed on 22-09-2015

You truly feel like you have stepped into a fairy tale when you enter through the ivy-covered trellis. Many of our guests commented on how unique and beautiful the property is. They even allow you to use pieces from their antique furniture collection in your wedding decor. And since they only do one wedding per day, you are not rushed and there is ample parking for your guests.\r\rThe cost of the venue includes coordination services (3 meetings) as well as a lot of the decor that is an up charge at other venues. They really strive to make it easy for you to design the wedding of your dreams. The bride and her wedding party get to spend several hours before the wedding relaxing in the schoolhouse-turned-bridal suite. This provides a great setting for photos and merriment. They even have a huge mirror with a pedestal step so that you can put on your wedding dress and see it in its entirety. Towards the end, the coordinators seemed so fake, and they made me feel so uncomfortable, but that was only their administration. Everything else was perfect. We have gotten nothing but amazing reviews of our wedding. A lot of people have said it is the best venue they've ever been to. There's a lot of regulations on outside food (even snacks like chocolate), and the music, so just be aware of that. Reviewed on 04-02-2015

The wedding planners really helped me out a lot and made the planning process as stressful as possible. They were all soo nice. Our wedding went off without a hitch, if there was anything that went wrong attendant handled it right away so I wouldn't be bothered. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking (note: every time you go, they get prettier and prettier!) The staff was absolutely top quality. Twin Oaks was our first venue we looked at, and we knew immediately that this was the place for us and these were the people we wanted to work with. They were always 10 steps ahead of any questions or concerns I had, extremely organized, and provided top service every step of the way. \r\rI've been to weddings where the entire wedding party and more are running around the day of the wedding, setting up centerpieces, explaining to vendors how things should look, etc. Never would that happen at Twin Oaks. I did not have a single concern about the wedding day and how they would execute what we had discussed in our planning meetings. They did not disappoint in the slightest. \r\rTo our coordinator, Dana, and my lovely \"lady in waiting\" Erin, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Jamie Mountford(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-04-2014 Twin Oaks is an absolutely gorgeous garden venue. I was married there on April 12, 2014. My husband and I fell in love with the property on our first visit. We didn't even look at any other venues. We booked it immediately and we never regretted that decision. \rLet's start with the venue's most obvious benefit. The entire property is gorgeous. The gardens are lush and beautiful. The twinkle light walkways are so romantic at night. The tented reception has lovely and elegant details. The antique bridal suite and the totally awesome bar are fabulous. I could go on and on. The venue is beautiful. AND they are constantly improving it. Since booking the venue last year, they have added several wonderful areas. The whole place is just lovely and you feel wonderful walking around the property. ALL of our pictures turned out beautifully. Our photographers were SUPER excited because there are so many great spots to use for taking pictures. \rThe staff at Twin Oaks is also excellent. Every single coordinator and staff member that we worked with was wonderful. They all put such care into their work and it shows. Everyone is polite and respectful. The coordinators help plan your special day and show such patience and enthusiasm during each meeting. I felt VIP every time I called with a question. Emails were always responded to promptly. \rOn the day of the ceremony, you have a dedicated day-of coordinator and your own personal bridal assistant. Both my coordinator (Chris) and my assistant (Rebecca) were fantastic. Chris made everything run smoothly - there were absolutely NO issues (and if there were, I didn't know about them). All of my bridesmaids and I LOVED Rebecca. She made the day seem really special by taking care of every detail as we got ready before the ceremony. She was so much fun, too. She was constantly checking with me to see if I needed anything or straightening my dress. \rI used their preferred DJ Vendor Mark Huntzinger and their recommended florist Jerri Disney. Both were wonderful and I highly recommend them as well. \rI could go on and on about this place. I loved everything about Twin Oaks and several of my guests are now hoping they will get married here as well because they loved it so much too. I really can't stop gushing to everyone. My (now husband, yay!) and I thought they were professional, easy to work with, and met almost all our expectations.\r\rPros:\r- They Do almost EVERYTHING. Food. Cake. Set Up, Tear Down. Even packing up all your decor at the end of the night so you can put it in your car. I was surprised at the day of bridal helper I got too - so clutch.\r- Meetings were useful and made our wedding planning much easier. See my other reviews for those.\r- Gorgeous venue! Seriously, every single picture we have from our wedding is ridiculously beautiful. \r\rCONS:\r- Fairly pricey, but you can bring your own booze!\r- We paid extra for the \"gourmet\" food and while the filet was quite delicious, the salmon was definitely overcooked and quite dry.\r- Even though you can bring your own booze, the bartender is $650...for the night.\r- You need to be flexible for meeting times, since they don't have many on weekends (due to weddings, of course)\r\rAt the end of the day, despite the cons, they definitely earned their 5 stars. Kristen Henkins(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-09-2013 The house & gardens of Twin Oaks is beautiful in ways that are hard to describe. It is a little like stepping back in time, like stepping into an English country garden from the Edwardian era. The gazebo and lawn is an ideal for a ceremony. We had a Hindu ceremony with a \"mandap\" placed in front of the gazebo, which looked beautiful in front of the gazebo. Although there are small restrictions on items, we felt Twin Oaks was very accommodating for almost all the things we wanted to bring in and arrange in a certain way. On the day of the wedding, the event coordinators arranged everything perfectly and everything went like clockwork. We want to especially thank Elyse and Rachel for being (a) so friendly and easy to work with, and (b) so efficient and making everything happen the way we wanted. \r\rAlthough the cost at first seemed a little pricey, they provided so much for the ceremony and the reception, the grounds are super well-maintained and beautiful, and the food was amazing (and abundant throughout the night) - that we thought it was a great value. \r\rOur 1 complaint is that we had different \"coordinators\" for each of the required 3 meetings, which meant (a) constantly having to restate the details from 1 meeting to the next, even though things were written down, and (b) having to re-confirm special arrangements each time, which always made us nervous. As I said earlier, in the end, everything we wanted was done the way we wanted, but it was concerning to think that on actual day of the wedding, we would have to re-confirm something else. \r\rBut the staff was always very friendly and helpful, in person, over the phone, and via email, and replied in timely manners. arnhemjim (parent)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2013 There are a divergent range of reviews on Twin Oaks Garden Estate. If human they would be diagnosed as clinically schizophrenic. What is also clearly evident,is that they are in it for every dollar they can squeeze out of each event. A direct correlation can be drawn between a weddingâs budget, level of service provided, and level of praise offered in the review. Unfortunately my wife (mother of the groom) and I have been left with a bittersweet taste of the âtotal experienceâ Twin Oaks provided her son and the bride.\r\rFirst was the loss of two cameras, and their recorded memories of the wedding. In the case of my wifeâs pocket digital camera, it was a direct result of rank incompetence (bordering on premeditated intent) as well as an abject lack of professionalism by one of their staff, namely the assigned âwedding coordinatorâ.\r\rWe were the first of the guests down the aisle to be seated. The woman assigned as âcoordinatorâ strongly suggested that she take my wifeâs camera, in order that my wife be âunencumberedâ. She was persistent over my repeated objections, even though it was a very small camera, which could have been easily put in my trouser pocket, or carried in my wifeâs hand. My wife, not wanting to appear to be making a scene, deferred, handing the camera directly (eyeball-to-eyeball) to the woman. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME WE SAW THE CAMERA.\r\rCommon sense and courtesy, as well as expected protocol, would have seen that the âcoordinatorâ, following the ceremony would have sought out, and promptly returned my wifeâs camera directly to her either during the taking of family wedding photographs, or in the reception/wedding dinner area. THIS DID NOT OCCUR.\r\rAccording to the womanâs alleged statement, she âset the camera down on one of the tables in the bridesmaidâs anti-room of the bridal houseâ, a semi-private area, unmonitored by staff, readily accessible to all members of the bridal party, as well as any other person on the premises.\r\rSecond camera to have been âmisplacedâ was the father of the groomâs digital video camera. He left it on his chair, which he slid under the table and tablecloth. With the event over he went to retrieve his camera. Not there or anywhere else. IT TOO WAS GONE.\r\rReported the missing cameras to Twin Oaks the very next day, 1 September 2013, a senior member of their staff made a cursory investigation (statement by the âwedding coordinatorâ cited above). Nothing mentioned about the video camera.\r\rHad not spoken to anyone at Twin Oaks staff until returning to Arizona the following week (3 September 2013). Had extended telephone conversation with Sean (last name unknown; mentioned other reviews of the facility, and understand to be one of their managers). After explaining in detail the circumstances, I requested that if the cameras could not be recovered that Twin Oaks financially compensate for their loss. In order to buy time, he was rather ambivalent, not specifically stating that we would be compensated.\r\rGiven the circumstances on the digital camera being clearly defined, he adroitly chose rather to focus on the video camera. He indicated that the facility had surveillance camera(s) monitoring the reception/dinner area, and that he would immediately review the tape.\r\rI was assured of a âfollow upâ, and in any event he would âget backâ to me with a resolution. As of 6 October have heard nothing. Reviewed on 06-10-2013

This really takes all of their wedding portraits to the next level. The bridal suite was absolutely incredible and made the perfect backdrop for getting ready portraits. It had more than enough room for all the girls to get ready comfortably. The ceremony site is secluded and serene with lots of trees surrounding this pretty white gazebo. It made their ceremony with their guests feel intimate and romantic. The reception area has these gorgeous crystal chandeliers hanging down that added a touch of elegance to the room. The food was the best that we've ever had at a venue and we shoot a lot of weddings! The light at the venue was perfect at all hours of the day with a plethora of places to take portraits at. \r\rThe Staff: The thing that made the biggest impression on us was the staff. We were blown away by how attentive they were to our couple. When they were taking portraits with us they had someone assigned to follow us to help them right away if they needed anything. They moved tables for us that were in the way of pictures that we needed to take, brought them water because it was hot and helped re-route guests when the bride didn't want to be seen before the ceremony. Holly Lindberg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-12-2011 I can't give enough stars to Twin Oaks House & Gardens for their amazing support, assistance and attention to detail to our wedding. They literally saved our wedding from collapse when our initial venue folded up shop and disappeared with our deposit. Twin Oaks stepped in and created a package that fit our budget and dreams. The venue is immaculately decorated, the staff is exceptionally helpful and kind and my guests had a blast. This is a unique venue that can't be compared to any other location in the San Diego area. Set in the gardens surrounding an 1871 one-room schoolhouse, the fountains, statues, flowers, and twinkle lights are all perfectly placed for maximum enchanting viewing pleasure. I loved working with Sean, the GM, and his awesome staff! This one stop shop made everything so much easier! Their in house catering is to die for and their decorations shop has everything you would ever need! Reviewed on 20-12-2011

Emily Wendt(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-06-2011 My Husband and I knew the moment we arrived at Twin Oaks that we wanted to get married there. The venue is so gorgeous and was exactly what we were looking for. When we sat down with the owner, Karen, and coordinators, Megan and Sean, we were even more thrilled with Twin Oaks. They help you find vendors, plan every detail, and handle everything on the day of your wedding. They also have an amazing chef and pastry chef. I am still hearing comments on how amazing the food and cake were at our wedding. The biggest compliment that I can give the staff is that everytime I left a consultation meeting I felt less stressed and more excited and on the day of my wedding I was not worried about anything that was going on outside of the bridal suite. My mother and I were both able to enjoy the moments before the wedding and not be running around handling details because we knew that they could handle everything. I can not say enough amazing things about Twin Oaks. If you are looking for a romatic garden venue for you wedding Twin Oaks House and Gardens is perfect! Reviewed on 25-10-2011

The property is pristine and the staff is always friendly and timely. I am amazed at all the thought and personal touches they include to make each wedding personal and classy. They even tied a flowers in the wedding colors around the swing on the property. And the FOOD..., I look forward to dinner time as the meal has always been amazing! Miriam Fedorovich(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2011 I fell in love with this venue even before I was engaged. I stumbled across their website when I was searching for a garden wedding venue, but I knew it would be a while before we got married so I put it in my back pocket until the time came. When we finally did visit it (by the way this was the first and only place we looked) it was even better than what the pictures could show. Perfectly nestled between orange orchards and horse ranches, a lush country garden beneath the lacy shade of eucalyptus trees surrounds an antique yellow school house. All over the grounds there are such sweet touches; a chalkboard that they wrote our names on and a poem on our wedding day, an old metal and wood swing hanging between two trees, crystal chandeliers hanging from trees, fountains and statues of love birds and angels placed perfectly amongst the flowerbeds. \r Everyone working there was so friendly and helpful too. They usually ask for 18 months before to reserve your date, but they were able to work with us to give us a date that was only 6 months away. 6 months to plan an entire wedding??? I thought it would be impossible, but with the staff at Twin Oaks and all the amenities that are provided with the wedding package: meal, cake, set up/tear down and wedding planning, the stress was taken out completely! Even the chef worked with us to create a custom dish, since we are both vegetarian and wanted something that would be filling and delicious for our guests who are also vegetarian, without being pasta. When we booked the place they gave us a wedding planing book that included everything from budget and timeline completion worksheets to where to have guests stay around the area. During our engagement we set up three meetings to go over wedding details. Because we had the venue all to ourselves for the whole day we were even able to bring some fun elements to our wedding that they helped set up, like cornhole, bocci ball and a photobooth.\r Our wedding day went so smoothly. All I had to do was show up, enjoy mimosas and appetizers with my bridesmaids in the bridal suite, which also happens to be the school house and has really beautiful lighting, with my bridesmaids while getting ready, I even had a lady in waiting! Our wedding turned out more beautiful than I ever imagined! We got so many compliments from our guests on everything! They loved the food, they loved the cake, and they all especially loved the venue! Saying our vows beneath the canopy of eucalyptus trees in front of a picturesque white gazebo was truly a dream come true. Reviewed on 21-07-2011
Cristina Clifford(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-05-2011 I was recently married at Twin Oaks on 5/1/2011 and I have to say it was the most PERFECT wedding I could have imagined. Even driving to our hotel that night, my husband and I kept saying that we could not have imagined a more perfect wedding. \rEveryone at Twin Oaks is sooo fabulous and attentive to exactly any and everything that you need. Mariah was my main attendant for my wedding and what a god send! You have probably read reviews about the actual venue...SPECTACULAR!!! They are constantly improving the grounds. I booked my wedding in 4/2010 assuming what it looked like would be the same (b/c it was already so great) and each time I came in for a meeting, they had something new to show me that had been added or changed to the property. They are truly here for you to have an amazing experience and be able to enjoy it.\rI was so calm my entire day and it was due to Twin Oaks staff. (And BTW, I never had a bad experience with Karen, or anyone there!) \rIf you have any reservations about booking your wedding here, DON'T! You will not be disappointed.\r****NOTE ABOUT COST****\rI put the total cost for service which included the ceremony and reception site, bridal quarters for the day, catering (great food!) linens, chairs and all that stuff, my cake AND wedding coorinators for the entire process and day of. WELL WORTH IT!! Reviewed on 23-05-2011
Stephenie Kimener(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-03-2011 My husband and I could not have been happier with this location! They were able to pull together all of our ideas and take the stress off. They are willing to work with you and rearrange what is already on the property. It is such a dreamy location with the perfect balance of vintage/rustic and classy elegance! I would recommend it to anyone! The food is 5 star and the old fashion bar is show stopping!! The price is also very, very reasonable for a San Diego wedding location. We love Twin Oaks!! Sean is great to work with and VERY good at what he does. At the wedding he was always available but, also remained in the background. Along with the other staff too. Very professional and very friendly! Reviewed on 02-04-2011
Sarah Spencer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-07-2010 I had my wedding at Twin Oaks this past summer and it was perfect. The day could not have gone any better. The whole process was great. A lot of things are included at this venue including the cake. If the cake is super important to you, you might want to consider bringing in your own cake. The cake was delicious, but not as professional looking as I was expecting. The cake was not an important detail to me, so it didn't matter. But if you really want an out of this world cake, I would bring in a cake. Other than that, everything was splendid. I had an amazing wedding and the staff at Twin Oaks helped to make it that way :) Reviewed on 16-11-2010
