About This Vendor

Danforth Chapel was dedicated in 1946. It was named after William Danforth whose grant from the Danforth Foundation provided the impetus for beginning construction. Students and faculty also contributed money and labor to see their site for meditation become a reality. The Chapel is nondenominational and provides a quiet place for individual meditation and prayer. It is also used for ceremonies (weddings, commitment ceremonies, christenings, and appropriate student activities).

This was perfect for us as we met and attended KU. If you are a current student the cost is $200, but if you are an alumni you pay the same amount as anyone else from the public, which I thought was okay...It was a little disappointing because I had just graduated in May and had my wedding in June and had to pay $500 instead of $200. $100 is the cleaning deposit so make sure you have someone clean up or you don't get it back. You get one hour the night before for rehearsal which is reasonable. 2 hours for the ceremony. The attendant was a little late unlocking the doors for the ceremony....It's good for a small wedding. Capacity is 90.
