If I could give this wedding venue 10 stars I would! My daughter had her wedding at Waterloo Village on 1/1/24. Waterloo was exactly what my daughter and her fiance' dreamed of. Everything about our experience with Jeffrey A. Miller was outstanding. From the moment my husband and I stepped foot on the grounds we knew this was exactly what our daughter envisioned. We were met by Diane who was so kind! She showed us all around the grounds and inside all the buildings and explained all the different options we could choose from. Waterloo Village is the perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding day. The food is outstanding and there are so many fun options to choose from. The rustic wedding decor and what is included makes planning a wedding so much easier. Between Diane and our wedding coordinator, Tessa, all our questions were answered, and they always got back to us right away. It was just an amazing day and there would not be a single thing we would change. I definitely recommend Waterloo Village and JAM for your wedding! You will not be disappointed. I hope I can have another event here!! It was so very enjoyable. Reviewed on 17-01-2024

They say that your wedding day is the best day of your life and thanks to Waterloo Village Weddings ours really was! Everything about our experience with JAM and Waterloo Village Weddings was absolutely perfect. What drew us to this venue initially (aside from the idyllic location) was that they are a one-stop shop. Not having to coordinate with a venue, a caterer, a cake maker, a decorations rental and all of the other things you find out you need when planning a wedding made the experience so easy. It was so easy to pick our menus and really customize them to what we wanted. The rentable decor available was perfect for the look we were wanting and really created the rustic, country wedding of our dreams. And Christine and her team coordinated every detail with our outside vendors, as well. The team at Waterloo really know what they are doing and the pride they take in making your day perfect shows in so many ways. On our wedding day, it was windy and we were faced with the tough decision to move our ceremony inside. Christine (our Waterloo Coordinator) pulled together the most beautiful indoor ceremony for us. We were married in the Mule Barn which was just absolutely stunning. And the best part was we didn’t have to do anything! Christine and her team coordinated with our vendors and let them know of the new plan before I could even type a text message. Throughout the whole day, the entire staff made sure my wife and I always had full drinks and were eating the amazing food they had prepared for us. Our guests could not stop raving about the food! Honestly, it was so good! When it came to the end of the night, they already had all of our personal items packed up neatly and even broke down our chuppah and put it back in the rental truck for us. The team was incredible and really made it so that we could just enjoy the day and our guests. \tI could go on forever about how amazing Christine and her team at Waterloo Village, JAM, and just the whole experience was but just know that you will NOT regret having your wedding here. For the money you are paying you really get so MUCH MORE with JAM and Waterloo Village events! Hands down the best venue and catering company in Northern New Jersey. Reviewed on 27-11-2023
Waterloo Village is such a beautiful, breathtaking venue. The team that I worked with was so accommodating and thoughtful. I didn't have one worry about the details of my wedding day. They took care of the decor, coordinating my vendors the day of, and the food was outstanding! It wound up raining a little on my wedding day and the staff did everything they could to keep my ceremony outside. They even drove me and my wedding party around on golf carts to get any photo we wanted on the property. 12/10 would recommend!! Reviewed on 31-10-2023

I will be getting married here December 2024 and I have to say that everything thus far has been nothing short of amazing! When I first inquired about them, Diane, got back to me right away and we set up a meeting to tour the venue! Walking the path leading to the meeting house where our reception will be, I already knew I had to get married here and so did my fiance. The rustic decor and what is included was what sold us! From the lanterns, centerpieces, seating chart signs, I fell in love. I was also very excited that we will get a day of coordinator and that the food is grown on premises! We booked right away and since then, they have actively kept in contact making sure we know about open houses so we can come play with what we want to do at our wedding, and just keeping us in the know on events. We attended an open house in July and was so glad we did! We were able to bring a couple people from our bridal party, and we got to speak to coordinators, play with our centerpieces, and we got to try some of the food! Everything was delicious. We can not wait for our big day! You can not go wrong with going with Waterloo! Reviewed on 15-08-2023

We found the planning process to be a breeze and were so glad that they had time lines and such in place to make the process easier. What we didn't count on was having such an amazing event coordinator. Kasia was such a pleasure to work with. She was able to work with the catering team to get us a custom flavor for our cake, with a tasting cake to try before the big day. Meeting with her was wonderful as she's so organized and was able to help us figure out not only what we had forgotten, but also things we wanted that we hadn't even considered. She was able to execute our vision perfectly, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The food was amazing and all our guests were so impressed with the attention to detail, the quality of the food, and how much fun it was. Kasia was so great at relieving us of some of our wedding stress and the day of all we had to do was show up and enjoy ourselves knowing that everything else was handled. There are so many options and combinations for food that you really are able to customize your menu to whatever you like. We did the most basic menu for dinner which was the duet with the addition of 3 stations for the cocktail hour and 2 for dessert. We had 165 people and we felt like the additions to the cocktail hour were necessary based on the amount of passed hors d'oeuvres and harvest table. Michael Lowenthal(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-04-2019 Waterloo Village was everything we we're looking for and more. When we started the process of looking for a venue we knew we wanted something rustic and we knew we wanted something with air conditioning. (we aren't that rustic) Initially, when we started looking we kept coming across different barns and other rentable spaces where we would have to bring everything in, tables, chairs, even dance floors in some cases. Then we stumbled upon Waterloo Village, we went to visit and they had every detail that we're looking for, everything was perfect, the tables, the chairs, little lighting details, giant fire places, a fire pit, a wood fired brick oven for pizzas, a sperate building for the cocktail hour and the gorgeous back drop of a the State park. It was the only venue we looked at and we signed two days later. We booked in October of '17 our date was 4-27-19 so we had plenty of time to plan. Waterloo has multiple open houses throughout the year so you can go up and get a feel for the space and ask questions, get measurements, or bring in your outside vendors to check out the space. We went up multiple times and really utilized these open houses to customize our day, plus we really liked going up there just to check out the park which has a canal and a little waterfall and great old buildings that were really great back drops for our pictures. We did our tasting in March of '18, we realized we got so swept up in the look of the venue that we never tried the food. Waterloo does their tastings in groups based on when your date is. It is set up like a mini wedding, you and other couples go to a cocktail hour and then to the main building for a dinner and dessert. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. We were totally blown away everything was so good. Also during the tasting there are outside vendors that are also invited, and it was great being able to talk with other couples to share ideas about planning. About 5 months before our date we were assigned our planner, Kasia. Kasia was great, when we first met we hit it off right a way, we started with finalizing our menu and creating a plan for day-of. Over the next few months is when the real nerves start to hit and whenever we needed her Kasia was there to calm us down and tell us we were doing great and on track with our day. As we got closer she also helped us organize our outside vendors (florist, photo, photo booth etc) and make sure everyone was on the same page and taking alot of the burden and worry off us. The day of was AMAZING. Absolutely perfect. Everything went seamlessly. Everyone raved about the food. All of our small details were perfectly in place. Kasia made sure we stayed on track all day, even found us ten mins to decompress after the ceremony and get ready to enjoy the night. We had people contacting us the week after the wedding and telling us they were still on a high from the day. We absolutely loved Waterloo Village. If you're looking for a Rustic type venue with really top notch food and a beautiful background, I don't think you will find one better than Waterloo in New Jersey. Reviewed on 15-05-2019

Maria has been so helpful with all of our questions and concerns, the tasting was unlike anything I've ever seen!! The food was PHENOMENAL and I come from a restaurant background. The tasting felt more like attending a wedding than anything else, from the passed apps, open bar, cocktails, stations, table service to live music and decor, it was beyond my expectations. I've been to several tastings with friends/family, none even compared. The food options were so unique and customizable. I'm all about sustainability and their seasonal farm to table style fit perfectly in that. Considering how many add ons we chose and the options we selected, their pricing is SOOO reasonable. Beyond the catering, the space is gorgeous. The grounds are vast and have so many beautiful nooks for photos. I love that they provide yard games for cocktail hour too. If nothing else, people are going to walk out of our wedding saying that it was fun and unique. I cannot wait to see our whole vision come together but I have absolutely no doubt it'll be amazing! Sarah Schmidt(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2018 My husband and I got married at Waterloo Village on 10/13/18. I cannot begin to explain how perfect our day and entire experience was. From the first day that we went to the venue and met with Maria we knew that this was our venue. The open house that we went to was comprehensive and Maria was quick to give us a tour around the property. We fell in love immediately. From the meeting house to all the beautiful options for ceremony locations we knew it was the place for us. I highly recommend doing the tasting- they have all couples getting married that year or first half of the year and it really is like a party itself. You get to try all the amazing food and also mingle with other couples which was great. Our planner was Christina and she was great. I have to say, in the beginning there was not a ton of communication (we booked about a year and 10 months before our date) which was a little nerve wracking but honestly there is little need for communication up front because they have everything taken care of and everything was absolutely perfect the day of. Christina was communicative in the weeks leading up to the wedding which is the most important part. She pulled everything off so effortlessly and perfectly the day of the wedding. Our flower girl fell in some mud in her white dress and Christina immediately brought her back to the bathroom and fixed her up as if nothing ever happened! She was always nearby in case we had anything come up during the reception that we needed her for.For our day, we got married in the mule barn which was a dream! The mule is so beautiful with little to no decorations and was a great indoor option as we were a little nervous about the fall weather. The cocktail hour was a big hit- we picked one station (the BBQ in a jar) and people raved about it. We had 150 people and I think the one station was fine for that amount of people. The reception was flawless! The food was amazing, and the wait staff, bartender, and captain were all so friendly and accommodating. We had the braised short ribs, chicken and a salmon dish. All were delicious- the short ribs were my favorite! We did the cannoli station for dessert and it was the perfect addition to our delicious wedding cake. We also did a groom’s cake that the staff decorated so perfectly! I think it even got more comments than our actual wedding cake! Overall the day at Waterloo Village could not have been more perfect. We wish we could do it all over again and are trying to convince all our friends to get married here so we can go to another wedding as a guest! We just recently got married on October 14 and all I have to say is WOW! This venue is amazing. Everything was beyond perfect, the food, the flow of the evening, the decor, literally everything. The staff are highly qualified and really know what they are doing. All couples who get married here or have a reception here are assigned a venue planner. Christina was our venue planner and she was instrumental in the success of the day. We can't thank her enough. Not a thing was overlooked. The best part about this venue is that nearly everything was included in the wedding package, the only other things we needed to take care of were the music and the photographer. THAT'S IT. We were definitely a more non-traditional couple, but even so the venue accommodated everything we asked. We even had pie instead of cake, what could be better! Melissa Cameron(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 We had our wedding just a few weeks ago (September 15) and it was truly a dream come true. Waterloo Village is an absolutely stunning location and such a gem. I grew up going on field trips here and when I learned that we could host our reception here, I was so excited. From the very start, Maria worked with us as we set our wedding date and was always so warm, friendly, and accommodating. She answered our large list of questions and we knew from day one we were in great hands. Christina was our planner and worked with us to establish a lot of the nitty gritty details: menu, decorations, logistics. She was an absolute delight to work with and always promptly responded to our questions as well. We had probably a total of 3 site visits to Waterloo in the course of the year, and every time, Maria and Christina treated us like family. On the day of our wedding, their hard work and dedication throughout the year truly shined. Our reception was fantastic and we are still dreaming about it. Everything we discussed with Christina came to life. The room was absolutely stunning- we received so many compliments. Countless guests remarked at how delicious the food was, noting its high quality and freshness. Our guests loved the games, the fire pit, and being able to hang out outside-something which was always key to our vision. We have had a number of guests also compliment the true level of detail they observed throughout the evening- for example, the wine glasses and beer at cocktail hour were already poured and ready for guests to grab. This made for many happy guests and helped with the flow of our large crowd of about 180 people. The space itself fit everyone comfortably. There were also snacks and champagne that was waiting for us in the bridal cottage-this was such a nice touch on top of what was already such a lovely space. This was not an easy decision for us to make but Tessa our planner gave us until 1PM the day of the wedding (which is very generous) to make the final decision; and honestly we all agreed the ceremony was even more beautiful in the Mule barn than it ever could have been outside. Throughout the night my husband and I got endless compliments about how beautiful our ceremony was, how amazing the grounds are and how unbelievably good the food was! I think about half the guests , if not more, told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Tessa was our planner and made us feel so special the day of. She really went above and beyond making the mule barn and every other detail just perfect for us. The fire pit after party was also just amazing. Everyone loved the pizza, I am still hearing from guests how good it was! My husband and I can not stop talking about how amazing Waterloo, Tessa, Maria and the entire JAM team was. The manager of the location, Maria, is so incredibly nice and I'm so glad she was with us for the whole journey. Whenever I had a question or concern she would get back to me quickly with all the information I needed.Delicious is not a strong enough word to describe the food that JAM makes. We received so many compliments about the food served during cocktail hour and dinner. The pork belly...wow. We had a family style meal where we got to pick 2 entrees which were served on platters along with various sides on each table. This way our guests could choose what they wanted to eat as if they were at a family dinner. It was the best decision we could have made and was such a hit with everyone. I wish JAM had a restaurant so that I can eat their food whenever I want. Seriously good food.We had originally decided not to have an appetizer because cocktail hour is just a bunch of apps. But JAM's gardens produced too many greens and with winter coming they wanted to use them up. So they offered to make a garden salad app free of charge instead of letting them go to waste. My only complaint about JAM is that when the florist dropped off our flowers for the groomsmen and family, our coordinator didn't make sure that everyone got their flowers. When I asked where the flowers were after noticing that family members were not wearing the boutonnieres and wristlets I ordered for them, she didn't know where the flowers had ended up. Other than that, she was on top of everything else and made sure all the decorations were perfectly placed. One of the things I love about JAM is that so much is included in the price. We got a 5 hour deluxe open bar, no extra charge. And if you have any guests under 21, the price for them is less because they won't be drinking alcohol. The cake is also included in the price which takes some stress away from having to find a bakery. There's also a ton of decorations included that go perfectly with the rustic aesthetic of the venue. They really try hard to make your wedding day as painless and affordable as possible. It was a dream of a wedding and was so incredibly beautiful I'm still having a hard time believing it was real. Loreana Taner(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-02-2019 I had my wedding at Waterloo in early November and it was truly an amazing event! I received endless compliments about the food. The dinner and cocktail hour options are so interesting and delicious; there is truly no other wedding your guests will go to that has a similar menu. We also had a special request for a cocktail hour station that the chef was able to create for us. They are very flexible with the food options! Our planner was Christina and she is truly amazing. We requested to move our ceremony spot from outside to inside about 5 hours before the wedding start time and she accommodated happily and it was probably MORE gorgeous than it would've originally been! Anything we asked of her was fulfilled, and she was constantly asking my husband and I if we needed anything throughout the reception. We weren't able to have our rehearsal on site, and she had everyone lined up and and walking as if we had practiced 100 times. I cannot say enough good things about Christina. The reason I am stressing how good our actual day was is because leading up to the day was very stressful and confusing. I found out about two months out that there was a minimum guest count for the after party. I also heard about 3 different responses when asked what the minimum guest count was for the reception. They also require/highly suggest that you put a menu selection card in your invitation, which I would imagine would have to be told at the time of signing the contract as I had already sent my invitations out when we met for menu selections. I will say again that everything worked out at the end and everyone I worked with was very helpful, but ask questions, ask questions, ask questions! One reason we chose Waterloo was because almost everything is included. They have hundreds of included decorations and rental options (won't find that anywhere else), a day-of coordinator/planner, tables, chairs, linens, champagne glasses, liquor and equipment, and plenty of food! For the price, the value is all there. What's not included are those annoying fees that all other venues have and gratuity, which they stress is all based on performance! The invoicing was all very straight forward and everything that was to be included was there. All in all, I am so happy we chose Waterloo and JAM catering- highly suggested! Reviewed on 05-12-2017
Allison Feldman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-10-2017 I've broken down my review into several pieces, since there is so much to take into consideration when choosing a venue!Price: Affordability is subjective, so I'll mention what is included in the price and the transparency. Their package pricing includes pretty much everything you would need for a wedding; venue, food, staff, chairs/tables/linens, decorations (!) , and most importantly a coordinator. To be honest, you could book Waterloo, a dj, a photographer, and just show up day-of and it would be a totally great wedding! For what is included in the base price packages, we found Waterloo to be a fantastic value. Not just for the tangibles, but for the benefit of having everything being done by one company. It made the wedding planning incredibly easy. We did not have to coordinate anything, it was all entirely taken care of. We also really appreciated the transparency of Waterloo's pricing. They tell you what it will be per person, and that is what it ACTUALLY IS. There are no additional service fees, and tips were repeatedly noted as optional. The bar staff did not even have a tip jar out for the wedding guests to tip them (which was ultra classy in my opinion). The add-on's that they offer are actual add-on's, as their base packages include an abundant amount of food for the cocktail hour, and a really nice open bar. Staff: The wedding coordinators are fantastic and it is AMAZING that for how helpful they are, it is included in the package. Maria was our coordinator (and I believe she is also the main person in charge of organizing + booking weddings). Leading up to the wedding Maria nailed down our day-of schedule, allowed us to come early to set up decorations, and asked us a bunch of questions to make sure everything flowed smoothly. On the day of, Maria and an assistant coordinator worked with our officiant, dj, photographer, and bridal party to get everyone to the right place at the right time. She also decorated our cake, which I realized the night before I had forgotten about. I handed her a bunch of leftover greenery from our centerpieces and asked her if she could throw them on the cake somehow. The result was beautiful, it looked extremely professional (Maria turned out to have owned a bakery in the past)! The rest of the staff was also great, everything came out on time and my dad even became friends with one of the bartenders.Food: Can’t say enough about how great the food was at our wedding! One of our favorite touches was a sampler plate of all cocktail hour foods waiting for us in the bridal cottage right after the ceremony. We were able to take a break before mingling with our guests and try everything! There was not one thing served at our wedding that we didn’t try, and it was all fantastic. The bbq in a jar was certainly a highlight! The entrees were also great, including the perfectly cooked salmon. The cake was also insane, my husband and I ate all of the leftover pieces that they gave us the very next day, four giant pieces. So delicious! Location/vibe: Waterloo Village is within Allamuchy State Park, and so it is surrounded by very picturesque woods, the canal, and some old buildings from when it was a functioning village. This meant all of our wedding photos had a variety of backgrounds and were all dreamy!Overall our experience with Waterloo could not have been better. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and different than your typical wedding venue. The planning process was easy and straight forward. They provided a group tasting that gave us insight into what our wedding itself would be life. The food options for both cocktail hour and reception were amazing. We were told over and over by guests how great and different the food was than your typical wedding. There were a couple things that did happen that we were a tad disappointed with. First, my now husband had a somewhat unpleasant interaction with an assistant on the day of the wedding when he asked if he'd be able to have a cup of coffee. Also, we planned and discussed an afterparty that was somehow overlooked on their part. They were quick, responsive and helpful when this problem was brought to their attention. Overall, these small missteps did not take away from the wonderful day and experience we had at Waterloo Village. Reviewed on 09-09-2017
Jeanine Dargis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2017 Couldn't have asked for a better wedding. Our guests raved all night about the gorgeous grounds, decorations, and food - it didn't hurt that the weather was absolutely perfect! Planning the event was relatively stress-free and Christina, our planner, was awesome. Our wedding was pretty large (about 175 people, I think capacity at the venue is 180) so the only real issue was that it took quite a while for all dinners to be plated, but all in all a flawless, fun and memorable night. Thank you JAM! Reviewed on 07-09-2017

Ellen Winston(wedding party)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2018 My daughter was recently married here. I have to admit it was definitely not my first choice for a wedding venue, but my daughter and future son-in-law eventually won that argument. It turned out to be a beautiful event. The weather cooperated and we were able to have the cocktail hour outside on the patio surrounding the meetinghouse. The venue is not without its shortcomings however. The pavilion, where we held the ceremony, is not air conditioned. There were not enough chairs set up for the ceremony even though they knew how many people to expect. Some people had to stand in the back. Parking is a pretty long distance from the actual venue. They do have one golf cart that can carry a few guests at a time back and forth. We also arranged for shuttle buses from our hotel that were able to drop our guests off closer to the area where the festivities were taking place. The paths between the buildings are made of widely spaced flagstone, which makes for some tricky walking. The meetinghouse, where we held the reception, has only one single rest room each for men and women. There are additional restrooms in a nearby building, but guests have to go outside to access them. Overall, the grounds are lovely. There is a working farm where vegetables are grown. Sheep and chickens wander about. There are some really pretty spots for photos. If you are looking for a rustic venue that doesn't have the noise and time restrictions of some barn weddings, you should check this place out.Now for the catering. There is an exclusive caterer who supplies the food. In general, the food was delicious. However, I did have a couple of issues. The passed hors d'oeuvres at the cocktail hour ran out very quickly. I think there were supposed to be nine different kinds. I never saw half of them. Some of the guests never saw any. Fortunately, I paid for four stations, which seemed to have enough food for the guests. The barbecue in a jar was a big hit!The bar supplies are very basic. No flavored vodkas or anything like that. One of the two bartenders was totally incompetent. Our signature cocktails were lacking signage and I was not told in advance that there would be an extra charge for them. We did hire an outside wedding planner and that was key in having the wedding flow as smoothly as it did. Reviewed on 28-06-2017
Stuti D-M(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 Our timeline for the reception totally fell apart because cocktail hour ran 35 minutes too long and we had to serve dinner right after speeches, making for an awkwardly timed low-energy rift in what was supposed to be a night focused around dancing. What bothered me the most was that Maria pulled me aside a few times to inform me of snafus and asked me what to do throughout the reception -- I was the bride and wanted nothing to do with what was going on in the background, whether it was going wrong or perfectly as planned. Is that not the purpose of a day-of coordinator/planner? That was a buzzkill. Nothing could have truly ruined our wedding and overall it was an incredible day, our guests had the best time. As the bride and groom, we weren't totally happy. If we had to do it all over I wouldn't do it here. I have to be honest that the poor communication, forgetfulness, and misinformation made wedding planning a nightmare. This venue/caterer is probably better suited for a simple American wedding, not a good choice for cultural weddings. Reviewed on 09-05-2017
Tania Petrina(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2016 It was a pleasure to work with Robyn and the team from JAM Catering at Waterloo Village. We loved the location, the beautiful setting for photos, our ceremony, the cocktail hour and the reception. The food was delicious - especially the cake. Our entire day was perfect start to finish from getting ready in the renovated bridal suite to the after party with a roaring fire pit, delicious wood fired pizzas and s'mores which our guests loved! We wouldn't change a thing about all of the choices we made. The staff was wonderful and we appreciated every detail that they took care of - would highly recommend working with them.
