Nestled along the Hudson River, Waterside Events is a stunning waterfront wedding venue located in North Bergen, NJ. This venue was established in 2009 by three siblings who wanted to offer a modern twist on traditional New York City weddings. Over the last decade, it has become a go-to location for celebrations on the Hudson River. Waterside Events offers indoor and outdoor event spaces for you to host both your ceremony and reception. You can say I do with sweeping panoramic views of the Big Apple just steps from the waterside. This open patio space can be formatted to suit a wide range of layouts, so you can customize your ceremony space to suit your vision. After you exchange vows, you can host an unforgettable cocktail hour in the Pearl Room, which features stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. Receptions can take place in the Diamond Ballroom, a spacious event room that boasts city views and versatile layout plans. The ballrooms can accommodate up to 225 guests, allowing you to dine and dance the night away with all of your loved ones. The Waterside Events team would be honored to help bring your vision to life. Their culinary crew offers flavorful reception menus that include enticing appetizers and mouth-watering entrees. Service staff and bartenders can look after you and your guests, so all you have to do is spend time with the people you love. Waterside was such a beautiful venue that allowed us to have an outdoor ceremony with the NYC skyline in the background. The cocktail hour food was amazing, and left our guests thinking that it was the dinner food. The entrees were great as well and to top it off the dessert and fruit platter to finish along with hot beverage options left nothing to be desired. Shantal and Christian were our maitre d's and helped our wedding day flow seamlessly. The service from before, during, and after the wedding was impeccable and I would highly recommend this venue!

My fiance and I live in the area and decided to have a morning ceremony followed by a brunch reception at Waterside. We chose it based on the ease of hosting an early June outdoor ceremony on the waterfront followed by a more informal brunch buffet indoors. The views from the room could not be matched and we knew, rain or shine, it would be beautiful. I was so impressed by how easy it was to work with Shantal (the maitre d') and her team and have details covered meticulously, even on the day of. They don't miss a beat and are on top of every detail of the day so you don't have to be.Admittedly, I wasn't expecting the food to be amazing only because I'd never been to a large catered event where I was impressed by the food but every dish that came out of the kitchen on the buffet line was hot, fresh and well-cooked. We supplemented our reception with some special external treats and they were showcased nicely in the room as well. We were just so happy with how the day went and how much care and kindness Shantal and her team put into our special day. She's calm, friendly and organized which we all need on a wedding day. Highly recommend as a venue for any special event, big or small!

Hosting my wedding at Waterside events was the best wedding related decision I've ever made. I don't really have enough words to describe my experience at Waterside. We found Waterside in early 2019 and immediately signed our contract to get married there in April 2020. When the pandemic was quickly ramping up, Waterside was able to help me find a new date (in November 2020). When it was clear that that date would still not be safe, they immediately opened their calendars to find a new date, this time November 2021. Waterside was by far my easiest vendor during the evolving COVID-situation and they made me, a very stressed-out bride, feel much more at ease. Shantal was my go-to person the entire time and was an extremely helpful, communicative, professional, and all-around amazing person to work with. Whenever I had a question, big or small, she always answered and provided all of the details needed. We finally had our wedding on November 5th and wow, it was worth the wait. Christian was extremely helpful and communicative leading up to the wedding. I cannot rave enough about the entire Waterside team on the day of the wedding. Everyone was incredibly kind, accomodating, and always one step ahead. If I wanted one thing done a certain way, it was done, no hesitation. We had our ceremony outside right as the sun was beginning to set and it was a perfect backdrop â I highly recommend doing the ceremony outside if you can! We have had MULTIPLE people tell us this was the best wedding meal they've ever had, between the meal at the reception and the food during cocktail hour. Overall, this was the perfect venue for us and I would vouch for Waterside, Shantal, Leslie, and Christian to anyone looking for a gorgeous venue where you know you'll be taken care of! They are all professionals and will make this day so easy for you!

I was a guest of an event(graduation party) held yesterday, July 10, 2021 at The Waterside. The venue itself is beautiful, yes, but caring and up to code it is NOT. The host and father of the graduate of yesterday's event is wheelchair bound. Midway thru the party, he and a few other guests/family members took the elevator from the 3rd floor downstairs to go outside to enjoy he view and to get some air. As bad luck would have it, the elevator suddenly stopped working, preventing the FATHER of the graduate from returning to his own party! The owners of Waterside only commented that there was nothing they could do because it was all \"AN ACT OF GOD\"....No support, empathy or basic good business acumen was offered at all. My friend therefore MISSED the entire rest of his own daughter's party, which he PAID for, with no offer of any discount, etc. by management. If you or anyone on your guest list needs to rely on taking an elevator instead of stairs up or down, STAY AWAY from Waterside. The view is breathtaking yes, but the lack of basic human consideration by these owners took my breath away and it turned a joyous, celebratory day into a big heartbreak. Not to mention, seems to me Waterside should be fined for not being up to ADA code. Book your event here at your own risk.

Planning a wedding from overseas is not easy! We had about 130 guests traveling from all over the world to share our special day. - The venue itself is PERFECT for a small/medium size indoor wedding. Three floors to accomodate a cocktail hour, reception and after party. It's intimate and doesn't allow guests to wander off and get lost. Everyone is concentrated on your special day! The view is amazing and will be sure to impress. - The guests (even the Italian ones!) loved the food, especially at the cocktail hour. - Planning was made easy by the professional and sweet Lesley. My parents (who were our scouts on the ground) worked directly with her, FaceTiming us when possible. She was very communicative and accommodating considering our situation, communicating with us through WhatsApp and e-mail when necessary. Every little detail we asked for (menu, aesthetic details, logistics, translations, AV) was accommodated with ease and precision. - Day-of was seamless. Shantal and Miguel are seasoned professionals who make everyone feel calm and at ease, but know how to problem solve and pivot when necessary.

I hosted my daughters Bridal at Waterside and the food was excellent and the venue was beautiful. Shantel our Maetre Di and event coordinator wasWonderful. She is very sweet and has a passion for job, she makes you feel so comfortable that you feel as if she is part of the family. All our guests were raving about the food and the venue and many will return to host their own events. It is due to Shantel that my daughters shower was a success. I highly recommend Shantel the serving staff and the venue. It was an amazing day.

My wife and I had our wedding at Waterside on 11/3/18. Everything was so smooth throughout the entire process, and Lesley/Miguel/Shantal were so helpful and made it enjoyable. Our guests raved about the delicious food, the nyc views, the service, the venue and still talk how it was one of the best weddings they have been to! My wife and I had our wedding at Waterside on 11/3/18. Everything was so smooth throughout the entire process, and Lesley/Miguel/Shantal were so helpful and made it enjoyable. We just got married at Waterside Restaurant and Catering in North Bergen this past New Year's Eve. I was a bit skeptical to have a wedding there in the winter time, because I knew it is usually known for its outdoor space and for being outside by the water. Let me tell you...it was perfect! When I walked in and saw the rooms all set up with the flowers and the gorgeous lighting that Waterside provides, I was floored! Not only are the rooms beautiful, but having the city skyline as our background made it the perfect scene for a New Years Wedding. Miguel and Shantal were both wonderful...and trust me, I was a pain in the butt! They always made me feel comfortable to ask questions and always responded promptly. The night of the wedding, the two of them were on top of everything! From making sure that we ate something, to getting us drinks right after our ceremony, to finding my lipgloss, and to making sure all guests were comfortable and happy...they covered it all and did such an amazing job! The food was delicious, the setup was perfect, and the entire staff did a wonderful job. I can't even give them a high enough recommendation.

We couldnât be happier with our choice of Waterside for our wedding venue. Miguel helped us plan all the details including the incredible menu for our guests. Let me tell you, the food at Waterside was incredible. We still have friends and family coming up to us weeks later telling us how incredible it was. From the hot pastrami carving station to the lobster ravioli, everything was delicious. We were able to provide a signature drink as well which was great. Shantal and Miguel were our Maitre Dâs the day of our wedding and helped manage every detail. The views from ceremony along the water, the second floor, and the reception on the third floor were all spectacular and made for great photos. The lighting provided accented everything too so you donât need to pay for extra lighting from DJs. We canât thank Waterside enough for everything they provided for our special day.

Waterside was nothing short of amazing to us. They treated both my husband and I like family! Lesley was the best from the first time we met her, welcoming and informative. She did everything to make our special day perfect. Chantal was with us the day of and she was the best, even assisting the photographer to capture perfect photos! The food was to die for, the view was spectacular - hands down could not have been any happier with Waterside. Would recommend to any new couple looking for that NYC feel right on the Hudson. She did everything to make our special day perfect. Chantal was with us the day of and she was the best, even assisting the photographer to capture perfect photos! The food was to die for, the view was spectacular - hands down could not have been any happier with Waterside. Would recommend to any new couple looking for that NYC feel right on the Hudson. The staff at Waterside was very professional. and everything was well coordinated Not to mention that view is to die for. I would like to thank Waterside for all they did for us. If it wasn't for them pulling through I think my wedding would of been cancelled. In all we had a wonderful, memorable wedding although, not how we planned, but still had an extremely happy ending. From the beginning I worked primarily with Lesley, handling all my annoying questions and inquiries. I didn't know where to start with wedding planning and she definitely helped walk me through the stages, which was much needed as I am quite the procrastinator. She was also very helpful is suggesting different trusted vendors that they have worked with prior, which I ended up using, and truly loved! I dropped everything off the day before the wedding and explained to Miguel and Shantal how and where I would like everything to be set up. When I arrived on the day of my wedding everything looked beautiful. Miguel did an amazing job pulling my vision together, and he was so attentive to my husband and I on the day of the wedding. Aside from normal wedding day jitters, I never once felt worried, because I knew he had everything handled. Everybody involved in the wedding party and even our guests mentioned how great Miguel was throughout the entire event, keeping everything running so smoothly. I cannot thank you all enough, and Fran as well for all your input, your guidance, and all your hard work that went into my special day. I don't think I know where to begin describing how phenomenal this place is. My first meeting ever was with Fran. She was lovely, knowledgable, and most of all, caring. Truly the selling point of the venue when we had decided to book. She guided us through the initial process and was so kind and thoughtful in her suggestions, which I truly believe made my wedding great and it was because she genuinely cared about my husband and I having the best experience. Even when my husband and I had some unforeseen events happen leading up to the day that could have been stressful, she truly helped in alleviating that doubt/stress and I knew all would be well. What a kind and remarkable person. Throughout my time making decisions and planning I had interacted with Miguel. Love. Him. He is amazing, professional, fun and flexible, making last minute changes without hesitation to help our day go well. This even carried through AFTER the wedding; so willing to still provide help when needed. I cannot thank him enough. On our wedding day he was so very attentive and organized, which put me at ease once my husband and I's day transitioned to the Waterside. I knew I could let loose and he would take care of all the details. Everything went so smoothly. The way they set up my reception and cocktail hour decor was exactly how I wanted it and some things even better than I could have planned. Best of all Miguel made sure we ate! Which brings me to the next amazing aspect of the Waterside, the food. EVERY SINGLE guest RAVED over the food and this is no exaggeration. From the immense cocktail hour, to our entrees, to the dessert the food was SPECTACULAR. Mind you, all this being said and I haven't even addressed the phenomenal views on the water. My Husband and I got married at the Waterside on 07/15/2016. It was amazing from start to finish. We booked the venue a little less than 2 years in advance and felt like family immediately. Shantal was our Coordinator, and she felt more like a friend than a planner. She was always available. I even had to tell her to stop responding to my emails on her days off!! Miguel was there with us the day of. Shantal and Miguel were a power duo that day. They really made it easy for us to let go and enjoy everything. We trusted that we were in good hands and they had everything under control. The flow of the event was seamless and and easy. You can't go wrong with this place. Not only are the views incredible, but the staff is fantastic. BOOK THIS PLACE!!!

My Husband and I got married at the Waterside on 07/15/2016. It was amazing from start to finish. We booked the venue a little less than 2 years in advance and felt like family immediately. Shantal was our Coordinator, and she felt more like a friend than a planner. She was always available. I even had to tell her to stop responding to my emails on her days off!! Miguel was there with us the day of. Shantal and Miguel were a power duo that day. They really made it easy for us to let go and enjoy everything. We trusted that we were in good hands and they had everything under control. The flow of the event was seamless and and easy. You can't go wrong with this place. Not only are the views incredible, but the staff is fantastic. BOOK THIS PLACE!!!

We had our wedding at Waterside on 9/17/16 and I still can't stop thinking about how perfect the venue was. All of our guests absolutely loved the gorgeous views from the outdoor ceremony. It was set up perfectly so everyone could see us under the huppah and enjoy the city skyline. The food was amazing and the selection was huge so everyone ended up satisfied. Aside from the obvious beauty of the venue itself, I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff. All the waiters and bartenders were so courteous and accommodating to our guests requests. Shantal was our coordinator and she's absolutely fantastic!! She helped us through every step of the planning process. We must've emailed her a hundred times and she always replied promptly, politely, and with a solution to any problem we had. If anything didn't go according to plan on the day of, I had no idea! She made sure everything was taken care of behind the scenes so we never had to stress. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of thanks to Shantal and Waterside!!!

I chose the Waterside Restaurant for several unique feature. First and foremost the amazing views, floor to ceiling windows with the beautiful view of NYC, then the very chique/restaurant vibe (I didnt want your typical catering hall feel), and then lastly the intimate feeling, I was only having 100 guests and didn't want somewhere that would make it feel like the room was too large. The entire process with them was very easy and they still made sure everything went perfectly. I unfortunately had to have my ceremony inside due to the weather however they still made it amazing and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and attentive. All the guests commented on the great bar tenders and servers! We never had to worry about a thing because of Miguel and Shantal. It truly was the best night of our lives and would highly suggest the Waterside!

Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for! Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the team at the Waterside also make the whole process so easy! Shantal, the event coordinator, was amazing from the day we first met her to the day of the wedding. I was a little surprised when we were 9 months out and she said that we didn't have to meet again until 3 months before the wedding, but she quickly calmed my nerves by walking us through what needed to be done and when. Whenever we had questions, she was quick to respond, and she made it clear all the way through that she was making us the center of the day. She was even willing and able to accommodate my husband's request for a special craft beer.On the day of the wedding, she made sure that we were taken care of from the moment we walked in the door. She whisked us away to ensure we ate and had something to drink, and since our pictures ran longer than we had hoped, the Maitre d' brought us up one of everything from the cocktail hour so that we could enjoy some of the delicious food. We are still receiving compliments on how great the wedding was and how good the food was, and it would not have been possible without the Waterside. I cannot speak highly enough of the Waterside and what they did for our wedding. I would highly recommend them to others, and I wish that I knew someone else getting married there so that I could enjoy a wedding there.

Shantal was wonderful and took care of every detail! Our wedding went smoothly and we had a blast! They also recommended great vendors. We used the florist and officiant they referred and they were great! The location is breathtaking, the cocktail hour and reception room were beautiful with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy that amazing view! The food is also amazing! We had many options to choose from, and Shantal was great working with us to fit our needs. Our whole expierience with Shantal, Gus and staff was wonderful! My now husband and I got married at The Waterside in mid-November and only have good things to say about how special our big day was.\r\rThe VIEW - one of the huge selling points for this venue is the amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. We had a plan A and plan B for our ceremony and due to the cold weather we ended up having it inside, but that didn't take away from anything. The view during the ceremony was clear as ever from the 3rd floor. The floor to ceiling windows on the 2nd floor made for a great background for the cocktail hour and let's not forget the pictures we snuck away for outside right along the water....perfect!\r\rThe FOOD - one of our must haves for our wedding was delicious food and plenty of flowing drinks. We were not lacking in any of that here. There were rave reviews on not only the amount of food at the cocktail hour and portion sizes at dinner, but how delicious everything was. Being the bride I didn't eat much, but hearing how happy all the guests were makes me wish I could be a guest at my own wedding (or persuade a friend to get married here so I can attend).\r\rThe STAFF - working with everyone at the Waterside was extremely easy and reassuring every time we met. The service the night of the wedding couldn't have been better from how smooth the ceremony ran, to the dinner service and finally our personal attendant who always made sure we had a drink in hand and everything we needed. I want to especially mention Shantal and Miguel who guided the entirety of the night to perfection. The week before the wedding Shantal asked me to give up the control to her (which every bride knows is hard to do) and I did. It was the best thing I could have done because I got to enjoy our wedding and felt everything was in her capable hands,\r\rWould we recommend this venue, absolutely!! An extra special thank you to the Waterside for making our wedding the special night we wanted it to be :)

We hosted our event at Waterside and were very pleased on the outcome. First of all, you can't beat the location. The views of the skyline are breathtaking and the the windows in the reception room give you full access to the view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and did everything they could to make us happy and the party a success. I would recommend Waterside and would definitely consider having another event at this venue.

We lived out of state at the time but told ourselves that if we ever moved to New Jersey, we would without a doubt have our wedding here. Low and behold two years later, we were living in New Jersey. When we started planning our wedding, we truly knew there was no other place but the Waterside Restaurant for our big day. We wanted our guests to experience how we felt on our visit. \r\rVIEW! VIEW! VIEW!- Waterside has one of the most SPECTACULAR views of the NYC Skyline. We were fortunate enough to have our ceremony outdoors and it was just perfect! Your guests will be mesmerized and it makes for unbelievably beautiful photos.\r\rVENUE- the space has a modern, art deco feel and not the traditional 'banquety' feel. I loved the lounge type layout that was used for cocktail hour equipped with cocktail tables and couches spread out all around the space. The reception is held on a different floor which has the more formal feel. Both spaces have uplights with a variety of colors to match your wedding scheme. Honestly, do you think it could get any better? The answer is YES!\r\rMENU- OMG the menu!!! This is where we were sold when we first visited the Waterside Restaurant. The cocktail hour alone has more of a variety of food choices than you will probably ever find anywhere else. But it's not just the abundance of food- it's the quality of the food. Waterside really takes the time to create a menu that will be simply unforgettable. And let's be realistic- what is one of the most important things you remember at a wedding? That's right- the food. We opted for the seafood bar which included an ABUNDANCE of unlimited cocktail shrimp. Add some lobster ravioli and mushroom risotto and that makes for the start of a very tasty evening! \r\rSERVICE- I needed to save the best for last. From the MOMENT we walked through the door, we were greeted by nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL service. Shantal & Gus took care of us from start to finish and were simply amazing. Shantal's patience through our decision making and her advice and suggestions helped us so much in our choices for the big day. Paired with her awesome personality and great sense of humor, Shantal really took the time ensure we did not have to worry about a thing on our big day. We all wish for the most perfect wedding. Our ceremony and reception at the Waterside was absolutely amazing. The view was unbelievable and the food was out of this world. Fran and her staff catered to our every need. Love this place!! My name is Jenna, and as the Bride, it was amazingly PERFECT!! The Perfect location with the ceremony outside on September 29th. The weather was perfect, awesome view of New York skyline. Impressed with the staff. they were on it and welcoming. My coordinator was the Best, and took care of myself and the Groom. (made sure we ate) ;) The food was ALL delicious, and was very pleased as well as our guests. Everyone who came to our wedding say it was the BEST wedding Ever!! I'd do it all over again.

When my husband and I first started our search for a wedding venue we knew that we wanted something on the water for our summer wedding. We had seen a few other venues on the Hudson River, but they did not meet our expectations. Waterside was actually the last venue that we looked at before we made our final decision. \rWe first saw Waterside on a very rainy day and we met with the manager, Bob. Bob was very kind and genuine and did not pressure us at all to book right away. However, it did not take us long to make a decision because despite the rainy day we knew that we wanted to have our wedding reception at Waterside. \rWaterside had everything that my husband and I were looking for in a venue. For instance, it is on the Hudson River with breathtaking views of the city. We also liked that the restaurant is somewhat hidden from the street, but still easy to get to. We were worried about our family members getting lost, but all of them found the restaurant without any problems. The venue itself is very modern and we especially liked that the cocktail hour and our actual reception were on 2 different floors. \rThe staff at Waterside are absolutely wonderful! I felt very lucky to work with Frances, Lesley, and Shantal. Lesley was always so prompt in responding to my multiple emails. She always answered and addressed all of my questions and concerns.\rFrances was absolutely amazing! I was so lucky to have Frances coordinate my wedding reception. She knew exactly what my husband and I envisioned for our wedding. Frances made us feel like we should have everything we want on our wedding day and we absolutely got everything we wanted and more! She is very organized and accommodating.\rShantal was our maitre d' for our wedding reception and she was fabulous! Once we arrived from our ceremony to Waterside Shantal made sure that we had water and that we were comfortable. She made sure that we got a chance to actually eat during our cocktail hour, which was so awesome! Shantal and Miguel always made sure that my husband and I always had a drink in our hands and always asked us if everything was going well. Shantal did such a wonderful job ensuring us that our reception was running on time and that our guests were having a good time.\rOur guests loved Waterside! Many of our guests told us that they really enjoyed all of the food that they had. Our guests thought that the food during cocktail hour was delicious and plentiful. Some of our guests were surprised that they were actually going to have a full course meal after cocktail hour. They really enjoyed all of the food! Many of our guests commented that our venue was very modern and classy, and they all had a wonderful time.\rOverall, our wedding reception at Waterside was spectacular! All the way from the Freedom Tower to the George Washington Bridge. As a resident of Manhattan I looked at the view and said, \"This is me, this is my city.\" We called the next day to reserve a date.\r\rWe had the wedding ceremony outside, the cocktail hour on the second floor with floor to ceiling windows facing Manhattan, and the reception on the third floor which also had a view.\r\rThe Waterside location was convenient. Close to several hotels, shopping mall, other restaurants, and water taxis to Manhattan. And a great benefit was the Waterside had free parking. \r\rShantal, Leslie and Frances were there with me from the beginning to the end. And they worked well with the vendors we used. If you are looking for a modern venue with a beautiful NYC view and you have a guest list of ~200 or less, THIS IS YOUR PLACE. (Waterside can fit up to ~215 guests, but I wouldn't personally suggest it..) We had our ceremony outdoors and they set up the space exactly as we asked, they even lit the citronella candles that I had brought over because I'm allergic to mosquito bites. Our cocktail hour was held on the second floor; the reception followed on the third floor. This venue is a one-wedding-at-a-time type of place. Our guests loved the views, the atmosphere, and especially, the food! This in not a ballroom type venue which was perfect for us. \r\rLesley, Fran, and Shantal were all amazing to work with. Lesley and Fran handled all of the planning, emails, and nitty-gritty details - they were responsive, accommodating, and friendly. Fran also had wonderful suggestions and tips whenever we spoke which ALL worked out perfectly. Shantal was our maitre'd on our wedding day and she was perfect - she handled any problems that came up, made sure we had everything we needed, and she also gave us a quiet moment during cocktail hour away from the guests to make sure we had time to eat. Our glasses were never empty all night! Their staff was also wonderful, making sure that the ceremony went off without a hitch and they were perfect through the reception and even the after party. \r\rFrom our first visit until we left after the wedding, our experience with Waterside was everything we had hoped it would be. Waterside was a beautiful and breathtaking venue with wonderful skyline views! The food was absolutely great and it was a great pleasure working with Waterside's Catering team. I would definitely recommend this venue for any North Jersey Bride!

What can we say? 8-23/2014 was a WOW moment! AMAZING! FANTASTIC! WONDERFUL! THOUGHTFUL! The staff at Waterside are amazing...just amazing. Shatal, Miguel and Francis are the BEST in the business and truly made our day a huge success. Not to mention, the entire crew that worked our wedding was just the BEST. Our guests are still talking about what a fantastic time they had and how wonderful the food and service was. As a professional trained chef, I (Bride) was VERY pleased with the food selection, quality and overall taste of everything consumed. \r\rIf we could get married all over again, we would choose Waterside hands down. That is why I know we will host another event there in the future.

My husband and I had the privilege of having our wedding at the Waterside on August 2nd and this venue is absolutely amazing. The only request my husband had while searching for the perfect venue, was for it to be on the Hudson with the NYC skyline. We looked at a few places before we went to the waterside and every one of them was overpriced and just wasn't for us. When we went to the Waterside, we knew right away that it was the place for our wedding! We met with Francis the first day and she went over the whole menu and what is included in the price, which let me tell you is EXTREMELY reasonable for what is included and the fantastic view of NYC. They were able to remove things from the menu that we did not want to lower the price. For every other place, the price was set in stone. Also, the food - ohhh myyyy the food!!! It was the best food I have ever had at a wedding!!! We also worked with Shantal and Lesley, who were absolutely amazing and very accommodating. \rWe received so many outstanding compliments from our guests. Many of which said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and how much they loved the food and the view!!\rWe can't thank the Waterside enough for making our day perfect!!!\rKate and Jerry\r

I had a few issues with The Waterside:\rThe Waterside staff called me and wanted to change rehearsal time 5 days before the wedding. \rArriving at the Waterside before my ceremony, I was told that neither I nor my bridal party could have access to the bridal suite, despite being promised the suite upon paying my deposit. \rI brought boxes over the day before with everything labeled & where they should go. No one put bubbles on chairs for my wedding ceremony as instructed. It would have taken 5 minutes to do. If this was not something they were willing to do, they should have told me.\rBefore the bridal party was introduced the waiter was taking orders of the food, since my bridal party was not seated at the table they could not choose from the menu & had to go by the waiter description. When asked the choices, they were told, \"beef, chicken, or fish\". I was embarrassed. For a venue that prides themselves on their food & presentation, the description from the person taking the order was what you would expect from an airline flight attendant.\rI was told by Francis that they had white pillars I could use to put flowers on for the ceremony which I decided to use. A month before the ceremony I called to confirm that I could use these pillars & was told they broke & I would need to come up with something on my own. I paid my florist to rent columns for flowers I had ordered. When I arrived at my wedding ceremony, no flowers were on pillars. I was told the wind blew 1 column down & the flower pot fell/ cracked. The staff has my # and should have notified me of what happened.\rThey did not have my signature drink at the reception.\rDespite all of this, we had an amazing time at our wedding. The food was delicious, the cocktail hour can not be rivaled, the views were beautiful, & I believe all my guests had a wonderful time. Also, I have to say that staff always responded quickly to any inquiry I had. I am thankful for all The Waterside did to make our day special, I just wish certain things were handled differently.

From the minute that I called and spoke to Francis, I knew that this venue was the right one! She was so friendly, professional and helpful and experienced!!! It was such a pleasure working with them and giving them our wedding to do. Our ceremony was outside on the patio, with the NYC skyline as our backdrop. It was incredible and stunning. Our cocktail and reception rooms were absolutely gorgeous and all of our guests raved about the place and especially the food. Everything was perfect. They were so organized and professional and friendly. We are so happy that we had our special day at Waterside. It is a beautiful memory and beautiful pictures that we will cherish and have forever.

It is considered a measure of their spirituality and it is believed that treating each guest as if they were a deity in disguise would lead to good and great rewards both here on earth and in heaven.\rOn July 4th my wife, the former Prima Ballerina of the NJ Ballet and one of the original Balanchine girls, Kathleen Ann McCready and I the Reverend Lawrence Michael Heisler, half Greek on my mother's side, were treated to a level of philonesksia that the Gods of Greek Mythology would have reveled in. We chose the Waterside Catering in North Bergen partially because it's a beautiful wedding and party facility with breath-taking views of the New York skyline and the mighty Hudson River but more importantly because it's owners and management are warm, terrific and sincerely good people who also just happen to be meticulously consummate professionals when it comes to the Art of Catering. These folks really know how to create a major celebration and with a dignified flare. Their entire staff were warm and welcoming and performed at an extraordinarily high level with sensitivity and anticipation. I would be amiss if I didn't share many words about a great kitchen staff and about their chef that is fast becoming known as a culinary giant. The accolades from our guests about our amazing little affair have been overwhelming. Statements about the âincredible food and beverage service,â âthe hospitality!â âthe beautiful inspired floral environment and that âmagical LED wedding room with the panoramic windows of the NY skyline!â Yes, thank you Frances, you said that it would be an extraordinary evening for our guests and you with your talented staff delivered the goods! If we were asked by Triple AAA to rate the overall performance of the Waterside Catering specifically in regard to our wedding, we would award them the coveted 5 Diamond Award. Just .04% of the restaurants in all of America receive 5 Diamonds and for us the Waterside was right there with the greats, N.Y.C.'s Le Bernadin and Per Se. Extraordinary event!\r\r\r

My husband and I celebrated our 50th birthdays/ 25th wedding anniversary with a combined party at the Waterside. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing everything was! We have thrown many parties at MANY different venues and my guests were all telling me that this one was the BEST! It started with Shantal who is so professional and knows exactly how to get to know your personality and figure out what will be the best party for you and your guests. I told her I didn't want a lengthy sit down dinner and she set up the room with cocktail tables, couches, and fun furniture so it had more of a cocktail party feel. The view is breathtaking! When my guests walked in to the room, their mouths dropped in awe! I had originally wanted a rooftop bar in NYC for my party and this surpassed it by far! The food was delicious and plentiful! We had timing issues because of guests arriving late and Shantal was so easygoing about \"our schedule\" and adjusted it by just reading the crowd. MANY times throughout the night, she would ask me if I wanted a glass of wine or a plate of food. I didn't have to think of one thing and could just enjoy my party and my guests! If you are contemplating booking the Waterside, DO IT!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

Ever since I was a little girl, I had always wanted to get married by the water. Then I got engaged and as my then fiancé and I were looking for places we came across this beautiful website that had a beautiful view over looking NYC and was located right on the Hudson River. As soon as we went to see it, we all immediately fell in love with the place as a whole. The people who work there are extremely friendly, compassionate, helpful and understanding. The location is ideal and the interior is immaculate. It is clean and modern with tile floors and huge windows over looking the Hudson. Needless to say we immediately booked the place. Then the day of the wedding arrived and it was just PERFECT! I couldn't imagine having my wedding anywhere else. Everybody was accommodating and made sure that the wedding ran smoothly and accurately, which it did. I was able to have a ceremony that I had always dreamed of by the water and a reception that was literally a dream come true. To this day my husband and I wish that everybody can be as lucky as we were to have such an amazing wedding at the Waterside.

Waterside was the first venue we visited when we started planning our wedding, and my husband said right away that it would be the one we would choose. I checked out a few other venues and, with each one, quickly came to the conclusion that none would compare. We were looking for a city view first and foremost, and Waterside provides everything you could ask for in terms of that â from the GWB to the Freedom Tower and everything in between, you can see it all, with only the Hudson River between. Besides the breathtaking view of the city, Waterside also has the greatest, most responsive staff. Frances and Chantal were always available at a momentâs notice with answers to our questions throughout our engagement, and on the day of the wedding they worked so hard, with a smile, to ensure that everything we needed was taken care of. The venue itself is gorgeous â fun, modern, and elegant. We also had our ceremony there, and because of the weather that day it was moved inside. I thought this might disappoint me, but the indoor setup and views from inside are so beautiful that it didnât faze us one bit. And the food was incredible both in quantity and quality â our guests thought the cocktail hour was dinner because there was so much! There is something for everyone, and itâs all absolutely delicious. Both during and after the reception, so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to; we are still getting compliments on everything. But the real compliments should go to Waterside Restaurant and Catering. From start to finish, it was the perfect day at the best venue we could have imagined.

We hold dozens of events each year and each time we are at Waterside we are impressed.\r \rWe consistently find that in working with us to set up and run the event the staff is incredibly knowledge, professional, and friendly. This terrific service makes it a pleasure to hold a truly remarkable event. \r \rEach time we have been there, the facilities have been immaculate from the lavish white furnishings to the stunning sheer glass widow walls overlooking the Hudson River and the New York City skyline. \r \rAnd, the food has been a tremendous hit with every guest. We had our wedding here this past summer: ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception all at Waterside. Couldn't have been happier. Working with Shantal was an absolute pleasure--we truly valued the professionalism, attentiveness to (EVERY) detail, and personal attention she provided us every step of the way. She went above and beyond what we would have expected from a maĂźtre d' and made the entire process that much easier.\r\r= The Food =\rWhen we went for our initial tasting a few months before the wedding day, we were impressed with the selection. Everything was delicious, but we were wary of the \"mass produced\" effect that wedding food usually falls to--steaks like hockey pucks, dry chicken, mediocre fish. But boy were we (and the guests) pleasantly surprised. Every guest we talked to raved about the spectacular selection of food at cocktail hour (more than anyone could possibly eat), as well as the overall quality of it all. The same could be said of dinner--everyone said their food came out exactly as they wanted (steaks cooked rare when asked!) and VERY generous portions. One thing is for sure--they do not skimp on the food portioning here and you certainly get your money's worth. \r\rQuick aside: the open bar option was excellent! They even worked with us and ordered cases of Sam Adams Oktoberfest to serve at the wedding for no additional charge. All the liquor was good quality--Johnny Walker Black Label, Crown Royal, Belvedere Vodka, etc. Very happy with it!\r\r= The Service =\rAs I said earlier, Shantal (our maĂźtre d') was spectacular. From the moment we walked in to scope the place out, she was a joy to work with and helped address our every need and concern. When she was not available via email during the months of planning leading up to the date, the other staff quickly jumped in to assist. Overall, I would absolutely rate their help and support throughout the entire wedding an A+. During the cocktail hour, there was an abundance of wait staff and the bartenders were not your average joe mixing drinks. For the reception, the wait staff was friendly and did a good job keeping things moving and the guests happy. The only complaint I would have is regarding the end of the night: the dessert came out, coffee and tea was served, and before you knew it they had begun clearing tables earlier than we would have liked. I understand that our wedding ran until 12AM, but it still put off a few of the guests. But truly, that's our only complaint about the service--it was spectacular otherwise! \r\r= The Venue =\rAbsolutely gorgeous views of mid-town and lower Manhattan. This was one of the deciding factors for us--we knew getting married with that as a backdrop would be unforgettable. The guests were very excited and amazed with the views. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather that evening. However, even if it rains, their indoor option still provides great views of the skyline. The upstairs reception hall fit our guest list of 150 very comfortably along with the DJ, 2 bars, and a photobooth. \r\rTruly, you can't beat the views from Waterside, particularly for the pricing. Sure there are other places (such as Liberty House), but they charge such a ridiculous premium simply for being across from Lower Manhattan. Trust me when I say the pricing and deals at Waterside were worth every penny to us. Our guests said they had an excellent time, and that's really what mattered to us in the end.

We chose the Waterside for various reasons: location, the amazing food and their willingness to work with us under certain circumstances. Initially they seemed very willing to please and very accommodating. After a couple of initial communication glitches (I live out of town and my daughter lives in NJ) things seemed to go smoothly. One of the owners generously offered to refund us for two guests since seven of them cancelled last minute. The ceremony went really well and the maitre d (Shantal) was very helpful and friendly. The food was out of this world and everyone raved about it. Unfortunately, some of the table linens were soaked at dinner and some of the food was served cold. When I asked why the linens were wet, there was no explanation. At the end of the evening, my husband and I stayed after all the guests were gone in order to pack the remaining centerpieces, linens, candle cylinders which belonged to our daughter and take them with us. We were told to just leave everything, someone would pack all our belongings for us and to make sure to return first thing the next day to pick up our things. We left behind plastic storage boxes to make it more convenient. The next morning we returned to get our things and went home happy that everything had been packed for us. With so many out of town guests, it took us a couple of days before we could go through our things. Unfortunately, we discovered we were missing the remaining centerpieces (which were personalized and made especially for the wedding) and the candle cylinders (36 of them). When I contacted them to find out where they were, I was told they didn't have them. I texted the owner and she said they only had 30 of the 36 cylinders but no idea what had happened to the remaining centerpieces. When I returned to pick up the cylinders I was told there were only 20. I expressed my disappointment and was told someone would get in touch with me to explain what had happened. The wedding was on September 7, 2013. It is now a month later and I still have not heard from them nor received the refund they so generously offered. I highly recommend the Waterside for their food. I have had dinner, lunch and brunch there several times and have never been dissatisfied with their food. If you do go ahead and have your wedding there, I recommend not leaving your things behind and trusting they will put everything together for you, just in case they \"can't find them\" the next day.

We were married at the Waterside at 6:30 in the evening. Great weather and a great backdrop for pictures. Our cocktail hour was spectacular all of my guests raved about the food! Amazing seafood, lobster ravioli, duck....all were a big hit. We had a cocktail reception which was great. My guests were able to eat, drink, and dance when they wanted. It was one big amazing party. I had 20 to 30 messages the next day from guests that said this was the best wedding they ever attended.The food was outstanding and the views are amazing!!!! I would highly recommend the Waterside for a great wedding or party!!

I felt completely comfortable going into the wedding day, as I knew the team was prepared. The day was absolutely seamless, down to every detail. The venue was gorgeous, the food was incredible. I have no negative feedback at all. I give a lot of credit to the Waterside team. It isn't easy to plan events like this and they make it look completely effortless. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone planning their wedding. You will NOT be dissappointed!

After touring many different locations, we decided to check out the Waterside since it is very close to our home. Immediately after our initial meeting with Leslie, we absolutely fell in love with the venue and it was clear that our search was over. Without hesitation, we decided to book our wedding at the Waterside. The style was perfect for us, since we were hoping to find something more unique and different than those typically overdone cookie cutter banquet halls. I think it would be difficult to find a better view of Manhattan in what I considered a reasonable $ price range for the area. The space quite comfortably accommodated our 130 guest party, as well as a photo booth. The service provided by all of the staff was top notch and the food is exceptional. I was able to enjoy the entire reception without any stress, since every detail was seamlessly handled by our amazing Matre d Shantal :). We received so many compliments from our guests. I would highly recommend this venue if your looking to host a spectacular event!

I can not thank you guys enough for all the help with everything..Beginning to end you guys were there! All our guests were amazed by the venue, the food, and the staff.. You guys aimed to please and it showed, my parents were so amazed by the help as well making it a stress free day for them!!! Allen and myself could not be happier! While its been nearly a year since our wedding, we have not forgotten what a wonderful day Frances and Shantal made it! It's never too late to pass along a big THANK YOU, positive review and reminisce about a wonderful wedding day! From the date we booked our wedding until our wedding day, they provided us nothing but the best guidance and service. With each visit to the venue during the year of planning, we continued to be wow'd by the many renovations that enhanced the venue (marble floors, new rugs, flat screens, 1st floor bar, new windows, up-lighting to name just some of the phenomenal improvements they made). What truly left a mark on us was the service and grace as we had to reschedule our wedding. After facing the unthinkable - we rescheduled our wedding date originally set for Hurricane Irene - they were the most easy going and accommodating to help us find a new wedding date. Just two months after that hurricane, our wedding went off without a flaw on October 30, 2011 thanks to Waterside's staff, gorgeous venue, and lets not forget to mention beautiful backdrop of NYC!

From our first encounter with the Waterside, my husband and I were so impressed. The owners and staff are truly kind people and so happy to help with every step of planning. The venue is absolutely breathtaking and the food is fantastic. The staff was so helpful and generous throughout our planning and made our day so memorable and fun. The people at Waterside truly care and endeavor to make it a special day for everyone.

We are sooo grateful for the service we received from The Waterside Restaurant and Catering! My husband and I had our wedding reception there the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. \rThe views of the city were amazing during the day and night. We used the second floor for the cocktail hour and our guests were impressed instantly by the appearance and the views. Our reception was held in the third floor ballroom. We had purple uplighting which were absorbed perfectly into the white sheer drapes on the walls. We were very pleased with the decor.\rThe entire experience was absolutely perfect and we could not ask for anything more.\rFrances was the first person we met with when we had our appointment and were looking at reception venues. She was very warm, welcoming and it was clear that she is very passionate about her restaurant which is part of what attracted us to the venue.\rThroughout the year I kept in contact with Shantal who was VERY responsive and helpful as well as Lesley. They answered all of our questions and were there every step of the way. Marie was our Maitre d' for the night and made sure we had whatever we needed before we could even think about it.\rThe food was also outstanding!\rThank you Fran and the Waterside fam for making our wedding day everything we had hoped it would be and more!\r\r

I could not recommend Waterside enough!! They were absolutely incredible and their goal is to make your wedding day all you have dreamt of. The incredible staff at Waterside made our wedding such a wonderful day to remember!! Our family and friends have declared it a \"fairy tale wedding\" and have been raving about the food and the beautiful views ever since. Waterside was so helpful and gracious throughout the entire planning process and went above and beyond to make our day extra special. They helped an out-of-state bride plan one of the most important days in her life with as little stress as possible. They exceeded our expectations and we are so thrilled that we chose to create some of the most special memories of our life at Waterside! We will definitely be back to reminisce for some anniversary dinners...
