We rented the Stone House for our both our wedding ceremony and reception of approx. 50 and it was perfect. Beautiful surroundings, somewhat segregated from the rest of the greenway, and a beautiful view of the mountains at sunset. Pam at the Community Resources Department was so friendly, proactive, and always very helpful whenever we had questions while planning for the wedding (and we had a lot)! We found that the tables provided by the house weren't quite large enough to seat our group comfortably and the chairs weren't particularly nice looking so we ended up renting tables and chairs. We also needed to set up lighting ourselves like the other reviewer said it does get dark at night but the lighting ended up looking very nice. The price was fair as well at ˜800 with the alcohol license included for the whole day. Overall would definitely recommend this setting for an intimate backyard wedding theme like we had Reviewed on 17-09-2023
Tayvia Hazleton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2017 We had a wonderful wedding reception at the School House. We reserved this all out of town, and we had such a flawless experience! It was a wonderful place: we brought our own food, the tables and chairs were already set up for us, our cake baker delivered our cake easily, and we just had such a blast. We had everything cleaned up by the time we were supposed to, and the staff there was wonderful. Reviewed on 18-06-2017

We had our ceremony and reception at the Lakewood Heritage Center and loved it! We used the amphitheater for the ceremony and the school house for the reception. Julie was our main contact throughout the planning process, and she was incredibly responsive, helpful, and flexible! Julie was organized throughout the whole process and very patient with our questions. She really made working with the venue incredibly easy for us. The staff who were present on our wedding day were also helpful and respectful, although I had limited contact with them.\r\rThe grounds at the Lakewood Heritage Center are beautiful and well kept. There are plenty of picture opportunities at the lake, in front of the vintage buildings, by the barn and farm buildings, etc. Everything was clean and well-maintained on our wedding date, and our guests loved the venue. The amphitheatre was great for the ceremony because we wanted to be outdoors and, despite the heat of the day, the shade from the amphitheatre helped keep our guests cool. The school house was extremely cute, and it helped that we were able to use the indoor space as well as the side yard for outdoor space. We had dinner tables, buffet, and bar inside. The space easily fit seating for 40 guests at round tables, the buffet, bar, a 5-person band, and extra room for mingling and dancing. We used the side yard for additional cocktail tables and lawn games. Since it was a blazing summer afternoon, the A/C in the school house was a welcome relief from the heat. We had a fantastic time! If we should ever need to throw another large party, I'd love to have it at the LHC again! Reviewed on 24-07-2015
Jessica Shank(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-09-2014 We could not have asked for a more perfect setting for our September 2014 wedding! The Lakewood Heritage Center has become a significant part of our relationship over the years so what better place to get married. Having our wedding at the Heritage Center allowed us to customize our wedding and reception to fit what we envisioned. There are so many gorgeous areas to choose from throughout the Heritage Center. The Red Barn was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and the Country School House provided the perfect setting for our reception. The Heritage Center provided maps so that our guests were able to do walking tours of the Heritage Center while they were there which was a nice touch. Being able to bring in outside vendors of our choosing was a huge selling point for us and allowed us to stay well within our budget. The staff was amazing! Julie, who helped us the most throughout every stage of planning, was amazing to work with and had some great advice and helpful hints. She went above and beyond to make sure our day turned out perfect. We highly recommend the Heritage Center for anyone who wants a unique, customizable, and budget friendly wedding! We cannot thank them enough for such a perfect and memorable day! Reviewed on 30-01-2015
Natalie Dowell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-05-2013 The stone house is a beautifully restored home from the 1860's. Its set on the grounds of Bear Creek Greenbelt. The outside of the home has the largest cottonwood tree I've ever seen . We fell in love with grounds and were married right under that tree, which also faces the lake about 30 feet away. We hunted for so long to find the right place that was in our budget. The rental is dirt cheap compared to other places, comes with tables and chairs and we used the upstairs rooms as dressing rooms. It's rented through the community resources department for Lakewood. The rental is very straightforward with no surprises. Reviewed on 22-05-2013
