My daughter was married at the Tamassee DAR school in October of 2021. It was everything we hoped for and more. My family stayed on campus the weekend of the wedding in one of their very clean and nicely decorated cottages. The wedding party stayed in the Illinois cottage ( a huge cottage with a ton of rooms) the night before the wedding and had a little pre-party together before the main event. It was a sweet time for long time friends and family to spend together. The wedding took place on the Starlight Lawn directly behind the Iowa building where we had the reception. The girls got ready in Illinois and the first look pictures were taken on that lawn. The guys got ready in an amazing game room on the lower level of the building where the ceremony and reception were. The service was exceptional and they went out of their way to care for us and make my daughters day (and entire weekend) so special.

I DJ'd a wedding here last night, the staff and the facility are top notch. While it is a basic community room type of venue, it is clean, well laid out, easy to access, and fairly large. I really cannot say anything negative about the experience at all. Look forward to future events here.

If you are looking for the perfect place to have your wedding, look no further. Tamassee DAR has everything you need to make the experience a breeze. The location is historical, gorgeous, amazingly priced and convenient. Our whole wedding party stayed at several of their picturesque homes which are being upgraded. What a blessing it was to wake up on the day of the wedding and stroll down the sidewalk right into the quaint chapel. The staff was so incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive. They allowed the nearby reception hall to be set up the day before. This allowed the wedding to to simply getting ready, taking pictures and taking our seats. After the wedding we walked to the reception hall just a few blocks away. The hall was the perfect size for our guests to sit comfortably, enjoy the meal or later dance together. In the same building the downstairs area was used for younger children. This is an incredibly large room full of fun for all the kids and separate from the festivities. For a small fee the DAR provided babysitters and the parents were very pleased with this option. The DAR also gave us the option to save money and clean the venues ourselves or for a reasonable fee they will have their own staff clean everything up for you. The staff really strive to work with you and make your special day a joyful one. Extras: within 10 minutes of the campus there is a gas station, restaurant, and the most gorgeous waterfall.
