Whetstone Center
The Whetstone Center is a ranch style wedding venue in the Northeast, Ohio area. This waterfront venue offers country charm to couples looking to be close to nature on their wedding day. Couples have options to choose from for their wedding ceremony, including a beautiful outdoor space with a pergola overlooking the lake, an open field in front of a vineyard, or an indoor chapel building. Located 20 minutes from Canton, OH, and a scenic 75-minute drive from downtown Cleveland, this wedding venue is the ideal location for couples wanting a unique wedding experience. Facilities and Capacity Whetstone's Event Center welcomes up to 170 wedding guests inside. The property is also large enough to host an outdoor wedding for 200+ guests. Whetstone hosts outdoor ceremonies in a number of beautiful locations on its property, as well as an indoor option for colder months or rainy weather, all included in the rental fee. Couples can even opt for pontoon boat rides down a beautiful private lake, giving their guests a fun and unique experience during the wedding day! Rolling hills, beautiful greenery and the waterfront view also offer picturesque locations for wedding ceremonies or photographs. Inside the Event Center, you'll find exposed brick, fireplaces, and a raw, open space ready to be customized to the couple's vision. Large windows overlook the water and the rest of the ranch’s property. Services Offered Couples planning their event at the Whetstone Center will find hospitable staff and inclusive amenities. If you are looking for a venue that will provide excellent support throughout the planning process and a blank canvas for you to make your own - the Whetstone Center is the perfect option! While planning my wedding, I was able to think through concepts and plan multiple visits for my vendors, and for my fiance and I, to visualize the layout and timeline of the day! The venue coordinator, Hannah, helped tremendously and answered all of my questions and requests timely which made communicating with outside vendors a smooth and effortless process -- even so much as communicating with them directly or joining in on visits to discuss the best course of action. The outdoor space is beautiful and there are multiple picturesque locations on the property for breathtaking shots of you and your loved ones. All of our guests raved about the gorgeous property, blooming wild and sunflowers, and green vineyards. We also opted in to reserving both Fri and Sat in order to set up the day prior to the event so we could enjoy the full day! They offer a two-part suite which can be used for getting ready for both parties which offered incredible lighting, spacious area, and plenty of outlets for hair and makeup to be done on-site. 10/10 recommendation!

I first came across this venue 4 years ago when we first got engaged and fell instantly in love. Hannah was so easy to get along with and answered all of our questions(so sad she is leaving!) from the very start of our start to the day of wedding we had butterflies in our stomachs about this venue. The beauty that you get from the venue it’s self to the different spots for photos or having a moment with your spouse after i do, they offer it! A billion and one times I would choose this venue again! If you want to find a venue that allows you to do that. Pick this venue. We can’t wait to have many celebrations here in the future ♥️

My husband and I got married at the Whetstone Center on 9.23.2022!!! This venue was the first and only venue we looked at, we fell in love instantly with the beautiful scenery!! Hannah, the event coordinator that we worked with was so professional and helpful throughout our entire planning process. I feel like I had a handful of questions every other week, and they were answered almost immediately. I was able to tour the venue a few times after booking to get a feel for how and where I wanted decorations. The venue itself was so gorgeous that I didn’t have to do too much!The kitchen was so spacious, PERFECT for our buffet style dinner! I loved the fact that we had planning freedom, such as choosing our own vendors, providing our own alcohol and different options on where to hold our ceremony! The reception hall fit our 115ish guests very comfortably. I have had many of our guests reach out to me about how spacious and beautiful the venue was!! I loved that there were a handful of outdoor spots for our guests to mingle as well!We were/are so blown away with how perfect our ceremony and reception went, and that is thanks to Hannah, Mackenzie and the staff at the Whetstone Center! I will keep this venue in mind for any and all life events due to our amazing experience.If you're thinking about booking, DO IT! You will not be disappointed!

The Whetstone staff is very friendly and responsive. The venue is extremely beautiful and easy to find. Having a bridal suite, ceremony hall, and reception space all in one location is super convenient. Overall very pleasant space and experience. Recommended for wedding closer to 100 guests if you’re planning to have an indoor wedding using their ceremony hall. The full size kitchen was great for our caterer, and they do have a sound system on site, however we chose to use our own DJ. Overall, we loved having our wedding at Whetstone!

My husband and I found Whetstone on a whim while looking for different venues, and thank god we did! 🤍 Hannah is so amazing to work with, she helped us every step of the way. Whetstone makes sure that your day goes as perfect as possible. Any question/concern you have Hannah will go out of her way to address. You also have complete control over how you want to decorate, and what you want the layout of the venue to look like! I seriously can’t recommend Whetstone enough. It’s such a beautiful, intimate setting for a wedding.

The Whetstone Center was the perfect fit for our winter wedding! The moment I walked into the venue, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for; The beautiful wall of windows with the water view was breathtaking! The venue is a blank slate to make it your absolute dream wedding! You can also get in the day before to decorate if you book the whole weekend which was a must for me! We also held our rehearsal dinner here as well. Hannah was a breath of fresh air in all of the wedding planning, she was so prompt and professional! I highly recommend the Whetstone Center for your wedding or parties!

We had our summer wedding here this past year and Whetstone was the perfect venue! We loved the option of indoor or outdoor ceremony and the overall venue layout was unique and intimate. Our guests enjoyed the boat rides and we got the best sunset boat pictures. Pictures by the vineyard also turned out amazing. We were planning our wedding from out-of-state and Hannah was very accommodating and helpful. Would highly recommend this venue.

I came across The Whetstone Center randomly and was instantly attracted to the pictures of the venue. I had always wanted an outdoor ceremony and I loved the space they had. The Whetstone has gorgeous scenery for a photographer's dream. loved having our ceremony and reception all at the same venue. Hannah was so wonderful to work with and was very prompt with responding or answering questions. She was so helpful with making sure our tables and chairs were set up to how we wanted them. Rent the pontoon as I know a lot of my guests enjoyed that during cocktail hour. loved having the outside area at the reception and also a fire pit for late night smores. The Whetstone was more than I could have imagined and was a great place for our ceremony and reception.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding at the Whetstone center in June and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful space to host it at! We knew even before touring Whetstone that it was our dream venue. Immediately drawn in by the stunning lakefront views from the reception area featuring a wall of bay windows, and the ceremony space with the pergola overlooking the water was perfect! We went with a love on the lake theme so it was everything we needed! Not to mention the added perk of renting a pontoon boat ride! Hannah Fisher, their event coordinator, was so sweet and helpful throughout the whole process. While planning tours and meetings she was very responsive and always accommodating to our schedules. From table setup to cleanup their team was amazing and definitely relieved us of some wedding day stresses.When choosing a venue no other space seemed to fit all of our needs at our budget. Whetstone met every expectation and more! Their pricing packages are very reasonable, we opted for a Friday wedding with Thursday setup which was perfect for us. We even had the option to chose our own caterer. One of our favorite things about Whetstone is how much beauty surrounds the property, a hidden gem for sure! The gorgeous lakefront, green vineyards and open fields, your wedding photos will look absolutely beautiful! If you’re thinking of booking with Whetstone, do not hesitate! We absolutely love their venue and would recommend them to anyone for any occasion!

I am so glad we came across the Whetstone Center for our wedding venue. The land around the venue is gorgeous with so many options to choose from for your wedding ceremony spot. They have a lovely designated ceremony spot on the top of the hill with the lake backdrop and an amazing pergola. We however loved the backdrop near the green and growing vineyard, we were so lucky they had a portable pergola option which we chose and Hannah worked with us greatly to figure all of those logistic out. For us, the vineyard was the absolute best backdrop for our wedding ceremony. Of course it was a bonus that they had the indoor ceremony chapel area in case of rain which we just nearly beat! There’s also plenty of gorgeous outdoor photo backdrops to choose from - from the vineyard, lots of greenery and \"nature\" around, a driveway encompassed with trees, corn crops on the side of their land, and of course the gorgeous lake on their newly constructed deck! (Lake background was our favorite!)The inside of the reception venue was AMAZING. We were sold as soon as we walked in to see beautiful red brick and wooden beams, turned the corner and saw the wall of bay windows looking over the lake. We couldn’t have found a more perfect spot. It held all 110 of our guests just fine and still had a great dance floor. We enjoyed having the bar room separate as well. Then having the cornhole boards during cocktail hour was a cool perk too!Working with Hannah was amazing! I can't say enough good things about her. She was always happy, and helpful. Anytime I would text or email her she responded quickly and with great advice and ideas. I would and DO recommend the Whetstone Center to EVERYONE. So thankful we had the perfect venue for our special day.

I am so glad we came across the Whetstone Center for our wedding venue. The land around the venue is gorgeous with so many options to choose from for your wedding ceremony spot. They have a lovely designated ceremony spot on the top of the hill with the lake backdrop and an amazing pergola. We however loved the backdrop near the green and growing vineyard, we were so lucky they had a portable pergola option which we chose and Hannah worked with us greatly to figure all of those logistic out. For us, the vineyard was the absolute best backdrop for our wedding ceremony. Of course it was a bonus that they had the indoor ceremony chapel area in case of rain which we just nearly beat! There’s also plenty of gorgeous outdoor photo backdrops to choose from - from the vineyard, lots of greenery and \"nature\" around, a driveway encompassed with trees, corn crops on the side of their land, and of course the gorgeous lake on their newly constructed deck! (Lake background was our favorite!)The inside of the reception venue was AMAZING. We were sold as soon as we walked in to see beautiful red brick and wooden beams, turned the corner and saw the wall of bay windows looking over the lake. We couldn’t have found a more perfect spot. It held all 110 of our guests just fine and still had a great dance floor. We enjoyed having the bar room separate as well. Then having the cornhole boards during cocktail hour was a cool perk too!Working with Hannah was amazing! I can't say enough good things about her. She was always happy, and helpful. Anytime I would text or email her she responded quickly and with great advice and ideas. I would and DO recommend the Whetstone Center to EVERYONE. So thankful we had the perfect venue for our special day.

The Whetstone Center worked perfectly for our needs and Hannah was helpful throughout the process.Beyond being a gorgeous venue with many backdrops (vineyard, water feature, fields, etc), we were able to select our own catering option, own bar, and really make our wedding feel unique and special to us. This meant we could have our must haves (a dog for our flower girl and the Swensons Food Truck) within a reasonable price.

This venue was a blank canvas. They provide chairs and tables. You can rent tablecloths from them too but we opted to do our linens through an outside source. It's a beautiful place to hold an event. We did an outdoor wedding ceremony with an indoor reception. I'm told they're installing a second A/C unit which is highly recommended because it was super hot on our wedding day and it struggled to keep up. We had about 100 people present. The night was beautiful and our contact, Hannah, was so nice and always available through text or calling. She made it so easy to have all the information needed to have a great wedding day. Thanks Whetstone! Highly recommend them.

What an absolutely delightful day we had! Whetstone Center was simply perfect for our daughter’s wedding shower! We hosted 65 people with plenty of room to spare! The snowy view was amazing with windows spanning the entire length of the venue! The kitchen had everything we needed and fully accessible to restock the perfectly placed, extensive buffet area. The newly installed floors added an amazing touch! All of our guests had such a wonderful time and Tess was such a delight to work with! We could not have asked for anything more!

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Whetstone Center in June of 2017 and it was a fantastic experience. We were able to bring our own catering (Mi Casa in Hartville) and the kitchen worked great for them.It's a very nice facility with large windows and beautiful view of the strip mine lake on which the facility is located. It has a great country feel without actually being far away. This facility provides a great value. The staff is top notch and the scenery is beautiful. I highly recommend this facility.

My husband and I decided to elope and we couldn’t have picked a better place! The little chapel was heated and cozy—perfect for our tiny ceremony. The view out over the water made for the best backdrop for our photos. We were able to take photos on the steps and out on the docks!
