A Fairy Tale Setting for Magical Events
Whitby Castle is a timeless wedding venue based in Westchester County in Rye, NY. This turn-of-the-century castle sits magnificently on 126 acres and boasts a striking resemblance to the original Whitby Abbey monastery in England. Thanks to its sensational views of Long Island Sound, perfectly manicured lawns, and golf course, the venue is the perfect backdrop for your wedding day photos. Built in 1852, the castle exhibits gothic and renaissance architectural design fused with a bright and contemporary indoor decor. The venue can hold up to 250 guests and have several options to choose from depending on the size of your party. Outside the castle, you may wed beneath the archway and continue your celebrations on the outdoor patio facing Milton Harbour. Inside, the venue holds a grand ballroom for receptions that is suitable for large groups. For more intimate gatherings, you can choose between two private reception rooms. The team at Whitby Castle goes above and beyond to ensure that you and your guests are celebrated. They will be by your side every step of the way, making sure that everything runs seamlessly. The venue has a list of preferred vendors that you may choose from that can also simplify the decision-making process. There is an on-site restaurant available that offers catering options and full bar services. Further services available to you include event rentals like glassware, flatware, and linens, as well as valet and parking. When it comes to cuisine, you are in for a treat as there are multiple options available. Some of these include a champagne and bellini greeting, a cocktail hour, hors d’oeuvres, and a reception table with an exotic fruit, cheese, and fresh vegetable display. We loved our experience at Whitby Castle. We were able to host the ceremony outside on the front lawn, and the castle backdrop was stunning.Niki was incredibly helpful with our questions leading up to the day, and Ralph ensured the day ran seamlessly on the actual wedding day. We did have some misunderstandings with our contract in the weeks leading up to the wedding (e.g., we were told Whitby could procure any domestic craft beers we wanted for the reception when we signed the contract, but the reality was significantly more limited), but Niki and Ralph worked with us to make sure we were happy and that they upheld their commitment to us.It is disappointing that you aren't able to guarantee access to the venue more than 2 hours prior to your event (they typically have multiple events a day), but luckily, we were able to get early access to the castle based on availability.They have a gorgeous outdoor space for the cocktail hour overlooking the golf course - we have beautiful photos from the whole night.The food was delicious (much better than we had at the tasting!) and seemingly never ending - exactly what we were hoping for! The bridal attendant was incredibly helpful as well.While the \"getting ready\" areas (bridal suite, groomsmen room) are smaller, our large wedding party made it feel more cramped then they are in reality. The team had appetizers and drinks set up for our group before the ceremony and during cocktail hour as well - it was great to be able to sneak upstairs to grab some food in private!Overall, it was a beautiful venue to get married. The team goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful day - I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a venue near New York City!

My go-to phrase whenever anyone asked me how my wedding planning was going was that I totally lucked out with Whitby Castle. From day one, Niki & Ralph made everything so easy and seamless. Our wedding day itself was dreamy and perfect. Gabriel and Rosa made us all feel at ease and accommodated us and our needs so nicely. I really just cannot recommend Whitby enough. The Whitby Castle was our dream wedding location. It was such a wonderful place to get married, and we would do it all over again there in a heartbeat! My husband and I fell in love with it the moment we saw it. Nicki and Ralph were so easy to work with, and everything ran smoothly throughout the planning process and during the wedding day. The Castle also provided the food and cake, which all tasted delicious. We took the most incredible pictures during our ceremony and reception; it truly is a unique and special place to get married. I would give it 6 stars if possible!

We wish we could give Whitby Castle more than five stars.!We just had our wedding there, and it exceeded even our highest hopes and expectations. Niki and Ralph were incredibly warm, responsive, courteous, and professional, from the contract to the moment we drove off at the end of the reception.The food was exceptionally good, and it was plentiful. They also offered us a few extra food offerings (a couple special appetizers, a sundae bar with all the toppings you could ever want, donuts and apple cider that guests could take as they left, etc.) that were not at all expensive, and we got so many compliments from everyone for them. The whole event ran smoothly thanks to Ralph's work orchestrating it the whole afternoon and evening, and their server staff were also very professional and on the ball. To say we feel we got our money's worth is an understatement, and we took advantage of the long holiday weekend to have our event on a Thursday, at a discounted price and with a lower minimum of attendees. We can't list the myriad little details offered by Whitby Castle that made the whole thing easier and more affordable than expected. We were able to relax, savor the moment, and enjoy our day with all of our friends and family. We cannot recommend Whitby Castle enough. Thank you, Niki and Ralph!

I do not know where to begin. My wife and I had a great feeling after seeing Whitby Castle when we were touring venues and we're so glad we listening to our gut. Niki (Sales Manager) addressed our every need and question even before we made our decision. You could tell she truly just wanted us to make a decision that we felt comfortable making. And because of that (on top of the beautiful castle and grounds), we felt very comfortable moving forward with Whitby.Their prices were very competitive compared to other places we looked at in the tri-state/New England area. We also never saw a more \"bang for your buck\" type deal than with Whitby. The open bar, services stations, hor dourves, etc. were all priced in and ended up costing less than what other places offered if you were to include those same items. Niki was very responsive to our emails and calls leading up to the wedding and really felt like a teammate in gearing up for our big day. Then came the day of the wedding and we met Ralph, our maitre d'. This guy is a pro's pro. The Whitby staff is a well oiled machine and Ralph was the maestro that kept everything together. It was hectic leading up to the wedding (due to external factors with timing on our end, nothing to Whitby's fault), but Ralph kept us on track. He was calm, cool, and collected and those feelings rubbed off on us as well. We had originally planned to have our ceremony outside on the front lawn, however a last minute storm rolled in 30 minutes before showtime. Ralph had his team move our arch inside and set up the ballroom for our ceremony. It was mind blowing how quickly and beautifully they set up the ballroom for our ceremony. Then they had to move it back to fit all the tables while our guests were on the deck for cocktail hour! We were really limited on time but Ralph helped us make use of every minute we had all while keeping us at ease and allowing us to savor each moment. My wife's bridal attendant was also world-class. She did a great job bustling her dress, stealing some hor dourves for us while we were taking pictures during the cocktail hour, and made sure my wife never went thirsty. I'd also be remiss to not mention how amazing all the food was. We received multiple comments from our guests on how delicious all the appetizers, courses, and desserts were. It really felt like we were treated like royalty at the Whitby Castle. Couldn't recommend this venue and this group of people more. Thank you Whitby!

We had our wedding at Whitby Castle in June, and it was just beautiful. From start to finish, the whole experience was so easy. Niki helped us pick our date and was available for my endless questions through email. Ralph helped us figure out the table layout, schedule, etc., and was there as our maitre'd to make sure everything ran smoothly. Our guests raved about the beauty of the castle itself, as well as the food. The appetizers and dinner were fantastic, and the entire staff helped make the night easy for both of us. I highly recommend having your wedding here!

RUN to Whitby Castle, I promise you won’t be sorry! We had a short list of venues to tour, but then we found Whitby and we knew we had found the ‘perfect’ place for our wedding (it was the first and only place we visited!) Whitby offers with so many ‘perks’ and helped make the planning process extremely simple, while remaining extremely affordable – it’s truly a hidden gem!From the first email contact through the end of our reception, the staff, service, and overall event coordination and flexibility was nothing short of amazing. HUGE shout out to Niki, Ralph, and Roxy for being such superstars – wedding planning and our special day would not have been the same without you! Niki was extremely responsive, friendly, and patient in answering all our questions and so accommodating as we sorted out various details leading up to the event. Ralph was our maitre d’/main point of contact and was amazing. He helped coordinate final details, managed the timeline of events and was so accommodating with last minute changes. Finally, I don’t know what I would’ve done without my bridal attendant, Roxy. She went above and beyond to help keep me stress-free and was always available to assist with anything we needed throughout the evening. Everyone here is nothing short of amazing! There is no other place my husband and I would have seen ourselves getting married except here, it really was a dream come true. Yasmin was the real MVP that day as she was amazing at getting everything moving, helping my family set some things up, and just taking care of us all throughout the day. Everyone here is nothing short of amazing! There is no other place my husband and I would have seen ourselves getting married except here, it really was a dream come true. Yasmin was the real MVP that day as she was amazing at getting everything moving, helping my family set some things up, and just taking care of us all throughout the day. She really made sure everything ran smoothly and even gave us champagne after the ceremony. The food is TO DIE FOR, everything is delicious and everyone that came is STILL raving about the food! Niki, Ralph, and all the staff were absolutely incredible. From the planning stages to the actual wedding day, everyone made things incredibly easy and seamless. Niki and Ralph made sure all of our needs/questions/concerns were thoroughly addressed prior to the day so that on our wedding day we just had to show up and enjoy everything! I got ready at Whitby that morning and I would highly recommend - we easily got in and we had plenty of space for all of our dresses / hair and makeup / and relaxing. Not to mention the beautiful room and lighting as a backdrop for our getting ready photos! Then after we returned from our wedding ceremony (at an offsite church) everything I had dropped off earlier in the week was perfectly set up so all we had to do was enjoy some drinks / snacks and get to taking our pictures. We even got to enjoy a little of cocktail hour! All of our guests were incredibly impressed with all aspects of the venue from start to finish. The castle itself was great and guests loved the different rooms and patio (which was warm and enjoyed by many guests despite being 30 degrees and raining outside). The food was amazing - guests loved the comfort food station, so many passed hors d’oeuvres, beautiful salads and dinner, and delicious Italian cookies and cake. The staff was so attentive and professional. All we can say is 1000/10 experience - I am so glad we booked Whitby Castle for our wedding!! Best day ever!

My husband and I looked at several wedding venues in Westchester before visiting Whitby but once we toured the venue and met with Niki to discuss details we both knew that this is the place we wanted to have our reception. The beauty of the venue is apparent on the outside and inside but what really sets Whitby apart is the emphasis that the entire team places on making the couple feel taken care of leading up to and on the day of the wedding. Having Whitby as a venue was like having several other coordinators who were more than happy to answer all of our questions and make sure that everything we needed to pull off the Wedding was already in place before we arrived. The maître d' Ralph is one of the most incredible people we worked with throughout the wedding process and we felt so at ease on the day. We understand the stress couples are under leading up to a wedding but having Whitby as our venue and the team by our side made the day so easy and memorable. Even with a wedding planner don't underestimate the benefit of having a great team at your venue. This is not to mention the incredible service of the wait staff and bar tenders who served the best wedding food we have ever had. We had so many people complement us on the quality of the food stations during the cocktail hour and the great meal that was served after. They even provided hot cider and donuts as guests left. We hope to come back to Whitby soon to celebrate more special events!

Everyone at the The Whitby went above and beyond! The room we had was beautiful. The set up was gorgeous, stunning!! My guests raved about how stunning driving up to and walking into the cattle was ! The food!!! The food was amazing! Absolutely delicious!!! From the cocktail hour to the dinner! The set up was beautiful! Our guests kept talking about the food! Not only was the cake delicious it was stunning! My daughter had a picture of a cake and they replicated it perfectly!!!!! My daughter was so thankful. She said her night was perfect!!

whitby castle was THE BEST decision we made when it came to booking our wedding venue! my husband and I got married on October 20th, 2022 a beautifully sunny yet chilly day and i could not have asked for a better place to have our ceremony and reception. we decided too book the whitby castle because it checked off all we were looking for. 1. one wedding venue2. on-site ceremony3. breathtaking grounds4. unique venue location 5. and overall AMAZING STAFFfrom the start Niki was absolutely amazing and accommodating, communicating with me and the gazillion questions I had about every aspect of the wedding. our 80 email chain was never ending but I couldn't thank her enough for getting back to me quickly and answering all my questions.our wedding ceremony and reception were beautiful, the staff and Ralph ( maitre'd) amazing, and the food from cocktail hour to dinner and dessert was delicious. we did have several hiccups throughout the day from getting ready at the venue and the heat not being on, to an incorrect appetizer that was served to our guests as the first course of our reception. when this was pointed out to Ralph he IMMEDIATELY ran to the kitchen to find out what happened only to discover there was a different chef, and he apologized thoroughly providing us with an extra bar and bartender for our day which was much appreciated. even with those hiccups the day was perfect and Ralph and his team had everything moving smoothly! they helped set items up and even packed them away at the end of the night, organized pictures with the photographer and really made sure all guests and bridal party were taken care of!I've had multiple guests come up to us over the weeks and reach out over the phone stating how beautiful the wedding was and the location was unlike any other wedding theyve been too!whitby castle is truly a gem in the wedding world and I would do it again just to experience another night dancing away in a castle with my husband.I cannot thank them enough, and I would recommend them to any bride that is looking to get married in the Hudson Valley area!

My husband and I got married at Whitby in August and if we could give 6 stars we would. The venue is beautiful, the staff is amazing, and we got countless compliments about the food.Ralph couldn’t have been easier to work with. He was kind, accommodating, and was effortless in his management of the night. Due to the August heat, we decided last minute to move our ceremony inside - Ralph was able to get this done for us with a smile on his face (despite the fact that I’m sure this was stressful). He worked with the DJ to ensure there was never a dull moment and that things were timed well so that we could enjoy cocktail hour and the reception, including having a tray prepared from cocktail hour for my husband and I to enjoy before mingling with our guests.We are secretly hoping that one of our friends will get married at Whitby so that we can enjoy it from the perspective of a guest - it was really an unforgettable night for all involved and we couldn’t be happier on our decision to get married at Whitby!

My husband and I got married at Whitby in August and if we could give 6 stars we would. The venue is beautiful, the staff is amazing, and we got countless compliments about the food.Ralph couldn’t have been easier to work with. He was kind, accommodating, and was effortless in his management of the night. Due to the August heat, we decided last minute to move our ceremony inside - Ralph was able to get this done for us with a smile on his face (despite the fact that I’m sure this was stressful). He worked with the DJ to ensure there was never a dull moment and that things were timed well so that we could enjoy cocktail hour and the reception, including having a tray prepared from cocktail hour for my husband and I to enjoy before mingling with our guests.We are secretly hoping that one of our friends will get married at Whitby so that we can enjoy it from the perspective of a guest - it was really an unforgettable night for all involved and we couldn’t be happier on our decision to get married at Whitby!

Niki and Ralph were the most amazing team that made our wedding day INCREDIBLE. Niki was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Part of what made the day memorable was Ralph and his personality. Our families loved him and we can’t imagine a better team and nicer people to work with for such an event in one’s life. We received so many compliments on how everything was put together and ran. We honestly could say that we went into the day with no worries or stress because everything was handled. As for the venue, it was an absolute dream to get married at the Whitby. The food tasting was spectacular. We received full portions of each entree that we chose and the quality and taste was just as good if not better the day of our wedding. The skirt steak was beyond amazing! We were lucky enough to get married on the lawn with the beautiful view of the castle. Everything was set up just the way we wanted. Cocktail hour was beautifully done outside on the patio with views of the golf course. Last but not least, we wanted to give a special shout out to our bridal attendant Rosa. She held my dress and made it look good right before I walked down the aisle and even bustled it for me in the middle of cocktail hour. She went above and beyond and we really appreciated her kindness and hard work.

Whitby Castle was a truly gorgeous and amazing venue for a wedding! You can't ask for a better backdrop than the castle itself for your ceremony and photoshoot, and the inside is just as beautiful. We were floored when we saw the way the ballroom was set up for our reception. We also love the way the cocktail hour is set up - it begins in the corridor and leads out onto the deck, with the welcome glass of champagne and food stations in multiple locations as you enter. Our guests told us they loved the way they kept being surprised by more food stations! The food was also delicious, as many of our guests agreed.In addition to being the perfect venue, the staff at Whitby are also extremely friendly and accommodating. They were easy to reach and receptive to the many, many questions we had leading up to the big day. They were able to provide everything we asked for with ease, and day-of, our maitre d' Ralph made sure everything ran smoothly. Everything went off without a hitch and we didn't need to worry about a thing. Both he and Niki, who we worked with a lot leading up to the event, were two of the nicest people you could ask for.

If looking for a seamless, affordable, DELICIOUS and completely luxurious wedding experience - look no further than Whitby. I cannot recommend this venue and the staff who work here enough. A week ago today we enjoyed the royal wedding of our dreams. It was the most incredible and insanely special day and not at all by accident! Since choosing Whitby as our venue for its connection with Whitby / Whitby Abbey in the UK (my husband is British) - Niki, Gabriel, Ralph, Rosa and Leanna all played a part in helping us ensure everything we wanted, we had. I had chosen at the start of our wedding planning process to organize all elements myself. Only hiring a DJ / live sax, jazz quartet for cocktail hour, photographer and videographer - I did the rest myself... no planner, no florist, nada. And so over the course of the past 15 months, while working I created centerpieces, floral arches and pooled together all the decor we used to turn Whitby into OUR castle for the day. Managing a majority of the planning myself was hard work - but the Whitby dream team made it easy... answering ALL my questions by e-mail and working with us on all fronts to ensure our day considered everything important to us. Every single ask they found a solution for. And I mean EVERY ASK. From ensuring the outside flower pots contained beautiful fresh flowers, reviewing our timeline queries, and welcoming us each and every time we popped in sometimes just to say hello when I was in town from London (!) - through to accommodating our schedules for my wedding decor drop off, set up and pickup, allowing our darling dog to stay in the Grooms room during our reception so she could take part in photos, shlepping us around with their golf cart and bringing beers / drinks to us during photos... my God. And the list goes on! The tremendous and genuine effort they made for us was truly outstanding and was worth every penny. From day one, they all as a team made my family, husband and I feel so cared about which to me is worth its weight in gold. We were not yet another Whitby wedding on your roster, but THE Colonna Grout Whitby Wedding.So if this venue is even remotely up your ally, don't hesitate. BOOK IT! The service, the FOOD, the ambience and cost cannot be rivaled. And having scoured a majority of venues across the Hudson valley and Connecticut I can assure you - there is no better place to have your special day!

We had such a beautiful wedding at Whitby Castle and could not be happier with our experience working with them. We looked at a lot of venues that left something to be desired – they were too small, hosted multiple events at the same time, etc. But when we walked into the ballroom at Whitby, we immediately fell in love and booked shortly after. Every room is beautiful, especially the ballroom and outdoor terrace, making it a great choice for a partially outdoor event. We had no problems postponing our date with them due to the pandemic. Niki was so friendly and always available to answer my (often very specific and anxious) questions. Ralph helped run our day to the minute, with a sense of humor. He checked on us throughout the wedding day to make sure things were happening when and how we wanted. We used an outside caterer and, from all we could see, they worked together seamlessly. Our guests were as happy as we were. I'm so glad we found Whitby, and we would recommend it wholeheartedly, whether you're having a wedding or other kind of celebration.

Book your wedding here!! We had our wedding this past weekend after having to postpone it a year due to COVID (which they were very willing to accommodate). Everything ran so smoothly! Ralph and Niki are SO friendly/personable and guide you seamlessly through the entire process. They were always available to answer any questions. All of our guests raved about the food. Our bridal attendant Rosa was also amazing and made sure that we got to eat literally everything (seriously - I think she gave us about 6 plates of food from the cocktail hour at our table, and Ralph got us a huge plate of the desserts at the end). My husband and I had our wedding here in January of 2022. The food was amazing, the staff is amazing, the reception hall was perfect. Niki and Ralph are so easy to work with and accommodating, chef Dante was brilliant, and we even had a staff member (Willy we are so thankful) pull us aside during cocktail hour to make sure we ate!!! My husband has a gluten allergy and they worked with us effortlessly. So very thankful to them !

We knew it instantly. The venue and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The fact that it's an actual castle built in the 1800s is amazing. You truly feel as if you are in England, far away from everything. Our guests are raving about the INCREDIBLE food from start to finish (the Chef is SO sweet and talented), the magic and romance of the day, the flawless team running it all--RALPH, our maitre d', was simply fantastic. He kept us on track the entire night. He's fun and personable, yet professional, and you can tell he has done this a million times--but still enjoys every moment. My Bridal Attendant Stefanie was absolutely God sent. We had the most perfect day, straight out of a movie. We were beyond elated to see our dreams come true. Everything you can think of--communication, help, professionalism, incredible food, gorgeous views, countless photo opportunities, generosity, talented & friendly staff, and a stunning place to get married--is found at Whitby Castle.

Everything was artful while also delicious. Gabriel was so attentive to us during our tasting and the whole night of our wedding to make sure we were always happy. Gabriel's smile can only be met with more smiles. We loved the space which has such natural beauty that you need not worry about budgeting for anything else. You're not going to find another castle, on a golf course, on the Sound ever. This is the one. Gabriel's smile can only be met with more smiles. We loved the space which has such natural beauty that you need not worry about budgeting for anything else. You're not going to find another castle, on a golf course, on the Sound ever. This is the one. Please read my/our glowing review for Whitby Castle below:Whitby Castle was phenomenal and a godsend. Firstly we're both from NY originally but moved to Maryland shortly after getting engaged and let me tell you that wedding planning from a different state is a nightmare BUT when we were browsing venues, we set up an appointment to tour Whitby with Niki (who is a total sweetheart) and due to pandemic issues Niki was unable to join us for the tour but told us to explore the castle at our leisure. The vibe of the venue: 10/10. We drove up to the Castle and were immediately blown away by the atmosphere outside. THEN we stepped inside and fell even more in love. The ballroom was so light, airy and warm; it was completely inviting. So of course we booked! Niki answered each and every tiny question I had with a completely positive attitude and for that I was very grateful! The food: 10/10 would recommend. When we had our tasting my now-husband turned to me and said \"I hope the food at the wedding is half as good as this\" because as we all know, most wedding food is average at best. NOT at Whitby. The food on the day itself was absolutely delicious! I'm sad we missed cocktail hour but I heard nothing but positive things from my guests regarding the food.Ralph and the staff: 11/10. Ralph was professional, hilarious and accommodating to every little whim I had for my perfect day. He was the organization to our chaos and we would've been lost without him. The rest of the staff at the venue was extremely pleasant and efficient. The waiter who helped us as our tasting was there on the day of and rememberd us and was very happy to see us again which was sweet! I seriously recommend this venue for anyone looking to host a smaller but luxe wedding. We ultimately had around 110 guests and it felt intimate but no one was stuck on top of each other either (which is super important in a Covid world). We definitely could've had another table or two of guests but I'm glad it worked out the way it did!

From the beginning my husband and I knew that we wanted to get married at a unique and beautiful venue that was like none of the other typical catering halls we saw in the NY/Westchester area . As soon as we walked into the Whitby Castle we knew that this was the place that we were going to get married at! From initial planning all the way through to our tasting and day of set up the entire Whitby Castle staff (special shout out to Nikki, Ralph and Will!) truly exceeded our expectations for the most amazing wedding day we could ask for. There are so many unique and special touches to this venue and it’s set up that it truly felt like we were at our home hosting our friends and family celebrating our wedding. We were able to utilize the back wraparound porch for our cocktail hour even on an early November night with heating lamps and the unique flow of the food stations allowed for each of our guests to truly take in all of the sights. Our guests have all raved about the food including every cocktail hour station that was served including some picky family members and specifically some had mentioned that they’ve never had such a fresh and hot meal served at a wedding before. Ralph truly brought the whole night together and worked with our DJ to coordinate each point of the night. He also was able to seamlessly set up all of the decor that we brought in (& we definitely brought a lot) - I know some other venues are hesitant to do that so we really appreciated the extra touch. The Whitby is such a picturesque location conveniently located off major highways in the area for ease of transportation- which our out of state guests appreciated. Overall we could not have asked for a more amazing day and wedding venue from start to finish and truly would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much to Whitby Castle staff !!!

We got married at the end of November and are still hearing compliments from friends and family about what a wonderful wedding we had at such a beautiful venue! Niki, Ralph and the whole team at Whitby Castle did such a phenomenal job bringing all of our planning and efforts into reality. We had originally booked our wedding to be November of last year but had ultimately decided to postpone due to COVID. Niki was absolutely wonderful during this whole process where they had offered us to select a backup date. If another couple were interested in that date, Niki said that we would be informed as to whether we wanted to switch to the backup date or select a secondary one. Ultimately, we made the call to postpone our wedding date by June 2020 for November 2021 and Whitby Castle was incredibly accommodating and did not charge us to do so. We had heard of many pandemic couples who weren't given the same courtesy so that alone made us so much more confident in the team we were working with. Niki also worked with us to open the bridal suite an hour earlier than the normal time block would allow so that the girls and I could get ready sooner which made a huge impact on our day. Our meeting with Ralph really helped solidify the plans for the wedding day. The food was absolutely fantastic at cocktail hour and at dinner. We would highly recommend getting the Syrah braised short ribs as an entrée as they were an absolute hit with our guests (and ourselves). My one cousin even commented that this was the best food he had ever had at a wedding and he's been to quite a lot which was certainly high praise! If you like great food, a beautiful venue, and an unparalleled team to work with, look no further than Whitby Castle!

When looking for a venue, the castle hit all of our requirements - full weather protection, something unique, and no stuffy ballrooms without windows. The incredible staff was an added bonus! Starting with our venue tour, Niki was prompt with answering any and all questions we had about the castle, logistics of the day, and planning needs to coordinate with our vendors. A few weeks before the wedding, we met with Ralph to go over our day-of details and we immediately knew we were in good hands. We custom-made most of our decorations and Ralph and his team did an impeccable job making our vision a reality. Our guests and families are still raving about the food (which is to die for), the extensive cocktail hour spread, the amazing synchronized serving of dinner, and the attention to detail throughout the entire night. We're still floating from our wedding night at the castle and could not be happier to recommend an amazing venue with an even more amazing staff.

With Niki's help, we were able to postpone it twice....but the third time was the charm!! From the incredible food tasting a month before, hosted by Jasmine, we knew this would be a wonderful day. Although COVID had a resurgence shortly before the wedding day, the care Maitre 'D Ralph took to ensure that our day would be the most wonderful ever was, without question, beyond our wildest dreams. From start to finish, he had everything under control like clockwork precision. The food was delicious and so beautifully prepared and presented. Our guests could not say enough about how much they enjoyed the day. The attention he and his staff paid to every detail was so much appreciated. When planning for our wedding, we made sure to research for the perfect venue. The Whitby was the first location we looked at and we fell absolutely in love. It is open, airy, and has a beautiful backdrop for photos (a perfectly manicured golf course and the Sound in the background). However, we didn't want to lock down the first place we saw. We looked at other venues across NY and NJ but nothing could compare to the Whitby. We kept comparing other venues to it and finally decided that this was the venue for us. While we did not have our ceremony on site, the front grass area is picturesque for an outdoor ceremony (the castle in the background). Leading up to planning, Niki answered any and all questions that I had. When we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID, the process was very simple and we did not have a hard time (unlike other brides I knew at other venues). This goes to show how professional and caring they are. Ralph (Maitre'd) was an absolute rockstar and made sure our event ran smoothly the night of. He checked in on us throughout the night, made sure we had all of our cocktail hour set on the table (since of course we missed it while taking photos), had high energy, and was supportive of both my husband and I at all points. Our guests could not stop telling us how great the food was the entire night and are still raving about it (and they have very high standards). It was important that we had good food and good atmosphere -- and both were even better than we could have imagined. All of our guests left having an amazing time and enjoyed the beauty of the castle and taste of the food! Overall, I cannot recommend having your wedding or event at the Whitby enough!

When planning for our wedding, we made sure to research for the perfect venue. The Whitby was the first location we looked at and we fell absolutely in love. It is open, airy, and has a beautiful backdrop for photos (a perfectly manicured golf course and the Sound in the background). However, we didn't want to lock down the first place we saw. We looked at other venues across NY and NJ but nothing could compare to the Whitby. We kept comparing other venues to it and finally decided that this was the venue for us. While we did not have our ceremony on site, the front grass area is picturesque for an outdoor ceremony (the castle in the background). He made sure that things ran smoothly and there was never a moment where I felt like I needed to do something myself, everything was already done, even before I had to ask. I can't thank the Whitby team enough, especially Niki and Ralph for helping us host the most amazing wedding I could have ever imagined at the Whitby Castle. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we did have to postpone from last July 4th 2020 to this July 24th, 2021. The fact that we were able to postpone to another Saturday night in itself was amazing and beyond lucky! They were extremely helpful with the entire process of moving our wedding. They truly made it so seamless (They even honored their 2020 prices which was INCREDIBLE). The event itself was beyond expectations. The food was amazing, the setup was amazing and the staff was beyond helpful and amazing. We did add a lot to our wedding with extra cocktail hour stations and a Mister softee truck for dessert. Ralph made sure to make this all flow extremely well. I am so happy I booked with the Whitby Castle and Lessings property. It was really the perfect day.

On the day of our wedding, everything ran seamlessly! We had to delay twice due to COVID, and Nikki/Whitby staff could not have been more compassionate, understanding, and easy to work with in spite of the uncertain circumstances. They made the delays/rescheduling MUCH lest stressful, and I will be forever grateful for that. Ralph was amazing in the days leading up to the wedding and the day of - he made sure everything went seamlessly and kept everything calm! The venue itself is absolutely breath taking. We took photos inside of the willow tree, and they came out beautiful. The ceremony photos look like scenes from a fairy tale. The cocktail hour on the patio is perfect, and the ball room is perfectly sized and gorgeous! Everyone raved about how good the food and drinks were. I could not recommend Whitby Castle more - the staff are incredibly accommodating, and I feel so lucky that they were there to support us during our COVID postponements. It shows the true character of the business. Our day was PERFECT and it was all because of Whitby.

The Whitby Castle was the perfect venue for our June 11th wedding! We had to postpone our original wedding date, and Niki Viera, the Catering Sales Manager, did a fantastic job working with us to secure a new date and provide timely updates along the way. Niki communicated with us frequently, was always available, and answered every question under the sun. For us, the Whitby Castle delivered on everything we wanted for our wedding venue. Beautiful grounds, an outdoor cocktail hour setting, a large ballroom with plenty of natural light, high ceilings, and a very large dance floor separate from the dining area, and of course, outstanding food. The menu was very important to us, and we were even allowed a second tasting to improve on selections and get things right. Our guests raved about the food at the cocktail hour, during the sit-down dinner, and even the cake, cookies and to go donuts! We started working with Ralph Bracco, the operations manager, a month or so before the wedding, and WOW is he amazing. Just a very nice person, so easy to work with, really listened to us and was extremely well prepared. He was everywhere the night of the wedding and had every last detail under control. He does an incredible job. A million times over we would pick the Whitby Castle and Lessing's Hospitality Group. It was the best day of our lives!

Our livestream wasn't working right before the wedding, and Ralph Bracco, the operations manager, offered to let us try on his personal laptop. Ralph also offered to move our flower arch from the ceremony space to behind our sweetheart table — he didn't have to do that, but he realized it would be nice and jumped on the opportunity. And when we said we'd like to do a few sparklers at our exit, he said he had a few extra-long ones he'd be happy to give us. These were a few of the small ways he went above and beyond what he had to do. On top of that, he was charming with our families, and everyone loved him. My bridal attendant made sure I had everything I needed throughout the day. She was incredibly sweet and attentive.Niki helped us throughout planning. She was totally accommodating, helpful and kind. She even understood and handled it with grace when we thought we might have to cancel the wedding due to COVID. She, and everyone at Whitby, was sensitive and supportive in helping us take COVID precautions.We couldn't have had a better experience, and frankly, I've been procrastinating this review simply because I knew I couldn't do it justice. We're incredibly thankful and will never forget the wonderful service we had on our wedding. And by the way — the venue is gorgeous and the food is good.

Niki was amazing she made the whole process of planning the wedding there very easy. Niki was very helpful with any questions/concerns myself and my future husband had. The day of the wedding Sean was very nice I let him know the day of I really wanted my ceremony outside and he had everything all set up for that. Sean was very helpful and kept everything on track. Anything I needed or my future husband needed Sean helped and was really nice . Rosa was also amazing. She helped me with my dress and anything I needed. From the beginning stages of booking this venue for our wedding, our experience with Whitby Castle was excellent. Our original date was 5/31/20, but we had to postpone and reduce our guest count due to COVID. Niki helped us reschedule our wedding to 9/26/20 and was so helpful about answering our many questions leading up to the date. She kept us informed about the COVID situation and the regulations they would be following to keep everyone safe. Ralph also went through the day's schedule with us prior to the wedding, went over every detail, and was very flexible. Niki and Ralph helped us make our menu as vegan and gluten-free as possible, which we truly appreciated. They gave us so many great options and the food was fantastic! On the wedding day, Ralph was always there to see that everything went smoothly and help us with whatever we needed. Our bridal attendant, Rosa, also went above and beyond for us. When one of our guests had to urgently leave to catch a train, Ralph was there to help and Rosa literally drove her to the train station! We couldn't believe how generous they were. All of the staff were professional, friendly, and followed safety procedures like wearing masks and gloves at all times. Our guests had a great time, and so did we. We highly recommend Whitby Castle. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful venue or a more accommodating staff.

From the beginning stages of booking this venue for our wedding, our experience with Whitby Castle was excellent. Our original date was 5/31/20, but we had to postpone and reduce our guest count due to COVID. Niki helped us reschedule our wedding to 9/26/20 and was so helpful about answering our many questions leading up to the date. She kept us informed about the COVID situation and the regulations they would be following to keep everyone safe. Ralph also went through the day's schedule with us prior to the wedding, went over every detail, and was very flexible. Niki and Ralph helped us make our menu as vegan and gluten-free as possible, which we truly appreciated. They gave us so many great options and the food was fantastic! On the wedding day, Ralph was always there to see that everything went smoothly and help us with whatever we needed. Our bridal attendant, Rosa, also went above and beyond for us. When one of our guests had to urgently leave to catch a train, Ralph was there to help and Rosa literally drove her to the train station! We couldn't believe how generous they were. All of the staff were professional, friendly, and followed safety procedures like wearing masks and gloves at all times. Our guests had a great time, and so did we. We highly recommend Whitby Castle. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful venue or a more accommodating staff.

Although we haven't been able to have our wedding at Whitby yet due to COVID, this review is mainly for Niki and her continuous help in navigating postponements/rescheduling. We've had to postpone twice now and both times it's been seamless & stress-free thanks to her. It's been a difficult year but we're glad Whitby/Lessings has been so understanding and easy to work with. Can't wait to work with them for the actual wedding!

I had my bridal shower at Whitby Castle and I highly recommend having any type of party or event here. From the very beginning Niki, our event coordinator, was super helpful and kind and answered all of my questions. She was amazing to work with and I can't say enough good things about her!! I also want to give a special shoutout to Will because he went above and beyond to make sure my guests were taken care of and all of our guests loved him! We had our dream wedding planned at Whitby Castle for June 2020 but Covid-19 came along and we ultimately made the decision to cancel our wedding. That said, we are really bummed about having to cancel because Niki has been AMAZING since day one. She was always prompt, very accommodating, patient and understanding of everything we had to deal with.Customer Service is 5 stars!! I truly wish we could have had our wedding there and hope we can host an event there one day. Thanks for everything Niki!!

The Whitby Castle and Lessings are a fantastic company. Literally every detail was well taken care of with a strong background in obvious experience and professionalism. We had almost 200 guests, the ceremony on the lawn and plenty of room for all of us to dance. I understand things are different now with COVID but I would only expect that they would handle this in the best way when it is time for wedding season again. Catering is delishhh and the castle makes you feel at home. Royalty for a day. Highly recommend.

We were sold when we saw the wedding packages they offer. They have been willing to work with us and so accommodating throughout this whole process (shout out Niki!) and we couldn’t be more thankful. As is the case with many couples, my Fiancé and I were faced with the unsettling news that the wedding we had been planning for the past year was going to be postponed due to the recent world events. At a time when things seemed to be in complete shambles, Whitby Castle/Lessings went above and beyond to make sure everything would be ok. Niki was extremely supportive and helpful when reaching out to deliver the news. We were easily able to rebook our event without any concern. She even waived our minimum guest count in the case that guests would no longer be able to attend. Whitby Castle has always been fantastic to work with. Our food tasting was absolutely delicious. Any questions we have, Gabriela and Ralph have answered very quickly (even on the weekends). We couldn't ask for anything better. We are so appreciative of what Whitby Castle has done and can not wait to celebrate our special day. I have the utmost confidence that the team will make sure everything is perfect.

For starters we had to postpone our wedding twice because of COVID, Whitby was exceedingly accommodating of this and honored our original contract throughout the process. The staff at Whitby are exceptional, Niki was extremely responsive throughout the whole process. Ralph was fun and energetic, he made sure the entire night went according to plan and that we didn't have to worry about a single thing. The food was exceptional and the castle itself is stunning. We were just recently married at Whitby last month - possibly the last wedding before the pandemic!We booked Whitby's all inclusive package which made planning so easy. I want him to work every event I ever attend from here on out! The day of the wedding couldn't have gone more seamless from a bride's perspective. So many things I would never even think of - the staff took care of. I was a little disappointed because we had the late night snack option but many of our guests told us that they had no idea it was even available because no one told them. And being so busy the whole night, I missed out on certain aspects of the cocktail hour and other goodies that were available. The food was excellent and I would love to go back to the restaurant or book future events at the castle. As much as some things were stressful and I could've really blown a gasket about certain things not going the way I had planned, the time spent at the actual reception couldn't have been more perfect. Thanks to all at Whitby for an amazing day.
