Here, amidst beautifully manicured gardens & lawns with sprawling woodlands, & peaceful ponds, your guests will celebrate your love story in a picturesque setting albeit the Cabin in the Hilltop Gardens or the Emerald Room of the Irish Gardens. Originally a gift to his wife Edith, Clarence Wickhamâs wish was for the public to enjoy this beautiful land as much as they loved living here. What better way to celebrate your day than in a place that was originally founded on the enduring power of true love? The Cabin in the Hilltop Garden boasts an Amphitheatre, which has an amazing view of the Hartford skyline, and is where the two of you will exchange your forever vows on the terrace beneath a wrought iron arbor. Afterwards, guests can mingle during cocktail hour, stroll through the grounds, play lawn games, or relax on quaint rocking chairs. Wickham Park is the perfect setting for wedding photographs, all the while soaking in the beauty of nature. Evening receptions for up to 150 people take place in a marquee tent adjoined to the cabin. White seating, round tables, and elegant linens set the tone for a wonderful night of dinner & dancing. The dance floor is located inside the cabin, a rustic & refined space characterized by polished wooden floors, exposed wooden beams, & a grand stone fireplace. The intimate Emerald Room which is located in the Irish Garden & features a water fountain, a 6-foot stone walled garden filled with cherubic statues, florals, and greenery. Following your ceremony under the white gazebo, you & up to 98 of your wedding guests can make their way to the Emerald Room for an evening to remember. Diana and the staff at Wickham park were wonderful and we are truly grateful for their help and professionalism on the wedding day ensuring the timeline proceeded smoothly with good communication. Diana was so supportive; she helped my husband and I bring in decor the night before to make the big day that much smoother and always got back promptly via email with any questions or concerns. Diana also allowed us to hang a painting my husband created for the wedding which was used as the guestbook. Wickham offers truly affordable preferred partners for catering, bartending services and entertainment.

We could not have picked a more perfect venue for our October wedding. The Cabin at Wickham Park was everything we dreamed about, and more. It was so easy working with the event coordinators; from scheduling a tour, saving our date, choosing vendors from an exclusive vendor list, to the midnight emails when I couldn't sleep and had a question. On the day of our wedding, there were 2 rangers that walked around and made sure everything was ok and kept the fire lit. They were absolutely fantastic. I wish I could do my wedding over only because it was perfect and the most fun I've had in a long time. Thank you Wickham Park for making our dream wedding come true!

We got married on 10.6.2023 and Wickham Park was truly the perfect venue! The gardens were beautiful for our first look photos and we had our ceremony at the Cabin. You could not beat the sunset views of downtown Hartford with the first signs of fall foliage in the background. Our guests raved about how gorgeous it was. On top of that, every single person we worked with was incredible! Diana went above and beyond to support with any questions and was so kind and helpful. Their staff was so thoughtful on our special day. I cannot recommend Wickham Park enough!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Wickham Park. Our wedding was 6/17/23. We had the most amazing wedding day and every staff member helped to make that happen. From the event coordinator, to the rangers, everyone worked so hard to make us feel special and like nothing else mattered but our special day. We chose the Emerald Room venue and itâs the most magical space. Lush gardens, extremely manicured in every way, rain or shine Wickham excels. I was a very stressed bride due to the weather report showing my wedding day was going to be rained out( not what you want to see for an outdoor ceremony) the staff relaxed my stress and gave me so many options for plan B if needed. Luckily, the forecast changed and it was the most perfect weather day. Couldnât have pushed through that stress without the Wickham staff. All in all, perfect venue, amazing staff, I would chose them over and over again.

We got married at The Emerald Room at Wickham Park in September 2022 and had the BEST time! So many people told us that they loved the venue â itâs beautiful, quaint, and unique. The best part about this venue is that it offers a naturally beautiful backdrop for photos. We didnât require a ton of decorations because the venue itself is gorgeous without it and our guests were excited to take photos because there was so much beauty around them. The Emerald Room is an excellent choice between the two options at Wickham Park because it has a bridal suite and updated bathrooms. As the bride, I was very comfortable that day because of the option to go into the bridal suite for privacy when I needed to change, use the restroom, take a moment, etc. Tips for those considering getting married here â look into the pricing of the caterers youâre able to work with in advance of signing your contract at the venue. We probably would have still chosen Wickham Park, but we were surprised by the cost of the caterers after already signing with Wickham. Secondly, think about rain plans. We were so lucky that it didnât rain, but I was nervous about the weather because the rain plan wouldnât have been great if the weather was bad. Third, have your photographer take photos towards the back of the gardens or behind The Emerald Room. We took photos basically at the entrance of the park and had lots of family and friends show up early and saw us taking pictures before the ceremony â as a bride on the shy side, I just wasnât ready for an overflow of family in that moment. Lastly, get a firm understanding up front about what the venue staff are responsible for on the night of your wedding. I was under the impression that we would have no real help that day from the venue so I had a bunch of friends come early to help, but in reality the venue staff did a lot more for us than expected and it caused for some confusion with my friends. Overall, we loved getting married at Wickham Park and would absolutely recommend to any couple searching for a quaint, naturally beautiful venue to get married here. Thank you, Wickham Park team!

We can not say enough about Wickham Park as a wedding venue. Thanks to Covid, we had two wedding celebrations here and each time was magical. From our small intimate setting in the English Garden to our larger memorable party in The Cabin, Wickham Park left our guests and ourselves wishing each night would never end. This past year, Sarah Tilley helped our celebration really come together and it couldn't have been more perfect. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to make their wedding day even more special than it already is.

We got married here on 8/20/21. The venue was absolutely beautiful! The area for the ceremony and the gardens made for stunning photos. Sarah, the coordinator, made everything smooth and easy. It was very helpful meeting with her the week before to run through everything and the day of she was energetic and helpful! We got married here on 8/14/21 after having to reschedule due to covid. Sarah was absolutely amazing!!! She always answered all questions in a timely manner and helped us to make sure all of our needs were met throughout the day. And the venue was stunning and so so much fun. We loved having so many different areas for guests to explore during and before the wedding. We had the best wedding and got so many compliments! I would highly recommend using this venue. If we had to do it again, we wouldnât change a thing!

There were no issues day of and even when there were slight inconveniences they were there to step in and fix it as quickly as possible. There were no issues day of and even when there were slight inconveniences they were there to step in and fix it as quickly as possible. Our wedding was held at the Cabin at Hilltop Garden. The venue itself is breath-taking. It was the first venue we looked at, and the last. The gardens are so incredibly well-kept, and the tent and cabin were very clean. The ceremony space is stunning, with a view like no other! There was so much space for our guests to roam around, even with the periodic downpours! Sarah took over our event later in our planning period, but she was awesome and really went above and beyond. Sarah worked hard to make sure we had the most comfortable layout for our guests under the tent, and was there for anything we needed. She made sure to meet us in-person at our rehearsal, and even made it to our wedding, where she helped tremendously, watching the weather radar like a hawk to guarantee we would get to use the outdoor ceremony space, and she helped to get our giant bridal party down the aisle in an organized and presentable fashion! If you don't mind booking everything a-la-carte, we highly recommend Wickham Park! It was affordable, beautiful, and we are so happy it's where we chose to have our wedding.

My husband and I are so glad we found Wickham Park! When our first venue fell through I was panicked, but it ended up being a blessing because I found Wickham Park. It had everything I wanted and more. We were married at the Cabin in September and it was just magical. The view, the gardens, being able to set up lawn games, everything was perfect. When my then fiancĂŠe and I began planning our wedding one of the first things we decided was that we wanted to have it in a flower garden and we are so lucky to have found Wickham Park. It has several enchanting gardens, two wedding chapels and was just fifteen minutes from our apartment. We chose to have our ceremony at the cabin location which had the perfect garden for our cocktail hour, a tent-covered reception area, and to top it all of a beautiful little chapel overlooking downtown Hartford, were my now wife and I made our first home. Once we found Wickham Park we didnât even look at another venue. Not only was it exactly what we wanted, but being a nonprofit park it came in at less than a third of the next best location we looked into. We couldnât be happier with our decision and would recommend it to anyone.

We chose to have our ceremony at the cabin location which had the perfect garden for our cocktail hour, a tent-covered reception area, and to top it all of a beautiful little chapel overlooking downtown Hartford, were my now wife and I made our first home. Once we found Wickham Park we didnât even look at another venue. Not only was it exactly what we wanted, but being a nonprofit park it came in at less than a third of the next best location we looked into. We couldnât be happier with our decision and would recommend it to anyone.

Pamela and her staff were so kind and helpful from the time we found them to the end of our wedding! This review is for our wedding at Wickham Park at the end of May 2018. Specifically, we utilized the Emerald Room in the Irish Garden venue and worked with Pamela from start to finish. We canât speak highly enough about the venue and highly recommend it to anyone looking now. We visited a number of other venues, but came to choose Wickham Park for their pricing, accessibility for a wheelchair user, location relative to our guests, support of Pamela, and generally beautiful surroundings. We are an outdoorsy couple wanted to hold as much of our celebration outdoors as possible, but also wanted to have an indoor location included should the weather require it (it did!). The Emerald Room in the Irish Garden had the perfect balance of this for us.Although it was early in spring to be using the garden, Pamela promised and the staff delivered a beautiful setting that complimented the day. Unfortunately, rain started right as the ceremony began and we had to move inside, but were still able to accommodate our approximately 60 guests, catering staff with bar and hors d'oeuvre table, small band, and arbor for the ceremony comfortably. We had planned to have the ceremony at the outdoor gazebo, which has ample seating and then have the band playing in the garden (there were plenty of exterior outlets) as guests strolled around and enjoyed the garden and a bar set-up and hors d'oeuvres. Either way the space was great. The surrounding gardens were great for photos before the celebration started and they all turned out great against the plantings, trees, and pond within a short distance of the venue. We also snuck out when the rain let-up to take photos at the gazebo in the garden and really enjoyed how they came out.Pamela was amazing from start to finish. We are very detailed in our planning and Pamela spent a great deal of time responding thoughtfully to our high number of email and text questions and updates. From meeting with us at the Hartford Wedding Expo to a walk-through of the facility, Pamela was always great. Pamela shared lots of helpful information including floor plans to help us organize our thoughts. On the day of the wedding everything was just as we discussed and when we needed to shift things inside the staff member who was in the venue throughout the day helped make this seamless. The only negative was that it was a little loud with all our guests indoors while the band was playing and the doors were closed as a result of the rain. This couldnât really be avoided for us and we asked the band to play softer, which helped. Not a large problem and speaks highly if this is the only concern I can think of. Another positive note is that that parking was easy for our guests and we didnât hear about any issues finding the venue based on the signage and directions given by the rangers greeting all our guests at the entrance to the park.We received a very high level of care, professionalism, and support. We couldnât ask for anything more and would encourage others to consider this venue. We wouldnât change our choice to hold our wedding here. We held our wedding at the Emerald Room and Irish garden at Wickham Park on October 21st 2018. While initially we had wanted to use the Cabin location at the park, when we saw the Emerald Room and it's garden we were in love with it. We held a smaller wedding and this location was cute and much more intimate of a location. We are beyond pleased with the venue and our experience. Pamela, the event coordinator for the park was wonderful. Quick to respond with any and all questions and was great to work with. The Irish garden for our wedding was beautiful for the time of year. The only disappointing element was that the weather had been just a little too cold for guests to stroll through the garden for too long. But that is no fault of the venue of course, haha. Just a New England wedding thing. Overall, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone. Though in particular I think it is best for smaller, intimate weddings as the space is at a premium. Also, I think it is a great location for local couples because unlike traditional reception halls and the like, you can revisit the park and relive your memories with ease.

The Emerald Room and Irish Garden was absolutely perfect. The staff was so helpful during the planning process and the day of. We received so many complements from our guests on how beautiful the park was, even from locals that did not know the beauty that was next door to them. We ran into a problem of people just walking their strollers through our cocktail hour in the garden and the staff quickly reacted by putting up private event signs. All of our guests were so surprised that they have lived in the area their whole lives and had never been there! There was one downside that I have to mention...The day of our wedding there were a lot of \"outsiders\" lined up watching our ceremony and photos. I had been told the hilltop would be blocked off and it really wasn't. When we went to take photos we had to ask people to get out of the frame. It got old fast and there was nobody from the park to tell about this.

It's hard for me to begin this review because I can't find adequate words to describe how insanely gorgeous our wedding at Wickham Park was. We got married on June 30th at the Cabin Garden in a heat wave. The garden was spectacular and well-maintained, and the cabin and tent areas were immaculately clean. The view from the ceremony area at the cabin is breathtaking, and our guests could not stop gushing about how beautiful it was. The park staff were professional and very friendly. Pamela was extremely responsive and helpful, and worked with our other vendors to give us a stress-free wedding experience! Overall, Wickham Park (and especially the Cabin Garden) has the WOW factor that makes it the perfect place to get married. I can't stop thinking about my beautiful wedding. It was such a fairytale!

My wedding at the Cabin at Wickham Park was more than a dream come true. If you haven't seen it yet - please do yourself a favor and drive up there and just walk through that garden at the Cabin and see the view of Hartford. It is so magical. The entire wedding night everyone raved about how wonderful and unique the venue was. Think about how many weddings you have been to at a banquet hall - this venue will make you stand out from the rest for sure! I also liked that it is a blank canvas for your own decor style and you don't have to spend a ton on flowers because your guests will be surrounded by them already!Pam and her staff were also very helpful. I asked a lot of crazy questions and they never made me feel dumb. They had a lot of good recommendations on vendors, and they really do their best to make things easier for you - i.e. they let me set up all my decorations the night before at the rehearsal (since my wedding was on a Friday). That was such a relief! Also, they are dog friendly and there is nothing like having your furbaby be a part of the big day!Conclusion: picking this venue was the best decision ever (after agreeing to marry my husband of course!)

My daughter's wedding two weeks ago at the the cabin was wonderful. It is such a beautiful venue and the combination of the views, gardens and rustic elegance made it a magical night.Pamela was great to deal with. She considered each question thoughtfully before responding and enthusiatically embraced our ideas. She was also patient with last minute changes. Our cabin attendants were a pleasure to deal with and really were there to help. They ended up being more helpful than I had anticipated.The venue is gorgeous and as other reviewers have said the most often heard comments were \"What a beautiful spot\" and \"I didn't know this was here\".We had 160 adults who sat in the tent and five kids who ate outside on the picnic tables. I was concerned with seating 12 at a table but it was not cramped at all.We used one of their recommended caterers (Catering by Christine, see my review) which I think made a big difference. This was part of the Wickham Estate, the location they often entertained in, and there are a few logistics particular to this location.Having a beautiful day certainly helped but I visited the cabin several times during preparation and it was beautiful at all times, even in the rain.

We had our wedding at Wickham Park September 2017 using the cabin/tent space and the venue was perfect for the garden wedding we envisioned. The gardens at the park are absolutely beatiful, as is the ceremony space. Gorgeous view overlooking the Hartford skyline. There are also plenty of beautiful spaces for wedding photos. All of our guests commented on what a lovely space it was! The cabin where they have the bar and dancing also has a cozy and romantic feel to it with the large stone fireplace. Pamela, who we worked with up to the wedding day was also a pleasure to work with and always felt very helpful and accommodating. The park staff that were there on the day were very nice and helpful as well! Thank you to Wickham Park for helping make our day so special and beautiful! Would definitely recommend to other couples lookinh for a garden or rustic venue that's a setting outside of your typical catering hall. Also, even though a good portion of our wedding took place outside, they do have a sufficient back up plan in the event of bad weather.

The staff has always been wonderful, especially Pamela the event coordinator who made our experience as relaxed and easy as possible. The general consensus among our guests after the wedding was that it was truly one of the most beautiful and fun weddings they had ever been to. We strongly have Wickham to thank for that. The Log Cabin and its adjoining garden and white tent make for a beautiful and relaxed place to have a wedding. It was without a doubt the happiest day of our lives and we have some incredibly stunning pictures to remember it by. I would recommend Wickham Park to anyone.

I recently had my wedding at the new Emerald Room in the park and it was perfect. The venue is stunning and we received so many compliments from our guests. The stone walls, the fountain and the plantings surrounding the venue were gorgeous and made for great photos. We loved being able to have an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour and an indoor reception. Even though we always wanted an outdoor ceremony, having the option of the indoor reception space for the ceremony as a back up in case of rain was nice. The bridal suite in the Emerald Room was also a huge plus. It was nice to have a place to relax while guests were arriving. The staff at the park were also great. Pam was always quick to answer my (many) questions in the months leading up the wedding and was very accomdating. The ranger staff and venue attendant were all very helpful the day of our event. With the stress of wedding day and wanting everything to go smoothly, it was so nice to go into the day having full confidence in Wickham!

Amazing views, amazing pictures- even in the rain. Yes, I am the bride that had a torrential downpour the day of the wedding. That being said we had our ceremony in the cabin (standing room) and it was perfect. The rain stopped just as we said our I dos and the pictures of the overcast clearing are breathtaking. It's true most people complimented more on the venue than they did anything else! Pam, the coordinator was available but would sometimes take a day or two or need additional reminders to get back you which was my only qualm as I was planning from across the US and I couldn't be there in person. I also never saw the inside of the cabin or the inside of the tent before the day of and it was perfect! Don't let rain make you think your wedding is ruined..... it's still magical and perfect here!

Pam was very kind and helpful in answering all of my questions, and was very responsive. The day of the wedding, the cabin staff, was very helpful too (kudos to Dana for his extra help in the morning). I had a 100 person wedding and it felt like the perfect space for us. Options for photos at Wickham Park are endless.. no matter where you look the views, variety of gardens, and greenery are absolutely beautiful in every direction you look. We really enjoyed the fact that us and our guests could enjoy both the indoors and outdoors at this venue. Rather than being stuck in one spot inside like a typical wedding hall, we had so many options for enjoying the night.. dancing the night away in the cabin, smoking cigars in the garden, enjoying the sunset from the porch.. you name it. Wickham Park is the most amazing place to have your wedding. The setting was just spectacular and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. We had our wedding on Friday, May 26th and the weather was questionable but the back up plan was set to go in case we needed it. We didn't! While it was overcast, the view from the top of the hill near the cabin was still amazing. We were able to bring in all our decorations and had plenty of time to set up. Our caterer, recommended by Pam at Wickham, Bourassa Catering, was to die for. Excellent food and even better service. We had a very intimate wedding, under 40 people, but small or large, Wickham would be an excellent place to have your event.

Wickham Park is the most amazing place to have your wedding. The setting was just spectacular and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. We had our wedding on Friday, May 26th and the weather was questionable but the back up plan was set to go in case we needed it. We didn't! While it was overcast, the view from the top of the hill near the cabin was still amazing. We were able to bring in all our decorations and had plenty of time to set up. Our caterer, recommended by Pam at Wickham, Bourassa Catering, was to die for. Excellent food and even better service. We had a very intimate wedding, under 40 people, but small or large, Wickham would be an excellent place to have your event.

there is no place more beautiful for an outdoor wedding then wickham park. All the gardens are meticulously cared for. We were lucky enough to be married in the new Irish garden, with the wedding reception held in the new stunningly built emerald room, it was the perfect setting for us and our 95 guests. The staff at Wickham were more then wonderful taking care of everything we needed and the pride they take in careing for the place they work is very evident. We had a perfect day from start to finish!!

there is no place more beautiful for an outdoor wedding then wickham park. All the gardens are meticulously cared for. We were lucky enough to be married in the new Irish garden, with the wedding reception held in the new stunningly built emerald room, it was the perfect setting for us and our 95 guests. The staff at Wickham were more then wonderful taking care of everything we needed and the pride they take in careing for the place they work is very evident. We had a perfect day from start to finish!!

Wickham Park ...a very special wedding venue. Charming , surrounded by an amazing natural setting , allows you to create the perfect wedding reception. As the wedding planner for my neices wedding, I had great expectations and was not disappointed. On a sweet October evening this venue allowed for both indoor and outdoor areas to celebrate, dance and play. Everyone ... and I mean Everyone, at our event had a truly fantastic time. If not for the Park needing to close for the evening, I do beleive our guests would have stayed till dawn!A Big Thank you to Pam and Colleen and all the Rangers !!

We had a beautiful wedding at Wickham Pavilion, no thanks to the event coordinator. To list the number of issues we had communicating with Pamela over the past year would be absolutely ridiculous. Once the \"sale\" was made, little by little we found out that we were lied to and the park was misrepresented over and over. It would be one thing if Pamela were busy or spread thin, but she gave me the distinct impression that she just had no ounce of concern for our experience.The park is gorgeous, and even though in the end we had an amazing day, I would never recommend to anyone to get married there. It was a miserable frustration that came close to ruining our wedding day, which was hardly high maintenance. We had a conscious wedding--part of holding it at a non-profit park. If it weren't for the support of our amazing family and friends, we would have had to cancel or relocate last minute.I'm amazed that more reviews don't reflect the terrible service. Nearly every vendor we spoke with also said the park is difficult to deal with. Every other business we hired was a pleasure, so I know it's not us. We requested our guests donate to a charity (one where I work, the caterer we hired, our church, or their choice) as their gift, and half-way through the year I removed Wickham from that list. We were also planning on donating to each charity we worked with, but I can't in good faith support the park again.I can't imagine I'm the only bride that was treated this way, and I expect an apology to my guests more than anything. For anyone who has had this issue and not spoken up--you're doing a beautiful park a disservice by not alerting the director to this issue. I've never in my life had such a negative experience or worked with someone less professional.I wish to be connected with the director (I've requested before and been denied) so that I can recount the entire experience. It's truly a shame the park supports this type of practice, and I'll be telling everyone I know to warn their friends.I posted this review on facebook, as well, and haven't received a single communication besides the generic one they write on every post. We got married almost a month ago, and the park never contacted us with so much as a \"congrats, how was everything?\"Stay away from Wickham!

The amphitheater overlooking the skyline was the perfect place for our ceremony and the gardens are gorgeous. The amphitheater overlooking the skyline was the perfect place for our ceremony and the gardens are gorgeous. The park and staff were fantastic. It unfortunately rained during our event and they had plenty of backup places to hold the ceremony. The sides in the tent come down and there was heat in the tent which made it comfortable. I would highly recommend Tatsebuds catering. Food was delicious and they had a little bit of everything as far as alcohol. Chairs and tables were set up prior to our arrival that morning and we moved them around to our liking. Easy communication with Pamela. If I had to do it again (without the rain) I wouldn't hesitate to book Wickham Park!

we cannot say enough about Wickham park!It was absolutely amazing! There was one Garden we loved and we're set on, busy due to ceremony site changes we had to change the date of our wedding and the garden. My daughter and son-in-law were married at the Cabin Garden on a Saturday earlier this month. From our first visit we knew Wickham Park would be the right place, setting a natural and elegant tone as you enter by the gatehouse and are directed up the winding hill past several gardens, open spaces and a carriage house. We later learned that the park was originally the estate of Clarence and Edith Wickham with the grounds designed by Olmsted Associates. The location with the cabin, tent , gardens, gazebo and ampitheater with the Hartford skyline in the distance allowed guests to spread out and enjoy the wedding and reception including the 12 young children who attended. Pamela was very friendly and encouraging with coordinating the event and we used Ciao! Catering, one of the Park's preferred vendors. We have received many compliments on the wedding and its setting.

Despite the cold and rainy weather we had, it just didn't matter. I would have loved to see my daughter and son in law get married on the beautiful grounds but it was beautiful none the less. We had the reception in the cabin with the fireplace going and it was just so cozy ! Our photographer took advantage of the misty rain and took many photos outdoors with an umbrella which came out awesome (you don't get photos like that every day !)Pam was so helpful throughout all the planning and when we went there in the morning, the staff setting up were so accommodating and friendly! The night was just perfect :)

My husband and I held our wedding ceremony and reception in the Cabin Garden on July 12, 2015 and could not be happier with our choice! The park is an absolutely amazing setting for a wedding. So many of our guests commented that ours was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. The views and the gardens were just spectacular, and I loved that our guests had the option to stroll around the grounds rather than be confined to a typical banquet hall. Pam, the event coordinator, made planning the wedding so easy. She emailed us a reminder each time we had something due to her (headcount, # of tables needed, etc.) and she arranged to have the cabin available to us during our rehearsal so that we could practice our first dance. She even stayed to watch us practice and cheer us on. :) When we first booked the venue, Pam provided us with a list of Wickham Park's preferred vendors and we chose our DJ (AfterHours) and caterer (Tastebuds) from the list. Both vendors did a terrific job and were easy to work with. We did not run into a single issue coordinating the wedding because the vendors were already familiar with the set up and policies at Wickham Park. \rWe would highly recommend Wickham Park!

Words can't express how beautiful and stress free my wedding at Wickham was. The venue's natural beauty allows you the opportunity to not go overboard with decorations. My 'theme' was rustic with shabby chic touches; mason jars, chalk boards, paper straws, cupcakes, ect. The cabin at Wickham was the perfect location that suited our style and needs. We had our ceremony at the Amphitheater, just mason jars with wildflowers down the aisle for decor, and the reception at the cabin and adjacent tent. However, this would never have gone smoothly and stress free without the staff at Wickham. The Rangers were on site to assist with any questions/concerns the day of the wedding. Now, I don't want to play favorites, but hands down without a doubt, my favorite is Pamela Slocum, the event coordinator. She went above and beyond her job title and duties. We were in constant contact, via email and phone. She is a take charge kind of gal and even personally reached out to my vendors to finalize/confirm my orders. I was a little confused about the amount of tables I needed and for what, she talked it out with me and personally placed the order with my vendor. She called my vendors if they weren't returning my calls or if I was, yet again, confused about anything. Who does that??! She is a wonderful, supportive, easy going, graceful, delicate, professional lady whom made my wedding planning extremely stress free. She never, not once, became overwhelemed or irritated with my neediness. I would do my wedding over again, everyday, just because it truely was Perfect, but that would never have happened without Wickham Park. On a personal note, we love Pam, (Pamela), so much that we invited her to our dinner rehearsal, which took place at Wickham at the Williams Pavilion. She attended just as we were rehearsing the ceremony. We also invited her to our wedding. She had prior engagements, but came to the ceremony and came back later that night, and we tore it up on the dance floor. Another reason I love Wickham is that it is budget friendly. It is by far one of the lowest cost venues. However, the price tag does not reflect the assumed lack of professionalism and beauty that a low cost/ budget friendly venue may gain a reputation for. Wickham Park exceeds any expectations. So, this goes without saying, I HIGHLY recommend Wickham Park, the cabin package, as your future wedding venue. Words can't express how beautiful and stress free my wedding at Wickham was. The venue's natural beauty allows you the opportunity to not go overboard with decorations. My 'theme' was rustic with shabby chic touches; mason jars, chalk boards, paper straws, cupcakes, ect. The cabin at Wickham was the perfect location that suited our style and needs. My daughter was married there last weekend, and I have to say --- Wickham Park is a true gem! It's an absolutely beautiful location; between the ceremony area overlooking Hartford, the formal gardens, and the cabin and tent it's THE perfect spot for a wedding & reception. We had about 110 people, and there was plenty of room to spread out, yet it felt like just the right size to make it feel intimate and friendly, with plenty of room inside the tent for the DJ and non-stop dancing! The set up was so perfect we didn't even feel the need to add our own extra decor other than flowers on the tables and hanging baskets on the porch. Our guests have been raving about it for 3 days! It was the perfect wedding and reception....and I must mention -- a huge thanks to Pam, the event coordinator there --- great job guiding us through the whole process!

I had a fairly last minute wedding cancellation, but Pam was kind enough to let me use the deposit money to have a party, instead. And what a wonderful party, it was! All my guests commented how lovely the grounds are, and that the setup of the area was perfect. Highly recommended for a wedding or otherwise!

The staff were amazing, including the rangers who helped during our rainy rehearsal, and Pamela who guided us through every step of coordination right up to the day. Wickham Park is the perfect venue for any couple who wants their guests to enjoy a beautiful setting & the freedom to mingle. The Cabin & gardens were perfect in early May & our day ended with a magical double rainbow which was captured perfectly from the top of the park. Wickham Park far exceeded my hopes for an outdoor venue. The park itself is gorgeously landscaped with a breathtaking view of Hartford in the distance. It's a magical spot surrounded by natural beauty that needs quite little additional decoration. However, the staff was incredibly accomodating to us in terms of allowing us time to put our own touches on the space. Pam worked with our schedules and helped us get access to the park when we needed it prior to our booked slot, as it happened to not be in use at that time. She was lovely to work with in what can be a stressful time! \rI had searched for an outdoor venue for quite a while, but most were outside our price range or required an extra cost for a tent. Wickham Park not only provided access to a tent that fit 150 people but also a beautiful cabin with an elegant fireplace that was perfect for the bar and dance floor. I was absolutely amazed at the quality of this venue for such an affordable price. I am convinced there is nothing else like it in Connecticut and I cannot recommend it highly enough for a bride who is looking for a venue that is beautiful, comfortable, and affordable.\r

Any question, concern or problem I had the staff was very pleasant, cooperative and helpful. Whenever we wanted to take a trip up to show some family members or wedding party members the rangers and staff were very good at setting up a time to open up the cabin. In would recommend Wickham Park to any couple looking to get married (or any occasion really). Our day was truly perfect! Thank you Wickham Park!

My husband and I were recently married at Wickham Park. It was perfect and everything we dreamed it would be. We were lucky to have amazing weather, as our ceremony was outside and everyone commented on how beautiful the wedding was. It was truly majestic. Wickham Park is so very beautiful. Many of our guests said it was the prettiest and best wedding they have ever attended. We had the Cabin package and both the ceremony and reception on site. This was perfect for us and our guests. The guests were able to move right into the fun of the night and cocktails right after the ceremony without needing to drive somewhere new and we were able to move right into gorgeous pictures in the Gardens. The Tent, Cabin, and Garden provided a wonderful venue for people to mingle outside, sit inside, dance, etc., but be cohesive and connected at the same time. I cannot recommend this site enough for the most beautiful wedding. It was very romantic, yet relaxing and fun. In addition to the beautiful site, the staff is fantastic!! Pamela was so easy to work with professional, responsive, and so very sweet. The whole process of planning the event there was super easy and they were willing to work with us in any way.
