As a professional event planner, I hold high standards when it comes to rating venues. That being said, my experience at Wild Basin Lodge was nothing short of exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue, and I say this with utmost enthusiasm: run, don't walk, to Wild Basin Lodge.Nestled on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, this venue not only offers a breathtaking backdrop, but it also provides a tailored, private experience delivered by a top-notch team. When choosing a wedding venue, we had specific criteria in mind. We wanted a space that wouldn't be shared with another wedding and a team that could transform our vision into reality without breaking the bank. Moreover, we aimed to minimize the number of vendors we had to coordinate with, seeking a convenient one-stop-shop experience. Wild Basin Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we started planning, the Wild Basin Lodge team made the entire process seamless. Working with them was a dream, and they were genuinely committed to bringing our vision to life. I must give special recognition to Hawley Vining, whose professionalism and ease of communication were truly exceptional. Hawley served as our point of contact from start to finish, ensuring that our day unfolded just as we had envisioned. This consistency ensured that our vision was never lost in translation, a rare luxury in event planning. Hawley's presence from setup through dinner service on our wedding day further guaranteed that everything ran smoothly. Although we had an additional day-of wedding coordinator, it's worth noting that the Wild Basin Lodge team had the situation well under control. As a self-proclaimed type A personality with a propensity for handling everything myself, I was initially hesitant to delegate. However, the trust and confidence that Hawley and the Wild Basin Lodge team instilled in me made it easy to hand over all responsibilities on our wedding day. This level of trust is a rarity in my line of work, and it allowed me to enjoy a stress-free day.Now that our wedding day is a cherished memory, we couldn't be happier with our choice of Wild Basin Lodge and Hawley as our hosts. The day proceeded without a hitch, and the Lodge's stunning backdrop provided the backdrop for the most beautiful wedding photos. In fact, I wish I could relive our wedding day repeatedly, as it was nothing short of perfect. While our overall experience was outstanding, it wouldn't be a genuine review without offering some constructive feedback. Our only point of dissatisfaction pertained to the wine selection. While we certainly don't claim to be sommeliers, we do possess a reasonable knowledge of wine. We found that the quality of the wine offerings didn't quite align with the pricing included in our package, and the pricing for special requests was notably higher than the industry standard. However, it's worth noting that, in the grand scheme of the day, nobody at our wedding had any significant complaints about the wine selection. In conclusion, I couldn't recommend Wild Basin Lodge more wholeheartedly, and I sincerely hope that every couple has the opportunity to experience the same magical and memorable day that we did. Wild Basin Lodge was the perfect venue for our wedding! The setting is unmatched, and the staff that work there are the best. Emily, our coordinator was wonderful and was there throughout the planning process to help answer any questions and to keep things moving throughout our wedding day. Additionally, the venue does so much to help in the wedding planning process. They have a list of some of the best vendors you can choose from (all of which are amazing) and provide a checklist to help you stay on track with the planning. They even had great suggestions for things like places to stay and rehearsals dinners. All in all, you can’t go wrong picking Wild Basin for your wedding venue! Reviewed on 18-10-2023

We loved our fall wedding at WBL! The staff is very caring and willing to work with you in any way they can to make your dream wedding. We had a couple of miscommunications, and they were happy to accommodate. My only critique would be that, when we got married, it seemed like they were so busy that some little things were forgotten or overlooked. For the most part, they were great with all the big and little details, but I wish they had reached out to us a bit more the month before the wedding to confirm vendors and schedules. Otherwise, the views were phenomenal, all our guests raved about the food, and the staff are great at what they do. Reviewed on 17-10-2023

Hawley Vining and the team at Wild Basin Lodge were amazing. The stress and worry of planning and executing the wedding was made so much easier by Hawley. She walked us through step by step what we needed to get done and what were to expect day of the wedding, she set up calls with us and did in person meetings to make sure we were all ready and prepared so when the day came the only thing we had to worry about was doing our part day of the wedding. That doesn’t even begin to cover how beautiful the venue is. If you are like us and love the mountains there is no better to place to get married than in the meadow right under the mountains. We had wildflowers in the fields and beautiful views behind us. The venue is stunning of course but Jenn and Hawley really made the day special for us. They supported us through the whole planning process from finding vendors to setting our timeline. It was a perfect balance of giving us resources (most of what we needed for the day was included in the venue package) but also leaving room for flexibility if we wanted to do something different. We were looking for a slightly less traditional wedding ceremony and party that we could make feel like us--with the added benefit of working from a package. WBL delivered on this promise above and beyond. WBL offers a variety of packages that allow you to work from a list of their suggested vendors or find your own- they are truly flexible and eager to work with new vendors. With some exceptions you're locked into their food and bar-- don't hesitate--both were great! Plus, the food is consistently top-notch. The only reason I didn’t give them a full 5-star rating was because of the day-of-coordinator.My husband and I had Wild Basin booked almost 2 years prior to our wedding date. In that time, we went through 3 or 4 different day-of-coordinators. I’m not sure why WB is having trouble finding a good coordinator for this venue but when I say she wasn’t very good, I mean it. There was so many unorganized things on her end from not using the document I sent her for my bridal party entrance to having groomsmen/bridesmaids in the wrong spots at the wrong time. I believe by the time we got our deposit back from the wedding, they already had another new coordinator. The only other minor detail that went wrong for this venue was that the drinks we had made custom were definitely over-poured. Many of my guests complained about this. The upside to it was that Tod (owner) did sit down with us previously and hand-crafted signature cocktails for us at no extra charge. All in all, we loved our venue and wouldn’t have changed a thing. My recommendation is to definitely book this location but also hire a day-of-coordinator that understands what your vision is and prioritizes your wishes. Reviewed on 06-12-2021

Our guests raved about the amazing venue, and we loved that it was basically one-stop-shopping for everything we needed. The bridal suite for getting ready was fabulous and spacious for our wedding party, and the vendors that WBL recommended were excellent. Speaking of the staff, I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff is. This was a destination wedding for us, and we were primarily communicating virtually since all of our planning time was during the height of Covid. The staff could not be more helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating to our every need. Dawn, the event/venue coordinator, talked through every step with us along the way, and on the day of, she and her assistant made sure each step went without a hitch. Todd, front of house manager, is also a mixologist and created the most perfect signature cocktails for our guests and made sure the food came out promptly during dinner. Hats off to the chef because the food was amazing, and it was all prepared right there at the lodge without having to order through a separate caterer. There were tons of options to choose from for the food too if you are looking for something beyond your standard steak and chicken. They serve the food family style too, so your guests can sample a little bit of everything and don't have to commit to one meal option. The best part of it all, you get access to the whole property for you and your guests for the whole day. Staff are working for just you all day to make sure you have everything you need, and you can really enjoy this beautiful slice of nature in peace and quiet. If you are looking for the all inclusive experience with a stunning backdrop, look no further than Wild Basin Lodge. Reviewed on 06-08-2021
Janie Darone(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2021 We fell in love with Wild Basin on our first tour and are so glad we chose it for our venue! Todd, Dawn, and all of the staff were incredible to work with. We loved the opportunity to attend a tasting before the day and were so happy with our menu choices. They worked with us really closely re: weather and we were so happy with the outcome - our ceremony at the Meadow site was everything we could have wanted. Dawn and Todd made sure we were taken care of all night and were organized and professional. We also loved getting to use all the spaces - having our first dance on the River deck was really special! Finally, we loved the mirror photo booth and so did our guests. I can’t recommend Wild Basin enough and how much of a relief it is to have so many elements included (catering, bar, day of coordinating, etc). Reviewed on 29-07-2021
Haylee Wexler(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-08-2020 We only looked at two venues, and this was the first one and really the only one we needed to see. The whole Wild Basin Lodge team was so supportive, nice, and easy to work with throughout our whole wedding planning process. Olivia is so helpful and understanding, and really knows how to make wedding day visions become a reality. The whole venue is gorgeous whether you have an indoor or outdoor ceremony, and allows for so many personal touches for the reception as well. The food is incredible and the place really does encompass the \"all-inclusive\" venue you are paying for, and in my opinion so much more. I cannot say enough great things about the Wild Basin Lodge team and would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a beautiful backdrop while having an easy time planning an incredible event! Allison H(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2020 I must admit, I never write reviews but in this case, I couldn't help it. Wild Basin Lodge would get a 500 star review if I could. We were the covid couple who postponed our San Diego wedding not once but TWICE, finally gave up on that idea and last-minute decided to keep our postponed wedding date and find a place in our home state of CO to get married. We googled beautiful wedding venues and thought we'd have no chance to get married at a place as beautiful as this but again, covid, they had a last-minute opening on the very date we wanted just 3 weeks later and the planning began! From start to finish they made our entire experience so easy and dare I say, enjoyable?! Todd (showed us the venue, also the bar tender, also became a same-day planner and SO much more) was absolutely incredible to work with, not to mention he's a ton of fun and we hope to keep in touch! The rest of the team was also great and the owner's even showed up on our actual wedding day to help make sure everything went smoothly. From the venue itself to the decorations, the food, the photo booth, working with us on our \"vision\" and keeping covid safe, everything was so easy and the day was perfect. I couldn't recommend this venue or the people that made it possible more. Thank you Wild Basin Lodge!! Reviewed on 12-10-2020

Evelynn Guzman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-08-2020 My fiance and I have been in the process of planning our wedding for almost a year now and other than our first month of no wedding planning (not worrying about wedding planning and just soaking in the engagement bliss), the Wild Basin Lodge has been in every step of our planning! We booked the WBL to have our ideal, as stress-free as possible, epic mountain wedding. I say stress-free because from the moment we arrived at the venue in August 2020, they have made everything so easy! We didn’t actually have an appointment, but called ahead as we were shopping for other venues in the area that we had appointments for and they pretty much said “yeah come on by!” We parked, entered, and were immediately offered drinks from the bar and a personal tour. As we walked around the entire venue, beer and wine in hand, we fell in love. The process began very smoothly and to point out a few things that we loved the most: 1. The fact that they have a coordinator that helps all couples throughout the entire process. This was important to us especially because we didn’t have a wedding planner and this person would be our liaison to the venue. 2. The food and beverage comes with the venue and that’s been really easy for us to not have to outsource all of that and add even more vendors to our list. 3. Lastly (just to keep this someone short) we really loved the meadow site and the amazing view! Really everything was just perfect and everyone was so kind. For context, we visited four other venues before we found the Wild Basin Lodge and we never looked back!Fast-forward to March when the coronavirus pandemic began, we really believed that our stress-free wedding was not going to happen. This is when we realized just how amazing the WBL team truly is. With all of the regulations and restrictions mandated by the state, the WBL team kept us informed on everything as it would apply to our wedding. We were truly blessed to have Olivia as our coordinator because her communication is outstanding! We never felt as if we were in the dark or out of the know. Olivia and the rest of the team made sure that we were as comfortable as possible whether we decided to move forward or reschedule for a future date. This meant a lot to us especially after hearing some heart wrenching stories from our friends that were also getting married this year and their negative experiences with their selected wedding venues. Originally, we were required to have a 100 person minimum, but with the COVID situation preventing a lot of family and friends from out of state and out of the country to come, they lifted the 100 min. Requirement which is the biggest reason we decided to move forward with our original date. The WBL team has been there every step of the way and was more than willing to accommodate any changes or updates for us while maintaining compliant with CDC standards. Our wedding is in one week and if the actual wedding day goes anything like the year leading up to it, we will be ecstatic. Not saying we would recommend getting married during a pandemic, but if you choose to like we did, the Wild Basin Lodge is the place to do it! We can’t wait to get married at the Wild Basin Lodge and look forward to experiencing the most memorable day of our lives at this extraordinary venue with this amazing team. Reviewed on 19-08-2020

We were married here Oct. 2019 on a Sunday. I want to make it clear that we truly had an amazing wedding! However, if I am being honest, I think our wedding was beautiful because of us and our guests and not the venue. We booked this venue in Feb. 2019 specifically because of how beautiful the meadow site was and how incredibly warm/welcoming the manager, Denise, was. It felt like a dream! We were told the Saturday date we wanted was already booked, so we took the Sunday. Months after booking and not hearing any further information, we called only to find out that the venue had been sold. From then on we felt more like a contractual obligation rather than the hospitality we felt before. We were going to book the rooms in the lodge, but the prices increased, my husband spoke to Madison on the phone who was incredibly rude and a power trip constantly quoting the contract. The contract had actually changed from the original one we had signed under the old ownership, which was both confusing and frustrating.Over a month before our wedding date we saw that there was likely going to be a bad snowstorm on our date. Obviously, weather is not something that can be controlled and is just unfortunate. However, on our wedding weekend, we found out the Saturday wedding before ours must have got canceled. We never received notification of this. If we had been notified early enough, we may have been able to switch our date to Saturday, a day with near-perfect weather conditions. Or at the very least, we could have gotten our bridal party together for pictures on Saturday in the meadow. It was clearly documented that the meadow site was what we wanted and on our actual wedding day, they did not even bother to prepare the meadow site. They pressed us to make decisions on the morning of our wedding and offered minimal solutions, so we held the wedding inside. Also, the main staff left halfway through our wedding, basically after ushering everyone downstairs for the reception. The highlight of the venue was the food 100%. 5-star food, everyone was raving about it! However, the lack of communication, especially regarding the Saturday before our day getting canceled, us not getting to utilize the meadow site at all when we easily could have was very heartbreaking. This venue by no means went above and beyond for us but happily accepted our checks. Overall, we really felt unwanted, overlooked, and like a number on a spreadsheet. *if you take anything away from this review, just please note that basically all of the 5-star reviews were left under the old owner/management* Reviewed on 01-01-2020
Jeanine Stossmeister(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-03-2019 My husband and I got married at Wild Basin in March of 2019 and we had the most amazing white winter wedding! It decided to start snowing the night before the wedding, and with over a foot and a half of snow, we made the decision that we were still getting married outside! Denise and all of her staff were amazing and took such good care of us. The bridal suite downstairs was perfect and more than enough space for all the ladies in my wedding party. The bar and open space on the main level were perfect for guests to hang out before the wedding started and was wonderful for dancing and cake eating after dinner. This was the wedding of our dreams and we cannot say thank you enough to everyone at Wild Basin for taking such good care of us to make sure our day was perfect. The only negative I can say is that I wasn't hungry enough to really do justice to the amazing dinner that we were served. The food was so good and I wish I could have come back the next day to eat more! We were not able to come ahead of time to do the food tasting as we live in Texas, and Denise was right when she told us we could trust her that everything would taste fantastic. If you don't have the time, you don't need to taste it ahead of time...unless you just want to eat more amazing food! Reviewed on 09-11-2019

I received an e-mail back (for my multitude of questions) promptly, usually within a day. We loved the transparency of the inclusive billing with the upgrades clearly labeled and no pressure regarding the upgrades. If we wanted to include anything, they had a can do attitude to making our wedding extremely special. I cannot rave enough about how seamless our wedding day went with the help from Olivia, Denice, & Lisa. They truly care and go above and beyond to make your day go smoothly and perfect. Kyle May(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-08-2020 I always thought choosing a venue for my wedding was going to be a difficult decision, especially in Colorado where there are plenty of places that boast panoramic mountain views, creekside ceremony sites, or acres of private land with groves of Aspen trees. Not many venues on the list have ALL of that and a staff as amazing as Wild Basin Lodge. My Fiancé and I aren't due to get married until August 2020, but I already know our wedding day is going to be perfect! About a week ago, we toured Wild Basin Lodge and were blown away by everything we saw. The two ceremony sites, magnificent views of Copeland Mountain, and rustic vibe of the lodge were exactly what we were looking for, but what ultimately sold us was how well we were treated by the entire staff. Madison, who gave our tour (both sets of parents along for the ride), did an incredible job at making us all feel welcome. There wasn't a single time that we felt rushed. At Wild Basin, you are allowed to dream up your dream wedding day and the team will do everything in their power to make it happen. It's clear that no two weddings have ever been the same here. We toured one other venue later that day and as soon as it was over, we cancelled all of our other tours and decided on Wild Basin Lodge knowing that no one was going to compare. If the staff at Wild Basin takes so much pride in giving initial tours, I can only imagine the quality of service and support we will get throughout the process and on our actual wedding day. Robin Andronaco(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-06-2019 My husband Chris and I looked at a number of venues when we were engaged, and Denice at Wild Basin immediately stole our hearts with their extreme organization, personal devotion, and VERY full glasses of wine. Denice and her husband run this venue in exactly the way you’d expect two engineers with multiple advanced degrees to run any organization: the whole outfit is efficient, orderly, dependable, and precise while retaining the invaluable personal touch and loving attitude that we wanted when planning and experiencing one of the most important days of our lives. Our wedding was essentially picture-perfect from beginning to end, with mother nature providing us a beautiful two hour window of dry weather and misty clouds (made for lovely photos) during our ceremony on a rainy day (but not to worry; Olivia, our cool-headed and thoughtful coordinator, and Denice had about a dozen contingency plans for foul weather and were fully prepared to change one, some, or all aspects of the plan at a moment’s notice as the situation demanded). After hearing stories about our friends’ weddings with small things being overlooked, time tables falling apart, flowers getting ruined or guests not getting to eat, we were doubly grateful for the graceful and (though I’m sure appearances are deceptive, seemingly effortless) practiced art of time management, guest-herding, food service, vendor coordination, and staff communication. We were able to eat, drink, enjoy ourselves, dance, visit our guests, AND be fully present on the wonderful day we worked so hard to make possible. As I (the bride) was in charge of much of the planning, I particularly appreciated the instantaneous communication and responses from the lodge on any day of the week. The only time there was a lull was when they had another wedding and they were—as they were for us on our own wedding day!—fully devoted to that task. We truly felt like our wedding was their priority at all times, though they do more than 300 a year and ours was probably smaller than the average. We also stayed the night in the honeymoon suite at the Lodge, and while I’m certain having the full wedding party or family there in the available rooms would be great fun, we enjoyed the solitary splendor and mountain quiet after a wonderful but exhausting day—highly recommended. Though there were many individual efforts and personal choices that went into our wedding, we feel certain that WBL contributed substantially to the exclamation we received from just about every guest: “This is the BEST wedding we have EVER attended!” Reviewed on 23-07-2019

I was extremely excited about getting married here. The venue is beautiful and is set in the Rocky Mountains on the St. Vrain River. Christina was easy to work with. So let me just break it down for you and tell you where things went wrong. I’ll try to make this as short as possible. I’ll put everything into a timeline so it might seem like things I’m mentioning are pointless but they will all tie together in the end.First Visit - I told Christina that: 1. I was considering bringing in different chairs. I was told that was fine but their chairs were heavy and would need to be moved and we agreed on a $200 moving fee 2. I wanted everyone to sit at one table in the shape of a squared U. In a later phone call I was told the tables would total 50 feet because I was ordering a garland for the centerpiece. The Tasting - when I called to reserve a spot for the tasting I asked if another wedding had been scheduled the day before mine and was told no (I called on Monday and the tasting was on Saturday) because the lodge will allow you to decorate early if there isn’t a wedding the day before yours, which is a huge plus. I was told that the linens were included in the cost of everything. We were asked to update as much info as we could in our timeline. Up to this point all of my communication was with Christina who was busy during the tasting so Denice came to talk to us and walk us through some of our decisions. Denice didn’t seem to know anything about my wedding which was a little concerning because we were 1 out of 10 couples present. I get it, they have a lot of weddings there but if only 10 couples were going to show up to a tasting, I would think you would at least look at their paperwork and remember something especially since she thought we had rented out all floors of the lodge and we hadn’t . Then Denice informed me that they had a wedding the day before mine, which was weird since five days prior they didn’t. After a few days I turned in my timeline with 90% of it filled out.The month before - My little brother has a severe gluten allergy so I called the lodge to ask them what food could he eat that we had ordered. Neither Christina or Denice was around so the lady who answered the phone said “well most of our food is gluten free”. Nice to know but that doesn’t really answer the question. I called back the next week and left a message on voice mail. I was sent an email from Denice with the same answer as the lady had previously given me over the phone. I was then told that my wedding planner was going to have her work cut out for her moving the chairs. I was a little baffled by this statement because I didn’t have a wedding planner at the time I booked the venue so I know I would have never agreed to have her do the moving, and the venue was supposed to charge me a fee to move them. When I informed Denice of mine and Christina’s agreement with the chair moving, she seemed to get a little short with me.I was then sent an email from the venue saying that a lot of information was missing from my timeline but when I opened the timeline they sent, it was the one that was 90% filled out. Some of the information that they stated was missing in the email was clearly stated in the timeline. So this time I filled out everything but the final head count and meal numbers. I then sent the timeline back in an email with several questions, which were: 1. Please tell me what food that I have ordered is gluten free? 2. What time can we come in to start decorating? 3. Please provide the table layout so I can provide a seating chart.I was told that they received my timeline and it was currently updated and:1. Everything I ordered was gluten free but some of the crackers. The gluten free crackers would be marked.2. I could come in the day before to decorate3. A table layout was attachedI opened the “updated” timeline only to realize that it didn’t completely match what I had just sent them. I was then thrown off by the date that was given to decorate as I was previously told that day had been booked for a wedding. The table layout that Denice provided was 30’ longer than Christina and I had talked about, and what I had ordered flowers for. I called the lodge to figure out some of the discrepancies. Denice fixed the table issue and the told me that the date was correct to come in and decorate and acted like a wedding had never been booked on that date. Which was fine but we had already arranged our rehearsal and rehearsal lunch around that wedding and it didn’t make sense for us to drive all the way back to the lodge once we were back in Denver. When we received the final bill, we were charged for the linens and the charge for the honeymoon suite was higher then we were quoted. I didn’t say anything because total it was a $200 difference. The Rehearsal - I was met by a girl who I was told was my wedding ambassador. She then proceeded to run the rehearsal and didn’t let my planner do her job. She ran us through the ceremony one time and sent us on our way.The Wedding - we showed up in the morning with my wedding cake and we were told to take it downstairs by an older lady. When we did there was no one downstairs to help us out with where it needed to go. I walked back upstairs to ask if someone was coming to show us where to store it and she then said to bring it back upstairs. We proceeded to start decorating and would then stop to answer questions from the venue staff. I don’t mind being asked questions but one staff member was rude and the older lady couldn’t hear so I had to shout answers at her five times before she heard me. The venue staff was constantly confused about what they were and weren’t providing, which I didn’t understand because I sent detailed diagrams showing what I was bringing in. After 2:00pm, besides the servers and bartender, I saw no other workers from the lodge including management. We had to remove all of our items from the changing room by 4:15 pm in order for the cleaning crew to clean the room for tomorrow’s bride. We removed everything but the room was still dirty when the wedding wrapped up so I’m not sure why we were supposed to evacuate the room. Part of our package was that my husband and I were supposed to have private appetizers while my dress was being bustled. The bustle was pretty complicated and took about 25 minutes. We waited for 20 minutes after that and gave up on the private appetizers being delivered to us. We told the DJ to go ahead and announce us and as we were walking into the reception, our appetizers came out so we sent them away and joined our party. The gluten free crackers weren’t marked as promised. We never received the bread service (part of the package). Another part of our package was a late night snack in our room after the wedding was over and we never received that either. The next morning we got up at 5 and were leaving the lodge at 6am. My bag was super heavy and I was carrying other things so I just let me bag drag down the stairs. The bag started smacking the stairs on the way down so Denice ran out of her office and started screaming at me to stop what I was doing, that I was damaging the stairs and that they were $1,000 a stair to fix. I was a little taken aback. I just thought there was a better way to handle this then to scream at me. When my husband showed up to help with the bag she quickly changed her demeanor and tried to be pleasant to us.The last issue was the week of the wedding we had 9 guests cancel. The venue didn’t make those 9 meals and pocketed all of that money. $1,500 is a lot to keep for doing absolutely nothing. I understand if they had to buy the food but I felt like they should have provided some credit especially since they didn’t bother making it. I really wanted to love this place. They have a lot of great reviews but we were just treated poorly by everyone but Christina. I loved everything about my wedding but if I had to do it again, we would have chosen a different venue. It’s a beautiful place but honestly dealing with the staff (everyone but Christina) was frustrating. I know a lot of these things mentioned seemed small but it really put a damper on things and created unnecessary stress. I really hope everyone has amazing results with this place but our experience was pretty lackluster and if I can help another bride to not be treated the way I was, I hope this helps. If you're looking for a place that feels like a destination wedding (but is still fairly close to Denver), you cannot ask for a better location. Denise and Christina are fantastic; they make you feel like family from the moment you meet them. They were great at communicating in the months leading up to our wedding and had lists ready of vendors they had worked with in the past which made it easy to plan the other wedding details. They also have a list of cabins/vacation houses nearby (some walking distance) that we used to house our wedding party. The ceremony sites are stunning at any time of year (but especially in the fall with the aspens changing). Everyone loved the food and they have a very well-stocked bar. There is also a salon room downstairs where we were all able to get ready on the wedding day. Alyssa Brown(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-05-2018 Where do I even begin. My husband and I reserved the Wild Basin Lodge for our wedding and literally everything about it was PERFECT. We began by taking a tour of the property (the meadow wasn't accessible since it was January) and they answered every question we had and then some. They clearly laid out what services they offer, the cost details, and gave us a lot of helpful resources for nearby vendors who they've successfully worked with in the past. From that point, they answered every single email I sent, even the ones that were full of 30 questions. They recommended a nearby vendor who absolutely nailed the dinner reception. They consistently checked in to make sure the questions they had were answered and that they had all of the details they needed to make our day successful. The day before the wedding, we met up to do our rehearsal - this was the first wedding for a lot of my friends, so we were all pretty clueless about what needed to happen. The staff walked us through every single step of the ceremony and eased any and all concerns that we had. We knew exactly what to do and when to do it. On the actual wedding day, the staff was happy and helpful and really stepped in when anything needed to get done. I'm sure that I don't even know the half of what they were doing in the background. They asked for my input if a decision needed to be made, but otherwise left me free to get ready and enjoy my day while they helped get everything set up and ready to go.I really can't say enough how amazing and wonderful the staff is and how perfect my wedding day was. Their venue is absolutely beautiful. They have a mile of river on site, a meadow location for ceremonies, and beautiful rooms with plenty of room for dancing. The price was definitely one of the aspects that made us hesitant to book with them, but we decided that having all of the amenities, coordination, and food taken care of by the venue was worth the price. We went back twice for food tastings (and let’s be honest, a lovely getaway date)—the food is something I could rave about nonstop. Their in-house chef was truly, truly phenomenal. The second time we visited, we asked if he could incorporate green chile into our appetizers to try, and he made three different dishes that even impressed my New Mexico critic. He came out to greet us and ask how the food was, making sure we were happy, and taking a lot of pride in his work, which we appreciated. We chose the Colorado trout, steak, mashed potatoes, veggies, and salad—all of which were so amazing. We heard such great compliments from all of our guests too. On the actual day of the wedding, all of the details of our wedding were accommodated, and many were taken care of by Wild Basin staff, which I appreciated. If there were any major problems that day, I didn’t hear about them—Wild Basin was great at making everything seamless. Amanda Gaudreau-Balderrama(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-08-2016 General comments: We paid ballpark of $15k for 80 guests. We got married in late August and were very lucky that we had incredible weather. Several days before and after our wedding day were quite stormy. The pros: beautiful deck, beautiful scenery, nice facilities, \"all inclusive\" cost (sort of, but definitely easier than most venues). Planners were accommodating to special requests like us bringing in special snacks for the bar and treats for the guests. It’s cool that they offer yard games (for $80)! The cons: There’s no cell service and while wifi is available, it’s essentially nonfunctional. Despite being very responsive to e-mails, communication with the staff was at times difficult and often involved guessing what they are asking for. The upper management and planning staff were generally not attentive (no reminder e-mails about upcoming deadlines, no requests for details regarding things they supposedly need to know about, no checking in with you on the day of) and pretty rude (numerous examples leading up to and on the day of the wedding). This left a very negative impression on me and my husband as well as our families which was distracting the day of the wedding. General cleanliness of the hotel rooms and bridal prep room was questionable. For a hotel that does not offer onsite food, fridges in the rooms seems essential (which they do not have). Conclusion: Many aspects of working with them were not easy or pleasant. I didn’t feel valued and I certainly didn't feel like they wanted to make me happy (particularly on the day of). If this were a product, I might buy it again only because it’s high quality, but the customer service was horrendous. Reviewed on 01-09-2016

Every single person from start to finish was friendly, kind, helpful and were on top of every single detail! The food was amazing, (nearly every guest commented on it). And the venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. The wedding day coordinators were extraordinary! I have never experienced a group of people so truly dedicated to going above and beyond to make sure our special day was smooth, amazing, stress -free and flawless! From the major planning elements down to the tiniest detail, WBL made our day the best it could have possibly been! Reviewed on 04-08-2016
