My husband and I had our wedding there in mid-September, and we are so glad we chose the William Penn Inn. From the moment we booked the venue, we were paired with a coordinator who took care of everything we needed prior to our day. We met multiple times to ensure that everything was set, and she was always available to answer questions.On the actual day, we able to have our ceremony in the outdoor space. The garden is such a beautiful, quiet space for the ceremony, and we were thrilled we were able to take advantage it. The food at the reception was outstanding, from appetizers to the desserts. We heard nothing but amazing things from all of our guests!Everything throughout the day was also organized impeccably. From the moment we arrived through the end of the reception, everything was taken care of. The ceremony went smoothly, the staff was friendly and responsive during the reception, and they even had the flowers from the ceremony packed up and ready to take home by the end of the night.I encourage you to take a look at the William Penn Inn if you are even remotely interested - I promise you won't be disappointed!

A truly outstanding venue - my husband and I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about the William Penn Inn! Not only was it a gorgeous space to accommodate our guests - every detail was handled perfectly and professionally to make it our own! Darlene, our coordinator, was simply amazing. Darlene communicated with us consistently throughout the entire planning process - helping to answer any/all questions and providing clarification or suggestions when needed. Darlene provided the reassurance every couple wishes to hear during the stresses of planning a wedding! We have gotten such great feedback from our guests, especially in regards to the food. Excellent hors d'oeuvres and fantastic entrees. The William Penn Inn even provided a variety of other desserts in addition to the cake! The staff was kind, helpful, attentive, accommodating and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. The perfect wedding venue for our perfect day!

Our wedding at William Penn Inn was a dream come true! We got married in September of 2023 and worked primarily with Darlene. She is such a joy and has such a kind heart! We loved working with her and she became our friend throughout the whole planning process. She answered every question we had and was quick to respond. We had a wonderful meal tasting at the restaurant a few months before the big day. Our family was treated so well and we enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate the special time in our life. Our rehearsal was a fun experience and we enjoyed seeing our vision come to life. We look back on our wedding day so fondly. The timeline was perfect, the food was wonderful and the decor was exactly what we envisioned. We’ve received so many compliments from our guests and it is truly a testament to how special WPI is. Darlene and team are so talented and truly put us at ease. We can’t recommend the William Penn Inn enough! 🩷

William Penn Inn was the a spectacular place to have our wedding ceremony and reception. Darlene Schneider the wedding coordinator did an outstanding job with guiding us through the whole process of our wedding planning and made sure everything went smoothly on our special day. She is so friendly and was helpful in any aspects that we had questions with. The day of our wedding we were so impressed with all of the staff, they went above and beyond with their professionalism and hospitality. All of our guests raved about how delicious the food was!! 10/10 I would recommend the William Penn Inn to anyone looking for a venue. It was both fancy and yet very affordable! Out of all the options we explored, we are so happy we chose this venue. Everything turned out even better than I could have even imagined. We had a great wedding this month, all thanks to Cathy and Terri. Cathy has been very communicative and very helpful with the planning since day one. The venue was great and the guests love the food. Terri was very attentive and making sure whether there is anything that we need on the wedding day itself. The cake was delicious and it is included in the package which is a plus. My husband and I would love to come back here again if we decide to host an event in the future.

Our experience with William Penn Inn could not have been better! Cathy is so nice and detail oriented. She really knows what she is doing! From the moment we booked I never had a second thought if we made the right choice. I would make this decision over and over! The food is delicious (the mashed potatoes IYKYK) and they have a ton of options depending on restrictions. The food was so good we even had our rehearsal there too.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at the William Penn Inn with about 70 people and it was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff was great. We had an open bar for the 2 hour event, a plated salad and a dinner buffet. On the table were rolls and butter that were great. We had family members make speeches and there was a podium and microphone for that. It was a great event!

My husband and I got married here June 10th, 2022 and I wish we could go back and do it all over again. Darlene always answered my emails right away and never made my questions feel irrelevant. The big day was perfect and the staff is part of the reason why they day was so perfect. They went above and beyond and made the day run smooth. Words cannot explain how special our wedding day felt at the William Penn Inn! My husband and I felt well-taken care of since the first time we toured the venue. Darlene Schneider was an amazing coordinator. She took the time to ensure we had all that we needed and that everything was set for us. I appreciated how organized, calming, and in control she was. I knew she had our back if we needed anything throughout the whole experience and our wedding day!Our ceremony was beautiful in Penn's Garden. Food during cocktail hour and the reception was AMAZING! Hors d'oeuvres were prepared perfectly. Dinners came out hot, plated to perfection, and delicious! The banquet staff was professional and hospitable. They were always looking out for us and making sure our guests were happy!Thank you again to Darlene and the William Penn Inn team! I'll be recommending this venue over and over again to future brides and grooms!

Shane and I can never thank Darlene and the rest of the William Penn Inn team enough for making our wedding day absolutely a dream come true. Our original date was for September 2020 and with the pandemic we decided to postpone. WPI was on board with the date change and completely understanding. Darlene was great to work with throughout the planning process and the crazy questions I threw at her. She even helped me through some troubleshooting with other vendors when we postponed. The day of went really well and Darlene was there bright and early with us all the way through to cleaning the bridal suite during the ceremony. Her and Ally were truly amazing and are the best at making couples feel like guests at their own wedding. All of our guests were wowed by the whole evening from the food to the service that was provided. Everyone had an amazing time!Thank you thank you thank you all!

We can’t even begin to explain our wonderful experience that we had with the William Penn Inn and Darlene while planning our wedding. We started in March 2020 and Darlene kept contact with us throughout the entire pandemic. She gave us options when Pennsylvania changed their restrictions, and she always kept us in the know. In June 2021, our wedding was perfect! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how smooth everything went and how delicious the food was! We highly recommend the William Penn Inn and Darlene for your wedding. We had the perfect day!

Our experience with the William Penn Inn was truly amazing. We had to postpone our wedding from 2020 to 2021 due to covid and the team was so accommodating, allowing us to postpone without an issue, keeping us up to date with different covid requirements, and providing an incredibly personal level of support. Leading up to our wedding, the staff was organized, professional, and provided genuine advice when needed. Darlene, the head wedding coordinator is amazing and a true professional! The day of, every staff member was so personable and showed genuine excitement for us and our marriage, something I wasn’t expecting since they host so many weddings! The garden is kept in tip-top shape and the food was to die for. I cannot thank the team enough!

Our reception at the William Penn Inn was nothing short of amazing. We would select this venue over and over again. You will not be disappointed, in fact, all of your expectations will be exceeded. Darlene (one of the planners) is the best! Informative, thorough, detail-oriented, easy to work with, quick to respond, and most importantly – kind and patient with all of your questions and planning every detail of your day. David (day-of attendant to us at the reception) was so calm, collected, and very attentive towards us during the entire reception. We have received so many compliments from all of our guests about how absolutely delicious all of the food was - cocktail hour, dinner, dessert (everything!) To this day, we are still getting texts from people about how outstanding everything tasted. The night was perfect - everything we dreamed of and more. The food was outstanding, the service was top-notch, and both rooms are beautiful. The building has its own unique and special classic charm that no other venues come close to. We are so grateful that we selected such an impeccable place of business (which the William Penn Inn TRULY is, on so many levels). The entire banquet team is fantastic, they genuinely CARE about making your day so special, and we just feel very blessed. The night was spectacular for us and our guests. We could go on and on. Beautiful venue!! We had a day wedding and it was just perfect! The garden area was perfect for a summer wedding with beautiful background for pictures. The ballroom is simple and elegant! The food is amazing! Besides how beautiful the venue is the staff was extremely helpful! It was so nice to know that everything was taken care of on our special day. All we had to do was show up! We brought our own centerpieces and the event coordinator had it all placed on the tables perfectly!! This is an amazing venue and I cannot rave enough about how great our day was and how smooth everything went! Would definitely recommend!!

My husband and I are so thankful we chose the William Penn Inn for our wedding. They were amazing throughout the whole process, especially when we had to postpone due to COVID. Cathy was fantastic to work with during planning and was so easy to communicate with. Day of, we worked with Karen, who made sure my husband and I were taken care of the whole night. Our wedding day seemed to run flawlessly from our end. We did not need to set up or take down anything. Everything was taken care of by the WPI. We brought our own champagne glasses and cake knife, which were engraved with our names and the WPI made sure to clean them and have them ready for us to take at the end of the night. The food was AMAZING! We have received so many compliments about the food! Overall, the day was a dream and we could not be happier with our experience at the William Penn Inn!

Working with Kate and the floral team at the William Penn Inn (Flower Shoppe) was such a highlight of planning my 2020 microwedding. I am so grateful my wedding planner let me know that the William Penn Inn's floral team can also handle florals for outside events not held at the inn. Kate went above and beyond what her job description requires, even meeting me at my venue to survey the space to better put together a plan and quote for our wedding. We met again in person a month before the wedding, where Kate showed me samples of what my flowers would look like, including a bouquet, centerpieces and decor. I was truly blown away by the time and effort she put in before our wedding even happened to make sure the day itself would be beautiful. I was also impressed by the William Penn Inn Flower Shoppe's competitive pricing -- I did a lot of florist research before choosing Kate and her team, and while of course, their talent won me over, price played a big role too. I found the prices to be extremely fair, and Kate was happy to work within our set budget.When the pandemic changed our wedding plans, Kate jumped into action to create a smaller package that still helped bring my vision for the day to life. The day of the wedding Kate's team assembled our floral arch, greenery and candles flawlessly. My bouquet was beautiful, as were the flowers for other members of the bridal party.We can't wait to work with Kate and the William Penn Inn Flower Shoppe team again next year for our vow renewal and reception.

The WPI is honestly the best thing to happen to my COVID-19 wedding. When I tell you they did literally anything and everything to make my wedding dreams come true I mean it! They went from hosting my formal wedding to a customized Micro Wedding and worked tirelessly to make us happy. Darlene is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met and I am forever grateful for her. Kathy helped us run the show on wedding day and she truly hustled all day to make sure everything was perfect. We cannot thank the both of you and your entire team enough for everything that you have done for Joe and I. We will recommend WPKate, you are a floral Guru! You make the most stunning floral displays. I absolutely love my red roses bouquet. You knew exactly what style I wanted and captured it in every way. Honestly I have way too many great things to say about the team at the William Penn Inn. Between Darlene, Cathy, and Kate, we felt so taken care of through out our wedding planning process. What’s great about them is they have their own catering (with delicious food), bake shop, florist, and take care of your every need! I live out of state, and it was such a relief to know that things were being handled well. Special shoutout to Kate, their in-house Florist, for being incredible, supportive (not just with flowers) and bringing exactly what I want to reality. I really recommend them for your upcoming wedding. The Carriage ballroom is beautiful with the big chandelier. We love them!!

I went back and forth about writing this review for months. The venue is unbelievably beautiful. Kate, the florist did such an amazing job, I couldn’t have adored my flowers more. The rest of our experience was subpar, at best. Our tasting was a nightmare. I think we may have fallen through the cracks because we started with one coordinator who moved onto a new position, so we were assigned a new coordinator half way through planning. I never would have blinked an eye at the transition, except our new coordinator just never seemed to be on the same page as us. Our contract was sent to us 4 times, as we worked out the kinks- all 4 times I asked for Chardonnay to be changed to Pinot Grigio for the passing of wine during dinner. Each time I was reassured it was changed. I sat down at our head table to be presented with Chardonnay. We were discouraged multiple times to have an additional bar, even after explaining our 250 guest list & how much they love a good ol’ open bar. They closed BOTH bars for 30 minutes before the bridal party entrance, despite that never being stated in the contract. If you’re paying for a 5 hour open bar, you expect 5 hours, not 4.5 hours. I understand they were trying to urge people to sit, but they didn’t take into account how that would result in people crowding at the bar as soon as the only bar opened in the reception area? Almost seems like if we had the extra bar in the hallway like we asked for, it would have remedied the situation. My husband actually handed the bartender $100 to have him open the bar, because 5 different guests came up to us and told us the bar was closed. At the end of the night my father’s girl friend asked for cake to be wrapped up, (she wanted to make sure we had cake to freeze for our 1 year anniversary) and she was told no. “We don’t do that.” Thankfully, once my dad asked they provided him with the cake. Amazing what pull you have when you’re recognized as one of the people contributing to the bill. Most of all, I find it to be mind boggling that you work with a coordinator to plan your entire day & they aren’t present on your wedding day. Believe me, my wedding day was unforgettable & beautiful- I just wasn’t overly thrilled with the service through out the entire planning process. I felt like I was constantly being blown off. After reading all of the other reviews, I think I may have fallen through the cracks, but when it’s your wedding day & you’re spending the money you are, there shouldn’t be a crack to fall through.

We got married on January 4 at the William Penn Inn and it was the most amazing experience. When we got engaged, I knew I wanted a winter wedding, but wasn't too sure where. My mom made up a list of places to visit and as soon as I saw the winter decor at the William Penn Inn, I knew I HAD to get married there. It was easily the best decision we made because all of our guests are still talking about how beautiful and different the venue was. Cathy was our point of contact and was so responsive to my millions of emails. She had great suggestions for us. Kate in the floral department has such an infectious personality that made us excited about the flowers and decor for the day of. Liz was our day of coordinator and she was amazing. We were on time for our timeline the whole night -- it was amazing! As soon as we got there, we never had to worry about anything, which was the most amazing part of the whole night. We ended our wedding with the Philadelphia station and to say that was a hit is an understatement! Thank you to everyone at the William Penn Inn for making our wedding a truly remarkable night!

We had the best experience at the William Penn Inn for our wedding! From the initial meetings to the final, each and every employee went above and beyond for us. Darlene was so accommodating and took our vision and turned it into a reality. She spoke to us every step of the way (even the night before when we were unsure to have our cocktail hour inside or outdoor.) Kate from the flower dept. was amazing and is SO talented. Not only did she assist with the flowers but also with decorating the venue the day of. We still stay in touch with her to this day! All of the major items are included at this venue so you didn't have to lift a finger. Carin was our day of coordinator and made sure my husband and I ate and always had a filled drink. The venue is beautiful, food is incredible and the staff truly understands how special this day is for the bride and groom. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

Can't say enough good things about the William Penn Inn! While they may be on the pricier end of the \"affordable\" range for venues, everything is included - drinks, open bar, food, cake, etc - which was a huge relief for everyone involved because it was one less thing to worry about. Cathy and her staff were attentive, always reached out and responded via email in a timely fashion, and even checked in during the night of to get us (bride & groom) drinks and other requests. Our guests also remarked how delicious the food was (which is the ultimate reason why we chose this for our venue) and how beautiful the reception space was. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough about the William Penn Inn! They were fabulous to deal with! From every little detail to making me relaxed about my big day, they were just amazing from start to finish. My guests were raving about the food and overall experience at our wedding! And the best part is their pricing is very fair and reasonable and the value you get is tremendous. Darlene was my planner and she was AMAZING!! So detail oriented, kind and thorough. I didn’t have one ounce of worry. She was always very responsive to questions I had and so knowledgeable. I can’t say enough about how great she was. Kate in the floral department was equally amazing!!!! My flowers was stunning and people were literally fighting over taking the centerpieces home because of how beautiful she made them! The place looked like a dream and she met every part of the vision I had for my wedding day! Caryn and the entire staff the night of the wedding was superb. Super professional and fun! They were very accommodating to all of my guests. Caryn was so attentive to my husband and myself and made sure everything went smoothly! I know this review must sound too good to be true, but I can’t stress enough how amazing this entire experience was. The William Penn Inn is truly a first class wedding venue with a fantastic staff!! A perfect experience!

Where do I begin, the moment I stepped foot in the Penn's Garden at William Penn Inn last September I fell in love, I KNEW this was the place I had to get married. Unfortunately, my first visit I only could see the garden due to events going on, but I still knew this was the place. A few days later my fiance and mother loved William Penn Inn as much as I did. Everything was so reasonable, they definitely worked with our budget which was another selling point for us ontop of the venues beauty. Now the staff!!! Darlene joined the team mid planning for my wedding and she is absolutely amazing. She always had a prompt response from my emails and handled my overly organized planning with a smile, no matter how neurotic I got. Rehearsal night Sue was awesome, guided everyone and gave the directions. Day of the wedding while everyone was taking their seats in the garden Sue showed me our reception room and everything was perfect! The wait staff was so friendly, the day of the wedding they all made sure that my groom and myself were fed and had drinks in our hands. The food was amazing. My husband and I are looking forward to celebrating our anniversary every year. We cannot say enough great things about William Penn Inn. Seriously as you start your planning process go check it out, you wont regret it, I promise you!!!

My husband and I got married in late September (technically late summer but in my heart it's early fall), and we had the most beautiful ceremony and reception. Everyone at the Inn was so helpful and so easy to work with (particular thanks and kudos to Cathy, Darlene and Caryn, as well as Kate in the WPI Flower Shop), even when our guest numbers changed at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. I will never forget how perfect everything was. They made everything so easy for us, including letting us drop off our extras (ceremony sign, signature drink sign, sweetheart table decorations, etc.) early and then setting everything up for else. Plus, having the flower shop, bakery and restaurant in house was so convenient. I had the most beautiful flowers and cake, not to mention how delicious our cake and dinner was! I am getting hungry again just thinking about my crab cakes, wedding cake, and those caprese skewers at the cocktail hour. Plus, my guests LOVED the mac & cheese bar and crepe stand that we decided to get as add-ons. We could not have asked for a better night nor better weather. Of course, the William Penn Inn doesn't control the weather but they might as well have given how well everything all fit together. Thank you!!

We knew from past experiences that we were in good hands when we booked our wedding at the William Penn Inn but everyone really went above and beyond our expectations and we are so grateful! Our wedding day at the William Penn Inn was absolutely perfect, down to the smallest detail! We first met with Caryn when we got engaged and she did a wonderful job explaining the package and walking us through everything that was included. Our food tasting was probably our favorite part of the wedding planning process! The food was absolutely amazing. Cathy and Darlene were great in answering all of our questions during the entire wedding process. Kate did an absolutely amazing job with all of the flowers! All of the bridal bouquets and boutineers arrived at the house even earlier than we requested which immediately put us at ease. The bouquets and all of the centerpieces were absolutely breathtaking and were exactly what we envisioned! The bouquets looked stunning against the royal blue bridesmaid dresses and my wedding gown! We always pictured an outdoor wedding in the Penn’s Gardens and were temporarily disappointed when we chose to move it into the ballroom due to rainy weather; however, we had the opportunity to see the ballroom set up with all of the draping and flowers before the ceremony and it was absolutely perfect! The flowers and chandeliers made the room look so elegant. The bakery department did a phenomenal job on our wedding cake! It looked so beautiful and tasted amazing!!! The staff at William Penn is awesome! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating during the entire process. Our event manager, Robin, did a wonderful job at both the rehearsal dinner and wedding. She checked in with us often to make sure we had everything we needed and was just so pleasant to be around! Her staff was also wonderful. I know there was another event in the ballroom in the afternoon and it was a tight turnaround, especially since we moved the ceremony inside but they did such a great job and were so friendly and responsive to our guests. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives and we’re so happy that we chose the William Penn Inn for our venue!

Though she is no longer working at William Penn Inn, Monica really made this experience for us! She took us all the way to about a month from our wedding before stepping away to another opportunity. We missed her dearly, especially given that there were a few hiccups that we're pretty confident would not have happened had she been there (to include our cake being a bright teal-ish color rather than the steel blue it was meant to be).All in all, we had a beautiful day and the venue and food were fantastic!

To Kate and her team- thank you so very much for the beautiful flowers for our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding this past weekend! The arrangements were gorgeous! I can’t even tell you how many people asked me who the florist was. We really appreciate the detail they put into it and the customer service approach to their work. It is so beautiful that I never want to leave. Caryn and Cathy really helped to make the process seamless. Kate did our flowers and they also provided the cake as well. I didn't feel stressed at all when it came to planning with the William Penn Inn. On the day of they set everything up beautifully and it was the most perfect day. And of course the food is delicious!!

The William Penn Inn was an excellent choice for our wedding venue. We had both our ceremony and reception there and everything was absolutely perfect. Caryn was our contact up to and including the day of the wedding, and she was always very friendly, professional, and happy to answer any and all questions we had. On the day of the wedding, she checked in several times to make sure we were happy with everything. A huge plus of the William Penn Inn for us was that they have on-site floral and bake shops, so we didn't have to hire a separate florist and bakery. It really took the stress out of planning the wedding. Oh, and the food is really fantastic - we had many guests compliment us on that as well!

The William Penn Inn was everything and more. Their service leading up to the event was very helpful and filled with quick responses to any questions I had. Day of, they were spot on with everything. They even brought cocktail hour food to where we were having our photos taken because I was having trouble with the heat-just above and beyond. The food was amazing, the cake was beautiful, the room was just perfect. I’m almost running out of adjectives to describe how happy this place made me! All in all, this was the biggest party we’ll every throw and with the WPI’s help I would say it was damn near perfect. Thank you WPI for everything!!

We got married at William Penn Inn last weekend and it was fantastic. The staff made the whole process seamless from when we booked the venue in January until the wedding in July. They were prompt on responding to questions and they have so many weddings there, they have it down to a science. While we were in the planning process, our wedding coordinator needed to switch us to another coordinator and it was very easy and no detail was lost in the transition. The day of the wedding, they were great at organizing everything, but also staying \"behind the scenes\". The wait staff/bartenders/coordinators were all great. Also, the food is fantastic. The guests were raving about the beautiful venue and how the food was delicious! They truly know how to throw a fun party, and I'd recommend them to any of my friends or family!The William Penn Inn Floral Shoppe is also a great addition to the services they offer at William Penn Inn. It's an in-house florist who is fantastic! Kate really listens to what you want and after showing her a few photos from Pinterest, she made up a mock bouquet and centerpiece to show what she had envisioned for the day. I gave a little feedback for a few different flowers and on the wedding day, the flowers were perfect. She was a true professional and knows how to work with people who have an idea and turn it into a reality. She was always super responsive and updated the contract whenever I made changes so I could see how adding 4 flower girls' baskets changed the total amount due :) So grateful for Kate and everything she did. I highly recommend using William Penn Inn Floral Shoppe if you are getting married at WPI or even another venue. She's fantastic!

We got married on June 8th and I have nothing but amazing things to say about The William Penn Inn and the entire staff who helped in planning and having our wedding! From the very beginning the staff worked with us in making sure we had all of the information and details on what our big day would be like. We worked with Caryn and she seriously was the best! She always checked in on us and made sure she answered all of our questions. I can’t stress enough how easy it was working with her and the entire staff, they truly have everything planned down to the very end and even our guests raved about how on top of everything they were during the wedding! All of the staff really did amazing the day of, we had several compliments about the bartenders and wait staff and we definitely noticed how hard they were working to make sure everything was going smoothly. We never had to worry about anything and that was such a relief. It was really nice to drop off all of my stuff a couple days before so I didn’t have to worry about it. Everything was set up perfectly the day of and it was so nice that they broke everything down when it was done. We worked with Kate for our flowers and she was amazing! I had an idea of what I wanted but she really made it come alive! She was such a pleasure to work with, very helpful and worked with me on questions I had. She was very accommodating with some additions I added too and the flowers were absolutely gorgeous!! Im usually not a flower person but I was obsessed with my bouquet!! It was truly a pleasure working with Caryn, Kate and the whole staff at the William Penn Inn. My wedding day was was absolutely perfect and I am so happy we decided on the William Penn Inn, I honestly couldn’t imagine anywhere else! I would recommend this venue over and over again!

The William Penn Inn made my wedding SO much easier and less stressful to plan than I had imagined. I can’t stress enough how happy I am to have used them as my ceremony venue, reception venue, cake baker, and florist. Caryn was so helpful throughout the whole process and we got to work with her from when we booked up to the wedding day! I had a million questions and requests and Caryn was always super helpful and responsive with everything. When it came to the actual day, she ran everything so smoothly I was shocked at how little I had to worry about. Kate and the floral team did an amazing job with all of our flowers and she was so kind during the whole process as well. The cake was exactly what I had envisioned and was also the most delicious wedding cake I’ve ever had. If you’re debating on whether or not to book them, you should definitely go for it and you will not be disappointed. Their prices are also very fair in comparison to other venues. All in all, the William Penn Inn made our wedding so amazing and unforgettable!!

As soon as I got engaged, I knew that I wanted a historic venue for the wedding. I've been going to the William Penn Inn for various special dinners over the years with family, so I already knew that the building is beautiful and the food is fantastic. So they were on our short-list to visit ASAP.We met with Caryn, who went over the packages and we quickly learned how much of a one-stop-shop they are: in-house catering, baking, and florist! They offer indoor and outdoor ceremonies and have large and small rooms to accommodate any size event. My husband's family is huge, so we knew we'd need the entire ballroom and so we booked both the Surrey and the Carriage Ballrooms. I'm also extremely anxious, and did not want to worry about the weather for an entire year, so we decided up front to do the ceremony indoors. The indoor ceremony in the Carriage Ballroom can take place in front of the stage or the fireplace; we opted for the fireplace, because it's been recently renovated and is absolutely gorgeous.They have the planning down to a science and will contact you when the time comes for specific decisions to keep you on track. While our main contact was Caryn, we also worked with Shelley and Monica for various planning things, and Robin was our day-of coordinator. Everyone we dealt with was very nice and knowledgeable about our event so they could help us at the drop of a hat. On the day of, Robin had everything running like clockwork, which made it so much easier for us to relax and actually enjoy the day.Kate is the florist on site, and she was wonderful to work with. I brought a handful of pictures and a vague description of what I wanted, and she turned that small bit of information into perfect floral arrangements. All I said was that I liked shorter and wider centerpieces (as a short person, I value being able to see people across the table!) and organic shapes. When we came to the trial appointment, I had no changes, she'd nailed the vision I had in mind! And when the day of the wedding got closer, she even checked in because the flowers she intended to use to achieve our color scheme seemed to be showing a little off and she wanted to make sure we'd be happy with the color.And of course the food. Oh my goodness the food is incredible. We went with the lobster & crab imperial salmon, the chicken francaise, and the braised boneless beef short ribs. Everyone we spoke to commented on how the food at our wedding was the best they'd ever had.I really can't recommend the William Penn Inn enough, it was the perfect venue for our absolutely perfect wedding.

Absolutely gorgeous flowers coordinated so professionally and pleasantly with Kate. Tables, decorations etc were arranged exactly as intended in our meetings and communications with Monica. Day of coordinator Karen was professional and attentive. The garden and reception rooms were beautiful and the food delicious and hot. I am so happy my daughter and her husband chose WIlliam Penn Inn!

We chose the William Penn Inn (WPI) for its excellent reputation and past interaction with other banquets. The initial planning of the wedding went well and many extras were included. When the wedding day came, the trouble started. The florist had difficulty delivering the flowers since he was given a small window of time to deliver. This seemed odd since WPI has its own florist with their own refrigerators. The table flowers needed to be reworked 30 minutes before the ceremony since they were the wrong color and the wrong vase. The bartender was not very engaging and had a frosty personality. WPI has a rule that guests can only be served one drink at a time, so a person could not get drinks for a spouse or the groom or for a table. This is the first time we ever encountered such a rule. When a guest asked for a new napkin, a server provided a soiled one from another table.The coordinator and servers seemed hurried and inattentive. The dinner was served OK but after there were unbused tables and trays after the meal. There was a larger wedding next store. It is unknown whether the servers were supporting the other wedding also. The coordinator, at one point, complained to the bride that people were changing their orders. She did this numerous times. This information should have been provided to parents or some other contact. There were many other issues that could not be detailed here.We cannot recommend WPI after our event. These issues were brought to the attention of the WPI management. As far as we know nothing was done. There was no attempt to reconcile the complaints.

Everyone we worked with was an expert that assisted us to achieve the perfect special day. For the moments where I really found myself nervous or not having answers, the team at William Penn Inn helped us make decisions that were beautifully aligned with our needs and vision. Kate, the florist, took my ideas and actualized them into classy and exquisite arrangements. Monica, the event specialist, helped us put all the right details in place to ensure everything came together beautifully, and Robin, our day-of coordinator, ensured seamless execution.Everything was perfect!! All of our guests raved about the food, the flowers, and the beautiful historic setting. We highly recommend this venue for your wedding, or any big event you may have coming up. Word of advice, this place is very much in demand, so book quickly!!

The William Penn Inn was an amazing venue for our wedding! The coordinators are extremely helpful in giving you a helpful timeline in order to get everything done. The venue couldn't be more beautiful and they are definitely flexible and available to answer any questions. They are very organized and definitely experienced. The food is also great! Also a big shout out to Kate the florist - she was absolutely WONDERFUL! My complaints are minor - our contract stated we needed corona light for the groom's mother and during the reception there was no corona light. The end of the night felt rushed - it felt like we had 15 minutes to get all of our decor out of the room. A child's entree was never brought out. And we forgot a pen for the guest book and they wouldn't even supply us with one, my photographer's wife had to lend me a pen.Otherwise, a great venue and experience!

We ended up having to have our ceremony inside due to heavy rain, but the ceremony was still beautiful. We got so many compliments about the whole thing from start to finish.Monica was our coordinator and helped me through every single step and question I had. She was always so friendly, supportive, and helpful. She is a big part of what made my experience wedding planning so much fun (instead of stressful)! Robin helped us on the big day and made sure everything was carried out the way we had planned.Also, Kate at the flower shoppe was phenomenal too. I was so happy with my bouquet that she created, as well as our table centerpieces. She went above and beyond for us all along the way. If you’re looking for a florist with a great personality and the perfect eye for detailed touches, she’s the one.Would definitely recommend overall!

My husband and I got married at the William Penn Inn on November 10, 2018. I could not have been more pleased with how our day went. It was so perfect and I wish I could re-live it over and over again!The first time we went to see the venue, a woman named Shelley completely stole the show (she has since retired). She really knew how to sell the WPI to us. Their wedding package includes SO much: dinner, top-shelf open bar, centerpieces, the cake and we were comped the ceremony charge since we got married indoors.Ceremony: beautifully intimate. The lighting is perfect and we got married in front of the fire place in the Carriage Room. Super romantic.Cocktail hour: An impressive menu to choose from. My husband and I had a difficult time choosing what to serve because there were so many good options (also a perk: they had a plate of the cocktail hour food waiting at our table for us in the reception hall since they expect the bride and groom to be so busy during cocktail hour!)Reception: Dinner was unbelievable. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was! The top shelf open bar also has guests super pumped. They also include a champagne toast for everyone, which I loved. Wine service is also offered table-to-table during dinner. The dance floor was awesome and so much fun during our reception.Flowers: Kate is AMAZING. I was living out of town for most of my wedding planning. She was so responsive via email and came up with some really creative ideas for flowers. Our wedding photos look that much better with her stunning arrangements. You are not required to purchase wedding day flowers from WPI's flower shoppe but I highly recommend that you do. Kate's prices were far better than outside shops (yes, I checked. You gotta shop around!) and Kate's personality and professionalism cannot be beat.Cake: Baked on premises at the WPI. So delicious (and I don't even usually like cake). It was stunning and simply decorated but was so beautiful that I will always remember it. They inform you that you can be as simple or as decadent as you would like when designing your wedding cake.Before the big day: The tasting was SUPERB. It is a complimentary tasting for 6 (both sets of parents could come and they loved it!) Shelley is no longer with WPI, but an excellent and super friendly woman named Monica is there! She is incredibly responsive to emails/phone calls. I was not a super crazy bride but definitely very particular and Monica was always super sweet to me.On the big day: Our day-of coordinator was Robin. She was AWESOME. She just literally thought of everything. We met her at the rehearsal and then she spent the evening with us during our wedding. She made sure that everyone was where they were supposed to be and that everything went off without a hitch. She was essential to the success of the day.After the big day: We were given a free room to stay at the inn the night of our wedding. It was SO nice to just walk upstairs after. We were SO tired and that just made it so much easier. They also offer free brunch to the newlyweds if you spend the night at the inn. These people have really thought of everything!I cannot say enough good things about the William Penn Inn. I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. They allowed us to have the wedding day of our dreams!

Caryn Allen was my go-to for every single need or question. She responded quickly and made everything so simple and clear. The entire staff at the William Penn Inn is professional, kind, and dedicated to making their events perfect! Booking the William Penn Inn for our wedding day was one of the best decisions my husband and I made! From our first meeting with Monica, her and the entire staff made everything so easy for us. It’s clear that they know what they are doing with large events, as they were able to answer all of our questions and requests (almost always with “Sure, no problem!”) And that they thought and planned for things that weren’t even on our radar.We live about 2 hours away so when looking for a venue we were hoping for a “one stop shop” and the William Penn Inn exceeded our expectations. Monica (the banquet manager) and Kate (the florist) made it so easy to set up and coordinate appointments and they were always responsive to our emails. Both ladies really listened to what we were looking for on our wedding day and worked towards making sure it was exactly what we wanted.Kate was an amazing florist to work with. As someone that can’t tell a flower from a weed she walked us through the process and created gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces for our wedding day. Monica guided us through the entire planning process and answered every question promptly and with a smile.The day of our wedding could not have gone any smoother. Our day of coordinator Karen was fabulous and made sure that everything was taken care of. My husband and I literally had no stress and were able to enjoy every second of our reception. I was expecting to have some element of running around/ tracking people down/ coordinating vendors but I didn’t experience any of that. I truly got to be a guest at my wedding and spend as much time as I wanted on the dance floor! Besides the second to none service, the food was amazing! We got so many compliments from our guests on how good everything tasted. Without a doubt we would recommend the William Penn Inn to anyone looking to have a wedding in the Philly suburbs. The staff is incredible and I really can’t emphasize enough how easy it is to plan an event with them. My husband and I had the perfect wedding day thanks to them!

When my now husband and I chose to have our ceremony and wedding at the William Penn Inn we had no idea how much it would exceed our expectations. We had around 115 people attend our wedding. I will start with the outside garden where they hold the ceremony. It is a well-kept spacious garden that looks amazing in pictures. Throughout the planning of our wedding we would have to stop by the venue for meetings and what not and every time we would sneak a peek at the garden area it looked amazing (saw it during winter, spring and our wedding was in the fall). There are also a handful of places in the garden for pictures too. It was very pretty! Then the happy hour took place in the main reception area (and guests could hang out in the hall where there are addition seating and such). I was worried about there being lines at the bar since there were only one, but the bartenders are wonderful and the whole night I did not see the line exceed three people. They had staff bring out hot hors d'oeuvres while the cold hors d'oeuvres (cheeses and such) were in a large table in the middle of the dance floor. Right before the reception everything was cleared. They wasted no time serving dinner at the beginning of the reception and everything was so delicious! Our cake and assorted desserts were also amazing. We opted to get the Philadelphia Station at the end of the night. No one left hungry. Also, I just wanted to throw this part in, I gave a box of decorations that I didn’t know what to do with and the staff there (wish I had specific names) went with it and used it as they felt, and it looked WAY better than anything I could have thought of. The event specialist, Monica Ganter, was our main contact and worked with us throughout the entire process. I have no idea what I would have done without her! Monica is so nice and helpful. She would always respond to my emails within a day (and I emailed A LOT) and worked around our schedule for in office meetings. Monica was so awesome to work with and made us feel confident that we were on the right track. The florist, Kate Marshall, was also so great to work with! She is so talented, and our centerpieces, bouquets and other flower décor were fabulous. One of my guests must have (hopefully) accidentally took my bouquet home and I loved it so much that I had to order another, so I could dry it out and save it. We also had a day of coordinator, Collin. He made the day go so smoothly. He would round up the party when we needed to do introductions and find my husband and I when it was time to cut the cake and for the bouquet toss. If we needed anything, he was the go-to man and he would get it done. Him and the staff also brought in our outside decorations and brought it inside. At the end of the night things could not have gone any better and this was just the best venue with the best food run by the best staff.

We had the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception held at the gorgeous William Penn Inn on Friday, December 15th, 2017. The service was absolutely impeccable. Shelly worked with us to coordinate our special day. Menu and cake tasting were spectacular and got us so excited for our wedding day. The picturesque scenery and background of William Penn Inn turned our day and wedding pictures into something that looked straight out of a fairtytale. The grounds were beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and decor. We received so many compliments on the food served at our wedding. Caryn was who I worked with explaining my Dream come true fairy tale wedding wishes, and she made every single wish come true that day! Kate was the floral specialist who also created the most beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets to help tie our whole fairy tale together! There was not one negative point from picking the venue to planning to the actual day. I married my soulmate in the greatest place imaginable and thank you could never be enough for the people and staff who made our wedding Amazing!

Without exaggeration, the William Penn Inn helped make our wedding reception better than we could’ve ever imagined. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly helpful, friendly & professional. There are a few people who deserve a special shoutout including Daniel, the server for our head table. The florist, Kate Marshall helped guide us to pick beautiful flowers for the bouquets, boutonnières, and table decor. It is apparent that she is an expert in her field and helped keep us in budget as well. Robin, the coordinator who ran the show at our reception was excellent and anticipated our needs that we did not even know we had. She was genuine, personable and qualified. Lastly, we cannot say enough about Monica Ganter who was there for us from the very beginning and then every step of the way. Meeting her when we toured the beautiful historic venue solidified our decision and we couldn’t be happier. She helped guide us to have a reception that was the best celebration of our new marriage with family and friends. We received endless compliments of the food, decorations and overall charming venue. Also, make sure you go to the Sunday brunch afterwards for more delicious food than you can eat. Christian, our server, made us feel like really special guests. You will truly not regret choosing this venue for your wedding.

The staff, (particularly our planner Caryn) made sure our day was stress free, and exactly to our liking - she loves what she does, and it shows. Her concern for our happiness throughout the entire process, made us feel like family, and not just anther wedding booked at their Inn. AMAZING VENUE! We worked with Monica, Kate, and Robin at the William Penn Inn for our flawless wedding ceremony and reception. It was such an incredibly perfect day. Even though I had planned on an outdoor ceremony in October, I was really hesitant the morning of, as the temperature at 6PM was expected to be 55 degrees. Monica guided me through everything, and suggested we keep it outside. BEST DECISION EVER. She was so organized and helped us to make all of the best decisions possible.Kate was an incredible florist. She made so many special accommodations for us! She even made adjustments to my bouquet the day of the wedding, and redelivered it to my parents house! Robin was a huge help during the rehearsal and the entire wedding day. She even helped my 75 year old aunt squeeze into and zip up her gown! If you have come across the William Penn Inn during your venue search, look no further. This is the best place to celebrate your new marriage!

William penn inn was amazing for the day of the reception and very organized leading up to it. The food was amazing and everything was decorated perfectly. They worked with us when we switched venues and comped us the freebies the other venue offered us. They offer a honeymoon overnight suite with the package. Robin was a great day of coordinator! They were flexible with letting you bring in your own decor. The only things I think would be beneficial to know as bride is bridal suite opens two hours prior so hair and makeup would need to be done else where which requires transporting with everything from one hotel to WP. Also, the time schedule was very strict compared to that of my photographers, but luckily my photographer was able to speed through pictures to keep us on WP inn schedule. Lastly, we did not use their florist and because of this when I asked to have florals moved inside after ceremony it would be an extra “fee.” Fortunately, on the day of my coordinator had them moved inside anyway. For the ceremony you must make the decision on an inside or outside the night before wedding. If you change your mind the next day because of rain you pay a 500.00 change of set up fee because set up is so early. Besides these small things I felt overall the wedding and William penn inn was amazing!

Growing up in this area, I always loved the beautiful lights of the William Penn Inn and its surrounding landscape. I remember thinking to myself how amazing it must be to get married there. Well on June 1st, 2018, my dream of being a William Penn bride came true. My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams and we could not be happier. To this day, we are both still in shock on how fantastic every aspect truly was. We chose the William Penn Inn because of its all-inclusive catering, bakery, flower department, and day of coordinator. From the beginning, it was extremely easy to work with their banquet department (specifically Caryn), as she responded quickly to my numerous phone calls and emails and would meet with us whenever we needed. Her professionalism and attentiveness was apparent throughout the entire process. We found the same treatment when dealing with the flower department (specifically Kate). She had such creative and beautiful ideas all which we saw come to life on June 1st. The William Penn Inn was created into the most elegant venue on the day of our wedding. The flowers were stunning for the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception hall. There ceremony décor was gorgeous! My guests enjoyed a bottle of water too as they entered, which on a hot June day was greatly appreciated. As the ceremony ended and guests headed indoors to the cocktail hour, servers met my guests outside with appetizers to start snacking on as they proceeded indoors for more food and drinks. There was so much food during the cocktail hour (served and buffet, cold and hot). It was awesome! Great way to start the night! As the night went on, I remember walking into my reception hall before all the guests were allowed in and just standing there in awe of how beautiful it truly was. The food was absolutely fantastic, our cake was gorgeous, and the open bar was clearly enjoyed by everyone. Our day of coordinator (Colin) with help from others (namely Caryn and Kate), ran our wedding so smoothly and they kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything. My husband and I, our parents, our bridal party, and our guests took care of nothing. We just enjoyed the night to the fullest. I will forever be grateful to the William Penn Inn and its staff. I know so many people had a hand in making our day so very special and we will never be able to thank you all in person, but please know that every day I think about our wedding and every day it puts a smile on my face. We truly did have the wedding of our dreams. Best day ever. Best venue ever. Thank you William Penn Inn.

Kate Marshall and her team at the William Penn Inn Flower Shop went above and beyond to make my brother’s wedding at The Union League absolutely beautiful. With her creativity and design, she transformed the atmosphere for both the ceremony and reception into an elegant and intimate setting. The floral garlands used on the ceremonial mandap were out of this world. The high and low centerpieces were perfect. I could tell so much personal touch went into their work and Kate just made the whole process so seamless. I highly recommend using them even if your wedding is off premise (which in our case it was!!)

Shelley, Collin and the entire staff of the William Penn inn worked so hard to bring my wedding dreams to life. We planned an outdoor wedding in July and it was cold and pouring rain, I cried the night before thinking my wedding day would be a disaster. I should have never even bothered to refresh the weather because my outdoor ceremony was quickly turns into an indoor ceremony that was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined, Shelley even went as far as to give us the second ball room for cocktail hour because no one had booked it for that evening! It was an absolute dream. The cake was beautiful, the floral arrangements amazing, and the food delicious. I could not thank them enough! Do not hesitate to book with the William penn inn!

The minute we had our viewing appointment we knew this was the place to get married. We got so many compliments on how beautiful EVERYTHING was, because they do take care of everything. The in-house florist is incredible and our cake was perfect, not to mention the food was delicious and fairly priced. The only thing I would change is I wish I had one coordinator from start to finish, I worked with about 3 different coordinators and I felt like I was getting lost in the shuffle.All in all it was an amazing venue experience and I highly recommend them.

The William Penn Inn exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier with the way our wedding went — from our first contact with Monica to the day itself coordinated by Colin. Monica was excellent; she answered all of our questions and was incredibly patient in helping us organize and plan our day. She promised that we would feel like guests at our own wedding, and we really, truly did. On our wedding day, Colin ensured that the event flowed perfectly and that we were well cared for. The value we received from The William Penn Inn was beyond worth the price tag. We received compliments about the food, cake, and desserts, and the design of our cake was perfectly executed. It was among my favorite details of the night. Kate’s floral arrangements were perfect, too. The atmosphere of the venue, both inside and out, made for some stunning photography (especially with the Christmas decorations still up!). I’d highly recommend The William Penn Inn to any couple who wants a fantastic wedding without the worry.

My apologies to the William Penn Inn for this belated review, but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the venue for the amazing wedding I had in October of 2017. I knew the food would be great having dined at the Inn previously, but the services provided by waitstaff, in-house floral department, and the bakery were amazing. In particular, Monica Ganter in the banquet department was polite, responsive, and organized. She made our planning process a breeze through her prompt replies to e-mail inquiries, and she was so courteous to each and every question we submitted her way. Kate Marshall in the floral department was also a pleasure to work with. She created some beautiful floral designs in line with my vision and navy/marsala/gold color scheme. The bakery did a wonderful job creating a customized navy blue fondant cake based off a picture found on Pinterest. Last but not least, our day-of-coordinator Colin performed his job spectacularly. He made sure all the vendors were setup when and where they needed to be, and was always by our side throughout the reception when we needed him. He gently guided us through the classic hallmark events (cake cutting, first dances, toasts, etc.), but he was always gracious and accommodating, never pushy. I highly recommend this venue to every other couple! I am the stereotypical Type A personality type and did my part through meticulous planning and scheduling regular follow-ups with every vendor. When it came to my actual wedding day, the staff ensured that each and every carefully plan detailed was executed and that I was most importantly able to relax and enjoy my wedding day. If there were an option to give 10 stars, I wouldn't hesitate to do it - William Penn Inn is an outstanding, absolutely stellar wedding reception venue (we had our ceremony off site so I can't speak to that, but I'm sure it would be lovely!). I could write a novel about how Monica (wedding coordinator) and Kate (flowers coordinator) went far above and beyond what I would have expected of them. I'm an out-of-town bride, and loved the idea of the catering, flowers, linens, reception venue, etc. all being housed under one roof - the different vendors were comfortable and used to working with one another, which made everything even easier to handle from a few hours away. Both Monica and Kate were prompt to respond to questions (even when Monica was away on maternity leave!) and were happy to offer their insight and opinions when asked for advice. I truly enjoyed working with them.Aside from the outstanding coordinators, the Inn itself is simply stunning. I got married on a snowy Saturday in December and the entire venue was lit up in white lights. It looked gorgeous. Inside, the Inn's holiday decorations were silver, gold, white and green garland - simply chic and didn't make me feel like I was having a Christmas wedding (I love Christmas but wasn't looking to have Santa or giant nutcrackers in my wedding decor). We also had a handful of items we wanted displayed during the cocktail reception (LP records we asked guests to sign for a guest book, pictures of parent/grandparent weddings, etc.) - Monica worked with her team to arrange everything and it looked wonderful! And aside from all THAT, the food was fabulous. Guests didn't stop commenting on how delicious everything was all night (prime rib in particular was top notch!) Absolutely 100% would recommend.

Having our wedding reception at the William Penn Inn was very special for my husband and I since we grew up in the area and it’s a staple in the community! The staff there is wonderful to work with- especially Monica. She answered all my questions and made expert suggestions throughout the entire wedding planning process! I also can’t say enough about Kate, the WPI’s florist. I have never been a major fan of flowers- they’re beautiful, but never anything to write home about. Well, the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages Kate created for my wedding WERE something to write home about! Everyone could not get over how beautiful the flowers and arrangements were. Multiple people said that they were the most beautiful flowers they’d ever seen! I am so happy I decided to have my wedding reception at the William Penn Inn- the night turned out to be as wonderful as we had envisioned!

I had my wedding at the William Penn Inn in August 2017 and I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about this venue. First of all, the food is delicious - everything from the appetizers to the main course to the cake was perfect. Second, the staff at the William Penn Inn does EVERYTHING that they can do to make your wedding perfect. They are friendly, responsive, and understanding with every aspect of the wedding planning process. The week before the wedding you just drop off anything that you want displayed and tell them how you want it, and you do not have to worry because the day of the wedding it will be set up beautifully. Third, it is so convenient. They have a flower shop, a bakery, and wedding planners available on site. They also take care of set-up, linens, centerpieces, decorations, and anything else that you want. Fourth, the garden is amazing -- you would never think that right next to a busy road like 202 there would be such a secret, beautiful, quiet, peaceful garden for a ceremony. Our pictures taken in the garden were wonderful. Again, it is so convenient - you can have the ceremony in the garden and then walk right into the ballroom for the cocktail hour.Lastly, I still cannot believe how smooth the day went. Because of the wonderful staff, I did not worry about anything and I was able to enjoy my wedding. The only thing that they do not have is a groom's suite. They have a beautiful large bridal suite that is included, but there is no where for the groom to get ready on the property that is included. However, overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this venue!!

We were thrilled that we were able to get a date at the William Penn Inn for our wedding! I had high expectations for this venue and they no doubt delivered in most areas. Pros:*Flower Shoppe - Kate is AMAZING! She really took the time to discuss our vision and showed us samples of bouquets and centerpieces. She even suggested a better floor plan than originally made up by the Banquet salesperson. All the flowers the day of the wedding were so beautiful, from my bouquet, to the boutonnieres, the centerpieces, and flowers on the cake. *Bakery On Site – We choose the flavor of the cake after our tasting, and worked with the floral department on the design. Cake was beautiful and delicious! *Food/Open Bar - All the food and drink was amazing! They were accommodating with guests being vegan and/or Gluten Free. *Ceremony (Indoor & Outdoor) On Site – We had our ceremony in Penn’s Garden. It was beautiful and we lucked out with great weather. Tip: if you have pictures taken in the garden, bring heel protectors; go barefoot, or wear flip-flops to prevent you from sinking into the ground. *Over-night Hotel Room – They were nice enough to comp us an overnight room, which made it super convenient to crash right after the wedding. *Bridal Suite – Use of this room was a great decision! It’s spacious and can accommodate a large group and vendors for hair and make-up.Cons:*Not Intimate - There will be other events going on at the venue. I don’t think this necessarily effected The William Penn’s performance, however, you may have strangers intermingling with your party. We were trying to take photos in the entrance and the guests that were having a party next door were so rude and couldn’t even wait until the picture was taken to walk through. Also, some other officiant just walked into the Bridal Suite as we were getting ready thinking I was the bride she was marrying that day. There was also a party going on while we were getting ready in the Bridal Suite and even though it wasn’t that much a nuisance, there was still a lot of noise being made. Kind of took away from the “tranquil” moments before the craziness of the wedding begins! My case in point is, this venue is not intimate and you will be sharing it with many other people and events. *Service Lacked in certain areasSome guests made comments that the Bar Tender was a little rude. No bottled water was provided in the Bridal Suite as promised. (And you can’t bring in any outside food)Banquet Salesperson verbally promised on several occasions that they would throw in a complementary Mac & Cheese station. Now it wasn’t on the contract and that was my bad for not noticing, but she did tell my mom and I about it and there was no Mac & Cheese station during cocktail hour. Also, the salesperson I was working with had an emergency right before the wedding (Yes I totally get emergencies happen) and I had to be switched to another sales person. I kind of feel our wedding got “lost in the sauce” per say. I had to wait days for questions to be answered through e-mail and didn’t know that the salesperson wasn’t working on our wedding anymore until I called WP and asked what was going on. I didn’t feel the Banquet Salespeople really gave us the attention and assistance with the wedding planning I would hope for from The William Penn Inn. In summary, The William Penn Inn is a great wedding venue and I was overall very pleased and know my guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

We had our rehearsal lunch here and ordered pastries for the wedding the next day. The food for both was absolutely amazing. We asked for a change in the menu and they accommodated with no problems. Terry, the pastry chef, was so easy to work with and just a phenomenal chef. We didn't have any left over pastries from the wedding and people are still talking about them.

She helped keep us organized, was accommodating to all of my questions (and I had a lot), and made us feel so special at every meeting that we had. A big plus - we were allowed to have 6 guests at our tasting which allowed it to be a great pre-wedding event for us and both sets of parents.From the moment we got to the WPI, everything went smoothly. There was a beautiful & spacious bridal sweet for us to put down all of our belongs and freshen up before the pictures. We then used Penn's Garden to take all of pictures. The flowers were beautiful and there was plenty of space and variety in flowers, etc to take alot of different pictures. While we were in Penn's Garden during the cocktail hour, they had servers coming down to serve apps & drinks to us and the entire bridal party.I can't say enough amazing things about the William Penn Inn. It was the best decision to have our wedding there. If you both work and don't have the time to be dealing with a lot of different vendors and wedding planning craziness, WPI is the best option. In addition to great cocktail hour/reception services, they have an amazing onsite floral boutique that did all of our flowers & made 2 delivery spots, as well as, a wonderful onsite bakery which made our cake as well! It is a one stop wedding stop and they do everything with such care and attention to detail.For the past few weeks I have had guests from the wedding come up and tell us how they had the best time at our wedding. Comments like: Tons of space to dance the night away, delicious apps during the cocktail hour, and best dinner at a wedding they ever had!

The Inn is just beautiful & staff is wonderful! We had our wedding ceremony & reception there in June & everything on the day of went perfectly!! It looked exactly as I'd envisioned, everyone raved about their food, and it was a magical day. We don't have any shortage of great things to say about Shelley who helped with the planning process, our day-of coordinator, Colin, and the rest of staff! We also opted to use the in-house florist, Kate, who was a pleasure to work with & made everything look beautiful. I highly recommend the Inn for your wedding if you want a classic, beautiful venue with charm & wonderful service!

If you've ever driven by or visited the William Penn Inn, you know that the setting and location is absolutely stunning. The grounds are impeccably well kept and the trees lining the street are full of twinkle lights year round. Planning my wedding was made exponentially easier thanks to the Banquet Sales Manager, Monica Ganter. Throughout the process, from picking the venue to the day of the wedding, she was always available to answer any and all questions I was able to come up with and even make suggestions for things I hadn't thought of. Monica and Kate (the onsite florist) had a lot of suggestions and options to choose from along with pictures of what they had done in the past. They made planning flowers, seating charts, and ceremony decorations fun and easy. The day of the wedding the staff perfectly set up all of our extra signs, favors, boxes, etc. They even had free sun umbrellas to put up during the ceremony which was great for our older guests. The only real hiccup and the reason this review is four stars instead of five was the coordination the day of. Small but important things like not having flower petals for the flower girls, trying to charge the bridal suite for food and drinks we already worked into the contract and paid for, and having the boutonnieres and father/mother flowers delivered to the bridal suite rather than passing them out to the appropriate people. Luckily we were able to resolve all these small issues, but for a place well known for their excellent service and considering how easy the planning had been I had expected a little more organization.That being said, if you are looking for a beautiful venue with outstanding food, staff, and location you really can't do much better than the William Penn Inn.

I cannot rave enough about the William Penn Inn. The food, ambiance, and staff were simply amazing. I wish I could give them more than five stars because they significantly exceeded my expectations. The value of their wedding packages far exceeds the cost. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to any soon-t0-be bride or groom!

I cannot say enough good things about the William Penn Inn! Everything was perfect from the set up to the cake to the flowers. Monica, Kate and Kelly did an amazing job. I had my wedding here in April of 2017 and it was perfect. From the beginning they took care of everything. They make your cake, they make excellent food, the flowers were beautiful and they are reasonably priced. Shelley was our person throughout the planning process and Robin was our day of person. They were both phenomenal. The day went smoothly, there were no issues and it was fun. Everybody thought the food was amazing. I'm still obsessing over the tangerine glazed salmon.

The best experience I could of ever had !!! The William Penn is top of the line, the venue is 100% perfect ! I could not of asked for a better Wedding. They are amazing at what they do! The food , flowers, cake, bridal suite, servers, wedding coordinators, the room was above and beyond what I could of ever dreamed of, thank you so much for making our special day a dream come true !!!

This venue was amazing! The food was amazing, the place is beautiful, and the staff did an incredible job in making us feel worry free about our big day. People still talk about our wedding here! They were super easy to work with from booking our wedding to the end of the wedding. I would highly recommend here!

Where do I even begin, the William Penn Inn was FANTASTIC! The venue itself is beautiful, elegant, and historic. The food is fabulous. The wedding planning staff, Monica (the wedding planner), Kate (the florist), and Kelly (wedding day coordinator), were just amazing. I had a lot of questions along the way which I sent to the staff and they always got back to me quickly and thoughtfully. They made the wedding planning process stress free. The wedding package is absolutely worth it! The cake that is included was delicious, and all of our decorations(flowers) and ambiance were gorgeous! Like I mentioned the food was wonderful, all of our guests raved about it. We also had our rehearsal dinner there and that was wonderful too!Lastly, the wait staff and the hospitality of the William Penn Inn can not be praised enough. They are welcoming and helpful. There was a server that took care of just our parents' table’s at the wedding. They were also constantly checking on us, making sure we were enjoying ourselves and asking if we needed anything.We had an amazing time and will be returning customers of the William Penn Inn. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

William Penn Inn has always held a special place in my heart due to all of the family events I’ve attended there, and after having my wedding there, I love William Penn Inn even more! From the very first meeting there with Shelley, to meeting with Kate, the florist, sorting out details with Monica, and working with Kelly the day of our wedding, everything went very smoothly and according to plan. Everyone I worked with was a true professional, very knowledgeable, and most importantly- FUN! A William Penn Inn wedding is great for many, many, reasons but especially because they can do anything right there. The bakery makes the cake [which people LOVED], and flower shoppe can do the flowers, they have the linens, chairs, etc. I can’t recommend Kate, the flower shoppe manager enough. We had such a blast in our planning meetings and she really knows her stuff! As a girl who knows next to nothing about flowers, Kate’s expertise was much appreciated. I had my wedding in December and oh my gosh- the inn at Christmastime. There’s truly no place better or more beautiful. I always said I wouldn’t be one of those brides with a million wedding pictures throughout my house but with such gorgeous pictures from outside, how can I not?! :)

The ceremony site is a hidden gem, you have no idea it's even there and it's somehow immune to the traffic noise that's a constant. The lit gazebo makes for great pictures and the food was absolutely delicious. We had decent cocktail service during our post-ceremony portrait session, and email communication wasn't always a breeze, but it turned out perfectly just the same.We also used their flower shop and Kate Marshall was fantastic! She was going through the process as a bride-to-be as well so she totally got what I was going through. She was flexible and able to help me refine & explain my vision. My sample bouquet was a dream and the finished products looked great! She even gave my mother her own little succulent, since she didn't want a whole corsage. Thanks!!
