Katelyn Reimer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-07-2022 We have loved the Williamsburg Winery since visiting for tastings in college, and we knew it was exactly where we wanted to get married! And it did not disappoint! We loved working with Leah, the wedding coordinator, who was happy to put up with the millions of questions we had for her, and offered lots of helpful suggestions to bring our vision to life. We also loved that catering was included as part of the wedding package; it made the process so much easier! We also took advantage of the hotel on the property, Wedmore Place, by staying there throughout the wedding weekend. Most of the bridal party and several guests also chose to stay there, and we got ready at the hotel as well. On the day of, Wessex Hall was the perfect backdrop for our vows. We love the ambiance created by all the gorgeous wood in the room, the lights and drapes on the ceiling, the fireplace we used as the alter, and wine barrels accenting the space. We were equally happy with the room once it was transformed into the reception area! Possibly our favorite feature of the venue is the wine cellar, where we were able to share our private last dance with our photographer and videographer in tow! Overall, our wedding at the Williamsburg Winery was everything we hoped it would be! Reviewed on 05-08-2022

We booked the winery for our wedding because it’s beautiful, and we love visiting the tasting room despite some of the negative reviews. To be honest, a lot of them started out to be accurate, but about 3 months into our planning, the winery changed ownership and the head of the events staff changed as well. Stacy was a dream to work with, as was Ryleigh. They were responsive, accommodating, flexible, and always kind. They worked with us and our day of coordinator to make sure every detail we wanted happened according to our vision. Our day was amazing, and everything we wanted, and more. Many guests told us how stunning the venue is. The food was amazing. Obviously, so was the wine. Our rehearsal dinner in the wine cellar was just as perfect. Reviewed on 09-10-2023
Rebecca Moran(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-08-2022 Amazing venue! Food was delicious! Services provided were far better than expected. The fact that the wedding venue, reception venue, food, drinks & linens were included made it the best best choice for wedding. Reviewed on 01-09-2022
kimberly Malejko(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-12-2019 We were looking for a small venue for a intimate wedding ceremony in Williamsburg. We live in NOVA, so its a task to coordinate something so not in town; we literally stumbled on the Wessex Hundred Inn and wow! It was absolutely PERFECT. Leah and the staff were amazing. The setting was perfect, our stay at the Inn and dinner at Cafe Provincal all just perfect. We were so happy. The cost was absolutely reasonable, food perfect, setting, staff . . . I can't rave on them any more. Reviewed on 26-05-2020

The food was good. The staff was wonderful. The Cafe Provencal, in the Wedmore building, has amazing food! Highly recommend reservations and enjoying a high-end meal. The scallops and dessert tasting were perfect. The hotel breakfast, also served at the Cafe, has the best quiche and very nice staff! They are announcing lots of new wines, famous visitors, and expansion plans - look forward to visiting again and relaxing when it's not my wedding! Few places in the Yorktown/Williamsburg area to get married that aren't a country club. Absolutely beautiful venue, with a new cocktail hour reception venue attached to the main reception/ceremony area. Day-of staff was amazing, but the coordinators were rather difficult to work with and often hard to get a hold of a times. Reviewed on 22-03-2018

The venue, staff, food, and wine were incredible! Special shoutout to Kristen who was our wedding coordinator at the winery, she was fantastic! We would recommend the Williamsburg Winery to any couple that wants an elegant, romantic, and slightly rustic wedding! We would get married there again in a heartbeat! Brighid Patterson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-12-2017 My husband and I could not be happier with the venue, the staff, and the on-site hotel, Wedmore Place. The venue’s pricing structure is straightforward, with no hidden gratuity charges and the venue fee included candles, string globe lights, tables, chairs and our choice of linen colors. The food and beverage options and cost will vary based on the couple’s taste and budget - the venue will work with you to get it right. We were able to choose add-ons to make our day special and unique, including a wine tasting for our guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour. As an added bonus, the Winery offers a military discount on the space rental fee. Kari, the Winery’s event coordinator, was absolutely fantastic from the day we met her through our Wedding day. She worked with us to make a custom wedding weekend that was truly us! As our wedding day was approaching, she was extremely accommodating and reassuring… we knew that our big day was in the best hands possible! The Manager on Duty for the rehearsal dinner and wedding day, Chase, was just as amazing, tending to our every need and making sure our last-minute requests were completed with ease. The entire day of staff was extremely welcoming and gracious, they made us feel like the king and queen of the castle and then some! The onsite hotel, Wedmore Place, offered extremely comfortable, elegant, and convenient overnight accommodations for our wedding party and closest family. The hotel staff went above and beyond to work with us in attending to our guests’ needs. All in all, the Williamsburg Winery is a fantastic venue in and of itself, and the staff there make it a perfect place for the biggest day of your life! We can’t recommend it enough. Reviewed on 28-12-2017
Lindsay Evans(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-04-2016 The venue is pretty in and of itself and our pictures were lovely. The event management staff and business are different: they were unresponsive, rude, and left us hanging when the weather was bad (my husband spent all day shoveling before the wedding and the venue coordinator left because she got wet- and she did not come back). Our pictures were pretty, our vendors were AMAZING and the venue was a huge disappointment. It didn't spoil our day, but it still hurts my heart to think back the details of how horrible this venue was to our vendors, to their own employees, and to us. How you react when things are tough speaks to the character of a place, and the Winery really failed us. Reviewed on 19-12-2017
Katie Clough(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-09-2017 Our wedding at the Williamsburg Winery was absolutely perfect. Kari was phenomenal at helping us organize a wonderful event, and the location itself can't be beat. Wessex Hall barely requires any decorating due to its natural rustic beauty, and the Winery has numerous decor items you can borrow as well. This is not the cheapest venue, but you get what you pay for. Everything from food to drink to favors to linens was expertly and professionally handled with no hiccups. Even the event staff were wonderful - one waiter in particular helped fill plates for older family members and then joined in the dancing! Truly a wonderful experience! Reviewed on 09-09-2017

Erin Burke(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-08-2015 We got married here in early August, which was perfect because it was just before harvest time. The vines were lush with greenery and the grapes were fully grown in and hanging so we got some beautiful pictures!\r\rOverall, the Pros:\r-TWW has a beautiful indoor room for a ceremony or reception, which meant that if we had weather impacting our plans, we had a really nice backup plan. The Wessex Hall was renovated between the day I booked them and our wedding day, and the improvement was amazing!! \r-They really do have awesome wine, our guests all loved it, even those who are not big wine fans.\r-Jenny was great to work with as our events coordinator. She answered emails promptly and even front loaded a lot of conversations with information I was going to ask about later. \r-Great price for the venue when you look at other similar venues and what you're really getting as far as space/service. MUCH cheaper (I'm talking 50% cheaper) than smaller wineries in the northern VA area, where we originally looked\r-TWW has a list of approved vendors-you only have to use an approved coordinator and caterer though. I thought it was helpful since were are not from the area and having TWW's opinion of the vendors was helpful.\r-The Gabriel Archer Tavern (also on the property) was a great site for our rehearsal dinner. It is more relaxed than TWW and being in the same location was nice for everyone. When I originally asked about this on our first visit, they said the Tavern does not do rehearsal dinners, but my in-laws called 3 months later and booked them (?). Perhaps they had a change in management.\r\rCons:\r-Basically we were promised a couple of things verbally or through email that didn't happen. For instance, we were told we'd be able to rehearse both an outdoor ceremony and the indoor backup plan. On our rehearsal day, there was an event in the Hall so we weren't allowed to conduct an indoor ceremony rehearsal....leaving my coordinators and I very nervous as there was a threat of rain. Additionally, we were promised we'd be able to take pictures in the reserve cellar, but during our picture time, there was a private tasting going on and so we ended up not being allowed to do that either.\r-Along the same lines, at times, I didn't feel like my wedding was a priority. At our bridal wine tasting, our event coordinator told us she couldn't make it (the morning of the meeting she says this) and we had already traveled (we live in NoVa) for the meeting. There were no efforts to have another coordinator do our final walk through or guide our wine tasting, so we were left to do the tasting on our own and never got a final walk through. I think if I had been more pushy, this would have turned out differently. I really do think that it was a freak thing though and that that is not a common practice.\r-We had to hire a day-of coordinator in order to have our wedding at TWW (off of the approved list, many of whom were way over our budget). In the end, I liked having a coordinator on the day of, but I didn't like the idea that I was forced to have one and pay an extra $1000 (on the cheap side) in order to be able to have my wedding at TWW.\r Reviewed on 17-09-2015

Ashleigh Koon(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-05-2014 Beautiful venue and decently priced as far as wedding venues go, but we didn't get our seating layout plan from the winery until just a couple weeks before the wedding. The winery also had one coordinator at the rehearsal and a different person at the wedding, which may have caused some confusion. The venue does have a barn that they allow you to store stuff in until the next day, which was really helpful. Reviewed on 09-08-2014

We worked with Conie and Laurie and let me tell you what... these ladies are on top of things!\r\rWhen I first saw the reception hall, it was on a bright summer day and I was less than enthralled with the low ceilings and dark wood everywhere. Let me tell you how wrong I was to assume that it wouldn't look AMAZING once candles were lit and flowers and linens were in place. I have had so many people tell me that my reception was like walking into a fairy tale.\r\rBook early!!! The location is just gorgeous and we just loved working with Conie!! Conie was such a lifesaver with her guidance, enthusiasm, and commitment to our rehearsal/wedding/reception. \r\rThe only negative comment is directed to the reception food.
