The mill dates back to the late 19th century and retains much of its original charm. It has been listed among the top ten wedding venues in the area by Traverse Magazine in 2017, 2018, and 2019. My (now) husband and I went looking for a special venue to host our wedding in the greater Traverse area in the early spring hoping that if we fell in love with a place while it was still in the clutches of winter we would certainly love it for our out of town wedding over Labor Day weekend a year and a half later. It was true. Willowbrook is unlike any place we saw and our wedding day it was transformed even further. Mimi is very knowledgeable to work with and has a vast store of contacts and resources for any couple looking to have their event (we had both a ceremony and a reception) at the Mill. From last minute items that were needed to help managing the flow of events, Mimi even filmed some precious moments of our flower girl walking down the 'aisle' which was the bridge leading out of the mill. They truly go above and beyond for their clients. We had the loveliest day in a very unique place!

Even on a cold, rainy October day when we toured the venue, it was so perfect. Mimi is an absolutely wonderful host, and the space is gorgeous and so full of love. Mimi and Joel have done an incredible job, and Willowbrook Mill is a breathtaking wedding venue. We wholeheartedly recommend them!

My husband and I had our wedding reception here last weekend and it was absolutely magical! The venue is so stunning and the town of Northport was such a perfect spot for an amazing wedding weekend! The Venue owners Mimi and Joel went above and beyond and were super helpful every step of the way! Even suggesting where to have our rehearsal dinner and where the best picture spots in the area were. Would recommend 10/10! 🤩

Character, charm & class. This venue is highly sought after, so if you’re seriously considering, we recommend you book as soon as you’ve made your decision. We discovered this one-of-a-kind venue by recommendation from my sister who had attended a wedding here years before. We live in Connecticut so we weren’t able to get to Northport to do venue visits right away & were eager to reserve our date due to the limited availability & number of couples who were currently holding dates. We reviewed photos and reviews online & after discussing our wedding vision with our wedding planner, we felt confident booking Willowbrook Mill site unseen. When we were finally able to visit in person, it was even more charming and unique than any picture or online review can truly represent. Located right in the heart of downtown Northport, you really feel like you’re stepping into a storybook town. Situated just minutes between the church where we said our vows and the shoreline where we took our sunset photos, Willowbrook Mill is an exceptional place for a wedding reception. The main room is such a great space with beautiful wood flooring, lighting and features throughout that give the space character. It’s a versatile space, so you can make it suit your style - dress it up or keep it simple. The space is stunning on its own, so when you see it all lit up with the tables decorated, it is breathtaking. The rest of the property also lends to the romantic ambiance with multiple areas indoors & out for your guests to gather. There’s a flowing brook beneath the bridge to the reception hall, a spacious deck overlooking a quaint patio, a welcoming fireplace in the foyer & a spacious sunroom off the foyer where the bar is located. They only hold one event per day so your event is their focus. Mimi and company were so accommodating and quick to reply to our every request that we felt like we were part of their extended family. They were incredibly helpful in every step of the process, from providing us with ideas for the decorations to recommending local vendors with whom they’ve worked with in the past. All of our guests were dancing and partying right up to the last minute and when the night was over, we couldn’t believe how magical the whole day had been! Willowbrook Mill is a very special place, and if you are considering booking your wedding here, rest assured that it will be a fairytale experience.

The venue itself couldn’t be more magical, my wife and I had the wedding of our dreams because of the beautiful space and building layout. As for the management, they were quite rude to our friends and weren’t very accommodating considering the high price we paid for the use of their building for 5 hours.

holy. cow. we visited Willowbrook Mill and Northport one time and it was all over. Mimi and Sam were the absolute best. from start to finish, they made our wedding so amazing and so special. i'm actually a wedding photographer and i have seen many, many venues - these guys are the most accommodating venue owners i have ever seen!! they worked with us on every single detail that we wanted and made our wedding absolutely spectacular. they have recommendations for every category of need you may want if you're getting married from out of town and don't know many vendors in the area. they are so passionate about making your wedding directly reflect your vision, and we were so appreciative of that! the fact that they only do one wedding per weekend is a huge sign to me that they value quality over quantity, and i cannot stress enough how perfect everything was. our guests raved about our choice of venue, and we are so thankful to have met Mimi!!!

I was a little hesitant to consider Northport -- such a small town and so far away from our home, our families, our guests, etc -- for a gay wedding. I had been turned down by a few places who wouldn't host a gay wedding in other small towns so I was especially nervous to consider Northport. But I loved the Willowbrook website so much we decided to check it out anyway. I am so glad that we did!! Willowbrook and Northport and everything about our wedding was more than we could have hoped for. It was gorgeous, the people were so friendly and happy for us, and the venue was perfect.I can not rave enough about Sam and Mimi. They were SO helpful every step of the way and truly went above and beyond for ever bit of our wedding. We decided to do a really unusual theme (Vintage Kitchen) and brought all our own dishes, bar items, and a zillion props. They let us have extra time to set up and take down and did everything they could to ensure our vision came to life. The day of, I didn't worry about anything. I knew that Sam and Mimi had everything at Willowbrook Mill under control and when we walked into the venue, it was perfect. In fact, it was more than I could have hoped for. If you are looking for a gorgeous venue, an amazing town, and an overall fantastic place for one of the most special days of your life, get married at Willowrbook Mill. It will be everything you ever envisioned and more.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Willowbrook Mill, or the venue owners, Mimi and Samantha. For the almost two years we were engaged, Mimi was there for us every step of the way, she helped us see a vision we didn't even know was possible, and helped us execute it flawlessly. Mimi and Samantha both went above and beyond their roles, even going as far as contacting local government figures to try to sort out a situation that occurred with our ceremony site that was in no way affiliated with their business at all. Not only is The Willowbrook Mill hands down the most gorgeous and unique event venue in Northern Michigan, the owners Mimi and Samantha are the icing on the cake. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives, and I owe a great debt of gratitude to The Willowbrook Mill for everything they did to contribute to that.

The owners were a dream to work with - very professional, experienced and helpful - as a first time bride and planning the event pretty much on my own, they provided a lot of support. The Willowbrook Mill is such a romantic, sophisticated venue. It is a wonderful change from tired, hotel ballrooms. We walked into a nearby coffee shop for ice cream one day and ended up at the Mill. We knew it was perfect for our wedding (despite the fact that we weren't even engaged yet!). Since we're from out of town and have no family nearby, my parents insisted that I look at other venues online that were closer to home. Nothing even compared. Pat and Kathleen were so wonderful to work with and bent over backwards to make our day special. We threw so many requests their way (including having a grand piano delivered on the Friday before our wedding and picked up the following Monday), and they happily worked with us on everything. The venue was something I never worried about for our wedding. I knew it would be perfect, and it absolutely was. Our guests loved everything from the water wheel to the stone fireplaces. It is a magical place.
