Constructed in 1817 Wilsons Bittersweet Barn was built prior to the civil war and was likely used as a staging area during the Battle of Gettysburg. This aged brick structure is a unique architectural masterpiece that has withstood the test of time. Expert care has been used to maintain the integrity and rustic features this spacious barn has to offer, holding a whopping 220 guests. We specialize in Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries, and gatherings of various sizes. We believe in offering a quality venue at an affordable rate with additional items included to help customize your special event. It would be our privilege to assist you in creating a memory that will last a lifetime.

Tim and I couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding. The communication and detailed planning that led up to our wedding day was great, and they were always available to answer any questions that we had. The day of the wedding was a bit stressful as you can imagine, but Amanda did everything she could to ease some stress and nerves, from fixing our centerpieces, to making sure the ceremony site was sat up exactly how we wanted it, and even coming in to help some of the bridesmaids zip their dresses. We couldn't have asked for a better support group of people behind us on our wedding day. Tim and I received so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful and magical the wedding and the venue were. I have to admit, we are going to miss this great group of people who we have worked so closely with over the last 2 years since we booked this venue. We highly recommend this venue not only for the beauty of the property, but for the amazing family that runs it that you will get to work with while you're planning your special event!

We just got married here and I canât recommend it enough. Great location, beautiful inside area, ceremony areas, garden area with water fetchers, plenty of parking plus they assist handy-cap guests. My bridal party was very impressed of the Farm House bridal suite all to themselves. What a treat to find such a great family venue. Wilsonâs Bittersweet Barn is perfect. The layout in the barn is so beautiful that it made it so easy to use our creativity and decor to have a theme wedding on October 29th. The weather was great for our outside ceremony but at Wilsonâs Bittersweet Barn there was always a plan B to take inside and that was a A+plus for us. Breathtaking scenery all around the property. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to us.. Our guest canât stop talking about it. Saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to! So Thank you again, Starner family for coordinating my crazy family. :) Accommodated all our requests and were beyond helpful in the planning process handling the celebration with expertise. Plus Helpful the entire way through as we celebrated Our special day with family and friends. It was a truly memorable weekend for all of us, leaving us with memories that we will always treasure. We cannot say enough how overjoyed we are that we chose this venue for our 9/24/22 wedding! The Starner family goes above and beyond, to say the least. It is evident from the moment you step onto the property that this family pours their hearts & souls into making this venue beautiful. From start to finish Troy and Kara were always there to answer any questions we had (and there were a lot) and give guidance so we could plan our dream wedding. We are still shocked that we can even say we felt RELAXED on our wedding day because of the outstanding 'behind the scenes' work being done by the Starners' and Amanda to coordinate everything. Our favorite memory of our wedding day was thanks to the thoughtful planning of the Starners'- as they provided a private moment for us to have our \"first drink\" as a married couple in the garden. We are grateful for this hardworking family and are so glad we chose Wilsons Bittersweet Barn to celebrate our special day!!

Wilsonâs Bittersweet Barn was amazing!! We loved the venue so much!We love the lights in the barn it definitely adds a special touch that makes it so beautiful! Troy and Kara were super nice and weâre very helpful with information and recommendations! We canât thank them enough! We had a Sunday wedding and did not have too much time to set up but Troy and Kara were awesome with getting everything together so quickly! Loved the ceremony space that we had. Also loved the private area for me and my husband to sit down and have 10 minutes just to ourselves while cocktail hour was going on! The best day ever!!

The Starner family is fantastic to work with and they are so personable. They truly care about you and your special day. The property is beautiful. Absolutely LOVED this venue for our special day. You can see that theyâve put a lot of work in the details around the property which allows plenty of options for photos. I also like that they have indoor restrooms, and a place for both bridesmaids & groomsmen to get ready. We just had our daughter's wedding here last Saturday and it was fantastic. The barn was so beautiful, we didn't need to decorate much at all. The setting is so pretty and there is lots of room outdoors for kids to run and play. They also have a fire pit which is nicely done and a nice extra for people to use. Troy and Kara were so helpful with where things should go and how the day should progress and were on hand the whole day to help out. Also, the 3 day access was wonderful as well so we didn't feel rushed or pressured to get things done. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Troy, Kara, and Colby were amazing to work with. Even though COVID changed some plans, they kept in communication with us the whole way. Our guests gave rave reviews. The fire pit was definitely a favorite, and there is plenty of space to spread out during the night. My girls and I had full access of the bottom floor of the farmhouse to get ready, which was nice. I am so glad that we chose this venue. Highly recommend!

This barn venue was everything we had hoped for and more. The amazing classy and elegant look inside with all the lights was breathtaking!!! The outside flowers/greens, and waterfall features were perfect for anyone who attended to take photos by. And when it got dark outside it became even more beautiful with all the lights outside. Just wow!!! đImpressively gorgeous is the best way to describe this Barn venue. Troy and Kara were so helpful and welcoming! đWe had the whole bottom part of a house for my husband and I to get ready in, and itâs was very spacious and had exactly what we needed inside.We had many people young and older tell us that this was the most beautiful reception theyâve ever seen. Awwwww, that made our hearts soar!Definitely a venue I will continue to recommend to friends and family. Excellent place!!

We just had our wedding here 10-12-2019. The Starnerâs are absolutely wonderful. Troy helped answer any questions I had on where to put things and gave me his opinions and different options and allowed me to create my wedding the exact way that I wanted. Colby and Kara were both there to answer questions and to help with set up to make everything perfect the day of. Kara was a saint with getting back to me about random questions I had up till our date. And she was just helpful all the way around. Which helped with any stress we had. The venue- absolutely breathtaking. If you want an rustic old barn that has been redone to be a beautiful unique wedding venue, then this is the place to go. There are 3 different places on the property for the ceremony site, the girls get the house to get ready in, and the guys have a grooms suite attached to the barn. The cocktail hour site is under the barn, and the reception area inside the barn is gorgeous. All the lights already make the barn beautiful that it almost doesnât need any decorations. The list of preferred vendors Kara gives you is super helpful along with checklists month by month that needs to be done to keep you on track. They did a phenomenal job with everything and we are super pleased with how everything turned out to make our wedding exactly as we pictured it. Thank you again to Troy, kara and Colby! Troy helped answer any questions I had on where to put things and gave me his opinions and different options and allowed me to create my wedding the exact way that I wanted. Colby and Kara were both there to answer questions and to help with set up to make everything perfect the day of. Kara was a saint with getting back to me about random questions I had up till our date. And she was just helpful all the way around. Which helped with any stress we had. The venue- absolutely breathtaking. If you want an rustic old barn that has been redone to be a beautiful unique wedding venue, then this is the place to go. There are 3 different places on the property for the ceremony site, the girls get the house to get ready in, and the guys have a grooms suite attached to the barn. The cocktail hour site is under the barn, and the reception area inside the barn is gorgeous. All the lights already make the barn beautiful that it almost doesnât need any decorations. The list of preferred vendors Kara gives you is super helpful along with checklists month by month that needs to be done to keep you on track. They did a phenomenal job with everything and we are super pleased with how everything turned out to make our wedding exactly as we pictured it. Thank you again to Troy, kara and Colby! We had the best experience with Wilsonâs Bittersweet Barn as our Wedding venue! Troy, Kara and Colby were so kind, nice and responsive throughout the whole planning process- they made it so easy. Wilson's Bittersweet Barn is so beautiful and didn't require many additional decorations. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in this awesome place. The barn interior is an amazing setting for any special occasion and the outside is so beautifully landscaped with seasonal flowers and manicured lawn. The fish pond was a special touch which is why I chose that spot for guest photos. Troy, Kara and Colby are such special people who were great to work with and so caring they felt like family. I give this place a 5-star rating, but if there was a rating higher than that, they earned that too.

This was both our second marriage, in which our goal was to have a laid back celebration with family and friends. Thanks to the incredible Starner family, our day was just that! We looked at venues to host our wedding, but could not find any that fit our needs better than Wilsonâs Bittersweet Barn. The Barn initially grabbed our attention with its natural beauty, location, and unique features. Then once the Starners welcomed us like old friends and shared how many different ways the property could be utilized, we both knew this was where we were going to get married!!! Some of the unique features that our friends commented upon included the historic brickwork, architecture, the memory wall within the reception area, the long harvest table, and the landscaping. We were so excited to use the outside for the ceremony, the bottom of the barn for happy hour, and the upstairs for the reception. Guests had the opportunity to wander around the premises- checking out the koi pond and fountain, taking their own pictures with all the beautiful landscaping, and play oversized yard games that we set up all over the place. Kara is always available to answer any questions throughout the planning process. Even more, all of the vendors spoke very highly of the family and venue when we told them where we were having our wedding. One of the things we really liked was not feeling rushed with setting up and cleaning up due to time constraints. This truly added a stress free fun vibe to this occasion!!Troy, Colby and Kara do their best to make your wedding day absolutely wonderful!! You will find all of them the morning of the event overlooking every little detail, from Kara directing caterers, DJs and other staff where and how to setup, Colby working on another project, to Troy pulling dead leaves off the plants around the barn to ensure every plant looks its best for you. Throughout the day, Kara continues to work with your staff to ensure that everything runs smoothly, while Troy and Colby are checking to see if anything is needed. They even attended to small, but important details such as providing transportation from the parking lot to the barn to accommodate those who might need any assistance.
