Located in Madison, WI, the Wisconsin Masonic Center is a historical landmark and wedding venue. Formerly known as the Madison Masonic Center, this elegant locale can easily suit a variety of wedding themes. It's run by a team dedicated to providing a space for celebrations and events while maintaining this vintage building.
The Wisconsin Masonic Center sits on what was once a First Presbyterian Church that was purchased in 1891 and remodeled into a Masonic Temple. A new building was constructed in the 1920s by Law and Law Architects. Over the following decades, it became a place for people to host events, such as weddings, as well as a location for Masonic activities. Today it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With its Grand Foyer, spacious theatre, and art-deco details throughout, it provides a memorable backdrop for weddings.
There are seven spaces that can be booked throughout the Wisconsin Masonic Center and they may be rented for multiple days. The venue can accommodate nuptial festivities of between 75 and 450 people. There are multiple ceremony and reception options, each ideal for different-sized parties. Among these is a ballroom, complete with columns that can be lit. The staff is able to provide access to audiovisual equipment, including projector screens, microphones, and more. Kavanaugh's Catering, the onsite caterer, takes care of the dining experience. These skilled culinary professionals craft meals suitable for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, as well as appetizers. Tables, chairs, linens, and other rentals are also provided.
Audra Cohen-Plata(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2017 We had our wedding reception at the Masonic Center in October 2017. The experience was fantastic. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Seriously, the service was above and beyond. They helped ease our stress during planning. We used the bridal area to get ready, and had our cocktail hour and reception there as well. Highly recommend. Reviewed on 08-06-2020

Abbey Shaw(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 We had our wedding here a few months ago and we so pleased with how it turned out! It is a gorgeous venue that offers so much versatility. We were really able to make the space our own and it looked like a million bucks! The staff is very punctual and easy to get ahold of and work with. They make sure you feel comfortable with how your day will run and make sure that you know their policies and expectations upfront. There was an issue with our bill at the end and the staff went above and beyond to make sure it was rectified before we walked down the isle. It's a very affordable venue right in the heart of downtown. Perfect location! Reviewed on 26-11-2018
Bree Wilhelmson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2018 The Masonic Center was a beautiful place to get married. It was hard finding a place in Madison that would fit all the guests in our wedding. We wanted a unique place in Madison to get married and feel in love with the building. The bridal suite was the perfect place to get ready and take pictures with bridesmaids. The close proximity to the capital & lakes made it easy to take pictures in great locations. I had many compliments about the ceremony and reception being in the same location. There was also plenty of room of parking. Lisa was great in helping us plan & organize our wedding. Sheryl1282 Post(not set)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2016 Great venue. The staff was very accommodating to what we wanted. They decided to switch caterers after we signed our contract, which I was worried about. But the food was good. Reviewed on 20-10-2016
Dan Block(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-08-2016 This is the perfect location for an elegantly beautiful wedding. We could not have been more pleased with both of the wedding coordinators, the caterer that they have and the setup/cleanup crew. The location is perfect next to the state capitol and the reception hall is beautiful without any additional decor. I would recommend this place to everyone, however you imagine your wedding, this place can make it happen. Reviewed on 07-09-2016
Keeley Johnson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2015 The Masonic Center is such an interesting and unique location. We had an absolute blast with our guests here. The food was fantastic, the room was beautiful and the servers were wonderful. They were extremely accommodating, allowing us in as early as possible to start setting up the banquet hall. They worked with our various vendors to make sure they had the access they needed and questions answered. The only thing I would change about the night is how our bar tab was handled - this may be \"common knowledge\ Reviewed on 14-09-2015
Anonymous (parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-08-2014 From the second we walked in the front door at the Madison Masonic Center we were all in awe of the facility! It is so beautiful and full of history! Debbie Wagner, Business Manager, worked very hard to exceed our expectations! Our wedding guests are still talking about how much fun they had at Katie and Jonny's wedding! We very much appreciate your efforts in helping to make Katie and Jonny have their dream wedding! Madison Masonic Center gets high marks for the quality of your facility and services. Mike Losse Catering went above and beyond to accommodate our guests needs. The bartenders/waiters/waitresses, were constantly walking around filling up our cups! I have never been to a wedding and seen that before! AWESOME! The food was delicious! Our guests were served very quickly from the bridal table to the back of the room. We would not change one thing for the special day, for this, we remain eternally grateful! Reviewed on 21-08-2014

I was planning the wedding by myself, and their staff really took care of all the little details for our reception so I didn't have to worry day-of. So thankful! They were flexible, willing to work with my ideas, and so nice! I HIGHLY recommend. Reviewed on 07-06-2014
Annie Wilcox(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2013 We picked the Madison Masonic Center because they were one of the only places in the city that had enough space for a 350+ wedding. They were also one of the most affordable; $20.00 per plate, about $23 with tip, and cheaper prices for kids under 10. They also are a non-profit, and all of their profits go towards dyslexia programs. \r\rI cannot say enough good things about the Masonic Center. They communicated throughout the whole process, had great insight, and even allowed us to come in on Thursday and decorate the hall. \r\rThe service the night of was outstanding. They held my husband and my plate so we wouldn't get our clothes dirty, and were constantly checking on us to see if we needed water or a drink.\r\rDefinitely give them high regards. A true gem in an icky market! Reviewed on 19-07-2013
Alicia Erickson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-10-2012 Our wedding was 8 weeks ago. The Masonic Center was a great venue. Debbie was a huge help and was always available for any questions. She let us come in a few times before the wedding to show our family the beautiful ballroom and allowed us to come in 2 days early to decorate. The waitstaff and bartenders were very courteous and prompt.\r\rThe ballroom is already partially decorated with lights around the poles and stretching to the ceiling and a silver ball that hangs in the center of the room. \r\rThe Masonic let us choose 3 entrees. We chose the Stuffed Pork Chop, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Steak. The meals were delicious except for the steaks were a little rare. They didn't ask how we would like the steaks cooked and many of them were medium to medium rare, which our guests wouldn't eat. This could have been resolved if we had discussed this with the cook before the dinner date.\r\rOverall, we would highly recommend the Masonic to anyone as a great venue. Reviewed on 27-12-2012

Kimberly Lea(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2011 My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception at the Madison Masonic Center. It was the first place we visited, and we were convinced right away. The auditorium has stadium seating and lots of room on the floor. You can use their wooden chairs or bring in your own. We had about 45 people on the floor and the rest in the seats. Several people raved about the great view. The acoustics are amazing. The Masonic Center hosts many musicians throughout the year, and the reason is clear. We did not have to use microphones for ourselves, the officiant, or the singers. The staff is very helpful and will let you use pretty much anything that you find around the building. We had our reception in the ballroom, which was beautiful. They had some tulle and lighting that remains up for all the receptions (although you can elect to take it down) because brides generally love it. The food was good and the service was great. Everyone who wanted a drink had one, and the bartenders kept me apprised of how quickly we went through our supply. We unfortunately planned our wedding before the NCAA announced the Badgers would be playing Nebraska at home on our big day. Luckily Debbie (the events coordinator) made it possible for us to have the game on in the next room. Our guests had a great time being able to go back and forth and feel like they weren't missing anything in either room. Overall we were extremely pleased with the venue, and would recommend it to anyone who would appreciate an old and beautiful building with great character. Reviewed on 25-10-2011
Lacey Netz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2011 The Masonic is one of the best bangs for your buck in Madison. Everything is so moderately priced and they do not charge for random extras. They also allow you to bring \"outside\" things in (like cakes from non-licensed bakers). The building is beautiful, it's handicap accessible, and the staff is great to work with!
