Wolf Oak Acres is a climate-controlled, handicap-accessible private venue and a truly magical and historic estate. The wedding barn sits amongst rolling green pastures and intoxicating vistas and boasts ponds, gorges, woods, streams, meadows, and waterfalls. The spectacular setting will give you creatively unique photo opportunities and a one-of-a-kind destination that offers you complete privacy. It provides the perfect backdrop for your intimate ceremony, reception, shower, and, ultimately, unforgettable experience.
Wolf Oak Acres welcomes and works with outside vendors. They also help with referrals if you require advice on flowers, food, drink, etc. The team also offers in-house bar services, with professional bartenders who can serve house or premium wine, beer, and cocktails to your party.
Wolf Oak was a beautiful location to host our wedding reception. The venue and the landscape were stunning and made for a picture perfect day. The staff were very accommodating and helped us successfully plan and prepare to welcome our friends and family. Overall, we could not have picked a better location for our wedding! Holly Jobe(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2022 Upon touring Wolf Oak Acres, we fell in love with the beautiful scenery and the versatility of the venue. The cabins were a huge selling point for us as most of our family and wedding party live out of state, and we do too! We also fell in love with Lauren, the manager and day-of coordinator at the venue, and how organized and down-to-earth she was.I'll start with this: Our wedding was perfect and we wouldn't change a thing. Wolf Oak as a facility perfectly met our needs, and provided so many pros that we appreciated:1) Having a beautiful indoor/outdoor feel that was perfect for fall 2) Having dedicated getting ready spaces in the morning3) Just having SPACE in general for guests to spread out, and so we could have dedicated ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces4) Lauren's relationship with local vendors came in handy for setting upHowever, we did hit some snags that feel worth mentioning candidly to future brides. I'll put it simple: I think Lauren is a little stretched thin. During our 2 night stay for the rehearsal day and wedding at the cabins, she was managing all of the cabins, all wedding related things, paving companies, tours for future couples, etc. and some balls were dropped. I'll be clear, nothing major that seriously impeded our wedding as the majority of the larger issues arose with our cabin rentals, with some minor miscommunication and details being overlooked on the day of the wedding. If Lauren could clone herself 4x over, I think this venue would be absolutely perfect.During the planning process, Lauren consistently remarked at how organized and on the ball we were with communication, and she was matching us beat for beat and making the process so smooth which is partially what made the day before and day of frustrations so poignant and unexpected. Overall, I think WOA is a fantastic venue. It's really beautiful and accommodated our needs. For future brides opting for this venue, I would advise against opting for the on-site cabin accommodations at least until they have separate management that can focus on balancing that AND your dream wedding. I found myself wishing that we had kept those things separate, and believe things would have gone smoother. Reviewed on 22-11-2022

From the multiple ceremony options (pond, tree grove with stream, indoors) to the sprawling lawns full of wildflowers and corn stalks, everything was perfect. The indoor reception space speaks for itself and requires very little decor for the perfect romantic feel! Even the onsite cabins are a treat for a destination wedding, and the bridal suite was such beautiful accommodations for getting ready! I highly recommend everything about Wolf Oak Acres. Lauren was so helpful when we were planning. Any time we had a question, she was just a quick text away. Her experience paid off big time for us on the day of the wedding. Meredith Suwak(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-06-2022 We had our wedding here of 165 people. The great: 1- Lauren! She is the manager/coordinator for the venue and is absolutely amazing. Lauren helped us for the entire 1.5 years we were planning for our wedding and I honestly have nothing bad to say about her. She toured the acres with us several times and gave us helpful tips on how to plan the details of our wedding. She also would text/email me back very quickly and NAILED our visions for the decor. Also, she helped us bring back our decor items to our house on the property at the end of the night. Lauren made things go so smoothly and she is definitely the best asset! 2-Facilities. The barn itself, acres, and lodging are also amazing and outright beautiful. We were lucky enough to get great weather so the acres were beaming the entire weekend. The barn is rustic yet so elegant with the chandeliers. We rented out all cabins & house on the property for both nights for many of our guests which made it so convenient for them and they loved being able to see each other. The scenery around the acres is stunning for photos and all of our guests raved on its beauty. The not so great: This venue has so much potential to become amazing, so I am putting this out there so that maybe the owners can someday make changes. Number 1- the many specific, inconvenient, and inflexible rules. Katrina (the owner) made it clear we could not get into the barn before 8 AM the day of our wedding. I understand this is a liability issue, but this is something that the owners need to change in their insurance policy to decrease stress for families/vendors. I had 11 girls who needed to get their hair/makeup done. We had 2 makeup/2 hair stylists who were very experienced with doing weddings and knew exactly how much time was needed. When I asked Katrina if she would allow us to get into the barn 1-2 hours before 8 AM to start hair/makeup, she was adamantly against this and gave many reasons why we did not need that much time. This created a very stressful situation for me, my hair/makeup girls, and my family. We booked out the entire property both nights, but she did not budge at all, and did not give us reasonable solutions. Also, we couldn’t hire a 3rd makeup/hair stylist a couple months before as they are all fully booked into 2023. Lauren saved the day by setting up spots in the house and was very sympathetic with us. I have no idea where we would’ve gotten ready if we did not book out the house. This is NOT sustainable for future weddings & delayed our day-of timeline. We could not get robe pictures/have my bridesmaids watch our first look which we planned. This was disappointing to me. Also, we had to store all of our wedding decorations in the house until 8 AM. Again, not exactly sure where brides would put their decorations if they did not book out the house or cabins. Number 2- The pricing. When we first spoke with Katrina on our budget, she said we would definitely be able to be under our budget for what we wanted. However, this was not the case. I do understand it is your own responsibility to stay under your own budget, but unless you want catering from a simpler company such as Moes/food trucks with use of paper plates/plastic cutlery, and do not want to provide transportation for your guests, you will need to add several thousand dollars to your budget. Lodging was also expensive on the property. Overall, the venue is gorgeous and I will be forever grateful that we had our wedding here. Reviewed on 16-06-2022
Gabrielle Leo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-09-2021 Wolf Oak Acres is a beautiful venue and I would highly recommend it anyone who is looking to get married. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and have plenty of opportunities for great photos, from a waterfall, to a pond, a swing attached to a tree, a covered bridge and lots of wooded areas and flowers you are sure to find something to meet your needs. Katrina gave us so much of her time during our initial visit and was always willing to offer tips, suggestions and recommendations for vendors and general flow of the day. After booking we mainly dealt with the general manager Lauren, who was also fabulous. She answered all of phone calls and emails, set up multiple visits to the venue, including one to go through the enormous store room of decorations they have acquired from past weddings that you are welcome to go through and choose things for your own day. It really helps save money in the decor department. Beyond that Lauren and the venue allowed me to fulfill one of my dreams and set up my outdoor aerial rig in the woods so I could have some photos taken on my silks in my wedding dress. It was beyond special and I was so grateful. Lauren put me completely at ease, since I wasn't getting ready at the venue due to our ceremony being at a church 45 minutes away, I couldn't be there to oversee decorations and set up but Lauren and the staff took care of everything. That being said they also have lovely rooms and space for getting ready if you choose to have your ceremony onsite. The two floors, wrap around deck and large event hall downstairs really make the night flow well. There is plenty of space and you don't feel stuck in one place the whole night. Depending on the time of year they also have a fully air conditioned venue, or you can have them open the doors if you prefer. Bathrooms on both floors and an elevator are available for any guests who may require it. Our day was perfect and we can't thank Wolf Oak Acres enough. They should definitely be on your list when looking for a wedding venue! Reviewed on 20-09-2021

Samantha Warne(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2019 We had our wedding here last year and although everything worked out and we had a beautiful day I would really hesitate and think of other options if you are looking into this venue. Firstly, we had found out we were pregnant soon after putting our deposit down so I wrote to Katrina to see if we could just change our date but she said no because of the contract and in the email she contradicted herself more than a few times. I understood since we did sign the contract but the way she handled it was rude and unnecessary. If we could’ve afforded cancelling then I would’ve but we didnt have that kind of money unfortunately. Second, when we toured the barn Katrina promised us we could supply specific beer they didn’t serve (my husband works at a brewery and it was important to him) as long as it was kept behind the bar and their bartenders served it. Then when we were discussing alcohol packages (after we put down our deposit of course) we emailed her about it and she had her husband who we had literally not spoken to yet call us and tell us that we couldn’t do that. Unfortunately we didn’t have her promise in writing so there was nothing we could do. Third, the day of the wedding we mainly dealt with Russell who was nice and helpful but the one time I did see Katrina she was a totally different person than the one we first met. She was so cold and rude and didn’t even say congratulations. Lastly, I had spoken to Katrina months before about allowing my parents and a few of their friends who weren’t staying in their cabin to come to the bonfire after. She said that as long as they were off the property by midnight that was fine so my mom booked a bus for a ride after. The night of the wedding we start getting ready to go to the bonfire and Russel tells us no one is allowed who is not staying in the cabins. It was a huge issue and I ended up finding the email so he finally let us but by that point the night was ruined and the bonfire wasn’t even set up until 1130 so there was no point in having everyone go up so not only did they ruin the end of our night but my mom also spent all this money on a bus for no reason. Overall we did have a beautiful day because it was about our love and marriage and our vendors were awesome but it was nothing that Katrina and Russ did to make it special. The only thing they have is beautiful property but there are many other beautiful areas that I’m sure would treat you better. Russ even told my husband they weren’t really interested in weddings anymore and they have other business ventures like a shooting range. I really think they are just in it for the money at this point. Of course all businesses run for money but wedding businesses should be different-this is the biggest day of peoples lives and should be treated like it. Reviewed on 23-08-2020

The place looked so beautiful all decorated and the owners were extremely helpful through out the day. With it being a DIY venue, there was a little bit of chaos in the morning and Russell made sure to help whenever he could (even pinned my Dad's boutonniere on!). Having the ability to take pictures at the property really helped us on timing. Meaghan White(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2019 Wolf Oak Acres was a LIFESAVER for us. We had originally had our entire wedding planned at a different venue and after an extremely terrible experience we had to change our venue. Katrina was able to fit us into her busy schedule allowing us to tour the venue and gave us several options as far as what we could do having to completely change our wedding plans. In order to keep a Saturday event we had to change our date, which cost us 4 months of planning, but you'd have never known it because of how amazing Katrina and her husband Russell are. She was always a resource I could use for suggestions, ideas, advice, or even decorations! Yes, you read that right, they have a whole inventory of things you can use to save money on decorations! She made me feel very comfortable amongst the stress of planning a wedding the 2nd time around. And the day of our event could not have gone any better! Russell (\"the bustler\") was impeccable. He made sure our day went off without a hitch! He helped us in any way he could, and yes that includes helping with the bustling process! They were both extremely kind and very professional. The cabins on site we're also amazing. It was nice not worrying how we'd get back to a hotel after a few too many pops and they even started a campfire for us to enjoy after. He was even up on ladders with my bridesmaids setting up draping. They have to much to offer, from multiple ceremony sites to tons of decor. I spent maybe 75 on my centerpieces because all I needed to get was flowers! They know what they're doing here. Laura Bramley(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-08-2017 I can't possibly do justice to Wolf Oak Acres, having gotten married there this summer. First of all, it is simply hands-down gorgeous. Katrina and Russ have pulled out all the stops to build the perfect wedding venue. All of our guests were raving about how beautiful the place was, and personally I felt like I was getting married in the middle of a beautiful rustic fairytale. All the amenities are there, too, and in beautiful condition. The attention to each detail, inside and out, is so obvious.Secondly (and just as important to me as a long-distance bride and my mom as the chief local organiser) - Katrina and Russ are so, so, above-and-beyond-the-call helpful and knowledgeable. They always had an idea or a recommendation to volunteer when we needed advice. The cellar full of decorations was especially appreciated, since my husband and I live overseas and had very limited time to get decorations pulled together once we arrived in NY - pretty much everything we needed was there. And they were there every step of the way on the day, making sure it all went smoothly. So many things we would NEVER have thought of, that they warned us about and helped us avoid! Thanks Katrina and Russ - I am so, so glad we were able to get married at Wolf Oak Acres. Reviewed on 12-11-2017

Michele Hierholzer(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-10-2016 While this venue has the potential to be amazing, think twice before going this route. Got married at WOA a couple months ago. When we first met the owners and saw the venue we were in love. We were hoping to save a bit of money and wanted to make it our own, and Katrina made it sound like it was really easy / we would save a lot of money / she would be there to help. While we did end up having a beautiful wedding and Russel (husband - super nice and helpful) was very helpful on the day of, in reality, the whole experience was a lot different than I expected (which is something I have also heard from others I know who have gotten married there). Things you should know:The price of the venue includes a roof over your head, tables and chairs - not much else. DIY means do it yourself. This includes setting up and taking down chairs for your own ceremony (they only have 100 even though the venue holds 270) to stocking the bar (if you choose BYOB option) to setting up decorations. Katrina will give you vendor names and light guidance, but beyond that, not much additional help. You are in charge of coordinating all your vendors and coordinating with Wolf Oak. The plethora of things you need to think about gets even bigger than you could imagine. You can't get in until the morning of to set up and then you must take down everything that night. It is hard on your vendors and your catering costs will be an extra $2 - $3,ooo because of rentals (flatware, plates, cooking supplies, tent, linens - the kitchen is not commercial). Factor in extra charges for delivery of all items. Do not be fooled by the BYOB alcohol route - because of a NYS licensing issue, their bar packages are now on par with any caterer. Save yourself the headache and go through your caterer. Rehearsal can only be during the week - hard on your wedding party, esp. those traveling in from out of town. The cornfield was originally supposed to have wildflowers - but they rented it out and have no control of when they cut / what gets planted. You probably want to get a shuttle so people aren't drinking/driving to the hotels so factor in another $400 - $1000. Contrary to the website, factor 25 - 30 mins each way if staying at / near Turning Stone. The cabins on property are rented on first come basis, so in theory, you may not be able to get any for your wedding. With all of that said, we did have a wonderful day and everyone said our wedding was beautiful. Russell was great and drove the wedding party around in the bus so people wouldn't get cold while we were taking pictures. We had tons of help and our vendors were amazing. The weather held and we were able to have our ceremony outside like we always wanted. After all was said and done, the cumulative price ended up being about the same as some of the other 'all-inclusive' big sticker price venues we had looked at before booking WOA (and our flowers and linens were almost free thanks to my husband's Uncle). This venue has tons of potential. What I would suggest is they hire a true wedding coordinator to help couples and include that in the price. Stock the venue with the basics (wine/bottle openers, shakers, etc. for the bar, enough chairs so everyone can sit at an outside ceremony, a fireproof tent so one doesn't have to be rented) and invest in some basic decorations such as string lights that stay up for all weddings and an arbor people can decorate. Use your experience / couple's feedback to improve going forward. Reviewed on 11-11-2016
Kaitlyn Scicchitano(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 Katrina was helpful to myself and my husband when we were looking for a venue. She was knowledgeable about local vendors and the venue was gorgeous. However, my husband is active military and after putting down a deposit for a date, military reasons forced us to have to move our planned date forward one year. We contacted Katrina before the year mark for our date and asked if we could it move ahead one year, same date. She said she had to talk to her husband and would call us back and send us paperwork. We heard nothing back from her and when we called her back in a couple weeks, she bluntly said she couldn't move it since it was \"past the year mark\" and she now couldn't re-book our date (which she did so she actually made a profit from our nonrefundable deposit). She is has a great venue, but don't book here if you are a military couple. Reviewed on 27-06-2016
