This was the perfect venue for us! We searched for a beautiful venue with accommodations on site, and happened to stumble across Wolftrap. The farm was absolutely stunning, as well as everyone was so polite and welcoming. We held our ceremony at the Hilltop ceremony site with our reception in the Cox Mill Pavilion. The ceremony site was gorgeous, words cannot describe how beautiful it all ended up being. The pavilion was set up nicely, and the perfect space for our guests to enjoy the views, horses and firepit. We had a chunk of our families staying in various lodgings around the farm, and all reported back that the accommodations were well kept, comfy and plenty of space for everyone. It was so convenient to have people staying at the venue, and allowing us to enjoy the farm the whole weekend. This was the perfect wedding experience for us, we could not have asked for a better day. Reviewed on 24-09-2023
Regis Venti(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2022 This was the perfect venue for us. We rented out the Black Meadow Pavilion (along with basically every house on the farm) and it was a magical wedding weekend. The view of the Blue Ridge Mountains (or whatever mountain range that is) from the lawn of the Manor House is breathtaking, the deck of the Black Meadow Pavilion offers the same amazing landscape. We loved the DIY aspect of the venue that gave us the freedom to really personalize the day. Having the wedding party all in the same location as the wedding ceremony and the reception was fantastic. The Manor House was the perfect place for the bride and bridesmaids to prepare for the ceremony while Baldy's Retreat was great for the groom and the groomsmen. We had cocktail hour on the lawn behind the Manor house and our guests were given permission to feed the beautiful and friendly horses (we provided several baskets of carrots and apples). It was a huge hit for everyone. Set up was a little difficult on our own with arranging chairs on the lawn then moving them to the reception pavilion but we were well prepared. The sun setting directly into the pavilion was perfect for our first dance while the lighting in the pavilion offered an intimate setting for a wonderful reception. Thank you for the perfect wedding day, er, weekend! Reviewed on 27-11-2022
Glenna Miller(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-08-2020 Everything about this venue is fantastic! We had the Cox mill pavilion and it was amazing! i loved that we had the venue from Friday to Sunday which was great! We did not feel rushed at all. They are great at communication especially in 2020 with covid and needing to move the date. It was great having all the open space. The guests loved the venues atmosphere and charm. The guest house to get ready is small but suoer beautiful, perfect to get ready and very comfortable and clean. Reviewed on 01-10-2020

Caitlin McGonnigal(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-10-2019 My husband and I wanted an outdoor wedding venue that was scenic, rustic, and with accommodations for our family and friends -- we are SO happy we found Wolftrap Farm! The ceremony location is gorgeous, can't go wrong in any season, and the Black Meadow Pavilion is lovely. It is clean & fresh but still rustic in style, with good lighting, temperature control (although it is partially open to the outdoors so albeit imperfect), and newly added cute twinkle lights! The venue is very DIY, you take over the venue a day before your wedding (ours was on a Saturday) and you get to make it however you'd like. We REALLY loved that about the venue since our wedding felt like us, and not cookie-cutter in nature. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. I planned our wedding from afar and I found Keith, but Tina especially, to be very responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. In the final weeks/days and throughout the wedding weekend I was shooting Tina texts and she was so responsive and helpful and never acted like I was bothering her, even though I probably was :)Our close family & friends loved staying on-site and it made for such a love-filled weekend having our closest people with us the whole weekend. Most of the houses are a bit older, I think one is recently refinished, but they are clean and very nice. The Manor House, where myself and the bridal party stayed, is simply beautiful with a perfect upstairs suite that includes a small kitchen -- perfect for the getting ready time the day-of!We loved Wolftrap Farm and can't speak highly enough of Tina! Jimmy Barnett(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2019 My husband and I got married on May 18, 2019, in a perfect ceremony next to the pond, followed by a perfect reception at Black Meadow Pavilion. It was honestly everything we hoped it would be. Our family and close friends stayed at 5 of the houses for the weekend. We grilled out for our rehearsal dinner, the groom got ready in the servants cottage and the bride in the mother-in-law suite in the Manor House. We did a first look in front of the Manor house and our wedding behind the Pond House. This venue was everything we had dreamed of, and we were able to enjoy a few days afterward of fishing and exploring some of the trails through the woods. Part of what makes the venue so wonderful is the team that runs it. Keith and Tina were supportive and responsive from the first time we visited up until the days after the wedding. The farm crew was just as friendly as Keith and Tina and it made the whole experience feel like home. We not only got married here, but have also been there a handful of times to \"get away\". We would recommend it as a weekend getaway, a place for a family vacation, or a wedding venue. We plan to visit at least once a year. :) Reviewed on 30-05-2019
Hannah Cooper(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-03-2019 We had a perfect weekend at the farm. We got married in late March (with a 30% discount!) and the weather was lovely. We use the old pavilion for our rehearsal dinner, the Manor House lawn for our ceremony and the new pavilion for the reception. We loved having the whole thing in one place- it cut down on stress and let us enjoy our time with our family and friends. The whole weekend was truly magical. Tina was very easy to work with before and during the wedding weekend. The business office did end up charging the wrong credit card (one we had on file but were not trying to pay with) but that was not a big deal in the end and the biggest snafu of the weekend so could have been worse. The houses were super comfortable and the Manor House looks awesome in our photos. It was super fun that we got to all hang out until late in the night after the wedding and we even went fishing at 4 am (but didn't catch anything). There were a few unexpected costs- we ended up renting a bathroom trailer since there are only 3 toilets and we had 180 guests plus all the vendors. It worked out perfectly. We also would have needed it pay extra to get our tent removed on a Sunday if the bride who rented the pavilion after us hadn't wanted to use it. We ended up renting chairs because I did not like the look of the white chairs. And, they built the second pavilion after we booked so we had to pay more to use it. Plus we go buses for folks staying in town. Just something to think about before you book. But, if I could do it all again, I would not change a thing. I loved it. Reviewed on 12-04-2019
Melinda Renfroe(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-04-2018 Wolf Trap Farm was a dream come true! Planning our wedding the importance of mountains, and horses were a must. Both were very significant to our lives, and our love story. Wolf Trap Farm was a breeze to work with. They reply in a timely manner, and allow you to make payments. The contract is very black and white, and makes it that much easier to abide by. The \"bride\" closet saved my life! They had so many great things to add to what we already had. To pay it forward to the next bride who may also need to use it, we left everything we brought. The pavilion for the reception has lights hung, a stage and dance floor already set up. I feel like we made a great decision using this venue and will recommend it to other couples in the future! Reviewed on 30-04-2018
Molly Patrician(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-07-2017 Wolf Trap Farm was the setting of our incredible wedding on July 15th, 2017. It is a very DIY venue, but if you have the family and friends to make that happen, it is SO worth it! Our day was perfect, complete with a beautiful sunset and amazing views. Tina, Keith, and the farm staff made our stay very easy and were always around if there were issues. Our favorite part of the farm was that we, along with our bridal party and some friends and family, could stay on the property, so we were all able to enjoy a long weekend together on the farm. We are SO happy we chose Wolf Trap Farm as our wedding venue, and can't wait to return some day to relive the amazing day! Reviewed on 04-08-2017
Keith & Deborah purchased Wolftrap Farm in 2003 as a truly run-down fixer-upper. It is now a showplace. Keith is a retired business lawyer and Deborah has retired from property management. They have three adult children and six grandchildren. They live in Virginia Beach, but spend 10-15% of their time at Wolftrap Farm. Keith handles all the bookings for the farm.
