Juliette Quintana(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2023 How can I explain how perfect this venue was? At first I was very hesitant to book this venue due to feeling it was surrounded by a street and the possibility of cars during the ceremony. But let me tell you how wrong I was. I mentioned the next day to my family, I did not even notice the cars. They even forgot the cars were driving on the street as well. Not one single guest even mentioned it because you can’t tell the cars driving near by! When you enter the venue, it’s a whole different world. Our ceremony was outside, and we were completely secluded and sucked into the beauty of the venue. Let’s touch base on how amazing Leslie and Akua were! They helped this wedding go flawlessly. Akua actually ended up being a bartender the day off. It was refreshing to see her being our bartender the day of. Leslie was available at any time. She helped to make sure that the wedding went smoothly with the help of my wedding coordinator as well. She was such an asset. I really loved being able to plan a wedding with them. We have planned this wedding in about two months and enjoyed every minute of it. This venue is smaller than others in Miami, which makes it so special. We had about 84 guests and it was a perfect number. Everyone was raving about the venue and the location. This is the place to be! Reviewed on 27-03-2023

Adriana Mangual(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-05-2022 The Woman's Club of Coconut Grove is like an all-inclusive resort for weddings! Their packages take care of everything. I never had to get my own vendors unless I wanted to which was a huge plus for a busy bride like me. The food was tasty and yes, I did eat! Their package has vendors they recommend, we chose Edda cakes and I have about half my cake in my freezer right now because it was so delicious. We chose Yamir as our florist and she delivered my vision exactly. I wanted a cigar roller and Silvia already had contact. Soo easy! Leslie and Silvia were excellent and professional. Silvia responds so quickly and takes care of you. All my family and friends were amazed at how organized our wedding was. You read that right! ORGANIZED. Everything went so smoothly that people didn't want to leave. My husband was shocked at how much fun he could have at his wedding. I've read horror stories about weddings, but the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove just isn't one of those places. I can't wait to plan a baby shower there in a few years just to plan with Silvia again. Leslie was so organized and helpful from Day 1, working with our budget and specific questions while also offering wonderful advice on how to make it a great event for everyone. Leslie welcomed us and our family and we immediately loved that she was open to all of our ideas. She answered every question and we appreciated all of her suggestions. Leading up to our big day she was so helpful in coordinating our vendors. Having the dj, cake, food and flowers arranged through the venue was the best! We couldn’t be happier with all of them. Our DJ, Adrian was incredible and had our guests dancing from the beginning to the end. Avant Gardens provided the most beautiful flowers. The food was incredible- truly like dining at a restaurant. And our cake was one of the most talked about aspects of our wedding! White the building itself is beautiful, the owner, Leslie, is hard to work with. I was lucky enough to have Amanda as my planner who is no longer with the venue. If it weren't for her I would not have gone through with having my wedding here as Leslie was unorganized and made the experience very frustrating whenever I did have to communicate with her, but Amanda was a lifesaver. The venue is small outside, but comfortably sat my 70 guests and there was plenty of room inside for our reception. Again, my advice would be to use a planner (check out That One Little Detail) if you're going to have your wedding here. The owner will do as little as possible from their end once you sign your contract so your best interest is to have a planner that knows the business and how to help you get around her constantly trying to get more money/lack of effort. All that being said it was the perfect location for my out of state wedding, and I'm glad we ended up booking here. Reviewed on 01-12-2018

Kathryn Doucette(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-02-2018 Wow. There are no words for how amazing my experience was at the Womans Club for hosting my wedding. Amanda was the most calming person to work with, and she was with me from start to end. She acted as my day of coordinator and worked with me plenty of times up until my wedding. Included in my venue was the bar, food, DJ and all decor. I provided my own hair, photographer, cake and floral. If you want a beautiful Miami wedding, and you do not want to break the bank... I HIGHLY recommend coming here. I would not change a thing. My biggest recommendation is to get Amanda as your point of contact. My experience with Leslie was much less than desired, and I definitely felt a stronger connection to Amanda. Amanda is very attentive, kind and is very detail oriented. Danielle Hayward(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-05-2017 We had an amazing wedding at the Women’s Club of Coconut Grove in May of 2017. This venue had the intimate, rustic and romantic setting we wanted. Our Event Coordinator, Amanda, was wonderful to work with from start to finish. This is the perfect venue for couples that don’t want to hire a wedding planner but want to keep planning as simple as possible. We selected one of their packages and made a few modifications so it fit our budget and needs. The package included catering/bar from their in-house caterer and a floral budget, cake and DJ from your choice of 2 preferred vendors in each category (I believe you can choose your own if you want though). All of the vendors we chose from the package were fantastic! Because they frequently work with the Woman’s Club, I did not have to give them a ton of direction, manage paperwork or deal with payments. This meant I only needed to find and manage a photographer and officiant to have all of the wedding essentials covered. The venue also handled linen, table and chair rentals, and the ones included in the package we chose were very nice! Amanda was very helpful in making recommendations and suggestions for layout, lighting and linens that brought our vision to life.On the day of the wedding, Amanda performed all of the duties that would typically be assigned to a day-of coordinator. For me, this was the best part of booking with the Woman’s Club. I’ve recently been to a number of weddings where the venue was hands off and the bridal party/family was responsible for set up, tear down and day-of event management. Amanda and her team handled everything the day of the wedding: (perfect) set up and tear down the decorations we brought, directing the ceremony, managing the vendors, keeping the event moving according to our timeline, and I’m sure a million other little details that we didn’t even notice cause everything went so smoothly! It was wonderful to have everything taken care of so we could relax and enjoy the day with our closest friends and family.Another pro is the great location. If you are going to have a lot of out-of-town guests, it’s ideal as there are 2 hotels next door and many more within half a mile. All of our out-of-town guests appreciated how convenient it was to get to the venue and mentioned how much they loved the walkable neighborhood. Additionally, we were able to save money on limo/bus transportation for the bridal party by getting ready in one of the adjacent hotels and walking over. I really can’t recommend this venue enough. Thanks for making our wedding so special!A few random notes:-\t They flawlessly accommodated guest dietary restrictions/concerns, including Celiac, nut allergies and vegans.-\tWe had 80 people at our wedding and the room felt FULL. We invited 118, and if everyone RSVP'd yes I don’t think the reception would have been as comfortable.-\tWe had our ceremony outside on the lawn on a Saturday afternoon, and there was some ambient noise from passing traffic and the hotel pool next door. No big deal for us, but something to think about it if you want a very quiet/secluded ceremony. Reviewed on 05-06-2017

I instantly fell in love. And truth be told, this venue is extremely affordable! I looked at plenty of other venues in this one had the best price and the best bargain for your price. I would definitely recommend the all-inclusive package. This venue was very flexible with us bringing our own alcohol and they allowed us to pick and choose things to take out of our package that we felt we could provide ourselves. The historic feel within this venue and the vintage touches are truly one-of-a-kind. The hardwood floors, wooden ceiling rafters in vintage chandeliers set the perfect romantic tone for my intimate hundred person wedding. As for the wedding coordinator, Amanda, just wow! She is the real MVP! I had been coordinating with her for over a year on how to make my special day perfect, and she certainly did not disappoint! She responded quickly to every email I sent and had more than enough patience with me throughout this entire process. I would recommend her to everyone I know! It is mainly because of her why I had such a stress free experience when planning this wedding. She was my ultimate go to and for that I will be forever grateful. The caterer that this venue works with was outstanding as well! They were very professional throughout my cocktail hour and reception. So as we were walking to our car, around the corner, we saw a sign on the lawn of the Women's Club that said they did events. I was so happy to learn that they offered a \"ceremony only\" package. You can use the facility for 3 hours (including set up and clean up) for your ceremony and includes very nice white folding chairs that the club will set up. It was just perfect for what we needed. It was really the one thing I didn't have to worry about on my day. Judi and Leslie were always so helpful and accommodating to a nervous DIY bride. I signed the contract, paid the deposit and followed their payment schedule without a hiccup. The security deposit was returned to us just as stated on the agreement. We held our rehearsal for the ceremony on a Friday evening and Judi was right there with me taking notes to make sure everything was going to run smooth on our big day. And everything did! Our day was perfect. We held our ceremony on the lawn. Plan B is to have everything set up inside which is gorgeous too! At one point I just wanted everything inside because I just loved it in there. But for our \"garden spring theme\" wedding, we chose to get married outdoors between two trees with the historic house behind us. The weather was perfect. The lawn was shaded from the trees and it was not hot that time of day. We got married at 10 am and I had about 100 guests. So do your research on weather and events in Coconut Grove if you're going to have it outdoors. The inside is a beautiful option as well. I stayed at the mutiny hotel and walked right over. I didn't need to rent a car. I just walked right over and got married. You will have some noise from cars driving by but Sunday is not a heavy traffic day. It actually worked out perfect as we kissed after being pronounced husband and wife, cars honked as they passed! And we had a wireless speaker for our officiant and a string trio playing accoustically. They provided tables for us to use and we provided the linens. We had our florist decorate the railing of the entrance with a garland which looked so beautiful. The greenery and trees in our pictures looked amazing. All my guests raved on how lovely the location was. They also reserved spots for guests at a parking garage nearby and offer parking validation. Thank you Judi and team for making our day more than perfect! I highly recommend! Reviewed on 31-05-2015

Summary:\rEvent fine. Staff/administration (Leslie/Rudy) terrible. Venue is nice but BEWARE… if you have any issues with them it is going to be very difficult to communicate and work with them. Poor customer service. Also: 1) make sure you do your OWN research on the date of the event if you want an outdoor event as their knowledge of local festivals (that may interfere with an outdoor wedding) is poor. 2) the whole process of receiving the refund check has been incredibly frustrating with nothing but hostility and lack of communication from Leslie and the staff at the Women’s Club. \r\rDetails:\rI am the brother of the bride and paid for the wedding. After the wedding, I asked that the check for the return of the damage deposit be made out to me and sent to my house, I also sent an email and so did my sister (the bride) with my address. \rMany unanswered/unreturned phone calls and emails that were promised but never sent later, I discovered that the check had been sent to my sister’s old address (she had already moved). It was another uphill struggle to get Leslie to agree to cancel that check and issue a new one. At which point she called me and stated that they had the check but that is was made out to my sister. Even though they agreed to do so before they then refused to make it out to me. My sister has moved to Texas, and I paid for the wedding. Yet they refuse to give me the refund deposit even with her consent.\rIn addition, my sister wanted to have an outdoor wedding and the date was checked against the Coconut Grove Events Calendar, and a date was picked with allegedly no conflicts according to Leslie. Lo and behold my mother and I happened to pick up a random newspaper the week before that was advertising the outdoor Beer Festival directly across the street from the Club. So no outdoor wedding, Leslie claimed that the park had not sent her the details, but come on, that is her job to research the dates.\r Reviewed on 31-03-2015

I didn't hire a wedding planner or a florist in an attempt to save some money, but as the date approached became worried of how things would come together. Anonymous (bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-12-2014 This venue is a beautiful place. Parking is difficult because is in a busy area of Miami (touristy). Its important to tell your guests not to run too late. You will have to pay for everything, they only provide tables. You will pay for chairs, any special lights, lights in the chimney, lights outside etc. At first I was having issues with the staff because they only give you an 8 hr window for everything- set up, party and clean up. I believe the owner is the one that is the most difficult an non accommodating but I worked with Judi who was very nice and helped alot. Since I did everything myself she allowed me to do some of my set up the day before which was a life saver. The rest the Vendors along with my Aunt helped set up the day off the event. It really is a beautiful place to get married in. I would only change their whole 8 hr ridiculousness and just rent the day of the event out. And I would also be a little cheaper on their packages because coconut grove event prices are too expensive, if they were more reasonable I would've done everything through them instead of having all the different vendors. The Woman's Club of Coconut Grove was on my top 5 to visit and was actually the last one we saw since we had to schedule an appointment on a date they were available and so were we. We saw it and said yes. Didn't even need to think about it... it was instant. We knew this is what we wanted for our special day. We used their chef and baker as well. Everyone was pleased with everything. Food was amazing and the cake and sweets were out of this world. We also used their florist who made our day even more than what we ever wished for. The whole team was a pleasure to work with... always very helpful and attending to all of our needs. There's not really anything we can complain about because it was all perfect. The location is perfect too.. half of our guests were from out of town and they enjoyed CocoWalk and the water and just the whole vibe to The Grove. Our guests stayed at the Mutiny Hotel next door which is where my family and I stayed at as well so it was nice to hang out by the pool and drink some mimosas before going up to my bedroom to get ready. Bonnie Phillips(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-11-2014 We had our wedding reception at the Woman's Club. Initially we were working with Tim, who was not pleasant to work with - but don't worry, he doesn't work for the Club anymore. Leslie took over, and she was lovely to work with. The Woman's Club is beautiful inside and out, and has been recently renovated. It is well situated in Coconut Grove. We decided not to have the vendors that they provide (we thought we could get better value for the amount of money they were charging), and thus were charged an additional fee per person to bring in an outside vendor. I found it to be annoying that they only had 2 vendors to choose from, and if you don't want either of those, then you have to pay an additional fee per person. Brides beware, read the very fine print of your contracts. Apparently, somewhere in there - when you bring in an outside vendor, you are not allowed up-lighting. Why? Who knows- its crazy! I found that out on the wedding night, and needless to say, I wasn't happy. We had paid money for uplighting and it wasn't used. The only lighting we had was from the candles from our candle package (which is another upgrade $). My advice to other brides is that it's a beautiful, intimate (small) space, but if you want value for money- I would suggest another venue. Reviewed on 02-01-2015
Kate Samuels(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-11-2013 I got married here just over 6 months ago, and had such a great experience! From the very beginning, Coconut Grove Events (the group that handles events at the Woman's Club) was very thorough and helpful with the process. It is a relatively small venue, but beautiful inside and out. I think I had about 90 guests and we did have some space to spare.\r\rI had been planning on having the ceremony outside, and the reception inside, but it ended up raining that day. The ceremony was set up outside when I arrived, and looked great, but it started drizzling as I was arriving. The on-site CGE staff was awesome and helped convert the inside (which had already been set up with tables etc for reception) for the ceremony. This part may have been difficult if we had had more guests, but it worked out perfectly, and a lot of my guests said that they would have never known we were originally planning on having the ceremony outside, had they not seen the chairs set up on the lawn on the way in. They really pulled everything together quickly and beautifully. Now, the only part that can be considered a down-side to this, is that the dressing area they provide has its entrance from the reception room area, so I had to hide out in the bathroom while guests arrived...I know that sounds bad, but the bathroom is actually very cute, and I just hung out in there with my mom being silly while we waited, and ended up having a great time laughing with her. (and yes, there was another bathroom available for guests to use during this time). If you're the type that would completely freak out over a semi-large change of plans due to weather, you may want to rent a tent in case of rain. But for me, I thought it worked out perfectly, and everyone had a great time. And it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day :-)\r\rI went through the venue for food, and chose Bill Hansen as my caterer - the food was delicious!(they do have another less expensive option - i did not get to try their food) I did have an issue with the vegetarian option...I was supposed to have a full veggie option, available to all guests, but last minute I was made aware that it was only a few separately plated meals for the vegetarian guests. This was not CGE's fault though, and they handled it well.\r\rI had them add a few lighting options (exterior and interior up-lighting, candles in the fireplace), which turned out beautifully! I wasn't planning on doing the interior up-lighting at first, but it really did add to the ambiance. (yes, you do have to pay extra to have lighting in the fireplace, which at first seemed annoying. But it's a historic building, so there are a lot of restrictions - so if you want candles in there, you have to have them do it for you, and pay for it - it was worth it though!)\r\rThe cost for the venue did go up just after I booked, but even with the price increase, it would totally be worth it! Still one of the less expensive venues in town.\r\rOverall, I was extremely happy with the venue and with the team that helps coordinate. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! You even get a brick engraved and added to their sidewalk with your name in honor of your day. However, this is where it gets tricky. The brochure lists the rental price for just under $2k, that which includes tables and basic chairs. It's not until you decide to rent the place that they tell you that parking isn't included (additional $5 pp). Also, they try to convince you to use their partners for an all-inclusive catering and decor ($$$$$$). We decided to use our own caterer and rented our own bar and bartender which came out way cheaper. However, there was a fee for using an outside caterer...a whopping $8 per person. We also decided to use our own person (Designs by Vivian Colls) to do our flower arrangements and decor which also was affordable. Now, I'm not sure if the manager had a problem with the fact that we didn't use their partner vendors or what but we had a problem with their service! Apparently, the person who we signed our contract with quit and when she did she never left any notes...We found that out when I called to ask questions. So there on forward, we were in contact with the manager Leslie. She was nice, but not thorough enough for a customer that is spending over $5k (including deposit). Once Leslie took over our account, we communicated via email, over the phone and by meetings. It wasn't until 2 weeks before our wedding when I went to hand deliver our \"final\" payment that she had discovered that she forgot to add a charge for our up lighting (additional $750 + $250 service charge). Prior to me driving over, I spoke to Leslie and she suggested for me to come to the WC at 2pm. I arrived approx 5 mins after and rang the doorbell, knocked on the door, called the office repeatedly in the rain and she never came to the door. Any other time I've called I've been able to reach a VM after 5 or so rings, but not in this case. So after waiting about 10 mins, I decided to leave our check in the mailbox and send her an email so that she can notified and so that she may confirm. Two and half hours later, I get an email confirming that she received our check and that she had forgotten to add the costs of the up lights and service charge to use the lights that if we still wanted it that payment was due within the next 5 business days. Imagine as a bride having to scrape up over an extra $1k just because she \"forgot\" to add it. At that point I was not happy and did not want to deal with Leslie at this point and had feelings of regret. Overall our wedding turned out beautiful and were glad that we chose the women's club. Gennyva Araque(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-04-2013 This was the first and last wedding reception venue that we visited while searching for the special spot to have our intimate and romantic reception. Leslie and her staff were professional, responsive, accommodating and most importantly – friendly. They allowed us to carry out our vision of a Cuban chic wedding in their beautiful historic venue without a hiccup. Cigar roller? No problem. Paella for dinner? No problem. Food truck at the end of the night? NO PROBLEM. The point is that we were able to have our dream, intimate, non “cookie cutter” wedding on a budget without any problems at all with the help of Leslie and her team. If you don't want a typical hotel Miami wedding and are looking for something different, intimate, romantic and unforgettable... I would recommend this venue a thousand times over. Sharlene G(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-04-2012 We spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect venue that would be unique, elegant, special and cozy - not your typical ballroom. We LOVED this venue, as did our guests. It's not easy to find a historical building in Miami. The Woman's Club is cozy and beautiful in its simplicity. Leslie Rowe and her team were very professional and helped make the event run smoothly. They provided the venue, draping on the ceiling (which was key), lighting throughout and the parking attendant. The draping and lighting were crucial to set the mood. The venue is beautiful, but it needs some touches to make it stand out a bit more... and on 'value' I put 4 stars only because the \"touches\" each cost quite a bit. It's important to be conscious of the fact that the venue rental fee is one thing, but you'd have to add all the extras (which can really add up). We brought an outside wedding planning/catering company/florist, but Leslie Rowe did offer a great and competitive package. I'd do it here again in a heartbeat.. I'm still in love with \"our\" special venue. \rSide note: We had ~115 guests, which was a perfect number for the venue. I'm sure it would fit more, but I wouldn't go over 120/130 because it would take away dancing space. Reviewed on 18-06-2012
