Blakely W(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-04-2022 The Wyndham exceeded our expectations, largely due to one of their amazing vendor managers, Jenna! She was amazing from our first meeting. She answered any and all questions and wasn't afraid to track down the answer for us if it was something she wasn't sure about. We wanted to have our wedding in their restaurant and they went above and beyond to transform the restaurant to exactly what we wanted to provide a space for a dance floor and all of the other tables we needed set up. The food was delicious and the bartender was amazing. Overall we are so happy we chose the Wyndham for our wedding! If you visit there be sure to ask for Jenna! Reviewed on 23-04-2022
Melinda Hopper(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-04-2021 The venue was beautiful. The front desk staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The banquet staff and banquet manager were amazing and truly helped us to pull off everything perfectly. However, due to COVID, they no longer have an actual wedding coordinator. This means that those responsibilities fall to their catering director. She is way too overwhelmed to make you a priority. Every communication I had with her fell on deaf ears. I felt like I often had to repeat things and ask questions multiple times. We would discuss something and then a month later, she would ask me about it like we'd never mentioned it. My wedding ended up being beautiful and coming out fine, but the lead up and communication was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Also, the rooms were also super rough. Not one of my guests that stayed the night got any sleep because the beds were so uncomfortable. Until they are able to hire an actual wedding coordinator, I would pass on this venue. Katrina Aducci(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-06-2020 The Wyndham was our top choice for our wedding venue until we experience such poor service. The wedding coordinator was very unprofessional and non-responsive, didn't attend our scheduled meeting to tour the venue (sending someone in her place to give us the tour). I will say the women who gave us the tour does the room blocking for the hotel and was responsive when I went back to visit the hotel (as the wedding coordinator again wouldn't meet me) and was quick to answer all of our questions. If we could have worked with the room blocking woman, we would have picked this as our wedding venue but were scared off by how poor the service was in worry that our wedding would be a trainwreck. There's so many additional venues at the oceanfront and throughout Virginia Beach, try anywhere else first. Reviewed on 04-09-2019
Kelsey Allen(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-08-2018 I have very mixed feelings on my choice for this venue. It was the most beautiful choice I could have made for my ceremony and reception. The outside patio was amazing, the inside reception was perfect, and all of my guests loved it. The banquet staff were so friendly. However, the treatment I received from my contact at the hotel was not at all worth the $10,000 I paid.I was told more than once by the hotel contact, Shannon, when I asked for her assistance, \"well that's not really my job\". Now, after my wedding is over, I am still left wondering exactly what her job is, considering I didn't even see her on the day of my wedding until I was walking down the aisle. Overall, I felt I paid a lot of money to be treated like I was an inconvenience to the \"wedding specialist\". Reviewed on 15-08-2018
Rachel Gosciej(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-05-2017 I have somewhat mixed feelings about my experience with the Wyndham for my wedding. I will say this: overall, my wedding was lovely, I have great memories, the food was good, and everyone had a great time. I was a bit disappointed because of the weather, and we had to move our ceremony inside, but the indoor space the Wyndham provided was lovely. It was in our price range, and it was a great day. However, I will say, some parts of the planning process felt like I was trying to pull teeth, and like I wasn't being listened to. In the end, we did get everything we wanted at the right price, but we definitely had to stand our ground and be firm on a few things.Overall, I'll say it's a beautiful venue and a good option. Just be prepared to have to negotiate. Reviewed on 26-05-2017

Susan Jarrell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-10-2014 It was wonderful! The Banquet Captain, Brendan (I believe), was right there for me the entire morning. He gave me whatever I needed/asked for, even before I asked. He was super polite, and I am thankful he was there. \rJane Wrenn was my main contact for date and payment, she was there that morning as well. Very nice, very pleasant.\rIt was a beautiful day (perfect weather) to have our wedding on the patio of Wyndham hotel with the beach as our backdrop. You didn't need anything more! Loved that it was early with brunch provided, small with 20 people - PERFECT! Reviewed on 12-11-2014
Melissa Brown(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-06-2014 We had our wedding ceremony on the back patio of the Wyndham and it provided the perfect setting for a beach wedding! It is the only venue in VA Beach that allows you to have a beach wedding without your guests having to get their feet dirty in the sand. We also had our reception in the Atlantic Ballroom, which was beautiful. Jane, the Wyndham's wedding coordinator, was so amazing from the first day we met her to the day of our wedding. She must have answered 100 emails from me and was always incredibly helpful and positive. The other staff at the Wyndham were great as well. All our guests raved about the food and the bar service. If you're looking for a venue in Virginia Beach, you won't be disappointed with the Wyndham! Reviewed on 24-08-2014

Liz Holladay(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-05-2013 We had our wedding in the Surf Club resturant over looking the water! This venue is one of the only TRUE ocean view venues that offers a very extensive menu and a great culinary team! Unfortunatly, this was the last season for weddings in their beautiful resturant which we both think is a terrible idea! The food was amazing, as well as the staff ! Unfortunatly, our wedding ceremony was suppose to be on their patio but due to weather- last minute we had to change! The patio would have been a great area to get married on and to have a \"cocktail hour.\" Best wishes to the future bride and grooms! Reviewed on 21-05-2013
mrs s(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2012 I did enjoy the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We stayed in a suite and it was nice, but small, compared to other suites we have stayed in. I liked how they offered the wedding package, however the price was crazy expensive. I planned the wedding myself, so paying a few extra thousand just for a reception was not happening. The staff was really friendly, although we had drove 4 hours with 3 kids and couldn't check in as promised. I loved the oceanfront view! If the price is right, I would stay here again. Alisa Vogel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-06-2010 We are from out of town and all of my wedding guests stayed here for the weekend. We got an excellent group rate and the rooms were awesome. The suites are even better -- they're huge! Some of my guests got first-floor rooms that had a sliding glass door which opened right onto the patio overlooking the ocean. It was excellent that we could just sit out right in front of the beach. And even better that we could walk down the patio stairs right onto the sand! The staff was very accomodating and held onto \"welcome bags\" to be given to each guest as they checked in. Definitely loved this hotel and if I ever visit VA Beach again, this will be the place I stay!! Reviewed on 11-08-2010
Rebecca O'Neal(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-05-2010 We were married outside on the patio. It was HOT but it was perfect-the food was top notch-the staff from the front desk to the wait staff and bartender were hands down the greatest! I could not have had the experience I did if it weren't for Jane Wren. She will make sure everything is covered and is exactly as you want! From the first time we came to look at it right down to the day of the wedding, she was right there and extremely helpful!! Reviewed on 09-08-2010
Rhoda Farris(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-10-2008 The Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront is spectacular. Located in a residential area of the beach it is more secluded than the other hotels on the boardwalk. It's practically like having your own private beach. The location directly on the beach is stunning - we were to have our ceremony and cocktail hour on the outdoor patio overlooking the ocean but wind prevented us from doing so. However it is breathtaking locale and we still had pictures done out there. We moved in to the foyer outside the Atlantic Ballroom for the ceremony and cocktail hour which is extremely elegant and beautiful. We had a fairly large wedding approximately 170 guests but the area was the perfect size for the guests and the steel drum band we had. There were chairs for each guest during the ceremony and these were immediately removed to allow plenty of space for the cocktail hour. The reception was held inside the Atlantic Ballroom which was stunning. We decided to do a buffet so had two lines and the food was spectacular! It was the best food we've ever eaten at a wedding (entrees included chicken prime rib of beef carved crab cakes and seafood lasagna (very highly recommended)). And the staff was amazing. From the beginning I worked with Ms. Jane Wrenn who was phenomenal. She always responded to my emails and phone calls quickly (believe me there were many) and she was a wonderful calming presence leading up to and on the day of the wedding. The catering staff including Michelle (last name unknown head of staff that evening) and Monica Branch were fabulous. They made sure my new husband and I did not have to wait for anything and really helped make our night even more special. The front desk staff the bartenders the spectacular restaurant - I can't say enough fabulous things about it. And we didn't have to spend a huge fortune to get such fabulous service and accomodations. Speaking of the accomodations many of the guest rooms are oceanfront and the remaining are oceanview. I had a large two-room suite complete with two balconies one of the oceanview rooms. It was perfect for pre-wedding preparation and getting ready with my bridal party. I had numerous friends and family in the room along with hair and makeup girls and we had plenty of room. I can not find one fault with the Wyndham and highly recommend it. Reviewed on 13-11-2008
