Brandee B(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-07-2018 I LOVED MY WEDDING AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE! From the moment I arrived we were greeted warmly and with a professionalism that was refreshing after visiting other venues. The communication with Nicolette was always fast and easy from the first inquiry. the package they offer was so inclusive and I didn't stress about any per person fees as it was all included. I didn't even have to pre-buy wine like so many other wineries require as it was only based on what my wedding used. They do have rules about using the Inn but that seemed obvious and one reason we chose the spot so we didn't have to drive and our family and friends could stay the night. The rules about kids seemed odd (if you have a group of kids, they have to be supervised) but once they explained why it seemed like even the little details were given the attention they deserved and in the end the kids had a great time because of it. They had a preferred caterer, Willabys, that we decided to use but I could have had any caterer of my choice which I loved. They helped, even when other vendors didn't do what they were suppose to do, and it that all came together. The venue as exactly as I wanted and they made things all work out even the last minute things that seemed big but were handled with grace and kindness. The rooms were fantastic and we had everything we needed. Everyone working from the Innkeeper to the bartenders and even the girl (I think it was one of the family daughters) cleaning the next day were happy and I kept getting comments from all my family and friends about how amazing it all was and they didn't have any of the background of all the emails and details that were involved. The final email from Nicolette after the wedding accounted for everything and was accurate and we received our damage deposit back in 10 days. I am so happy at how everything and all the pieces worked out and would recommend them to everyone! Reviewed on 24-10-2018
Luisa Gallagher(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-05-2020 Youngberg Hill Events has a beautiful venue, but please don't take the risk. We scheduled an event there, and from the beginning there were red flags that the owners were not going to be pleasant to deal with. I ended up having my then-fiance contact them as it was adding more stress to my life. The event ended up being cancelled with Covid and our $4,900 deposit gone. We took them to court and they were ordered to pay us back but they refuse to do so. I can't believe they would take this stance as its legally required-but there you have it. I am saying this in order to save folks from dealing with these owners. Its just a big risk and I would never choose to deal with them again. Reviewed on 05-10-2021
Tamia Dargis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-08-2021 My fiance and I have had a wonderful experience working with every staff member at Youngberg Hill leading up to our wedding day, as well as after. We were nervous about the negative reviews we read online, but all of the issues we saw were not applicable to us and we had zero issues with the owners Nicolette and Wayne. We have interacted with them numerous times (at mimosa Sunday events, staycations at the inn, live music nights, etc.) and have walked away feeling great about our decision to get married at Youngberg and are happy we frequent there often. We only wanted wine and beer served at our wedding due to A) It being a winery and B) Us wanting our wedding to be a family friendly environment/event. So we can't speak on any experience with outside alcohol or bar request. We went with their preferred caterer, Willaby's and they were exceptional as well. We were not over charged, over promised, or under valued in any way shape or form during our planning process, wedding, or final invoice review. This was absolutely the perfect place for our wedding- all of our guests shared how incredible the venue was and outstanding the food and drinks were. The kids loved the grass area and swing to lay and play during the event. Really, the only negative comment I can make would be that our floor plan/layout left us with a small dance floor area on the patio and there wasn't room for everyone at one time. But it was plenty big enough to make work and realistically there was only one song that got everyone up and out on the floor anyway. Reviewed on 25-08-2021

Emily Falkenstein(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2018 What a gorgeous setting! Youngberg Hill gave us the outdoors feeling we wanted for our reception while also providing the amenities of their beautiful event space. Nicolette was easy to communicate with and responded to our questions quickly. The view reminded me of Tuscany. Our guests were able to spend time outside at the beginning of the event while staying warm inside for dinner. We had about 7 children around the age of 4 and were so glad that Nicolette recommended Jordan as a \"sitter\" to attend to the kids. The parents were able to enjoy themselves while Jordan entertained the kids with crafts we provided. This worked so well. The parents raved about her and the kids had such a good time. Erin Acksper(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-06-2018 We feel extremely fortunate to have had Youngberg Hill as our ceremony & reception venue! When first looking for venues, we lived in Napa, but given we grew up in Oregon. We toured dozens of venues and when we were at Youngberg Hill there was an immediate without a doubt moment knowing this was the place. From the first moment we asked for information, to the tour and contract, everything was easy to follow and clearly outlined. Yes, there were a lot of details but all weddings have them. We loved that they had the expertise of guiding us to the day we wanted and dreamed of.After contracting communication was fast and easy! The owner, Nicolette, was available at all times for questions. So flexible and we loved it. I visited Youngberg Hill multiple times for logistics and Nicolette was always extremely welcoming. We were offered a seated tasting wine experience to enjoy and get to know their wines. Oh, did I mention that their wines were amazing! I am what most would consider a wine snob because I grew up in the wine industry and my husband works in the CA wine industry. Youngberg Hill’s vineyard and biodynamic wine practices are clearly evident in the quality of their wines. My husband and I discuss many details including technical aspects to the winery regiment that were all top of the line.On the wedding day things could not have gone better! We were allowed access to the event site for set up at 11AM and our Inn room was ready at 12:30. They have a beautiful Inn at this location and the rooms were wonderful. The rooms were all well appointed with luxury. I loved that we didn’t need to stay and clean up that night after the wedding like so many places require. They cleaned up everything and staged all our personal items for us to easily pick up the next morning after checking out of the inn. We received so many compliments from our guests on the beauty of the space and professionalism of all involved. Since many of our guests were from out of town and in the wine industry, we loved that they were able to experience what Oregon wine country offers. All of this and I haven’t even talked about the breathtaking views! We are so pleased with everything and recommend you check this place out! Reviewed on 26-02-2019
Kelly P(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-02-2020 You don't want to miss this place!I loved everything about this place. We first came here for wine tastings several years back and we loved it. On our next visit, we stayed overnight and were fans for a lifetime. We loved it so much that our daughter just got married here this past summer and I can honestly say that it was better then I could have ever imagined. Nicolette, the owner, was attentive, responsive to all our requests, and created a team that made each of our 150 wedding guests welcomed and cared for. We celebrated, danced and laughed our way into the night. The follow up after the wedding was easy and we got our full damage deposit back and a bit more as our group drank less then expected at the bar. The way the bar is set up, you pay for what your group actually consumes and there is no min. orders or advance cases to buy. We loved that option. Having all 9 Inn rooms rented by our wedding guests made it easy to get ready and we didn't have to travel after the wedding. Breakfast the next morning came with a fantastic endless pot of coffee. Thank you to everyone. We look forward to coming back with the kids to make more memories! Reviewed on 18-12-2018

I couldn't have dreamed up a better day and I wanted to thank them so much. Every time I needed something they were there. They offered more then we were contracted for at no additional charge. I love that I didn't have to pre-buy at the bar for my guests and I wasn't charged a per guest fee like so many other places do. We had all the rooms at the hotel and they are warmly decorated and felt new. I am looking forward to going back and celebrating our anniversary and enjoying the views with a glass of wine! Easy to work with, had a process that explained each are we would need, the owner was always there to answer our questions quickly, and they did everything we asked. They made it simple and flexible. We could use their preferred caterer or pick on of our own. I loved that as so many other places we toured had a list of a couple of caterers that we had to use. We also didn't need to pre-buy anything from the bar which is one of many reasons we selected this site. We were sent reminders and updates and even did the spacial seated wine tasting for us to enjoy months before the wedding. When we arrived we were greeted at the door by the Innkeeper and our rooms were set and beautiful. The wedding site was so breathtaking that photos don't do it justice. The next morning we had a great cup of coffee and got to enjoy it with our family and friends. I would recommend this place to anyone for a wedding. From the first time we toured to the day we left we felt welcomed by everyone. All our questions were answered quickly and easily by the owner. I was paying for the wedding, so I was copied in on all the changes and updates. I enjoyed the package they put together. My other daughter got married some ware else a few years ago and had to pay for every item separately. At this location everything was under the package which make it so much less stressful. The inn is rented to the wedding for the night, so we didn’t have any strangers walking around or at the wedding. It made it so easy to get ready and then stay the night. The wedding week, we got updates and reminders on checking in and what we had set up for the wedding. The kitchen helped was attentive and the complementary coffee was great. The next morning at the Inn we had a nice breakfast before checking out. I honestly didn’t want to leave. Would definitely recommend weddings here. Erin Blum(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 READ THIS IF YOU ARE THINKING OF HAVING YOUR WEDDING HEREEvent space itself: Beautiful space and great staff - 10/10 for them. The reason for the abysmal review is that the owner, Nicolette, was a complete nightmare to work with. She was the SINGLE source of stress (and distress, and anger, and tears) throughout my entire wedding planning process. If you can see yourself being happy with literally any other venue, definitely do not book here. She is bad enough that it would be worth it for you to not have to deal with her at all. If this is the only place you can see yourself being happy with, make sure to proactively check on these two things, which ended up being the biggest issues for us due to Nicolette's complete ineptitude: 1. Cocktails: She limits hard liquor consumption to one hour (usually right before dinner) and only allows 2 signature cocktails (btw this has nothing to do with Oregon liquor laws, this is just her making an arbitrary decision based on her own personal opinions). You can push for 3 cocktails, but they have to be suuuuper simple, and she will still charge you the exorbitant fee of $14 per drink. (BTW she failed to mention this to us before we booked with her, so we ended up having to make some really difficult decisions). FYI we also got her to extend the time of alcohol consumption to 9:30 p.m., but it took a significant amount of ass-kissing and cajoling. 2. Inn Rooms: She requires you to book out all of the inn rooms the day of your wedding, which is fair. The thing she failed to mention to us before we booked was that she doesn't LET you book out any of the other days of the weekend if there is another wedding. So if you are getting married on Saturday, you and your guests cannot come into town on Friday and stay the weekend in one place. You would have to move rooms the morning of the wedding. Another flag that she failed to proactively communicate to us: The rooms show up as booked online, so make sure your guests don't just go online to check availability - they have to call. Beyond these two things, I would brace yourselves for other issues to arise. Believe me when I say we did what we thought was due diligence throughout this entire process, however Nicolette still managed to throw so many wrenches into things, and then behave in such a way that made everything significantly more difficult and stressful than it needed to be. I cannot overstate how horrible it was to interact with this woman. Final takeaway: From the word Go, once you've seen the venue, all conversations need to be in writing, and you should assume nothing. To the extent that you can get things that are important to you actually built into the contract, would recommend that. Don't assume at any point that she will be reasonable or helpful in any way. We used Youngberg Hill for the views, new event site that fit wedding and the service. All of our needs and requests were replied to easily and quickly. We were taken care of from the moment we arrived and all our needs were attended to. The information was clear from the beginning and everything they said they would do they did. Many wineries require you to pre-buy wine but this one was based on usage and we used less then the average group that was estimated. Their wines are fantastic! The Inn was a huge help as we stayed the night and woke up to our family and friends before leaving for our honeymoon. The coffee and breakfast hit the spot in the morning. Suzzie Q!!(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2019 We had a 120 person wedding at Youngberg Hill in October 2017 and it was beautiful. The place is on top of a vineyard surrounded hill and the breathtaking views that will stay with you for a lifetime. We looked at a few different caterers but ended up using Willabys who managed the site for us and took care of all our numerous needs. The Inn was so great to use to get ready in and for our out of town guests to stay at so they didn't need to drive. Other guests stayed in downtown McMinnville which was 10 minutes drive. I honestly have no complaints. The event building fit everyone easily as we knew the ceremony and reception needed to be inside in October but we were able to spend time outside for photos with the fall colors. Nicolette, the owner, always replied quickly to all my emails through the whole process and helped out at every step. All the costs were the same that were quoted in the contract a year in advance so even if the costs went up we never paid extra which did not happen with some other vendors. I would recommend this place and also I want to thank them for a wonderful time for everyone. Reviewed on 22-02-2018

We loved the flexibility that we could select our own caterer or use their preferred one, Willabys, and that we were NOT being charged per person for anything and it was all included in the site fee. The inn rooms were wonderful to use to get ready in and go to after the reception and we added cheese trays in the rooms to have before the wedding. There are some rules about inn guests going into the tasting room area and arriving early that were explained in advance but it seemed to all work because it all flowed and worked out great. Coffee & breakfast at the Inn was easy as well as checking out the next morning as all of our items were staged in one area for easy removal so we didn't need to stay late after the wedding to clean up. Youngberg Hill's wines are wonderful but my husband loves beer and they use Golden Valley Brewery so we were both happy. In the end, we all had a great day and I would recommend this place. dissapointed in the way we are treated(wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-08-2019 Read the low rating complaints and know that there are many more on other sites that display reviews. You will find most complaints have a similar story. Interesting how there is never any ownership or responsibility of the owner. Instead you reply that you tried so hard to make it right and you have been in business for 14 years and that the person complaining was not the Bride or Groom. I hate to tell you, but in many circumstance the parents will pay for the wedding. If you had even once tried to make someones dissappointment right with complete & genuine intent I might believe you. Claim some responsibility here. Your contract is very contradictory and misleading. I have seen it. It is sad to me that you can take a very large amount of fee's from someone and not even abide by your contract with refunding all but the deposit when the contract is canceled. You fall back on your contract but it states only deposits are not refundable. When you have been asked to state what those deposit amounts are & what they are for, you avoid the question. Every estimate you send is different then the last and the fee's change or are just removed. You for some reason think a deposit and a fee are one in the same. They are not. Reviewed on 16-02-2018
Michelle McGrady(wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-04-2019 Beware of this venue. There are many hidden and undisclosed costs, fee's and expectations of you that have taken a $6000 venue for us to a $20,000 venue and refunds outside of the deposit are apparently not applicable as well. The contract is very contradictory and left to the owners own interpretation of meaning. Deposits to her mean any moneys put towards your day whether it is deemed a fee or a deposit. No refunds will be given. So be careful. Ask questions, get EVERYTHING in writing and honestly I would say video your tour and any conversations you may have with Nicolette. Good luck to you. Shahram Aarabi(groom)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 Buyer Beware: Do not get married at Youngberg Hill. While the location is one of the most beautiful in the Willamette valley, the owners were consistently difficult and terrible to work with. We were married there last year and we found the owners, Nicolette andWayne, to be poor communicators, aggressive, and rude. Every invoice and email exchange required a follow up phone call or two because either the invoice and charges were wrong or they left basic questions unanswered. They nickle and dimed us at every corner. They refused to return our security deposit, falsely claiming that the tent company damaged their property (although there are no photos and evidence and they’ve worked with that same tent company many times before), and they also went after our “day-of” insurance company to try to get more money. I am the owner of a small business and I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism Youngberg Hill gets away with, I am sure it is because the wedding industry doesn’t have repeat customers and their location is idyllic. But don’t be fooled, they are a scam operation, spend your money and time somewhere else.UPDATE: After my wedding, the owners asked me to participate in a scam to get my day-of-wedding insurance to pay for imaginary lawn damage in the amount of $15,000! The owners also demanded that I sign a non-disclosure agreement so that I would never reveal the arrangement to anyone. Of course I refused. The owners then sued me...and lost. Please see Yamhill County Court Case 18SC19582 for more information. Once again, the owners at Youngberg Hill are dishonest scam-artists. They have been trying to scam money from me for almost 2 years after my wedding and ultimately lost in court. Take a look at other negative reviews on the internet. This is not the first time they've done this. Reviewed on 08-01-2018
Amy Reed(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 We got married at Youngberg Hill last March and our wedding was beautiful but the owners Nicolette and Wayne were rude and unprofessional. We booked the and paid for the inn for the entire weekend but Nicolette paraded wine tasters through the wedding venue and gave tours up until an hour before our wedding began. Having a bunch of people half-drunk ogling at our wedding decorations and walking through the venue with their dirty shoes is not what we paid for. Nicolette and Wayne were not responsive to feedback about this - meanwhile they would harp on our paying inn guests about when they could be on the deck, when they could be in the wedding setup area, etc. The other issues included constant nickeling and diming us throughout the wedding process with the help of their mandatory 'wedding planner' Jean Mateson at Willaby's who as far as I could tell took our money and let us do all of the wedding planning. They money grubbing got to the point that Nicolette and Wayne did not refund our wedding deposit because of lawn damage that they noticed two days after our wedding was over. There had been terrible rains and another wedding between our wedding and when they told us about the damage but they just decided it was our fault and kept another $1,000 from us. We are having to take them to small claims court over this. It is too bad because it is a gorgeous venue. Buyer beware - if you get married here, keep your hand on your wallet and get ready for some rude behavior from the owners. Please check the reviews from most other people who have gotten married here - very few are happy and echo the same sentiments of rudeness, cheap behavior, and unprofessionalism.
