Big Spring is a unique farm venue located in Lexington, Virginia boasting a restored barn, mountain views, and a 10-acre lake formed by one of Virginia's largest natural springs (our namesake, The Big Spring). We specialize in bespoke barn weddings, providing the perfect farm venue, without any of the hassle associated with a typical private property venue. Just minutes from lodging, shopping, and dining in Downtown Lexington, planning your event at Big Spring is easy. We want to connect with you! Contact us today to schedule your visit! Make sure to check out the Midland House. It's a 1900's farm house, that we've completely restored! Sleeping up to 10 guests and just one minute from the Big Spring Barn, we now have the option of lovely overnight accommodations at the venue.

Big Spring Farm was the venue of our dreams! There are so many gorgeous locations here that everywhere you turn feels like the perfect spot. We had toured numerous venues in the area but immediately knew after our tour with BSF that we were going to book it for our wedding. The staff is so incredibly accommodating and friendly and remained that way throughout the entire year and a half long planning process. The owner, Buddy, met personally with us for our tour and our final walkthrough which goes a long way to see how passionate he is about the venue and personally connecting with the clients.

Big Spring Farm was the venue of our dreams! There are so many gorgeous locations here that everywhere you turn feels like the perfect spot. We had toured numerous venues in the area but immediately knew after our tour with BSF that we were going to book it for our wedding. The staff is so incredibly accommodating and friendly and remained that way throughout the entire year and a half long planning process. Big Spring Farm has it all - stunning scenery, high quality lighting and event furnishings and a wonderful staff. Every single detail of this venue has been carefully planned and thought out. Buddy and his team are true professionals and have the experience planning and executing events that will allow each couple to be worry free about their big day. We received so many compliments of how beautiful the setting and venue was for our wedding day from our guests. Wedding packages include lighting, tables, chairs (for both ceremony and reception), bars and other accessories to help save on rental costs. We also added the bridal suite to our package which was a great choice. We highly recommend Big Spring Farm for your wedding or special event!

You will not be disappointed by having your wedding at Big Spring Farm - we absolutely loved it from the minute we saw it on a virtual tour to standing on the hilltop to get married. The staff at Big Spring were so responsive and easy to work with, and the venue itself was beautiful - our guests loved everything about it from the mountain backdrop, cocktail hour bar on the dock, relaxing by the fire outside, and dancing in the barn.

I cannot say enough good things about this property and the staff that runs it! The views are absolutely breathtaking. There are two different ceremony sites to choose from, mountain top and water. Both incredible... The property is beautiful and SO well maintained. Buddy and Kaila are the two we communicated with most during the planning process and they were both awesome. They both answered any all and questions we had. Kaila even went above and beyond and helped me find locations for my rehearsal dinner... I mean the BEST staff. We were not local to Lexington, so she helped us get in contact with the local vendors that we needed. We spent a little extra and rented the birdal suite for the girls to get ready in and it was the perfect space for all of us. I had a group of 11 girls and two kids and it was perfect. The bridal suite is located on the property and there is a house attendant that will take care of you needs all morning and drive you and your party down to the barn before the ceremony. The Midland house is an old farmhouse they completely remodeled that is around a mile from the venue. My inlaws rented the house and they loved it! I would recommend just to go take a look at the venue and everything it has to offer, I promise you won't be disappointed.

When our guests asked why we picked Lexington, we told them to wait until they saw Big Spring Farm, and during the wedding they told me they understood. If you are looking for a natural oasis encircled by mountains and that includes a gorgeous barn that is the perfect balance of rustic and elegant, a beautiful large body of water, delicate willow trees, a fire pit, and acres and acres of lush green beauty-- don't look any further. Buddy and his team also provide for rent a GORGEOUS house on site for the bridal suite, as well as a breathtaking Airbnb they own 2 mins from the Farm-- I mean, it's the WHOLE package and it made my wedding the perfect day. Buddy and his team are kind, generous, flexible, and extremely communicative. They made us feel like family. We had a fusion Bangladeshi-Western wedding and he went out of his way to accommodate special arrangements to make the day our own. I will never forget that. Big Spring Farm is what dreams are made of, and Buddy and his team are the kindest, warmest, most wonderful team you could ask for. Trust me-- snag this gem up!!!

The beauty of it all is what initially drew my husband and I to it, but the kindness, thoughtfulness, and dedication of Buddy, Jill, and Kaila is what made our wedding day so incredible. They were all so, so helpful and responsive - both in normal wedding times and (even more importantly) when COVID hit. It was evident from the beginning that they truly care about their clients and ensuring that their weddings are exactly what they envision. We didn't have a single worry on our wedding day because of what a wonderful place Big Spring is to celebrate!

Can I give more than five stars? Big Spring Farm was the most perfect setting for our September wedding. Months later and we still have guests still tell us how incredible our venue was. We got married on the peninsula under the most beautiful weeping willows surrounded by mountains - it was a dream. The barn was the best reception space and we even used the outside area as our dance floor under the new veranda. They have plenty of rentals to fit different styles, but not much is even needed because the space is just so naturally stunning. Buddy and Jill are so kind, gracious, and professional, which made the whole wedding process so easy. I never thought I'd find a venue that would just feel so right, but thank you Big Spring for being more than our wildest dreams!

Big Spring Farm was the perfect backdrop for our fall themed wedding. We had a hilltop ceremony, cocktail hour on the willow draped peninsula, and reception in the beautiful barn. Everything was reasonably priced for the beauty and amazing service you receive. The team at BSF was so accommodating and professional. We live about 3.5 hours from this venue, and the team made planning from a far a breeze. All of our guests were ranting and raving about BSF the entire time we were there. I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone I meet who wants a beautiful, rustic wedding.

Everything from the ceremony site, to the fire pit, to the bathrooms, to the barn is immaculate! Mary Margaret and Buddy were so easy, accommodating and just plain amazing to work with.Buddy & his wife Jill started as wedding photographers and you can tell with all the exquisite detail that they've thought about their venue as a masterpiece to be pictured. The bridal suite is charming and SO COZY! I honestly felt like I was getting ready in my house (that had been renovated and more upscale haha!). It had that warm feeling that made you completely comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have great weather so we could get married on the peninsula under the weeping willows and a barn reception. Everything was amazing and I can't imagine getting married anywhere else.

What a dream of a venue. The planning process was so much easier with the staff at Big Spring. My emails were always answered quickly, and the walkthrough was detailed and thorough. The setting was absolute perfection, despite the cold. Our guests complimented the venue's beauty all night. The bridal suite is also a must. The Powers' home is out of a magazine. It was the perfect place to enjoy getting ready with my bridesmaids.

Buddy and Mary from Big Spring Farm are amazing. We went to them explaining we wanted an out of the box wedding. We wanted to have a \"haunted and horror\" themed wedding at night. After being told No by multiple venues Buddy said why not. They were more than helpful when we asked questions. The price was very reasonable especially since we rented the venue for the whole entire day. I will definitely recommend Big Spring Farm to anyone who wants an outdoor venue in the mountains

Buddy and Mary from Big Spring Farm are amazing. We went to them explaining we wanted an out of the box wedding. We wanted to have a \"haunted and horror\" themed wedding at night. Our wedding day was seriously the best day of my life and our venue selection was a major contributor to this. Big Spring Farm is absolutely gorgeous. The bridal suite, ceremony location, and barn are all stunning. Choosing our venue was an immediate decision from the second we arrived and we've never once questioned it. You couldn't ask for better staff, a better location, or better views. You can tell the owners take so much pride in their work and really do want you to have the best day possible. They are so hands-on and take so much stress off your plate by all that they are willing to do. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Wow! This venue is a dream and Buddy and his wife and their staff were just amazing! So easy to work with and very accommodating. Communication was timely and thorough. Everything was just so perfect! Highly highly recommend!!

We love Big Spring! My husband and I got married here in October and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful venue! We splurged a little on our venue, but it was definitely worth every penny! Buddy was very easy to work with and the staff at Big Spring was great! We received so many compliments and couldn't be happier!

My husband and I were married at Big Spring Farm in June and it was absolutely perfect. We loved that the ceremony and reception site are in the same location so no one has to drive and worry about getting lost :) Buddy was so helpful and let my husband and I come multiple times to check out the venue over the course of our engagement season, and was really timely and helpful with email responses and answering the millions of questions we had. The actually wedding day was completely stress-free. Buddy and his team set up all the chairs, the arbor, and other various decorative items at the ceremony site. They even set up a little bonfire outside near the spring and moved all the chairs into the barn for dinner. Everyone was so helpful and our guests couldn't stop raving about how beautiful the location is. We had the wedding of our dreams all thanks to Big Spring Events!!

My daughter and I selected Big Spring Farm for the ceremony and reception. The barn is beautiful as are the surroundings and ceremony site. All my guests asked me how I found this place. I like to think it found us. Buddy Powers and his staff were wonderful to work with and we are all so happy to have selected this special venue.

Buddy & Jill Powers (Owner) Big Spring is the fruition of a dream started with our own farm wedding. With 10 years experience in the wedding industry, and a passion for raising our family in a rural setting, we've found that our deepest passions lie in caring for the land and celebrating the covenant of marriage. It has been a complete joy to see Big Spring become a place where both of those things happen in harmony. Yes, the farm is our home, but in many ways it's home for all the couples that start a new chapter of their life here!
