Our historic 19th-century barn has been meticulously renovated and restored to its original glory… with a few added bells and whistles. We offer air-conditioning, heating, and a 4-foot disco ball, among other modern amenities. OUR CAPACITY: 175-200 In the Barn for dancing and cocktails/standing room. Seated dinners up to 80. Many larger groups have dinner on the lawn under the stars (or, rent a tent)-- and then bring everyone into the barn to dance the night away! The property is a hidden gem set amidst 34 acres of breathtaking grounds with open meadows, forests, winding nature trails, and gardens, offering an idyllic backdrop for events with 3 ceremony site options: The Forest, The Meadow, and The Lawn. Black Walnut Farm was one of New York’s first farms and stop houses, welcoming guests with ale and bread. We are the next generation of the original mission of the farm: to rest, to celebrate and to spread joy. When you have your wedding at Black Walnut Farm, you’re a part of 275 years of history! The property was established in 1747 as one of the first ten settlements in the county; and our barn was restored in partnership with the New York State Historic Preservation program to revive its original 1891 beauty. We're not honestly sure where to begin with how over-the-moon ecstatic and thrilled we were to have our wedding at Black Walnut Farm. Let us start by saying that Jim & Sarah are the most amazing venue managers/people you will ever meet. Anything we needed help with, any questions we had, any concerns we wanted addressed, they handled them quickly and respectfully. Our original venue lost their permits and canceled on us 4 months before our wedding. To say we were stressed is an understatement. Somehow, through some magic of the universe, we found BWF. It was even better than our original place, and had everything we wanted. We found out they were brand new and didn't exist yet when we were looking. So, it was truly a blessing in disguise. Both Sarah & Jim jumped to help us gather our thoughts, our stresses and our ideas to bring our dream day back to life.Black Walnut Farm is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue (especially if you're looking for a fall wedding, as we did). Our dream wedding was always \"vintage fairytale\" and it provided that vibe to a T, with versatility for other themes as well. From the rustic cottage (that turned out to basically be our dream home); to the barn itself with its farm-style picnic tables and mismatched chairs (a dream of the bride's); to the grounds - everything is meticulously cared for. All the decor is designed beautifully and artistically by the two of them with each item being picked for specific reasons. Plus, you get Miss Lily, the Pro-purr-ty Manager, as an honorary wedding guest, so that was an excellent plus.Seriously though, if you're looking for a wedding venue in the area and you want a place where the managers are willing to go above and beyond and ensure your perfect day is exactly that; we honestly believe that you can not find a better option than Black Walnut Farm. All of our guests can't stop raving about how perfect it was and how beautiful everything turned out to be.We can't wait to come back and visit for an anniversary down the road so that we can relive the most perfect day in our relationship thanks to Jim & Sarah and their attention to detail. We could write a novel on our love and appreciation for BWF.We joke that they are our fairy godparents but they are so much more than that. They are magic-makers, loving friends, and truly own something special. Do NOT hesitate on Black Walnut Farm.

The most magical day at the most magical venue. After getting engaged in the farmhouse on an anniversary stay at Black Walnut Farm, my husband and I knew there was nowhere else we'd rather say \"I Do\" than at The Barn! The attention and care put into making this place the dream that it is cannot be overstated. Jim and Sarah, the farm's owners, have set the scene as being part old-world with vintage elements, but with a big-ass disco ball to make everything sparkle and feel new again! We are big lovers of antiquities and anything historical, so a farm established in 1747 with preserved elements and modern updates was the perfect landscape for us. Not only that, but the entire grounds are a photographer's fantasy. Between the farmhouse, the nature trail, and the special touches sprinkled all over the property including swings, benches, and a green vintage truck, you won't lack for photo ops (see attached!). Many of our wedding guests told us that the venue was the most special and unique they'd experienced and it provided so many options for things to see and enjoy! Having been together for ten years prior to our nuptials, we have a bit of history in our own relationship and starting our next chapter at this happy vintage-inspired venue felt truly meant to be. We are forever grateful to Jim and Sarah for providing this setting for the best day of our lives.

An absolutely perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted a place where our guests could feel close, but also explore their surroundings. Black Walnut Farm provided an oasis for discovery and revelry, surrounded by a gorgeous setting. The Farm allows for many \"locales\" and \"configurations\" to host your wedding. Our guests began behind the barn for our ceremony, entered through the barn for cocktail hour and emerged onto the front of the property for dinner. Then partying followed in thebarn under an impressive disco ball. The venue and its owners hit all the right notes - and our wedding was a MAJOR SUCCESS!

A place filled with mother nature’s beautiful touches. Plus a historic story to go along with it! Black Walnut Farm was the perfect setting for my daughter’s wedding day! Sarah and Jim were very accommodating and handled it all with complete professionalism! Two beautiful souls who were fun to work with, I feel like we became family! Thank you for being a part of making my daughter and son-in-laws day so perfect! ❤️🌼
