Chankaska is amazing for so many reasons! My husband and I were married at Chankaska in the fall of 2022. Chankaska has always held a special place in our heart, so it was any easy choice when we started looking at venues. I could have never imagined it would be as wonderful as it was. Cynthia and her staff were incredible from start to finish. Cynthia was so responsive, she helped answer ALL of our questions, and she made Chankaska feel like home to us. The Event Center and outdoor ceremony space were absolutely beautiful, and the day could not have been more perfect. All the little details came together exactly how we had envisioned it would. One of our favorite moments from the day was enjoying our favorite wine on the back patio after our ceremony. Cynthia recommended this and ensured we had our favorite drinks waiting for us. It was such a special moment for us, and it shows how personable the staff at Chankaska are to each of their couples. It is still our favorite date night stop and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

We LOVE Chankaska for so many reasons!!1. We got married there back in October and Cynthia Strauser (The Events Manager) was absolutely wonderful to work with. We didn't live in the area, but she made planning our reception so easy! Plus, she always made the effort to be there whenever we stopped by and wanted to see the events center for planning purposes. She has the most wonderful energy and is a dream to work with. She is kind, efficient, driven, pays close attention to all our details, and made our day magical!2. All of our guests absolutely loved this event space, the outdoor fire pit, the beautiful landscaping and they absolutely loved the wine. So many of our guests were from out of town and had never been there so it was really special to share this place that Kurt & I find so incredible with our loved ones.3. During the planning process, Cynthia was the best support in answering all of our questions and going over all our details to get it just right. She even gave me the biggest hug after a meeting we had because I was a stressed out/crying bride to be that day from all the wedding appointments I had in Mankato a few weeks before the wedding.4. On our wedding day, Kurt & I took a moment away on the back patio for a glass of bubbly by ourselves to take in the moment. Not only did Cynthia have everything all set up for us, but one of the bartenders named Montana left the sweetest note by our glasses for when we sat down and it brought us both to tears. We saved that note with our vows. It was so special what she shared!5. We love that we are also wine circle members here and it's so much fun to stop in and pick up our bottles when they are ready each quarter and have a glass of wine. One time early this year when we stopped in, we forgot to make reservations and Kelsey was so accommodating in helping us still get a seat inside even though they were packed since we had shared that we would be getting married there in a couple of months.The people who work here are the best, the wine and food are delicious, and it's a little slice of heaven when you want to get away from the city and just relax!

We got married at Chankaska in the Court ceremony space and had our reception in the event center on 9.11.21. Looking back on the day, there could not have been a better place to have the wedding. The staff we worked with were AMAZING, and Cynthia made the entire planning process so easy. Cynthia, the event coordinator, is so organized and responsive, and she was always willing to answer my questions or help where she could. I cannot say enough positive things about Chankaska or the employees. We also rented the Winemakerâs House for my girls and I to do hair/makeup in the morning, and it was exactly the space we needed. Chankaska was definitely the ideal venue, and I will forever be recommending it to everyone in search of a wedding venue! Best of the best!

We got married at Chankaska on June 5th, 2021. We had originally planned to get married in 2020, and when COVID hit, Chankaska allowed us to pick a new date for our reception without any added fees or hassle. Cynthia and the Chankaska team were incredible to work with, they were extremely responsive and positive in answering all of our questions throughout the process! The venue is absolutely stunning and the perfect space for a reception. I could not recommend Chankaska more!

The staff did a FABULOUS job for my daughter's wedding. With all the uncertainties in planning a wedding in a year of Covid, Cynthia (Event Coordinator) was professional and was quick to answer any questions we had leading up to the wedding. The staff was flexible and courteous, assisting any way that they could to make this event happen flawlessly. I have heard MANY comments from our guests how impressed they were with the serving attitude that Cynthia and her staff provided. My daughter and her new husband truly had the wedding of their dreams! I highly recommend this venue.

I cannot recommend Chankaska enough for a wedding venue. We had both our ceremony and reception at the creekside site and were blown away! Our guests LOVED exploring the grounds and the winery itself before our ceremony! We worked with Cynthia leading up to the wedding and she covered all the details thoroughly and everything went perfectly! The service was fabulous and we loved working with our caterer we found through Chankaska. Everyone STILL raves about the food (Apples 2 Apples) and the beautiful venue! We love having a built in date and trip down memory lane every time we visit the winery. We are from the Twin Cities and decided on Chankaska because of its beauty, the confidence we felt dealing with Cynthia, and knowing they had beer, wine, and spirits available onsite for our guests at the reception. They offer multiple options for ceremony and reception to fit all needs, which is brilliant. We were fortunate to also take sunset photos during golden hour in the vineyard and WOW. Everything was beautiful and perfect!

This venue is gorgeous, perfect for your outdoor ceremony on the lawn in the woods and Italian winery inspired reception. But those aren't the best parts of this venue.The best part? The staff. We could not not have picked a better venue or great group of people to work with. Originally Chankaska was not on our list, but we paid a visit while we were in town, the venue and Cynthia we so pleasant accommodating! We fell in love within moments of touring the site. We had no idea this hidden gem existed so close to where we used to live. Each outdoor ceremony location option was breathtaking, and our hardest decision was which to choose. The new reception area and bar were out of this world gorgeous. One of the most enjoyable parts of this venue was that in the following days nearly every guest that attended changed their social media photo to something from Chankaska that night. The catering was well done, and they knew what to do. Food was spectacular. One of the greatest parts of this venue was the opportunity to go into the vineyards at sunset to take photos at \"golden hour\". While all the photos from Chankaska turn out amazing, these are the ones that are especially print worthy.To top it off, the price was completely reasonable, and there are tons of hotels and transportation options near by. We HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor or indoor wedding. (p.s. We were living in California at the time of our wedding and visit wineries every week. Chankaska wines are actually great! Probably best in Minnesota.)

My husband and I were married on what felt like the muggiest day ever. We were very thankful to have chosen the new event center in lieu of the tent. We were even more thankful once terrestrial rains poured down during dinner. The grounds and location really are beautiful. The winery is still open to the public but our ceremony/reception still felt like it was a private affair. I do not have many comments that I would change about our experience or event. Some small items are the size of the accommodation rooms and the requirement to have all items out night of. The rooms can get a bit tight and the night can get away from you for last minute cleanup.

We had both our ceremony and our reception in the event center; the staff was very efficient and timely with the flip. My husband and I planned our wedding from out of state; Cynthia was great to work with and efficient with her communication. Our wedding day was predicted to have lots of snow which could of course stress the bride, but Cynthia helped to keep me calm and attended to every tiny detail to make sure it all went smoothly. She had many great ideas to improve the flow and timeline of the wedding. Our guests had so many great things to say about the beautiful building and the great food and wine! We are so happy with everything Chankaska provided for our wedding and I highly recommend them!

We choose Chankaska because of the location and beautiful grounds. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. Our wedding was in the middle of a huge construction project. While Chankaska \"hid\" the construction from our guests, it was frustrating to not have been made aware of the projects ahead of time. It certainly would have influenced our decision when choosing a venue. Karen also left abruptly 2 months before our wedding and there were some challenges around working with her replacement.

Karen was great to work with - understanding, prompt, and resourceful - and our day-of coordinator Marissa was also excellent and super helpful - we're sure things would have gone a lot less smoothly without her! Chankaska made it very easy to plan our wedding, even though we aren't living in Minnesota, with a lot included in the venue rental (for a price of course :) ). And talk about gorgeous - the venue is well-cared for and really a gem in a part of the state I hadn't visited before, even though I grew up in the twin cities. The wine is also excellent (and our guests agreed, even the wine connoisseurs in the bunch) - make sure to join the wine club to get a discount on your wedding wine and get a few extra delicious bottles throughout the year!Just a couple things to note that we wish we'd had known earlier. Costwise, we knew what we were getting into for the most part, but there were still a few costs we weren't expecting above the high venue price: keg pricing was expensive (a new option for the year of our wedding), and event insurance and paying extra to rent wine barrels for the ceremony we also didn't budget for. It's also important to note that the winery will be open during the event, and there is also a possibility of other events happening in tandem (in the contract) - this made for a few ill-timed noisy moments during our ceremony.Overall our day was perfect for us, and the staff at Chankaska and the venue itself were a huge part of that. No regrets!

Karen was great to work with - understanding, prompt, and resourceful - and our day-of coordinator Marissa was also excellent and super helpful - we're sure things would have gone a lot less smoothly without her! We hosted our daughter's wedding at Chankaska Creek Winery in May of 2017. It is a perfect setting for an outdoor wedding; the grounds are beautifully lush and well-kept. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't kind to us that weekend. It was cold and pouring rain! The day could have been disastrous but Karen, Marissa and the staff did all they could to make the ceremony and reception a success. These people know what they're doing! Karen and Marissa notified our vendors that the ceremony would be held in the reception tent and everyone did a wonderful job accommodating the change of plans. The atmosphere in the tent was warm and inviting despite the weather conditions. It turned out to be a memorable celebration and we are still getting compliments from our guests. We appreciated how terrific Karen was to work with during all of the planning and day-of. Chankaska provides a list of preferred vendors and we had a great experience with everyone involved.

Our wedding at Chankaska on 9/2/17 was absolutely beautiful! The ceremony and receptions sites were exactly what we wanted and had lots of natural beauty. Karen, the event planner, was responsive to us throughout the entire planning process and was always willing to answer a wide variety of questions. We received many compliments from our guests who all enjoyed the venue and the atmosphere. We were disappointed with a few things including the limitations on catering, as we were only allowed to choose from two vendors and the food was very expensive, the catering contact rarely returned our phone calls/e-mails, and the food was not of high quality. We would not describe the cost as 'affordable' due to the 18% gratuity on all food & drink, the caterer having to bill through Chankaska to add additional fees, being charged for 'extra' items such as wine barrels at the ceremony site and the golf cart, and very steep liquor costs with limited beer selections.Overall, Chankaska was beautiful and exactly the atmosphere we were looking for, we just would have preferred to have been able to work with a variety of vendors.

Karen was an absolute joy to work with and ensured everything on our wedding day was carefully and thoughtfully planned. Chankaska hosted our non-religious wedding on 5/20/17. We chose Chankaska because every time I have been out there to enjoy their fabulous wine selection, it's been an absolute treat! Little did I know their staff would be just as amazing. Right from the beginning, even before our first meeting, Karen was absolutely wonderful. My mother & I were planning the big day from opposite ends of the state and Karen was extremely helpful (and patient, answering emails from both of us always promptly and very kind!) with every aspect, right down to the nitty-gritty details to make sure every thing was absolutely perfect on our day. She made us feel like we were top priority, despite the winery's schedule being beyond busy. She worked closely with our caterer and decorator to make sure everything was just as we wanted. The May weather was not kind to us on our big day, it was pouring rain! But despite having to improvise a bit in regards to moving the ceremony indoors the day of, Karen & her crew did everything to make sure the tent was beautiful for both our ceremony and reception. And it was!! Marissa was our day-of coordinator and she was so lovely and helpful. She checked in with us often with updates to make sure we knew what was going on as far as things happening outside and worked hard to keep everyone calm and on schedule. We got many compliments from our guests remarking at how beautiful the grounds were, even in the pouring rain!! Karen & her whole crew were extremely professional and I would highly recommend Chankaska as a fantastic place to get married, even if it's raining. :)

The groom and I were on the fence as to whether we were going to go through with a big wedding or not. We stepped foot onto the property, had a glass of wine, met with Karen and the deal was sealed. The space is absolutely beautiful, the staff is helpful every step of the way, and the local MN wine is delicious. We moved out of state in the midst of the planning process, but Karen and Courtney helped to keep things on track and made sure I didn't miss anything. Their vendor recommendations are helpful, they said that they would not recommend anyone if they didn't think they did a great job, and this rang true with the vendors I encountered through them. The week before the wedding they had had some property damage from rain/high waters and Karen spoke with me multiple times about potential changes and options to think about. They were even going to figure out a new firepit option as their built-in one had flooded and they knew it was an important part to us. The day of came and everything went perfectly. Chankaska hosted our wedding on 7/30/16. What a spectacular setting for our special day. Throughout the planning process, Karen was our go-to-person. She did an amazing job helping us make our plans and ideas happen. We never felt like we were asking too much. Everything was possible from her perspective. What I really appreciated was that she worked closely with our florist, caterer and wedding planner. There were a lot of things that when on behind the planning scenes that we trusted with Karen to coordinate. Chankaska is a stunningly beautiful property and on our wedding day, it was in immaculate condition. My husband and I have always been so impressed by the care that the team at Chankaska does to keep the property and surroundings so well groomed. On the day of the wedding, the staff at Chankaska was so helpful and respectful of all that we had planned. They never missed a beat and were always there to help out. We used three venues - Forest, Court and Barrel Room and their staff did a great job of getting everything beautifully set up including a King's Table that sat 79 people. Our guest continue to rave about the wedding and the beautiful setting of the Chankaska winery. Choosing them for our wedding venue was the best decision we made.

To anyone who wants the most beautiful outdoor wedding with an indoor/tent option, this is the place! They have several beautifully taken care of outdoor options and the tent at the Creekside venue can be air-conditioned which was KEY on our wedding day this summer. Karen was very helpful and patient with all of my questions and requests before the wedding day. The only problem was there must have been some miscommunication between Karen and her assistant, Courtney on our wedding day. We had a guest book that required finger paints for thumbprints, and this had been discussed with Karen during a sit down meeting in the month prior. On the wedding day, this guest book was set up with the paints and Courtney was apparently unaware that the guest book had already been discussed with Karen. This caused some confusion and stress to the groom's mother but the situation turned out fine.

To anyone who wants the most beautiful outdoor wedding with an indoor/tent option, this is the place! They have several beautifully taken care of outdoor options and the tent at the Creekside venue can be air-conditioned which was KEY on our wedding day this summer. Karen was very helpful and patient with all of my questions and requests before the wedding day. The only problem was there must have been some miscommunication between Karen and her assistant, Courtney on our wedding day. We had a guest book that required finger paints for thumbprints, and this had been discussed with Karen during a sit down meeting in the month prior. On the wedding day, this guest book was set up with the paints and Courtney was apparently unaware that the guest book had already been discussed with Karen. This caused some confusion and stress to the groom's mother but the situation turned out fine.

Chankaska was a great venue and a great company to work with. My wife and I utilized Chankaska for our Rehearsal Dinner and it was easily one of the highlights of our wedding weekend. Our initial meetings with the staff were very enjoyable, Karen and Courtney were easy to work with, and all charges and expectations were clear.On the night of the event, everything was set up perfectly, and the staff during the dinner were great to our guests making sure that everyone had drinks and food and that everyone was comfortable. Courtney was quick to answer questions and she ensured that everything was taken care of during the event.I would highly recommend Chankaska for any event. Our guests were also impressed with the Barrel Room, Wine, and service that Chankaska provided.Thanks again!

It was a great location and very beautiful grounds. It was sometimes very difficult, though, to work with Chankaska. Leading up the the day it seemed like there was problem after problem and it became very stressful for me. On the day of the reception everything went better than I thought. Everything turned out great, they did a very nice job putting everything together and the event went of smoothly until the end of the night. We paid for a golf cart 2 hours at the beginning and 2 hours at the end of the reception for our grandparents get up the hill to the parking lot.. At the end of the night I was having to tell them to give us the cart. One time they told me I couldn't use it because they were using it to clean up, even though I was paying for it. If they didn't have such beautiful grounds we would have went elsewhere because their customer service was not great!
