Samantha Cedeno(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2018 This was the most perfect place for our June wedding. Evan was a dream to work with from the first time we met. On our first visit, he offered us a tasting and went above and beyond to get to know us and to stress that his goal was to make our wedding fit us. He answered all our questions, helped us plan everything, lent us vases for our centerpieces, and was so unbelievably knowledgeable and helpful. The staff at Cortlandt Colonial is so professional and kind, and the food is unbelievable. My only regret is not being able to enjoy all the food at cocktail hour after hearing how our guests raved about it. I keep trying to encourage friends to marry there so I can go back!! Evan was such a pleasure to work with, he was so helpful with everything from helping us plan the wedding all the way from Mississippi, to making sure the whole evening ran smoothly. Evan and his team always made sure we were taken care of. During cocktail hour they brought endless appetizers and drinks to the bridal suite while we were signing the marriage license and getting people organized for photos. All of our guests were raving about the food, most of them thought cocktail hour was the the main meal considering there was a huge variety of 35 different appetizers available, all of which were delicious! Many wished they had saved more room for the 3 course dinner, which was cooked absolutely perfectly. They even came around with platters of all 3 entrées after people finished eating in case they wanted seconds or wanted to try one of the other entrées, I mean, what other venue does that?? We were honestly kind of skeptical of what we were getting into considering how affordable the venue is, but even with all of the wonderful reviews, our wedding far exceeded our expectations. The venue is beautiful, we got married under the gazebo and all of our guests loved taking pictures by the waterfall. The dance floor had plenty of room for all of our guests, and the different colored lighting gave it an awesome party atmosphere. Evan recommended our photographer and DJ, both of whom who did a great job and were very nice to work with. Roy Liu(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 Long overdue review of Cortlandt Colonial Manor. To us, it was important for our wedding ceremony/reception to be the only one going on at the time, and many of the wedding venues we visited before CCM that felt like wedding factories that held as many as 4 events on any given day. We were able to pick exactly what time our ceremony and reception would be. At our first visit, Evan laid out all the details of each (very reasonably-priced) package with no hidden fees or tricks. In fact, the package we chose offered so much food and service that we felt the need to cut down on a few courses and shorten our reception length. Knowing his background as a chef and in reading reviews of previous satisfied customers, we put our full faith in the food and booked the venue months before doing our menu tasting. Evan was involved but not obtrusive during the entire preparation process and made sure our wedding day ran smoothly even though we used vendors that were unfamiliar with the venue. During the final few days before the wedding, Evan was in constant communication with us and accommodated our last minute requests. On our wedding day, Evan and his team made sure everything ran smoothly. They allotted enough time for the florist and DJ for set up. From great weather to a great staff to satisfied guests, the day couldn't have gone better. To this day, our guests still rave about the eclectic spread that was prepared for cocktail hour and the subsequent 4 course dinner and over-the-top dessert presentation. A simple but beautiful wedding cake provided by a local bakery was included in our package, and it felt every bit as premium as any we've had. At the end of the night, there was a shuttle service for guests staying at the local Holiday Inn (discounted room block rates availabe)We highly recommend Cortlandt Colonial Manor to any couple who wants a small to medium-sized wedding (in my opinion, perfect for 75-150 guests) with excellent personalized service and unbeatable food and drink. The ceremony took place under a lovely gazebo with a beautiful waterfall off to the side. Evan and his team made sure everything ran smoothly from day one to the wedding day. During the first meeting, Evan blew us away with the food and wedding package options, all being reasonably priced. Every package included an open bar within in the price. A few days before the wedding I dropped off the party favors and all the decorations I wanted on the tables and in the ballroom. When I arrived, everything was perfectly placed and looked amazing. I was so happy that his team decorated for me, it was one less thing to worry about. Before the wedding started, Evan talked to the wedding party and explained when to walk down and where to go (also extremely helpful). He made me feel relaxed with being completely organized throughout the day. \tAlong the lines of being organized, Evan gave recommendations for DJS & photographers that he previously has worked with and highly recommended. This narrowed down the process of trying to find professionals with great reviews. \tAfter the ceremony came the amazing cocktail hour. There were over 50 appetizers and they kept refilling them! There was something for everyone! My brother-in-law loved the shrimp and pineapple appetizer. The tacos were phenomenal (and Evan gave me my own personal plate of them!). My co-workers kept telling me how delicious the food was and left there stuffed. Friends that have gone to multiple wedding said mine was hands-down the best. There was so much food. After the cocktail hour came a salad, a pasta dish, and the main entree. The sole was a favorite on my husband’s side. My family preferred the prime rib. The team accommodated everyone by cooking the meat to people’s own preferences and even handing out seconds. \tFamily friends were so impressed with the wedding that they are planning on having their wedding at Cortlandt Colonial, which I highly recommended. We visited many different wedding venues throughout Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Orange County. To us the choice was obvious; Cortlandt Colonial. Many venues operate multiple weddings at the same time. At the Cortlandt Colonial, we were the only one happening, thus we were priority number one. The price was extremely reasonable, the venue itself is wonderful with the extra outdoor space and even a cover if the weather is poor, the newly renovated bridal suite was luxurious, but possibly our favorite aspect is the fact that Cortlandt Colonial is also a restaurant. Both visually stunning and delicious; passed hot hors d’oeuvre and a cold seafood platter. We also grew “hedges” of mint both for decoration and for the signature cocktail. 2. How smooth the day ran. As soon as all parties arrived at CCM, there was no chasing, where do I go questions or lull’s in the event. My vendors were welcomed by CCM and despite rain in the morning, all outdoor ceremony seating was dry. 3. How versatile the venue is. It offers indoor and outdoor dining and dancing space. Kristin Schordine(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-11-2015 My husband and I got married at Cortlandt Colonial on in November 2015. When we chose this venue, we were very impressed that a complimentary tasting was offered PRIOR to booking, which no one else that we went to offered. The prices were extremely reasonable, and we felt we were getting our money's worth. We opted for an upgraded menu which included an international coffee hour with more liqueur flavors than you can imagine. We weren't nickel and dimed for things like linens and chair covers, everything was included. For cocktail hour, we weren't limited to a certain number of options; we got everything on the list. Homestyle Bakery in Peekskill made our complimentary cake, which was absolutely delicious. Planning was simple and Evan gave us the ability to be as involved as you want, with the assurances that if you aren’t a big DIY person, everything will come out wonderful. He was there to help guide us when necessary, even providing his cell phone number. We had a large number of out of town guests requiring accommodations, so it was also a pleasant surprise that Evan’s father also owns the nearby Holiday Inn Express in Peekskill, and the hotel offered complimentary use of an 18-person shuttle bus. Evan promised us when we were planning that if additional transportation was needed, he would provide it. I’m pretty sure we had 80+ people staying at the hotel and we asked him to provide an additional shuttle or bus to avoid the necessity of people having to wait for multiple round trips. Evan then told us that the 18 person shuttle would be sufficient. We didn’t want guests to have to arrive at the venue over an hour early, or have to wait for multiple round trips for over an hour to return to the hotel. Evan agreed to cover the cost of the morning shuttle, but we ended up having to foot the bill for the evening shuttle, which was an unexpected cost for us. That was our only complaint regarding the entire experience. Our wedding day was perfect, otherwise. The hotel was beautiful and new and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Our guests had most of the hotel booked up and no one complained to us of any problems with the hotel or the booking process.Evan’s father attended to our needs throughout the day of our wedding, and made sure we had time to ourselves to eat, something we greatly appreciated given the stories you hear from other couples. The amount of food was amazing. Halfway through the meal, they come around with seconds so you can try the other options. Not a single person went home hungry, and some actually went home with to go containers. Without a doubt, I would recommend you consider this venue. We believe that we got a beautiful Westchester wedding without the inflated Westchester prices. Reviewed on 02-11-2016

While I'm sure their are many beautiful places to get married in Westchester, NY, Cortlandt Colonial is the best for one simple reason, the owner Evan. My wife and I gave him an impossible task and he not only pulled it off but he went above and beyond what we expected and thought was possible. Evan pulled off our dream wedding in under 45 days. We did not think it was going to be possible to have a wedding set up start to finish in under two months but Evan did it. Flowers, tuxedos, DJ's, photographers, Evan has recommendations and contact information for everything you need to have your perfect wedding day. You can shop around but you will not find better quality for a better price then those suggested to you by Evan in your consultation. From the moment we sat down with Evan he made us feel reassured and relaxed in what many find to be an extremely stressful time. Everyone wants the perfect wedding, you have to start with the perfect venue and this one comes with Evan so you're already ahead of the curve. My wife and I conceded that because of our time table that we were going to have to make some sacrifices and just try to have as good a day as possible. Thank goodness we found Cortlandt Colonial Manor and met Evan, he would not concede anything for our wedding and helped us every step of the way. When he says call me day or night he truly means it, trust me I called him after midnight more than once. Not only did he answer but he talked to me as long as I needed to bring my stress level and nervousness down. Things that you would not think an owner would bother with, Evan bothers with because he truly cares about his clients. If you sit down with him you will feel his commitment and generosity as a person. Evan is why we chose Cortlandt Colonial Manor and we were not disappointed one bit. The food is wonderful, the ballroom is beautiful, the staff is accommodating, and the outdoor garden with the waterfall is really just something out of a movie. From our first meeting to him, to the times we have been in for dinner or brunch at the restaurant since booking, to the night before our wedding when we were missing something that we needed prior to the wedding and picking it up at 10:30 at night. Elena Ollis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2015 Our wedding was an incredible exoerience, and one of the main reasons for that was the venue and its owner, Evan. Evan made working the details out easy. We had to orgaize our wedding in NY while living in Maryland and Evan made it work for us. During the wedding everything ran smoothly. Evan was on site himself, making sure everything was going well. He was also running parts of the wedding (making it easy for us to enjoy ourselves). He also is the chef and his food is outstanding. There was an incredible amount of food, which ordinarily could make the food less tasty...not in this case. I still to this day have not had the steak as delicious as his. The rest of the food (hors d'oeuvre, main, and dessert) was incredible. Crapes with pumpkin ice cream anyone? The whole experience was wonderful. The price was more than reasonable, especially for that area, and the staff was professional. We had a blast. Would recommend Cortlandt Colonial Manor to all, and I actually do. My expectations for our wedding night were understandably high, but even still, they were far exceeded! Evan was there every step of the way to make sure our day went smoothly and on schedule (even though my grandmother held up the ceremony by an hour!). The food was absolutely spectacular, no matter which entree was picked, everyone had great things to say. The bartenders we're friendly and accommodating, keeping all of our guests happy and dancing. The wait staff was fantastic, always coming around with more food, another drink, or just a pleasant smile to see how things are going. As for the venue, it was (is) gorgeous. They recently renovated the banquet hall to give it a timeless and classy look. We also held our ceremony outside; All the decorations, plants and flowers were very nicely done with seasonal pieces and accents. We could not have made a better choice for our wedding. You can always tell a business is run right when the employees only have good things to say about their jobs and their boss. This always shows through in the end to the customer, and Evan really does a great job hiring great people and running a top notch business in all aspects. We had been to several weddings at the Cortlandt Colonial before ours. The venue is gorgeous it was recently updated with new carpeting and lighting. They have a large bridal suite for your use before, during and after the wedding. Outside there are water falls, a patio area and beautiful landscaping, creating perfect backdrops for photos. We meet with Evan ( Owen/Head Chef) who gave us a tour , then sat down with us to hear about our vision for our wedding day. Their wedding packages include just about everything, from your choice of linen's, the wedding cake (from Homestyle bakeryin Peekskill) even tips. Their food is absolutely delicious. (You have to visit their restaurant and see for yourself if you have never been). They made sure our guest did not leave hungry, even offered seconds to those who were still hungry after dinner. The service staff was outstanding, we were treated like family from the moment we first met with Evan. On our wedding day George (Evan's father) was our Maitre'd. He was phenomenal. George was within earshot of us all day and had what we needed before we could even ask him. Our wedding day was a little chilly, they had a canopy up over outdoor patio area ( where we held cocktail hour) and it was heated to keep our guest comfortable. From the first time dining there to the day of the wedding I could not have asked for friendlier staff to work with. I researched and received pricing from a number of other venues but they couldn’t even compete with what Cortlandt had to offer at such an affordable price. It wound up being the only place that we looked at and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision. I loved the family atmosphere, quaint ceremony, beautifully redone cocktail area and ball room. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the food was above and beyond! The area that they have for the ceremony is absolutely beautiful. From the well maintained gardens and flowers to the gazebo and waterfall, you couldn’t ask for a nicer area for pictures. They were very accommodating with the food choice as my (now) husband is lactose intolerant and a few guests were vegan. They even came out offering seconds and offered the other options on the menu if you wanted to try that instead of what you had originally. Every stage of the wedding flowed right into the next, and never once felt like we were rushed. We had our own waitress that catered to our every need, who was absolutely wonderful, and our own Bridal Suite to get ready and relax in. The only thing I would suggest about the Bridal Suite is a place to hang the Wedding and Bridesmaid Dresses. Other than that it’s perfect, very spacious with a separate entrance and bathroom. If you are planning on having a smaller wedding and you don’t want to pay a ridiculous price for so-so service, Cortland Colonial is the place for you. The cocktail hour includes 30 + different entrees, the bridal suite is huge and the bridal party, the bridal family, and the bride and groom are able to enjoy themselves during cocktail hour in this beautiful room. The garden ceremony is absolutely beautiful with seating of over 100 people and a beautiful gazebo, the outdoor garden is filled with fresh flowers during the spring/summer and the beautiful water falls outdoor sold me. \rThey just re did the reception area, which included lighting and new wall decoration. They were both there during our last meeting where we picked the linens (which are included) and finalized the last remaining details. This venue gives the best value and includes so much in it's package deals. Tips are included. They have a huge bridal suite to relax & keep all your bags secured, as well as a place to eat during cocktail hour. Both Evan & George gave us their cell phone numbers so we can reach them with any questions quickly & easily. When you pull up to the venue, it doesn't look like a wedding venue... but once you step inside and the decor is all up - it truly is a wonderland! The garden ceremony area and waterfall are GORGEOUS. A perfect place for photos. And the venue's new chandeliers and new stone floor in their outdoor patio look great. On the day of our wedding George was the Maitre'D and Evan was the Chef in the Kitchen. George had the day go SO SMOOTHLY!!! And evan cooked the food to perfection! The venue looked absolutely beautiful. We purchased their most basic package but the service they give you feels like it's the highest level package they provide. They are Greek family owned, so their motto is \"you don't leave their home hungry\" - which is why after you finish eating your main course, they come around with steaming, freshly made dishes... and asked all our guests if anyone wanted seconds. The large bridal suite was ours for the whole time. You don't get that other places. And it came in handy when the kids got tired! I also loved getting dressed there and not having to travel in my dress. But that is a tiny factor compared to the rest! We went for a food tasting and it was amazing! We didn't know how we would decide on dishes! Then there is the outside...Well it was just what I always wanted! I fell in love with the waterfall. I still have friends posting all their pictures from that night in front of the waterfall and I love to see them!\rEvan was essential in planning from start to finish and he is the best! Whenever I had a question he gave me an honest answer. From food to guest lists to centerpieces he always had some insight to help me. He recommended an officiant for us who was absolutely amazing, but that is for another review. We also went for the Frozen Tiki Bar. I think that set the whole tone of our wedding. It was incredible! The bartenders also helped me pick a signature drink. They spent the time to try to come up with something purple for me (which is hardest color to make). \rThe day of the wedding went off flawlessly! The only problem we had was a bus of about 1/3 of our guests get lost. Evan went and got them and led them to The Cortlandt Colonial. This caused the wedding to start a little late but I never even noticed it was late. Evan took care of everything before there was a chance for me to panic! The cocktail hour was fabulous and people are still talking about how much food there was.\rDinner was just as amazing and guests could not believe they were offered seconds. If anyone left there hungry they have a problem! Evan and his sister took care of us all night. We never had an empty glass and they made sure we ate. At the end of the night they packed everything up for us and we didn't have to worry about a thing. They were there to line up the bridal party both for the ceremony and the reception and we always had guidance. They knew I was nervous and had a (pretty purple) drink waiting for me when I came down the steps after the ceremony. Cassandra (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-05-2014 I got married here 2 months ago and it was one of the best decisions we made. People asked why we chose Cortlandt Manor considering we live in NYC, as do most of our guests. Well, three main reasons: waterfall, price and Evan. We wanted to have an outside ceremony, but after looking at outdoor venues in NYC, we realized that many outdoor venues in the city were out of our budget. We aren't super traditional, but the DIY approach was more than we wanted to be in charge of, so we started looking at outdoor \"all inclusive\" venues. My future husband thought it would be nice to get married by a waterfall so we threw that into the search and the first thing that popped up was Cortlandt Colonial.\r\rWe went to meet with Evan and thought the venue was adorable. It's country vibe restaurant with a back room area with a private garden where they do weddings. The waterfall is man made, but ended up looking fantastic in our pictures and made a nice backdrop for cocktail hour. There is a cute gazebo where the ceremony took place. The best part was that Evan showed us all of the unique weddings that they do there. We saw pictures of a Harry Potter themed wedding and a craft beer tasting cocktail hour which basically sold us. The venue is associated with a hotel nearby and supplied shuttles to and from the hotel so none of our guests had to drive. \r\rAlthough all packages included a top shelf open bar, we decided to also do a craft beer tasting cocktail hour. Evan said he could get us any beers we wanted, and he delivered on that promise. The dessert table was great, although I only heard about it since I was busy dancing.\r\rEvan basically took care of everything. He offered suggestions when it seemed like we needed them, he took the time to explain why things should be a certain way, he told us what would happen if it rained on our day and we had to change to an indoor ceremony (thank goodness it didn't!), he suggested vendors for us and listened to what we wanted. He answered my calls and emails during the planning process very professionally and I never felt like I was bothering him or taking up too much of his time. Our favors, guest book, little chalkboards for each beer, etc all ended up in the right place and I didn't have to worry about anything on my wedding day. He even told me and my bridesmaids when to walk down the aisle!\r\rThe food was amazing! Everyone was raving about it, especially the cocktail hour. They even had something to eat for my vegan/gluten-free friend. Evan made sure that I had plenty of drinks and even got to eat some of the food from cocktail hour. Our own personal waitress took care of the bridal party throughout the night and she was great. She set up and packed up the stuff for our sand ceremony and made sure we got everything (including the majority of my dinner that I didn't have time to eat).\r\rEveryone is still telling me that it was one of the best weddings they've attended. I would recommend checking out Cortlandt Colonial for your upcoming wedding and let Evan help you plan your wedding. He seems to really enjoy what he does. Reviewed on 06-08-2014

Aimee Heller(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-06-2013 Me and my wife were looking for places to have our June wedding. We found Cortlandt Colonial on theknot.com. We met with Evan and he immediately put us at ease. This is a family owned place and it shows. Evan is the best! We had a million questions and he answered them all. What i loved was that they only do one wedding at a time. We couldnt believe the price.. and it included a top shelf open bar with our own special cocktail! You dont have to choose what 6 types of food you want at your Cocktail Hour, you get all of them..60 different types of food! Amazing! \rEvan and his family were building a hotel nearby, but it was not ready in time for our big day. Evan gave us a free shuttle to and from for all the guests staying at another nearby hotel! \r Now to the big day- My soon to be wife got ready in the huge Bridal Suite and i got ready at home. Me and my family pulled up in our limo and Evan escorted us inside. He lined us all up, i was in the Banquet Room and my wife was coming from the Bridal Suite. The ceremony went off without a hitch! The outside garden is beautiful. The gazebo and waterfall make it a paradise!\rNow it was time to party.. after pictures of course. The bridal party and our parents had our Cocktail Hour in the bridal suite with our own waitress bringing us drinks. \r Time to party- The set up of the tables were great. Table pictures ( we didnt do table numbers) were easily seen and the guests had no problem finding their way. The entrees we had were Stuffed Salmon, Prime Rib, and Chicken Franchaise. Everyone loved the food. If you were still hungry, they came around and asked if you wanted seconds! We had a kids only table and they had a choice of any of the adult dinners or the kids menu.. Which is awesome! Evan ran everything so smoothly and we couldnt be more greatful! \r In closing, i would recommend the Cortlandt Colonial to anyone that wants perfection on their big day. Me and my wife went back for our one year anniversary and took pictures underneath the beautiful gazebo. Reviewed on 10-07-2014

Since the first time we met Evan and his staff, we were very comfortable and we fell in love with the venue. The outside was beautiful and the packages offered were great. \r\rWe wanted an outdoor wedding and after viewing numerous spots in Westchester County we knew this was the spot for us. The grounds were impeccably maintained. There is a beautiful waterfall which was the perfect backdrop for our reception and pictures. \r\rThe catering / food was excellent and the service team was great. The cocktail hour was amazing. He carved animal figures with some of the items, he had a perfect spread outdoors, and the amount of food provided was amazing and robust. Evan went above and beyond and provided an experience we will never forget. He gave us great ideas for wedding favors, he calmed us down whenever we were nervous, and he guided us throughout the entire process. He was always available, even when he was not at the venue. He was funny, comforting, and someone who was not stiff or boring like other hosts we had met. Evan kept with our theme to have a purple and white wedding and he had the proper lighting to accommodate and he also provided the linens. We loved his passion and he was the only one who offered a personalized experience to go along with what we had in mind and how we wanted our wedding to be. Other places we visited offered half of what he did for twice as much. He also worked the room with our guests to make sure everyone was happy throughout the entire reception. \r\rOverall, I can't think of a better value or better place to host a wedding. We got really lucky and it was a nice sunny, yet cool September afternoon / evening and we enjoyed every minute of it. Reviewed on 26-12-2013

The first time we met with Evan Liaskos (owner/manager) he made us feel welcome and provided us with all the necessary information that we were going to need to make the very big decision of where to have our wedding. Evan walked us through what a typical event would be like, showing us both the gorgeous outdoor ceremony space and the cocktail space (that would could be heated for our April wedding) and beautiful ballroom... and then make specific mention that not all weddings are or need to be \"typical\" so anything could be changed to fit our idea of our perfect day!\r\rEvan and staff were available through the entire planning process and helped with ideas and any made us feel at ease getting everything done in time for the big day! \r\rThe day of our wedding was PERFECT! Evan made sure that everything went off without a hitch. The ceremony was beautiful in the garden, the cocktail hour was VERY plentiful and delicious and all of our family is still raving about the dinner and how AMAZING it was (some people were initially questioning if there would be an actual dinner since the food at the cocktail hour just kept coming!).\r\rBrian and I were so happy with the outcome of the wedding and would recommend this to anyone looking for an AMAZING place for your Wedding! I'm not from the Hudson Valley area, and I'd been wanting to do a beach wedding. \rM-I-L wanted to do a bigger wedding so I compromised and had a \"traditional\" reception. She suggested the Cortlandt Colonial and I looked into it and called Evan. He was great from the start. I don't like to make decisions, and he was willing to help out with anything and everything. He has vendors to suggest, and knows a ton about what's new in the wedding trends, etc. I had a kind of \"elegant Halloween\" theme, and dropped off my decorations the day before and when I walked in it looked even better than I'd envisioned. The prices are great considering what is included, and there are levels to choose from. All include a cocktail hour (I missed so much of it but the photos and guests tel me it was great!) dinner, cake from Homestyle Bakeries (awesome bakery in Peekskill), and champagne toast and open bar. We also had an international coffee station and a whole spread of desserts. Food was plentiful and great, and everything turned out awesome. Best part was I didn't have to think much about anything - it was all there and done! Reviewed on 16-11-2013

Yeah the inside is not what's currently in style (country chic and all) but its clean, well kept and evertyhing else is so amazing you aren't going to notice the carpet trust me. Everyone at my wedding loved the food and the INCLUDED open top shelf bar. This place is beyond reasonable for the price, I mean 5hr open bar, 1hr cocktail hour, bridal suite to escape to, 4 course meal, and the wedding cake for under a hundred a head? All my guest raved about the food and definitely enjoyed the open bar (there were 150 in all). Evan was so accommodating keeping everything in order we didn't think about anything. I had a lot of little knick knacks for decorations at my wedding, he put them out exactly how I asked creating the fall theme I wanted perfectly. He stopped by during dinner and through out the evening to make sure everything was going well, even made sure my own glass was full. I would recommend here to any and everyone. Gerardo Franco(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-05-2013 Our Wedding at The Ballroom at Cortlandt Colonial Manor was nothing short of spectacular.\r\rWe had originally booked a venue a bit closer to home. Unfortunately, shortly after, we received an apology letter stating that the venue was closing down. Attached to the letter was a list of recommended venues, including The Ballroom at Cortlandt Colonial Manor. In order of proximity, we vegan researching and visiting each one of these venues, but none of them felt right. That feeling changed as soon as we arrived to The Ballroom at Cortlandt Colonial Manor. The location was a bit of a stretch for us, but that certainly did not stop us from booking this venue. We knew right away that this was the right place to have our Wedding.\r\rWe met with Evan roughly a year before our wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. He was very polite, helpful and organized. He took the time to explain the booking process and showed us all of the options he had to offer. He was very accommodating, patient and offered a lot of feedback based on his experience, which was very helpful. \r\rWe are incredibly thankful with Evan, who took care of everything from Day 1. Once the venue was booked, a weight was lifted off both of our shoulders. After meeting and speaking with Evan, we felt a sense of relief to know that we were being taken care of.\r\rThroughout the process, Evan was always accessible for us. We were so happy with the service that we would make the drive just to have dinner at the place and meet with Evan almost every other month. How could we not, the food was always amazing and the place itself had a great atmosphere. It was very hard to not share this place with others. We brought friends and family for dinner a couple of times prior to having the Wedding. This place was so amazing we even attended one of their Mothers Day events. Our Mom's had a great time and loved the menu. \r\rEvan also helped us organize our Rehearsal Dinner a week before the actual Wedding. Everyone in our party was amazed at the quality of service and the tasty food. We had even flown family from out of the country, who had nothing but high regards for the venue. It was nothing short of amazing.\r\rFinally, our Wedding day came along. When we arrived to the reception after Mass, everything was ready and the final touches were being taken care of. Everything was beyond amazing. We were actually able to sit down and relax for a bit before the guests began arriving. We were greeted with drinks and appetizers. Our party had a great time indulging themselves with the endless appetizers being brought to the Bridal Suite. As guest began arriving, Evan, his Sister and their staff helped us through every step of the process. From greeting our guests, to helping us with the photo shoot, they were present at all times. \r\rEverything that night went according to plan, and even better than we had ever expected. We were amazed at the amount of food being served to our 150 guests. Even after they were done with dinner, Evan's staff came around asking if anyone wanted to try another item in the Menu.\r\rMy Wife and I would like to extend our most sincere thanks to Evan, his Sister and staff for the magnificent service. They definitely outdid themselves. We are already considering booking this venue for future events. You cannot compare their attention to detail and amazing service to any other Venue. We chose to visit his establishment before we went anywhere else, but after meeting with him and hearing what he promised to do for us, we did not see the need to waste time looking at other venues. We knew we wanted Evan to host our day.\r\rFrom the day we booked the ballroom through the end of the reception, Evan was one hundred percent accessible at all times. As everyone knows, planning a wedding is not the least stressful event of a person’s life, but he made every step manageable and easy. He was reachable at all times, and we were never overwhelmed with planning a six hour event for close to one hundred and fifty guests. Friends and family could not stop remarking about how well organized the event was from start to finish, thanks to the coordinated efforts of a truly professional staff.\r\rWhat my husband and I still hear the most, however, are endless compliments about how delicious (and plentiful) the food and drinks were. My husband and I have already vowed to return every year on our anniversary to remember what an amazing experience we had on our wedding day. \r\rIn short, my husband and I have nothing but the most wonderful of words to say about Evan and his staff. We would not hesitate for even a second to recommend Cortlandt Colonial to absolutely anyone, whether they were looking for a relaxing dinner for two, or planning the most important event of their lives.\r\rWe are so thrilled that when we look back at how perfect our wedding day was, we have nothing but the fondest of memories of the staff at the Cortlandt Colonial. \r Reviewed on 16-10-2013

Danielle (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-07-2013 I should start by saying that I didn't look at many wedding vendors. As someone who has lived in this area for many years I had already heard glowing reviews of this venue from others, so they were on my short-list before I even started. My family had our Christmas Eve dinners there for many years so I was already aware that the food quality was above average. I went to the venue with my now-husband for a quick look around, and when we both saw the brochure and the options were laid before us, he was convinced there would be no way we would be able to afford it (we were on a tight budget, to say the least). Needless to say, he was shocked when we finally saw the prices. Without question, this is the absolute best value for your money, and living in Westchester, that really says something.\r\rI had already been planning for about a year, but we met with Evan about a week before the wedding to go over all the final details. He was super-helpful in getting things organized, and reminded me of a lot of things I otherwise would have missed. I didn't find that I needed tons of guidance every step of the way, but he knows what he's doing and it's definitely worth meeting with him beforehand. He even provided me with his personal cell # in case I had any last minute questions or concerns.\r\rThe day of my wedding (7/19/13) happened to be the hottest day of the year, but Evan and his staff were so accommodating in keeping people comfortable in the heat.\r\rWe had our ceremony on site, and since we viewed the area in the winter, we had no idea how beautiful the garden would be come summer time. The flowers and the waterfall were amazing. Believe it or not, I had a Harry Potter-themed wedding, and Evan and his staff were beyond amazing in helping to put all of the little details together. I had boxes upon boxes of stuff, and though I was a little confused as to how it all might go together, somehow they figured it out and made it all work. I had alcoholic butterbeer as my signature drink, and they went above and beyond in making it as authentic as possible. The staff even wore Harry Potter glasses when it came time to serve dessert (the Viennese table was out of this world). Then there was the food....the amount of food they serve is unbelievable. It was bountiful and delicious, and no only were our guests offered seconds, they were offered thirds! I've never heard of any wedding venue that does this.\r\rI literally had people coming up to me all night telling me how much fun they were having, how amazing the food was, and that this was pretty much the best wedding they'd ever been to. I even had guests stop in to my mother's place of work just to tell her what a fantastic time they had.\r\rI have a feeling that a lot of people might consider passing this place by because it's not as large or typically weddingy-looking from the outside. DO NOT LET THAT FOOL YOU! You simply will not find better quality, better service, and better food than you will here.\r\rI'm actually hoping that I'll have the good fortune to attending a wedding here as a guest some time soon. This is the only wedding venue that I have ever been to where people that attended were able to complain that there was \"too much food.\" No worries about the too much food thing, as Evan and staff will ensure you get a 'to go' container so you can take a dish for the road. The table staff were absolutely fantastic, we had guests that had special dietary needs and the staff & kitchen were more than accommodating for these people as well. The waterfall in the back makes for some awesome imagery (you're photographer will love that you made their life so easy), and the dance floor is large enough to easily fit 100+ people without worrying about whether grandma is going to get knocked over after Uncle Fred kicks back a few too many and starts moshing to \"Girls Just Wanna Have fun.\" \r\rYOU WILL NOT GET A BETTER DEAL ANYWHERE IN THE TRI-STATE :-)\r\rthx for reading Reviewed on 22-09-2013

The very first night we met Evan while having dinner at the restaurant and got an impromptu tour of the ballroom, pavilion and garden area we decided this was where we wanted to have our wedding. The quality of food, service and attention to detail we received for a package that was within our budget is unbelievable. Working with Evan made the planning process stress-free; he streamlined what we needed, made suggestions along the way and even recommended the florist he had used for his own wedding. Seriously, we got a caterer, wedding planner and day-of-coordinator all in one. When the day finally arrived, we were confident everything was under control. Even though there was a chance of rain, we had no worries knowing Evan would track the weather minute-by-minute on his iPad. It makes a big difference when you trust who you are working with to make any last minute decisions/changes that may be necessary in case any unexpected things come up. Thankfully, the day turned out beautiful. Evan worked with all the vendors making sure the day ran smoothly. As I walked down the aisle, I was delighted to see the beautiful flowers planted in the garden area. The garden and waterfall added another dimension to the backdrop for our day. And most importantly – the FOOD was delicious. We had a couple of additions to our cocktail hour and dessert table to reflect our Hispanic/Portuguese backgrounds. My family and friends could not stop commenting on the cocktail hour, dinner selections, the option for seconds and a chance to taste all three entrees offered. Our guests also enjoyed the late night dessert hour and international coffee table under the pavilion with intimate tables set up under the waterfall. It was the perfect end to a perfect night. We look forward to celebrating many anniversaries, family celebrations, holidays and even casual nights out at Cortlandt Colonial for years to come. Reviewed on 09-08-2011
anne halliday(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-05-2010 My husband and I were married in May of 2010, and still have people telling us what a wonderful time they had at our wedding and how surprised they were to be asked if they wanted seconds on dinner. We also had our cermony in there beautiful waterfall garden. As a woman your wedding day is something you dream about since you are little, and Evan and his staff made it better than I dreamed. Every questioned I had, every concern I had Evan was there with an answer or suggestion. He acted as my personal wedding planner. He listened to how I wanted my day to be, but would also give me some of his ideas. I would recommend anyone to have their wedding here, not only is it a beautiful location, the food is excellent and the price is a steal for the quality of service you will recieve. My husband and I went back there for our one yr anniversary and the service was great also in there restaurant. And made us a special dessert in celebration for our special day. Samantha Ford(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2011 I had my wedding at the Cortlandt Colonial Ballroom in April of 2011. I have to say that my year was filled with tragedy, turmoil and disarray. Planning a wedding just added to list of stressful items. Evan made the process simple and painless. He listenened, made suggestions and alterations to make me and my fiance now husband happy. The best of it all was my wedding day. A day which is usually filled with chaos was smooth and calm. Evan's dad George and all the other staff made the day unforgettable for me and my guest. They let me know all the details a bride should know but are unsure of, cocktail hour was fit for a princess, dinner was like eating at the Waldorf (they asked my guest if they waned seconds or would like to try another main course....unheard of). I not only recommend the Cortlandt Colonial ballroom to you but have recommended it to several friends. l Reviewed on 03-08-2011
Donna Zebrowski(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-05-2011 In April 2001,Dec.2009, May 2011 we had the absolute pleasure of having all 3 weddings at the Cortlandt Colonial Ballroom. the service was outstanding. The care and personalization they gave each wedding was beyond expectations. I had one daughter who was very particular to her wedding plans and Evan just made it all work to exactly what she wanted. 2001 and 2011 weddings the ceromonies were on there also. Everything went to the T. The food was beyond what all the guests thought it would be and they definatly never left hungry. Only one wedding at a time goes on there. The host is present at all times to make sure things role smoothly. The cost was extremly reasonable. We as parents having our own wedding in 2001, giving our 2 daughters weddings 2009, 2011... We thank you Evan Liaskos from the bottom of our hearts for weddings and memeories of a life time. \r\rDonna and Charles Zebrowski Reviewed on 03-08-2011
Debbie Mcdonald(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-05-2011 Initially looking at the Cortlandt Colonial I wasn't impressed, but my fiance told me to consider it again because he wasn't happy with the other places we saw. It's not as flashy or over the top as many of the big wedding factories, but what they lack in glitz and glamour, they make up in the quality of their food and service. We met with Evan and George (who were both there on the day of my wedding as well), and saw how much they care about making us happy. They only hold one party at a time so we had their full attention on our wedding day. I'm glad that we chose this place to host our wedding. The gardens were beautiful, especially for our ceremony and the cocktail hour. The room was decorated nicely and they even put out all of our favors for us in the exact special ways we asked. Having the huge bridal suite to get ready in with my own private bathroom really helped too since I had a big bridal party and all the girls got ready on-site. My guests keep telling me that it was the best food they EVER had at a wedding. I knew that after I had done a food tasting before even booking with them, and the food the day of the wedding was just as awesome. The service staff made it so we felt as if we never had to lift a finger. anything we needed was seemingly there before we even asked. I'm so glad we stayed away from the Wedding Factory type of catering hall and trusted our special day to the Cortlandt Colonial. I guess you can say I am biased, but I feel that they are one of the main reasons my wedding was perfect. The biggest bonus was that everything was reasonably priced too. Reviewed on 02-08-2011
Tara T(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2011 When we were searching for a venue, we wanted to be the only wedding at the time. Evan and his staff at Cortlandt Colonial were awesome! Evan is great and works with you during every step of the way. He is great at keeping you stress free and at customizing your wedding. There was a certain appetizer i wanted during cocktail hour and Evan made it happen. We were having my friend sing our wedding song and once again there was no problem and everything was all set when we got there. The food here is so delicious and to die for. Consistent every time we visited the restaurant. Their wedding packages are affordable and the best value for your money in the entire westchester country area. I can wait to have other milestone parties here! Reviewed on 27-07-2011
Virginia Schaefer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2006 The owners were exceptionally accomodating. Had lots of recommendations for other areas of wedding planning such as florist and DJ. The food was more than incredible and they took care of everything! And the pricing was extremely reasonable. They are the best!;This place was terrific. The only thing bad about this is if you are from out of town there aren't many nice hotels in the area but I heard that Cortlandt Colonial itself is building their own hotel next door. Good deal.
