Nestled amidst farmlands and the scenic Pamunkey River, Cousiac Manor is a countryside wedding venue in Lanexa, VA, between Richmond and Williamsburg. This traditional estate comprises rolling fields and farmland, scenic river views, a traditional manor house dating back to 1746, and a barn-style wedding venue. Here, couples can curate their big day according to their unique wishes and tastes, from rustic and relaxed outdoor receptions to intimate and elegant celebrations. We could not have chosen a more beautiful venue for our September 22nd wedding. The minute we set foot on the property we fell in love--it has such a serene, calming energy, which is exactly what we were looking for! Sydney and her dad, Al, were so sweet, helpful, and responsive throughout the entire planning process. We were also able to rent linens and several other beautiful props through Cousiac that truly captured our wedding vision. This venue is a hidden gem--we HIGHLY recommend it!

We could not have chosen a more beautiful venue for our September 22nd wedding. Sydney and her dad, Al, were so sweet, helpful, and responsive throughout the entire planning process. The whole venue is absolutely GORGEOUS! They have a few different ceremony spots to choose from which ended up being a must for us. Unfortunately it rained the morning of our wedding, but we were still able to fit everyone comfortably in the covered pavilion! They provide everything you could possibly need and even have rentals which are way cheaper than getting rentals from another vendor. They even have a preferred vendors list which made finding our caterer and DJ super easy. We didn't want to get married anywhere but here as soon as we set foot on the property. They're reasonably priced too! 10/10 highly recommend!!

BEAUTIFUL venue!!!! Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they’d been to. Right on the water with a barn country feel. We had our dance floor under the stars with some string lights and it was incredible. Beautiful accommodations for bridal party to get ready and there were a lot of fun extras like the horse trailer bar, the cornhole boards, and the biodegradable golf balls we got to swing into the water! Also you get it for the whole weekend which was amazing for setting up & getting organized! Cannot say enough good things!! Look no further!

Sydney was very easy to work with, a payment plan was made and helped me and my now husband out so much since we were financing our whole wedding by ourselves. The venue was absolutely GORGEOUS, the guests had nothing but compliments and there was so much time we were able to spend at the venue it helped a lot with the day of stress. Amazing overall experience and I recommend all my friends who newly get engaged or looking for a good venue about this amazing place!

My husband and I had the most beautiful wedding day at Cousiac Manor! Our guests raved about how gorgeous the venue was and we loved the versatility we had there. The owners were able to answer any and all questions we had. They also worked with us to schedule various times to visit the venue before our wedding for planning purposes. We loved that we had access to the venue starting Thursday before our wedding. This was a huge perk for us. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for waterfront and rustic.

The venue is absolutely amazing! Perfect secluded location, with beautiful water views. Very affordable which was a big deal for us. I loved all of their unique rentals that they offer, and their customer service was amazing! We accidentally forgot to rent the barrel lights and I emailed them the day before our wedding and they had those lights ready for us on our big day! It not only made the outdoor space but their willingness to accommodate is so refreshing.

The venue is absolutely amazing! Perfect secluded location, with beautiful water views. Very affordable which was a big deal for us. Cousiac Manor is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen. The owners have built on to this venue and it looks amazing! Everyone at the venue was easy to work with and was super flexible and laid back. We had to postpone our date due to COVID, and Sydney was willing to let us change dates with no fee. The venue is so beautiful and requires very little extra decor when setting up. I’m so thankful I found this venue!

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism my husband and I experienced with this venue. There were a few red flags at first that I ignored, and I went with the benefit of the doubt. Now, I truly regret that with all my heart. What really breaks my heart and my husband’s heart is that we feel we were very much taken advantage of. We were set to be married here but with the pandemic that sadly did not happen. They allowed us to make a reschedule but when things were looking like that new date would not work, they refused to give us a new date and demanded we give them all the money. Sadly, we lost the deposit, which I could have understood since the contract did state that there would be no refunds, but we tried to reschedule, and they would not do so. One that note we believed we were due our money back since they could not provide us with the services they were offering. They told us to had to have our wedding on the date we had selected, but that would not have worked due to out date conflicting with the VA restrictions imposed by the Governor, stating in Executive Order number Sixty-Five that no more than 50 individuals would be able to gather in one area. They still kept the money we paid them for their venue even though we had no control over the circumstances, and because we were unable to choose a new date we had to cancel our event and lost that money. I am so sad to have to be writing this review, but I do believe future brides and grooms should know the true character of who they are doing business with. As a bride or groom, you should feel special and on top of the world. We felt this venue did the exact opposite to my husband and I and we are extremely disappointed and hurt.

The newly built patio on the water side was perfect for our dance floor and cocktail hour. The view of the water was amazing! They have a beautiful covered pavilion for a rainy day option with great views of the water! Sydney was so amazing and easy to work with! We were so happy we chose Cousiac Manor for our big day!!

Words cannot describe how pleased my husband and I are with this venue and the service that they provided. Things went smoothly from our first tour through the wedding day. Sydney (manager) was great. She responded to all of our emails promptly and helped ensure that we had everything we needed and more including helping pick vendors and behind the scenes details such as floor plans and licenses/permits. The venue itself was breathtakingly beautiful and we received several compliments on the venue. It was more affordable than most venues we looked and I couldn't recommend this venue more!

Although the venue is beautiful I can’t excuse the mistake they made when booking. I originally booked a date in April 2021 and paid my deposit 3 months ago. Last week I got news that my husband to be deployment dates were changed (last minute of course). I immediately emailed Cousiac to try and switch to a date this summer to get married before his deployment. They got back to me Saturday giving me a June and August option; I emailed them back asking for June and asked Til the end of the week to ensure my family/ vendors were able to. They agreed and said I would get priority. On Thursday they emailed me asking if I made my decision because people were asking. I contacted them an hour later saying June is a definite. This is when they told me they made a mistake and gave that date away because they misread my email. It is an understandable mistake and double bookings can happen however instead of allowing Me to keep my date that they agreed I had priority over first they sided with the bride who inquired about the date almost a week after I asked to reserve it. To me that is completely unacceptable and unprofessional and now I have to plan my wedding (for a third time) because they didn’t own up and correct their mistake

We had a venue tour scheduled, and got there a little early. When we started looking for Sydney at 11, another couple showed up looking for her as well, and we realized that our tours had been double booked. This wouldn’t have been a problem, except we had no communication from Sydney about it, and she never showed up. We finally were able to reach her 15 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start, and she told us that she was 15 minutes away, after not communicating with us at all about running late or being unavailable, even though she’d been adamant about confirming our appointment when we booked it two weeks before. It was wasted three hour round trip to tour this venue, and we’re unable to

We were given other Sundays to choose from but they weren't long weekends and we have family coming in from out of town. They wouldn't honor the pricing for us to have it on a Saturday. They offered to give us $300 off but the price would be $1700 more. A price we would have to pay for their mistake. They said they would send our money back. After speaking to my daughter, we didn't trust them to mess up again. At this point we had no faith in them. Our deposit was sent back. I never received a phone call. Worst customer service ever. If you are looking for a venue that could mess up your wedding date then look no further. Thanks Cousiac Manor for a terrible experience. We will never recommend you to anyone. This is my second marriage and I was a little nervous about finding a dress after my previous experience with a different bridal salon. I did a simple google search and found Urban Set Bride. After checking out their website and loving what I saw, I made an appointment. They book one appointment at a time allowing you to have the entire store you yourself. Jennifer was warm and welcoming. She was very knowledgeable, even offering suggestions after listening to what type of dress I wanted. I never felt pressured to purchase a dress and I even made a second appointment to bring my five daughters back to get their opinions on the dresses I loved. For my second visit, one of my daughters found a dress she loved and wanted me to try it on. Jennifer was happy to oblige. I’m so grateful I found this bridal salon. I can not say enough good things about my experience. Urban Set Bride is like no other salon in Richmond and it’s obvious why they have been voted Best Bridal Shop in Richmond for so many years.

My husband and I got married here in June and couldn't have been happier! Sydney was always so sweet and quick when replying to my many questions. She was patient and such a pleasure to work with. The venue grounds and the barn are absolutely breath taking. We have amazing pictures from engagement pictures and the wedding. The view is gorgeous. Our guest had nothing but nice things to say about the venue! If we had to do it all over again I'd pick Cousiac Manor again!

My husband and I were married at Cousiac Manor in May. When we first heard about Cousiac Manor and saw photos, we were blown away at the beauty and intimate location. I remember driving down the road and saying “I don’t care how much this costs. THIS is where we are getting married!” Barn, river, perfect ceremony locations, and a bunch of extras- check check check CHECK! Cousiac Manor and the lovely folks who own it exceeded our every expectation. Even though it was cool and rainy the day before, the sun came out minutes before our ceremony. Can you say magical? Our guests loved the view of the river and the spacious barn. We are still getting people who tell us our wedding was one of the best and how much they loved the venue! We are so thankful to have had our big day at Cousiac Manor. We are so blown away with the love & magic found down the long gravel road. It was worth the drive! And we hope that someday we can return for a stay in that house!

This venue was absolutely perfect for our ceremony and reception. Our guests loved the river breeze and the views. We loved being able to hold our rehearsal dinner on the property as well. The perfect spot for a summer wedding! Working with the owners was extremely easy and they always responded promptly to my emails. I highly recommend this venue!

Words cannot describe how pleased my wife and I are with this venue and the service that they provided. Things went smoothly from our first tour through the wedding day. Sydney (manager) was great. She responded to all of our emails promptly and helped ensure that we had everything we needed and more including helping pick vendors and behind the scenes details such as floor plans and licenses/permits. Cousiac Manor was the perfect setting for my daughter's wedding. Everything was perfect and we couldn't have asked for more. It was great working with Sydney. She was always accommodating to our needs to visit the property and ensure everything was set up as my daughter had planned. It was a perfect day, April 30, 2017 and the wedding was beautiful. I would recommend this venue for a wedding as it had everything that was needed for the event. The barn is beautiful and was a perfect place to set up for the reception. We couldn't have asked for anything more since we only had 6 weeks to plan the wedding.

Quite possibly the perfect event space. I recently photographed a wedding at Cousiac Manor and it was perfect! The photo opportunities and areas are more than abundant year round. I highly recommend booking your wedding here. I truly enjoyed it.

This venue was perfect for our Sunday, May wedding. The owners, Sydney and Stacey are absolutely wonderful. They allowed me access to venue each time I asked, which was a lot! We've gotten SO many compliments on the venue and a couple we had at our wedding is now getting married there as well! Sydney and her mom were the BEST! I highly recommend getting married at Cousiac Manor! \r\rAt first I thought it was too good to be true like so many others, but it is absolutely stunning. The pictures don't even do it justice, it's perfect!\rThe best surprise about my venue tour, is that there were no surprises! Other venues had mandatory photographers or restricted catering, one even charged a $1200 bathroom fee! But the lovely family who owns and operates Cousiac manor is very upfront about the cost and expectations, and they are very flexible! They made me feel completely at ease, because they seem to genuinely care about their brides. I'm so excited to get married at this amazing site! My only wish is that the bed and breakfast site would be finished with renovations by my wedding! Some lucky 2017 brides will have the opportunity to check that out.

Every direction you look is scenic from the fields to the river to the historic manor house it is just stunning.

Alvin, Stacy and Sydney are awesome and have created a family business that will bring so much happiness to so many future marriages! The pictures are pretty but you have to come check out the venue in person to really see how beautiful the manor is. The venue is yours for the WHOLE weekend which is such a relief when setting up prior to the wedding day. We have been there countless times to brainstorm and get ideas for our big day and can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Went to a wedding here this fall. It was such a perfect location for a wedding! There's a new barn next to an old historic home right on the river. It was just the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding.
