Historic Home + Event Venue
Hartley House is a boutique wedding and event venue listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built c. 1790, we invite you to be our guest and experience the history and hospitality of Hartley House. Our venue is overflowing with natural light, 12' ceilings, gold chandeliers, and oversized antique mirrors. Unlike many historic homes, we offer access to the inside of the historic home for cocktail hour, catering, indoor seating up to 40 guests, and restrooms. Venture outside to our newly renovated reception site complete with market lighting and a 40x80' white frame tent offered during peak season (March-June and September-December). The inside is also home to our 1000 sq. ft. bridal suite and Grooms Tavern. We offer ample on-site parking. With exciting renovations happening during our off-season, we are sure to have exactly what you've been looking for. We offer all-inclusive wedding packages and venue only rental rates. Hartley House is such a beautiful, classic & elegant wedding venue, and fit into my daughter’s vision of the wedding she always dreamed of . Crystal is wonderful and super easy to communicate with. she offers a variety of amazing vendors to choose from and even special pricing packages. Our wedding guests continue to talk about the delicious food and how absolutely beautiful the florals, lighting and tent set up were ! Many have said it was the most fun and memorable wedding ever. This mommas heart will always remember the pure JOY of watching Brittany see her wedding vision dreams & details come to life as she & Garrett celebrated their special day with family and friends . So much gratitude to Crystal and her team. I highly recommend taking a tour of Hartley House if you have a wedding or special event coming up .

The Hartley House did an amazing job and I would chose them again and again. With the torrential downpour and the power going out at our wedding, Crystal was so professional and had it all under control. Crystal is so kind and thoughtful! If you are on the fence, please chose the Hartley House!

Finding a wedding venue was the hardest part of wedding planning, to the point that my husband and I felt like we were going to have to settle for the venue with the least amount of cons. All that changed when we toured the Hartley House. It was everything we wanted- history, charm, and a beautiful story. This was the only venue where I could see my wedding day happening as we toured. Crystal is one of the nicest people on the planet and has done a *phenomenal* job decorating the home in a way that honors its history while maintaining current style. This was the only venue we toured with a designated space for the groom/guys to get ready in, and the bridal suite is not only HUGE but also gorgeous. We weren't even out of the driveway before my husband said he wanted to get married there. Crystal was so easy to work with, answered all of my questions no matter how silly, and gave us an amazing recommendation for our rehearsal dinner. So many upgrades were made in the year after we booked which was an added bonus. I also loved being able to have my bridal portraits done on site as well. My husband and I had a perfect wedding day and we are so grateful that we found Crystal and the Hartley House!!

We had our daughter's wedding at Hartley House in May 2023. Crystal and her team have a beautiful venue and did an amazing job with the entire event. As parents hosting a wedding several hundred miles away, it was great to be able to do a package deal with Crystal's curated list of vendors and turn everything over to her to manage. It made the process so much easier for us - and saved us money as well - and all of her partners did a fantastic job. We had over 130 guests who travelled from all over the world, and they all raved about everything: the venue, the organization, the food, the DJ, the decorations, etc. It was just as we hoped it would be. I gladly recommend Hartley House.

All my life I've dreamed of what my wedding would be like and how perfect the day would be. Let me tell you. The Hartley House and Crystal Mustard exceeded my expectations and more for my wedding day. From the planning to the day of the wedding, every detail was covered and taken care of with exceptionally. Crystal took so much time to make sure we had everything we needed just the way we wanted. The planning was meticulous but easy. Crystal and her staff were wonderful as well as the vendors she uses. Everything is arranged in house which made the whole experience that much easier. The house has ample room for the bridal party to get ready in comfort and relax. All my life I've dreamed of what my wedding would be like and how perfect the day would be. Let me tell you. The Hartley House and Crystal Mustard exceeded my expectations and more for my wedding day. From the planning to the day of the wedding, every detail was covered and taken care of with exceptionally. Crystal took so much time to make sure we had everything we needed just the way we wanted. The planning was meticulous but easy. Crystal and her staff were wonderful as well as the vendors she uses. Everything is arranged in house which made the whole experience that much easier. The house has ample room for the bridal party to get ready in comfort and relax. The venue itself is gorgeous and makes a beautiful backdrop to the most romantic day of your life. I cannot recommend them enough!-Amanda Young Dukes

We had our wedding March of 2023 and I don't think I lifted a finger throughout the entire planning process. On the first day we met with Crystal, she had an entire list of vendors that she recommended and we went with her expertise. Between herself and the day-of-coordinator Brittany, that Crystal recommended, they literally handled EVERYTHING. They went above and beyond and are just fun people who actually became our friends during the process.You can see in all of our photos the decor that Crystal put together and it is exactly what we envisioned. Everyone says wedding planning is so stressful, but clearly they just haven't been choosing the right place and people. I'd get married 10x over if I had the venue and Crystal.Our one concern was about the distance from the Hartley House to any potential hotels in Lexington. We debated doing transportation for guests and decided not to ultimately and thank goodness we didn't waste our money. Uber's had no problem coming out and taking our guests back into town! So if this is one of your concerns, just know that it isn't a factor at all.Being in the south can be tricky to have a LGBTQ friendly space to get married so we are forever thankful that this venue and team welcomed us with open arms.

I got married a month ago and had worked with Crystal closely for about 4 months prior to our wedding. She was the most understand and laid back venue owner I talked with. She made us feel SO welcome and celebrated every step of the way. On top of her pleasant personality that made every interaction with her wonderful, the venue itself is just STUNNING. I could not have imagined a more beautiful day.Thank you to Crystal for creating such a romantic space! We feel so lucky to have celebrated our love at the Hartley House.

Hartley House is not like any venue you come across. Not only is it finely decorated for the bride, but the groom as well. My husband and myself didn’t have a large number or guests nor a large budget. This was the perfect find! Crystal and her husband John made our day more than special! They were exactly what we needed when it came to lowering stress levels! We couldn’t have asked for a more gracious host to share their lovely home. They have put time and money into making this the best experience ever! I am a free lance photographer and let me tell you, if you get a chance to work at this venue you will be surely welcomed and accommodated! They treated us like family from the start and even the slightest of details were handled to perfection! Freaking out? Crystal can handle just about anything you ask her! She and her husband make this the easiest thing you do for your special day! A+++++ from My husband Dewayne and myself! We will continue to hire them for any other needs we have in the future! Thank you Crystal and John for making our day the most memorable it could possibly be!

Hartley House was such a dream. It is the perfect place to get married in South Carolina if you don’t want to get married in a barn like everyone else but you still want to get married outside! Crystal and her husband were amazing to work with and basically granted every one of my requests. They helped me set up, and supported me so much leading up to the wedding day! The level of communication was incredible. They are professional and amazing. I’ve heard a lot people say on their wedding day they had a lot of time constraints and restrictions and it was not that way at Hartley House at all!!! Best venue ever, I would not have changed a thing.

We used Hartley House for our wedding. The house is beautiful and decorated very well. We utilized the whole house and the grounds as well. John and Crystal are a dream to work with and helped make it everything we wanted.
